Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews, with guests appreciating the cleanliness, comfortable beds, and friendly staff, but expressing dissatisfaction with hidden fees, maintenance issues, and poor customer service. The decor and location are highly praised, but the quality of food and drink services varies.

- Hidden fees and unexpected charges
- Maintenance issues and poor customer service

Excellent accommodations, modern and characterful. All staff were great to interact with and rooftop lounge was an extremely good way of relaxing after days in DC. Would highly recommend, my new go-to hotel in the area.
- 2/5
This stay was very disappointing. Aesthetically it was very disappointing. Everything looked worn and dingy.
- 4/5
Very good

My stay was very satisfactory!!
- 5/5
Corner Rooms have great view
- 4/5
She is actually the reason why this was my second time coming back to this location. Her customer service efficiency and hospitality was amazing. 10 out of 10!!!! they messed up our rooms as well as charges that frustrated the whole process of checking in and checking out. This may have been my last time going there.
- 4/5
Had no idea there was a rooftop bar, or pool until our last day when we overheard other guests talking about it. Maybe have your staff mention it at check in.
- 4/5
Property was nice. Deck pool was enjoyable. Hotels is a bit small but clean and neat.
- 5/5
Great hotel with amazing staff
- 5/5
I LOVE this hotel!!! The staff is amazing- so friendly and genuinely nice! The rooftop pool area is beautiful! The art is perfect for a feminist like myself! Trumpers don't stay here/ you'll get your feelings hurt lol The views from both my room and the roof are awesome! The tub in my room was my favorite part though! Defiant new go to hotel when I come to DC!
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, nice pool area and close to CVS and other convenience stores.
- 5/5
This is a beautiful hotel. The staff are accommodating. The rooms are exceptional, aesthetically pleasing, very clean and well maintained.. The location puts you close to everything. The food is good. The drinks are good. This I the only hotel I stay at when I come to DC
- 5/5
The hotel and rooms are beautiful. Loved the view. Loved the soak tub. Loved the location. Complimentary breakfast with my room rate did not cover the cost of the entire breakfast.
- 4.5/5
I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable with unique showers that I haven’t seen before! My room was very quiet and the hotel dining is pleasant.
- 4/5
Location, size of the room All was pretty decent
- 5/5
Great stay, friendly helpful staff. Good food and beautiful art.

最寄りのMetroの駅からも徒歩5分ほどで交通の便も良かった。 各階にウォーターサーバーがあり水には不自由しなかった。

It’s convenient location
- 5/5
Absolutely loved this hotel! The entire atmosphere was fantastic. The uniqueness of women empowerment stood out. The bathroom sold me on my selection. Did not disappoint!
- 3/5
Breakfast: I dont like the fact that tip is included while the service are terrible, food came out really good but had to ask waters and utensils. So thats that. Cleaning: Asked for extra toiletries like Face tissue, that never happened. Last day of cleaning, I put the tag in the morning and nobody came in then left again 1:30pm and and back in my hotel at 1am from the festival it and of course my room is still dirty so had to call the receptionist just to ask for new towels. Pool was clean,. foods were good.
- 5/5
Beautiful spacious clean room, Staff was friendly and restaurants/shops not too far from the hotel. Enjoyable week end!
- 4/5
Very good
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable! Very cool vibe!
- 1/5
I didn’t get to stay at the property because of how nasty the rooms were. The sheets had stains on the, nothing was well maintained. I couldn’t imagine staying there overnight, so I checked out of the hotel immediately
- 4/5
Staff is delightful! They go above and beyond— I observed several interactions and personally experienced it, too. Unlike in many hotels, the people here seem to enjoy working together and it shows in the guest services. The first room we were assigned had broken electricity and the bathroom was worn down and had no ventilation. Plus the air conditioner could not be adjusted. When we changed rooms it was much better, though the walls are thin and you can hear other guests in the hallway and adjacent rooms. Guests should be aware that you need to go to reception before accessing the pool.
- 3/5
I enjoyed the hotel and its amenities. The location is great and the theme around women's empowerment was inspiring. However, I wasn't comfortable at all with the bed and my sleep. The pillows are truly awful and unpleasant to lay your head on. The bed is very hard. For my three nights at the hotel, I had a combined 7 hours of light sleep and that's being generous. This is not a hotel I would recommend for rest.

Amazing location and views.

Conveniently located. Great decor
- 5/5
I love staying at this hotel. Great location, progressive vibe.

Some of the cups in our room were dirty and the valet service was inconsistent. Price for overnight parking seemed high.

