Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the excellent service, cleanliness, and convenient location, but expressing concerns about the stained carpet, shabby exterior, narrow parking lot, and lack of individual thermostats in rooms. Despite these issues, many guests find the hotel to be good value for money.
- Excellent service by the front desk
- Convenient location in the middle of everything
- Stains on the carpet and shabby exterior
- Narrow and overcrowded parking lot

Having parking right on the property was nice to not have to worry about having to find parking elsewhere. The room was very clean. The central location was great for being able to easily hop on a train to get anywhere.

I have stayed here a couple times for family visits in the area. The hotel is basic and has all the amenities necessary - parking, hair dryers, frig, etc and the room is clean and well attended to. Nothing in Chicago is inexpensive at this time of the year - just enjoy your stay

The motel is in a great spot in River North. Easy access to most things you would want to see and do in Chicago. The rooms have been nicely redone with nice furnishings and modern bathrooms. The motel itself is located on two busy roads, so there is a lot of just general city noise. When I checked in, I was given what I suspect is the worst room in the motel (avoid the F block). My room was about 12 feet from traffic on the ground floor between two stoplights. The traffic noise is 24/7, you almost feel like you are staying in the median....even with earplugs and a sedative, I was jarred awake two to three times each night. The barred window faced an alley and a brick building. I believe I was assigned this room because I booked through Orbitz rather than on their site (which was $400 more for my three-night stay), but I'm not certain. In the end, the location is good, the rooms are nice, but if you are at all a light sleeper, I would spend a few extra bucks to pick another spot -- there are tons of hotels in that general area.

Sirens, music, and people yelling in the street was loud and all night, made it hard to sleep. Request a room away from La salle. No in suite temp controls which made the pot smell from another guest travel through the vents and constantly fill our room.

Excellent location, friendly staff, nice room and a great value.

Clean room, friendly staff and it is close to everything you need to visit at chicago.

My friend told me that he saw a cockroach in the bathroom, and the other thing was the air conditioning, it was working fine but around 1am it didn't work and it was hot in the room.

I did enjoy the stay! Nice place and convenient place with a 50s touch, nice people, clean, well equipped, reasonable pricing (compared to others), well located, good connections, nice jewish snack... Will recommend it and hope to come back once...

Just stayed this past weekend and couldn’t be more pleased! The rooms were clean and renovated. The location is excellent. Five minute walk to the train station, tons of shops and restaurants nearby. Will be staying here again next time we visit Chicago!

No breakfast included if you book with Expedia. Rats in the parking lot. No control for air/heat in the room. You have to pay $50 to use their parking lot. None of this mentioned on Expedia for parking or breakfast. Reimburse me.
- 4/5
Basic old school motel with parking squeezed in downtown. Good condition and clean. Definitely a city vibe and you are not in a secluded high rise with door security. Keep that in mind.

It was everything I needed as a solo traveler. The public spaces weren't the cleanest, but the room was clean.
- 5/5
The staff were extremely friendly and they even went out their way to be helpful. I really like the aesthetics of this motel as it remains unchanged from the outside and for me that adds charm and character and stands out from all the sky scrappers in Chicago. The outside may be seem old but inside has a modern finish and very clean room with plenty of facilities like a iron, microwave and fridge which were very handy. I would definitely recommend staying here as it good value for money, location is great for downtown Chicago, plenty of food options so close by and had a pleasant stay.

Location is pretty great in the River north area. Close to lots of restaurants and just a short walk from the train. the room was spacious and clean as well! Outside of the room in the hallways there's not much soundproofing so the echo from converstations and doors was a little loud. not too bad though.

The ceiling was very loud squeaking once people arrived at 1:30am to party. Sounded like they were jumping, running and dropping things most of the night till about 7:30am. Why the floor made such a loud noise needs to be looked into(above D112).

