Reviews
The hotel is praised for its central location and friendly staff, with many guests enjoying their stay. However, there are recurring complaints about the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms, as well as issues with room temperature control and outdated facilities.

Good location and nice staff Rooms could be better cleaned and maintaindled. The carpets were stained, some parts of the bathroom were dusty and had cobwebs. Walls between rooms are very thin, so we could hear everything going on in the hallway and adjacent rooms.

Clean, location near Union station. Friendly front desk. Great breakfast next door at the Elephant and Castle Nothing

It was great, as usual!!! This hotel never disappoints. Staff is friendly, always clean and the location wow !!!

Great location. I was charged twice for the room. First by Booking.com on June 5 and then at the property on June 9, when I stayed there.

Clean, easy access, quick check-in! It was great, no complaints

The staff were great - they went above and beyond to get a small fridge so hubby could keep his insulin cooled and check-in/out was smooth and easy. They also stored our luggage for the day so we could go and explore the city. There is also a decent bar adjoining the hotel with a good range of food and drinks. We paid for a standard room but it didn’t remotely resemble any of the photos on the website - it was small, dark and more akin to a cupboard. There was nowhere to put our luggage so that made the floorspace even smaller, and the electric sockets on one side of the bed didn’t work at all.

The late night check in woman was WONDERFUL! She tried making our awful experience as good as possible. She went above & beyond. I stayed at Club Quarters Central Loop in Chicago and had a very frustrating experience overall. I arrived around 10 AM and understood that early check-in wasn’t available, but I was assured multiple times that my room would be assigned as soon as it was ready. I made it clear we’d be returning late due to a ticketed event and was told that would not be an issue. When we returned around 10 PM, the front desk associate was great, but we were given the wrong room. We had booked a suite specifically because we are not a couple and needed separate sleeping spaces. Instead, we were given a one-bed room. I was then told our room had been given away and the hotel was sold out. The only option provided was a rollaway cot with an extremely thin mattress, which was so uncomfortable it left me with bruised hips. I was told I would receive a $100 credit for the downgrade (and have that in writing), and we were moved to the correct room the following night. However, it has now been five business days and I have not received the credit. I have also not received any response from Joanna Zevallos, Senior Guest Experience Manager, despite following up twice. To make matters worse, I was later told the correct room had originally been assigned to us but was moved by another employee. Between the room being given away, the unacceptable sleeping arrangement, and the lack of follow-through, this experience fell far short of expectations to say the least.

It was a last minute decision to make our reservation for a family of 4. What a great choice we made, and after check in the rooms (2) were both perfect, comfortable and located exactly with great access to our needed attractions. With only one day reserved the hotel offered luggage storage so we could run around, visit and experience even more of Chicago's cultural richness. Fast access to the Blue line to took us to ORD for our outbound flight. I would absolutely reserve a room again for any reason. If you have any questions just reach out to the front desk. They are super helpful and attentive.

Friendly staff who were very accommodating. The hotel was excellent. The restaurant attached to it had a bit of a limited menu but was overall good quality.

The room was very clean and the hotel is centrally located to all the sights and metro lines ! The room is a little small.
- 3.5/5
A solid location with a short walk to a supermarket, the bean and the Willis tower. A fridge is always appreciated, we had everything we needed. I could plug in my fire stick which goes a long way. Seems like the hotel could do with a renovation. The walls are also paper thin so you can hear a lot of the other guests as well as all the pipes.

This hotel is in an area that has multiple restaurants within walking distance. There are 2 different trains super close to the hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. My only negative was the AC was set to 56 degrees when I arrived but I wouldn’t had thought so. Being from Arizona walking in it was quite warm and it took awhile before it felt comfortable. It was a nice temperature once I was finally about to cool off. I wouldn’t think it was more between 75-80 in the room.
- 5/5
Front desk staff was welcoming and kind, room was very clean when arrived. Near some train stations if you need to go somewhere. Would come back again!

Location was great. Room was clean. Restaurants nearby. Room was noisy - a/c metal noise. Also noise from the building that sounded like constant thumps, was light but persistent throughout the whole stay. Bed didnt seem like a queen even though it was listed as a queen.

Location is ok, its near the parks. Elevator seem to be old.

I travel frequently to major cities on east and west coast. I understand the concept of surge pricing. There were a lot of events in the Chicago this particular weekend. I paid over a $1000 dollars for 2 nights. This hotel most certainly is not a $500 a night hotel. This is a very simple, basic hotel in a central location. The staff was overwhelmed by the crowds at check in. Check in took longer than it should have. The room was small but neat. The hotel was adequate it is just was not worth anywhere near $500/night.
- 5/5
The one thing was the elevators are a bit old and may need a few button presses to get you where you need to go. Ps. Do not explore the stairs as you will have to climb down.

Overall a very nice hotel in the very midst of the loop. Not luxurious, but absolutely solid. All sights in Chicago downtown are in walking distance, for other destinations, there are several metro stations closeby. Many restaurants and breakfast opportunities in walking distance. Very friendly staff. The price is a little high - but probably normal for a decent hotel downtown Chicago.

Staff was supper helpful with the check-in. It was on a terminal but they were helpful guiding me through it. Great location, and again the staff helped me finding out the bus stops I needed to go to, to get to the united cented. Also very quiet. There was a super... well stain directly above the bed on the ceiling . Also, the parking was about 75.00 for overnight packing in a city owned parking garage near by.

Excellent location and very comfortable beds. I really liked the water refill stations available for filling reusable bottles. The technology is also a great feature—you can check in and check out online and use your room key directly from your phone’s wallet, without needing a physical plastic key card or even stopping by the front desk. What I didn’t like as much was the elevator, which is a bit outdated, and the bathroom in the room, which also feels somewhat old. However, neither of these was a major issue or affected my overall stay.

