The hotel is generally well-liked for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. However, there are recurring complaints about the parking fees, noise from neighboring rooms, and issues with the beds and outlets in some rooms.

Room was large, and comfortable for the most part. It got hot in the room at night, and I was unable to adjust the temperature. There was mold on the wall in back of the bottles of shampoo and conditioner, so I didn’t use those. None of the staff asked me if I was satisfied either my stay or if I needed anything. The friendliest and most helpful people were the valet staff who parked and retrieved my car for me.

Convenient parking. Good breakfast. Bell staff excellent and courteous. Everyone was very nice.
- 4/5
Hotel elevators may be busy as it is adjacent to a convention center.
- 3/5
Room was clean, shower had a regular showerhead and a handheld, the button between them didn’t work so only the handheld would continuously spray. We prepaid for the breakfast and it was pretty basic, but they did have a beautiful fruit plate. The menu options for both breakfast and dinner were pretty limited (and no menus available online to review ahead of time). Overall not terrible, but for Marriott I think it was sub-par.

I had a wonderful stay! The room was spotless, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. The location was perfect—just a few steps from the Convention Center, which made attending my event incredibly convenient. I highly recommend!

- 4/5
One-night trip, solo. Great experience overall. Was able to get a late check-out as needed. Two hiccups: the call for dine-in took me to an automated message requesting "room status" that I could not resolve - front desk took my order. A microwave in the room would have been helpful.

Lisa Chaney front office supervisor was an excellent host. She went out of her way to make sure we had a great stay in Chattanooga Tenn for our wedding anniversary. I recommend you stay at the Marriott Downtown. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks again Ms Lisa Chaney.

I recently stayed at your property and unfortunately had several issues that made the experience far below expectations: 1. Undisclosed Parking Fee: I was not informed by the front desk that there would be a $25/day parking fee. This lack of transparency was disappointing and felt deceptive. 2. Parking Garage Access Problems: The parking tickets consistently failed to work when trying to exit the garage. I had to rely on valet staff each time just to leave the premises. This was both inconvenient and frustrating. 3. Water Temperature Issue in Room: There was no access to cold water from either the shower or the bathroom faucet. The water was always extremely hot — making it impossible to take a refreshing shower or even drink from the tap. This is a serious issue and one that significantly impacted my comfort during the stay. Overall, these problems were unacceptable for the price and reputation of your hotel. I hope steps are taken to address these concerns so future guests don’t experience the same
- 3/5
The bed was comfortable and the room was esthetically nice. The other reviews are right that you can hear clear conversations through the walls. We did get locked out of our room after the battery on the lock died, but the staff was able to quickly fix the issue. The front desk lady was very friendly and provided a city map and ideas for our stay during the 4th of July. You do have to pay $27 for parking or you can valet for a little extra. The pool was laughable, as it is EXTREMELY SMALL for a 16 floor hotel. You can comfortably fit about 8 small children in it (definitely not adults). There is a coffee shop and the food smelled great, but we did not order from the hotel. Overall, I would probably pick a different hotel should we stop in Chattanooga again.
- 4/5
Great stay! The bed was a bit worn out

Check in was fine, but we discovered there were no linens for the roll out sofa bed. We called the desk and they sent linens up. Then we went about out day in Chattanooga. When we came back that evening after 9pm, we discovered there wasn't a mattress in the sofa bed. So we call the front desk and their only offer was for us to switch rooms. We had already unpacked and in for the night. So, I went downstairs to speak the desk folks and they said the manager was away and would be back shortly. I waited and 10 mins later she showed up. I let her know what was going on (she was aware) and she was not nice about it. She said their only offer was to move us to another room. I asked for something in return such as a future comp or a 50% refund on the current room. She said she could only offer to comp our $20 parking bill. I expressed that was not adequate and she - very curtly - said that's all she could do because we booked through a 3rd party. We had to agree to move rooms (it was after 11pm by this time). No one apologized or made any serious attempt to make up for their negligence (no linens or mattress for the sofa bed) and the managers attitude was terrible. We will never visit this hotel again.

A/c didn’t work. Way over priced. Compared to what some people paid I got screwed
- 5/5
Everything was as advertised! The only thing I didn’t know why the restaurant was closed.
- 5/5

- 5/5

- 5/5
I liked the fact that the hotel is very conveniently located, and you can easily walk to restaurants and other activities
- 4/5
Great property
- 5/5
Amazing!!!
- 5/5
Nice place
- 5/5
We arrived at hotel and automatically could see the valet was pretty busy so we decided to park ourselves. We spoke with one of the valet workers and they helped us with the cart for our luggage and even help take to our room on the 7th floor. The room and bathroom was so neat and clean. Downstairs had everything you needed from bar, to the restaurant even the convenience of the store for snacks. Much needed 2 day getaway. Thanks Marriot Downtown Chattanooga. Oh and the night time musicians that played by the bar was outstanding👍
- 4/5
We didn't know there would be thousands of teenagers on the property. Once they checked out, we had a nice, quiet weekend at this solid Marriott property. It's situated between the two city areas of restaurants and shops and both areas are easily walkable.
- 5/5
My stay was great. Everything was clean and fresh. I felt very comfortable and safe in my room. Would definitely book again.
- 5/5
The bathrooms had mold in them.
- 5/5

