Diablo Mountain Inn - Walnut Creek

I would suggest that the property management consider installing better electrical outlets as my iPhone charger kept slipping down and out of the socket. I reported this to the front desk while I was there as I had trouble keeping my iPhone charged during my stay and had to depend on charging it in my car rental.

We always stay here when visiting relatives in the area. It’s not fancy but is always clean and comfortable with a friendly and helpful staff. It also has easy access to freeways, restaurants, and shopping. Highly recommend.

Located close to everything, however, traffic was very loud.

In the center of Walnut Creek. A very good location for anything in or around the town. Refurbished to good standards - not a luxury hotel but a good basic place to stay. A little noisy from the freeway not too far from the hotel.

With so many good tea and coffee places and bakeries (Model Bakery!), we did not miss having a hotel buffet breakfast that is often subpar. We have a new favorite when visiting our family in the Walnut Creek area.

The room was not clean. The bed sheets were dirty, the towels had yellow stains on them and the room was full of gnats!

The room was clean but the bathroom needs some upgrades. Traffic noise was an issue for certain rooms facing the street and freeway overpass.

Stayed at Diablo Mountain Inn for 3 nights and everything was really great. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The staff was so friendly and so nice. This is a great place to stay in a great location. Highly recommend.

Staff were nice, the rooms are average, the AC/heat makes a lot of noise. We were there only 1 night so we did not make a big deal out of it. You get what u pay for.

All in all a nice stay even though not an upscale experience. Front office was nice and welcoming.The bed was comfortable, Convenient bathroom and closet facilities. Heater difficult to adjust and noisy. Parking right in front of the room. No breakfast but Noah's was right down the street!

They are always super helpful. I come here a lot for work and I don’t have to worry about noise or not getting enough sleep!

The Inn itself is nice and the service was good. It’s just right next to a highway. The noise in the room with the windows and door shut wasn’t too bad, but outside it was pretty loud.

I felt I found a hidden gem in the East Bay and will stay there when ever I visit again!

Definitely worth the money. I had a family event in Lafayette so it was really close. The only downside was the traffic noise from the highway and from Mt Diablo Blvd, but not a deal breaker by any means.

Due to weather and a late flight we were unable to come the first night. Not only did they say no to a discount or refund. They argued with us for an hour. We were at one hotel at 2 am and were charged 200. The one from hotel.com we were charged full price. He did give us reduced price for next two night that were much better then hotel.com price

Clean and comfy hotel at a great rate. The service was wonderful! One of the guys at the front desk was really helpful, which made me feeling well taken care of. Would definitely stay here again.

Person who checked us in was quick courteous and informative. The check in lobby had a strong stench, I couldn’t wait to finish with check in to leave. The room at check in had a stench that seemed to have been covered up by a fragrance. The room was muggy and needed to be aired out. Floor felt dirty but looked clean. I didn’t want to go barefoot. The bed sheets were not comfortable. The mattress was not comfortable to sleep on. There were 3 flat pillows for 2 people. I woke up with bug bites (hopefully not bedbugs but idk).

Clean room but freeway traffic keeps it noisy at night. Front door could have had better weatherstripping: gaps allow light and noise to enter. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The owner shared her history as manager of the property, ideas for meals nearby. Her son was equally kind and hepgul, as the maid staff. We were happy with the location and the value. I could get up early and wak to coffee and and best bakery ever, Model Bakery

It was a cleaned and comfortable space. The receptionist when we arrived put a bit of pressure for us to be there before 9pm which was weird for us since it’s a hotel. Morning staff was very friendly

The Inn is clean and has big rooms. The highway is so close by that it is really noisy, but between the rooms it is well insulated. Pillows and sheets needs revamp but all the rest was great.

I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting family. Although it is a somewhat dated motel, it was clean, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. Perfectly fine for my purposes although $128 seemed a bit on the higher side considering the overall accommodations. Location is excellent, close to freeways and center of town.

Check in was a breeze. They gave me my room a bit earlier than usual which was appreciated. Facilities are clean. The room has a ref and microwave which is a nice addition.

The staff were outstandingly helpful and friendly, the room was very comfortable, quiet and clean. I particularly like the choice of wall artwork- cool but not aggressively gaudy:). The set-up of the room was really perfect for comfort and ease of use. Friendly with my dogs, which was important. Also, nice, safe, quiet, pleasant and convenient area.