The staff was outstanding. The front desk worked with us when our train arrived way earlier than expected and were able to allow us early check-in. Housekeeping went out of their way to provide extra towels when we needed them. Our room was clean and well taken care of. The restaurant attached to the hotel, Elephant & Castle, was great, especially for breakfast or a nightcap. This is an older building, so be aware the elevators move slowly sometimes.

Excellent location - a few minutes walk from Art Institute of Chicago, Millennium Park, and Michigan Avenue shopping. Staff was courteous, room was spotless, bright, and quiet. Secure parking, in a garage just blocks from the hotel, was an incredible value at $28 per night. Perfect for the single traveler -or the couple who are getting along famously - as room was comfortable, but not large. Bathroom was spotless, but small. Should you need a lot of countertop, you may be disappointed. Ditto for the closet. Want to relax, catch the latest news on Fox or CNN, take in your favorite streamed show? You'll have to do so lying down, as there is just one upholstered chair available in which to sit.

The gentleman at the Registration called maintenance, who confirmed the issue. I was then asked if I could stay in that room to which I declined and vehemently requested to be placed in a different room. I was then given Room 343 which is a handicap room to which when I brought this to the gentleman at the Registration Desk's attention, he didn't know this and I had to explain that there was no tub, just tile on bathroom floor with a drain.. The floor is uneven, flexes and speaks in multiple areas and every time I turned on the ac, it caused me to sneeze..... NOT the best experience for over $300/night. Would you agree ???

Breakfast was lacking except for coffee which I don't drink. I was glad I brought a hotpot and tea bags. That aside, the room was very nice. Staff was very helpful. Location was excellant. And there is a nice exercise room downstairs.
- 4/5
Great location within a short walk to museums, restaurants, theaters, and Millennium Park. Staff were super helpful and there was reasonably priced parking nearby. Beds were very comfortable. Room updates are inconsistent. Some are well-maintained, others have worn carpeting and are generally a bit scuffed up. All rooms were very clean and comfortable, would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great location. Reasonably priced for the location. Cheap room options if you don't plan to spend much time in your room

The motel was in a convenient location from Union Station. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Check in and out were very quick. They held our luggage for the day and were quick to retrieve it when we were ready to pick it up.
- 4.5/5
Wonderful location, shower was the BEST and the room was big. The staff borrowed us a little heater because we were cold in the room :) very nice. The bathroom has heating, so we could heat up the whole room. You cannot regulate the room temperature, the hotel has it set for the entire building. That was a hard no for us because i was COLD. But with the heater and the bathroom heat everything felt good.

Nothing They charged me the deposit and twice the transaction for the same stay, they havent returned neither the deposit neither the second transaction 10 days after check out, i wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, neither will never stay at this property. BE AWARE of the poor costumer service and charging twice without authorization.
- 1/5
nothing The hotel was extremely dirty — stained carpets, bed linens with mold, and constant noise coming from the air conditioner, where there were apparently rats. The breakfast line was around 30 minutes long, while the breakfast itself was very poor. And this is supposed to be a 4-star hotel. When I asked to check out early and receive a refund, I was simply told to go to the reception desk and change rooms. So either the hotel selectively has a few clean rooms, or I would have been moved into another room of the same poor quality. Where is the logic in that? A hotel that barely deserves 2 stars instead of 4 refuses to refund guests despite such a low standard of service and cleanliness.
- 2.5/5
The staff were lovely I have been trying to get in touch with the hotel via booking.con and no one from the hotel has responded to booking.com
- 2/5
This property is old and dated, rooms are small and very dirty. There were stains all over the carpet bathroom appeared not to have been cleaned in months. A lot of dust, bed was extremely uncomfortable. Very old mattress squeaky and very cheap. I stay at many hotels throughout the country and stay in Chicago often and thought I’d try this property, I will never be going back. The property charges way too much for having so many cleanliness issues and be so outdated.

Location is pretty good! I would say it's more of a good middle ground to get around by car. Everything I wanted to see(Alder Planetarium, Field Museum, Jazz bar) was about 8 minutes away from the hotel. No fridge or microwave in room, it didn't seem like there was even an option to upgrade to a room that did have one, but maybe I just didn't see it when originally booking! Just something to keep in mind.

Location, friendly staff, the attached pub with breakfast. I loved that it was just like the pictures—no surprises.
- 5/5
The pub below was nice to have and the rooms were clean. They were able to hold our bags for us when we got there and when we left with no extra charge. Our room was ready when we got there thanks to the online checking in. Check out was easy and there was almost always someone at the front desk. The only thing I didn’t like was no exhaust in the bathroom so it made the room hot, but we just turned the temp down.
- 3/5
Clean room, the cleaning staff was great. My room was #901, which was directly behind the elevator shaft. I could hear every bit of noise from the elevator when it started, stopped, and some nights, screeching sounds. I asked the staff to change my room to the same type, but they gave me a different, older room where the carpet had rips, and the couch had rips. I got a lesser quality room for the remainder of my 5-day stay. I've stayed here numerous times, but I think my last visit will be my last.

Asked Expedia for an early check-in and was told it would be after three like it was supposed to be. It was very cold in Chicago and all we wanted to do is get in a room and begin the day. They promised they would call when our room is available and never ever did. So we walked around in cold Chicago waiting for the call that never ever came. Got the room at 6:30 pm and went to sleep a couple hours later. The heater didn’t work and it was freezing in the broom although they did bring blankets up and a tiny space eater the size of a shoebox. It was definitely not worth what we paid. (A Premium price) and feel a partial refund would be in order.

