Do not take your personal property into the rooms! I left all of our items in my car. If there had been any other options for the night I needed I would have canceled my reservation. As soon as my son and I entered the room I immediately killed the cockroach in the bathroom. The bedding was clean but the ick factor was at an all time high. If I could have made the drive back home and not made it home at 6am I would have. Absolutely disgusting.

I registered through Expedia and they had no record of it.

Bedding was not clean. Cob webs from the ceiling. . No cup to get some water.
- 1/5
The first “non smoking” room smelled heavily of smoke. Sheet had stains, pillow case had stains. Room did not have lights per se. There were LED light strips everywhere. Stark white and super bright. I went to the office and asked for another room. Got attitude from the clerk, but got a different room. This one smelled as well. When I went back and reported it, the clerk argued with me about what I was smelling. I cancelled my reservation and went to another hotel. I could not sleep there and had no desire to have that smell infuse my clothes. It was THAT bad. Avoid at all costs!
- 1/5
We had dirty bloody sheets, cigarette holes in our blankets in a “nonsmoking” room, and a ceiling leak. They added a 50 dollar deposit at check in. Wouldn’t matter initially, however the room conditions were so bad we almost slept in our car. Laid towels down and our blankets and made a nap work before showering and checking out at sunrise.

The hotel is the USA, Royal, and Budget hotel in alcoa. They are all listed separately, but are the same hotel. The place wasn't clean. It didn't have a microwave. If your there to go to the airport, it would be ok. Very loud with planes flying right over the hotel.
- 2/5
I just needed a room for one night (~10 hours) and I found out his is the kind of place you stay at when you cannot afford a more expensive hotel...I learned my lesson. Maybe some of the other rooms are nicer (?). No light over the main living space or even a bedside lamp-just a strip light over the sink at the far end of the room. Also, not carpeted (tile), so the picture on their site is not how my room was set up. To their credit the bathroom was clean, and it appeared the bathroom and sink area were recently upgraded, and the AC worked.
- 1/5
There was a cockroach in the room
- 1/5
Not happy with the whole outfit
- 1/5
only one worker was very nice, the overnight worker was EXTREMELY rude. they also shut off my access to hotel before my check out time and almost had to sleep in my car. there were roaches (dead and alive) all around hotel.

Expedia should not be booking this hotel. They are remodeling. Only had a bed, tv, and 1 set of towels. No microwave, no remote, no fridge, no iron/Ironing boatd, no blankets. Only had a dirty bedspread. No lamps either. I paid for two nights that was not refundable and only stayed one night. It was horrible. It was loud from the remodeling that was being done. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

Holes in the wall, paint peeling, dried up spills on the floor.
- 1/5
The worst beds I have ever sleep on. The lady at the front desk was rude and mean and hateful every time I seen her or asked a question
- 1/5
The room literally looks like a prison cell, smells like a dumpster, customer service was basically both of those things combined like a prison warden with a horrible attitude. There was literal pubic, hair and human hairs in our bedsheets and blankets dirt on the floor. The room smells like it’s never been cleaned and when I went to the front desk to simply and politely I, my dad asked for clean blankets and sheets. She would’ve thought I asked her to literally build me a house in the middle of the night, the owners name is Pete and I will do whatever it takes to contact him. We did not even stay the night. We were there 20 minutes and left.
- 1/5
The room was dirty. The beds were disgusting. Looked like they hadnt been cleaned in a while. Crumbs, dirt, stains, and who knows what else on the beds and pillows! Called front deak for a clean room amd was told they could not spare another room. They said we could leave and and they would issue a refund. Have not heard anything about a refund, after a week!
- 1/5
The room was nasty. A non-smoking room has a cigarette wrapper on the floor when we walked in. The shower leaks badly and the tub looked like it had not not been cleaned. The bed did not have a bed sheet on it. It just had a sheet and the comforter had many burnt holes in it.
- 2/5
looked like someone forgot to clean the bathroom..bedsheets had holes in them
- 1/5
Do not stay at this place. They have bed bugs. Roaches on the walls. Ripped and torn bedding. Smoking in every room. No towels. No trash cans. Absolutely filthy and it should be condemned. Worst place I have ever stayed in in my entire life.