Room was modern and equipped with both a fridge and microwave. Location is near a lot of bars, restaurants and a target for all your needs. Bed and bathroom were very clean upon arrival. Parking costs $39 per night and the spaces are very very tight. The door to scan with your key card into the building does not shut all the way unless you stand there and pull it. Therefore, someone without a key card can sneak into the building.
- 4/5
We loved the location, it was walking distance from a lot of shops! Great view! It was so annoying we had to pay $100 just for parking at the building. It is ridiculous parking is not included in the stay.

Parking was tight but overall felt safe leaving my car parked there. I believe it was around $32-40 for parking. The only thing I didn’t like is how we had to wait for the person working the front desk to get back. She ended up having a line of people waiting. Rooms were clean.

Our stay was amazing even though it was a short trip. It was perfect walking distance for us. We walked to the navy pier, the bean, sky tilt and my favorite of all the Harry Potter shop. Weather was beautiful. The room was perfect, the staff was funny and kind. Will definitely book again.
- 4/5
I loved that convenience of this motel, right in the heart of Chicago. The only drawback is that you can't adjust the aircon in the rooms as it's centrally controlled. My room was very cold so I had to close the vents. I mentioned it to the staff and they said they're working to create individually controlled units. Otherwise, an excellent stay and highly recommended.

Very disappointed with my stay. The parking fee for 2 nights was $133, which felt extremely unreasonable. When I arrived, the room smelled like someone had urinated in it. On top of that, there was no control for the AC inside the room, and it wasn’t even turned on. The room was so hot it made it hard to breathe and very uncomfortable to sleep. Definitely not worth the price or the experience.
- 5/5

Biggest drawback is light and noise at night. Bring aluminum foil to black out windows as well as earplugs. Also water pressure is poor so don’t expect a satisfying shower
- 4/5
Great location. Friendly staff. Loud city.
- 1/5
Parking lot was $66 a night to park even if you have a room at the hotel
- 5/5
Clean and friendly staff
- 4/5
One thing to note is no thermostat in the room - apparently controlled centrally by " the front desk" - so you need to call them to adjust room temperature. That said, hotel is a good value - plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance, and a target w food and Starbucks literally next door.
- 5/5
Staff is great
- 4/5
Really relieved stay. Parking fee per day..but staff was nice enough for us to park till 1 pm.
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay! Great location , excellent service and super clean rooms!
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and the location was perfectly placed downtown. Easy to get anywhere in the city we were going.
- 4/5
It was SO loud. The walls are paper thin or we just were put next to a rowdy group. From 2am until 9am, doors were slammed, people were yelling in your hallway. Plus you can’t adjust the AC/heat. Also, I’m pending two charges that I need to call about.

- 5/5
Could not control room temperature however I opened a window and it ended up working out great
- 3/5
Hair on the sheets when i got there. Weird smell in the hall. Noisy as noisy can be. Absolutely no filter of noise from the street, which it is right on a main street.
- 5/5
Finding this place felt like a bit of an anomaly. Easiest and cheapest parking possible, and in walking distance of tons of stuff to do. The staff was incredibly courteous and helpful with any questions I had. The room was very spacious, even compared to the big name hotel chains. My single and only issue is that you can hear basically everything that happens outside of the immediate area of your room. I understand that its Chicago but hearing every door slam and conversation in and around the hotel was a bit much when trying to sleep (luckily I remembered to pack earplugs). That said, I'd still absolutely come back and stay again. This place was exceptional, especially for the price.
- 5/5
Great location, friendly staff
- 4/5
Only complaint was that the neighboring room had an issue that required immediate construction in the early morning when I was trying to sleep. But the staff quickly worked to accommodate me and solve the problem, I was satisfied with their customer service and professionalism.
- 4/5
2nd time staying this month. l chose this place again because of it’s cleanliness, great location and convenient parking. My only complaints are that the walls are thin, no elevator, And there’s no temperature controls in the room. So you’ll hear everything if you don’t wear earplugs and you have to ask staff to adjust room temperature, open window or just deal with the temperature they set. Aside from those things, I enjoyed my stay here both times this month and the staff has always been friendly and professional with me.
- 5/5
AC was nice and warm for the chilly weather outside
- 5/5
The staff was very pleasant and the place was clean. Central location. The temperature was the only issue. It was near single digit weather outside and the room stayed cold. The staff was nice about addressing the issue but to no avail. We had to turn on the hot water in the shower for heat.