Has everything I needed even for the standard room (microwave, fridge, coffee station, shampoo shower gel etc). Love how there are water refill stations conveniently near the elevators. No issue with room cleanliness. There was no ventilation in the bathroom, but not a big deal for me
- 5/5
Rooms could use a microwave

Staff was helpful and friendly

I don’t want to write a review

Not my first time staying here, but first in almost a decade. Hotel is in a great spot, but we were a little disappointed this time with a few aspects. We could not check in early which was TOTALLY fine, as they were fully booked. We were allowed to check our bags in early, but were told that they did not have a luggage cart to help us with our 5-6 bags. This ended up happening a second time later on as well when we checked in and retrieved the bags. We booked a suite, and again, it was just “meh.” The fridge had 3 long black hairs in it including one that was dangling from the middle shelf. We also had all of our stuff moved around by housekeeping which is a big irk for us. Lastly, it could have just been where the doors were positioned, but any time the room next to us opened and closed their door, it sounded as if it were being slammed shut. Unfortunately for us, that happened throughout the night 3-4 times and woke us up every time. The staff was super nice, the location is solid, the restaurant attached is great, and we will stay here again at some point. I know that this place is better than this one experience.
- 5/5
Helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room. Will stay again.
- 5/5
Nice place. Clean and good stay
- 5/5
Great hotel and location. I enjoyd my stay and will stay again.
- 5/5
Nothing at all
- 5/5
Staff was so helpful! Held our bags all day after check out so we could explore one more day in Chicago since we had a red-eye train out of the city.
- 4/5
Aunque no es un gran hotel ni se caracteriza por un bune servicio, es muy buena opción por su gran ubicación y tarifas razonable
- 4/5
The main thing I loved about this property is that the property was the self service check in. I found it very helpful during busier times and time efficient.
- 5/5
Excellent staff. Free bottled water station, laundry, and clean. Parking is cheap daily offsite for the loop. The pub attached to the hotel is reasonably priced and the food was good. Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay.
- 2/5
No breakfast was offered did not know about it until after. No laundry done. Ice machine was a wild goose chase to find.
- 3/5
The people at the front desk were not friendly, telling us to come back at 11 am for the check in to later tell us to come at 1 to then tell us that the room will be ready at 3. Lots of guests were waiting for their rooms at the lobby area, with luggage, sleeping, snoring. Just give the rooms! They’re ready and they know that. Anyway, wasn’t terrible but would never stay there again.
- 4/5
Nice hotel perfect location

I had to cancel and gave a full refund
- 5/5
Good rates, nice room.
- 5/5
i had a great stay at the central loop hotel in chicago and would absolutely rate it 5 stars overall the location is fantastic right in the heart of downtown making it easy to walk to so many attractions restaurants and transit options the room was clean comfortable and well maintained with everything i needed for a relaxing stay the staff was friendly and helpful which really added to the experience the only small issue i ran into was with the mobile check in it didn’t work smoothly at first however when i arrived at the hotel i was still able to complete the check in process myself without much trouble so it didn’t end up being a big deal overall i had a very positive experience and would definitely stay here again great value great location and a comfortable stay
- 4/5
Good hotel, clean room, good conditions.
- 5/5
Clean room, no latte machine like in Philly, but great location and convenience.
- 4/5
Great central location. Love the original artwork.
- 5/5
Recomendable!
- 5/5
Room was clean and etc
- 5/5
i stayed here during my first solo trip, and the staff was so helpful! the room and the breakfast were super nice too!
- 5/5
Everyi=thing was fine
- 5/5
Perfect location and an amazing value. The room was so comfortable and nicely appointed. Friendly and professional staff. I definitely recommend!!
- 1/5
Left hotel at midnight because our room was very hot -- the A/C didn't work, and windows don't open, so we were stuck in a very stuffy, hot room, and couldn't sleep. Apparently the buildling's HVAC system was only set to heat, so setting the in-room thermostat to cool was pointless. Other customers were also complaining. After an hour, the staff brought us a small fan as a solution -- but they were running out for other rooms. The front desk staff said no other rooms were available and claimed they could not book us in another hotel (which I find hard to believe -- just protecting their profits as a matter of practice). Without too much arguing, they agreed to a full refund (which indicates how bad the situation was, if they didn't put up a fight). After midnight, I booked a hotel down the street, which obviously was more expensive last minute. The hotel didn't follow up with Expedia of course, so I had to bear the burden of resolving the refund myself. Basically, the hotel seems to run on a shoestring: unhappy, overworked staff; reliant on self-check via screens; slightly run down and generally uncomortable. Some bean counters and executives are certainly making a great bonus by making everyone else miserable.
- 5/5
The pull out couch was broken and we had asked to have someone look at it Saturday while we were out but maintenance didn't make it by to fix. We just shoved the pillows back up under to prop it up. We were comp'd a free breakfast which was nice. Everyone was wonderful and I wish I remembered her name but we LOVED the lady that helped us check in and check out!! Would come back again
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and professional. Conveniently located, close to public transportation, Restaurants, coffee shops etc. And the hotel amenities are great also, specially the conference Room and work Stations
- 5/5
Super nice people.
- 5/5
Great staff, convenient location, excellent price!
- 4/5
Not so good but worth the price
- 5/5
The staff were wonderful and accommodated an earlier check-in for us after a long flight. LeShawn and Danny helped us with this. The location could not be beat - super close to attractions and the colleges we came to visit. I appreciated and made use of the coffee maker and microwave and the bed was very comfortable. The gym, though tucked away, was well-equipped. We will def come back and stay here!
- 5/5
everything was nice
- 5/5
I enjoyed the refillable water dispensers
- 3/5
old and small but close to the museum and subway station
- 1/5
I still haven’t got my deposit back and it’s been 2days later. Also very very weird they have a sign in your room that if you use the soap you will be charged who charges for soap that’s ridiculous you can’t even wash your hands because they will charge you for soap
- 2/5
I went down for breakfast at 7.30 am when I returned an hour later someone had been in my room my reservation strongly states that I'm leaving checkout is at 12:00 why was a hair dryer in my chair that I don't use and the one for the room is in the closet. I didn't appreciate it at all.
- 2/5
The TV had no signal. When I called down for maintenance no one came in an hour so I cancelled and went to bed. the next day I also noticed that someone had placed a plastic bag over the smoke detector. As I went out, I talked to someone at the front desk and told them my TV didn't work and about the disabled smoke detector. when I returned in the evening nothing was done about either. Unsafe and poor customer service
- 5/5
I thoroughly enjoyed the staff’s assistance and attentiveness when I required help.
- 5/5
Breakfast and food was great, clean room, staff was wonderful customer service, very helpful. First time stay and it wont be my last. Thank you

