Holiday Inn Bloomington-Airport by IHG

We came here late Thursday evening after severe storms in our area left us without electricity and water. We woke up early Friday to a room literally swarming with ants and packed up as quickly as possible, all while brushing ants off of ourselves. There was no management on site and no one willing or able to do ANYTHING other than take my name and number saying that management would contact me. They haven't. I have called multiple times only to get the run around and was even hung up on. AVOID at all costs.

We waited at the airport for over an hour, called the hotel twice, and eventually gave up and paid for an Uber. When we arrived, the lobby was packed with stranded travelers. Only two employees were working: the front desk clerk and the shuttle driver. Check-in moved very slowly because there was only one machine available to program room keys. To make matters worse, several guests were given keys that did not work or were assigned to the wrong rooms, forcing them to return to the crowded lobby and start over. The next morning, I realized I had left an item in my room. When I went to the front desk for assistance, two employees told me I would have to wait until the front desk agent returned because she was driving the shuttle. When I asked whether either of them could help, I was told "no" in a rude manner. I understand that a flight cancellation can create unexpected challenges and that the hotel may have received a sudden influx of guests. However, management knew the night before that many stranded travelers would need transportation and assistance the next morning. It seems reasonable that additional staff could have been called in for a few hours, or that available employees could have been used more effectively to support guests.

Lower than expected

I picked those hotel due to the proximity to the airport and the advertised 24/7 shuttle. Early morning shuttle drop went great. When I returned on a Sunday around 10:45 am the hotel was unable to send someone then for a pickup. First I was told allow 30 minutes. That passed and then I called and was given the run around that shuttle go was out at another location. If that is an airport shuttle, it should be staffed and available for flight returns. 40 minutes passed as I sat with my kids outside with our luggage. I had to pay an uber from across the busy street and intersection I was not comfortable walking to get a ride to my car. Seemed to me they had no one available to do the shuttle service.

Excellent breakfast with a large variety to choose from. Great location to the airport and restaurants. We're glad we chose it.

My toilet hand was broken, but replaced on a reasonable time. The staff was not at desk much, the breakfast was not really what I expected.

Friday night the hotel lost all power for about 3 and a half hours. Not the properties fault but offered nothing in the way of a discount on that room night. The inconvenience is unacceptable.

I picked this hotel because they offered a free breakfast. When I went to get the breakfast I was stopped by staff who asked what room I was staying in. I provided my room number and i was told that my room did not come with a free breakfast. I don't appreciate the bait and switch so I will never stay at an IHG property in the future.

Convenience to restaurants and my job. We needed to stay and extra night, the price jumped to 343 vs the 107 ish we were paying, didn't offer a lower rate since we had been staying there 4 days already due to our furnace going out at our home. We ended up finding another hotel for one more night.

The bed was terrible

Southwest friendly hotel seemed clean I did not get the rooms I booked. We booked two rooms with two queen size beds in each room and instead we got a one bedroom for each room and then one had a pull-out sofa. Maybe this is not the hotel's fault. Maybe this is The fault of booking.com but our rooms also were nowhere near each other which I had asked for.

Expedia neglected to state on their app that this hotels pool and hot tub were under renovation and the whole purpose of us staying at the hotel was for a birthday party to swim

The elevator broke down sometime during the night. Instead of getting it fixed, I was directed to take the stairs which only emptied into the BACK parking lot totally away from my care.

The room was fine, and the staff were great, but they had a party with thundering music until very late. It was reverberating up the walls in our room. I called the front desk and was told that it would be over at 11PM, but it was still raging at 11:30PM.

Room was old and does meet the standards. its too low maintanance for the price charged.

The front desk wasn’t really staffed. The shower creaked like it was going to fall through the floor. I asked for a late checkout and still had cleaning come to my door. Not worth $200+ a night.

Website says there would be a voucher for breakfast, they wanted to charge $15.99 per person. Previous stays it was free! Website says free hotel shuttle within 5 miles 24 hours. We were told they could only take us across the street to the airport.

