We had a great stay at the Residence Inn in downtown Chicago. The staff was very polite and helpful, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is in a convenient location, making it easy to get around the city. Overall, a very pleasant experience—we would definitely return.

I was able to walk to various places to eat, shop, and bar hop. The location is excellent. Not far from Navy Pier. The staff was helpful and courtesy. I will revisit this location.

Nice room. Front desk lines can be long and staff sometimes distracted by calls or gifts to give out etc instead of guests waiting in line. Bellman downstairs very nice and helpful and stored bags.

And even before the trip, staff helped! One suggestion would be an extra towel hook or towel bar so that friends sharing a room would have a personal space to identify their own towel sets. Overall the stay was excellent. The front desk staff were outstanding! The breakfast could use an upgrade with healthier options. The staff during the breakfast could use improved assistance.

The hospitality of the staff was exceptional, kindness, professionalism, response time and accommodating. The room was clean. The continental breakfast could be improved by adding a few healthier options e.g. granola, fresh fruit-apples, oranges etc.

10 across the board. When I say they go above and beyond, the friendliness is top-tier. You're being spoken to no matter how many times you may pass that desk. If you need anything, they are there for you. I've been a Hilton girl for the last ten years, but I forgot what I was missing from Marriott, and I'll be switching back over.

There was a bar with drinks and snack but it wasn't open all the time.

We liked the ability to keep food and medicines at the appropriate temperature in the full size fridge. Spacious room was very comfortable. Staff members were invariably courtious and helpful.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom, King Suite. It was rather small and dark. View was horrible! If you are traveling with kids, the space is very tight! A lot of unnecessary furniture that served very little purpose and took up a lot of space. I would recommend paying extra for a city view but overall the rooms are very small! Breakfast was just okay, however the staff were very friendly and nice! The bartender was not!

Our stay was wonderful! Personnel of the hotel was very helpful and very friendly. It’s not a problem to get extra towels or blanket. Location is also five stars! You can do self parking with in and out privileges . This will be a number one choice for me for my next visit.

There are three elevators for this 27 floor hotel. Two operate off of one call button, during our trip only one worked. The third elevator had its call buttons on the inside of the frame, so if you didn’t know about it, it was never showing up for you. This led to excruciating waits to go up and down. The breakfast are and more specific the coffee station are far too small for such a large hotel. Plus the coffee was like warm puddle water.

Rooms are large and clean. Updated. Staff is excellent. Many restaurants close and and CVS. Walking distance

This is our go-to stop whenever we visit chicago. We find that many of the places we frequent are nearby. It's so easy, you can leave your car in the garage and go. The only drawback or downside is their breakfasts. They could up their game. Otherwise, love the place and will continue to return.

Checked in early by paying a small fee. Really nice and helpful staff. Not too expensive and in a prime location in the city. Also amazing room.

We had the BEST TIME here! PERFECT LOCATION if you’re not renting a car. We walked everywhere and took Ubers when needed to certain museums. Hot breakfast every morning was clutch. The gym was small but great with the equipment it had. Holloway’s bar served delicious cocktails. The front desk staff was super kind and accommodating. (My hairdryer didn’t work and they got me a new one in like 4 minutes!). The kitchen in the room was perfect cause we cooked a couple of meals in the room during our week-long stay. Housekeeping always cleaned out room to a tee every day. And the VIEW. OMG. IT WAS FABULOUS. I will absolutely stay here again. I feel like I struck hotel gold on our first trip to Chicago. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The location is great for many of Chicago's must-see sights. The breakfast has a good variety of options. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I will continue to choose this location for my Chicago stays.

The room itself was ok. When we pulled the pull out couch out for a bed, we found chip crumbs, garbage, and a balloon in it. It was as though housekeeping did not even clean it. The sheet to sleep on was ripped, so we couldn't use the sheet. The shower floor had hair all over it and we didn't use it yet. House keeping was really loud in the morning cleaning while we were trying to sleep. The staff was really nice to try to solve the issue. We did not request a room change since it was already 1:30 am and we had already unpacked everything. The pull out couch did not pull out into a bed without US rearranging the whole living room area. We were offered some money back, but because we paid with Affirm, there was nothing they could do. We were offered snacks or hotel points instead of money back. We don't use Marriott hotels often, so we didn't take the points. We did get a bottle of wine, but we feel that wasn't a very good offer for what we went through. My daughter did not get much sleep and felt disgusted sleeping on that pullout couch.