Great service, perfect location
- 5/5
The accommodation was really clean! It was a bit cold while sleeping, but overall, I’m satisfied!
- 5/5
Clean room and great staff!
- 5/5
We chose this location near the railway station, theaters, restaurants and museums. Clean, comfortable, appreciated the kitchenette, everything worked well. Minimal amenities but we didn't need them.
- 3/5
The hotel was convenient and very close to Union Station, but the room was extremely tiny.
- 3/5
Get a fridge, more clean towels

The complimentary laundry area was truly exceptional and made our overall experience an exceptional one!
- 5/5
Exceptionally staff
- 5/5
The hotel is conveniently located and the rooms are nice and clean. Parking was easy and fairly priced. I really appreciated the purified water bottle stations in the halls! It was easy to get around the area either walking or taking the bus.
- 5/5
smaller room as expected in a big city but good floorpan

As a solo traveler. This location was great, felt comfortable
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and location was central to walk to many of the big sights
- 1/5
Couldn't sleep too much noise
- 5/5
It was a great and affordable location in the Loop also near Public Transportation which is a huge plus. Went to the nearby Chicago Symphony Orchestra the night I stayed which wasn't far at all.
- 5/5
Lots of room, private halls to 2 or 3 rooms, excellent bottled water stations, great kitchen set up - even has a stove top, wonderful shower head, very clean and updated hotel

- 4/5
The hotel is very well located and staff were very nice. The room was small but also affordable.
- 4/5
Excellent staff interactions, room was simple but not lacking. Appreciate the refillable water bottles.
- 3/5
Good day… the staff was courteous, my room was clean and the mattress was comfortable. However, the pillows were too soft. They were so soft that they became flat often throughout the night. It was also way too hot. I turned the AC on but it didn’t work. Also, they had one ice machine for the entire building which is unusual. Lastly, the TV guide on the TV was off. The guide said one thing, but when I turnt to the show, something else was on. I don’t think I’ll ever stay here again.
- 5/5
Room was clean and staff were friendly
- 5/5
When checking in, I was advised that complimentary coffee was available 24 hrs daily in the lower level. To my surprise, this lower level was much more than a coffee machine in the corner. It was an elegant business suite with work areas and meeting rooms. Finally, the reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. When I checked in, I noted that although I had made a non-refundable reservation for 5 nights, I would only be staying 4 nights. To my surprise I was refunded the extra night. Definitely, if I ever revisit Chicago I will stay at the Central Loop Hotel. Great value for a reasonable price.
- 5/5
Clean room. Modern nice hotel in a great location.
- 3/5
I would not stay here again, unfortunately. The pictures make this hotel look a lot nicer than what we experienced. This hotel is on the older side, lobby was fine, but hallways smell like marijuana, and rooms are very small. Pay the extra money
- 5/5
Great room, wonderful and helpful happy staff
- 5/5
Everything and everyone was 4.0.
- 5/5
Room spotless, staff friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
It's all standout.
- 4/5
Room was nice and checking in was easy
- 5/5
I love the staff and amenities.
- 5/5
Everything was good, they were so nice and helpful. Even when our room heat went out they handled it quickly and let us get a new room ! They even upgraded our room
- 3/5
staff was kind and caring. my neighbors were very loud for both nights. reported this as well. still loud. kindly kept my luggage for me as i checked out earlier than my flight.
- 4/5
My stay began with a negative experience at the reception on the first day. While making my payment, the staff member on duty was unfriendly and unprofessional and demonstrated a clear lack of customer service skills. He spoke rudely and stated, “This is the hotel policy—if you want, take it or leave it.” This behavior was unacceptable and created a very poor first impression. In contrast, the reception staff I encountered on subsequent days were professional, respectful, and helpful. All other reception staff members demonstrated proper customer care, and I would like to acknowledge their positive attitude and support. In addition: The breakfast menu is very limited, offering little variety. The hotel appears quite old, and there was a noticeable unpleasant smell coming from the mart area, which negatively affected the overall environment. Room cleaning was not satisfactory. This may have been due to a high number of occupied rooms or a shortage of personnel; however, the housekeeping service requires improvement and closer supervision. Apart from these issues, the remaining services were acceptable. However, improvements in staff professionalism, breakfast options, housekeeping standards, and facility maintenance would significantly enhance the overall guest experience. - 5/5
Nice stay, great restaurant in the hotel
- 5/5
Hi, Ms. Adrian and Mr. Shawn are a ball of joy they took care of me and my needs. They were very helpful, polite, respectful, and have the best customer service approach. I will be staying again in the near future.

