There was a lot of noise in the room above us. The booking for this hotel did not state that you needed to park in a public parking deck that is $25/day. I had no options to add my children after booking and was charged for their breakfast that was supposed to be free. The worker at the front desk was rude and could have found a better solution to any of these issues. We've been rewards members for years and this is the only hotel we have ever had an issue with being charged for breakfast and being told to put our children on the actual booking. Overall the facility itself is decent and in a convenient location.

Nice room friendly staff

The one lady could not fix over easy eggs with out breaking a yolk. She did it 2 days in a row and eggs where over medium not easy. They also had onion rings on the menu but where out. No non alcoholic beers at the bar.
- 5/5
Everything was great, staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Room was spotless.

Rooms were amazing! Very quiet down hallways and in room. Staff & food was amazing!
- 5/5
The staff was so nice! Breakfast was good. Room was great! The kids had fun in the pool. Only disappointment was that there was no hot tub. Pictures online showed a hot tub and we were looking forward to that.
- 5/5
Had a great time. The evening “greeting” time is nice. Met nice people there. Staff is always pleasant and accommodating. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
All staff members were excellent, sadly I dont remember all names, but Braxton made a great omlette and Steven was beyond welcoming at the front. The snacks ans breakfast were big positives for the stay. Plenty of places walkable around although I wish parking was cheaper or included (even if close and easy). $20 a day. Gym was nice and it was nice to have a pool although it was pretty cold even indoors (at least for me)

Penny and the staff were wonderful and I had an excellent stay !

- 5/5
Room was clean, staff was excellent. Solid breakfast and bar. Condition of the place was alright. Property has a little age to it, but they do a good job of keeping things clean and in working order.

Service was good

- 5/5
Close proximity to downtown area
- 4/5
The room I was given was a bit run down. The first room some one smoked in the room. There were burn in the carpet. I was shown to another room. Still a bit run down but it was fine.
- 5/5
Penny was awesome right off the start! and started me off on the right experience, and then everyone else is so friendly. 3erd floor, folks cleaning rooms, said Hi, when you walk past them, instead of looking away and pretending they don't see you, like happens other places.
- 4/5
Very comfortable stay, my room was spacious, clean & neat. The staff were all really pleasant & accommodating.
- 3/5
Getting pretty run-down. Like many of the Embassy Suites we’ve stayed in lately
- 5/5
Great Stay, felt like a Marriott i stayed in New Orleans. Downtown WS is a great place, tons of restaurants and history
- 2/5
Check in was slow, parking not included, got a non smoking room and it smelled like weed, son’s bed had a cigarette burn in the sheet. Phone in the room did not work to contact the front desk. Had to go down to ask for bedding for the pull out couch. After 40 mins no one showed up with the bedding so we had to go back down. Were told that the guy who was supposed to do it didn’t have a walkie talkie and didn’t know. Just to have the guy get up and walk 10 feet to the right of the lady helping us and get it. Breakfast was nice.
- 3/5
The hotel was EXTREMELY OUTDATED. The location was great. The space of the room was great as well. The staff were so friendly and helpful with our multiple room check in. The hotel was just outdated it looked like a hotel from the early 2000’s
- 5/5
Amenities and location
- 3/5
My room was an interior room, which I wasn't a fan of, but I didn't request a room with a window. Just felt somewhat claustrophobic not being able to open a curtain / window. The tunnel to the Benton convention center is great if you're staying there on business attending a conference at Benton. Food for breakfast was great. Dining staff was very friendly. Evening drink was nice as well. Room was very spacious. Toilet was clogged before I got there, and the room key didn't work because the battery had died on the electronic door switch. Hotel staff was very quick to repair the door and unclog toilet. Overall, stay was ok. I'd probably stay there again because of the friendly staff, good food, excellent location, and large room. I'd probably just request a room with a window view instead.
- 5/5
Great experience
- 5/5
We stayed for 4 nights and I have no complaints! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and spacious. The beds are so comfortable. Breakfast was great. Only wish parking was free. Otherwise, my family had a great stay and would definitely return.

The lady who cooked the omelet was great!