A very funky hotel. It is more than obvious that the owners are extremely liberal. There is liberal art throughout the whole hotel. Ruth Bader Ginsburg portraits even in the room, on the pillow. Women's rights statements throughout the hotel. I always had to walk down to get the bus. The next Metro station is like a 10 Minute walk away

Should have ice available on any floor.
- 5/5
Loved the experience. The room was clean, pretty and decorated masterfully. The front desk staff was very kind and helpful- he also recommended a few DC spots to check out. The Ruth Bader Ginsburg art is the star of the hotel.
- 5/5
Sardia at check in was amazing! Gave me the energy to start the weekend. Will definitely come back to stay again!
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 3/5
Unfortunately, the rooms felt dated despite past renovations, and the bathrooms could use a refresh. The biggest drawback was the bed and pillows, which were extremely uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep during my five-night stay. Overall, great service and location, but the room comfort needs improvement.
- 2/5
However, I had a very disappointing experience when calling the front desk to ask about a charge breakdown on my bill. I was repeatedly placed on hold, and the female staff member sounded impatient throughout the conversation. English is not my first language, but before I could even finish explaining my question, I was interrupted multiple times and told “I don’t understand what you’re saying.” The tone and attitude made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. As a hotel that strongly emphasizes feminism and women empowerment in its branding, I was especially struck by how dismissive and unfriendly the female front desk staff member was during this interaction. It left a particularly negative impression on me. As an international guest, this interaction honestly felt like a form of subtle discrimination or at least a lack of respect and patience toward non-native English speakers. I was simply trying to understand the charges on my account. Better communication and professionalism from the front desk staff would have made a huge difference. Other than the customer service experience on the phone, the hotel itself was fine.
- 5/5
Everything was great, hopefully better water next stay so I can enjoy the rooftop
- 4/5
Parking is EXPENSIVE!!
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
Clean room. Very central
- 5/5
Hotel Zena is fantastic. The staff were beyond helpful and were always super friendly. They refreshed the room daily with water, coffee, and fresh towels. The beds were very comfortable and the room was super clean. Loved the rooftop pool. We will definitely be back!
- 4/5
The location is amazing and I highly recommend the rooftop. I had a king room and it looked a lot smaller than I expected but it was very clean and comfortable . The shower is the only thing i didn’t like . It looks like they just hung a bed sheet type curtain , did not match the rest of the hotel aesthetic at all .
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, great location.
- 5/5
Enjoyed everything about my stay. And the location was in walking distance of everything we wanted to do. Will definitely be back… soon!
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
Trying to sneak on a daily amenity fee is offensive, just quote the price of the room.
- 5/5
Staying at Zena was amazing. The comfort, the service, the atmosphere and the value was incredible. I would definitely recommend staying at Zena. The distance to all sightseeing destinations is minimal
- 4/5
It was located in a great spot, we were able to get to everything really fast, either by foot, bike or car! You can go in and out as many times you like when you valet! It has many great art pieces depicting strong women and women rights! They should tell you when booking that the rooftop is not open, it only opens at a certain time a year.

A beautiful hotel. I felt like royalty from the moment I arrived. Upbeat space, very woman empowered vibe. Bar was fun and always ppl there. Clean, comfy bed and pillows. Love the shower, so unique. Def worth it, I will be back
- 4/5
Very good
- 1/5
They have continuously charged my credit card after my stay - even a month after leaving I’m still getting random charges through. I’ve been unable to speak to anyone about these and no one has been able to clarify what these charges are for.
- 3/5
This place is just ok. I would definitely not stay here again. Much better options in the area. A Frustrating check in experience just started things off poorly and it never really recovered. Food is quite overpriced and “amenities” are scarce. Circle Suite is also just a pretty average room at an above average price.
- 5/5
During the summer months, the outdoor rooftop pool and Hedy's bar & lounge area are open for guests (call ahead to find exact dates and times) and is also available to the public. I highly recommend calling in advance for reservations fot non-registered guests. Direct views are facing north (Thomas Circle and beyond) and mostly west and east. My 10th-floor room was around the corner at the end of the hall and had a large south-facing window with plenty of morning/afternoon sun that shone on the chair . The views were split between the city (above nearby buildings) looking SE, though looking SW, I could partially see inside windows of least a dozen hotel rooms located around the corner. The comfy queen size bed with soft sheets had plenty of pillows, soft pink lighting behind the bedframe (which had 2 bendable reading lamps attached on either side in addition the two table lamps on the nightstands). The large flat screen TV with a swivel mount
- 4/5
Very good
- 4/5
Bathrooms in room were a bit of a problem. Lock to bathroom door was broken. If light was turned on in bathroom it shone into entire hotel room. No working fan in bathroom. Pillows were terrible on the beds.
- 5/5
Such an amazing place, from the staff to the clean room.
- 5/5
I loved my room and the room service was exceptional for breakfast and everything tasted great. I'm definitely coming back next year to try put that soaking tub! (Didn't have any bubble bath on me). Thank you Hotel Zena !
- 5/5
The hotel itself has a great vibe, beautiful views, and an overall polished, high-end feel. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a place that combines comfort with a luxury experience
- 5/5
Staff very friendly, lobby bar very nice, staff at bar and front desk great. Very clean, convenient. Very nice property
- 5/5
Great location and large comfortable rooms!
- 5/5
My girlfriend and I had an incredible experience at Hotel Zena. David at the front desk was excellent he made us feel very comfortable and was very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Clean room though a bit cozy. There was a random pillar structure in the middle of the room - turns out it was the shower. It's a very unique design and though the walls are opaque you can the silhouette of the person showering from the beds which can be always depending on your company. Excellent food and drink choices in the hotel restaurant and there are also lots of food options within walking distance. The pool wasn't open yet for the season but the view from the roof was beautiful anyway. All in all we would go back here again.
- 4/5
Room is great, breakfast is not well managed. There's a long waiting time, understaffed, and overcrowded.
- 5/5
So cute! Great stay
- 5/5
My first time staying here, great location great staff and a really cool hotel omg also it hold so much history I can wait to go back when the pool is open
- 4/5
We stayed for 3 nights in April in a ‘King-bed with a city view’ room. The room was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel was in a great location - about 15-20 mins walk to the White House and 8-10 minutes walk to a metro stop. This made getting around Washington DC easy. Unfortunately the rooftop bar and pool were not open as this is seasonal. Breakfast wasn’t included in our room rate so we only had breakfast at the hotel on one morning. It was delicious but expensive (compared to other DC restaurants we ate in). The only thing that we were disappointed by was the additional daily $35 "amenities fee” which we were told covered the cost of wifi access and in room tea, coffee and water which was replenished on request. This is something most hotels of this caliber provide as standard. Overall we had a great stay at Zena and would recommend the hotel - just be aware of the additional daily tax.
- 3/5
Important notes: rooftop deck with pool that they feature prominently in the ads is not open until late May regardless of weather. Lobby bar closes early - no in-room evening dining. Rooms are definitely average to below average - especially the accessible rooms - which you may be assigned even if not needed (we were!). Lighting in bathroom is terrible and feels like a Motel. Other than its location, I found this hotel below average.
- 5/5
Unique experience and the vibes were immaculate. Beautiful rooms with unexpected surprises and wonderful city view of Thomas Circle!
- 5/5
I’ve spent my weekend trip at hotel Zena and enjoyed my stay. The staffs are friendly and attentive to my needs. I love the complimentary coffee and water. It is also conveniently located a fee blocks from McPherson Square and Franklin park.
- 5/5
Great stay. The hotel rooms are nice and spacious. The views were beautiful. Will stay again!
- 5/5
Very big rooms and clean. Many stores nearby
- 5/5
Everything was great. Better than most hotels I've been in.
- 3/5
Bed was very comfortable. The staff who checked me in wasn't very friendly. Overall it was a fair stay and I probably won't stay again.
- 2/5
+35 c degrees and they kept the pool and rooftop area closed all week anyway
- 5/5
The decor in hotel is Beautiful, it’s very clean, it has great amenities, the bar and lobby area is a nice place to meet up with friends. The views from the hotel rooms are great and it’s easy to walk to restaurants and close to museums. I’ll stay here again.
- 5/5