When I first got there the receptionist couldn't even find my reservation. Was rude and unhelpful. Once the representive from the Hotels.com app resent the confirmation, the woman finally started to give me the motel key. When she told me that my room wasn't on the bottom floor after I had requested an accessible room, she told me that it was the only room left. After I told her that I had trouble with going up stairs since they didn't have an elevator, she then said there was a room on the bottom floor. When I got in the room it smelled horrible, there was hair all over the beds, the sheets were yellow like from urine and the last straw was the coakroaches. I simply left, had my son turn the key back in while the woman was telling him that she would put us in another room. I had enough lies and had seen enough. We left and found another motel with better conditions and helpful people. I was to upset to even think about taking pictures, wish that I had. First ever bad motel that I have gotten through this app, all the others that I have stayed in have been good.

Stains on bedding. Bug's in bathroom. Peeling paint. Room not clean from prior occupant
- 2/5
Poor service and the condition of the room was pathetic
- 1/5
I could not stay in the room that was provided. There were people hanging around the parking lot and breezeways as we were about to carry the bags inside. The floor in The room was ceramic tile and I spotted live bugs in the tub. The guy at the front desk was very short with me when we arrived to check out the room and didn't ask any questions when I informed him couldn't stay in that room.
- 1/5
They had roaches in the room and gave us no towels or toliet paper
- 1/5
Room was not cleaned well. Water leaking from tub faucet. Unable to get any pressure from showerhead. Comforter was falling apart. Was first given a room that was already occupied, then switched to room with all the problems. If it had been refundable we would have left.
- 1/5
Even though we had prepaid, we left and stayed elsewhere.
- 3/5
Adequate for $45 clean everything worked comfortable bed and The sex was great and that makes up for anything negative

They stole my money. I DIDN'T mean to book a room there. I was looking for hotel closer to where I was gonna be for the weekend. Website booked a reservation without me having to confirm my card. When I rode there to see how about getting my money back I was told that there was a non refundable policy. I called hotel.com and I was told that if I got someones name and job title I would be able to get a refund through them, the lady at the desk WOULD NOT give me her name!!!! So I had to call my bank and do a fraud claim against them and the transaction. I asked the lady there would she stay there and she didn't have an answer for me SMH. Hotels.com NEEDS TO TAKE THEM OFF their platform!!!! That place is DISGUSTING!!!!
- 1/5
better than sleeping in the car, a little
- 1/5
This was so bad we didn’t stay after walking in looked like the kids in parking lot blasting music not a safe place to be so we left
- 1/5
I asked for a wake up call. There was not a phone in the room, there were no garbage cans in either room (we rented 2) and there were 3 dead roaches on the floor and one giant one twitching on its back. We left and found a different place to stay. You could tell they are trying to clean the place up by replacing all the flooring with nice tile BUT there are just some things you can not over look.
- 1/5
I actually canceled my stay as the hotel rooms were not clean even after changing room I found the bed sheets stained. Plus the room they gave me the second time. Apparently the light has to be connected to the wall to get it working so in the dark you have to find the connections not only that but stained bedsheets there as well could not take a picture as ofcourse the lights were t switching on. Only good thing was the lady at the front desk she was trying to be accommodating and nice but I just couldn't sleep in their rooms after I saw the beds felt as if the bed might have bugs there were black small stuff on the bed and so on. Also out side was very dirty pictures shows the mess. Oh the cherry on top stained pillow. I am still feeling sick from the visit