- 5/5
It was great and near to every place in Chicago
- 2/5
Upon arrival their was one guest in front of me at the desk. The attendant addressed me asking if I was with Amtrak to which I replied no, I have a reservation. He continued to assist the guest in front of me while I waited several minutes. When finished, he referred me to the kiosk where I could have completed my check in without the wait. The hotel also placed a security deposit hold on my account for larger than the price of the room and larger than the amount specified on the kiosk at check in. I still have not received the
- 5/5
Clean and cozy room, friendly staff. I'll definitely be bsck.
- 5/5
Clean, reasonably priced adjoining restaurant, great location.
- 5/5
Clean room, efficient and nice staff
- 3/5
Lots of load noises that kept waking me up from other rooms
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They allowed me to store my bicycle in a locked room with various large luggage so that I didn't have to leave it outside. The location is highly convenient, about halfway between Union Station and the art Institute, and around the corner from Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's beautiful Federal Plaza.
- 5/5
Yeah
- 5/5
Awesome
- 5/5
The staff members were outstanding. They switched our daughter and granddaughter, who had booked separately, to a room close to ours without having to ask. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The in-room coffee was excellent. This hotel will be at the top of our list on future trips to Chicago.
- 5/5
Room was spotless, staff very friendly, restaurant adjacent to the hotel and free pet stay! Love it! Will book again when we come back to the city!
- 5/5
Room was clean and cozy. All the basic amenities were working and the check out was easy. Automatic check in was not working but the front desk was great and helpful.