Perfect location, clean, big and comfortable room. Close to downtown attractions. Standard US breakfast (don’t expect European, which is much highway), but good to experience the difftence. For sur will stay again here next time.

Not what was expected of a Marriott

The staff were excellent - very charming and welcoming to have them walk you to the elevators on arrival. I was a bit disappointed with the Holloway however - was asked to order a drink before then being told that food was close to an hour wait - not sure it would be so slow and take so long on a Thursday night. Little things could go along way as well - put your coffee cups on the right side of the coffee machine so that one person can be pouring their cup while another is adding their creamer etc. and offering more than caffeinated tea in the lobby. Otherwise a pretty good place with good views, decent gym and laundry right in the hotel. Would stay again.

I suggest you to add more variety to the breakfast options, or add a menu where you can order extra omelette, Scrambled or something if you don't like what's on the menu, paying extra of course.

The only issue was the restaurant of the hotel, the service was terrible, after 45 minutes waiting for the order, the person in charge came and said to me what was your order? Disrespectful.

While my room’s bathroom toilet was not fully functioning, after reporting it, it was quickly attended to and fixed. Staff very kind and the location was perfect. Highly recommend.

The hotel has a restaurant on site and after traveling and being at the airport half a day that was very convenient. Hotel staff was great and very helpful. Bedroom was spacious and very clean (I am very picky with cleanliness) Location is great too.

This place was amazing! The staff were so nice and helpful. They were like personal assistants at your beck and call. They were so great! The location was accessible to everything. There are so many places to dine and all within walking distance. My new favorite are these extended stays because they are so spacious, love that!

My room was like a cave and I had no cellphone service in it. I paid for a “city view” but was directly facing a parking garage. The window was so filthy you could barely see out of it anyway. I’ll never stay here again.

Had a great 4 day stay. The hotel is central to everything we wanted to see, a short easy walk to the subway, has tons of restaurants. We always felt safe walking at night in this area. The hotel was clean and quiet. The only thing that was a bit of a clunker was that the hotel is on the second floor, so every time you walk in, there’s a wait for an elevator (only one was working) with tons of people lined up. We ended up taking the stairs every time. Other than that very minor observation, it was a great stay. Would definitely stay there the next time we visit Chicago.

We stayed a week here in Chicago. We had a one separate bedroom suite. Everything was perfect--very spacous, clean and bright. The breakfast buffet was great, saved time and money. The hot foods changed daily. Plenty of other choices. PERFECT LOCATION for transportation, things to do and restaurants--also a very safe area. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

I came into town on the train and it was an easy walk from Union Station and im 70. It's near Lou Malnatis...awesome pizza! My room was excellent and the breakfast buffet was good.

The room had a musty smell as if the filter of ac needed to be replaced. Parking is ridiculously priced.

For being in the heart of the River North District it was very quiet in the hotel and clean. The lobby needs some modernization as to the elevators. The staff was friendly enough, but not exceptional. Beds were excellent, bathrooms and shower pressure were excellent. For a hotel breakfast they had a good one. The bar is a little sad, but it does work for the business traveler. Lots of room in the main lobby For office work. Parking is valet for $10 more than South Park and both are very expensive so you might as well valet. Overall, a great stay for Chicago.

Property itself was pretty decent and standard. Nothing great but nothing bad. It was the location that made it a great choice. Anything and everything you could ever want to see, eat, or do was within a 20 minute walk max. Lower floors got very loud because of city traffic, and breakfast was nice to have as an option but nothing great.

We will come back to this hotel. Very friendly, clean, the continental breakfast was good. I can’t wait to bring my kids here.

They held our baggage for us before and after check in which was very convenient as we had early flight in and late flight out well passed check in time. The room was nice and clean. Appreciated that the kitchen in our room had supplies. Bed was comfy. I would definitely stay here again!

