Reviews
Guests generally appreciate the cleanliness, comfort, and convenience of the hotel, as well as the friendly and helpful staff. However, many express frustration with the mandatory valet parking and its associated cost, as well as issues with room amenities and maintenance.

Front Desk had exceptional service

Nothing to report about this location.
- 3/5
The hotel is quite dated and needs to be improved, the room was lacking ambience, the walls are bare with only one big picture of a tree stump over the bed and no other artwork and the room and halls are dark and need more lighting. The bathroom has an old feeling, there is mold on some of the tile grout particularly along the base of the tub, the bathroom walls are also bare with one knob to hang a wet towel and nowhere to hang a hand towel. The closet is dark and difficult to see the contents of the safe. The door to the bathroom is awful as it is hung like a barn door and when opened blocks the closet, I hit my wife several times coming out of the bathroom and the door ran over my toes while I was standing in front of the closet. The food was disappointing, overpriced and not of the quality or taste you would expect from a worldwide hotel. The staff was outstanding, except for the bartender was very social with the bar patrons rather than serving the patrons in the lounge area. I would recommend staying anywhere other than a the Walnut Creek Marriott.
- 2/5
I was surprised by the valet chaos. One evening we dropped our car at the valet as is required and our phone app for the car alerted us an hour later that the ignition was still on. We were already ready for bed but the front desk couldn't help by calls so we had to go down and check. It was jam packed full of unparked cars with a short staffed valet service (they told us they need 8 valets!). Second issue was our window faced directly opposite two apartment building balconies so we had zero privacy unless all blinds down. Third minor issue was the whole in room coffee service was located no where near an outlet. There are other hotel choices without these problems.
- 3/5
Valet parking was confusing and delayed checking
- 2/5
This was misleading and untruthful. The food was also very limited, especially for a healthy eater. The billing was misleading an confusing. My final bill shows no charges. So, am going ot have to work on figuring out my expenses. The room was nice, though not worth the effort.
- 5/5
Overall, starting with the customer service desk open to resolve and satisfy my needs for a stay at the hotel. Great!!!
- 4/5
All good.
- 1/5
We initially planned getting an uber to our event but because we were unable to check into our room we ended up having to take back our bags and drive to the event. This caused us to have to get ready at the event site. Upon our return to the hotel there was only one working valet and traffic was backed up onto North Main Street. Although the valet gentleman was pleasant and apologetic it was absolute chaos. In addition to this our room was not held even though we made multiple attempts to check in. Therefore, we were placed in what was said to be “the last ‘king’ room available.” This room was not only the smallest and most awkwardly decorated room, the bed size was a queen! Further attempts to get a king room were met with inexcusable justifications from the night crew. In addition to the inhospitable customer service and terrible room, the hotel bar and restaurant were closed! During weekends, there is absolutely no excuse to have your bar/restaurant closed for a majority of the day. All in all, 0/10. Improvements need to be made.
- 5/5
did not use either
- 5/5
We stayed here just for one night for my cousin’s wedding. The hotel was clean. The rooms were comfortable and beautiful. Staff was polite and accommodating would definitely stay here !
- 5/5
Excellent hotel, friendly, helpful staff.

- 4/5
Room was large with a great view, had a problem with the glass door and it was fixed quickly.
- 4/5
Refill the soap container in the bathroom more oftern
- 3/5
There was a special event “Quinceañera “ party and teens were loud, disrespectful and a complete nuisance. Completely lacking supervision. Hotel security did not take any action.
- 5/5
Very nice staff and the hotel is very clean
- 3/5
The property was located downtown. Convenient to restraunts and bars. Our room was ok, it was a little old and a little worn down. It was a non smoking room but smelt like smoke. For me personally I like to park my car and have access to it. Here you had no other option but to Valet and that not my jam.
- 5/5
Great location friendly staff Nothing
- 3/5
Our stay at the Marriott Walnut Creek was overall good. The staff were all nice and helpful. The front desk, valet, and cleaning staff were friendly. We were disappointed by the room. We chose this hotel because the room pictures looked spacious and showed a large window, and the hotel looked nice overall. We reserved a room with a king bed. We were given a small room behind the elevator with a small window that faced an indoor wall, and people could walk up to our window and see into the room, specifically right over the bed, so we had to keep it closed the whole visit. The room had an awkward layout with lots of angles that felt cramped. The floor pieces were coming apart, showing whatever was under the wood panels. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was good. The location was convenient for walking to the BART. The hotel itself did not seem overly full, so we are not sure why we got this small corner room.
- 4/5
Good hotel to stay at, clean, and friendly staff. Only thing that is disliked is that there is no self parking, you have to valet your car and pay. Expense 35 each day is a lot.
- 2/5
The staff were terrible making this experience a terrible one. From the moment we checked in, it seemed that the attitude from the staff was somewhat hostile and argumentative. When I called the front desk to request something, I was told that the staff person was alone in the reception and couldn't come up. I was asked to come to the front desk to get what I needed. The room service order was not delivered accurately. The person delivering explained that he delivered what was on his ticket. An item I ordered, for some reason, did not appear in his ticket, but it was present on my bill. Instead of finding a solution, the guy argued with me.
- 5/5
The Manager was awesome! It was mine and my wife’s anniversary and the manager had sent up and bottle of wine for me and my wife and made me and my wife feel very welcomed! The rooms were very nice ! The only thing I would say they could do a little better at is cleaning their furniture some of it looked a little worn down. Also I didn’t know that it was a Valet only hotel that you pay for every night and there’s no free parking.
