Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with some guests expressing satisfaction with the cleanliness and staff friendliness, while others report significant issues with the rooms and facilities. Many guests appreciate the convenient location and reasonable pricing.
- Convenient location
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Rooms and facilities in need of maintenance and cleaning
- Issues with air conditioning and plumbing
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay. We stay here every time we are in Summerville.
- 1/5
Spell awful in my room. My bed was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever slept on and ended up actually sleeping on the floor. The air conditioner made all kinds of noises and my key card would work when it would want to four pillows maybe one.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and comfortable. We only stayed one night but will definitely book again!
- 3/5
The staff was great. The property was old, but clean. No hot breakfast except for waffles. I felt it was overpriced.
- 5/5
Everything was great except breakfast. I found it somewhat lacking
- 5/5
great place

Wonderful staff

While in this particular Quality Inn on Jockey Drive (Lane??) in Summerville was a great exception to the rule. Robert, the Manager, was very nice and accommodating. I enjoyed talking with him. The maid service was spot on. Clean towels every day, and, even though it was just me, always took their time to clean the room and make it look fresh and tidy everyday. They were really nice too. Also, you can go downstairs and have a fresh breakfast in the morning and fresh coffee all day. The only thing missing is an elevator as there are 2 floors. Robert, though, was kind enough to carry my suitcase up the 2 flights for me. Would I recommend this Quality Inn? Absolutely 😊
- 5/5
Clean and very nice staff. Breakfast didn't have many options for me other than bread and cereal but the coffee was good, the ice machine and water fill up station worked well. Thanks for having me!
- 3/5
Older hotel but a decent hotel for the price. Beds are comfortable and hotel is clean. Staff is nice. Breakfast is minimal.
- 4/5
Older building but clean and well maintained. We add was very polite and helpful, but hotel seemed short staffed
- 3/5
The rooms were clean but outdated. Fist day at check in the women’s was not friendly but other staff were nice. Breakfast was not good, only option was dried food like cereal and prepackaged mini sandwiches, we ended up getting breakfast outside because there were many options. The location was great, lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
- 4/5
Didnt eat breakfast. Parking was fine.
- 2/5
Was not given a king bed that I reserved. A double bed for someone 6’5” was not adequate!
- 5/5
Clean and great service
- 3/5
The room was clean bed was comfortable I believe that it’s an older hotel cause you could hear outside noise and the room next to me you could hear people talking The room had a musky smell and I’m sure the staff are doing their best to keep an older establishment as best as they can Staff and management was very courteous and helpful I think the company may need to update and replace the rooms so what you pay for is better quality Overall if you just need a good nights sleep then that’s what you get as long as you can sleep with the noise from the room next door or outside traffic If I’m going to pay the same rate as competition then I’d stay in s’more updated faciity
- 3/5
I felt sad in the hotel’s parking lot. Check in was quick and pleasant.
- 4/5
The Quality Inn, Summerville, South Carolina was in a great location with easy access to shopping and any personal needs that you may require. The staff was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable of the area. The rooms were spacious and breakfast was sufficient. The on-site parking was free with easy access to the main hotel. I would recommend this property.

Yes
- 4/5
Nice staff and clean room. Could use some updating but all and all good one night stay.
- 4/5
The staff was excellent the hotel building itself was a little outdated but still an enjoyable stay
- 4/5
the breakfast was not good
- 2/5
Cons: Property had no elevator, ice maker on 2nd floor was broken, everything was very old and worn out, bathroom had no venting and yellow stuff growing on ceiling (staff did clean off ceiling once I asked about it). Slightly funky smells in room. My coffee cup literally disintegrated as I was eating breakfast and the coffee spilled out of the bottom. Not sure how this place had such high reviews on expedia, if your only priority is a cheap bug-free hotel this is for you. If you want anything else from your stay don't expect it from this spot until a big renovation.
- 2/5
I'm not sure what time breakfast end but there was nothing except muffins and the smell of bacon around 9:30am. It didn't appear to be many customers, but the only room available on the first floor was a handicap room with one queen bed. I couldn't walk up the stairs.
- 3/5
Did not eat there
- 4/5
Was not aware that there was no elevator and we were booked into a 2nd floor room. After being told that there was no king room on the 1st floor and after some gentle persuasion, one miraculously appeared. The lady at the desk was very nice; however, had there not been anything available on the 1st floor, there would ⁹ have been a real problem as we are in our mid-eighties. There is no excuse for that information not appearing on the Expedia site.
- 3/5
The Beds were good, clean linens, good daily refreshing, The breakfast had little variety, The toilet flushed kinda', the shower spray could penetrate metal, there was no hand towel hanger. We won't stay there again.
- 4/5
Breakfas was okay. The hotel was clean . The staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
yes,,,,,everything was fresh and clear
- 2/5
Save your pride. Find another cheap hotel- it will be better. Broken shower. Cheap continental breakfast (barely.) Old tub and bath and furniture. High price because Charleston had an event and NO Quality in this Inn.
- 5/5
Friendly, clean and wonderful. Good value.
- 5/5
The staff was awesome! The cleaning ladies were very helpful. The room was great and parking was good. Seemed to be a safe area.
- 3/5
We were on the 2nd floor and there was no elevator, so we had to haul all our stof up stairs.
- 5/5
Nice and clean