"I'm still fuming about my experience at Embassy Suites Downtown Winston Salem! Not only was my stay subpar, but the management's incompetence knows no bounds. I was charged twice due to the incompetence of one of their employees! Needless to say, I will never be staying at Embassy Suites again. If you value your hard-earned money and your sanity, stay far, far away from this dump.
- 5/5
Every employee I encountered was super nice and extremely helpful.
- 5/5
It was great.
- 1/5
Nothing they took money off my card and haven't put it back on
- 3/5
Room was especially hot though the air was in 66 degrees. Pool had not been inspected for the season. Other than that the stay was nice.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly, breakfast was hot and fresh but my room was dirty spider webs all throughout and inside of the windows bathroom shower head was loose paint was chipping. But the staff was friendly
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
The room including sitting area, bedroom and bathroom were spacious. The evening happy hour was also very nice. The location is great with fantastic dining opportunities within 5 mins walk. The breakfast options were also very good.
- 2/5
Nothing unique about this property. Staff was friendly. This property needs upgrades. There were roaches in our room, kitchen, crawling on the bed, and in the bathroom. We actually saw one near checkout desk.
- 5/5
This was great Hotel stay. Love the free drinks.
- 3/5
I liked the size of the rooms, but they need renovations. They’re dark and depressing.
- 5/5
Parking did not like it.
- 4/5
The fact that there was an old used bar of soap in the shower will make one question cleanliness of hotel room. That was the only visible thing that was noticed, but what about what the naked eye could not see?
- 1/5
The complimentary happy hour was a joke, which how is that even possible? Staff claimed they “ran out of all the upgrade liquors & you would have to pay full price for anything other than the well liquor selections” this was a flat out lie! There were several liquor selections (ex. Markers Mark) that I’ve chosen at others embassy Suites & gladly paid for the upgrade. This seemed like a weird money grab by hotel management. Strike #2 my wife had requested additional towels for the kids and they forced her to “turn in the used ones first, in order to get new ones”. The staff claimed that a large party was taking all the towels and this was the reason for this. Which is a terrible reason to ruin the rest of your guests experience Strike #3 Parking is not free and there are no valet options. Also, Keep your head on a swivel in the public parking lot. I will be requesting a refund from Expedia. Red roof inn vibes. THE WORST EMBASSY IN AMERICA!