- 4/5
Hotel was lovely. The restaurant seemed understaffed but our waiter on both nights, same gentleman, was terrific. He was running on Friday night, the night I had 3 young grandsons with me. I felt for him. I wish he had help.
- 4/5
Valet service was efficient and friendly. Parking was expensive.
- 3/5
Internet and phone in the room did not work.
- 5/5
Clesn
- 3/5
The room we were given at check in was an ADA room. Therefore, there was nowhere to hang my dresses. The room was dark and depressing and faced other rooms so I w couldn’t leave the drapes open (bad setup!) The front staff and valets were kind.
- 3/5
Rooms are dark and need some kind of brightness. Bathroom needs remodeling. Rooms are small.
- 4/5
bathroom needs to be updated, rooms are very small, is not as it shows in the pictures. Room is super dark. I put all the small toy LED lights that they have in the room and barely you can see anything in your room. Bring a flash light or plug-in lights if you want more light in your room.
- 5/5
Clean, friendly staff, convenient location.
- 3/5
Place was decent but not amazing. We got the room toward the end and wasn't able to sleep from the noise in the stairway cause from the staff worker opening and closing the door.
- 5/5
Perfect place to stay with extra perks like breakfast
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Everyone was very nice. The breakfast was great with a nice view on our floor. great location.
- 5/5
I received excellent service by Front Desk Elbert during check in. Great customer service!
- 4/5
Great staff and room service. Breakfast was not great. Bar was awesome. There is no EV charging station on site and valet parking is mandatory not optional at an extra $35/ night, plus tips.
- 1/5
the room they gave us was windowless for some reason, they have the coffee setup in a way where its unusable unless you physically move furniture. its next to the fridge and tv and those are the only plugs available so you have to unplug one of them to plug in the coffee maker, the bathroom toilet was also acting up the minute we walked in.
- 4/5
Comfortable room and Valet excellent
- 3/5
Hotel was great. The only issue was that out
- 4/5
Staff at check-in was somewhat Grumpy and not very helpful. We found out later that performance reviews were given earlier that day. The room with 2 beds was very small and cramped. The valet parking was handled well, but came with a $35 per day fee.
- 4/5
The staff was nice, breakfast was good and gym was clean. Pool was under maintenance for half hour stay.
- 1/5
Some staff were friendly like the concierge breakfast on the 6th floor. Valet drive your car like it’s their personal buckets l, executive suite is just a large outdated dump ! Ac doesn’t work in entire room, main tv didn’t connect to internet and the guide for the cable channels is nit updated. Tile in the shower is uneven so it ends up hurting your feet to stand in the shower. The toilet seems like an Amazon special or from temu. There is a skylight in the bathroom which looks cool but it’s filthy inside and out and brings in a crazy amount of noise. Overall 2 star experience
- 4/5
Good location
- 4/5
Didn’t eat there
- 3/5
I guess I didn’t realize this prior to reviewing the hotel and booking, however this was the main location that the bride wanted us to stay in. Here are my cons: 1. The room has no proper closet. I had a long dress and my husband had his suit that needed to be hung. The “closet” starts half way in the middle and is underneath a shelf. So if we hung our items. They would be dragging on the floor. 2. Zero counter space in the bathroom and the mirror is what I needed to do my makeup. I couldn’t do my makeup anywhere else in the room because the lighting is so bad. So if you need to get ready, this isn’t the hotel space to do it unless you have a president suite. 3. We had our kids with us and the pool was out of order unfortunately. 4. I personally do not like the body wash or shampoo/conditioner Pros: 1. The shower has good water pressure and gets hot fast 2. The bed was comfortable 3. They provide lots of towels and wash clothes
- 5/5
clean room
- 3/5
- Room is tired - restroom wallpaper is pealing - tea & coffee in room was very low (1 of each) - Sliding doors to the patio & window is extreme dirty - valet guys were hui g but it took 20 minutes to get my car on Saturday morning. - cleanliness of overall property needs attention. - morning coffee station in lobby was empty & messy.
- 4/5
Nice hotel, not the most plush or modern Marriott, but it is clean and the location is convenient. It's a little hard to get in and out of as you can only enter on Main, not Parkside, which requires you to head down a ways before you can make a U turn if approaching the hotel from the south. Also, our room had a lovely view of a wall which affects every room in the north wing facing east and east wing facing north. Be forewarned.
- 5/5
Clean and spacious room
- 5/5
Very professional, the staff actually provided customer service and was very attentive.
- 5/5
Bright clean hotel. Staff were nice and helpful !
- 1/5
We checked in and the Room was damp, floor boards was raised at the ends from the dampness. No air filtration system in the rooms and felt like I was out of oxygen. We immediately asked reception to move us and they change our room to another room exactly the same so we decided to cancel our reservation and try and find another place. We found a room at residence inn at Wallnut creek and room was decent.
- 2.5/5
I could hear loud noise from people talking since the balcony is facing the lobby downstairs. There is a gap even after the balcony door is closed and no sound proof.
- 3/5
The value was not there. They provided within the price a room to sleep in, which is what we could have gotten at a cheaper place. Breakfast not included with the costly price of the room, ⁵ i felt like that was a very cheap way to go for a supposed nice expensive place. I normally don't stay at s place like this but it was the closest to my nephew. Pricing was way to expensive. I was disappointed and won't stay there again. I need more for my money.
- 5/5
Cons: N/A Would definitely stay there again!
- 4/5
Hotel is convenient, clean and staff are friendly. Breakfast omelette service was slow, used carton eggs and fruit juice was out of date hence a less than perfect score.