The city views from this hotel are great. Valet parking is the way to go. We were able to leave our luggage while we went to a tour after checking out. Very helpful for them to have that service as parking in Chicago can be challenging. Soooo many bar and restaurant options in walking distance.

My friends and I enjoyed everything at this hotel. The breakfast was good and kept well stocked. The suite was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We did not have housekeeping the entire 4 day stay even though we request just one. I even went to lobby to request it again after 3rd day because we really needed towels. They sent up towels only which we were thankful for-but they smelled terrible like mold. THe room smelled like stale smoke and the shower dripped on the metal plate all night. Parking is convenient attached to the building but one elevator was out of order so took forever to get to your car.

My only 2 issues were that there were several black in color long hairs in the bathroom (I'm blonde lol), & the sink & toilet/shower, are separated in basically every room lol, we asked. That one could just be us having a preference lol...OH! Also a bummer, or freezer didn't make ice per it should, & there's no ice machine, but I didn't call down to enquire either... Full size fridge, 2 burners, actual dishes...comfy bed & extra pillows always. Travel safe!

The room was a little different than what i imagined it would be. We got a king bed with a sofa couch. Walking in is the small kitchen and then the couch, once i turned was the king bed literally. I thought we would have some kind of space between those. It was a little weird to the design but not bad. What was definitely weird designed was the restroom it was a walk in restroom like literally once you use the toilet you can walk to shower 😅, but the only bad thing i didn't like was how the water flows, it will flow all down out the restroom to the sink. My opinion is they should make a barrier even a small one to stop the flow out.

Property is central making leaving your car at check in on a busy street. Valet staff are not patient but front staff are welcoming. Rooms are crusty but for a quick over night stay that allows dogs and has garage parking the hotel is just fine.

Wonderful location. We felt very safe. The breakfast was good. The rooms are great. Beds are comfortable. The kitchenette was perfect. It is within walking distance of pretty much everything.

Nice hotel with free breakfast. Could walk to everything. Bed very comfortable. Carpet was wet & it caused the room to have a musty odor. Room was available early but we could only check in early if we paid an extra fee.

Excellent loca

We were given a nice corner room with a great view and in a great location. Everything was very clean, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing area for improvement was the water pressure in the shower, which was on the low side. Also sirens and loud motorcycles can be a bit loud in the downtown area in general at night. Otherwise had a great stay!

Hotel was clean, no bugs. Flooring needs updating, carpets are dirty and that cannot be fixed unless they're just pulled up. Bathroom exhaust fan and handheld shower head in our room didn't work, but everything else was fine.

This is the perfect location and it will be out "go-to" for future visits. The hotel sits just a block from the River Walk, great dining options, and entertainment. The dine-in movie theater, shopping, and public transportation is within walking distance. It was safe and convenient!

Very clean hotel; we received a spacious room with a nice city view. Hotel is close to Magnificent mile and other Michigan avenue shops. Breakfast was good too with vegetarian options. Would love to stay here again.

I like that it has a separate area for sleeping with a door. We are traveling with our daughter and a friend and it is hard to find a suite for 4 people that has a separate sleeping area. I wish the bathroom was in the middle of the area instead of in the sleeping area for easier access to those sleeping on the pull out. Nice property overall in good location.

We chose this hotel for its spacious family-friendly suites, and the layout did not disappoint. The separate living area with a sofa bed and a small but well-equipped kitchen (big fridge, small stove, microwave, and dishwasher) made our stay much more comfortable. However, we were surprised to find the pull-out couch wasn’t made, and there were no extra pillows provided for it. I had to make the bed myself, which wasn’t ideal after a long day. Additionally, although we booked for four guests, only three towels were in the room. Housekeeping is only provided every other day if your stay is longer than three nights. I requested a comforter and extra pillows that never arrived, which was disappointing. Breakfast was complimentary and had a good variety, and the staff working there were friendly. Unfortunately, the breakfast area was overcrowded every morning, forcing many guests (including us) to eat in the lobby due to lack of seating. Our room had zero view — it faced a parking garage, making the space feel dark even during the day. check-out was tough: since we were on a lower floor, the elevators were always full, and after waiting 20 minutes without success we took the stairs.