- 5/5

- 5/5
Enjoyed
- 4/5
Parking was very expensive
- 2/5
We had a party of 5 and our room of two beds was given away and placed with a king bed and pull out couch; the size of a twin bed. The only accommodation they gave us was a food voucher for two ppl and a very tiny discount. We were uncomfortable the whole trip.
- 5/5
Staff and hotel spaces were fantastic!
- 3/5
I did a pre check in the evening before arrival, but at 4:30 pm local time, my room still was not ready, and I had never received confirmation that my early check in went through. I received a room about 45 minutes later. At 10:48 pm local time, I received a text stating that my room is now ready and I can come to the front desk to pick up my keys. As a convention hotel, more staff should have been on hand to take care of two major events, our sorority's state meeting, and the dance convention.
- 5/5
Very clean. Well worth it
- 4/5
Amazing deal for the price. Food is kind of expensive and no free breakfast. As long as you aren’t expecting 4 star hotel or higher it’s the best place to stay as far as bang for your buck.
- 5/5
Great location to many restaurants
- 5/5
Great hotel, clean and quiet at night
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, extremely convenient for any attending an event at the convention center.
- 2/5
The vending machines on all the floors were inoperable. My children & I had connecting rooms. Mine was fine; but theirs was not made-up or finished for new guests. They had to move us to a different floor where the rooms were ready, but instead of a King size bed, I had to settle for two double beds. My kids chose to shower before retiring for the evening after spending 10 hours on the road. Their water was scalding hot (no cold water - the cold side was hot too). My water was equally scalding, so I opted to wait until morning to see if the water temperature had improved. By morning the water temperature had returned to a normal function - hot & cold was available. We were offered a $25 meal voucher for the room change as compensation for the inconvenience. Frankly, we felt that we should have been comped on the entire one night stay. This Marriott didn't live up to expectations!
- 5/5
The bartender at the property was amazing!
- 5/5
Highly recommend. Room was very cozy. The shower was perfect and the eucalyptus shower gel help me fall asleep easily. The room was spacious and felt so comfortable.
- 5/5
All staff were excellent to deal with. Room was nice, smelled good, & was clean. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5

- 5/5
I love Chattanooga and Marriott just made it better

Bed was very comfortable. Room was clean and cozy. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend to all of my family.
- 4/5
Prime location: comfortable walking distance from the main attractions of downtown. Clean hotel: lobby, bar, elevators, halls, and rooms. Valet crew was elite. Always attentive, always moving with urgency, and one dude even went pretty far out of his way to open the door for my lady when I was picking her up out front for no other reason than out of kindness (give that man a raise) Concierges were kind. Only needed two quick interactions — check-in and check-out. Parking garage has a good system. Always prime spots open and it was well lit all hours of the day and night.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
Shopping and Dining not far from this place.
- 5/5
Great Stay!
- 5/5
We enjoyed being close to the great restaurants and the college. Breakfast was great and the guys had a blast at the lobby bar. It was a fun night. Everyone was super nice and valet was reasonable and convenient.
- 1/5
Several unknown bugs in room. Manager in denial. Other staff confirmed that they have been seeing it. Only comped one night but we were seeing them almost two days. No one goes over and beyond with customer service just the bare minimum. Oh yeah a 1,000 points too. People get 1,000 points just for showing up.
- 5/5
Exelent location, beutiful place to stay.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, great staff.
- 3/5
Hotel was generally fine but no cold water...very hot water only for sink and shower. I guess better no cold water than no hot water.
- 5/5
Great location!

We accompanied our daughter as she attended the FBLA conference. The room was very comfortable and surprisingly quiet with hundreds of kids in the building. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Cool place
- 5/5
Mama Trice was the best waiterest at the in house restaurant … Even tho most of the checkin staff was “In training” I felt everyone was very knowledgeable we had the best stay
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Clean safe convenient
- 5/5
Everything was great except for having to pay for parking
- 3/5
Clean and fancy but the service at the bar was so slow. They needed more help.
- 5/5
Liked: The easy in and out parking. Disliked: Nothing.
- 3/5
Had trouble getting service from my room for room service and from the front desk, found a small roach crawling around in the bathroom, but otherwise the room was comfortable, the staff was friendly and it was convenient for the event we were attending at the convention center. Pricey for the quality.
- 5/5
Everything was great. Staff was very friendly. Easy check in and check out.
- 5/5
For dinner one night we found a unique bar/restaurant within walking distance of the hotel.
- 5/5
Hotel staff was friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. In town for event at convention center and you could not beat the convenience of walking to and from INSIDE while the weather was cold and rainy for those driving in from other hotels!
- 3/5
Expected more for the price we paid
- 5/5
Everything!
- 4/5
the location
- 1/5
we assumed when we clicked on 2 beds that they would be queen size. They were full beds. THey were tiny. This is the only hotel I've ever been to that doesn't have queen beds. Never again.
- 3/5
The desk employees were very helpful.
- 2/5
Took over 30 minutes to get checked in. Long line, no help,
- 5/5
Ok
- 4/5
We were there for comic con and had a very good time! The hotel was amazing and most of the staff were incredibly friendly. The only thing I didn’t like was that the cleaning staff tried to force us out of the room to clean when my children and I were busy in the room, even after I tried to explain that we didn’t need anything done. She still unlocked the door and forced her way in which felt extremely rude and invasive.
- 3/5
Food was good. Room was average. Cold water didnt work in sink.