- 5/5
We were visiting for a basketball tournament and stayed one night. Breakfast was a buffet could’ve been better but for a quick continental breakfast, it worked. Room was a little tight, but again just for one night we managed as a family of four.
- 5/5
The parking is problematic if you are trying to get somewhere by a certain time. There is only 1 way in and 1 way out. Unfortunately, I had to go through a housing community to get to the “In Only” entrance and when I left this morning I had to go through the same housing community to get to where I was going. It was frustrating as I was headed to work and ended up not giving myself enough time.

Fine for short, inexpensive stay Be prepared for minimum comfort, hard mattress and expensive lousy breakfast.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room, close to shopping/dinner
- 5/5

but the lighting was dark
- 5/5
Clean and spacious rooms. Great staff.
- 5/5
Most comfortable friendly hotel staff and valet services. Love the dog friendly environment. Will return when visiting family again.
- 1/5
Lukewarm water in the shower, noisy and very poorly insulated walls. Rooms are not carpeted in case you prefer carpeting. They do not disclose a $35 parking fee per night until check-in.
- 5/5
Most of the staff were amazing, the WiFi was great and the cleanliness of the room was top notch.
- 5/5
👍
- 5/5
Mandatory valet parking.
- 3/5
Electronic clock on night stand has strong blue light which really interrupts my sleep
- 5/5
The front desk was extremely courteous and helpful. They remembered me as I came and went during my stay and always had something friendly to say. My room was cleaned every day and the cleaning staff were very friendly.
- 5/5
Great hotel and staff
- 5/5
Great staff and hotel was very nice
- 3/5
Taken aback by only being able to valet my car. Charge was very high and service level to drop off and pick up was poor at best. Would not stay here again due to added valet parking cost and the associated poor service
- 5/5
Absolutely Wonderful Hotel! Really enjoyed the Bar with Robert the Bartender & Lalo was great in his service in the Restaurant !
- 3/5
No complimentary breakfast and only has valet which is $35 a night. Have to plan accordingly with that
- 5/5
Great, will stay again
- 4/5
Nice clean room
- 5/5
Great stay in a good neighborhood. Bar in lobby as well as a restaurant. Clean comfortable room
- 5/5
No it was great!!
- 5/5
Service was excellent from beginning to end
- 3/5
Staff was nice
- 5/5
Good food at the restaurant and comfortable room.
- 3/5
Understaffed at dining and lounge area
- 2/5
Certain amenities were completely unavailable without any prior warning.
- 1/5
Unfortunately, our neighbors were loud, intoxicated, and awake most of the night. We could hear them talking continuously, opening food, playing music, and generally carrying on well into the early morning hours. Even after they finally fell asleep, they left music playing all night. This wasn’t just a noise issue with other guests, it felt like the hotel has no soundproofing whatsoever. A hotel stay should at least allow for rest, and that simply wasn’t possible here. If you’re a light sleeper or value a quiet room, I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere. I won’t be returning and would not recommend this hotel to anyone hoping to get a good night’s sleep.
- 2/5
Air conditioner didn’t work
- 5/5
No shops but parking isn’t the best
- 4/5
Rooms were clean but outdated.
- 5/5
Great location - close to Main St. shops and coffee culture.
- 4/5
(1) Non-slip bathtub surface is worn out, slippery & dangerous. To avoid slipping and falling, we placed a towel on the tub floor. (2) There is NO exhaust fan in the bathroom to exhaust hot, humid, moist air while showering, and to avoid fogged over mirrors.
- 5/5
Clean room, comfortable, nice shower, good spaces.
- 5/5
.
- 3/5
It was a good stay. However, the bar didn’t open until 4 PM on Saturday and the service was a bit slow. We needed linens for the pull out bed and was delivered the wrong items. We had to call down to the front desk an embarrassing amount of times. We never want to be annoying but the items simply weren’t coming. We had to stay up for an hour and half awaiting sheets since the pull out mattress didn’t have linens.
- 4.5/5
Only thing I can nitpick at is the valet parking. There is no free parking.
- 5/5
Shower was just ok
- 4/5
It was well located. The reception was friendly. Room was clean and the ac unit was quiet!
- 4/5
Oh, only valet parking at $34 a night per car. No where close to park except on the street... with a meter and a 3 hr limit. Although valet offers 24 hr service and in and out is allowed.
- 2/5
Bad room #578 had an awkward design, the lighting was poor with a section of the room without light, the coffee maker had to be moved to the far right to access the electrical outlet, the bedsheet had a hole in it, the shower was probably one of the worse I’ve experienced - the water wasn’t hot enough, no magnifying mirror, the bar and restaurant areas were far too cold for comfort, the parking charge was not disclosed until checkout.
- 3.5/5
The very best experience was working with Marquis the car valet. Google Maps had me turn in the Exit Only to the Valet Entrance and Marquis was extra accommodating the error. Then I left my phone in the car and he brought it to me in the lobby. He has a servant’s heart! What an incredible attitude. No light in the closet area. Scrambled eggs on the weekend buffet were dried out.
- 5/5
The team was nice… the room and hallways could use an upgrade. Valet is pricey but convenient
- 5/5
Lovely hotel
- 5/5
The room was nice, and clean. Staff was friendly, and checking in and out was easy.
- 5/5
Very comfortable bed and friendly staff
- 3/5
The staff was excellent and responded immediately. However, the room lacked information about the internet codes, there was no luggage rack, no notepad to write on, and no welcome brochure. Furthermore, it was a total surprise to me that the valet parking was mandatory.