Location and parking are the best in town! Can’t think of anything!
- 5/5
The location was with in walking distance to the places we wanted to go to. There wasn’t any coffee creamer or sugar in the rooms.
- 3/5
It is clean. The door of the bathroom could not be closed. Noise in the night. Very expensive for parking. They charge me $37.48 for one night parking. It is very easy to find a garage parking from $10-14 a night in the downtown.
- 4/5
Excellent staff; Clean facilities. Good value
- 5/5
Everything was clean and was nicer than expected! Air conditioning was centrally located for our room right above the check in lobby, however the staff were more than happy to adjust it to our liking for us.
- 5/5
Stayed a bunch of times. Great location, great price. The manager even found us a new battery for our car key fob when ours died as we were leaving. It can be a little noisy, but I’ve stayed at other spots in the loop and guests have been noisy there as well.
- 4/5
Very clean and excellent location Unable to control temperature in the room. It was unseasonably warm. Started charging for parking.
- 5/5
Target right outside as well as the bus stop to the union station is within a minute from the hotel. The bus takes 15 minutes to go to the station. Very conveniently located.
- 3/5
Good location but noisy. A/C was not running so the room was very hot. There was no way of controlling g the room’s temperature.
- 5/5
👍
- 5/5
Maybe I’m exaggerating a little, maybe it isn’t empirically accurate, and I only stayed one night here, but my experience of the room made me feel that it was better than most 4 star hotels I’ve stayed at. The room was super neat and clean, stocked with all toiletries, coffee/tea (sure it was just a keurig, and some 4 star hotels do have nespresso, but it did the job well), huge bed, big windows, smooth check-in, no complaints at all. Sure there’s a parking fee, but in my limited experience of Chicago downtown, these parking prices are hard to beat in that area for anything outside of street parking which can be hard to get.
- 5/5
This was our second time staying in only a couple weeks. Staff was amazing, Rooms were clean. Parking was perfect. We were in town for concerts. It was a perfect middle ground. Easy to grab an uber. Would highly recommend and we will be staying again next time we are in town.

The rooms do not have deep tubs as advertised. I was told they removed all of them for standing showers - I booked it because I wanted a tub. Additionally, I found disgusting dirty underwear behind the curtain when I went to open them. I did let the office know about the underwear and they just apologized. Also, I tried to use the locking safe in the room but it wouldn’t work because it said it had a low battery. Oh, I almost forgot, they charge about $40 on top of your booking for parking. What kind of backwards policy is that? The have their own parking lot but charge you to use it. Overall, I would not stay here again due to high price and low quality. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
- 5/5

- 4/5

Not enough staffing for help, amenities were a hit and miss, there were stains in the bathroom in different area and just overall could have been better customer service.

Staff, cleanliness, perfect location.
- 5/5
Exactly as advertised, cute place, great location.
- 1/5
Would never recommend anyone to stay here. Charged me 150$ for the deposit. Kicked me out of my room at 6am claiming I’m loud and that they’re calling the police to have me escorted off the property if I don’t leave. Which I was complying but kept threatening me as I’m leaving and it was 10 degrees outside. Had to wait for an uber in that weather also. Worse hotel experience ever in Chicago that I experienced. Don’t waste your time with it.
- 5/5

