    This hotel is beautiful and the staff is great! The front desk attendant, Arthur, was especially helpful in assisting me with a parking issue. This hotel is in a prime location!!!! I highly recommend this hotel!

    Our reservation was canceled due to them emailing me while I was in flight on our way to Chicago, I couldn’t respond because I didn’t get the email until we landed and got our luggage and checked my email, I called and they said because I didn’t respond they canceled our reservation and gave our room up. We were traveling to Chicago , so we had no hotel and had to scramble around to find an hotel accommodation! Very unhappy with this whole situation!

    The breakfast buffet was great each morning! The location is spectacular- you can walk to the river in 5-7 minutes and the red line access is one block away! There are places to eat everywhere around the hotel and it was a short Lyft ride to anything we wanted to do. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The elevators were always quick and easy to access. After a certain time there was a security guard on site monitoring the door and requiring people to scan their card which I appreciated. Everything was clean and maintained. There is a fire station very close that you can hear at times but it did not bother us at all, in fact the breakfast area has a large glass wall facing it so it was fun to watch their station from the hotel and see all the activity happening (like them testing out the ladder each morning)! I wish there were smart TVs in the rooms so people could stream/cast from their phones to watch things in the evening or log in/out of the apps. There is only basic cable accessible which is outdated. There was no fan in the bathroom which is tough when multiple people share a small room (or the one in our room didn't function). You could hear people's doors slamming very late and very early so it would help to put some slow closing devices on the doors for sure.

    Everything was great. Hospitable staff, room was nice and comfy, cleaned daily. Me and my husband were there for our anniversary and the staff gave us a complimentary bag of goodies and good recommendations. We really appreciated the attentiveness and kindness of the staff. The hotel was in a great location, walking distance to great local spots and public transport. Overall, we had a great stay.

    The staff was great The breakfast was good omletes and sausage one day and bacon and scrambled eggs the next plus bunch of other stuff.I had to park in a garage a couple of blocks away didn't like that much but once in the room I didn't need my vehicle anyway till I left. Bed's were ok not great. Shower was good.

    I think the kitchen needs a sponge, pods or dish soap so the dishes can be cleaned. I wasn't too thrilled about being charged for a marketing fee. That shouldn't be a separate charge. If anything, it needs to be included in the cost of the stay or the company needs to pay for that & not the guest. Couches need extra love by getting a company to clean them.

    I like the room size and it was nice to be able to heat up left overs. Staff was nice and answered the texting system very quickly for any requests. It's right next to a fire station and goodness was that loud and frequent. Also on booking it does say a $100 deposit fee, but had to pay $300. I know you get it back, but now it's something you have to factor in. Pillows also inconsistent with some being super thin. Would've like having a smart TV so I could stream over cable TV with so many ads.

    My recent stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites on Illinois Street in Chicago was an exercise in pure frustration and a masterclass in poor guest management. To suggest that sleep is possible in this establishment is a fallacy; the mattress felt as though it were carved from solid rock, and the room’s design flaws were relentless. Between curtains that failed to fully close, a glaring fire alarm light positioned directly above the bed, and a significant gap in the door frame that allowed both intrusive hallway light and a lack of privacy, the room was a perpetual sensory disturbance. This was compounded by the hotel’s proximity to a fire station, resulting in the jarring intrusion of sirens every thirty minutes throughout the night. Even the bathroom door contributed to the chaos, emitting a piercing, high-pitched squeal that echoed through the room at the slightest movement. The inconvenience extended far beyond the room itself. We were left to discover the elevator’s key-scan security requirement by consulting other guests, as the staff failed to provide basic operational guidance upon check-in. Furthermore, we were blindsided by an unadvertised $60 nightly parking fee for a self-park garage located several blocks away. When we attempted to mitigate our misery by checking out a day early, the front desk flatly refused a refund for the unused night. To finalize the disappointment, the breakfast service was abysmal, featuring overcooked, dried-out sausage and hard-boiled eggs that were structurally impossible to peel. Given the exorbitant rates charged, this hotel offers nothing but discomfort and calculated inconvenience. I strongly advise prospective travelers to avoid this property entirely; it is an overpriced failure that provides none of the standards one expects from the brand.

