Great place
- 4/5
Great stay, club was helpful but items were depleted most days
- 4/5
Rooms were dated.
- 5/5
It was great and it was so close to everything I needed Everything was good
- 5/5
Great hotel in the central downtown. Walking distance to everything and really good valley if you need to park a car.
- 4.5/5
It was close to the convention center I don’t know
- 5/5
Everything was flawless except for barely noticeable stains on the bed sheets but didn’t really bother us very much. That was the only issue we had at all other than that absolutely great stay
- 5/5
Room clean
- 3.5/5
Convenient location to convention center; very supportive staff. First night of three reservation was not what I paid for; put in room with only a (uncomfortable) sofa bed. I was comped breakfast throughout my stay, and moved to the type of room I’d booked for the second and third nights, but that first night was extremely uncomfortable.

Always delivers Everything was good

Rude Member of the banquet staff
- 4/5
It was good stay not great. The bathroom wasn’t spotless at all. The stopper didn’t work properly in the sink
- 5/5
It was nice and the staff was great
- 0.5/5
Nice rooms. Great bathrooms. Close to everything. Upon checkout, we had to carry all of our luggage down 5 and 6 flights of stairs. They told us that they had 4 trolleys for discharge. Elevators were packed. 45 min wait for luggage trolley and never got one.
- 5/5
Room was clean and spacious, staff very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again!
- 4/5
Room was clean, view was nice, bed was a hotel bed as expected. Parking is about $150 for self park for the week, or about 20-25 a night, they offer valet for $30 a night. The garage is pretty secure with police onsite at almost all times and has entrance hall from garage to the 2nd floor. Pretty sure the homeless guy pissed all over the elevator buttons and in the hallway in the parking garage- wouldn’t put that on the hotel but garage sanitation seemed neglected.

Parking
- 4.5/5
Very clean, good location. Needed a Marriott property on way to CHS and this hotel checked all the boxes.
- 4/5
Pipes rattling. The parking situation could have been better.

