Room could have been cleaner, couch and carpet was gross and there were stains on the walls

Great check in, clean room, breakfast was great.

the tile floors were sticky.

Spacious, good breakfast One light was flickering and I called and nobody helped.
- 4.5/5
The staff were very courteous and friendly. The suite provided all the amenities expected The breakfast bar had a good selection of food. The room could have been cleaner. The shower curtain needed replacing and the bottom around the flooring had the beginnings of mold build up. The duvets on the bed had stains that looked as if they'd been drug through mud and left to dry that way.

This property is very old and it is apparent. The room given for my reservation was a shock to my system- I opened the door to scratched up arms on the sofa, outdated, threadbare, and roughly-handled decor, stains on the bed skirts, and an obviously absent tub in service of an 'accessible' shower. The carpet throughout the property is horribly dirty. Even the plant as you come in is dying! The staffer who originally checked me in left, and Kaitlyn come on shift. She was very accommodating to my displeasure, and offered a different room on a floor that had been updated. This room looked like the first one, minus the clawed-up fabric on the sofa. She swiftly began processing my refund, for which I was very grateful to have done without conflict. Thanks, anyway! clbrown

Our room was dirty and we ended up switching hotels. The couch had stains all over it and the hallway floors were also stained. I sat down in the chair in our living room area and started itching. We decided to find another hotel.
- 3/5
The hotel is very dated. Needs upgrades. The corridor carpet is disgusting. Stains all over looks dirty. The room was clean but the furniture in the room was dirty looking and old. Needs replacing.

Every person who worked there was friendly, helpful, and genuinely wanted to make our stay as pleasant as possible!

