    I was travelling with a pet for a one-night stay. I booked through Expedia. The listing stated that the hotel was pet friendly, but did not state that there was an additional $25.00 pet fee per night. I found this out from the clerk who checked me in. I was not happy about that, but I paid it. The grounds were not great for pets. There was not much grassy area for pet bathroom breaks and no bags available to pick up pet waste. The side entrance nearest to my room did not open with the key card, making it not functional. The ice machines were not working on the 2nd and 3rd floor, which left only two ice machines for the entire hotel. There were people in the parking lot smoking marajuana outside of their car in plain sight. The hotel looked nice from the outside. The room was fine. The common areas were not air conditioned. Will not stay here again.

    I was placed on the 6th floor that smelled like lld musty smoke in the room but not in the hallway. I didn't get much sleep because the window unit blasted air into the room and it continually switched off for a minute then on for five minutes, and repeat all night. I don't believe the filters on the unit have been cleaned and sanitized since its original installation ages ago. The intensity of cigarette smoke is more noticeable when it is blowing cool to cold air into the room. It's noisy. I was disappointed with the hot breakfast because they gave us powdered eggs, cheap pork sausage, and the most unhealthy waffle mix and syrup. This is one of the worst La Quinta's I have ever stayed in. Converting an old hotel that allowed smoking into a completely non-smoking hotel only works if you clean the ductwork and replace every absorbing material, fabric, and carpet,

    COCKROACHES!! I’ve stayed at older hotels in the past and understand it’s expensive to upgrade. There is no reason to have BUGS!! I was willing to overlook the old hotel, and the fact that it smelled of marijuana, even though it’s no smoking supposedly. The doors in the room for the bedroom didn’t close properly, the floors were dirty and the staff acted like it wasn’t their problem. My son was supposed to sleep on the sofa sleeper, and there were no linens in the room. Called the front desk to have some brought up and was told to come get them. There were spots of structural damage all over the property that was barely “repaired.” Checked out immediately after being in the room for 20 mins and was told if I wanted a full two day refund, I would need to speak with the manager after 11am the next day. Keep in mind we just drive 7 plus hours to see family in the area. No thank you, I’ll take my one day refund instead of risking losing two days and not getting a callback from the manager. Glad I did as I was never contacted about it! Do yourself a favor, don’t believe the reviews that say it’s ok and good room for the money. No room is worth bringing cockroaches home with you!!

    The only reason I’m not leaving a 5 Star review is due to the fact for several days of my week long stay, I could smell the use of marijuana. I am retired law enforcement and my step-son was lost his life because of marijuana so I do not tolerate it very well. I did NOT report it for the simple fact that house keeping was on the floor several times during the week and if anyone should have reported it, it was them. Cleaning the rooms, walking down the hall, it would have been no question what was going on. I also could not tell exactly what room it was coming from to be honest. I was on the 6th floor near the elevator. It was first thing in the morning, during the day and evening hours. Not every day, but more day’s more than not. I don’t like leaving bad reviews and usually just do not fill them out if it’s a bad review but I do think this needs to be addressed. Wasn’t happy at all and I hope you can understand.

    Elizabeth was on the front desk and when we discussed first floor due to needing a recliner for my spouse she gave us the King instead which had a recliner! No need to cart the chair from the car. And, the Bleu restaurant next door was terrific, 10% off the Bleu bill for staying at LaQ. Breakfast was terrific. Well, there was lots of clutter around the grounds, and two of the entrance doors did not work with our key - so lots of extra steps to find a door which would work.

    Our room was not ready at 3pm as promised, and the desk clerk, when she did check us in, kept trying to check us in as someone else. She felt bad and gave us a late checkout for 1pm on our exit day. We were taken back by the need to collect a $100 security deposit that would be refunded up to 14 days after our departure. There was a sign on the counter informing us that there was NO housekeeping and if we were in need of clean towels, we would need to bring our used towels to the front for exchanging! Sorry - but that is just a bit much for what we paid for the room. The room itself - a king suite - was roomy, The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious although the commode sits so low to the floor that you need to pull yourself up with the help of the sink counter. When we arrived, there was a dinging sound which the room cleaner didn't care to help us find the source. We finally realized that the refrigerator had been left open and was at 68*. The blackout curtains need replaced - the outside light came through like stars - interesting but not helpful. Breakfast was "tired" and the same every day - no variation. Bread was stale. Desk clerk was slow to refill items or to pay attention to anyone. You don't want to know about the roach on the shower curtain WHILE I was in the shower. On the last day, neither key worked and two trips to the desk finally let us back in. Seems they turned it off at 8am even though we had a late checkout. Would not return.

