No instructions on how to use the TV…..rendering it useless for my entire 7 day visit! I complained that there were only 2 hangers in the room….the front desk told ME to go to laundry room to get some. Housekeeper said that there were none….when I went to the front desk,a maintenance man told me to wait and he came back with 5 more! When I asked for fresh linens after a shower the front desk AGAIN sent me to the laundry room to get my own! This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE from a well-known hotel chain…..I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone!!

In addition, there was a persistent unpleasant odor throughout the room and surrounding premises. The overall condition of the property did not match the expectations set by the listing. Cleanliness and maintenance appear to need significant improvement. I hope management addresses these issues so future guests can have a better experience.

The room I had smelled like strong marijuana. I saw a roach on the wall. The chair inside the room has visible holes on the cushion. The towels were old. The sheet had stains on it. The door was very dirty. The furniture is also old.

The room that was given to us, have a strong animal stench that was tried to make it lest noticeable with a air wick. The bathroom had mold on the shower and paint peeling off, when you take a shower the water run out to the toilet making it useless until the water dried out. We found roaches also. The room isn't cleaned unless you request it a day in advance.When we asked for another room, there was none available. I tried several times until they provided me another a little better since it was recently cleaned however when we returned it had a musty odor and we found roaches also.

The cleanliness is poor. There is trash in the wastebaskets that isn't ours. There is water on the bathroom floor. The shower is dirty—there are even cockroaches. There are cobwebs on the walls. The bedding is stained. On another occasion, we stayed at a different location—part of the same chain—and it was in the exact same condition. It is horrible.

The property location maybe the star of this review. It's close to pretty much everything. Target is right next door and Panda Express is a few steps away. Restaurants line the street where the property is located. Believe me, you'll never get hungry.

Property was old and rundown. In our room, there were holes in the wall in the bathroom, the light above the sink did not work, only a couple of channels worked on the t.v., the WiFi only worked during the daytime, and the worst part is the ROACHES. We checked in at night and did not see any bugs...but the next morning we seen 2 in the bathroom and 1 in the sink, all babies. We had an appointment and came back around noon...we saw 3 more by the sink, including one huge adult bug that was behind one of our bags. We were booked to stay 2 nights...we did not. We packed up and found another hotel...thankfully, no bugs there

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent three-night stay. Despite reserving a non-smoking room, I was initially checked into a smoking room that smelled of stale smoke and had a leaking bathroom. Upon requesting a change, the second room provided also had a strong odor. Furthermore, the room was incredibly noisy due to a rattling AC and vibrations that lasted all night. To make matters worse, my room was never serviced once during my entire stay.

It took 2 weeks of me calling to get my deposit back. They kept telling me it was sent just wait and I would wait and it would never come so I call back and they tell me the exact same thing. They will try so hard to not refund your deposit. Also the rooms are disgusting. They smell terrible and musty, the ac barely works, the towels are old and dingy and look like they don't use bleach. The wifi does not work and the TV didn't even have a remote so you couldn't even use it. The bed sinks in almost like you're laying on a air mattress. The staff is rude. NONE of the lamps worked. It was just a terrible stay I do not recommend

Staff was inattentive, no communication or sincere effort for customer service. Had people smoking, other than cigarettes, on stairwell next to office. Rooms left much to be desired, starting with the questionable bedspreads and pillows. Property is looking tired and in need of much TLC. I checked out very early and front desk didn’t bat an eye with my concerns. Someone left a large dog in the next room, barked all night.

Everything is false advertising. It's a complete dump, no fridge, no microwave, no clean anything, the towels were stained and not even white, the room wreaked of cigarettes especially the bed, the lock was broken, the whole bathroom covered in mold and the wall falling off and wholes in it. Most disgusting place I've ever been. If I could give it a negative 10 I would. The place should be condemned.

In the first room they gave us, the toilet was broken and running nonstop. The second room was covered in mold and little bits of hair and garbage. The underwire from a bra was sticking out of the lamp. Several things were broken or damaged: the tv, the air conditioning unit, the lamp, the phone. The shower didn't drain properly. And there were burn marks all over the bedding and curtains. There's so much more that was terrible here: the men screaming at each other outside in the middle of the night, the receptionist hanging up the phone every time someone called, the garbage everywhere. I contacted the customer service for RRInn+ to ask for a refund so I could stay somewhere else while I was in town. They said it would take a week to review the case. Unable to book another room somewhere else without the refund, we endured. And then they refused the refund because they had given us a new room and we had technically stayed through the booking. I will never ever stay at another Red Roof Inn and I will make sure everyone knows how horrible they've become.