Don’t stay here if you want to get any sleep. The room was surprisingly clean and comfy but the walls are paper thin. The room next to us was up partying until 5am so we got no sleep/ house cleaning was incredibly loud starting at 9am. The door constantly slamming shut is also loud. You can’t control the room temperature. Front desk attendant was nice but I would not stay here again.
- 5/5
The room has set temperature and cannot be changed within the room but other than that it was a good experience.
- 5/5
Room was clean. Temperature was a little too warm and we couldn’t find the thermostat.
- 3/5
The office controls your room temp, it is a thermostat in a locked box in the hall. No fan, no air. Just stuffy, caged windows, very friendly &clean. Use for a night's rest but please know there is not a balcony on the king suite that sits on a very busy intersection in the city. This is not a peaceful stay is for me of a night life stay!
- 2/5
Breakfast that was listed a free breakfast when we booked on Expedia was not in fact because we booked wirh expedia, that is rhe first time we have not been able to get the free breakfast when it said it. We actually filter our chiices that way for a reason since we are traveling and already paying.
- 4/5
However, it's a bit ridiculous that the motel, which we already paid a high price for, sent an email informing us that parking was paid, I paid a lot for parking lot. Must be free for customers.

Clean, Nicely Furnished, and central to town, Priced right but note if you are driving there is a charge to park - though reasonable for an inner city lot and secure,The Staff was awesome - Have a Good Night !
- 5/5
What’s great little find. We frequent Chicago one very regular basis and this was by far the most friendly and cleanest establishment we have stayed at since COVID. Bravo. Only draw back is no pets. Other than that I couldn’t find anything to complain about. Quiet. Oh you can’t control your temperature. It got a little toasty at night but some trade offs.

Excellent service from the concierge/front desk, and not as loud as we expected given the location (some street noise but I could be worse!). The room was also very clean.
- 5/5
Clean and great location
- 2/5
The room was clean but extremely hot. We couldn’t sleep after a very long day of moving. I had to call the front desk twice and the second time they turned the air on but it turned off pretty soon after. Each room should have control of its AC, that’s pretty standard in a hotel. Also, the front desks answer was to 1) close the vent to prevent hot air which was 10 feet off the ground or 2) open the window. We had to close the windows because someone was screaming under it for 10 minutes straight and constant ambulance and fire trucks passing. I’m aware of the location, downtown is busy, that’s fine, but it was extremely inconvenient and not a solution. The noise was so much we opted to sleeping in the heat. I woke up in a pool of sweat. I honestly want to charge back. The cherry on top was housekeeping knocking on the door at 10AM. Checkout is 11AM. She asked if we were extending since we weren’t out yet. I told her no, and went back to sleep for 20 minutes just exhausted. Wouldn’t stay again. Staff was friendly but this wasn’t what I expected.

My wife and I had to make an emergency trip to Chicago. This motel was the most reasonably priced in the area we needed to be. The staff was pleasant. The room was clean. The bed was good enough. All in all it was a good experience. The only negative is that they charge $50 per night for parking.
- 4/5
The room was clean and had the necessities. The only complaint I had was that your can’t control the thermostat, which luckily it was a good temperature but there was one night that was really cold and couldn’t adjust it. The bathroom is really small. But other than that it was a great stay.
- 5/5
My room was spotless. Great location - walking distance to all the sights in downtown Chicago. Will definitely come back! Thank you!
- 5/5
Great room, very clean. Secure entry into the building and unit. Parking is available on property. Instructions for the tv outdated and include directions to use cable box. None in the room. It would be good to have a local channel or two. Great historical place to stay in central Chicago.
- 5/5
Limpio, remodelado. La Ubicación genial y el estacionamiento Super cómodo para viaje con niño.
- 4/5
Clean rooms! The walls are really thin. You can hear the TV next door very easily. After I made the reservation I received an email that parking would be 40.00, go to check in and she said it was going to be 50.00. We got it all figured out, the check in lady was VERY nice. Heads up on the parking fee.
- 4/5
Clean room, accommodative staff
- 5/5
Stayed here for three nights. If you don’t mind hearing people in the hallways going into their room, you’ll enjoy it. It’s not often, and once they’re in their room you don’t hear them anymore. Totally worth the price. Small but nice!! Awesome location!! Easy parking.
- 4/5
Parking was safe and easy, but having to drag the suitcase up the 2nd floor could be a challenge
- 5/5
The staff was very pleasant.
- 3/5
The area is nice. The staff is really good. But it is extremely noisy. Every time another resident opens or closes their door you can hear it. You can hear conversations from other rooms.
- 5/5
This hotel is in an ideal location, you can basically walk to anywhere downtown Chicago. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Price is very reasonable. Room has everything: safe, regrigerator, microwave, TV. Stronly recommend to stay here if you are looking for a cost effective and comfortable hotel.