Staff

Great hotel
- 2/5
Manager was very unhelpful and not understanding.
- 5/5
Everything was great.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 4.5/5
Good location .clean. Pleasant staff. Elevator. Concierge on weekend although not “fully” open, what is provided should be attended to a little more often. Got messy and depleted by the evening.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
The rooms were clean, but the staff were not knowledgeable. I was told there was no stair access to the rooms when only one elevator was working. I paid a high price for the room and with my elderly relatives it was extremely difficult to wait (sold out due to parents weekend) and then attempt to climb multiple flights of stairs. I do expect some reimbursement for the inconvenience.
- 4/5
Clean room convenient location.
- 5/5
Cleans rooms and super friendly helpful staff!
- 4/5
Updated room with comfy bed.
- 3/5
The toilet was clogged but we were given another room.
- 5/5
It is one of the best hotel in Winstom Salem. People are very nice and the best location. The restaurant is also delicious.
- 4/5
Proximity to Benton Convention Center The fragrance of the body wash was offensive. The cost of breakfast was outrageous.
- 1.5/5
Not much There was no pool, no Free Continental Breakfast, no free parking, no microwave, no trash bags for the trash cans, no ice or vending machines, the housekeeping staff was not very friendly, had to go more than once to ask for a blanket and wash cloths
- 5/5
We traveled in town for a wedding and to celebrate our anniversary. The checkin procedure was quick and the staff I worked with were very friendly. Our room was on the top floor with beautiful views of the city!
- 0.5/5
I didn’t get to stay as there was a complication with the booking but after speaking with your staff know one could help? Which left me paying for the stay but booking a different hotel for the night.
- 4/5
Restaurant was Understaffed More help in restaurant for better service of customers
- 5/5
Nice property
- 5/5
Everything There was nothing I did not like about the property.everything was amazing
- 5/5
Kinda old? But it ads to the charm.
- 5/5
It was amazing. The only thing I didn’t like is paying so much to park after paying so much in a room rate. Also, the girl at breakfast was amazing, but yall have to give her help.
- 4/5
Good business hotel
- 5/5
Excellent accommodations and very courteous staff. There is a good restaurant in the hotel which serves an excellent breakfast. The hotel is downtown and within walking distance of sites to visit No comments as I am completely satisfied with the stay at this hotel.
- 4/5
Beautiful location and property.
- 2/5
There was no trash bags for the trash cans no microwave to warm up food the ice machine did not work so was unable to get ice for drinks there were signs for vending machines but when you got to the spot where it says theres vending there is no vending machine at all paid for complimentary breakfast food was great but service was terrible never got checked on nothing got seated order gotten taken and then server disappeared only time we saw her was when she brought our food out then never seen again honestly i wouldnt reccomend staying here considering how expensive it is hotel room is definotely not worth the price there are several hotels way nicer for cheaper id recomend looking elsewhere for a room
- 5/5
Really polite staff - Great customer service
- 5/5
The hotel is great. The area surrounding the hotel gets a little suspect as you walk towards the bars around the corner. Heavy heavy pot smoking scene which is just not my jam.
- 3/5
You can hear everything in the rooms from the hallways. Unfortunately the night we stayed a middle school boys lacrosse team was there and decided to play ball in the hallway late at night. The bed was okay, not very comfortable.
- 2/5
They oversold the rooms and put three adults in a one bed (king) room and brought a roll-away bed up. They basically just put the roll-away right inside the door, so we had to move furniture, set up the bed and make the bed ourselves. Shower did not drain well.
- 3/5
The elevators were broken and we stayed on the 11th floor. We were there for 3 days
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 3/5
I loved how clean and comfortable our room was! The Elevator services all weekend were awful.. We were on the 11th floor and had to take the steps with luggage including our daughter's dance gear.. it made for an even longer experience...
- 3/5
My 7th floor hotel room door and wall were very dirty. The room was okay but walking into it was subpar.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
i do wish the hotel room had come with a microwave.
- 5/5
Great location and safe
- 2/5
- Clogged sink: first maintenance call made it worse, second one fixed it but left dirt and muck everywhere in the bathroom - Broken fridge: fixed, but broke again after 2 hours; lost some food to that one - Missed a room cleaning, called to ask if they could do it; 6 hours later still not done. Call again, they say they got it, go to the bar for an hour, go back up - still not done. Call again, they come up and we give them 30. Go back up and our bed is SOAKING wet. Asked for a dry comforter, maintenance (??) brings us...a sheet. We walked away from this hotel experience extremely experience even after giving them the benefit of the doubt and a huge amount of patience. Needless to say, we will not be staying here again.
- 4/5
Property is clean, staff courteous, professional
- 5/5
Stayed for 2 nights. Excellent location, reasonable overnight parking fee ($30/day). Staff was very friendly , easy check-in /out process. Complimentary water for the room. Fantastic salmon bagel breakfast. Good breakfast menu.
- 2/5
Ice makers were not working on the 14th, 12, 11th floors. The12th floor the covers were off and exposing live wiring. A safety hazard and the machine was not working. I ended up going down to the restaurant. Room 1405 is noisy due to the elevators.
- 5/5
Great place to stay! Great staff! Can’t wait to stay here again!!
- 5/5
Loved the staff and valet service. So many great places to eat within walking distance. Can’t wait to stay here again!!
- 5/5
Very friendly people
- 5/5
Nice room
- 5/5
Friendly staff, prompt service, hotel was beautiful, clean and quiet.
- 5/5
The hotel was nice and staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Awesome
- 2/5
Booked a long room. None available when I checked in. Front desk made no effort to make it right.
- 5/5
Room was so clean. It had all the amenities and some extras I enjoyed like slippers and essential oil to sleep better. The Keurig was also a BIG help with a selection of tea.
- 5/5
We usually stay at a more expensive hotel in town, this one was a block away, just as nice, and less expensive. Will stay here again.
- 1/5
Rooms have paper thin walls- they let dogs bark all night and you can hear the elevator every time it comes to your floor. Suffice it to say, it’s impossible to get good sleep there. Go elsewhere and save yourself the couple hundred dollars on this old hotel
- 5/5
The updated rooms are spacious and comfortable. The halls are a little more outdated but still well-maintained and clean. Valet parking is $28 (with unlimited in/out) or you can easily park in a parking garage across the street for $20/24. I mostly visit on the weekends when there is no free breakfast but there are many coffee shops and bakeries nearby.
- 5/5
Service attendants was very courteous .
- 5/5
I only stayed one night, but it was very comfortable and I enjoyed my stay.
- 3/5
Air conditioning issue in hotel, valet staff was a mess, vehicle was hit by valet
- 5/5
convenience of shopping and dining, all in the downtown area.
- 5/5