- 5/5
Good value and location worked well for our trip
- 5/5
The staff is very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Easy check in and room was good for the time I was there
- 4/5
It's an older property and not spotless, but for the price it was worth it. We didn't do the accompanying breakfast but did have food at the restaurant and it was quite good. One disappointing component was that the parking which they told us would be $25 per day with a special rate with the structure we had to park at did not get reimbursed at that price because the lady at the front desk upon check out said that she didn't know anything about that deal. That felt a bit like bait and switch because when we checked in and even did a message it indicated that that was available. It's not a lot of money, but I felt a little bit scammed as far as that went.
- 5/5
Location, walkability, proximity to the lake and Union Station.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Good location.
- 5/5
It was nice.
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful! The room was just what we needed for a cozy weekend in Chicago.
- 1/5
There were people already in the room(s) that I was assigned which made me feel very unsafe after tapping into the room. Their things were throughout and they were visibly in the bed together I almost had a panic attack and did not know what to do so I immediately went back to the front desk. I appreciated the room reassignment attempts but was given a smaller room with no kitchen and no additional rooms at all and then another room that was still smaller with no full kitchen and no additional rooms at all and still did not have a full kitchen like paid for. The staff seemed nice and I think work hard but as far as my experience I will never choose this place ever again.
- 5/5
Aaa
- 3/5
room was hot in a cold chicago winter. it’s a centrally managed heating system where a non stop heat coming through the wall and the thermostat is just a symbol
- 5/5
I liked my breakfast in the restaurant as it was not jus the regular breakfast bar but a real menu.
- 4/5
Confusion in coordinating parking validation (1-day stickers were not available) between front desk, manager (off duty) and the parking garage vendor (remote from site).
- 4/5
Great and comfortable place
- 5/5
Hotel was clean great location
- 3/5
Overall good experience, the front desk staff was friendly and the room was nice. However, we woke up to a dead cockroach by our door that hadn’t been there the night before.
- 2/5
Hotel is in a great location. The only issue we experienced was with the towels, which had a bad smell, almost like they hadn’t been properly washed. The room feels a bit old, so if that doesn’t bother you, it can still be a good option. However, if you care a lot about cleanliness and details, despite the excellent location, this might not be the best choice for you.
- 5/5
The front desk found out we were celebrating our engagement and gave us a free room upgrade! Staff was so kind. I loved the free laundry.
- 5/5
This was our second time staying here. It's clean, cheap, and in a convenient location.
- 4/5
Room was clean and quiet. The check-in process was a bit cumbersome. Overall, it was a very nice stay.
- 5/5
Very clean and well maintained room, comfortable bed, and great location!
- 4/5
Hotel was clean and walkable to bars and one of the attractions we were visiting. Hotel room is somewhat dated and bathroom is a bit cramped but reasonable for the price.
- 5/5
Solid amenities. Professional staff. Clean facilities. Outstanding location!!!
- 5/5
Room was clean staff was nice
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly
- 5/5
Staff was amazing and room was clean! Only small concern was that it felt like there was cold air coming in from around where the air intake is for the heater, but the heater worked well so that covered everything just fine.
- 5/5
Bathroom wasn’t clean
- 4/5
Friendly and cheerful check in. Clean and large room. Little to no counter space in bathroom
- 5/5
We enjoyed the friendly staff, clean room, and comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Room was spotless and had extra towels .
- 5/5
Clean rooms, nice staff, easy check in/out. Great location near all transit systems.
- 5/5
Sorry. I didn't eat breakfast.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent!
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
Nicely remodeled in a unique style. I liked the bar area in the morning. A couple of details that might just be oversights: the tile job in the bathroom was beautiful, but the floor tiles were slippery and there was no bathmat. This is a safety and liability issue. Also, apparently the decorators want to keep a vintage style, so they’ve selected light bulbs that have light output of Edison’s originals - the only adequate bulb was the one in the shower. I had trouble seeing what was in my suitcase - had to turn on the TV to get light from it - and reading was virtually impossible.
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff was very friendly. The hotel was very close to the venue where I was having meetings.
- 5/5
Nice place with comfortable room. We enjoyed pur time there!
- 5/5
Great location, clean, nespresso machine appreciated !
- 3/5
Was fine for what I paid. I liked it is connected to the Elephant and Castle restaurant and offers room service. Water bottle station in hall. Room was always hot. Kept having to turn thermostat down and it was running constantly but didn’t cool much. Stayed in mid Nov. Woke up with sore throat from air blowing all night but hot room even though we turned temp down. Decent location, didn’t report temp issue bc was only there one night but staff was very friendly the interactions I had.
- 5/5
Very clean room. The bed in my room was smaller than advertised (full instead of queen) but it was ok because it was just me.
- 5/5
Room was very clean. Front desk was open 24 hours for late arrival and they were very polite. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Great, quiet room. Great staff.
- 1/5
I had to call for someone to come spray the room because of a fouled odor
- 4/5
The room was clean, but it was smaller than expected. Self check in with.
- 5/5
Clean room and great location
- 5/5
Great
- 1/5
It’s a room (shoebox) if you looking for somewhere semi cheap to stay downtown. Room was dirty (stains on the walls, cigarette smell from ac/heat unit, lime buildup on shower head, it all just felt dirty and musty) Elevators are slow and old (you’ll wait a good five-ten mins before being able to go up to your floor) “Check in” staff was friendly in regards to showing us how to check in ourselves w an iPad… ? lol. Don’t recommend unless it’s a last resort and you really wanna save money.
- 5/5
Clean facilities and room
- 3/5
The elevator also made odd noises, which felt a bit concerning, especially since we were staying on the 8th floor. When we got to our room around 9:30 PM, my husband opened the door only to find housekeeping still inside finishing up. We were asked to wait a minute or two, which was disappointing after a long drive, especially since check-out is typically late morning and our room should have been fully ready by the time we arrived. Overall, the price was acceptable and the location is convenient with plenty of parking options nearby. However, compared to other Chicago stays, this fell below our expectations for the cost. It feels like a case of “you get what you pay for.”
- 5/5
Staff were great
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
Fantastic location, clean and roomy accommodations, and friendly and helpful front desk service.
- 3/5
No comments on business or bar.
- 5/5
Excellent customer service, the location was near everything i wanted to see. Would highly recommend!
- 4/5
Room was clean. I was surprised when I placed a " do not disturb" tag on the door and a service person used her key to open my door. It was about 4:45pm, so, this was not during regular room servicing hours? No explanation offered, just a quick sorry.?
- 4/5
Other then that, it was great. Room nice, small, but nice. In a great area of down town!
- 3/5
Fine hotel for an easy quick stay, but something made me feel unsafe... Perhaps the lack of staff and a virtual check in experience with less people guarding the doors from homeless nearby. relatively clean, it may just be a little dated.
- 4/5
Clean
- 5/5
I simply could not have been happier. everything , top to bottom, lobbies, rooms, lounges, all of it, super clean. Well maintained. I would go so far as to say luxe touches. The elevator has a marble floor with an inlaid brass logo of hotel. Elegant. There were crystal brilliant light fixtures. Furniture was up to date and well cared for. Carpeting was super clean. I simply cannot fathom why or how anyone has reviewed this hotel in any negative light. I grew up in the hospitality business so my bar is not set low and I was incredibly impressed. There is an enormous lounge off the lobby. I arrived super early and was told about a private lounge and invited to me to unwind and have a coffee before I ventured out for the day. When I entered, it was like an oasis with a barista style multi option machine. Comfortable furniture, Television, and work stations. The room was really, really nice. The bed provided blissful sleep. The bathroom was gleaming. Toiletries were full size Bigelow brand. Fridge, microwave, Nespresso, arm chair, and office chair that was like a recliner! Spending time in the room was a mini vacation of its own after long days. Streaming my favorite shows made it homey! And 100% soundproof. Very surprising. Book this spot!! The people, the place, the location, you will be happy!
- 5/5
Great Location
- 4/5
Quiet and clean. Felt safe walking around the neighborhood during the daytime.
- 1/5
trashy
- 5/5
It was very cozy ! Right in the heart of Chicago . The lady at the front desk was amazing . I didn’t get her name . She was so busy but took care of everyone. Without stopping what she was doing for us. I loved it . Very impressive! Thank you ☺️
- 4/5
I would like to take Adrian for her help and attention that she gives. I appreciate it. The bottles provided for water next to the elevators. I had the single kitchenette room, which I think served its purpose. The coffee offered was delicious. I wish I had that little coffee machine, and the brand of coffee. I really have no complaints and I recommend other people stay at this hotel. I was there also during the peaceful protest and I appreciate and thank the people who participated in the protest.
- 5/5
Everything was great, Nespresso machine was wonderful! Front desk was helpful
- 3/5
Check in was great
- 5/5
Room comfortable
- 1/5
Very unprofessional hotel manager and receptionist called Deed
- 3/5
Decent hotel but not nice enough to be $300 a night. Very basic and rooms are small/stuffy.
- 3/5
Decent location. Very rude waiter in the evening
- 3/5
Noises carry through doors / hallways. 1 of 2 elevators was out of service so long waits. Furniture is cheap and in some cases falling apart. TV reception was bad. Pictures online show corner rooms with two bright windows; you'll likely have one window without much light or a view. Overpriced for the state of things unless they were gouging for the weekend of the marathon. Microwave and fridge and coffee maker in room for convenience. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location very convenient to many features of the city and mass transit.
- 2/5
We stayed at this hotel for the Chicago marathon so we knew that we would be paying a lot of money no matter where we were staying, but my husband and I just had to laugh all weekend at how much money we spent to stay in such a poor quality hotel. The room was so small that two of us could barely move around the room. The bed was so uncomfortable that we woke up every morning with sore hips and backs. The pillows were also uncomfortable, so flimsy with no support. The water pressure was poor and the toilet would barely flush at times. The shower had hair (that was not ours) in it. There was only one working elevator so it would take a super long time to get anywhere. On the plus side, the staff were lovely and the location was great.
- 4/5
Please fix the second elevator up to floor 9!
- 4/5
Room was outdated, bed is very small
- 3/5
Each time I have stayed at this hotel the room conditions seem a little worse than the last time. This time I had ripped sheets and ripped carpeting and had to ask for a change in rooms.
- 2/5
I was very surprised about how expensive yet outdated this hotel was.
- 4/5
Nice and helpful staff, clean room.
- 5/5
Highly recommended