- 5/5

- 5/5
Amazing location
- 5/5
We loved our stay here. Super friendly staff, wonderful decor and atmosphere. Clean comfortable room. Close to metro and restaurants.
- 5/5
Great staff and a super location
- 5/5
Breakfast menu was okay, some more variety would be good. Some nearby restaurants and a CVS pharmacy is right across the street.
- 3/5
Clean room, felt a little tight for a 2 bed room. 2 adults 2 littles. Cute decor. Breakfast was a sitdown menu in the morning. Not a quick stop & go.
- 5/5
Clean room, great staff, close to many restaurants.
- 5/5
The staff was really welcoming and accommodating. We had everything we needed and loved our accommodations.
- 4/5
The hotel looks older than on the photographs. Rooms are smaller and have signs of wear and tear. Breakfast is good and fresh but not a large selection and expensive. The location is great, close to everything in the center.
- 5/5
Room was clean, service was amazing
- 5/5
Great stay. Friendly staff, clean rooms.
- 5/5
This my second time staying at this hotel.I always have an exceptional experience when I stay here.10/10 always. The cleaning ladies are the sweetest!
- 5/5
Great hotel. Very clean and it’s in an amazing location. I would definitely stay here again. Their drink menu is also creative
- 5/5
This hotel was amazing. What a surprise when I walked in and observed all the amazing art work featuring woman empowerment! The staff was amazing ; friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant was one of the best I have experienced. Can’t wait to return in the summer and experience the rooftop!
- 5/5
Clean beautiful room

2. The shower is small and there is standing water when you enter the shower . No telling how long it’s been there . 3. 1 light on the ceiling was pushed in and facing the other direction . 4. The staff with long hair leaves strands of hair every where after they clean . On the floor and in the towels . 5. For $700 on a 3 day stay i expect a complimentary breakfast 6. There is a WaWa across the street and the police were called every night for fighting and loitering. 7. They have private events like speed dating and fashion shows causing all guests to not be able to use the amenities or even sit in the lobby. The areas are blocked off .
- 5/5
Outstanding
- 4/5
Overall, we had a very good stay. The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. I do not think the hotel lives up to a 4-star rating, however. The carpet in the hallways was very worn in some places and the furniture in our room was cracked and scuffed. Also, the design of the shower made it so that if you turned on the bathroom light the whole room lit up - not ideal if someone else is trying to sleep. We also found the location a little bit inconvenient for the events we were attending downtown.
- 1/5
The first room had a flag banging against the window. The 2nd room when they moved us had no air or heat and a maintenance man was working in our room until after midnight. The staff was great though
- 5/5
Outstanding stay! Room was clean, quiet, and comfy and view of city. Love the art in the hotel lobby, and the staff at check in/front desk, housekeeping were all kind, friendly, and always helpful. Hotel is close to the McPherson Metro stop, and super easy to figure out and there was a stop near everything we wanted to do & see. Hotel is located in a great central DC area and within 10-20 min we could get to all the major sightseeing areas, places to eat, etc. There was also a 24hr Wawa across the street, DD around the corner, CVS across the street, lots of restaurants within walking distance - check out Barcelona tapa restaurant nearby - so good! Great stay and would choose this hotel over other hotels in the area hands down. Thank you for the lovely stay :)