The guy that was at check-in assisting the young lady overnight on 4/18/25 was very nice. Also the rooms are always nice and clean every time I come to visit from out of town. The breakfast is excellent the only thing is you feel rush by the breakfast employees. The ladies start breaking down before 10am. I think breakfast should stay open til 11am for the guests that check-in late.
- 3/5
This facilities carpet needs to be cleaned... oder in the carpet and roaches in the 150.00 room.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Room bc spacious and comfortable.
- 3/5
The room was spacious and clean. The front desk and restaurant staff were friendly. The wine selection was atrocious, and evening reception was disappointing. However, breakfast was great. I did request an early checkout in advance, and was told to contact front desk at 8:30 am the follwing day, anbd they would have a definite answer after consulting with housekeeping manager. I called and no one had consulted with anyone and I was just told no the late checkout (I am a honors memebr and thought that might help, but it does not apparently).
- 5/5
Convenient and clean. Helpful staff. Easy parking.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff!!
- 5/5
I liked how the hotel was connected to the convention center and the discretion of the staff in addition to the excellent room cleaning. The only thing that I didn't like was how from the lobby to the 2nd and second floor to the fourth there were stairs in the main lounge area without stair to the third floor, It make more sense to me if there were stairs to the third floor if they already go to the fourth but that is a very minor qualm.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
This place was an excellent place to stay.
- 2/5
Beautiful property but left to go downstairs and room was occupied with housekeeping before we checked out. (Hours early before checkout) Item's we're stolen & never replaced. Talked to front desk said that housekeeping woyld be out soon..they stayed in room for 2 more hours..still not time for checkout. Awful services
- 2/5
Do not stay here. This place is a disorganized mess. Nice people. Good property. But just a mess. Go somewhere else
- 3/5
The pool was closed the second day. TV didn’t work in our room. Room finishings were sub par. Breakfast in the morning was great! Complimentary drinks upon checkin were nice, too.
- 5/5
Great Experience
- 5/5
Great stay. The staff was awesome. The hotel was beautiful and clean
- 5/5
I could walk to expo center.
- 5/5
Pool water was wasn’t clean and it was so cold !
- 2/5
I spent a night there and someone opened my car and stole a lot of things. The hotel says they can't do anything about it and that they've already had reports from other clients that the same thing has happened to them. And that I should call the police. It's a very unsafe place.
- 5/5
A very nice hotel with near by bars. The only con is paid parking but that's to be expected when hotels are downtown.
- 5/5
Great experience breakfast and customer service was on point!!
- 5/5
Front desk staff was amazing
- 3/5
Too many sirens at night. Sheets were not that comfortable and no blankets...
- 5/5
This place is awesome! I've stayed here many times and never had an issue and when things were needed (extra sheets/towels), they were promptly given. If you're sensitive to noise while you sleep, i suggest not getting a room with a street view. The sirens are insanely loud. Doesn't bother me once im asleep, but i know some are sensitive to that kind of thing. Besides, the inside rooms overlook the huge open center area of the hotel, which is kinda cool.
- 2/5
The place for a embassy suites is very ran down and dated
- 5/5
Great space. Additional cups and/or glass instead of foam coffee cups would have been nice as well as better lighting in the bathroom, but overall a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet was top notch! Would totally come back!
- 2/5
I was double charged and I am having a hard time getting in touch with someone at the hotel to talk to personally.
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Staff is super nice. Breakfast is great.
- 2/5
This is my 4th year coming here and was very disappointed! The reception has been shortened and the snacks were very scimpy compared to past years. The kitchen was having problems so could not order any food. Then the heat in the bedroom was not working, so had to move to another room. Still think you could get reimbursed for the $25 parking fee for the price you pay for the room. This may be my last stay here.
- 1/5
This property is right next to the fire station. When the trucks go by at 5 am sirens blaring it is a wake up call for free. I had cockroach in my room. It was crawling on me while i fell asleep. I captured it and showed to the front desk as i was checking out.nothing has been done yet.
- 2/5
I prepaid for the room but my card was charged again at check in. No manager could be located to correct the charge. Front desk didn’t know the manager’s last name for me to call back. No verification of refund given.
- 2/5
Overall, it was good. Rooms were old and outdated but clean enough. Breakfast was subpar. The meat was hidden behind the bar. Found hair in my food. Breakfast is usually my favorite part of staying at Embassy Suites. Hotel definitely needs to be updated asap for the price they charge. Excellent location! Lots of places to eat within walking distance.
- 1/5
this property was partially renovated although not told on front end. No baseboards, holes in walls, dirty carpet...freezing cold in lobby and bar area...told could not turn heat on
- 3/5
This embassy suites is tired and run down. There was mold on our walls and all the baseboards were falling off. We will stay somewhere else next time we are in town.
- 4/5
The hotel was beautiful. I had called ahead and specifically asked if they had pet free rooms and was told it was the upper 2 floors. They put me in a room at the end of a hall on the 3rd floor. I could smell pets on the way to my room, but,the room was good.