Bed mattress was broken into. It had indention of a heavy person who may have last slept there. Coffee maker had missing parts. No coffee available in room. Restroom had what looked like rotting on the ceiling and I saw a roach. I asked staff for towels on the 1st night we stayed there. They said not til the next morning. Outside was worse. The grounds were covered in dog waste, which shows no one is maintaining the property. Several cars in the lot looked severely damaged or totaled. That created an unsafe atmosphere. Neither my wife nor I felt comfortable walking around. This place needs serious cleaning, repairs, and better property management. I would not stay here again.

Room basically just had a bed and shower. There were no microwave, or fridge. Didn't have a phone to call front desk. When i talked to the guy at the front desk he gave me a no care attitude, and told me i got what i paid for. It was not worth the $167.00 I paid to book the room plus another $50 at check in. I have never had an issue with this hotel line before. I will never stay at this one again. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE.

Sink leaking on floor. Very hot in room 75-80 degrees and unable to turn down heat on thermostat and windows were nailed shut. No coffee in the room. No hairdryer in room. Lighting was very dim as light over sink did not work. No vending machines and no breakfast. Rooms need a massive facelift. Get with the times Red Roof Plus.

To begin, I walked in my room, air conditioner cover was broken, one of the beds seemed as if someone just laid on the bed & left. Not to mention, I walked into the bathroom, & someone had just taken a shower, because the tub was still wet with a very dirty used wash rag on the tub from whomever just showered right before I walked in. Most Disturbing was that I killed 8 roaches in just one nights stay. PLEASE fix the roach issue. Although, the room area was quiet. No microwave, no refrigerator. Floor smelled like cat urine.Please fix the roach issue & train housekeeping to make sure to look everywhere, under beds, behind & between shower curtains, behind doors, basically everywhere to make sure all is cleansed & clear of the prior visitors presence. Other than that, no issue with the hotel for the price you pay. The price was great, yet, you get what you pay for. PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE Fix the roach issue and the hotel will be BEYOND GREAT!!!

I had to switch rooms twice. First time, the bed linen was filthy. I found a stain on one of the pillows as well. The second time, the cigarette smell was so strong, I couldn’t breathe well. The last room was decent. Found a stain at the foot of the comforter but I was tired of moving around. Thankfully, there were 4 pillows to choose from since one felt like it had something hard on it and another had a stain. The towel hook was just sitting on the wall. I found that out when I tried to hang a hand towel. And there were cigarette ashes on the doorstop in the bathroom. Didn’t see that until the next day. Tried to turn on the tv. The remote worked. The tv didn’t come on and I didn’t bother trying to figure out why. I know you get what you pay for and I was just paying for a bed. But I would never stay there again.

I have never stayed in a room that didn't provide a fridge and a coffee pot. I will be staying in the Chicago area a few times a year for the next few years, but I will be looking for a different place to stay that does provide a fridge and coffee maker in their rooms from now on as this is something that my husband and I have decided is necessary for us.

This place was one of the worst I’ve ever been to. After three room changes, I finally gave up and went to another hotel. The first room had mold all over the bathroom, and the second room was under construction and didn’t even have a bed. The third room had what looked like blood and feces in the tub, and the faucet was running very loudly. Stay away from this place at all cost

The room was dated, which is fine for the price they were asking, but they wanted extra for a microwave and refrigerator. I guess that’s a Red Roof Inn thing so I will just avoid them from now on to avoid any confusion. The WiFi in my room was spotty at best. When I could get a signal it would frequently disconnect. So much for getting reports out. I stayed for a week and not once did housekeeping even enter my room. Just overall a bad experience. I’m done with Red Roof Inn. They used to be a good chain. It’s kind of sad actually.

It says it is a two-star hotel. I assume it is a negative two-star hotel. I requested room service to clean, but they refused. Made a phone call to request toilet paper, and they asked me to pick it up from the front desk because they do not have anyone deliver it at 7 pm. A negative two-star hotel does not have a common microwave or refrigerator facility for guests in the kitchen or lobby.

I was really upset when i had told the office about the air conditioner problem. They sent someone down to check it and he vacuumed it and said it would be cooling in a couple of hours. We left and went to where we were going for the day and when we returned it was still very hot and it was put on the coldest setting. I ended up perspiring so much i had to get up at 4 a.m. and shower after only getting 2 and a half hours of sleep due to discomfort. I have left a message every day since i showed up here with the hopes things would get better, i was wrong. Between the air, the having to use my own personal information to watch t.v. with the apps, to seeing a cockroach, and my daughter not being able to be repaud for the first night because the room was too hard to get to, it was a nightmare. I think in those 3 days, minus the day of non usage, ive had a total of 4 hours sleep. Now i have to drive 3 hours to get back to my home. I hope they fix what is broken and start listening to when people tell them theres something wrong. And for God's sake check your phone in the office because its always busy and when it rings no one answers.