It was a big room and a nice location The person who was supposed to be at the front desk wasn’t there and took 10 min before coming for check in, he was rude and acted like he did not care to be there. There were ants coming up thru the sink and there was no one at the the fri t desk to tell I even tried to call the front desk it rang for 5 min straight, I paid over 400$ and was really hoping for a better stay

The beds were not comfortable and the room felt damp, especially the bedding. We did not sleep well at all and we were there for 2 nights. The floor was sticky and felt no clean to walk on barefoot.

The property was decent, staff were friendly but for the price, no breakfast was included but could be purchased for $15.99, outrageous for what was offered and the worst of all the bed was terribly uncomfortable. Bloomington IL isn’t a vacation hot spot so the prices just seemed a bit out of place.

It was clean and nicely decorated. It needed more than 1 elevator and more handicapped spaces as they were all full.

This is a nice hotel, but the gym was closed and we work out daily. Also, we booked this hotel specifically for the hot tub. We were unable to use as it was not heating up properly, and guests had their children/babies in the hot tub with no clothing or swim diapers on. That is unacceptable and not hygienic. For $300 a night, it was not worth it.

The location was great Paid almost $500 for 2 nights and breakfast was not included. They wanted to charge $16/person for what is basically a continental breakfast. The night staff was extremely rude and unhelpful, we had to beg for towels, and our room was freezing even with changing the temperature. When we requested an extra blanket we were denied. The beds we very uncomfortable and the bathroom very small. Will never stay here again, not worth the money.

Flight changed from Bloomington to Chicago. Wasn’t able to get to check in on time. Facility wouldn’t let us cancel. Slept in the parking lot because it was past check in and they refused to cancel or refund. Super unhelpful Staff and customer service

Direcly across from the airport, was extremely reasonable in price and near restaurants . Definitely cming back.

The staff was friendly at first for checkin, we get to our suite and within hour i move the ottomon to make room amd there was a cashew on floor. I looked in between couch and chair and there was more cumbled chips and nuts. Normally i brush it off but when my son jas peanut, milk and egg allerfy its very concerning. I went to wash hos hands in bathroom amd of cours ethey were out of handsoap. At that point i let front desk know and she didnt seem to care at all, just gave me travel hand soap, and said the house keeping must have just not got all of it. The next morning we took kids swimming at 10am, they had pool full of people and no towels to give anyone at all. By 9am the breakfast was almost all gone, when you pay $16 and it ends at 930, you would think they put more out or something. Wont be staying here again very disappointed.

I booked this hotel last minute due to the other hotel we were staying at and the issues we had within an hour. They were extremely accommodating, pool was clean and not overly chlorinated. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was very kind and helpful with anything we needed.

We enjoyed our stay. Only two minor things. We needed to ask for more towels. We checking out the carts were all gone, we were on the third floor.

Room was great. The gentleman that checked us in was great by allowing my mother and I to check in early. However the only thing that was bad was a noise coming from the bathroom vent which sounded like a slow dripping faucet. Definitely would stay here again and recommend it to other people.

I dont know like how unwelcoming the staff were. Rooms were very outdated and looked as though they could be more clean. Property was clean, but rooms were not up to modern standards. Also very noisy.

They even made you an omelette with your choice of toppings. Enjoyed our two night stay at the property.

Beds were uncomfortable and squeaked. Toilet kept running because handle got stuck. Price was too high for what we got and no breakfast. Probably won’t stay there again.

Breakfast staff was rude both mornings, shouting a demand for 'room number' the second we entered dining. 2nd morning dined a bit later at 9am and was given unsolicited advice that food was almost gone because we only serve until 930. More food coming in awhile. I asked how long awhile might be and was told a few minutes. Very abrupt both days, 2 different staff members. Made dining very uncomfortable for us. They repeated the shouting demand with each person who entered. Maybe 'good morning, may I have your room number' would be more friendly.

We had an amazing stay here. The staff was accommodating and the property was clean, fresh, comfortable and just everything we could have asked for.

It was under construction which is fine. However the pool and hot tub were simply dirty and unkempt. With all the other options in the area closer to campus and town center, I wouldn’t book here again.

Area well located and checking in was great

I checked in late, maybe 11:30pm. The clerk was friendly and helpful. The property was clean and the room comfortable. The Dove products in the bathroom were an add plus. I would stay here again.