Night time front desk was not friendly at all, almost acted bothered we were checking in. It was okay for one night, wasn’t great but wasn’t terrible either for the price. Pool wasn’t open either.
- 4/5
Here's the but.....Rooms need to be kept cleaner. Tiled areas of the floor in kitchen and bathroom were filthy! Bathroom smelt stale. Breakfast is only continental, with waffle maker. Attendant did not keep food items and condiments well stocked. Had to ask to get a response.
- 5/5
Hotel staff friendly hotel was clean in perfect location eoom wasvery spacious and nice will definitely stay here again
- 5/5
We got a really good deal on our room and were very happy with it. We stayed three nights, and it was quiet the whole time. The room was spacious with plenty of closet and dresser space and a small kitchen area. Look, it's not glamorous, the hallway rugs are a bit worn, but the room was spotless and it's well situated between the airport and downtown and the university. The staff is friendly and quite helpful. We got there early for check-in, but the woman at the front desk found us a room that had already been cleaned, so we did not have to wait around with our luggage. All in all, it suited us perfectly.
- 5/5
Breakfast options a little lacking for adults but kids loved it.
- 3/5
The carpets were dirty in the hallway. The vents in the rooms were dirty and looked like mold. Kitchen was clean. Didn’t have breakfast there. Beds were comfortable.
- 4/5
An older hotel but also very affordable. Very convenient in and out. Breakfast was adequate, good waffles. Were greeted by every staff we met. Very comfy beds and clean bathroom. Suite was nice to spread out in. Will book again.
- 4/5
Room hair dryer was dead - not due to grd fault breaker. Both Laundry dryer machines out of order - can't wash clothes! Side entrance keycard lock broken - must use main entry. Room had a odd organic oder - didn't bother me but drove the wife crazy! Other than that it is a very nice place!
- 3/5
Breakfast was bagels, waffles and muffins only. Fine. Dining area was not very clean. Coffee very weak
- 2/5
Brown smears on the wall and breakfast was lacking
- 3/5
I would have rated it higher except for the Manager Caitlin. Her attitude is of a correctional officer where the guests don’t have a choice where they stay. She should not work in the hospitality industry whatsoever, she’s rude, abrupt, and needs to realize guests have choices where we spend our money. She might have won the battle, but she definitely lost this war. I recommend to her that she should never speak to guests again, doubtful it will stick. Good luck, stay at your own risk.
- 5/5
Very clean, smelled clean, and the breakfast was great.
- 2/5
Staff was friendly and the hotel is nearby a lot of good areas, however when you walk in, the carpet is super dirty. We got a king bed and had a portable AC with a hose that was blue taped all over the window. Looked very ghetto. No actual breakfast just basic cereal, muffins, bagels, and waffles. I was expecting eggs, sausage, or bacon the very least!
- 3/5
Sofas should be leather and not fabric as I see stains as well and it would be easier for housekeeping to clean. Will not stay at this hotel in future.
- 4/5
The only drawback was the lack of kitchen items. we felt that to be truly useful to seniors or families who have to consider budgets, the kitchen could be better equipped. we know that most businesses are also considering budgets or bottom line as well. To economically equip the kitchen so that it becomes useful, perfectly good kitchen items can be obtained at thrift stores, Goodwill's or discount stores. These are just thoughts from 2 seniors that really enjoyed your property.
- 4/5
The hotel was nice. The location fantastic for my purpose which was a conference at UNCW. The room was comfortable and clean. My room/suite had a small kitchen, living room, bedroom with 2 queen sized beds and a bathroom. I did not use anything in the kitchen so I cannot write about that. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean. The bathroom showerhead had good water pressure. I was on the third floor and used the stairs most of the time. The carpet was not very clean. It was stained and did not look good. I didn't care about that too much. OK the one thing that was not good, but it was not about the room, Was the breakfast and exercise room. No protein at all for breakfast, just cheap carbohydrate stuff that I did not eat. The exercise room only had I think a bike and 2 treadmills. Just three cardio things. No dumbbells. I expected, at least some, dumbbells. No problem since I didn't go there to workout. If I were to give this hotel a grade, it would be a solid A minus. So yes, I would go there again. I would just make sure to have my own foods and a TRX or bands for exercise.
- 5/5
While there were stains on the hallway rugs, the room was clean, and the facilities amazing. If you needed something, like a toaster or blender, they had them to borrow. The kitchen [!] in the room had a built in microwave, two burner electric stove, oven, dishwasher, full size refrigerator that was spotless. The drip coffee maker was clean, and made great coffee. The staff members were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast enough to get you going. Coffee all day - a gym, laundry on premises, they allow dogs, beautiful flowers outdoors, a patio with two gas grills and outdoor seating a pleasant shady environment. The king bed was great! no rolling to the middle. I plan to be back!
- 3/5
Bedroom, bathroom and kitchen were clean. However, the couch had lots of stains and we didn't want to sit on it. The carpets in the hallways also had many stains. The air conditioning in the room was very loud and made a low noise unlike other hotel ACs - made it harder to sleep.
- 5/5
Room was clean, only stayed one night
- 5/5
Entire Staff were friendly and professional.

Also, breakfast varietiey.
- 5/5
Great spot close to the college, which was perfect for a college tour. Beds were soft and comfortable with good linen. Towels were a little thin, but the room was nice and clean and there was plenty of room even with two dogs three kids and two adults we missed being able to go to the pool because it was too cold and then it rained and although it says it’s open in the beginning of April, it wasn’t
- 5/5
Breakfast was fresh wish they’re was a breakfast meat option… the location of the pool should be mentioned… overall we enjoyed & would stay again 7/10
- 5/5
Everything was great, the staff the food the room. Except it was advertised the pool was open from April - October. But when i arrived it is not. The staff said it didn't open til memorial day. I booked this hotel because it had a pool. So i was disappointed in the mis-information

Low on wash cloth, I ask for some day after I got there on a 2 night stay but none was available also they ran out of some stuff for breakfast ( according to staff)
- 3/5
Upon arrival there were no sheets, blankets or pillows for the pull out and when we called they tried saying they didnt have more but eventually did get us some. Carpet in hallway is heavily stained. Stayed 2 nights, 2nd morning they were out of apple juice and yogurt, which is all my toddler wanted.

- 5/5
All good
- 5/5
Comfortable king bed, and clean enough overall (found a stray M&M under chair, and needed to flip cushion over because of worrying stain), asked and received linens for couch bed. Room was spacious and I appreciated the set up with the entry door on the other side of a wall to minimize hearing hallway noise.
- 2/5
Clean room but housekeeping didn’t come to my room but 1 of the 4 nights. The pillows were bulky and not comfortable. Miguel was really helpful. There was gnats where the muffins were stored and in the room.