    The location of this hotel is just absolutely terrific for getting around in the downtown area of Chicago. We used the gym, which has a good selection of gear, as well as the pool, which is lit by a large skylight. We opted to not pay for valet parking, instead choosing to park our car for the weekend in one of the many garages in and around this area, which ultimately was just as good, only thing is we had to carry our bags to the hotel for a couple blocks.

    Definitely a hotel for families. My kids absolutely loved the pool filled with kids their age (5 & 9). I appreciated the free breakfast and convenient market for last minute snacks and things. We used SpotHero to find cheaper parking near the hotel. We ended up at Grand Plaza parking garage. The garage was under construction and kind of tight but a third of the cost.

    It was a great hotel other than the fire station next door. Seemed like it was every hour all night the fire truck sirens were going. Hopefully you get a room on the opposite side.

    We booked a double room with two beds for three people, but since the hotel was overbooked, we were downgraded to a King room with a rollaway cot. The cot was ancient and incredibly uncomfortable; you could feel every spring through the thin mattress. Furthermore, the room was dated and lacked any soundproofing. Being located next to the elevators meant constant noise from foot traffic, and the connecting door allowed us to hear everything from our neighbors. To make matters worse, a nearby fire station had sirens blaring throughout the night. Between the poor bedding and the noise, we barely slept. We definitely do not recommend this hotel.

    Breakfast is busy, but pretty good. The room and bathroom was clean but a bit dated. Overall a good place to stay but the management does not allow any flexibility for cancelled flights. We were stuck in a different city overnight and they would not budge on any credit. Only book with them is you have zero risk of last minute travel issues.

    Cons: can hear neighbors easily, pool is usually very busy with kids (so wouldn’t recommend if you’re a couple looking for some chill pool time like we were lol), no smart TV so unable to stream stuff. Overall, it was a nice stay for my boyfriend and I. My only suggestions would be maybe implementing smart TVs and perhaps an adult swim time at the pool, even if just an hour at night. Definitely a more family-oriented hotel so keep that in mind.

    We enjoyed our stay in a corner suite with separate bedroom (2 queens) for five nights. My daughter, granddaughter and I each had our own place to sleep and enjoyed the extra space the accomodations offered. Breakfast had a lot of choices and was another reason to stay here. The staff were helpful with questions and getting us cabs. The cleaning staff are available daily but not intrusive (ask you what you need). Internet worked well for me. It's a very convenient area for attractions, food, shopping, etc. We would definitely consider returning.

    No valet parking, parked a couple blocks away and had to walk in the rain. No exhaust fan in bathroom so everything was dripping wet after a shower but housekeeping does an excellent job keeping the mildew cleaned up. Breakfast selection was good- would recommend spacing the waffle cookers out some, was very crowded when people are trying to turn the hot press. Elevators were awful, they were so slow and in the mornings constantly full. We decided to take the stairs one time.... didnt know you have to get off on 2nd floor to stay in hotel- we ended up exiting the building in an alley. When we went to leave we had to wait over 30mins for an elevator that we could all 4 fit in with the luggage cart- maybe have the service elevator available for those checking out to use.

    I don’t know where to start! The room was clean, the pool was clean and I like that the outside terrace was attached to the pool! The staff was beyond amazing especially Bella! The staff absolutely had no problem accommodating anything I may have needed during my stay! The breakfast was more than exceptional! They don’t offer valet but the parking structure is only a 2-5 min walk from the hotel! The walking distance from all the amenities was short! I’ll definitely book this hotel again!

It was unsafe for younger kids to be in the pool because of the wake created by the rowdy crowd. Breakfast was also extremely crowded.     As a single parent traveling with kids, this was a very clean and safe hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Brent was very helpful with check-in and carefully explained the nearby parking garage available for a fee. The free breakfast was great each morning and the staff did a wonderful job keeping things hot and replenished. The housekeeping staff smiled and greeted us as well. All around great place with great staff. I’d come back!

    Very good location for what we needed. Valet was so kind, I left my phone in my car and didn't realize until we got up to the room. We were going to have a drink at the bar anyway so I told him, said no rush and he could just grab it when he went out there next but he insisted on going right then. Room was comfortable and clean.

    Great location in the city. Lobby is modern and beautiful. Staff were welcoming and professional. Made the check in and check out process easy and efficient! King suite was spacious with 2 rooms. One with a sitting area, Tv, and kitchenette. Other room was also spacious with a king size bed and still plenty of room. Bathroom was generous size too. The CLEANLINESS stands out.     Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The rooms were comfortable and clean and the breakfast was hot and delicious! The only thing I would change would be the toilet paper. It was worse than the to in the subway stations, but that's pretty minor! Overall, we'll be back! I'll just pack some Charmin ;) the staff was super friendly too and held our bags after checkout while we did more sightseeing. Definitely recommend!