- 4/5
The room was ready for us. They were helpful and it was hassle free to check in and out. We did not use the pool. The breakfast was ok- the only hot meal was waffles you can make yourself. Otherwise there was cereal, muffins, or yogurt. Not a lot of variety. The facility is a bit old and outdated. The bathroom was spacious more so than I’ve seen in any hotel before! Overall our stay was exactly what we needed.
- 5/5
This was a very nice motel. It was in wonderful condition. They had a good breakfast. Staff was very nice. I would definitely stay again.
- 3/5
To cold for pool. The room smell like dust. Mattress was hard.
- 3/5
Room was clean, bed comfortable, and good location. Cookies upon arrival. Building is old. Beware no elevator!!! Affordable price. Didn't try breakfast. Wonderful front desk.
- 5/5
Staff very kind and helpful! Big, quiet comfortable room. We enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
Everything was clean

No elevator
- 5/5
Very clean and the staff is very friendly
- 5/5
This was the third time in a month we've stayed here, and we 've been coming back for several reasons. Robert and his staff were fabulous—always friendly, helpful, and accommodating—thank you so much for your hospitality! We greatly appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel, and the price was right.
- 3/5
Room-bed. Better breakfast
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful, friendly, concerned for you.
- 4/5
The room and bathroom were clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the breakfast…the orange juice was very watery and the waffle tasted…well, awful. We’ll stay here again, though.
- 5/5
It’s always the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms.
- 4/5
The staff at this hotel are always courteous and welcoming. The rooms are always clean. The only complaint I have is there is not an available electric outlet in the rest room. You are forced to use an outlet in the room to flat iron your hair, that would be ok but there’s no mirror close to the desk. If you are going to continue having the blow dryer that you can’t unplug please consider putting a mirror above the desk so we ladies can see what we’re doing to get pretty. Thanks.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
All my stays are a 5+. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. In all my years using this hotel I’ve never had a bad experience. Robert is my favorite but all the others rank high as well.
- 5/5
Great beds & employees at all the ones I have stayed & I always choose Quality Inn if I stay in a Hotel. Love them

Clean room, good breakfast!
- 5/5
Love me some Robert. He’s pretty much the reason I always stay at this particular hotel. Room 114 was excellent. No rattling HVAC, clean room, nice water pressure. I’ll ask for this room again.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 3/5
Easy parking. Exit was close to room & vehicle.
- 1/5
Bathroom was dirty, mold. Tub was very slippery we asked for a bath mat but never got one. Refrigerator hummed. My bedsheet had a blood spot on it.

Parking was safe

Very friendly staff. Clean room and good location.
- 5/5
Hotel was clean and staff very friendly
- 5/5
The front desk person was very friendly and efficient. Room was very clean looked like it had been updated recently. The breakfast area was clean and well- stocked. The only complaints are that there was no hot food except for a waffle maker and no flavored coffee creamer. Overall a very positive experience. Would stay again.
- 4/5
Good location, clean, up to date I asked for a receipt and they said they couldn’t give me one, and house keeping came too early

Nellie & Karen both need a raise! EXCELLENT EMPLOYEES!! Comfortable bed. Hotel is a little older but clean.
- 4/5
Convenient and easy parking
- 3/5
Very noisy, next to major road ways. Uncomfortable pillows. Very limited breakfast selection… only waffles and cereal.
- 5/5
The front desk team was very polite and even suggested a couple of places to visit while we were on our vacation. We only stayed for one night but it was very pleasant.
- 5/5
Nice

lady opened our door for us as our hands were full! So very kind and thoughtful!