I paid for all the bells and whistles and was unaware rhat the 2 restaurants and bar in the hotel were closed as it was off season
- 5/5
Great Customer service and the hotel was amazing. This was in a great location. I will recommend this hotel
- 1/5
The hotel did not match the photos or description provided on your website at all. I was assigned the worst room, which was extremely small and had very poor amenities. Additionally, the final price charged was more than double the rate displayed on your site at the time of booking. This experience was highly disappointing and not in line with the standards presented on Expedia.
- 5/5
It's one of if not the greatest hotels in DC. The staff is always friendly and are willing to accommodate you.
- 5/5
Ezekiel was amazing and helped me get exactly the room I wanted. I really appreciated the personal service and commitment to making sure I had a great experience. The room was lovely and had a great view of the circle.

Great staff, nice large room and amenities. Love the woman-centric vibe, whimsical details and location!

Loved the hotel concept and inclusive philosophy.

It was ok

great clean hotel
- 5/5
Ezekiel was so kind and efficient!. Honestly, everyone was wonderful and the room was amazingly spotless.
- 3/5
The hotel had a cool vibe and great location. The room could have been a little cleaner, but it was mostly just showing age. Also avoid the smoothies from the lobby breakfast area, they were powder chemical soup instead of fresh juice.
- 5/5
Excellent stay. Quiet, convenient, great staff. Perfect for a business trip.
- 5/5
The room was so comfortable and beautiful! I love rooms/hotels that are nontraditional. The shower was in a shape of a shell with I loved and the art was so cool. Will def stay here again.

Wife and I picked Zena based on price, rating and pictures. We were not disappointed. Hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of the Mall and the museums. Hotel and rooms were very clean, update and contemporary. Service was amazing - the manager left a bottle of Prosecco in our room to celebrate our anniversary. We had an amazing experience.

The property sits in a great neighborhood with walk ability to food and sights. We got a room facing the circle which was great to wake up to each morning. The front desk and onsite restaurant staff were helpful and pleasant.

Loved my stay at Hotel Zena! The rooms were simple but clean and efficient. The bed was comfy and the huge TV was nice! Our favorite part was the location. For kids is WaWa cross the street which is BIG help). Kids don’t get it what fancy food is)) Staff super friendly and very accommodating. Manager is fantastic
- 5/5
Bravo!
- 3/5
I don’t understand how this is considered a 4 star hotel. Late night open parties on the weekend on the roof for anyone who wants to attend creating a chaotic and unsafe environment, hotel smelled, rooms are as average as possible, staff was barely polite let alone friendly. It’s not very convenient actually if you’re planning to go to the museums area. I won’t be back.
- 5/5
For now, excellent
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable and welcoming with fun decor!
- 4/5
Great pro-female theme and friendly front office overall.
- 5/5
Awesome hotel!!
- 5/5
Location is perfect
- 4/5
Location was great for sight seeing. Room although small was nice. A/C was not great (couldn't get the room very cold). Pool location was cool but very small and closes early. Fees and parking were outrageous. Parking garage across the street $12 a night vs the $59 Zena charges.
- 5/5
I have nothing bad to say We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
The hotel is right in the middle of everything, and a lot of places are walking distance
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
I absolutely adore Hotel Zena!! This was my second time staying there and it did not disappoint!! The hotel staff is very accommodating and professional. I definitely plan to stay again when I do a staycation in DC.

The staff was amazing and accommodating. The vibe during the Memorial Day weekend was LIT!!!!!!!! I intend on returning next year.

What a wonderful place! It’s a very positive, affirming place. I felt right at home and I loved how central it was. Thank you!
- 5/5
The staff were very friendly, and helpful
- 5/5
Great property and staff
- 5/5
From the theme, to the staff it was absolutely lovely. The staff was very friendly and helpful, there was plenty to do in hotel, such as games, rooftop pool, etc. it was walkable to certain museums and shopping. I highly recommend.
- 5/5
This beautiful, newer hotel is women centered and committed to service. Everyone we met were wonderful, friendly, helpful and made our stay all the more enjoyable.
- 5/5
The room was very spacious and worth every minute. The soft water in the shower, the heat and cooling system and room service all AWESOME. The pool was great so was the first floor lobby FULL of art. The staff 10/100!!
- 3/5
I’ve always had a great experience booking at Zena for my D.C. stays. However, this time around, I was a bit disappointed with the conditions of my initial room. Then there were issues with the toilet handle in the room we moved to, and the staff seemed a bit unpleasant. I’m a bit disappointed, but I hope things are better when I visit next.