- 5/5
Very nice room, staff was very welcoming I wish they had better parking option but it wasn’t a deterrent for me to find the hotel quite nicely.
- 5/5
Convenient
- 5/5
What really made our stay memorable was the exceptional customer service. The valet team was efficient and friendly, and the front desk staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. Hospitality like this makes a difference. Thank you for a great experience!
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Clean and updated room. Nice lobby and valet parking.
- 5/5
Everything was smooth with the whole experience. The cookie and extra water bottles at check-in was a nice touch!
- 5/5
hotel and staff was excellent however to get a direct phone number was an arduous task not on web site goes to the most obnoxious ai voice that you had to finally insult to get a real person and then they told you to contact the hotel directly. She was nice to provide
- 5/5
The nice Staff. And The Nice Clean Room
- 4/5
Friendly staff, clean accomodations
- 5/5
The room was great and clean. Affordable. Internet was great. Nice restaurant and bar. on the night we didn't ant to go out and eat. The only "issue" was the remote control to the TV was a bit hard to use...so not really a big deal.
- 4/5
It was close to the places we were going. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. I liked that there was a small refrigerator and a coffee maker in the room. The elevator came quickly. The lobby was beautiful. The valet parking staff was reliable and courteous, but I prefer self parking. I didn’t like that you only have valet parking. I didn’t like that there was only one bedside table on one side of the bed, and no table on the other side of the bed. I didn’t like the door that slid between the bathroom and the closet. It was difficult to slide, and dangerous if you were coming out of the bathroom and didn’t know that someone was looking in the closet. I would have liked to have more stations on the television.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and staff was grate .
- 5/5
great amenities
- 5/5
Great clean hotel
- 5/5
Staff was fantastic, hotel was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
The room was comfortable and clean. The beds were comfy and the staff were very nice. We walked there from BART at about a 10 minute walk. The bar area was very nice but $18 per person for a breakfast buffet was a little steep.
- 4/5
The room was ok and the amenities was very good
- 4/5
Room was fine, staff was kind of nice
- 5/5
Staff was nice, very helpful, hallways clean and the room was very clean.
- 4.5/5
Great vostumer service
- 5/5
Amazing staff and food
- 4.5/5
Had breakfast in the restaurant this morning it was great good value good quality food. Check-in process was easy. Parking was good.! great choice for a quick staycation
- 2.5/5
Location was fine and bed was comfy. Room was dark with no daylight, ugly uncozy lighting, only two types of tea and a terrible little keurig, the hallway smelled like feet. You also have to become a bonvoy member just to have WiFi. Incredibly expensive valet parking. Overall just not worth the price.
- 4/5
Had to make a U-turn to get into the hotel
- 0.5/5
Property is clean and rooms are spacious. I was double charged for the room, manager said they would refund me 2 days after check out. It has now been 3 weeks no refund. I’ve talked to multiple staff since then left voicemails for accounting. Please know if you have any complications , this Marriott staff is not helpful, doesn’t respond in a timely manner if at all, no conflict resolution skills and apparently short staffed.
- 4/5
I didn’t know breakfast was included.
- 3/5
Staff
- 4.5/5
I have stayed at 2 other Marriott Hotels at different locations and they both had sushi appetizers. They were missed.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing, the room was clean and appealing, we also received a complimentary concierge lounge that allowed free snacks.
- 5/5
Didn’t eat there
- 4/5
Room was nice, pretty quiet other than being able to hear some kids in the hallway. Wish I would have checked before booking but this place requires you to valet your car (unless you park on the street and walk) and it was $35 + tip.
- 4/5
Full assortment of breakfast items, including Omelette, country potatoes, etc
- 4/5
The hotel itself is very nice and centrally located. The crew at the valet parking were amazing. Even though I had to pay valet because that’s the only parking available, the valet parking were exceptional. Made the stay enjoyable.
- 5/5
Clean room and parking attendant.
- 5/5
Nice room - love the laminate floors makes it feel clean. The shower pressure was amazing! Does need more counter space and there was a musky smell in the room!
- 5/5
It was the perfect spot for the holidays, clean, nice food, bar great gym, will be back.
- 5/5
Great
- 1/5
At checkout, I was told by the front desk that the company had already called and authorized payment. However, the full room charge was still placed on my card. When I called the hotel afterward to ask why, I was told the company needed to call again to authorize the charge. I’m confused as to why a second authorization is required when I was explicitly told at checkout that authorization had already been completed. The lack of clarity and follow-through made this process frustrating and stressful. It's still un resolved, so I had to go ahead and dispute the charges as it's still unclear as to if we're both charged.
- 3/5
Check-in was slow because there was only one service agent at the desk. It was Christmas Eve, but that doesn’t mean short-staffing is okay. Also off-putting is the parking situation, which is offered on the hotel property as valet-only for a charge. Otherwise, the hotel is well-maintained and comfortable for the price. Plus, the location is convenient to downtown Walnut Creek and the freeway.
- 1/5
Room was hot, did not bring up a fan or checked in on us
- 1/5
The room smelled like cigarette smoke, i pre-paid for breakfast and still had to pay,
- 5/5
Everyone was soo great at their jobs
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room with a comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Breakfast was very good. They offered a very good selection of food.
- 2/5
The Marriott hotel was clean and quiet. To get wifi requires joining their rewards program, which is silly. Also they offered early check-in if I got their app. Then the app failed to work. The breakfast was a poor value. Liquid eggs, sausage, frozen waffles, and various other refrigerator items. Nothing very special.
- 5/5
Great customer service!
- 5/5
The room was great. The staff was also great. We will be staying at that hotel in Wallnut Creek from now on.