Very enjoyable stay. Staff is cordial, friendly abd accommodating. Clean room and good location. Highly recommend it.
- 5/5
Great tv
- 4/5
The place was very clean and staff was friendly. Robert Pineda who greets you with a smile at the front desk was an exceptional host. Anything my husband and I asked about the hotel or area was answered with a warm kind smile. In today’s world you can’t always find that.

Not much positive to say. Requested different room on check in as we found the room open and bath towel on bed - used - and bed looked like one of staff took a nap. A bit dilapidated and not very clean. Overpriced for the metro area
- 5/5
Had a leak in my room and was upgraded without having to ask to be moved. Staff was super nice and very helpful.
- 4/5
nice
- 2/5
Bugs in the bathroom
- 4/5
Pretty clean place, nice rooms over all
- 5/5
We were traveling from Georgia for an church anniversary service and stayed at Quality Inn, Robert the check in person was very nice and made sure we had what we needed. When we checked out we had the same man, Robert, he was very nice and friendly. When we come again to Summerville we would more likely stay here again.
- 5/5
Ease of check in
- 4/5
Rocking chairs out front. Nice to relax after long days.
- 2/5
The rooms are severely outdated and unclean, the entire property was infested with bugs they were even in our car when we went out to leave
- 3/5
The staff is very nice and helpful (especially Robert). The lobby is very clean, breakfast is not bad. The sleeping rooms, hallways, stairs are dreadfully in need of a deep clean, repair/replacement. No elevator (no warning), ice machine doesn't work, no stopper for the bathtub - just a bit disappointing compared to the photos.
- 3/5
The reception and lobby were fine. The room air conditioner was loud, and the bed was not comfortable.
- 3/5
Bad atmosphere.
- 5/5
Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 2/5
Free breakfast was lowsy. They didn't have bagels, toast, or eggs. Only waffles, dry cereal, yogurt and lowsy tasting mini sausage buscuits. The juice fountain only had orange and apple juice which tasted awful. The front desk clerk was very friendly and nice to talk with but I won't stay here again.
- 3/5
The staff was really nice. The property is older, but clean and very affordable for quick stay. It is right off I-26 and convenient for food, shopping and activities in the Charleston area.
- 5/5
It was perfect for what we needed!
- 3/5
No
- 4/5
Great stay for a quick trip as a couple.
- 4/5
Convenient location. No elevator
- 5/5
We were only there one night but we had a nice clean room. We will definitely stay again
- 5/5
Very nice room. Service was great. Breakfast was good.
- 4/5
Bed ruffle was OBVIOUSLY stained from recent "activity". Door key wouldn't open outside door. Pool was gooey on the bottom. Room smelled horrible. But staff was friendly
- 5/5
Good experience
- 4/5
It was good
- 5/5
Good basic hotel. Could use a facelift.
- 3/5
Only had two towels and washcloths in room with 4 people. When I asked for more at the desk, the worker told me they were all out. Said we’d have to wait til the wash was done
- 3/5
Dated, needs some improvements, carpet needs cleaned. Not much of a breakfast selection. Sheets and towels were fresh, staff was pleasant.
- 5/5
Everything was expected. Only one poor aspect, only stairs. Being over 65 and have a disability, had to over come up sing stairs.
- 3/5
Pool was dirty. Ice machine on 2nd floor was broken. No elevator.
- 4/5
Good stay. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable
- 4/5
The woman working the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
good location lots of reataurants near.
- 5/5
Housekeeping and staff were very nice!
- 3/5
The staff was very nice and it was somewhat decent. Our shower head sucked and the toilet had a hard time flushing. The beds were not very comfortable either. But if you’re wanting something cheap and not expecting much then this is perfect.
- 5/5
Awww! My two-night stay was actually very good. At first, it was problematic. However, the kind front desk assistant (sorry, I didn't get her name) was kind enough to place me in another room, and my second night was restful and peaceful. I've stayed many times at this particular hotel when having medical procedures, and I won't hesitate to stay again. It's now swanky, but it was good and nice enough to accomplish what I needed on my many visits.
- 3.5/5
The floor hadn't been cleaned because there was bits of trash and bottle cap on floor. The bottom of the bathtub was old and very Grey. It needed resurfacing?
- 3/5
Did not like the fact that I spent over $200 and also had to pay to park at the hotel...should be included
- 5/5
Karen always asked if i needed extra Towels or Toilet Paper. She was very knowledgable about the Area as well. The Room was Super clean & the Bed was very comfortable. It was my very 1st time in South Carolina & i would definitely return to this Hotel.
- 3.5/5
My wife and I liked the area of the location. The friendliness of the staff. It was not bad for the price. I did not like the smell of our room. It smelled like someone had been smoking cigarettes or marijuana in those rooms before. Before we do anything, we like to go over everything and clean ourselves. It was not too dirty. It was not bad, but the smell was awful when you would walk in. There was also cookies in our AC?.... so that might have also been the cause of the smell. The side door to get into the building does not lock. You could pull it open without using your key. That made us feel unsafe, but otherwise, it was not a bad stay for 2 nights.