Roof top was an amazing way to wind down after very hot days walking around DC. Thank you for a great stay!
- 5/5
Amazing experience!! Staff provided excellent service! Room was clean and had everything we needed. Location was close to everything. Would definitely stay here again!

The room was comfortable and clean. The dining options were delicious. Everything was amazing.
- 3/5
The suite had a strong odor. We called down to management. They found a Tanqueray mini bottle connected to a pvc pipe. Once removed a large amount of stinky moldy gunk came out. Hoping we don't get sick w/ Legionaires.
- 5/5
Ronald at the front desk is amazing!!!!!!
- 5/5
Bed and room were super modern.
- 5/5
Was super happy with the ambiance. Extended pool hours would be nice. Lovely view.
- 3/5
Shower was of poor design, pooled water after a shower. Loved the art downstairs. Food is expensive.
- 5/5
We were vendors over at the Walter E Washington, far enough away from the event that we had some quiet time to rest. Eclectic and fun decor, very comfortable beds and showers
- 5/5
My first time staying here and was very impressed. The location is perfect. The staff was amazing, especially David at the Fri t desk. The rooftop pool and bar is a very nice touch. I’d highly recommend staying here.
- 5/5
This hotel was so cool. The staff was helpful, from front desk to the bar. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
- 5/5
The hotel was beautiful. Location was key. My room was amazing and clean. The staff was wonderful
- 2/5
Disappointing for the price. The building itself is nice, but the amenities and service don’t match the cost. You have to call down for ice and wait for someone to bring it, and I didn’t find out until my last night that you also have to request a microwave. The pool closes at 8 p.m., which is far too early. Parking is $70 a night plus a resort fee on top of nearly $200 per night for the room. My total came to $783.32 for the stay. For that price, I expected more convenience, better access to amenities, and fewer extra charges.
- 4/5
The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were a bit small but it was just me. The bathroom had hair on the floor as if it hadn't been cleaned
- 5/5
great room, spacious and clean, great location
- 5/5
Front desk was WONDERFUL. Was able to check in early because our room was ready. Valet parking was a breeze with in and out privileges too(they can pull up your car and re-park it) Not far from the convention center and in a good place with CVS and Wawa nearby. Comfy beds and pillows. 10/10 would definitely stay here again
- 5/5
The property was amazing along with the staff. Everybody was very welcoming, and felt good to be at this establishment. Thank you
- 4/5
I liked the artworks all around inside the hotel.
- 4/5
Clean rooms and nice hotel and great location for all the wonderful sites to see
- 4/5
Everything was great. Only unfortunate thing was that the sheets were a bit stained and dirty. Other than that, i highly recommend this hotel! Great time!
- 4/5
Very Nice!
- 5/5
The staff went above and beyond. I would highly recommend because this can easily become your favorite DC hotel.
- 2/5
They are charging a $65 "resort fee" every day you stay. A resort fee. On 14th street nw. There is no resort. I never left my hotel room. But here i was coming back after a 13 hr day just for them to keep my hotel room belongings while i spent the next 3hrs crying in the lobby while your managers mostly just went out of their way to be smug and keep me from my room and the items within. For 3 hours. I'm going to post this everywhere.
- 5/5
Nice and clean rooms, Good service, nice rooftop
- 5/5
Loved the room
- 2/5
They will never send you a receipt. Do not stay if you need to expense the stay for work.
- 4/5
Overall a beautiful hotel.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Hotel Zena is no doubt a beautiful hotel. Created with every woman in mind. From the lobby to the rooftop. They didn’t miss a beat! Staff were AMAZING :) I will definitely come again!
- 5/5
Nice property and nice staff
- 5/5
Amazing experience!
- 4/5
Good location
- 5/5
Great room. Great location
- 5/5
The room looks really good
- 4/5
Unique hotel. Close to the metro and bus transportation. Staff is very friendly and go out of their way to help you.
- 3/5
The hotel has an excellent location and the room was very clean. However, the common areas were quite cramped and the service was subpar. The check-in process took about 30 minutes. Breakfast was mediocre and not worth the price—definitely not recommended. Most surprisingly, the wait for breakfast was around 30 minutes, and even after finishing the meal, the coffee still hadn’t arrived. At checkout, I had to remind the staff to remove the undelivered coffee and bread from the bill. Overall, I strongly do not recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Relaxing, clean, beautiful views.
- 5/5
Fun place very nice staff
- 5/5
The vibe is incredible, not your average hotel experience.
- 5/5
Most unique shower…a fun surprise.
- 4/5
The rooftop made this hotel! The views, food, drinks, service- were really much nicer than the pictures suggest.
- 3/5
They tried to charge me for extra
- 5/5
Great Hotel the staff was very nice. We enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.
- 5/5
Awesome place
- 3/5
We were not impressed by the hotel bar/ restaurant service, QR code menus and paper cups for breakfast coffee was not a four star standard. Hidden costs for breakfast on checkout!! When hotels.com said it was included! Not impressed! Overall it was an average stay for one night however I would not choose to stay for longer with a young family.
- 4/5
It was a good stay , the pool was just too small for that many people .
- 5/5
Love love, love love love five thumbs up must stay will be returning soon
- 5/5
I love to stay beautiful place everything about it the room the atmosphere the area just love love love love 10 thumbs up will return soon
- 5/5