    The building is old and not kept up real well. Our room was nice but the shower rod wasn’t put on right so the curtain kept sliding down on both ends plus the curtain was dragging on the tub so you ere stepping on it all the time. The window curtains wouldn’t stay shut so people could see in. There was no soap dish in the room. The grounds had lots of trash the building had cracks and chips. The staff was friendly the breakfast was ok except the bagels were stale and hard. For the price it was good.

    I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past when traveling to Winston‑Salem, but it had been several years since my last visit. Unfortunately, my stay this past weekend was very disappointing. The service was not friendly, the property was dirty, and the breakfast was poor—to the point that it made me sick for the entire day. The price was far too high for the quality and condition of the hotel. Additionally, the green areas in the back were in very bad shape. Overall, the experience was nothing like what I remembered. I will not be staying here again.

    I don’t usually do reviews but this was enough and I give these reviews because of what I had a reservation for and what I actually got for the weekend was not what was in the confirmation. I was suppose to get a superior room with two queen beds, which were actually two full size beds, a mini refrigerator with a microwave, just a refrigerator, multiple stains that could have been cleaned up on the carpet, sticky surfaces, no pool towels, I asked for some and the associate had a blank stair on their face and said let me see if I could find some, 2 mini size pillows on full size beds which should have been queen size beds, the furniture had like a chopped up appearance to it as well. The reason we did not find another place was we had kids and one was sick and we were tired of traveling and figuring rooms out and wanted our sick child to rest finally from the long road trip. This will be the last time with this hotel chain.

    We arrived 45 minutes after check in a the lady at the front desk was grumpy and was kinda sassy. She said we can’t go to our room because it’s not ready. Finally after waiting for 30 minutes she said we can go now. We get to our room and let’s just say it this way I don’t know why we had to wait because cleaning was not the reason. It was not freshly cleaned. She was just having a bad day and was making customers pay because of her problems.

    This hotel has improved a lot since the last time that I stayed there which was about 2 years ago. The lady that checked me in was super friendly and I loved the online check-in feature. The breakfast was delicious, I was not expecting a lot out of it but it was very good and hot. The hotel itself smelled much cleaner, and the bed was very comfy. The only thing that I had an issue with was that the TV would turn off if I turned off the lights in my room, and I did text them about it but they replied back after I had already gone to bed and since I was only staying one day I did not care that much. I wish there was more lights on the right side of the building, if you're looking at the hotel from the front to the right. And the area where you walk your dog was not well kept, I found lots of trash and there were no dog trash bags.

    The hotel location is convenient and that’s about all I can say good about it. In order to get new towels you have to walk the old towels downstairs, the rooms are not only outdated but the aesthetic is terrible, the a/c makes a weird noise the entire time sounds like a creaking door.

    Spent fifty minutes from time of arrival trying to unlock our door, was given two different rooms and the desk attendant came upstairs finally…. And could only get in with his master key….     The staff was great. The facility leaves a lot to be desired. We stayed 3 days and never once had maid service. What hotel doesn’t do daily room cleaning? Also last night there was a large bug in our room. I went to the bathroom and saw a large bug crawling on the floor in the middle of the night. It scared me pretty good & I had a heck of a time trying to kill it.

    They charged for things that we didn't do. Old stain on sheets that was there when we got there. Towels that we returned for new towels. There was a bag covering fire alarm and tissues stuffed in the bathroom. Elizabeth is the only front desk person that knows what she is doing and is very nice. Julie and the other male front desk clerk were rude.

    The room was not properly cleaned, the sink was clogged, tiles, toilet & baseboard were cracked, i was charged a holding fee once i got there, I didn't see anything that said be prepared to pay a holding/security fee once I arrived. The door looked like it was kicked by swat as the dead bolt didn't lock properly. Over I didn't feel safe as i anticipated.

    the reason for the refund is the fact that the room smelled like weed, the curtains in the room had some weird powdered stains on the curtains , the heater in the room didn't work only hair conditioning and there were brown stains on the sheets.