I was not informed of Continental breakfast, I didn’t remember it from booking, and this certainly was not brought up at check in. I booked a king room, they put me in a room over the office. I had to climb a dark creepy staircase, to a room with a moldy smelly bathroom. I immediately asked management to move me and was told I couldn’t. The mini fridge and microwave weren’t plugged in and I had to move a heavy piece of furniture for them to reach the outlet. There is no temperature control and so I had to ask for heat multiple times. The heat comes on at about 80 degrees for 10 minutes so you just about can’t breathe and shuts off for another 50 until you freeze. This was the worse stay I’ve ever had anywhere.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay there
- 3/5
Our room was at the ground floor just by the entrance door. VERY noisy. Could hear every word said in the hallway and woke up by the door slamming. We could also hear the people moving around upstairs. Would never stay in this room again.
- 5/5
Perfect for a quick business meeting close by. Nothing fancy, maximum convenience.
- 4/5
No breakfast provided
- 5/5
There is nothing bad to write about this property. The only thing I would advise the next person of is the $50 parking fee and the $125 incidental charge that will be needed before you can get a key to the to the living room.
- 5/5
Properly was clean and team was outstanding. Exceeded my expectations will stay again
- 4/5
Smooth reservation and without issues. Room very clean and with all necessities. Air conditioner needs to be adjusted per room as every guess as a different need. Staff was excellent and assisted as needed. Other than that, great Experience.
- 4/5
Convenient location, comfortable beds, thin walls--bring ear plugs! Other guests were constantly slamming interior & exterior doors. No climate control in the rooms--you have to tell the front desk people if you need adjustments. Millary was particularly helpful and very nice.
- 5/5
Had a great experience. This was my first time staying overnight in the city
- 4/5
Convenient safe parking. Friendly staff. Simple affordable rooms. Perfect place to stay for the Chicago Marathon. On the course and very close to the start.
- 5/5
Great location. Good value.
- 5/5
Great room and location for the price. My only complaint was that the room was very cold, and there was no thermostat in the room.
- 5/5
Right in the middle of the downtown loop. Newly renovated inside and out. Staff is very helpful and friendly. While there are no amenities like a pool etc. There is parking, coffee. Great value
- 5/5
Great stuff
- 4/5
The facility was clean and close to lots of good restaurants. Check in took a while because the office is tiny, and there was only one staff working.
- 5/5
Very pleasant
- 5/5
Great location.
- 3/5
It’s pretty loud. The road outside is loud and so are the doors in the hallway. The price was great for the area it was in. Room is pretty old as dated but it seemed pretty clean. Had to wait half an hour in the middle of the day to find someone to check us in. Very meh experience!
- 5/5
Staff was excellent and accommodating us for early check in was fabulous. The quality and service were outstanding.
- 5/5
This was a great hotel for visiting Chicago with a car. There was ample secure parking and the location was super convenient for seeing the downtown sites. Deli onsite was a big plus, and the room was clean and spacious. Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Right in town walkable distance to everything
- 2/5
Could hear everyone in the whole unit and room was very hot and was no thermostat in the room. We had to call the front desk and she came and had to do it with the key because whole unit of rooms on the same thermostat didn’t like that
- 5/5
Fantastic accommodations with so many dining options just a few minutes walk away. Staff were friendly. The only issue was that I left some items in my room. I’ve been trying to coordinate having them shipped back to me, but nobody is responding to my email 😣
- 5/5
Everything is clean and fresh i like and i come bac
- 5/5
Can’t beat it for the price and convenient location. Will be back.
- 5/5
Nice place
- 5/5
Close to restaurants and walking distances to other locations
- 4/5