- 5/5
Very comfortable room. Great service.
- 3/5
AC couldn’t be shut off
- 2/5
Hotel has a weird smell and the room wasn’t very clean. Blood stain on the pull out couch was an immediate “ get me out of here” feeling.
- 5/5
Beyond thier control is the parking deck information. I wish there was info about this on the Hotels.com site.
- 5/5
ok
- 5/5
I had an amazing stay. I stayed there a couple of years ago, and it was not the best. The hotel and its staff have done a 360. It was an amazing stay with excellent customer service and professionalism by the staff. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
- 2/5
Convenient location but ripped curtains, ac and fridge not working, dirty elevators. Maintenance man was very nice. Tried to fix the air conditioner at 11 o’clock at night.. Dirty outdoor entrances.
- 3/5
I reserved a king suite, and they gave me a double room
- 3/5
Average at best. Needs a lot of deep cleaning and updating. Room was generally clean and staff were very nice. Breakfast area did not look sanitary but staff was so busy that I just don’t think they could keep up with the number of guests.
- 1/5
Only saving grace is that food service staff are so nice. They are very friendly and accommodating when compared to other hotel staff. Breakfast and happy hour (very generous) was appreciated. But that’s not enough. Would never stay here again.
- 3/5
Room was run down, door didn’t shut properly, HUGE gap under the door so no smoke or fire protection, I’ve machine busted.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay in Winston-Salem. The manager’s reception was a nice perk. Good restaurants close by.
- 1/5
Winston Salem is a lovely area. We purchased a suite room due to this giving our family of 5 room. We asked 3 times and went to the front desk to get linens for the pull out bed, they refused to give us any. The breakfast was a joke with wait times of 20 minutes. Such a disappointment of a night in a beautiful area with a terrible stay.
- 3/5
The staff was very helpful. The hotel needs to be updated but was fine foe my short stay.
- 2/5
I’ve stayed in numerous Embassy Suite locations and this was the worst. The carpet in our room was dirty and stained. The pullout bed cover had bloodstains. We removed the stained cover and asked for new sheets which we received. We expected that when cleaning came the next day, the stained cover which was on the floor would be removed. It remained there our entire 3 night stay. The staff was friendly so that was a plus but the hotel is old, elevators were out of order and there is no designated hotel parking so my husband and I who had to drive separately ended up paying $150 ($75pp) in parking. We will not be choosing the Winston location anytime soon.
- 5/5
The staff was very nice and helpful
- 1/5
Terrible
- 2/5
The second floor had a large area with stacked up tables and chairs you had to zig zag through to get to the parking garage where the doors were broken. I really liked the layout of our room but overall the place was lackluster.
- 2/5
It was run down. The shower was broken and did not work. The sofa bed was disgusting and broken as well. I can't believe I paid for this.
- 2/5
The hotel from the outside looked nice and updated but the room was run down and looked bad. The couch cushions had its stuffing showing. We booked a room that was suppose to fit 6 people and there was two queen beds and a pull out sofa. However the pullout sofa didn’t have any linens and when I called the front desk to ask for linens they told me they didn’t have any. I asked them where we were suppose to sleep and they said they didn’t know. The mattress on the pull out bed was stained as well. Super disappointed in my stay.
- 3/5
Only stayed at this hotel because it advertised on-site EV charging. As it turns out, the "on-site" EV charging is in the public lot next door that charges $25 per day. As far as the hotel itself, they spent the renovation budget on the lobby, which is nice, but the rooms are drab, dated with poorly functioning (and loud) A/C. Aside from that, the staff was friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
Didn't have linens in room for sleeper sofa.Phone didn't work to contact house keeping or front desk. No blanket available. No ice. Breakfast no one was keeping food and dishes forks etc refilled. Overall I was surprised and disappointed. I have always enjoyed Embassy Suites.
- 2/5
Hotel needs an upgrade, badly! The room was not up to the Hilton brand standards: stains on the floor, window sill area w cobwebs, and a cockroach crawling on my kids in the night. Skip this hotel.
- 4/5

- 1/5
Everything was horrible
- 1/5
This was honestly the worst, most disappointing hotel I’ve ever stayed it. The hotel is beautiful but the service and people make it horrible! First, check in was 4pm. Got here at 3:45. At 4:35 our room was still not ready! Then the room was not clean. Crumbs fell out of the sleeper sofa. Then we went to the bar to get a drink. Waited 40 minutes. No one came and waited on us. Came to our room and ordered ONE BOTTLE OF WINE. They said it may be a minute. Waited 30 minutes. Still no bottle of wine.
- 3/5
Confusing on where the main entrance is. Garage is short, can’t handle a tall vehicle. Breakfast buffet was disorganized, ran out of food, staff was friendly. Room was accommodating for our family but doesn’t compare to other Embassy’s I’ve stayed. This property is very dated.
- 4/5
The service was great when we checked in and when asked for assistance. We reserved a room with a pull out sofa along with a king bed. You'd assume that with a pull out couch being part of the reservation that the linens for that would be available in the room. They were not and when asked at the front desk, it was very limited. They had sheets and a small blanket. They did not have any pillows or an additional comforter/blanket to use. I'd recommend bringing your own linens if planning on using the pull out sofa.