At check in I was offered a room with king size bed instead of two double beds which was confirmed by my reservation. After showing a copy of my confirmed reservation, the room was changed to two double beds. Bathroom exhaust fan was extremely noisy. Lamp on desk did not work. On second day they gave me a different room, which was better.

When I checked in, there was another guest complaining that his TV didn't work and I thought it was a one off situation...nope, I was so wrong. I got to my room and the toilet was broken. The handle was literally falling off the toilet and wouldn't stop running. I was put in another room and the air conditioning was so loud right next to the bed. I was then given keys to two different rooms so I could pick which one was better. The bed was not comfortable at all (good thing I brought my own matress topper) and everything just seemed dirty. They aren't putting money into keeping up the hotel. Don't waste your money, STAY ANYWHERE ELSE!

The thing I did not like was the cleanliness of the place, I don’t know if it was just my room but it smelled like cigarettes! Especially the bathroom. Had to buy a Fabreeze from target cause it was that strong and the smell wouldn't leave. I told the staff and they even told me it wasn’t supposed to smell like that and that people sometimes smoke( there not supposed to)so I don’t know. but I needed a place to be. And it was very dusty especially near the ceiling. Other than this it was ok. Would I come back Idk, if the place doesn’t smell like cigarettes and wasn’t so dusty I probably would but with that strong smell I can’t.

It was ok, the sheets have seen better days. Clean but did have a cigarette burn hole in them. The place smelled so bad of dog though. I didn’t read they let dogs in so it took me by surprise. If you’re just needing a place to rest for the night it’s an ok place but otherwise I wouldn’t stay again.

The front desk staff was rude, argued about giving me a receipt. The room was only cleaned once in our 4 night stay and that was only because I called and complained. Multiple bugs (roaches/moths/gnats) were found and killed in the room. Basic things like towels and toilet paper were not chanhed ir resupplied without asking the front desk and even then they made it seem like a huge inconvenience. I'm assuming someone that was a manager was the person that came by the room to ask what the issues were only after I filed a formal complaint with the red roof corporate office. He stated they could not move me due to them being solid booked. Even after all of that, the only thing that was done was they refunded my deposit and acted as if I should be grateful I got that money back. The corporate office offered me travel points in a small amount that I refused as I never intend on staying at a red roof again. Pictures dont match rooms, towels were thing, barely covered my childs body, thin and didnt dry anything. Sheets were never changed, carpet was sticky/gummy feeling, people in parking lot grilling every day and smell of weed everywhere even in a non smoking area. Room itself was run down, not upgraded and had hair painted onto the door. They didnt even clean before "remodeling". This is in a nice area, not sure why the hotel is so bad. It is also labeled as a "plus" and it was less than a standard red roof. Skip and stay somewhere else. The location is amazing but not worth it.

We have stayed in numerous red roof inns in several different states with no issues. However, this one would not be recommended or booked again. When we arrived at 8pm it was getting dark but we noticed as walking up stairs and to the room that everything was rusted and crumbling (not a great first look). Get to our room and are immediately hit with the stale room smell. Unpacked and got kids to bed. Went to lay down ourselves and realized that there is a large size divet in bed. Had to use 2 blankets and 2 towels to fill hold to try to make it even enough to sleep without feeling like u would fall off/in the hole. Next morning bathroom light picked and chooses when it would turn on, bathroom sink constantly dripped, shower barely drained, and there was an unusual beep that would occur randomly throughout our stay. We mentioned issues to staff and they simply said we will check on it when you check out. Overall would not recommend staying at this location.

Came back after check in hours and soon as we open the door a bad musty smell of the room was just awful. Being so tired from our red-eye flights we did not bother requesting to be moved as we don’t want to face the same rudeness. Towels were so thin (overused, good for rags). I even have to go to the front desk office to have them replaced but managed to replace just one because he said the laundry is closed and will open 8:30am the next day. By the way we also have to ask from the front desk Toilet Paper every time, even though they know that we booked the room for 4 occupants only a roll they supplied in the room. When we booked the room it says “upgraded beddings and snacks”, nothing of this. Beddings were beyond standard, bed is not comfortable, every morning my back hurts! No snacks at all for the 6-days stay, no coffee in the room, we have to go to the office every morning for it, no hair dryer, on the 3rd day I need to request for it. Room isn’t cleaned, you have to ask for it. So I did twice. Cockroach in the bathroom (I have picture to prove it) and the musty smell lingered all through our stay, can not ventilate the room as there were no windows. Over all, will never again book any Red Roof +Plus property. Not sure what the plus for, as for us it is a minus!

When we got in, everything was cool we checked in perfectly fine. It was up until we got to the hotel room that we found out that half the lights didn’t work an outlet didn’t work. There was barely any towels for us. There was no phone in the hotel room no fridge no microwave And it felt like we had to do everything ourselves.