only good thing is the proximity to airport
- 1/5
1. Shower head broken; 2. Cockroaches everywhere; 3. Magnetic card for the door nor working; 4. Limited hand towels, some very filthy, some made with part shower towel.
- 1/5
It was horrible. They had bugs. The water didn’t work. We only stayed one night and checked out and still had to pay the whole amount. I will not use hotels.com again! They ripped me off and now I can’t get my money back! It was the nastiest place Iv ever stayed! The staff was very rude and didn’t care that we had issues!
- 1/5
Slum house for locals, pulled up, didn't even get off our bikes. No way i would stay there. Paid for the night thru hotels.com before arrival but went 20 miles down the road and paid for something else to find a safe place to sleep.
- 1/5
First review because it needs to be said—this is the ONLY place I’ve ever stayed where I considered walking away as soon as I opened the door. Terrible smoke odor, stained towels, had to make the bed myself. Not worth it. I almost slept in the car.
- 1/5
Might be better to sleep in your car. Not worth what we paid!!!
- 1/5
It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. When I arrive there is a phone said to call this number. So after calling and waiting over 10 min for someone to come. There was music so loud coming from the room he came out of. No way to figure out how the lights to turn on. Had to use my cell phone light to figure it out. I slept with my gun in bed with me. At 2am the police knocked on the door next to me. I would never recommend a place like this ever. Worst hotel ever.
- 1/5
The room I was given was flooded and nasty and had bugs. The next room I was offered had bugs and the bedding and mattress had holes in it. The entire room was filthy.
- 1/5
Was so unhappy with the 10 min stay, because thats how long it took us due to the roaches that infested the room. They gave us another room key and it was the same, roaches everywhere on the walls in the bathrooms . No tefund on the money at all.
- 2/5
Run down, shower didn’t work, cigarette holes in the bed spread and mattresses. Non smoking rooms smelled of smoke, bad! Won’t be staying here again
- 1/5
I called the hotel two days later and talked to the manager about the situation. She was extremely rude and unprofessional in her way of saying there would be no refund, simply hanging up after telling me. Calling a second time, before hanging up on me again, the manager yelled through the phone, "I already told you...We don't do refunds here!" I will be calling the health department of Knoxville on this matter and posting this experience on every possible associated website with the Royal Inn Hotel in hopes that no one falls victim to this foul hotel.

Overall dirty, noisy, filthy, bug invested hotel.

Thankful I pack cleaner and pillows

My husband and I was going on a small vacation. We chose that hotel cause yes it was cheap and the pictures we saw did not look bad. Well when we got there the room had roaches and bed bugs. When my husband went to turn the key back in because we were leaving early, the guy at the front desk said he wasn’t aware of the roaches or bed bugs. If that’s the truth, why was there roach poison on a house keeping staffs cart?? They wouldn’t give us a refund so we wasted money and had to come back home. I mean I’ve been in some cheap hotels, but all of the other ones were always clean and no roaches or bed bugs!!! I have never had such a bad experience!!! Will not ever be back!!!!!!!
- 1/5
They had bed bugs and roaches and my husband and I had bites all over us. I'd like a refund.
- 1/5
Roaches, lots of them. The staff is just horrible to the guests, just very rude. Spend their time talking on the phone, will make you wait forever and then talk to you like a dog. It's so not worth staying here. It is soul sucking to stay here, honestly you are better off sleeping in your car. They lie to you about fees and the actual rate, it's all just a giant nightmare. If you do stay here leave all of your stuff in the car, otherwise you might end up with bed bugs in your clothes. Dead roaches all over the floor to my room when I got there ... they living relatives soon come out to greet you once you've settled in. But you'll never be settled in because your skin crawls the entire time you're there. I've stayed in a lot of cheap and 2 star motels/hotels. This one is by far the nastiest of them all. Even my 'clean' towels were grey and looked like they hadn't been washed in weeks. Just a nasty place
- 5/5
Just here in town to do a 3 month job . Resetting walmart.
- 1/5
Please do not get tempted in checking at this hotel, I understand its like the cheapest hotel around knoxville. The staff are literally drug addicts that will scam tenets and try to frame you. Literally will call the cops to try and succeed in getting a trespassing order on you. There is a huge scam where they get trespassing orders on the renters. After the renter gets a chance to come back and try to retrieve their vehicle they will try to extort money from you by claiming damages where done on property. The area is very sketchy and the cops are pretty corrupt around alcoa. If you are around the area make sure you are squeaky clean to the point where they do not catch you jaywalking.
- 1/5
Absolutely disgusting! And potential scam. Notice on office wall says you’ll be charged $50 for missing smoke detector! And no refunds! I booked two nights and would not stay in that room. I abandoned it and lost all of my money. Charge 5% fee extra to book through Hotels.com, ends up actually being $20 per night more, not 5%. Roaches, filthy furniture, curtain doesn’t completely cover the window, broken toilet. Sagging filthy bed. No bedside lights, the marketing photos aren’t even close to the true horror. Ancient TV, not the advertised flat screen. And cheap hookers partying next door, could hear every disgusting word. I’ve never been in a worse room and was totally ripped off. Oh, it’s 500 feet under the airport flight path. Check our the horror photos and I have more. Do not stay here. Better to sleep in your car at the airport than this horrible place.
- 2/5
The place is under remodel. Its DIRECTLY under the flight path. The sheets are stained towels stained the light in the bathroom didnt work. The matress must have been 10-15 years old...it was so saggy. And the woman working the front desk was rude.