    Our room was in close proximity to the fire station. So there were a LOT of sirens. But it was a clean and beautiful hotel. There were also about 6 kids screaming at the top of their lungs in the pool, but that reflects on the parents and not the hotel. Just be aware of the acoustics…

    The rooms were mediocre, clean but the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows flimsy. The breakfast was poor quality, frozen eggs, kielbasa slices, no fruit, sugary cereal.     This hotel failed on the most basic responsibilities of hospitality: safety and accountability. **First—and most serious—our room was robbed.** A laptop, two iPads, and a camera were stolen directly from our room while my husband was asleep in the bedroom with the doors closed. The circumstances strongly suggest an inside job or, at the very least, a shocking lapse in security. There are no security cameras on any guest floors, nor outside elevators or stairwells—an astonishing oversight for any modern hotel. Management claimed to follow “protocol,” yet that protocol somehow couldn’t determine who accessed our room or when. What makes this even more infuriating is that all three devices were actively tracked after the theft. We provided management with details and a clear one-hour window during which the devices were taken. Despite this concrete information, the final response was essentially, “nothing can be done.” No accountability, no meaningful investigation, and no reassurance that guest safety is taken seriously. **Second, sleep here is very difficult.** The hotel is directly next door to a fire and ambulance station. Sirens go off throughout the night—loud, frequent, and disruptive. This critical detail was not disclosed prior to booking. Between the theft, the lack of basic security infrastructure, the powerless management response and nighttime noise, this stay was stressful, unsafe, and deeply disappointing.

    Everything about this hotel was perfect until it was time to sleep. We tried to turn the heat down and once we did it would not change temperature. We checked the temp in our room and it said 87° F. Heat was steadily pumping out even when we turned it off which made it hard to sleep while sweaty and hot. Overall, everything else was pretty good, friendly staff, very clean and convenient location.

    Really smooth check in and check out. Good breakfast options. Was a bit disappointed in the fact that the room was not as clean (lots of dust and crumbs in corners). The kitchen area also did not have any of the amenities that normally come with suites (dish soap, sponge, plates, utensils). We picked a suite so it would be easy to make meals for kids but we felt like there was nothing there except a microwave and sink which we could’ve had for less $$ in a regular room.

The only downside would be that it felt like the air circulation could have been better.     Valet service was terrible—stole shoes from my vehicle. Trusted staff was terribly wrong. Luckily, I grabbed everything else from the car, leaving my shoes behind overnight, assuming the valet would have my vehicle checked in.     One of the best bargains in town, quick check in with professional service, a nice bank of fast elevators with secure usage, large, clean rooms, good amenities for bathing and coffee, safes that are easy to use, a buffet breakfast that could use a little variety, and a pool I used to swim laps in. The best part, it’s close to everything and the Red Line train to Wrigley is less than a 5 minute walk away!

    Hotel lobby was beautiful, and room was very nice. Our room was on the top floor (12th floor). The only complaint was the water pressure, or lack thereof. Location was very convenient to the Red Line.

    This is a downtown Chicago property, so the check-in is sketchy. Park in the street with blinkers on and go inside to register. The staff were very nice, and the rooms were comfortable and quiet, with a great bed and a clean bathroom.

    We were happy with our stay right from check-in, room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We didn’t use the pool of gym, but it was decent looking and great that those options were available. Location was awesome for travellers without a car, like us. Not far from prime locations to eat, shop, visit beaches and sporting events, and anything else the city of Chicago has to offer. The only downfall was the amount of sirens we heard as the hotel was close to a fire station. But this is quite normal in downtown areas of big cities.

    Stayed here for a long weekend with 4 kids. Rented the Queen corner suite. My daughter said the pull out couch bed was the most comfortable she has stayed on in a hotel. Room was very spacious and had everything we needed. Staff was exceptional, especially, Bella, who checked us in and remembered me by name throughout the stay. Everything we wanted to see was within 20 mins walking distance (Navy Pier, Riverwalk, restaurants, Millennium Park).