    While the price was great I didn’t realize that you didn’t get any housekeeping services. I had to empty my own trash, take my towels down to the front desk so they could count them and exchange them for clean ones. I also had to put down a $100 cash damage deposit at check in. I had to stay for 5 nights while moving. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

    Crumbs on the floor. Hair in bathroom. Bathroom floor cracked. No water pressure. Wand did not work in shower. Sink not clean. Closet door sticks really bad. No microwave. Comforter had a brown stain. Heat/air really hard to control to get room comfortable, it was either too hot or too cold— no in between. No bacon for breakfast only sausage patties. Waffles were amazing! African American lady at front desk NOT friendly at all. Everyone else was friendly. Someone would vacuum hallway and bang my door, with a do not disturb sign! I sleep during the day and work at night. Lobby was always freezing cold. Front door broke, stood open.

    The first room we were assigned, there was no heat. So we were given another room. Also the breakfast area was right inside the main lobby doors. One of the doors was not working correctly and was stuck in the open position. Very cold!

    Back door didn't work, side door wouldn't shut right. Toilet was poorly cleaned there was poop still on toilet seat and hair all over the floor. The sink stopper was broken and the sink would fill with water. No good outlet to plug phone charger in on nightstand. Super poor condition of the room. Dark parking lot very poor lighting.

    If I could give a no star, I would. The hotel was not clean. The refrigerator made so much noise they had to unplug it. The AC/heater was so noisy we had to turn up the volume on our TV to hear it. Someone was smoking and the smoke filled the air through the vent in our bathroom. We will never stay there again.

    Quick overnight stay for college tours: Clean, easy check-in. The hotel is pretty dated. It smelled clean, floors clean etc. They do allow pets, which is fine, but unfortunately, Rufus down the hall must have been left alone and wasn't happy. I did ask staff and they were kind enough to check on the dog and offered a new room but we stayed where we were and just turned up the tv and ran fan to drown out the noise. Beds were comfy and staff very kind.

    The property was old and not very clean. The room was never cleaned the whole time we were there. You had to bring down your dirty towels to get new ones yourself.     Our room and bathroom both need painting and there were numerous areas that needed repairs, including in the bathtub and shower area. The owners of this property need to spend some money on a comprehensive maintenance program. I will not stay here again unless nothing else was available in the area.

    2 types of towels in room. Smoking was prevalent right out the door to the outside. There was clearly a no smoking sign right outside the door. A large roach was crawling up the side of the building. The sheets looked like they had been crumbled then put on the bed. Very dirty looking.

    In three days there was no housekeeping. We had to go to the front desk to ask for towels. The hairdryer was inoperative. The outlet/charging receptacle was inoperative.

    I loved that I was able to book during the time frame that I did. I had an issue with another hotel, and it was like heaven going into Laquinta. And I was able to get hot breakfast in the morning. I wanted a nice quite area to relax for my birthday and I got just that at Laquinta's. Thanks so much for this relaxing one-night stay. I will book again and again.

    It was horrible the breakfast was awful the sausage wasn’t fully cooked the waffle mix with pure water basically and nobody could make a waffle because it was more water than anything the office was notified of three underage children under the age of 13 at the pool alone bullying by 3 year old son ! The staff lives there and has kids that are completely out of control running the halls , homeless people came in trying to disrespect guests and jumping line snatching food and the maid ( a man at that ) walked into our room without knocking and I was half way dressed it was the absolute worst experience I can’t make this up smh

    Her checked in and go down for a swim the hot tub is full of what looks like sewage water. Some of the staff live on property and they have teenage kids that are about 9 to 13 that are wild and out of control. We couldn’t even enjoy the pool because their kids had taken over without adult supervision when I brought it to the staff’s attention they blew us off and continue to let the underage children take over the pool area. They, the kids took the handicap chair apart and was smacking each other with metal poles and smacking water splashing people with metal poles. Then, during breakfast the waffle mix was watered down to where you were unable to even make waffles when it was brought to staff’s attention they didn’t fix the situation. The sausage wasn’t cooked. It was an all-around awful experience. I would not recommend-5 stars.

    Well, where do I begin? Hotel had a musty and dirty smell upon arrival. We reserved two double bed rooms. In one of the rooms, the beds looked and felt like the center was sunk in. The second room was the opposite. The beds felt like we were sleeping on the floor. Breakfast consisted watered down imitation eggs, grey sausage patties and bread. Only sugar offered was sweet and low. They did have a waffle machine which was one positive. We stayed 4 nights and our rooms were not cleaned once. Towels were left out and none returned. When I went down to the front desk, he said the laundry was down and was only able to give us two towels for two rooms. It was five of us sharing two towels! There’s more but this what I can think of right now. Oh, there was a wild loud late night argument every night. I found myself thinking whether I should call the police or not. I had low expectations knowing that this was supposed to be a cheap stay but I would think 3 stars would get you something decent. I definitely would not recommend staying here. Your back will thank you.

