My experience was average. The place had a smell that I didn’t find pleasant, and the walls showed several imperfections that could be improved. I understand it’s a budget option, but with a bit more maintenance it could offer a better experience. I stayed out of necessity, although I personally wouldn’t choose it again.

Nothing. We had to wait for the room to be prepared, The lighting turned out to be 2 small LED strips on the wall. There was no refrigerator, closet, or rack to hang clothes. The light switch for the bathroom was OUTSIDE the bathroom, there were open shampoo and soap packets on the counter and toilet, and the shower curtain rod was upside down, so the curtain didn't close. The curtain on the window was torn and did not close all the way and I felt exposed to people passing by the room. As for the beds, there was no top sheet and the bedspread, if you could call it that, was threadbare, wit cigarette burns, stains and, tears in it. In addition, the pillows were plastic and would not stay in the pillowcases which made for a very uncomfortable night. I had to spray almost half of a can if Lysol on all of the surfaces to almost feel safe enough to take off my shoes, and then I still would let my bare feet touch the floor.

Room walls, counter tops, and furniture tops for filthy. Bathroom was molding. Inside of shower curtain was unclean. Room smelled strongly of tobacco. Door lock was flimsy. Tenants were noisy in the parking lot (yelling and fighting) from 6pm to 3 am. Hotel at end of Knoxville airport. So lots of jet noise starting at 3am when Airborne delivery jets depart. Hotel required an additional $50 deposit (still not refunded!). TV sound and image not sync'd. I could do on. Never again!!!!

So that's what I did. Then they charged me for the trip and refused to refund my money. They are crooks. They say they are the Royal Extended stay. It is what is on the building. But the hotel check-in office is for Royal Extended stay, Budget, and USA inn. How can one hotel be 3 hotels in one. Scammy for sure.

Budget Inn Royal Extended Stay USA INN. Every building looked just as the other. Same hotel property. Everyone for each name business in the same lot was to go to the first building for check-in. It made absolutely no sense at all. I drove back around from the last building to the first for check-in. Then, I was told no pets allowed and they wouldn't honor my reservation. And asked for more money if they let a pet stay. Which was not the terms of the agreement. I was livid. Called the # for the booked trip and had trip insurance. Was told on the phone I would be refunded and it takes 72 hours. Today I got an email and was told they wouldn't fully refund the 6 day stay. Scammy for sure.

We reserved a room online and when we got there, we were informed there was a $50 deposit per room, and we still haven't received our deposit refunded back to us. The front desk clerk on first shift and second was so rude, if it wasn't for it being thanksgiving day I would e went somewhere else. But that will be the last time I go there.

Got to property and was told check in was at 3. It wouldn't have been a problem if it would have been any other day besides Thanksgiving and nothing was open. Was also surprised with a $50 deposit at check in even though there was nothing saying this in the reservation. My husband who recently lost his id was not allowed to stay with me because of property rules of all adults needing an ID to stay. Beds were hard. Found a roach crawling on my drink. The price was reasonable but I will not stay somewhere that I can't have my husband especially when I'm 4 months pregnant.

Property was run down upon arrival when we entered room there was dead roaches on the floor and in the tub sheets were stained walls were stained ceiling had mold and water damage it was so bad we walked to the front desk to ask if they would clean it or something was told they jad no one to clean it or anyway to provide clean linings we just handed in our room keys and left drove 18 miles and found a nicer hotel

I didnt like that someone went into my room when i was gone and left the door open. I also didn't like that there were roaches, stained sheets, cigarette burns in the blanket, and i had to put the fu**ing chair in front of the door when i slept to feel even fractionally safe. Also ; The AC didnt really work. 2 out of 10 stars. Wont be staying there again.