Stayed here several times. Very good location! The room is good and clean and safe! Walls are paper thin and there is no thermaor
- 5/5
Great hotel! Still has vintage feel!
- 5/5
Great find! Perfect location at a great price. Some wear and tear in the room as to be expected at an older property but overall we had a good experience and would stay again.
- 4/5
Close to everything.
- 5/5
Excellent value for your money compared to the chain hotels less than a block away!
- 3/5
Like the location and rooms were kind of retro with fridge and microwave. Basic tv and relatively comfortable bed. Bathroom clean and newer. Liked the little balcony. I have a big issue with not being able to control room temperature. Probably won’t stay here again because of this . Locked thermostat in hallway for multiple rooms. Has windows open but was hot and muggy making sleeping uncomfortable.
- 4/5
Great location & clean rooms. A little noisy
- 3/5
I booked through Expedia, i paid $214 i get to Ohio house to check-in and have to pay another $125. Nowhere did it say anything about paying all this money, the lady at the front desk stated i gave you paying $164
- 5/5
Very convenient location with good parking. Comfortable rooms with all necessary inclusions. Deli next door is very good for breakfast and coffee.
- 5/5
Great location and loved there was a parking option so close to the rooms. So close to walk to most places
- 5/5
Really liked out time there except when the ice machine wasn’t accesible because the front desk was gone for long periods of time
- 3/5
It is very noisy in the morning. Lots of door slamming. It’s a great place if you’re only staying a couple nights and you don’t like sleeping in.
- 1/5
Very noisy neighbors, was not able to adjust temperature in the room, no counter space on the restroom
- 5/5
Nothing special but was overall solid for the price. Had a very nice, central location in the city. Right on the other side of the “front office” was an awesome little deli that was super great and convenient for breakfast in the city.
- 5/5
The convenience of the Ohio House is unmatched. It's the perfect spot for a trip to Chicago!
- 5/5
It should be stated — if it was, I did not see it — there is a $125 incidental hold placed on your card at the time of check-in.
- 4/5
The room was crazy clean. Room is also very small…but that is ok. The only iss
- 5/5
I’m calling the Ohio House Motel the hidden gem of Chicago! Excellent location to walk to many of the tourist attractions. The room was incredibly clean, beds comfortable and the best hotel shower I’ve experienced. The front staff were incredible and so friendly. I will return the next time I’m i. Chicago.
- 5/5
The room was comfortable and clean. Staff were very helpful
- 5/5
Awesome place to stay.
- 3/5
It was super loud late at night (sirens and motorcycle revving until 2am both nights we were there) and freezing cold. Our second night there i asked if they could turn the AC down (no thermostats in the rooms) and they did, which helped.
- 5/5
Wonderful location, clean rooms, great staff
- 4/5
First off, this place was recommended by a friend who has been staying FOR YEARS due to its location to his kids' college and for the free parking. Then, immediately after booking, I received an email back in May that as of Jan 1, 2025, the location would be charging $39 PER NIGHT for parking. This made the cost (which had been cheaper) 25 dollars MORE per night than our second choice motel. However, our friends had been talking up Ohio House for over a year, so we decided to eat the loss. However, even though the room was nice enough and the staff were super friendly and helpful, the bed was not comfy enough to allow me to sleep well as we had no control of our thermostat. I was SO HOT (not unusual for me, but my husband, who is never hot, also complained that the heat kept him from sleeping well.) For reference, i sleep with thy thermostat at 78 at home with a ceiling fan, but usually 68 in motel rooms with no ceiling fan. The traffic noise (no mufflers required in Chicago???) Kept me awake the first night. The second night I used a sound maker which helped considerably. The only room was on the 2nd floor, which is fine for us, if a little tricky to climb stairs with rolling suitcases. However the floor was super creaky, and I felt SO BADLY for the people who were surely trying to sleep below us a we are up by 5 to leave for long 14 hour cross country drives. I absolutely could not sleep here again without a fan. FYI: from Phx and we were cold ALL DAY in the city.