Please, please consider investing in higher-quality pillows — it would make a world of difference.     This property was everything I hoped for after reading the reviews. The lobby looked amazing as it did in the pictures, but the suite was just as pristine as well which is always a concern. We loved the modern kitchenette space. The bedding was comfortable. The internet access supported all of our devices. The hotel itself was centrally located to plenty of activities restaurants, a convenience store and even a grocery store. We were able to walk most places and Ubers were easily accessible. We did get a room on the opposite side from the fire station which was helpful. Even though we could still hear the siren, it wasn’t bothersome as it is just part of city living. It didn’t disturb our sleep nor our kids. We would most definitely stay here again.

    This hotel is right next to a fire station, so be warned, you’ll be woken up all night by emergency response vehicles. Very noisy. Other than that, the staff were helpful, the breakfast spread was great, and the rooms were well kept.

    Great location for site seeing and touring Chicago. Very friendly staff, amenities were very nice. Room was really spacious with separate living room and kitchen area. Breakfast was a nice start to the day. Room wasn’t cleaned one night but front desk quickly brought fresh towels. Indoor pool wasn’t heated so was quite chilly.

    Our suite was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly. One thing to keep in mind is if your room is on the street ours was, it's across the street from the fire station & the sirens are frequent & very loud. It's the only reason my review is 4 star instead of 5. The hotel itself is lovely and we would stay again, but in a different room.

    I enjoyed my stay here. I didn’t get a chance to experience breakfast or the pool, but it's nice that they're avaliable. I loved the area, very easy to walk for food and entertainment. The bed does need replacing as it makes a squeaking noise when you sit on it and the mattress wasn't that comfortable. Even with that, I would stay here again.

    Early check-in was not available and then our room wasn’t ready at 4:00. We weren’t able to get into the room until after 5:00. When we finally did get in, we had no conditioner or body wash in the shower and we had 1/2 a roll of toilet paper.

    My husband and I stayed here with our two-year-old and had a great time. I'd stay here again. The location is very convenient to walk down to the river or around River North. It was clean and comfortable with good air-conditioning, a plentiful breakfast with many options, and a pool area. My only deductions on my rating are because when we arrived after flying in from the East Coast and went to check in, we were told our reservation had been cancelled! This was extremely stressful, as we had not done this and were counting on the hotel for our six-night stay. Expedia and/or Hampton Inn had some glitch in their system that caused our room to be cancelled without notifying us. The hotel was fully booked except for one room, which was not the room type we had reserved, so we had to spend a night in a smaller room and then move to the suite we had reserved for the rest of our stay. It was stressful and inconvenient for the start of our trip, but the rest of the trip was very enjoyable. I'd just suggest calling to confirm your room is reserved before arriving to avoid the stress we had. As I said, however, I'd still stay here again!

    It was very close to the Magnificent Mile, river cruises along the Chicago River and taking a bus/trolley to Navy Pier. I'll stay there again when I come back to Chicago.

    Only stayed here for a night with my mom for my Stray Kids concert at Wrigley Field and the hotel was reasonably priced, safe, clean, chic, high quality and generally easy to navigate around in the hotel. Also, very quick and helpful customer service too. Which I highly appreciate. Both me and my mother enjoyed our stay here. Thanks! I would definitely stay here again in the future.

    Our room was great for our needs, but the beds were a little on the firm side for my taste. The pool was a little underwhleming and seemed small for the number of guests. Our only other hiccup was maid service seemed inconsistent. We were out of our room daily from 9 am to 4 pm or so. One of the days, the maids were in our hallway when we returned, but hadnt gotten to our room. Another day they just never showed up at all. On check out day the maids arrived at 9:30 am while we were finishing packing up for our check out. Check out was at 12 pm and we vacated the room at 10:30 am. All in all, the hotel staff was friendly and we were satsfied with the stay for the price.

    The front desk was so helpful in answering all of our questions. The pool was great and breakfast was very good. The rooms were clean and a great size. The valet was also great. We were greeted with a friendly smile everytime we came back to the hotel.

    We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel has a modern look and feel, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a thoughtful touch in providing sustainable soaps and lotions in refillable dispensers—something we really appreciated. The breakfast selection was excellent as well. One suggestion for improvement would be to replace the single-use cutlery, cups, and plates with reusable alternatives. It felt like an unnecessary source of waste, especially given the hotel’s otherwise commendable sustainability efforts.