This is the absolute worst Place I ever stayed. The only reason we stayed the first night was because there was no refund policy. Second night cost a whole lot more money but we stayed at a good chain. Lost our money

checked in approximately at 5:30 Friday afternoon June 14th 2024 got a room key the employee at the counter a female gave us a room key had to ride on a sticky note with the room number was approximately 11:00 Friday night our room door opens with somebody standing there cuz they got the same room as we did once we went to the office the lady said oh I did not realize there was anybody in that room that was a big mistake for them to do and then we went to check out it approximately 3:30 this morning Saturday June 15th 2024 the same employee was working and she informed us that it was a computer glitch so she contradict her story from just this earlier a few hours before that I had found two live cockroaches crawling on the floor one dead there was one left in the room underneath of a cup so they would be able to see it did not get no apology for anything still have not got my deposit back on the room there was smeared dried blood at the check-in desk right by the sign machine that you have customers sign the faucet you go to turn the water on in about come off underneath of the the cabinet toilet did not flush unless you stood there for a good minute holding the handle down the swimming pool had children's floaties swimming in what look like a river moat it was completely green algae field pretty nasty so I would appreciate if I would get someone to return my phone call at the earliest convenient at 423 973-3702 I'm requesting a full refund of the purchase that I had made an

Given dirty room at check in then assigned a double room without confirmation. Only one towel, no toilet paper

First of all when I was checking in they said that there would be an additional $50 refundable charge for the room. When we opened the door the room stunk. The beds were hard. There was poor water pressure, didn't think that the toilet was going to flush. The next morning there were roaches crawling on the wall by the sink. We could not get out of there fast enough. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

I have stayed in some cheap hotels, but I have never stayed in one with such disrepair, safety concerns, health concerns, and overall misguidance online. Between filthy rooms, no sheets, trash on the floors, burns and stains on the furniture and floors, mold, nonfunctional chain door locks, non-working exhaust fans, holes in walls, gaps in the exterior door to see outside from in. Health department needs to shut this facility down right away due to the water damage and mold and overall disrepair.

Even with all that I had been through and just wanting a nights sleep, I left after being there for less than 15 minutes. Wall were cracking, there was what looked like vomit splatted across the bathroom wall, dirt everywhere, gross mattress and the worst part was the roaches! Crawling across nightstands and floors. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!

No remote in room and went to front desk to make them aware. Front desk stated they would let the maintenance man know and he would bring the remote, which he never did. The front window of the room was totally cracked in many places and then taped together, not a lot of security. The shower knob fell off in my hand into the tub when I turned the shower water on. I also saw a large bug/beetle crawling on the toilet. Way to many significant issues with this hotel and their rooms.

I booked a room For my 76 yo mother at the Royal Hotel in Alcoa TN. The 1st room was filthy and had no light bulbs. They gave us a second room and it was just as bad with actual feces on the toilet. I went to the manager and asked for a refund he said yes just call where you booked through and we will issue. Upon 3 attempts without refund i was not offered any type of compensation or credit from either the hotel or expedia for allowing a motel like that to be booked through their site.

Cheap as it gets. Nasty and as dirty as it gets. Dont leave anything behind in the rooms cause it WILL get stolen by house cleaning. Found evidence of bed bugs. You're honestly better off parking in the lot and sleeping in your car. Which i saw someone do that same night lol.

Cockroaches. There are no desk lamps, because I suppose customers steal things. The cigarette fumes permeate everything. It's not a place to stay, it's a miserable jail.

Unable to accept my paper id for my s.o. refusing us to check in and denying a refund. Never got to stay but if their customer service is this bad i cant imagine the room being any better.that money was all i had and was forced to sleep in a car with my kid since i couldnt get a refund or a room in a different hotel. This falls on expedia as well but they asked the hotel to refund me and they denied it. Wont ever use these services again, neither of them.

The king size bed was to die for! So very comfy. Not a nationally known motel. Yes, frig/microwave but no coffee maker nor hair dryer. Two installed lights with inconvenient on/off buttons. No lamps at bedside.. Local telephone on nightstand with no cord. Floors could use a good scrubbing. One side chair in the king room. Staff was pleasant once he was encouraged. Did enjoy the convenience to our destination, the quiet area (except for the airplanes landing but that was considered knowing it is located near the airport. Price was right and the conveniences are offered in accordance with the price. Want a clean confortable bed for the night? This is it for sure. Cable TV helps a whole lot as well.