- 5/5
Staff was very patient and helpful when we had issues checking in. Room was clean and tidy, facilities were well-kept. The parking area is somewhat small, but nice and free of trash. The water pressure could have been better, but since that was my only real nitpick this was an overall very pleasant stay.
- 3/5
Staff was great, room was nice. Noise was excessive; street noise was expected given the location, but there was also constant banging of doors through the night. There is no temperature control in the rooms, which for me was kept too cold during the day, then shuts off at night and was too warm when we tried to sleep. Likely won’t stay again
- 4/5
Great location and greet they offer for parking.
- 5/5
Very centric motel to everything nearby. Room was a lot smaller than expected but it did the job! Would def come back.
- 4/5
I wish the walls weren't so thin. the area where we stayed there was a group of drinkers that were super loud coming in and out. so it was extremely hard to sleep during that but other than that it was a great place. also maybe make smoking areas. when we showed up we were told we could smoke by our car or in the parking lot and later on when I went out to smoke with my sister we were told we couldn't smoke in the parking lot. so maybe they should make 2 designated smoking areas one at one end and one on the other.
- 5/5
Not sure what to expect of a motel but it could not have been better! Great location! Clean! The only complaint was there were kids making lot of noise and slamming doors in the morning. I would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
Cons: the price of parking. A great option to stay in Chicago if you have a car.
- 5/5
Paulina and Millaray are fantastic! They deserve a huge raise and a bonus. Beyond excellent customer service they are the reason i am going to come back to this property.
- 5/5
This place was perfect for what we needed. great walking distance from a lot of stuff, but super close to a train station. the rooms were a decent size and on site parking was a treat :)
- 5/5
Super convenient and nice area. Straight walk to Wrigley Field (4 miles but we enjoyed the walks). Very affordable and has a great staff.
- 5/5
Everyone was nice and a great location
- 5/5
It was really simple.
- 4/5
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the only issue I encountered was the inability to control the room temperature, which was a bit of a problem for me.
- 5/5
Excellent place
- 5/5
It was very clean and restful.
- 5/5
Will stay there again if we visit chicago
- 4/5
Not what I expected but that’s on me for not exploring the site more. More of a motel type situation but perfectly fine. Mostly younger guests with backpacks! All good though.
- 5/5
This is the Little Engine That Could. They work hard to provide a quality product. Excellent from top to bottom.
- 5/5
It was my adult children that stayed there. They were there for a concert. Theybsaid everything was clean and nice. They would definitely stay there again. The only thing that was disappointing was the fact that they dont tell you about the deposit that you have to give them. That should be specified on the website.
- 5/5
Great service. Comfortable room
- 1/5
Central Air and Heat is controlled by floor as opposed to by room. I FROZE. There were stains on the sheets.
- 4/5
I liked the layout of the building and the 70’s vibe. Beds were comfy. Balcony was nice. Amenities could have been explained by staff. But staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Staff was nice and friendly, easy to find close to many restaurants, shops, downtown
- 4/5
It was clean and safe but there wasn't an ice machine even though we had a bucket. They had a pamphlet of things to do that expired in June when we went in July. The overall experience was fun and the room was great.
- 5/5
Ohio House was a great stay! The staff were wonderful and very helpful with dining suggestions. The room was clean, comfortable, and even made up during the day—a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was included, which was convenient. It can be a little noisy, but overall, I’d definitely recommend it for a stay in Chicago’s River North area.