I had to walk all the way over to the restaurant to ask the bartender to open my bottle of wine during dinner rush on a Saturday, wouldn't be that hard to have a wine opener at the front desk. Otherwise it's a clean and lovely hotel. Little noisy. Staff was polite, but not having a wine opener was a tad inconvenient. Also they closed the pool for maintenance from 7-8pm on a Saturday when clearly several families had come just to use the pool.

This is a hotel in transition. They are doing a lot to make it great. Some construction. Some updates, etc. Everything was good except the towels were all frayed. Not a little bit. A lot. But most everything else was really on par with my expectations of a Holiday Inn.

I was not pleased with this hotel due to a number of things. The room service that was supposed to be available throught the connected restaurant was not serving all weekend for any room services. Attempted to use the wired Ethernet cable but couldn't get that to work even though there was a brochure saying this service was available. The shower diverter didn't work so both shower and tub would run. Even the shower head looked old and antique. Was not at all pleased with this location

The pool was freezing. There was some kind of mold all over the hot tube. The people working at the breakfast area were rude.

Staff was great. The room okay-a lot of noise in the hallway. A/C was loud and there was an issue with the ceiling vent in the bathroom.

I would have given the staff a 5 star, but upon arrival I waited for about 5-7 minutes while the desk receptionist carried on a personal conversation….not even an acknowledgement saying I’ll be right with you. The hotel itself was clean, felt new and my room was wonderful. I do think this hotel needs to include breakfast in the price of the room and not a separate charge especially since it’s not a breakfast to order and has standard fare of what other hotels serve.

Staff is great. I needed to go to store and shuttle took me instead of using Uber. Across from airport, breakfast is great too.

Additionally, the floor outside our room was obviously not vaccuumed and very dirty. The floor in our room was very sticky. The pool was on the smaller side and not heated (and cold). The whirlpool was nice. Our room had a foldout guest couch which they did not provide sheets for. There was only a blanket and pillow in the closet and no sheets anywhere (on the bed when we unfolded it or in the closet.) The service was good except for a language barrier of 1 person not understanding what I was asking for but they tried and everyone was very pleasant. Really just frustrated with the lack of floor cleaniness and charge for breakfast.

My favorite hotel to go to!

The bathroom in our room was so small that you had to enter, move to the space between the tub and toilet in the back corner, and turn around to shut the bathroom door. It was the smallest bathroom by far of any hotel i have stayed in. That is what i will remember about this stay.

The exterior of the hotel is well maintained and inviting. Lobby and common areas were clean and fresh looking. Our room was clean, but the bathroom ceiling paint was smeared on the papered walls. It appeared the painter thought paint slopped on the walls would wipe off - it didn’t. It did not affect our saty but it is poor attention to detail. The worst issue was trying to find staff, any staff, at 8:30 pm on Saturday night to ask a question. There was nobody around. Elevators were our of service on the morning of checkout.

The cons: loud, small and crowded hot tub, and uncomfortable beds.

Staff is beyond wonderful and my room was exceptionally clean! Safe area and for being near an airport it was very quiet! I will absolutely be back!

Excellent hotel. Clean, spacious room with a good shower. The staff was beyond helpful and very nice. Though I didn't use the pool and hot tub, they both looked clean and well cared for. Located literally across the street from the Bloomington airport. Definitely will stay there again before a flight.

The room bathtub was not very clean, many rust stains. The room AC was extremely loud when cutting on and woke us out of our sleep a couple times.

Attached restaurant very good. Website information incorrect about airport transportation it is only for arrival, cannot leave car while gone which stated you can and earlier phone call to property stated I could.

Hotel was good, could be painted and newer furniture. Water was cold in shower both days we used it. Desk chair dirty and worn. Heat and air worked great. Front desk was great. Eric very helpful.

Right across the road from BMI was super convenient when my flight arrived at 23:00. Even that late at night, the staff was still helpful & courteous.

Bed was comfortable, room was clean, shower had mold around the bottom but I loved the water pressure. Breakfast was decent and coffee was good. Was a very quiet hotel. I would stay again.

The room was very nice. The hot tub was filthy with a layer of dirt on the suds. Tried calling the front desk and no answer after 20 rings.
