Holiday Inn Champaign by IHG

Our stay was just fine at the Holiday Inn. The breakfast is worth paying extra for because it’s through their restaurant, not really a continental breakfast. Beds were nice and it was convenient for my trip, close to campus, and my relatives house. Can walk to Walgreens or restaurants if needed!

They shouldn't be using a gas-powered pressure washer at 5:00 in the morning outside the building.

Bath water is cold or warm, no hot water. Requested toothbrush but never delivered. Terrible experience.

Breakfast was 15.99 and was an awful buffet. Could not order from a menu as I don't think they had a dining room just the bar/Breakfast area.

good location, limited parking, No complimentary breakfast, that area was rented out I think, it is bar in the evening and breakfast area in the morning, separate from hotel. No water, basically nothing. Room is kind of spacious, beds is okay. feel outdated.

Ade the staff member replied yes we are making more but I can guarantee you the decaf is regular coffee. Needless to say we didn’t eat at the hotel. The weekend we stayed was graduation weekend so the hotel was busy but businesses should better prepare for busy weekends.

Total dump. Lobby smells like urine. Outside of property is filthy and neglected. Arrived at 3PM check-in time and room wasn’t ready. They couldn’t tell me when it would be ready or if it would be ready at all. There were 5 people ahead of me all waiting for rooms as well - some had been waiting for over 4 hours so I don’t know if there even were any available rooms. Front desk was no help and didn’t care at all. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. 2 weeks before check-in they called me to tell me I needed to pay 100% in advance and non-refundable within 24 hours or lose the room even though according to my hotels.com booking, I could cancel for free up to 48 before check-in. My next call will be to the Better Business Bureau. These people are scam artists and I hope they go out of business soon. Horrible property, horrible staff. Don’t ever book a room here no matter how desperate you are.

The room was nice and clean and bigger than expected. I loved that there was a bar downstairs. The staff were all very kind and helpful. The only thing I didn't like was the limited parking next to the hotel. The spots along the backside of the building were confusing with all the tow signs. We were not told there was additional parking across the street however I did see a sign said Holiday inn parking.

The bathroom door was messed up so we couldn't close it all the way. We understood that breakfast was complimentary but we then discovered that you had to pay$15.99: per person.

My biggest complaint about this property is the lack of parking next to the hotel. Otherwise is a great place to stay when in town for football and basketball.

How the heat control works with the air it was confusing and didn't like how they take out $50 per room for if you want to purchase something or breakfast automatically and if you don't they refund it to your card 2 to 3 business day's later that's stupid

Booked specifically bc it said onsite parking and restaurant/bar for our later evening arrival / not wanting to get back out after checking in. Parking all around hotel said you will be towed if you park there and had to park in overflow parking across the road. The bar / restaurant was closed (it was 6:45pm on a Friday night). The elevator closest to where we had to park was broken. Our phone in our room was broken so had to walk back down to get extra linens for the pull-out sofa bed. There was a large group there for some sort of conference. They were loudly up and down the halls until at least 4am (when we had to get up), we heard hallway chatter and slamming doors all night long. Not a very comfortable, restful stay to say the very least. And not like we could notify front desk with a broken phone. We will not be back.

Do not like the barn door do the bathroom. I prefer a real door that closes on the bathrooms. Lobby smelled of chlorine and strong cleaner, but smell wears off by the time you get to your room.

Had I known the pool wasn’t heated and very cold and there was no hot tub I would have booked else where. Very disappointed in this but that’s not the hotels fault. That’s my own fault for not looking into it more.

Walking distance to restaurants, State Farm center, Walgreens and gas stations. Safe area we walked to our concert. We needed an uber after the concert which was quick to pick up and bring us back to hotel. Great stay, very clean staff were all very friendly. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Nothing, it was great.

I had originally booked two rooms through Booking.com. When I got to the hotel, only one room had been booked. I had to obtain the second room at the hotel. Ends up, the room directly with the hotel was cheaper. Will make me think about booking with the hotels in the future.

The room was convenient. We really appreciated Terrie who accommodated us when we arrived before 3pm. The room was clean, basic, quiet. The water took a minute to warm up, the heat wasn’t regulated the correct way and it made noise. The bed was comfortable. The room needed to be upgraded with a paint job and in the bathtub. Saw one small crawling bug while in the bathroom. Killed it and flushed it. Would return though if I needed to because of customer service and comfortable bed and convenience to getting to local sites and restaurants.

At check in times rooms were not available and the lobby was fillled with people needing to check in. This delay ruined our timing to meet with others, a very poor start to our stay. Management is at fault for not having rooms available as previously stated when reservations were made and our ensuing meeting plans were made based on the original check in time.

The hotel was filthy. Dried urine on the bathroom wall and doors. There was no way the carpet was vacuumed anytime recently. The shower was clogged, which was awful. We were supped to have a mini fridge and instead they replaced it was a safe. I will never stay at this hotel again. $400 is crazy! I am also letting my son team know this place should never be listed as the “team hotel”. I tried to find a manager when we were checking out, but everyone looked in a panic and overwhelmed state. I plan on calling to speak with someone this week.

Nice hotel but I thought the room arrangement was a little strange. Odd angle to watch TV from the bed. Also, unless you are handicap, parking was across the street from hotel, little inconvenient.