- 5/5
Front desk staff employee was wonderful ( that is rare these days). Nice, quiet, clean.

- 5/5
Close to Bart and good restaurants
- 5/5
Great location. Comfortable rooms.
- 4/5
The room was clean
- 5/5
Excellent stay. Pleasant staff and clean spacious room in a good place in town. Very easily accessible. Very nice weekend breakfast. Nazia makes the best fresh omelets and she is very hardworking and pleasant. Daniela is a great server.
- 5/5
Nice, clean hotel
- 2/5
The parking fee of $36 is abusive. I will exhaust every option to before I ever stay at this hotel. I post reviews regarding this specific Marriott on other platforms.
- 5/5
Nice and clean
- 3/5
The hotel appears older than other Marriott’s
- 4/5
Beds were good. Quiet. But no complimentary breakfast, older hotel, guest bathroom downstairs wasn’t clean.
- 4/5
Quiet. great shower. convenient location
- 5/5
I slept like a stone in the very comfortable bed and wished I could stay for a week. Love this Marriott and it's friendly staff 😊
- 3/5
When we got to the room I realized the keys were not in the sleeve. I had to leave Mom in the wheelchair and go down to sort it out. When we got selttled in the room I realized the this was not the room I paid for. Not 2 queen beds, double. No handicap shower assessable as listed on my itemery. Small room! Not pleased!
- 1/5
Rooms so dark.. I almost hung myself
- 1/5
I tried to cancel my reservation due to something occurring out of my control. And my refund and cancellation wasn’t granted.
- 5/5
CLEAN room! Courteous staff.
- 5/5
Things were very clean. Staff was very helpful.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Nice staff. Good bar in the hotel. Nice structure.
- 4/5
Buffet breakfast was sub par overpriced for quality. Bar should open at check in. On a side note If two people check in there should be 2 waters 3 coffees extra tp roll. Zero communication regarding room service (cleaning) @ check in should be specified you must request verbally.
- 5/5
Very expensive to park
- 4/5
i did not like somebody drank the bottle water and put it back on table.
- 3/5
Bathroom is not well stocked. Four of us had to share and there were no toothpaste or floss. All day snacks were underwhelming. We asked for extra blankets online and in person on phone but very busy staff was delayed. Check in was an hour late but staff comped us a snack. However it was an unpleasant experience
- 3/5
The hotel was in a nice location near the office I was going to. IN room, TV did not work.
- 3/5
Dark room with many deferred maintenance issues
- 3/5
The room was so dark, it felt like a tomb. There were grout fingerprints on the floor where they tried to fix beige grout with dark gray. The gym was nice but they need more free weights. They force u to valet park at $34 a day. Overall the facility needs some updating. Beds were very comfortable.
- 5/5
I like the location and it’s not noisy
- 2/5
One of the worst Marriotts I have ever stayed at. Wanted to order room service on a Sunday morning and was told that room service is unavailable on the weekends. What??? Definitely will not stay there again.
- 5/5
Good breakfast but miss waffles
- 5/5
Great location, friendly staff
- 5/5
Comfortable stay in a very convenient location. Would stay again.
- 4/5
I liked everything about the visit except the $28 for parking. Though the valets were great.
- 5/5
Valet staff were awesome and accommodating. I give them 5 stars.
- 5/5
Entire staff was amazing
- 4/5
Parking too expensive
- 1/5
I travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, and this was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Here’s what happened: I woke up at 5 AM to attend a work-related event and went downstairs for breakfast. An employee followed me all the way to the restaurant and asked if I was going to have breakfast. I said yes. Once I started getting my breakfast, another staff member asked me again. I confirmed I would be eating. She then said I needed to pay $18, removed toast from my plate, unplugged the toaster, and then asked me to leave. She threatened to call the police if I did not. I was a registered guest with a credit card on file. All they needed to ask was for my room number. This treatment was unacceptable. I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS MARRIOTT AGAIN.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Friendly clean very nice thank you
- 5/5
The service is amazing and also the rooms
- 5/5
Parking way too expensive
- 5/5
Great room for cost, excellent amenities, nice area to take a walk in. Fast food nearby, hotel has a great restaurant and bar. Staff are friendly and helpful.
- 2/5
Bathroom fan didn’t work and air conditioner turned off after like 2 mins.
- 4/5
Nice place to stay.
- 5/5
I liked how safe the location was and how close it was to both the Bart station and Target.
- 3/5
Marriott
- 5/5
Super nice area
- 5/5
It’s nice and clean.
- 5/5
Very nice and clean
- 1/5
Room 435 needs to be cleaned thoroughly. Ants everywhere including our linen.
- 3/5
Excellent breakfast but out room was very dusty
- 5/5
All staff are so helpful and the rooms are nice and clean , i love this place for staycations
- 5/5
Rooms were updated and clean. Staff was very friendly.
- 4/5
The property had a lot of people hanging outside and inside the hotel lobby. It was hard to tell if there were guest of the hotel and i didn't feel comfortable with no security and traveling alone.. that particular area should have a nightmare security outside of the property.
- 4/5
I can’t say we have any major complaints about this hotel, but it was just OK. On the positive side, the beds were very comfortable. We were lucky enough to have a room with an outside window, but I would not have liked the inside windows that most of the rooms had. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because of the pool, but it was very cold and very noisy, being right next to a major road. The main thing I didn’t like was the decor of the room. The lighting was very harsh and bright white. The furniture was sleek and modern, but very hard hard and not cozy at all.