Staff was courteous room was alright lighting in the room could have been better the stair well up to our room was hard to beath in due to the smell of dog urine. Breakfast was not what we expected very limited options. The bath tub was dangerous i had to hold on to the handle the entire time i felt if i let go i would slip.
- 5/5

- 5/5
The room was super clean. The common areas were all well maintained and clean as well. Location was perfect for my needs.
- 5/5

- 4/5
The room was clean, but old. They give you everything you need in the kitchen except dish soap, just don't expect anything fancy. We were there for five days, and not once did housekeeping pick up our garbage or replace used items. The staff were exceptional! I met three different front desk receptionists, all great. The women cleaning up the buffet breakfast area was fantastic. She really understood infection prevention and control.
- 4/5
It was fine for the price . Stair hallways were very dirty , hallways stunk , but room was fine . Made my own breakfast in the kitchenette . Room was stuffy , but opening the window was great ! Staff was friendly and helpful ! Can’t beat the price and the convenient location .

The lady that checked me in, upgraded me and check in was short. She was very nice. Thank you for a great stay!
- 4/5
The water in the pool was not clear.
- 5/5
Upon arriving the person at the feont desk was very welcoming. So kind!!!!! Felt like it was home away from home. So comfortable and peaceful and clean. 10/10 i would recommend. Will definitely go back in the near future.
- 2/5
The room was large but getting to your room looks like a crime scene the carpets in the hall are so disgustingly filthy and even though I had a non smoking room, all I could smell was cigarette smoke in the hall and my room.
- 5/5
One of the few hotels that has parking a truck and large trailer.
- 1/5
I gagged when I entered the room
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay here. I will definitely be returning back every time I come to town.
- 4/5
The room was clean. The furniture (chair and love seat) in the room was dirty, stained and was very worn.
- 1/5
They do not clean, there is no standard of cleanliness here. You can smell the bleach or cleaning products on most properties, not here. I doubt they have a vacuum. I say this because there was crushed goldfish, dog food on the floor with coffee splashed around the kitchen area. The sheets weren’t even changed, they just tucked the comforter over it. How do I know? Cause the sheets were all wrinkled and had pubic hairs. Don’t bother with this place.
- 4/5
I really enjoy the space, however I think the cleaning staff should pay a bit more attention to details. There was a crown Royal bottle in the pull out couch. So I didn't feel safe allowing my children to sleep on it being that it couldn't have been properly cleaned.
- 5/5
Not a 5 star hotel, but a good value for the money, quiet, easy convenient parking, decent room, clean, well stocked. Better than average (included) breakfast, good selection of breakfast foods. If in Wilmington and need a place to stay I highly recommend mainStay suites of Wilmington. It's my new "go to" hotel when I'm in Wilmington.
- 5/5
Clean , excellent service, could use carpet replaced in hallways. Musty smell in room, but not bad. Great place.
- 5/5
All the staff were very helpful and free. Clean rooms.
- 2/5
Maid service came to give clean towels but did not clean or make beds Shower drain was not working properly so water just gathered in tub while showering
- 5/5
Great value. Clean spacious room. The staff was so friendly and nice to my dog. The grounds are well kept.
- 4/5
The courtyard is pretty.
- 5/5
Very thankful for the professionalism, flexibility, and friendliness of the staff that I interacted with.
- 2/5
Property is pet friendly
- 1/5
The rooms furniture wasn’t fit to sit on. The rooms and hallway odour was dreadful and the communal pool wasn’t at the hotel. The communal sitting areas were ok.
- 5/5
This was a nice and clean property
- 5/5

- 4/5
This property was great for our family. Close proximity to many dining and shopping options. The room was a nice size and clean. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 4/5
First assigned room, key card would not work. After 3 failed attempts staff reassigned me. New room was fine but shower rod was damaged so that curtain sagged, didn’t close.
- 5/5
very nice and clean place
- 4/5
Little bit of an older building, could use a refresh but it got the job done - continental breakfast was meh (like most things are) but can't complain too much. It got the job done, wouldn't be above staying at this place again.
- 3/5
The availability of coffee and other supplies was limited. Had a maintenance request which which was not done in time and the staff was not concerned at all about it; level of customer service was lacking.