Advertises upgraded bedding and a snack but neither was avaliable. When i asked about these things they had no idea what I was talking about. They charge extra for this option and never offered to refund the extra or provide what was offered. The ac also struggled on a 80 degree night... it would be a nightmare to stay here if it was really hot.

The first room provided smelled like a dirty dog had stayed there. The second room smelled better but was in poor condition. The seat cushion was ripped, the mattresses were lumpy. Drawers in dresser and night stand looks like had gotten wet and bubbled. The towels were old and thin. Barely dried. Had to ask for additional towels. The room was never cleaned or towels replaced during the 4 days. I had to ask for additional towels and garbage bags. I have photos if you need examples.

Control remote for the TV was missing. When I complained the one they gave me did not work. WIFI didn't work either, super weak and most of thevtime my computer could't even see the router. One of the lamps overvthe headboard was missing light bulbs, and the doorknob to the bathroom was hollow, not even a cover. Grant it, this is a cheap stay, nevertheless the stuff in the room should work and be serviceable.

Our room was in poor condition. Two lights didn't work properly, one not at all; the seat of the vinyl chair was worn and flaking, the towels were thread-bare, but worst of all were the bugs, including roaches.

The worst stay in a hotel I have ever been in. I did not even stay the entire three days I booked for because the two nights I did stay I found bugs everywhere. First night it was only two. Second night, I pulled the cover back and there was roaches there and then after killing them, me and my friends found more crawling inside the microwave door. We didn't have AC the first night because they “didnt have time to fix it”.

Awful stay. Stayed 6/19–6/23 and had to buy my own towels and toilet paper because they only gave us a used roll and one towel for multiple people. Room wasn’t cleaned before we got there — stained sheets, dirty floor — and no one ever came to clean during our stay. Staff acted annoyed when we asked for basic things like a key or supplies. Ice machine was broken and the place was loud nonstop. Never again.

Arrived to check in only to be told that two of the four rooms I reserved had been cancelled. No explanation, no phone call prior to the cancellation. We were in town for a wedding and my family and I ended up getting ready in a Target bathroom. So unprofessional. Never again will I reserve a room for Red Roof Inn.

We were given a 3rd floor room which was fine since there was an elevator. The room was a decent size. I expected it to have a microwave and refrigerator and it did not. The vending machine and ice machine were on the 1st floor in the front of the building. A bit of a walk. Negatives - strong smell of weed outside of the room and sometimes in the restroom through the vent. Not able to view certain tv channels. Middle drawer of the chest of drawers would not stay closed.

Smoking all over the motel! Got in an argument with two people standing outside my door smoking! When I opened my door the room filled with smoke! Talk to front desk he didn’t care said I should talk to smokers! I asked him why there was not a single NO SMOKING sign anywhere he had no ide! Never been around so much cigarette smoke in many years! I will be very careful about this in the future!

Constant battle to get my full deposit back. Even being a reular they still mess up my refunds at least 10 times now telling you they sent it in full only days later its not there constant back and forth the manager does not posses customer service skills tells you your not welcome back brcause i am always battling to get my deposit one time it took 14 days and sgain the full amount of 72 was not returned they gas lite you telling you they returned it in full when they dont just like my last return again im done with that location until they change managment

1.Microwave and refrigerator aren’t available in every room. 2.Hair dryer, iron&board are available per request. No shower cap. 3.Only 2 towel sets allow per room regardless of how many people stay there. You can take the dirty towels to exchange with the clean ones yourself. 4.Major issues w/cleanliness. Request for a housekeeping service a night ahead at front desk. Otherwise, no room cleaning at all. 5.Some guests disregard the smoking policy. They smoked cigarettes in front of the their rooms on the 2nd & 3rd floor. Please reinforce the no smoking policy. 6.Deposit fee is $50 per room 7.At best, all hotel staffs: front desk reps, maintenance, housekeepers are so attentive and friendly. Thanks for assisting us for entire week. You got extra star here! 8. Entire facility’s common areas are covered with lights and security cameras. The police is monitoring the activity. IMHO, the hotel is inexpensive and good enough if you needed a night stay when passing through here. The environment isn’t suitable for children and people with conditions. If comfort and clean environment are so important to you, please stay somewhere else. The staffs are willing to help everyone, just politely asking them for assistance. Hope it helps!

I had a packaged delivered in my stay and the young woman at the front refused my delivery because she thought I checked out when I just checked in and wa staying there for 7 days. Not a bad option to stay , fair price, not luxury of course but not too bad too. Pretty clean room, target outside (very close) so you can get anything you need. Bad thing is that there is no public transportation nearby so you will need to take an uber and it costs around 30-35$ to Downtown and etc. but it has everything you need around, places to eat, target and etc. Another disadvantage is that it smells outside really bad sometimes, not all the time , but time by time, like sewerage.