The decor at the property is stunning. The staff were welcoming and pleasant.
- 5/5
Love the RGB artwork!
- 5/5
Good
- 1/5
I got billed twice for parking and it still isn’t resolved after calling and emailing at least 8 different times. The management doesn’t care. They just pass the buck. Be careful because if the billing is wrong you will never get it resolved. My stay was in May 2025 and it is July 2025 and things are still not resolved after 3 months.
- 3/5
I tend to stay here because it’s near my office. I can never get an invoice emailed to me after a stay and it drives me crazy and requires numerous follow up calls. Sadly have to find a new weekly place to stay.
- 5/5
Very nice and different hotel with beautiful art work! Staff was very friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
We have stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The service was great and the staff were attentive. We had a 9-year-old child with us. he liked to play in the lobby. The only thing I didn't like was that we couldn't use the pool on the rooftop. Please, keep in mind that on Fridays and Saturdays, the hotel is open to the public, and there are a lot of young people who come to chill at the bar near the pool. I mean a lot. You can join them if you don't have a child with you.But since we were traveling with our son, we could'nt go to the rooftop to enjoy the pool. Other then that we had a great time there.
- 4/5
Nice for single or romantic staycation!
- 5/5
One of theeee best hotels I’ve ever stayed at when visiting DC
- 5/5
Had an amazing time with my lady! Would come back again
- 4/5
Hotel Zena is a really good option for those visiting DC. The hotel is in a great location, central to anything you would want to get to in the city. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Had a few minor fits and starts, but overall I’d consider this property again. The suites are spacious which can make your stay much more comfortable. I will note if you are located under the pool deck be prepared for a louder evening as many events are held up there at night and a good time being had can be heard from the rooms. My thanks to the Zena team for a nice stay.
- 5/5
Friendly environment and very clean hotel. 5 min walk from the White House
- 5/5
Very convenient location! I will stay here again our next trip.
- 5/5
The Suite
- 4/5
Rooms were clean and updated, very comfortable. One negative, no real breakfast and what they did have took forever to get.
- 4/5
The female centric theme was appealing.
- 5/5
Great location and very nice lobby. Room was spacious. You can walk to all the main attractions really enjoyed this hotel.
- 4/5
It’s good but kind of old , the shower is slow and the bed was comfortable
- 5/5
The customer care and service was exceptional, from check-in to check-out! Well done Team Zena!
- 1/5
The hotel is sneaky on service charges. First of all there is no information on guest aminity fees while booking. No one mentioned about it while checking in. While checking out they charged us $40 per night for guest aminity fee. While asking they mentioned this is for free tea and coffee which we never used. On asking to waive it they said its mandar
- 5/5
The location was great. The staff was friendly and the hotel was very enjoyable.
- 4/5
Good stay!
- 5/5
I gifted my daughter and new som in law a one stay for their honeymoon and they loved it. Thanks so much for the added touches in the room to celebrate them on their special night.
- 4/5
Nice hotel
- 5/5
Very cool boutique vibe hotel. Busy street but hardly heard street noise.
- 3/5
I asked to extend d my stay and was told to come down and they wouid issue a new key - when I went down they had no record of that and I had to scramble and find a new hotel — I asked twice if she had it in computer answer was yes — called at 7am the day before departure ..
- 5/5
Everyone is so helpful and friendly! The property is beautiful and in a good location. I love the shower—it's so cool! And the drinks and food at the bar were excellent. I especially enjoyed meeting Ronald, Malik, Shanaya (I'm not sure if that was spelled correctly ), and Baltazar. I have been to this hotel a few times, and it is one of my favorites.
- 1/5
And caused us server coughing issues
- 5/5
The staff was such a pleasure to interact with. The Hotel's theme and decor was so appealing and fun. Would absolutely stay here again.
- 5/5
Perfect location for all the best restaurants & LGBT spots!! My wife and I loved it! The bed was super comfy, room was incredibly clean & beautiful and the shower & bathroom products were amazing for a hotel. Its the little things, and they check all the boxes. The ambiance of the female empowerment artwork was absolutely stunning throughout this hotel.....it will make you stop, and look closely!!! I highly recommend Hotel Zena!!!
- 5/5
Walkable to all DC attractions
- 5/5
Amazingly beautiful room with a great view. Plenty of amenities. We will definitely stay here again on a trip to D.C.
- 5/5
We had a lovely, comfortable room, and had a great time walking around this cute neighborhood. We especially enjoyed the rooftop bar and pool, which were opened early and were so lovely even though the pool was way to cold to swim in in April
- 5/5
This is a great property with well designed rooms and amenities. The decor is very feminist-friendly so it may not be a good fit for MAGA folks, but I really loved it.
- 4/5
Super cute and small hotel with a convenient location. My only complaint is that parking. We had a larger SUV and valet wasn’t able to accommodate our car. Ultimately, we had to park at a nearby hotel and walk back. Aside from that, great location, close to food and other locations. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
- 3/5
There was no concierge. They had no connection to a car service. The curtains were not blackout. Take your eye masks. Even though they say it’s a non smoking property, it smelled like smoke & pot. It was clean, but the smell was offensive. I would not stay there again. It was over priced.