- 3/5
The room has a terrible dog’s smell, there were dog’s hair everywhere. I will never stay here again, I do have pets my self but it is disgusting to sleep in a bed smelling bad. My husband has allergies and he could not sleep.
- 1/5
Rooms had holes in furniture, pool was shared with a neighboring hotel, bed linens were dirty , food splattered on curtains, had to change rooms twice because of these issues
- 5/5
Excellent stay
- 4/5
The property was conveniently located for our needs, and as a suites-style we enjoyed having a private bedroom, sitting/living area, and kitchenette. This room was also pet-friendly on the 1st floor. We did have a problem with the exterior doors not properly opening with our key cards - multiple times, in fact. I reported this to the front desk. Also - their pet policy states no pets over 25 pounds.....but we encountered several MUCH larger dogs, which was a bit intimidating as we were walking out 15-pounder.
- 1/5
Needs a deep cleaning and maintenance.
- 4/5
Spacious room
- 2/5
It was not well maintained and there were stains on the bed and the office chair was so filthy we had to ask for another. Light was broken in kitchen and it just felt old and dirty. They only had one very tiny shampoo bottle for a room that sleeps six and no conditioner. The pull out couch was disgusting when pulled out - literally impossible to sleep on so we had to buy an inflatable mattress. It was spacious and the lay out of the room was great, but needs deep cleaning, painting, carpet cleaning, and maintenance. Pool is not on site, it’s shared with hotel across the street.
- 3/5
It was OK. Hallway carpets not the cleanest. Breakfast was OK. Couch smelled and the poor person who slept on it slept backwards.
- 4/5
It was a nice stay the rooms were cle a n and everybody was very hopeful and nice
- 1/5
This place was terrible. I had to change rooms four times, and I still wasn't comfortable. The first room had a stench, and the second room, the couch was filthy ( I have pictures to prove it). The third room also had a smell, and I settled for the last room. At that point, I was not comfortable staying at that hotel at all. We did not stay there at all. We ended up canceling the rest of the reservation and stayed somewhere else that we found at the last minute.
- 4/5
Thank you to Ms. Annette for her southern hospitality offered daily during our stay. Downside was the elevator was noisy, shaky and sometimes very limited. Each evening there was little to no parking available to us and since our key cards were limited to access this became annoying quickly.
- 3/5
Loud party one night at 3am.
- 5/5
Nice place, comfotable room. Subpar btreakfast.
- 5/5
Great staff friendly service
- 1/5
VERY STRONG URINE SMELL IN ROOM
- 4/5
Bed was comfy and room was spacious. Breakfast started at 6:30. There was only coffee and no lids. Staff came in at 6:30 but did not put much out. Also changed tv station from news to an infomercial then took the remote? Went back down to eat at 8:30 and the were only a couple bagels, muffins and some cereal
- 5/5
All was wonderful, check in, the area really nice, plenty of places to eat. Great for family.
- 4/5
The need more options for the breakfast, and it needs to have more cookware the rest we really like, is a great location it has almost everything we need
- 5/5
a kitchen. Room space makes want to stay longer!!!
- 5/5
The beds were not as clean as I’d like there was hair from former people or staff but otherwise it was clean and a very convenient area
- 5/5
Room was nice and spacious, breakfast as expected, area felt safe. Pool was nice. 30 minutes from Wrightsville Beach and 30 minutes from Kure Beach.
- 2/5
The property was not what I expected. The inside was very run down appearance. The bedding smelled. Grateful I only paid for one night.
- 5/5
Muy limpio
- 5/5
Our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The reception was eager to help, breakfast was great, and the room was convenient and nice!
- 5/5
Good place to stay.
- 5/5
excellent
- 5/5
Well located, checking out at 12 is very convenient. The king suite was recently updated, roomy and clean.
- 4/5
Everything was great, except the pillows, they were terrible and killed our necks/backs but just bring your own and everything else was awesome!
- 3/5
There was heavy black buildup on the vents in the bedroom area and in the living room area. It was not just dust. Looked like mold. There was a piece of feaux wood at the base of the desk that was lying on the floor bc the glue adhering it to the desk had come unadhered.
- 2/5
Smelled pot everyday, dog howling in next room while trying to sleep, carpets extremely dirty throughout
- 5/5
Front desk and staff are amazing.
- 3/5
The hotel is outdated and systems are old. Our air conditioning went out the first night and it was very hot in the room. We got no sleep at all. Staff was friendly and got us new room in the morning but only gave a 15% discount on first night
- 5/5
Our stay was great. Everyone was very friendly at the hotel. Our room was roomy enough. Large bathroom. Furniture wasn’t that comfy but doable for the time we were there. All in all our stay was pretty good.
- 3/5
The water pressure wasnt good in my room!
- 5/5
Took a trip for my birthday weekend our stay was great the staff was friendly and helpful the room was clean. I definitely would recommend for families.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
A nice suite hotel with reasonable prices. Close to beaches, shopping, and dining. Room was decent size with everything needed. The pool is outdoors and across the parking lot as it is shared with another hotel. The staff was knowledgeable about local beaches with helpful suggestions. The breakfast was a typical hotel buffet with the basics.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and great space and storage . Enjoyed the pool and the outdoor BBQ area. Only thing is the kitchen area floors weren't very clean and cookware a pot and pan were very scorched not able to really use . I would stay again but would need my own cookware .