- 5/5
Staf was nice & very helpful to us about the train and local transportation
- 4/5
Friendly and helpful staff. Room was just what we needed for a trip that was mainly walking around the city and doing things downtown.
- 4/5
Everything was fine, and I enjoyed my stay although I thought $50.00 for overnight parking was a bit steep. The room was fine but lacked any way to adjust the heating and cooling. All hotels now seem to have adopted these terrible, non-functional room coffee makers.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, staff is friendly. If you need a place to stay in the downtown.
- 5/5
I had a great time nice cool chill room relaxing vacation
- 2/5
Noisy from other visitors and street noise. It was also hot in the room and no way to adjust.
- 4/5
Very good location and nice and clean. It appears this classic old motel has had a nice make over. Staff is accommodating. (FYI though. If you hear about a record release party for a hip hop artist nearby, take a pass.)
- 5/5
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to stay in the Chicago area. The rooms are clean and the staff is always welcoming. It's a nice place to stay on the north side of the river.
- 5/5
Great location. Super clean and quiet. Convenient and in a good location. Cozy. I liked that it was small. It's just what you need. Felt like a hidden gem!
- 3/5
Easy check n check out parking expensive clean could use more coffee n rooms was very noise pm
- 5/5
Such a small space but PERFECT!! My bestie and I went for a concert at the Chicago Theater and LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION 10/10. On site parking available and I will definitely go there again for my next trip to Chicago. Price is perfect. Location perfect. Little deli connected to the office has your AM coffe.
- 4/5
Its loud outside
- 1/5
Too much noise and very noisy at night which causes sleep disturbances
- 5/5
Great location, comfortable!
- 5/5
This hotel is a hidden gem. Staff was welcoming. Parking available on site. Quiet! Room was comfortable, clean modern
- 5/5
Not many motels have this type of quality. The room I stayed in was very clean and nice! Staff was great too.
- 5/5
Awesome for a one night stay, would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
We were honestly amazed by how clean our bathroom was.
- 4/5
Overall I had pleasant stay and don't have any complains.
- 5/5
The best hotel in Chicago and I won’t stay anywhere else. Ur car is always visible and easily accessible. The room are clean and air conditioned.
- 5/5
Great location, comfortable and clean rooms, handy parking.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Glad they shut gate to parking lot.
- 5/5
Nice room
- 5/5
Nicely maintained and managed property in middle of downtown.
- 5/5
With the name motel you never know what you'll get. This is a cute property that's located on the north side of the river. Our room was on the lower floor
- 4/5
The staff was amazing and the check in was good, but the room was too cold.z
- 5/5
Excellent experience. Even accommodated to hold my luggage for a late flight. Really appreciate the transparency and cleanliness.
- 3/5
The room was a little hot, staff turned ac up a little but was still not as cool as expecting. The staff were extremely helpful. I liked how easy it was to simply walk out the door and you’re outside, very convenient. And lots to do around the area. Bathroom was also very nice
- 5/5
Great staff! Tip: Bring earplugs to help you sleep as the property is on a busy road.
- 5/5
Rooms were very clean and updated. You can always tell the age of the room, the caulking in the bathroom will be cracked and colored. This room had none of that. It is a bit noisy but that wouldnt keep me from staying here again. Very convient location for touristy stuff.
- 2/5
Only good thing about this property was that it was clean. Other than that parking fee was $50 and the room was so hot and when i complained it is controlled by the staff which i didnt like and still remained hot. Couldnt even spend the night and checked out early
- 5/5
Is pretty big. Only thing you need to keep in mind is that is a busy area so there’s plenty of noice at night.
- 3/5
No way to control AC in your room. It was very stuffy!
- 5/5
Perfect location. Walking distance to a lot of attractions..