The Diablo Mountain Inn is a clean, simple motel conveniently located near highways 680 and 24 in Walnut Creek. The rooms are spacious and have everything we need, including a microwave and fridge.

I have stayed here multiple times and overall, really like this hotel. The location is ideal and has a reasonable price. They also take the time to follow up and see how your visit was. I definitely recommend this hotel!

I didn’t stay and was charged for all nights booked. I had vehicle trouble and never made it to the airport to be able to fly to the hotel location.

I have stayed here before and was really impressed the first time. This visit left much to be desired, specifically, cleanliness wise. I will stay here again, just disapointed to know it is hit or miss.

The bed was worn out. They used a strong beach on the bedding that gave me a headache. I usually don’t give bad reviews. I definitely would not stay again.

The room was very nice. I liked the way it was decorated and appreciated all the amenities for the price, such as makeup remover wipes, plenty of coffee, a fridge, microwave, working lamps (I swear I have stayed so many places where the lamps dont work), windows that actually open all the way, multiple trash cans, plenty of towels, a big TV, spacious closet and more. Also, their soaps pump from dispensers so there isn't a bunch of wasted little plastic bottles. I wil definitely book again!

I didn’t like this place at all. Very bad first impression from the front desk. Bad customer service and not only that, you have to fill out all this forms ( is like taking a test) but wait!!! Once you checkout .. they keep you in the office until they make sure that your room is in good condition (basically you can’t leave until they go back to your room )!!! before giving you back your deposit. This is not a place for young people at all never the less for little kids.

Property was decent for an Inn and the price. Walls & ceilings paper thin could hear every footstep from second floor. Toilet seat cover falling apart/peeling. Free parking was a plus. No free breakfast as advertised on Expedia. Very close to highway but way too far from San Francisco if you plan to commute to the city.

Nice clean boutique hotel. Checking was a breeze and bed was comfy. I stay in many different hotels for work and this was a nice change than the usual large chain hotels.

Did not get to stay in our 2 nights reservation, had an family emergency call and we had to leave after the first night.

We previously had a negative experience at a chain hotel in this town. We were very fearful of our car being broken into. This off brand hotel was very safe and clean and in a much less busy area. Highly recommend for those visiting family in Rossmoor

Mount Diablo Inn was a lovely place to stay after a lengthy journey from the U.K. Check in was quick and the staff member very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. Parking is right outside the room.

We needed a spot in Walnut Creek close to a friend's condo. The Inn is not much to look at from the outside, but the rooms are much better than the exterior appearance. They are all laminate (no gross carpet) and renovated. The bed was super firm (which I like). It's in a very convenient location. There is traffic noise from the highways, but I like white noise, so it was not an issue.

Great place to overnight. Near freeway, shopping, eateries.

The water pressure in shower is excellent.

Nice cozy Inn. Easy to find and right in hear5 of Walnut Creek with lots to do all around. Ample parking and room was clean with lots of amenities. No issues with anything. Very quiet property.

Nothing too fancy here; only the basics….however, the basics here are DONE VERY WELL. Helpful front desk staff. Only annoyance is the sound of cars speeding down a very busy street nearby.

It was a good Motel. It is very close to the Highway, but the noise didn't bother me. The area looked safe. The motel and the room was tidy and clean. There was a fridge and a microwave in the room. We had a good night sleep in there for a decent price, and had breakfast at Black Bear Diner which is just a short drive away.

An alternative to the multi-room, multi-floor mid range options indeed, but very basic amenities and noisy heaters. Friendly staff.

Diablo Mountain Inn was a pleasant place for us to stay while visiting family in the area. We just needed a comfy and clean room and that is what this Inn provided. I was worried about the close proximity of the freeway, but it proved not to be a problem.

The management and staff were very helpful, I lost my key after hours and the manager found a new one within a couple of minutes,other front desk staff helped me navigate my way around Walnut Creek.

I liked staying at this Inn. The Staff were friendly and the location is nice. There’s a nice cafe next to it and everything I needed was within a mile or two of where it was. I was also surprised at the size of the bathroom in my unit. They’re gigantic! Definitely would stay here again if given the chance.