- 3/5
The staff was nice and in a clean area
- 3/5
It was average.
- 5/5
Bathroom and power outlets need work. Sink faucet broken, toilet paper holder broken, handicap rail broken in tub. Outlet stopped working and needed for a CPap.
- 5/5
The desk attendant was very kind and helpful. Our stay was very pleasant.
- 4/5
Comfortable and convenient....
- 5/5
It was nice it was just a over night thing .can your have makeup towels so we wouldn't mess up your pretty white towels
- 5/5
One night stay for Bridge Run, all fine as usual.
- 5/5
Roberto was an excellent host!
- 2.5/5
Breakfast was very UNDESIRABLE The room was in bad shape! Bed wasn't very comfortable. Shower head wouldn't stay in place and the toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall

Breakfast was very UNDESIRABLE The room was in bad shape! Bed wasn't very comfortable. Shower head wouldn't stay in place and the toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall
- 4/5
The window leaked and the toilet ran, I had to flip the flap down most times when flushing
- 5/5
Its a nice stay and staff is great. They just need to make sure they keep up on things that need to be fixed
- 5/5
The cord didn't work for the cell phone(usb). So there was no way to charge the phone. Other than that, it was all great!
- 5/5
It was a very nice stay
- 4/5
Check in was fine, room clean. Breakfast was a bust, only hot food was waffles. Choice of cold items ok. Easy shot to Charleston visitor center, 20 mins. a way
- 3/5
The bathroom is way to small and needs tbe updated
- 1/5
Didn’t have hot water
- 5/5
My stay was nice. Only one issue rm 107 is an adjourning room it needs better insulation because sounds resonate. There was a flushing / rushing sound could be heard about every 30 minutes throughout the night. Robert is the best I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and they are always able to accommodate my need for a first floor room I can’t navigate stairs well.
- 5/5
The room was positive in all respects!
- 4/5
The negative is that there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom and the windows don't open to allow any fresh air in the room.
- 3/5
Nothing major. Breakfast was ok. Rooms were ok. Cracked toilet and shower but everything worked in them. The phone charging ports didn’t work and the plug in’s for the charging block I brought didn’t work. So that sucks. But overall, just meh.
- 4/5
Outdated, could use some cleaning but the staff was very nice.
- 5/5
Thw room was comfortable with the queen bed. Enjoyed having a mini fridge and coffee in the room. The breakfast was also good.
- 5/5
Clean and well kept up property. The staff was friendly and willing to help.
- 5/5
Safe quiet room at a reasonable cost
- 5/5
I didn’t like that I had to wait for the desk person check to see if the room was ready
- 3/5
Room needed maintenance. Stopper on sink didn't work. Shower head was spraying everywhere. Towlet seat was loose. Terrible traffis noise. Contenital breakfast was less than desirable.
- 5/5
I would like to add that the mgr. Robert has consistently gone over and above to make my stay enjoyable. He is an asset to your company for sure. There are some amenities available and the location is great, hey walking distance to Wallyworld and a bunch of food choices too.
- 5/5
Pleasant
- 3/5
Did not have have enough hot enough water to shower. It was nice enough for one night.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Close to everything
- 5/5
Was a very peaceful and quiet stay...my room was clean and very comfortable...breakfast was good also, the staff was very friendly! I will definitely be staying in the near future
- 5/5
Everyone was so friendly and helpful. There are a few signs of she but it was clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Very nice and clean! Can checkout at noon! Pool was very much enjoyed. Only downside is there were no elevators but there’s only a second floor so not bad
- 1/5