Employees here were the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! They were all s.iles, accommodating and extremely helpful. The room was clean and professional looking. My tv didn't work and I wish it swiveled, because had it worked, I'd like to watch it in bed!

Hotel room was even nicer and more spacious than online pictures. Bathroom was great with all the Dove products to use. I didn’t even have to unpack the stuff I brought. Needed a microwave and they brought one right up to the room. Plenty of eating options within walking distance. Only thing I would suggest is when you check in make sure to find out where to park. It is across the road but super close and plenty of spots. Would definitely stay again!!

rooms are good but the way they treat you as the “lobby closes” at 10pm with security is beyond terrible hospitality. There is not even a place to park besides a parking lot across the street from the hotel. This hotel is on the list for travel baseball tournaments but yet dont allow any place for teams or parents to just sit and socialize as security gets rude and says “im losing my patients group of people in town for travel ball from Indianapolis and was watching the NBA finals Pacers game and not being loud or anything and asked if we could at least watch end of the game (2:30) and was talked to rude as can be by security. Deff would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF IN TOWN FOR GAMES AT RANTOUL we will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN

Everything was dirty and smelled. The elevator smelled like rotting food. The first room I got smelled like mildew and I had to change rooms. This is just another example of hotel chains considering a paint job as an upgrade so they can charge more.

The Champaign Holiday Inn is perfect for a visit with your UIUC student. It is conveniently located, clean and has lots of available parking. I have stayed there many times and will be back!

Check in was fast & easy, the room was clean, plenty of parking and restaurants nearby.

From around 4 am one guy and one lady began to talk loudly almost over 1hours ( Especially a guy), and from around 6 am, people believed to be group customers make a loud noise in the lobby and left. Of course, it was always loud after that because it's the morning. I am here to visit Illini Fest and I am supposed to walk around whole day but this hotel messed up today because I wasn't able to sleep at all! Also, as soon as I came into the room, I found several hairs in the bed. It didn't matter at first, but now that I've had a terrorist night, I guess it has something to do with it.

Clean room , only complaint I have was from other guests being loud all night playing loud music, and x rated sounds coming from the outside of the wall.

I wasn’t pleased with my stay hotel room wasn’t clean bathroom was the worst of it all sink wasn’t clean the tub looked dirty towels had hair on it yuck ! And the toilet had spit in it from whoever was in the room before me which was absolutely disgusting…the bed was comfortable didn’t have a issue with that but I was very disappointed by the cleanliness of this room ☹️ staff was very nice during check in..no breakfast until 8 am I was told which sucked because I had to hit the road before hand

Everything was well but I did order 2 queen beds. The app over booked and I only got one bed. I did pay extra for the xtra bed so if I could get a refund for the bed I didn’t get that would be nice

The room was very nice. My only complaint was the parking, Limited spaces in front and side of hotel. There was more parking in back of the hotel but it was not clearly marked. There are restaurants and another office building in back so if you’re not careful you can park in the wrong area.

Breakfast is not included but available asthera is a small dining room and bar in the lobby. There was a hot breakfast buffet reasonably priced. Definitely would stay there again if in the area.

Mattresses need replaced as they are getting squeaky but apart from that everything was great. Parking is across the street. The hotel is adjacent to Wolfram Research. That should be a sufficient reason for you to book this hotel. If you dont know what that is, look it up!

Hotel is either newer or recently renovated. Rooms are clean and have everything you need where you need it and a good choice in the area. Only unusual thing was in order to check me in early, like 145-200p I was told I had to enroll in IHG rewards program. Not a huge deal but I didn’t want to join another program.

We only stayed one night as we were in town for an event. The level of cleanliness was concerning Some things clearly hadn't been cleaned in awhile.

Price was nice. Room was huge and clean. Liked having seperate sitting room. Staff was so nice. Ate at the attached restaurant. Food was fantastic. Liked everything we ordered. Just stayed one night on our half way point of a 16 hr trip. Will be staying there on our way back.

The interior of the hotel room, while it looked nice at a quick glance, the more I stayed the less impressed I was. The curtains were torn/ripped. If this was done by a previous occupant, I'm sure they had to pay for that damage. It's sad that those fees didn't go toward replacing the curtains. Especially for such pretty windows. The shower curtains were also ripped and old. It's time to replace them. The floors were disgusting. I spilled some water on the hardwood, and when I went to clean it up, my rag was gray after a few quick wipes. Does no one ever mop your floors? I ended up wearing socks the rest of my visit. It made me wonder about the cleanliness of all other aspects like the couch and carpet. Price was right, and it was very close to the I Hotel and Conference Center for the event I attended. Can't say I'd stay here again if I needed to revisit Champaign.

Very nice facility very friendly and attentive staff. Outside of not having hot water the first day which things like this happen, it was a pleasant experience. I requested a refund for the first day because of the Hot water issue and they promptly removed the entire charge for the first day. Very nice of them. I would recommend anyone to stay there and we will also the next time we are in Champaign.

The phone didn’t work, so I had to go down at 3AM to get management to inform the noisy guest to be quiet. The TV stayed on but was not as loud. I had to change rooms. The second one had several things broken.