- 5/5
Our room was cery clean and comfortable. The only thing I would complain about would be the carpets in the hallways and stairwells need a good cleaning
- 2/5
Upon arrival room was dirty hallway rug was filthy utensils were dirty
- 5/5
It was easy to find and the staff was friendly.
- 3/5
At first, I wasn't going to leave a review because I typically don't like to complain, but I do feel that the reviews/rating for this hotel are misleading and I wanted to let other travelers know. We were in town for a quick, one night stay to visit the beach during a trip to NC from another state. One one hand, I will say that the most important things to me about a hotel stay were not problems at this location- I did not see any bugs, and the location seemed safe. The staff was friendly. Having said this though, the carpets in this hotel, both in the hallways and the room, are badly in need of replacing. There is a persistent odor in the hallways. The elevator grinds and squeaks so much that it makes you concerned that you will get stuck. The sofa/pull out bed is old and stained. The key cards work inconsistently. My daughter described it best: it seems like they do the daily upkeep cleaning well, but deep cleaning and renovations are a desperate need. All in all, getting to visit the beach was worth the one night stay, but I wouldn't return to this location.
- 3/5
The room was great for our family. The pool was disappointing and our room wasn’t ready when we got there (around 4pm)
- 1/5
The room was absolutely filthy! The couch was stained, torn & thread bare. Stains on the bed covers. The refrigerator was rusty & dented. The carpet was stained. We only stayed because we had drove 10 hours & couldn’t get a refund. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!
- 4/5
It was perfect for our big group. We had 2 separate bedrooms and the living room with a pull out bed and kitchen area. Two vanities- in the bathroom and a second one by the 2 bedrooms- which worked out great when we all were getting ready. The carpets could be replaced but overall we were happy with the accommodations. The patio in the back was nice. The pool is across the parking lot at the sleep inn, which was a little confusing but we asked at the front desk and they were very helpful in answering all of our questions.
- 1/5
Upon my arrival Room was not clean bed was slept in hallway carpet is filthy was told I would be accommodated after spending almost $400 Orbitz review was false went to breakfast machine was outdated waited over 30 minutes for a cup of coffee worse experience I ever had
- 3/5
The portable air conditioner was not enough to cool the room. The room stayed hot until dawn.
- 5/5
Very clean and the staff was friendly.
- 3/5
Staff were great. The key cards are not working properly. Everytime we use its not working in our room and in the exits. We are lucky there is staff or people that stays also in the hotel who passes by so they help us to enter. We go to the front desk most of the time for it to work, which is ao frustrating since we are on the 3rd floor. In the website, it says there is a crib available but upon check in there was none. Other than that the stay was good.
- 4/5
Great for families. We loved the access to food, Target, Costco, and outlets. Close enough to university and beach. Only hot menu item for breakfast is waffles, but that's fine, they did have boiled eggs and sausage sandwiches that could be heated in microwave so that gave good savory options. Very clean, great staff.
- 3/5
3rd floor had a bad smell. Food mixed with weeks of old water.
- 2/5
Stayed there with my family used food boxes with a host of the other things undwr the bed. The couch was ripped with stains from the visitor of 1905. Someone thought so lovely of tge property they pissed on the stairs.
- 3/5
.
- 2/5
Pretty run down to say the least (dirty main areas, cupboard laying on top of fridge, soiled furniture). Probably most disturbing is the way certain staff seem to let people use the facility who are either not staying there or running some kind of a long term shared room for nefarious activity).
- 5/5
Would book again !
- 5/5
Was great
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
It was good for a one night stay
- 5/5
It was nice and the staff was friendly
- 5/5
Very clean, good quality, and very nice people. The staff was so friendly.Close to the beach aswell.
- 5/5
Very clean, spacious, safe location, close to sports complex, friendly staff, lady attending to breakfast bar was very helpful. Great weekend, will definitely be back
- 3/5
The elevator is aggressive in its take off and landing. The rooms are nice. The breakfast leaves room for improvement. Not a baf stay but also noy fantastic.
- 3/5
There was a hyperdermic needle by the broken doggie doodle receptacle. The bags of dodo went thru the bottomless receptacle. Also, put a picnic table or somewhere to sit with your dog or kids under those pines in the back. Hallway carpets should be cleaned, then maybe you wouldn’t need so much scented air freshener
- 2/5
Location was good Hotel needs an upgrade inside. The smell was horrific in the hallways.
- 5/5
Was nice little efficiency type room! And the beds were actually AMAZING!
- 2/5
First time to Wilmington and loved the location of this property. Definitely needs updated with some paint and carpet. I wouldn't consider this family friendly as the overwhelming smell of marijuana filled the hallways. I know that isn't negligence of the employees, but it made for an unpleasant stay. Next time, we will pay a little more for a privately owned property.