It was hands down one of the worse hotels ive booked for my employees. The check in lady was rude and aggressive. The first room had mold and the ac was broke. The second room had threadbare stained bedclothes. Mold again present. Ac worked barely. Youd b better off just sleeping in your car if this was your only choice

Outside of hotel is ok, receptionist was ok. Otherwise this hotel was disgusting, there was no hot water, the fridge/microwave had hair/bugs/food liquid and crumbs everywhere. The sheets, and blankets had hair, bugs and holes. The shower floor was grimey and covered in an orange film. I felt unsafe, and I could not even sleep in the hotel because of how disgusting it was.

Cockroaches! So dirty my socks immediately became black on the bottom in the few minutes I was there. Disgusting! The staff was horrible. Refused to stay The staff violated accepting my ADA-trained service dog as they wanted me to pay for him. Kept calling him a pet. They refused to return my money for the 2 days I originally paid for but then left right away. I have pictures of the cockroaches I threw in the toilet that I grabbed with tissue, and they still denied it! Never go here!

We booked the room for a week had to leave early for an emergency. They told us if we checked out by 11 the next morning they would refund us the rest of our nights. We check out the next morning and found out the next day that we would not receive are refund and they refused to check us out the rest of our nights they basically got free money out of the entire situation. I checked in and got to my room to find the door open bedding in the floor matresses tv and all other items stolen. I felt unsafe as soon as i arrived. The room had an awful smell when we walked in. There was hair on and in the tub and toilet. The beds were not fitted with the proper linen. You get what you pay for. I just needed a place to sleep since I had to be back at work so early. At the rate I paid, I would probably stay again if I had to.

Place was terrible, got kicked out at 2am for asking for more towels, cause the bath clogged.. Reserved place for 2 guests, and they said I didn’t register my wife… horrible!!!

Killed two cockroaches and several spiders shortly after entering the room, also noticed what could have been bed bugs. No amenities to speak of, curtain over the window facing the sidewalk and courtyard was too small and full of holes. It was a 'non-smoking' room, but smelled like cigarette smoke.

I booked a room for 3 nights for a homeless veteran on Veteran's Day through Expedia minutes before we drove to the property to check him in. At arrival, was informed he was ineligible to stay because he didn't have his state ID available. Was informed that the hotel would contact Expedia to issue a refund, but when I followed up with Expedia, they were unable to contact the hotel to verify.

There was not a trashcan in the room. There were crumbs in the bed and there were bugs on the floor.

We arrived and our room still had trash in it as well as dirty sheets. When we go to the front desk to ask them to clean it the lady was super annoyed. Later we came back and it was clean but I refused to sleep on the sheets because they were so stained. We also saw a drug deal go on outside. I highly Recommend everyone to avoid this “hotel”

matter of fact we didn't even stay the second night. We left early because we couldn't stay there any longer. The hotel all around did not feel safe. Our room reeked of pot and cigarettes. We slept on top of the blankets because they were nasty, stains all over them and had cigarette burns. We tried to find somewhere else to stay as soon as we got to our room but there wasn't anything available. We were there for a wedding so we made do the first night by going to the store, buying blankets and candles to make it somewhat better. Mind you we had our 2 kids with us as well. We honestly thought about sleeping in our car but that didn't feel safe either. At the wedding we got to talking about our horrible experience and the owner of the wedding venue said she knew of the place and told us we weren't safe there and couldn't even believe it was on Expedia. We told her we didn't feel safe at all and planned on just driving 4 hours back home after the wedding because we couldn't stay one more night even though it was already paid for. This was my first time booking with Expedia and I promise I will not use it anymore. Very disappointed.