Clean & comfortable room. Great location for Theatre District, on site Pub a huge bonus
- 5/5
The gym and club living room/business centre were unexpected gems.
- 5/5
The room was clean. The staff was AMAZING!!! Close to everything and the gym was great!! Also, the work area was such a great addition to our stay!! We will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location!!
- 5/5
Great location, 10 minutes walking distance to the bean and Millenium park. Hotel has a bar/restaurant next door that opens late, where you can access with your hotel card key. Also it's really close to many cta lines
- 4/5
Easy check in and out

Another very good Club Quarter! Although the room wasn’t very large, we had everything we needed. Location is EXCELLENT and we were able to walk anywhere. The gym is well maintained and the meeting room (where you can print your boarding passes) is a nice area, perfect for relaxing while having a cup of tea or coffee. The breakfast is served at the pub next door: while it was good, we would have preferred more European choices, like espresso, orange juice, croissants or toasted bread with cheese or jam. All in all, it was a very nice stay!
- 5/5
Terrific location
- 5/5
Had an excellent stay in the Loop — a few blocks away from the L and the subway, and still close enough to walk out to toward the lake and the river. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely remodeled. The restaurant at ground level was also great. Would stay here again
- 5/5
Staff is very friendly and accommodating
- 2/5
Great location other than that not much else going for it. Hotel is very dated. Carpets and bathroom need to be renovated.
- 4/5
Modern and Tech Savvy
- 2/5
Cons: not very clean, random hair everywhere, bloodstains?? on the wall under mirror near desk
- 3/5
The hotel room is very basic, and quite small but we were not there often - we walk a lot and enjoyed roaming. Dining was 'touristy' until you made it out of the district - we enjoyed our walk north to Wrigley Field. But for price and convenience I would stay there again, and the staff interactions, although limited, were very pleasant and efficient.
- 4/5
Sorry that Oatmeal has been removed from Breakfast menu
- 4/5
I liked how easy checking in and out was
- 1/5
Our carpet in the room was very stained up. The humidity in the room was so bad everything felt damp and soggy which was not comfortable for sleeping at all. First few days it was somewhat cool but last day just plain warm and humid. We were expecting more based off reviews and pictures.
- 4/5
Note....DON'T include the pre paid breakfast option. It was a whopping 30 dollars per person extra and "includes a free breakfast at the Elephant and Castle next door". All you get to choose is one small breakfast option and a coffee or juice (no refills). I got the breakfast wrap and some potatoes. If you ask to see the regular menu, you can buy the exact same breakfast and drink for under 15.00. My husband asked for some toast with his and they charged us 2 more dollars...said no extras. Oh my!
- 5/5
We liked the available filtered water bottles. Walkin shower was very nice. Close to many interesting places.
- 5/5
Great stay! Room was clean and located in a great area. Even though we were in a busy area we did not have any issues with street noise at night
- 2/5
No fridge or microwave in the rooms. No microwave for public use on the premises when asking the front desk. Rooms are limited in size and space. It is in a convenient location so that's a positive.
- 4/5
Excellent location close to transit. Older hotel so noisy from guest next door and street. No fridge or microwave. When you check you bags early they make you wait in lobby after check in for 30+ minutes instead of bring them to your room
- 3/5
Staff was great. Online check in didn’t work.
- 2/5
Room was extremely small and absolutely not as advertised, pictures used were for an entirely different part of the property. We could hear everything happening in the hallway in our room, in addition to the bathroom light illuminating the entirety of the undersized room every time it was being used at night. The hallways feel like something out of American Horror Story, and the room was extremely worn down and poorly cleaned. The .5 mile walk from the sketchy parking garage is the cherry on top of one of the worst value hotels in the Loop.
- 4/5
When i first arrived i had reservations i dont no if it was because of tiredness or what.the location is spot on.i will probably book this hotel again but only because of the adjoining elephant and castle bar/restaurant.
- 4/5
It wasn’t super ritzy or fancy but was good for what I wanted a decently inexpensive place to stay. It was clean and basic amenities
- 3/5
Room was not very sound proof. We heard the ice machine at any hour of the morning and night. Room was tiny and kind of old and dingy. Needs a makeover and coat of paint. Staff was friendly and helpful although the concierge told us the wrong underground train area for Wrigley. Luckily there was someone there to help direct us over to the redline.
- 3/5
The room wasnt cleaned properly, my daughter she is 3 found a pill on the floor and a baby oil bottle under the bed , trash was still inside the room when we check in.
- 5/5
Front desk was very kind and helpful.
- 4/5
there is no hairdryer at the rooms
- 4/5
Elevators are funky and tend to go to the floors they choose. I mentioned this to the staff as a tan member and I were delivered to the wrong floor and had to try again.
- 2/5
During our 3-night stay, we requested housekeeping twice, and no one ever came. When we called the front desk for towels, it took 45 minutes to an hour for them to arrive. The only positive aspect of this hotel is its location — it’s walkable, and the surrounding area is great. However, the hotel itself is nowhere near a 4-star standard; it felt more like a motel.
- 4/5
Free purified water
- 5/5
Nice, clean and trendy place to stay at. Self check in and check out if you choose or friendly help front the staff.
- 5/5
Staff is great room is clean bed very comfortable all at an affordable price.
- 5/5
Very cozy hotel in the heart of Chicago. My room on the 8th floor was just big enough for one or two people, but the view from the floor to ceiling windows was worth the size! The complimentary purified water dispenser and reusable bottles in the hall paired perfectly with the Nespresso coffee machine in the room. Bathroom was clean, bed was super confortable, and location is close to mass transit from airport and walkable to everything else. I wikl definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Hotel is near all the L lines making it easy to get to Rate Field and O'Hare Airport. The hotel has a restaurant that has breakfast 😋 at reasonable prices (I highly recomend getting a breakfast wrap and a side of baked beans) and several restaurants within walking distance including Giorvano's for Chicago Deep Dish 🍕😋. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Chicago.
- 5/5
Great location downtown! The staff were incredibly helpful and informative. When our room wasn’t ready, but we wanted to go out to eat they graciously offered to hold our bags for us. An amazing perk when you want to tour the city without your luggage.
- 4/5
The staff was excellent. The room was small and a bit tired. They provide refillable water bottles by each elevator. The location is good, being a 10 minute walk to the Art Institute and Millenium Park. However, know that food choices in this area are very limited. Especially on the weekend. The preferred mode of checking in and out is via the kiosks in the lobby. It is a pretty straighforward process. Overall a good visit. But the room was very small. You don't get much for $250 a night anymore.
- 4/5
Nice hotel wonderful staff. Room was very small but it was just me so worked out well. Could hear lots of banging doors late at night, assume it neighbors returning from a night out. That would be my only complaint. Will definitely stay again next time in Chicago...pub food was so good..highly recommend!
- 3/5
Hotel was nice. Bed were very comfortable. Walking distance to everywhere. The down side was that I got 2 superior rooms but only one had a proper kitchenette with a sink, large fridge, very large bathroom. The other was more of a standard room. No sink, small nook with microwave and very small fridge. And small bathroom. They said they were both the upgrade I requested but no, both were very different.
- 5/5
Very quiet and clean hotel. The front desk staff were very professional and kind. The room was a bit more small than I anticipated, along with the bathroom. I would have liked a more spacious room. However, everything was very clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Close to various landmarks and easy check in and out
- 5/5
Service and Staff are great. Two items I think the hotel can make improvements on, wash windows, change toilet seats.
- 4/5
It was ok
- 5/5
The hotel was immaculate. The staff was professional and courteous. We enjoyed the location centrally located and convenient to Union Station and the lakefront shops and Chicago Fine Arts museum.
- 5/5
The room was small but very well designed, making best use of the space. It was very clean and comfortable. I liked having a Nespresso machine. I will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
After a long train trip it was great to get to agood hotel within easy walking distance and have a great sleep.
- 4/5
Great hotel that is very busy but quiet and safe. Excellent location. I didn’t mind the do-it-yourself mentality of checking in since it doesn’t make you feel all that welcome but the price is right so I’d stay here again.
- 5/5
This hotel was centrally located in the loop with easy access to many bus routes and the L train system. The convenience of several restaurants within a couple of blocks was also a plus. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were helpful when needed. All in all, a very good value.
- 5/5
Adrian was very knowledgeable and sweet. She told us a lot and the fact you could wash your clothes for FREE and the complimentary cappuccino was great. The staff were amazing! I would stay there again.
- 5/5
Amazing place to stay
- 2/5
There's nothing wrong with this hotel, per se. The price for the location is excellent, it's reasonably clean, and the bed is comfortable. But it's also a very bare-bones hotel and I'm not sure why Expedia considers this to be a "4 star" hotel. You should book a stay here if you need to be in the Loop and want a good deal, but it's not comparable to other hotels that are considered to be "4 stars."