- 5/5
Great people, nice space, loved the rooftop.
- 1/5
I been member Expedia gor years and expedia did not do anything to to cancel the stay. I may not be using Expedia again , since they are just concerned about he commission they are making , not their costumers!!!
- 3/5
The fit and finish of the common areas were average. Front desk wanted to charge an early room fee. This was at 1:30pm and the room was ready but their terms are to check in at 3pm. I didn’t want to pay the $25 early check in fee for two rooms. So I left the bags and went for lunch. They called me at 2:15 to say I could check in. Was some what inconvenient.
- 5/5
Love it! Everything was so close
- 5/5
It’s is an amazing property. The staff was very accommodating. Ezekiel the Manager was amazing. I am looking forward to staying there again.
- 5/5
What a lovely hotel - fabulous art, fun games, nice rooftop pool, courteous and helpful staff. My only complaint is that they used disposable cups for coffee and tea - it would have been so much nicer to enjoy my morning beverage in a real mug. Otherwise, everything was great!
- 5/5
Centrally located. Clean. Safe location. Very nice hotel. Modern. Would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
Watch out for those extra charges. Other than that a great place, nice stuff, clearn and quiet.
- 5/5
My friends and I had an amazing time.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 4/5
The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. The only disappointing thing I experienced was that I had a hotel credit on food and drinks upon my arrival that I was not informed about when I checked in during my 3 night stay. I did have a meal at the restaurant during my stay but did not charge it to my room. I was not alerted about the credit until I was checking out and did not have time to use the credit as I was headed to a meeting where breakfast was provided.
- 5/5
The sevice was very good. It was walkable to most monuments and famous buildings. The room was ver comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 1/5
Robald - absolutely the rudest host I ever seen, not accommodative, very short and rude to all guest, absolutely not helpful, and on top of all when you stay at that level hotel, y out would expect: good morning , thank you and good bye - nothing like that was ever said or mentioned - if I’m the manager and reading this my next step is to fire Ronald immediately !! Would never suggest or stay at this property
- 5/5
Very clean and cute hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean would definitely recommend.
- 4/5
Rooms were well decorated, clean, very pleasant, tho the front desk was small and casual. Dining & bar areas in the lobby are very well designed. The room staff is excellent. They were the most attentive.
- 2/5
“Oh there’s a $40 a day guest amenities fee” What? For cheap water and a gym. The in and out valet fee was nice. But fur an average of $280 a night. I can do better.
- 1/5
I recently stayed at Hotel Zena in Washington DC and had one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I would not recommend this place, especially for families. We booked this hotel based on the pictures and amenities listed online, but what we got was nothing like what was advertised. The rooms were much smaller than they appear in the photos, and ours wasn’t even properly cleaned. On top of that, the air conditioning didn’t work, which made it really uncomfortable, especially with kids. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was for the rooftop and pool, which they claimed were available—but upon arrival, we were told neither was open. That was incredibly frustrating, especially with children who were looking forward to it. The service was a disaster. The staff seemed lost and uninterested in helping. When we raised concerns, they either ignored them or gave vague excuses. The restaurant was the final straw: overpriced, very poor quality food, and some of the rudest staff I’ve encountered. Save your money and stay somewhere else. This place is all about the image, with zero follow-through on what they promise. A total letdown.
- 3/5
Loud music in the lobby, super slow check in time, confronted with an additional $35/night amenity fee but it was absolutely unclear what that fee was meant to cover for.
- 5/5
This was a very clean space with super friendly and efficient staff. The rooms are very small but well appointed.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
Excellent staff that was very attentive. Love noon check out. Room service was wonderful!
- 5/5
Great valet parking, great staff, friendly
- 4/5
The staff was courteous and professional. The room service was timely and the food was great. The room we stayed at was clean and comfortable except for the bed, my wife and I found it to be uncomfortable. The refrigerator needs to be updated because it didn’t get very cold.
- 3/5
Extremely busy and no ability to check in early or check out late.
- 3/5
O apartamento é pequeno para acomodar mais de 2 pessoas. Os preços praticados no hotel são altos, inclusive o do estacionamento, em que somos obrigado a pagar pelo espaço e pelo manobrista, o que aumenta muito o custo.
- 4/5
Great location, great room, staff was very nice. Had a problem with our AC and the hotel returned our resort fee without even asking, great service. Will be our go-to when visiting DC
- 2/5
I told the manager about the toilet and sent a pic of the strange towel delivery, expecting a response and perhaps a removal of my $35/day room "processing fee" but alas, no response.
- 5/5
I had a wonderful day at this property. A well appointed boutique hotel. All staff was extremely attentive to our needs, especially Ezekiel at the front desk. He went above and beyond my expectations. I would definitely recommend this hotel to those seeking a memorablestay in DC.
- 5/5
Unique place, amazing design and art all over, spacious rooms, great location, plenty of restaurants close by, staff is very nice and helpful. My room was pristine!