- 5/5
Great location, room was very spacious, clean with water, coffee, wifi, Netflix and within walking distance of BART train
- 5/5
Pleasant stay from check-in to check out! 10/10 would recommend
- 4/5
It was a very nice stay. Will go back.
- 4/5
#####
- 5/5
Great hotel walking distance to restaurants!
- 3/5
Bed is ok swimming pool below average
- 2/5
The front desk manager, James, was very nice and accomodating.
- 5/5
I had a lovely week at the Marriott hotel downtown Walnut Creek. The accommodations were comfortable and spacious, providing a peaceful retreat from the hustle of the city. The pool area was clean and serene, offering a nice escape with its tranquil atmosphere, despite some minor traffic noise in the background. Overall, the hotel's classy ambiance made for a delightful stay, perfectly blending relaxation with the vibrancy of downtown.
- 5/5
Amazing room me and my girlfriend had an amazing stay and we’re planning another one soon
- 5/5
Great stay overall
- 4/5
So far so good
- 3/5
The only parking was paid valet and the breakfast was paid only. It was clean but lacked personality, but my big issue was the lack of free parking and only a sit-down (we were traveling with our dogs) breakfast. There was no good place to take our dogs to relieve themselves. The bed was very comfortable.
- 5/5
It was in a great location for our vacation. It was central to Napa Valley, Muir Woods, and San Francisco. All the places we had planned to visit. The amenities were great especially after a day out exploring. We really enjoyed the club lounge.
- 4/5
Slightly noisy. Wedding party was loud and disturbing. Babies crying in the hall. It was clean and stuff was a pleasure to deal with. Overall good.
- 1/5
The hotel does not offer a self-parking option, only option is $32/night valet. And yet, there is no bell service. So we must pay to valet our car and then roll up and down our own bags. Ridiculous setup. Room was spacious and bed comfortable but it didn’t look very well maintained. It seemed old and edges needed a good scrubbing. I do not recommend. But that being said, sadly it may be the best option in the suburban location.
- 5/5
The stay was great and comfortable but could use better lighting.
- 5/5
Nice toom good pool although it a little noisey. Breakfast is good. Overall easy place.to.stay.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
I was here to see and visit family and friends. The room was very clean and pretty quiet. Gym was a good size and served the purpose. I wish there were some sort of area rugs at the sides or foot of the bed for a soft land when getting out. The floor planks need adjusting. But overall a good experience
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay
- 3/5
However, the customer service was able to kindly put my 2 rooms together as I manage 2 special needs family members. Huge thanks for that.
- 5/5
This was one of the nicest hotel stays I've had in years! The only bad thing was the $34 valet daily/nightly charge. 🤑 However! - David, Nikko and every single guy in valet (there was like 10!! Alllllll deserve a raise seriously) made me feel so welcome when I got back from all day exploring - that I actually looked forward to that kindness at the end of my day and starting my day with valet. The front desk was also super helpful and professional even while being a little short staffed there. The entire hotel is very clean, the 6th floor I stayed on was very modern and and quiet when needed. The guest services also was highly professional and super fast with any room service. AND the food!! - was sooo delicious I could not believe I was eating in a hotel. The pizza crust was sooo good I'm still thinking about it. All in all - this place left me feeling really positive about my trip to Cali. Its also super easy to get on/off the highway and close to everything in the Bay Area while not directly in the Bay Area.
- 5/5
I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for the pleasant stay.
- 4/5
Zero areas for pet relief although marked as dog friendly
- 4/5
Location from music venue, pool was too small, went to pool 30 mins after check in and there no place to sit too many kids in pool
- 5/5
Staff are polite and it was a very convenient location.
- 5/5
Hotel was clean, and staff was pleasant at time of check in. King size bed room was comfortable for my family. The only bummer was that they charged for breakfast $18.99 nothing special about it. Also I was forced to valet $34 per day which is just unnecessary money grab.
- 5/5
location
- 5/5
Spacious lobby. Friendly staff. Water bottle filling station. Concierge room and services were excellent. Pool was small, but a nice place to cool off. Large fitness center with a variety of cardio equipment, weight machines, and a separate room with free weights and benches.
- 4/5
Property a bit dated but service excellent. My room facing freeway so some noise. Otherwise, downtown location was great.
- 5/5
When family and friends com into town i always recommend to stay here.
- 5/5
The room is clean and bed is very comfortable.
- 1/5
House keeper knocks on door at 8:25 in the morning when husband and son are sleeping. Valet quickly brought down our car when I called down and it was waiting for us in the evening. However, called to give a 10 minute head start before we came down to check out, and they didn't have our car ready. We had to request our car again at the window. Had to wait for 2 other cars to be brought down before ours (for people who requested at the window but hadn't called down in advance. Sign in the elevators say breakfast (from a menu) is available M-F until 10:00 am. The line directly below says a buffet is served until 11:00. We went to the restaurant and they say they don't have the buffet except on weekends. The sign doesn't specify that it's only weekends. When I checked out, they tried to charge me $30 for parking even though I had already paid for it when I booked the room.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Front desk and valet staff are awesome.
- 5/5
I stayed overnight while handling family business in a nearby town parking was $34.00 extra but worth it with full service valets that provided great in & out service until check out. Always helps to have cash at the ready for tips
- 2/5
We were gone early and came back late. There was not way for us to know our room was not made up until we got in late. No, the privacy tag was not on the door.
- 5/5
All staff extremely helpful and kind
- 5/5
Friendly front desk, clean room, spacious hotel, comfortable bed and pillows, reasonable price.