Everything else was very clean and quiet. Great stay!! Thank you!!
- 5/5
Valet was excellent
- 2/5
Issue with my door key several times unable to get in my room. I never experience anything this and it was not corrected the first time. That is so unprofessional
- 5/5
Nice place
- 5/5
Excellent property!
- 5/5
The property is very swanky
- 5/5
My stay at the Winston-Salem Marriott is always amazing. Comfortable rooms and pleasant atmosphere.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Loved it here! Clean, comfy bed and good food!
- 5/5
Everything was lovely. I loved the city view from my room. All the staff were kind, professional and hospitable.
- 5/5
Close to Wake Forest!!
- 5/5
We live here and just wanted to stay downtown. Beautiful hotel beautiful view. Great location, no need to drive anywhere, everything in walking distance.
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The only negative was the parking. I paid $43 for 2 nights stay since the only available parking is paid public parking across from the hotel.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff…very welcoming!
- 3/5
Valet and check in was not helpful. No explanation on areas, where things were located. etc.
- 5/5
Great facility. Nice rooms
- 5/5
The valet and staff out front were wonderful! So helpful
- 5/5
Very good location and the hotel is beautiful.
- 5/5
Is a nice place close to downtown a lot of places to go without car
- 5/5
I thought it was great. Great room with a view and it’s within a minutes walking distance to the convention center and some restaurants. The bathroom floor was a bit dirty, but not too bad. Would book again.
- 5/5
I’ve always wanted to stay here and I’m so glad I did. This was the perfect spot for my weekend getaway!
- 4/5
Elevator situation poor. 18 floors with only 3 elevators and no dedicated service elevator for housekeepers, etc. We wait and wait and wait for an elevator, and when it finally comes, it's full of housekeepers carts or people.
- 5/5
I liked how convenient the location is. Around the hotel there are these cute restaurants and bars. The restaurant in the hotel is also very nice.
- 5/5
Great spot downtown within walking distance to the Art District. Very clean room, comfortable bed, and nice hotel.
- 5/5
Clean, modern and in a great location.
- 1/5
The hotel charged my card for the stay even though I paid through Expedia. They still have not returned the money and it has been near impossible to get someone on the phone.
- 4/5
I would of gave it an excellent but the ac went out on the last night and it was very very hot!
- 5/5
Valet parking was a 1st for me. Dining was convenient 😌
- 3/5
I have stayed in much better Marriotts. The staff was excellent though.
- 5/5
Exceptional hotel. Clean and comfortable. One of the best stays I've ever had.
- 5/5
Great experience
- 5/5
The room was comfortable and clean. I paid a great rate for a great room. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Probably one of the best hotel stays I've ever had.
- 5/5
Convenient with good breakfast and lovely view of the city. Staff was very helpful
- 5/5
N/A
- 4/5
The walls are thin so we could hear people talking in the room next to us and then we were apparently too close to the elevator shaft because we constantly could hear the 3 elevators going up and down all night and day
- 4/5
The hotel had awesome staff! The room was clean. The only issue is you have to pay to park off site but there was a sky bridge back to the hotel. They do offer valet for $25
- 5/5
The Winston-Salem Marriot was very clean, and comfortable. The entire staff was wonderful, and Shanice the supervisor was exceptional. Shanice made a our stay great with her entire demeanor. We will be back
- 5/5
Great service. Extremely helpful.
- 5/5
Friendly service. Clean rooms. Easy access to shops and food.
- 5/5
Recommend
- 5/5
Quiet, comfortable beds, good dining options nearby and good restaurant / bar in the lobby. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
I like the ambiance, clean and fresh, wood floor much better, smell fresh and clean
- 3/5
We have stayed at this hotel before and it has been pleasant. A few things this time around that was frustrating for us. We stayed for 3 days the elevators weren’t working and our rooms were on the 14th, 11th, 9th and 8th floors our team had to take the stairs to get up and down on our stay Thursday. Also that evening we requested extra towels for showering and we were told the linens were locked up for the evening and we would have to wait until the morning to request extra linen. The hotel as a whole was very clean, staff was friendly, it was conveniently located to the Benton Convention Center where our conference was being held.
- 4/5
The issue is that did not have enough towels and took over 1 hour after I ordered them to get them. Also No hair conditioner in the shower dispenser which makes me feel that management quality control is not really keeping and eye on the rooms. Parking is not free as it’s only valet or across the street public and nit mentioned in your site. A bit disappointed comparing others hotels in the same price range.
- 1/5
I was put into a room next to the hotel elevator, which was running through the entire night and even early morning. The room has poor sound insulation and I did not get much sleep at all.
- 4/5
Very friendly and courteous staff.
- 5/5
Nicely updated, very well kept up, room was quiet and comfortable
- 4/5
Excellent property!
- 1/5
Room canceled upon arrival. No notice. Stranded. Terrible experience. Expedia customer service by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. Will never use again. Expedia app getting trashed forever. Fool me once.
- 3/5
Check in is at 3:00 pm. Room not available until 5:45 pm.
- 5/5
The hotel was top notch! The front desk was very helpful, fitness center very big and clran, maid services very nice, comfortable beds. The restaurant in the hotel was superb. I could go on and on.....
- 1/5
got overcharge for my stay they did not have the room that pick had to stay in small room
- 3/5
Stay was ok. They only have 1 elevator bank and it has 3 elevators. The hotel is connected to a convention site and in the 4 days I stayed you could not use the elevator…. Including check out day. There were literally 300 people checking out having to carry all of their items down the stairs. I mentioned this to the front desk and he was rude and did not care. His reply was said with an attitude “sorry, we have 300 guest checking out” while looking away from me.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel! Nice walkable area.
- 3/5
Stay was awesome but the extra hundred dollar charge was not
- 4/5
Nice place. Clean, modern.
- 5/5
In the heart of Winston-Salem. Great location! Great restaurant - Butcher & Bull! Would stay here again.
- 4/5
The property was perfect. Everyone was pleasant. The only thing that I did NOT appreciate was that I booked a King size room and got a room with 2 double beds. When calling the desk to let them know of the discrepancy, they said it's a first come, first served, no matter what I booked. They offered to switch me to a king room but quickly let me know I'd be taking it from someone else who requested one. I loved the atmosphere but because of this, I won't return. When I book a room I expect to receive it. It would have been different had there been an emergency situation that prevented a room from being available but they overbooked and didn't have a room for me that I booked months in advance.
- 5/5
Loved the modern build, the slower stall wasn't properly sealed so every time i took a shower it makes on the floor, beds were comfy!
- 4/5
No room service in a downtown property was very disappointing. Rooms were clean and comfortable but very dark with limited lighting.