I felt unsafe the moment I drove up. The glass windows were cracked in the lobby. The towels in the room were dirty/stained, the sheets had stains, there was no soap in the bathroom or the shower, the room was filled with roaches (more appeared later in the night), the pillow cases had holes in them, the curtain did not cover the window (exposing the room to sidewalk/courtyard). Overall, this was a horrendous experience and I did not feel safe or sanitary staying in this place. I ended up leaving around 5am, as I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the premises and did not feel safe here.

Worst room ever. Roaches & cigarette stank. Barricaded door with extra furniture and kept the .45 loaded and ready. Tub was dirtier than some abounded houses I’ve seen. Door barely locked. Pretty much a great place if you are filming a horror movie. Pretty sure there was already blood on the floor. No lamps. No garbage cans. No lights. Weird as can be. I barely slept and believe me - I sleep anywhere. Random car alarms at all hours. Loud noises. Was pretty sure I was going go end up on the news just by staying there! Definitely not on my list to return to. Ever. Unless someone takes me there to kill me.

First of all the rooms look nothing like the photos. They were dirty, roach filled, smelling of smoke and mold. We asked for handicapped accessible bathroom and did not get one. I don't believe that they have any. We had to chase down housekeeping in order to get towels that we asked for the previous day. The entire time of our stay NO ONE came to clean, empty the trash or refresh the towels. A pest control man came in and gave three little sprays for the huge cockroaches. The beds were hard roll aways that didn't have sheets that fit the beds and were dirty. We did not sit on the couch because it was filthy. There was mold in the bathroom and the ceiling was falling down in pieces. We were supposed to check in at 3 pm but was told the room was not ready. Didn't get into room until almost 5 pm. When we tried to check in at 3 there was no one at the desk. We had to call someone to come check us in. Even though it was a non-smoking motel I continually smelled smoke and not just from cigarettes. We took a video of The Moldy bathroom and a photo of the filthy couch. This place should be condemned. We will not be staying there again. By the way it is know by three different names on the site. Royal extended stay Alcoa, Budget inn Alcoa and Royal stay Alcoa.

Terrible at reception. The room number was missing on the door , I had to guess what number it could between two rooms, I coud by mistake be trying to knock someone else room. After I finally got into the room, I checked the bathroom , there was a big bug around the shower with dirty towels hanging where the clean one were supposed to be . Beds in terrible condition. Again I can't believe there be such place without soap. I tried to call for service asking about the soap, no way. I went to ask the receptionist about that, she said there is no soap , they no soap. Terrible place, no hygiene, no respect, I don't even know how to describe the place. Because of all that, I could not stay for even two minutes after I checked in the room, from check in to check out the whole thing lasted less than ten minutes! The place must be reported to healthcare authorities, it is a source of all types of diseases, this place must be closed!!! very disgusting!!!

Terrible place. Stayed there one night. Sheets were dirty and not changed. Hair on the floor. No tissues. Old broken TV. Dirty rugs. Disgusting. Doesn't look like the pictures shown here.Totally misleading.

It was a great value but jets flying over top of the hotel every hour is not okay for me. The TV was set up on a Dish cable box that cut off about midnight and never resumed before I checked out because someone never woke it back up. All local stations were scrambled even when it was working. If you need just a place to rest your head, a deep sleeper, you're good. Otherwise I would look elsewhere.

From the time we got there the customer service was very rude. I booked ahead of time and ask for a room in front away from the back and when we got there we didn’t get it and when I ask about it the man working desk yelled at me. We got our room it was dirty and light switch didn’t work, outlet was messed up and microwave didn’t work. Went and told the people and they got smart and hateful and raised voice at us. They were drugs all over the place and they were also having a big orgey party in the office it was terrible will never stay there again.

We had been on our sailboat most of the day and returned to the marina to dock our boat. Bad weather stared moving in and we needed to stay in the area overnight. I found this motel online within 4miles of our location. Booked too and arrived to my surprise the room was newly renovated. Nicely furnished, comfortable bed and the a/c worked very well. Very pleasant stay.