- 4/5
A bit dated hotel near the freeway
- 4/5
The front desk was friendly and accommodating!
- 3/5
They did not result with towels or coffee. parking is valet only and $30/day
- 5/5
Nice place.
- 5/5
It's the best choice in Walnut Creek. It is a well operated Marriott. Staff is great. Rooms are comfortable. Pool area is lacking because it is next to the highway and all concrete.
- 3/5
Not a fan of valet parking only & no breakfast served. I been to this hotel 3 times. It wasn’t this way the past 2 times.
- 2/5
The condition of the hotel was not as nice as depicted in photos. Also (although not the hotels fault) we had a very drunk disgruntled guest on our floor causing a huge commotion at 1am. EMTs had to get involved and take the guest out of the facility. It was terrifying hearing him scream. Will not be staying here again.
- 4/5
Staff were very accommodating and understanding. We stood there as we had a love one in the hospital. Room was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Great access to local shops
- 4/5
My only complaint was the shower...huge shower head way up high and no way to adjust the flow! Wasting tons of water, and a short person wouldn't even be able to reach it to move head up or down a little. Plus, the tub got slippery so had to put a towel down so I wouldn't slip and fall, since there was nothing to grab onto.
- 5/5
My only complaint is the parking. Paying for parking is one thing, but it being valet only is a bit much. I personally do not like anyone driving my car. The valet part should be optional.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Clean and friendly staff!
- 5/5
Good
- 4/5
No self parking
- 2/5
Not cheerful, elegant, or anything else in nature of surroundings & feelings a good hotel would have. Felt mostly empty, uncaring. Rooms dark & not well lit. Staff inattentive--cold water tap in bathroom sink didn't work; housekeeper should have caught this & had it fixed. Reported issue to front desk, was told engineer would attend to it immediately. Didn't. No appearance that day & next day, when I returned, still no no cold water in sink. Called front desk. Put on hold. After close to 3 min, I hung up and pushed button on phone for personal service. Let it ring about 2 dozen times before I giving up. Eventually reached someone & had to change rooms, which meant repacking, hauling baggage again,, etc. Iron jn new room didn't steam. Re location: NOTHING to do nearby unless you have business in the vicinity or want to buy a very expensive car, like Maserati or Lamborghini. Stayed there only b/c near office of fellow I was working with. No stores, bars, places of interest. Complete dullsville. Hotel restaurant menu skimpy, not particularly interesting. Not noticeably populated at any time, either; few diners. Only other eats nearby are Jack in the Box or Taco Bell. 1/2 mile or more from a real cafe or restaurant, and it's isolated. Won't go back.
- 5/5
Excellent service as always!
- 5/5
I loved it
- 5/5
We used one of the two free level 2 car chargers and because it's valet parking they can charge more than one car on one of those chargers in a night because they could move one car out and another car in
- 5/5
Great stay!!
- 5/5
Great experience.
- 5/5
Great experience with this hotel. Booked again within one week.
- 4/5
We had a great stay. The staff was wonderful and the hotel was very clean and modernized. There was only one thing that was unfortunately very disappointing and that was that the beds were incredibly uncomfortable and left us with backaches every day of our trip. We lost sleep and were in need of constant advil after we woke up. We are in our early 30s and are healthy and adaptable to most places but this unfortunately put such a negative spin on an otherwise was a great stay that we could not book here again unless something changes with their beds. Otherwise a great hotel.
- 5/5
It is convenient the BART station as well as close to a relative we are visiting. We were on the concierge floor, which included breakfast and snacks.
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay. The bed was very comfortable.
- 3/5
While the Jr. Suite had two showers, that was a welcome surprise, neither shower had decent water pressure or ability to adjust the showerhead, so we had to hold up our child to get in the water. Doesn't work for anyone under 6ft. tall. All in all it wasn't a bad stay, but we would go back to the Embassy Suites next time.
- 5/5
I also tipped everytime I got my keys. So why was I charged??? I should be entitled to a refund on my $60 fees.
- 4/5
It seems like the valet parking is misleading on the website at $16, not $30. Pillows are too fluffy in my opinion.
- 2/5
Shower water temp was impossible to regulate. Temperature control system was awful!!!!!! Woke up sweaty at 3:45am and it was 85+ in the room. Couldn’t go back to sleep. Thermostat or system was broken. Couldn’t get it to cool down.
- 1/5
The hotel charged me extra for a two-night stay. I was charged sixty dollars for parking for two nights, but they charged me $120, which is sixty dollars extra, and I don't know why?
- 5/5
Nice property, not a view type property, but in a nice area. Within a mile of downtown shopping and restaurants.
- 5/5
:)
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful, room was clean and spacious. Great location.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay here.
- 5/5
Great friendly staff. Very efficient valet team. Quiet room. Would like to have had carpet.
- 4/5
Hotel is directly next door to an apartment complex, so the view looked at somebody's front doors. Plus the garbage area was below our room and it was trash day so we heard the garbage truck very early on our visit.
- 3/5
This is probably a Hotels.com issue, but I put 3 occupants, and the only breakfast option I got was for 1 person. Also, note that there is no other option for parking other than valet.
- 4/5
Clean
- 5/5
It’s a very beautiful place and it’s clean.
- 5/5
The food menu is recently updated and it’s very expensive. The quality is bad for the price.
- 5/5
Quiet, clean, comfortable, valet parking and Convenient to restaurants.
- 5/5
Very clean
- 3/5
Nice hotel but the room they put us in (which we were told was an upgrade) was literally a brick wall away from the freeway. Traffic noise ALL NIGHT LONG. In addition a room next to us has a dog that was “yapping” past midnight. There were also several occasions that teenagers ere very loud and partying behind our room outside. VERY bad night sleep! I won’t stay there again or refer it unless they can guarantee a quiet room location.