The front desk staff was amazing! The first room I stayed in was 119 and it was infested with roaches and had spiders. Next I was moved to room 110 and the floor was soaked with water from the air conditioning unit and it had aunts coming out of the unit. After I moved from that room I went to room 106 and it was fairly clean, had one bed and the toilet was very loud after being flushed. All of this took place around 7/8 pm and I had two sleepy children with me. I took pictures and videos of all the bugs and the condition of the room and showed them to the front desk attendant. The next day the housekeepers even told me that room 119 was infested and the room was nasty. If the hotel staff knew this why even put me and my children in this room? I requested a refund through Expedia and they informed me that they could not get in contact with the manager from the hotel so I would not be able to get a refund. This is ridiculous that I had to go through this with my two children and can not even get some of my money back. Expedia did not advocate for me enough and they should question their partnership with this hotel if they can not maintain clean rooms. I understand things happen but the hotel and Expedia should take accountability and refund my money for this awful experience at this hotel.
- 2/5
Check in was good. When we got to the room, we noticed the bathroom wasn’t clean, used soap was in the tub. Cabinet, drawer and fridge had roaches. Only stayed for one night.
- 4/5
Yhe room met my needs for one night. Reasonably priced with packaged breakfast included. Fine for a short stay.
- 5/5
Great place to stay with a family!
- 5/5
Nice room quiet , friendly staff, breakfast was available and good. Close to shopping. Visityfamiky so convenient. Will come again
- 2/5
Run down in many areas. Poor maintenance.
- 5/5
Staff were really nice.
- 5/5
Very clean. Excellent location. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Clean and quiet
- 5/5
The manager and staff and really friendly and very helpful.
- 3/5
No elevator on property. Also my first room smelled like cigarette smoke, even though the hotel is non-smoking. They gave us another room.
- 4/5
Thanks!
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Everything was grest love Robert ❤️
- 4/5
No problem with check in. Beds comfortable and room clean
- 3/5
The hotel does not have an elevator, so it was difficult for people with mobility issues. The building entrance and hallways were extremely warm, which I know its the south, but they also had the doors propped open so it was very uncomfortable. Even the next morning at breakfast with the front doors shut, it was still uncomfortable. The rooms were ok, the beds were comfy and the pillows were oddly small but comfy, but our bathroom was not as good. Wallpaper peeling, splatters of stuff on the walls, dirt built up in the corners and soap/hair caked on in the tub. My childrens feet were dirty from walking on the room floor. The breakfast was subpar as well. Packaged Muffins, yogurt, microwavable sausage biscuit things, packets of oatmeal and waffles. The kids liked the waffles
- 4/5
Free Breakfast was listed to waffles and only one iron
- 5/5
Very nice stay. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful. We would definitely stay again.
- 3/5
The most damaging part of this review lies with the desk clerk who checked us in. She was not only rude and obnoxious but also borderline confrontational. I have never experienced anyone like that in my entire life at a position of such importantance for a hotel. Totally unacceptable and you can bet I will never stay here again.
- 2/5
The good…convenient to shopping. The bad…the bathroom sink remained clogged even after reporting it to the front desk…and the desk attendant at the time said “well, I’ll note it but I only work here one day a week. so what he was really saying is, I’ve had very little training and I’m so ignorant I don’t know how to report anything anywhere. Next, the air conditioning system was so loud. I got no sleep… Also reported to the front desk, same answer. Next, the air pressure in the valves for the shower would bank so loud it would shake everything. Next, the breakfast SUCKS! If you are 200 pounds overweight and wish to remain so, this is your haven, carbs only, little or no protein! And finally, if you choose to stay on the upper floor to avoid people walking over your head, be prepared to slip your own bags, there are no elevators! Bottom line, I’m trying to think of a worst night day… Can’t think of one off the top of my head!