    I was never informed online, or in person at check in of $100 room hold fee. Apparently they remove it 2-3 days later after they check the room for damage. This is not right. The Hotel should be honest and upfront about this. Another issue is allowing unattended children and dogs running and barking in the hallways even late into the night, 10pm. Without carpet those sounds are now amplified.

    We arrived late in the evening after driving 14 hours and there was no one behind the front desk to check us in. It took 35 minutes of knocking on the office staff door before someone came out. The guy had been sleeping and did not seem to care. During our three day stay not once did someone come in to empty the trash cans or bring clean towels. Very disappointed. Will not stay at that particular location again.

    Drapes dated and liners have holes in them. Tub has liner in it making the bottom curved and narrow. Tub wouldn’t drain forever in between showers. Bed is excellent! Sleep well

    The front desk (indian man) was knocking loudly on the doorway before the checkout time to tell you that you need to be out by 11 AM. He was literally speaking loudly, where I am sure others in their rooms can hear. It is a no-class hotel. Strong dog poop smells outside where you are loading and unloading baggage. Someone had their TV turned up load and you could hear people making out while walking the hallway. Please find another hotel that is much cleaner and classy.

    I will speak on my room experience alone but we arrived at 4am night staff was very helpful and accommodating. Hit the room was dirty and had mold spores in the bathroom and clogged sink, entry door was cracked and had an opening to the point I could see into the hallway. Needless to say I had to remove my family from this room entirely because it was completely unsuitable was outta there by checkout that moring

    We were offered a room on the pet friendly floor of the hotel. We exited the elevator and immediately smelled urine and dog stench. I did not realize until the next morning that the floor in our room had not been swept plus bed sheets and blankets covered with dog hair. Tried to use the lobby bathroom and it was overflowing with feces and toilet paper. Overall just disgusting.

    My wife and Daughter checked in last night.     The hotel was dirty, smelled bad and out dated. I’m not sure what they were pumping in the air, but it smelled awful in the lobby. I was excited to use the pool, but the pool was dirty and looked like it had not be serviced in a while. The patio table was flipped over the first day we arrived and was that way when we left. We were there for 3 days. I would definitely not staff again.

    I never leave reviews, but this hotel right here. Just unacceptable. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Loud Music was allowed to be played til after 3:00 A.M. No front desk could be reached about the situation. Floors smelled like cigarettes and Weed. Rooms were in beat up condition. Could not get sleep. Woke up to beds bugs and jumped up. Had bites on my face, back, neck and upper arm. I literally did not get any sleep here had to stand up until it was daylight because I was scared to sit on anything else after I saw the bed bug. As Soon as it became daylight I cancelled my remaining stay and checked out that hotel. I will be reaching out to the manager today.

    My stay at this hotel was not what I expected especially after paying 246.00 for one night. The room was unappealing bathroom conditions were terrible cracks throughout the wall discoloration of the tub broken cabinets. The carpet in the room had a terrible smell I 100% did not feel comfortable and should be entitled to some type of refund.

    My room was dated. The bathroom had a hole on the tub wall that was patched with a hard plastic sheet and painters tape. The hot/cold plate around the tub faucet was dislodged. The curtain was torn and frayed.

    The front desk staff was very professional and showed a great deal of kindness. When we got to our room; however, we couldn't get into our room because the card would not open/unlock the door. With all of our belongs in tow, we had to go back downstairs for a new key. The front desk staff person, reassured us that our kid was working. When we went up to our room, the door finally opened after multiple attempts. This happened two other times during our brief overnight stay. The morning breakfast was less than acceptable. There were very little options to choose from. The food was a bit cold. There was no coffee available and there was no one around to offer help or even ask for help. The ice machine on our floor was out of service too. Just a very disapointing experience. I will not staying here again.

    The room was clean however the bed was very uncomfortable. Our Air/Heat unit did not work properly. Pieces of the shower/tub were broken. The breakfast was horrible! Processed fake food!! Also, I had to call the front desk at 5:00 a.m. and have them tell some people on the same floor to stop all the noise. They did come but it didn't help. Yelling, loud laughing and clapping could still be heard.

    The manager does their best with what seems to be a limited staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. We used the staircase instead of the elevator a couple times. I marked unsafe because we encountered a person sleeping in the stairwell one morning which indicated that the back door to the hotel was not locked at night. The area around the hotel had a different vibe at night once the surrounding businesses closed for the day.