- 3/5
$70 nightly parking fee, $35 a day amenity fee even if you checked in late you are charged by the night.
- 4/5
The shower was great.
- 2/5
Staff was not as accomodating as expected being that it was a black women owned establishment. Within the first night there was a lot of maintenance issues that occurred. Door handle to bathroom became unhinged. Water from shower leaked into the bedroom. Instead of moving our room maintenance came and sealed the area leaking. When I spoke to the front desk staff about the issue they only waived one night of amenities fees (~ $40). Overall I was disappointed with my experience.
- 5/5
The property was very clean and all of the staff was kind and helpful!
- 5/5
The art in the hotel was unique.
- 5/5
Great location good service high-quality rooms
- 5/5
Really enjoyed this hotel... friendly staff, edgy artwork, location, etc. Would definitely book again.
- 5/5
The hotel itself was amazing. They do provide vallet parking. It can be costly for oversized vehicle vehicles.
- 5/5
The pool was closed and I did not get to use the gym even though it was well equiped. I hope to enjoy on my next trip. The place was walking distance to the White House and World Bank. Shopping is also walking distance and nice restaurants in the area too. Overall, I will visit again.
- 5/5
We had a very nice 3 day stay here. Love the woman power theme. Very clean and friendly service. It’s quite a few blocks from mall but we were able to walk everywhere .
- 5/5
My only complaint is that it’s in a noisy area, but would recommend!
- 5/5
Near everything, great customer service, and clean!
- 5/5
VERY NICE ROOMS AND STAFF
- 1/5
No one is here! How do I access my room?
- 5/5
great
- 5/5
Had an amazing stay. The Gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming and accommodating. My room with the city view was dope. Decent bathroom loved the shower.
- 4/5
Good hotel in the heart of DC. My room was clean and pleasant. Only complain is they did not allow me to check in a couple of hours early, even though the room was ready. They wanted to charge a $75 early check in, which I did not agree to pay. Never in all the countries I have traveled to, a hotel would refuse to let me check in early if the room was ready. They definitely need to improve in this regard.
- 5/5
Best hotel in DC I’ve stayed at in this price range
- 5/5
Analysts a cool stay and great customer service.
- 5/5
Great service, I would definitely return!
- 5/5
Good
- 4/5
The property was nice, but tiny. The view was great. The main issue was the shower. The water would not keep the temperature and the shower was a cheaper installed room addition in the middle of the room. It’s great for one, but not really comfortable for a family. Still, the room was clean and the atmosphere was welcoming.
- 5/5
Zena is an awesome boutique hotel. Great location, central to many things. The staff are kind helpful and informative. The theme of the hotel is done with such creative insights representing the history and current women’s movements. Inspirational and chic at the. same time. I will definitely stay again!
- 5/5
I didn’t like the front desk and the overnight security guard
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Beautiful but the buy in for me is the themed property dedicated to dope ass women!! I truly enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
I would highly recommend staying at hotel zena! The property is very nice, the staff (especially Ezekiel at the front desk) was so kind and make check in and check out very simple. The location was perfect and close to many dining options including my office! Great experience overall :)
- 2/5
For a non-smoking facility, we couldn't stand the smell of pot in the hotel. Even in our room on the 8th floor, the stench permeated our room. The staff however was polite and our room was very nice. Wonderful location. Not sure if we will return.
- 4/5
The location is central to touristic attractions and most neighborhoods for restaurants. The shower is a bit awkward as it takes up a fair amount of space. The water temp can be hard to modulate. There's no vent in the bathroom for the shower/ toilet. You will have to wait or physically dry the mirrors to do makeup, etc. The hard 3pm check in is annoying, but maybe it's a staffing thing and not a cash grab. Overall, good value.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel room with a great view of the city. Comfortable king size bed. Great location and valet parking was great. Second time staying at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed myy
- 4/5
Great location
- 5/5
Great property within walking distance to many dining locations, museums, etc.
- 3/5
Very expensive for the money. It’s as though someone took an old crappy hotel and put lipstick on it. Fine but not worth the cost
- 5/5
I was upgraded to the King Suite. It was very spacious and had all the amenities.
- 5/5
I love the hoodies, and the beanies! And breakfast was delicious. Thanks for all your help, being a stop on my journey to meeting the love of my life that night! haha YAY
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel in prime location - lots of restaurants and near White House and other sights. The decor is very feminist - lobby has floor to ceiling mosaic of RBG and my room had a Sotomayor pillow. I didn’t mind because I like that but if it bothers you - be forewarned.
- 5/5
Staff were amazing and property was very clean and comfortable! There are a lot of restaurant choices in this area that are within walking distance ,also! Parking was a bit pricey but you are able to come and go at your leisure. The parking across the street was cheaper but does not allow re-entry without paying again. Would definitely go back!
- 5/5
Best stay in DC!!!
- 4/5
Nice property. Kind staff. Unique bathrooms. Pleasant stay
- 5/5
Great staff
- 5/5
Great hotel

Hotel Zena is excellent, affordable, in a good location, fun, and has a great staff.