Checked in April 7th and was told only 30 days is optional when booking for not booking completely on how long your planning on stay , hotel is ok prices doesn’t match the room so I’m assuming it’s for the location it’s in based off pricing, they do offer appliances which is cool and housekeeping is always knocking on door and if you don’t answer they’ll use their key to come in, had an incident where they turned off my recorder I always had a yellow I’m assuming pee on my bed , I do recommend buying your own cleaning supplies before after cleaning counters in 310 they were a bit dirty then being moved to room 303 the kitchen was dirty , while I was gone for work a housekeeper came in which is ok but they didn’t clean anything they just swapped towels and put up new ones , the same stain that was on toilet when I left is there , the staff are pretty cool tho certain ones the front desk manager has an attitude problem along with a orange headed female’ I have no idea but whatever it is I hope they are ok, other than them two everyone else is great ! The breakfast lady has a attitude problem as well but again I don’t speak with them besides when paying for my room or snacks/drinks in front office i did ask after 30 days when can I check back in I was told 30 days but I won’t be coming back to this location there’s plenty of hotels , places to book , also a blonde hair girl slammed my key down , girllll everyone in this building has issues hope everything is ok with them ,

It was average, the hotel rooms are outdated & small tvs. Our room had a mild cigarette/stale smell. Overall okay, only stayed for one night

No pool on property, shares with a hotel next door.. no coffee at breakfast they told us we could walk across the parking lot to other hotel if we wanted some. The furniture inside rooms was very damaged and old. Hallways reeked everyday of Marijuana. Evening staff has lots of attitude for simple questions.

We were close to the elevator and it was very convenient. Room was clean and bed comfortable.

could hear the traffic and we were a long way from the elevator which makes it very inconvenient when you have trouble walking. For breakfast we were very disappointed to find no coffee made. Someone said the staff had advised them to go next door for some.

This is the perfect spot for an individual on a business trip, however, it offered little for families. The hotel was clean, but the breakfast was very sparse and we were told each morning of our 3 night stay to, "go across the street if you want coffee-we are out." While the price was right, we would most likely not choose this place to stay again.

The room was very clean but had a terrible smell that was overwhelming the second we walked in the door. Everything else was great.

The staff there was super friendly now problem checking in or out at all. Room was very muggy and overall not the cleanest. Breakfast they provide is not the best.