- 4/5
I wish full room service would return. They deliver it like door dash. Plastic utensils for a steak wasn’t that practical. I love when it use to come in on a table with white napkins and flatware. I hate the mini coffee pots and having to go downstairs to get coffee. Should bring back real Room service with a carafe of coffee. The valet helped me with my heavy bags and I seriously don’t mind tipping for that service. I would like to see room service back like before. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Great stay. Incredibly quiet and clean. Fast check in!
- 4/5
Clean, convenient.
- 5/5
Always stay here when I come back to Bay Area to visit friends. Consistent and comfortable. Bed is great, it’s clean, good breakfast, great location, no complaints.
- 5/5
beautiful hotel
- 4/5
I did not like the body lotion or body wash. It had an awful smell.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel.
- 5/5
Always a great stay
- 5/5
Staff was great and the room was clean and spacious
- 3/5
The front desk staff were very good and helpful when necessary.
- 4/5
Everything was great!
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
The Front Desk team is awesome.
- 5/5
Modern rooms and a comfortable bed. Bathrooms a little outdated. Overall great accommodations for price. Convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
Great staff, simple but nice accommodations.
- 5/5
The only downside is the charge for parking every day and some of the other guests were rude/
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
The only thing I did not like was the forced valet parking.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Nice hotel
- 5/5
The front desk staff was wonderful. I was visiting for a family emergency. I ended up losing my Dad while I was staying. The front desk staff went out of their way to comfort me, gave me a box of Kleenex, hugs, and were so kind. So appreciated it. I look forward to my next stay.
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
Perfect!
- 5/5
Our stay was wonderful! Rosie specifically was very accomodating and kind. Her customer service alone, will make us come back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
- 1/5
Front desk was unprofessional
- 1/5
Property was fine it’s the staff at front desk that was incredibly unprofessional
- 4/5
The only reason I give 4 star is I travel with my dogs which is why I chose Marriott it is Pet Friendly. However, there was no designated area to potty your pet. I had to walk the streets in an unfamiliar area to myself. And our room did not have a working refrigerator and our TV was unplugged and I assume because we had dogs were were put at the furthest point in the hotel next to 680 freeway where it was really loud. Also having parking available other than valet would also be nice.
- 5/5
Liked it Very much for above reasons. The parking is moderately expensive for that area. It is very efficient with its valet service.
- 5/5
Staff was very nice.
- 3/5
People working the desk at check in weren't very helpful. The temperature in the hotel was extremely cold and uncomfortable. The room balcony facing the lobby, bar and restaurant made for an very noisy night. Probably wouldn't stay there again for the price when there are other options
- 5/5
Clean rooms easy check in easy valet parking
- 5/5
Great place. Great bar
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
I loved it. The staff was very friendly helpful and kind
- 4/5
No parking on site and not hot tub
- 5/5
Nice area pleasant staff. Old furniture
- 4/5
A great hotel with good location
- 5/5
Great property! Service is great! Would suggest a make-up mirror (magnified) in the bathroom.
- 4/5
Quiet
- 5/5
Staff extremely nice. Dinner delicious. Room excellent.
- 3/5
Unfortunately the bar had all their draught beer out of use for the whole week we were there. The bottled beer we were served we discovered was mostly out of date and ran out on a regular basis. Bar staff were as frustrated as the customers. Ladies of the night seemed to be regular visitors and tolerated by staff. Will not be using Marriott hotels again.
- 4/5
Close to downtown and the concert
- 5/5
I would like a hot tub also
- 3/5
Place is nice but for the price you would expect the TV in the room to actually work.
- 4/5
The Buffett breakfast is very nice, and it is offered only on weekends.
- 5/5
Everything was great but this time we stayed the beds were horribly hard...not the usual.
- 5/5
close to freeway and ease of access.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
James is the Manger on duty when checking in and he had it all under control. He was the best for a short mini vaca.
- 4/5
Overall it was a ok stay the room we reserved was not available so the manager did make it right and gave us a discount on are room and valet parking to make things good. The rooms towels were not clean or they were stained and there was hair in the shower.
- 5/5
Great staff focused around guest experience.
- 1/5
It was okay and the price is overpriced for a stay in an outdated hotel. I also don’t like that there is no choice for self parking and felt hesitant to use the valet services. The valet team pulled up with the wrong car and I had to say something when they handed me the keys.
- 5/5
Comfortable, clean, safe, and had everything I needed. Great stay!
- 5/5
Very nice, modern room design.
- 2/5
No AC vent in the bedroom. No proper air circulation. Obselete system that doesn’t work. Not recommending this place.
- 4/5
On the plus side, the rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. I mentioned in my last review (a couple months ago) that the pool chairs were ripped and was glad to see, this time, that they'd been replaced with new chairs. Valet parking is $30/night. They no longer offer a shuttle to downtown. Employees are all very efficient and friendly.
- 3/5
Tye at the front desk … AWESOME. SO HELPFUL. property is dated a bit. Hard to keep the room cool at night. Construction above our room started each morning. Annoying. Had concierge access but very little in there for snacks in the evening which was a bummer. House keeping was on point and friendly. Overall. Decent. Wouldn’t brag about this place. Will probably try another property next trip
- 5/5
All of my interactions with the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was really convienent to 680 and downtown Walnut Creek shopping and restuarants. The facility itself is older but overall I had no issues and would stay here again.