Great place to stay for conferences
- 5/5
Cold purified water stations with good strong plastic bottles with secure but easy to open.
- 5/5
The hotels were relatively nice.
- 4/5
The only thing I didn't care for is the email to check in early. It went through all the steps, but didn't record my check in. The front desk said they've been having problems with the app.
- 5/5
Loved it!! Nice room and I could chromecast my fave shows and movies :)

Although the rooms are small, you will not hear your neighbors. They also response quickly to concerns and complains.

Except for no microwave and no refrigerator everything was fine. Excellent front desk staff!
- 5/5
Clean and convenient location!
- 5/5
We loved our stay, the nespresso, water filling stations, and free laundry were above expectations.
- 4/5
The hotel is nice and the room was large and comfortable. However, the place is old (carpet on the floor, etc.). Also, they were not able to provide real plates and cutlery (only disposable ones).
- 5/5
perfect location. steps to CTA stations, river, theater, restaurants.
- 4/5
It's close to the Blue Line Monroe stop and across from the post office if you need to mail anything.
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay
- 4/5
The restaurant downstairs was a nice bonus. The food was tasty and the service was excellent, which made it convenient to grab a good meal without having to venture far after a long day. I also appreciated how safe I felt during my stay, and the location can’t be beat. Central Loop Hotel is right in the heart of the city, making it easy to access all that Chicago has to offer—museums, restaurants, shopping, and public transit are all nearby. The only downsides were that parking is off-site, which can be a bit inconvenient, and the towels in the room were very scratchy and felt quite worn. These were small issues, though, in an otherwise enjoyable stay. Overall, I’d definitely consider staying at Central Loop Hotel again. The great service and unbeatable location made it a solid choice for visiting Chicago.
- 5/5
It was really nice to have the water bottle refill station right outside the elevator on each floor. It was also nice to have the espresso machine in the room for coffee. Staff was very responsive when get extra towels and TP.
