Reviews
The hotel is praised for its central location and comfortable beds, but there are complaints about hidden fees and poor cleaning services. Some guests also mention issues with the pool and hot tub, as well as noise from ambulances due to the proximity to a hospital.

They just didn’t give me my miles when I checked in

Bien en lineas generales, nada fuera de serie, la habitación tenia un buen tamaño, falta una actualización del hotel. El gimnasio muy completo.

While most of the Front staff were friendly and welcoming, the lady who checked me in was borderline obnoxious and should probably watch her "tone." Other than that, my stay was wonderful.

It was convenient and close to all my favorite shopping, malls and eatery

The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are spacious, and, above all, the staff is excellent. They are very dedicated and competent. Only the breakfast could be improved to offer better value for money.

The hotel itself was amazing and the property exceeded expectations. However, the staff came across as somewhat passive-aggressive during our stay, which impacted the overall experience. Additionally, the room was a bit confusing to navigate — particularly when it came to the lighting controls and figuring out how to operate the blinds. With a more intuitive room setup and warmer hospitality, this would have been an even better stay.
- 5/5
The bathroom itself was updated and spacious, but the showers still had shower curtains. Although the curtains seemed new and clean, I personally prefer shower doors.

Very nice hotel in an excellent part of Chicago. Highky recommended.
- 4.5/5
The location was close to Navy Pier, eating spots, river taxis, the overlook and a quick cab ride to the blueline to head back O'hare. A uber is also less than $50 to O'hare. Chicago does nor sleep, no reflection on the Hyatt.

They dont have comp breakfast like other hyatts they mapr you pay like $29 to get $15 off breakfast it's weird

I would have really appreciated if there were a microwave available in our room.
- 3.5/5
The room size was nice. The bed was comfortable. The room was dark and our window faced a brick wall. I believe i asked for a high floor with a view.

This hotel made our stay in Chicago absolute bliss. Perfect location, lots to do, yoga around the corner. We can’t wait to stay here again.

Location and staff were good. The bed was overly firm and the air in the room did not work. When we informed the front desk they simply thanked us for letting them know and they would look into it. For the price of the room this was all quite disappointing without any offer to amend for the challenges.

We stayed two nights with our two kids in an Executive King Suite with a sofa bed. The room was a great size for a family of four and never felt cramped. Front desk staff were excellent, very friendly and quick to help, and brought extra blankets and pillows right away. Parking is valet only at about $80 per night. We used the Erie St. garage a few blocks away for $51, but hauling luggage back and forth isn’t ideal. Room was clean and comfortable with large TVs and very comfortable beds. It is starting to show some age with minor scuffs and wear. The biggest drawback was the bathroom layout. No lock on the sliding door and a tub shower combo felt outdated for a suite. The mini fridge is extremely small, our pizza box would not fit. Pool is small and gets crowded in the evenings, but open until 11 PM. Breakfast is convenient and staff are great, but overpriced for basic options. Area felt very safe, even at night with kids, and everything is easily walkable. Overall, great location and staff. Not quite luxury level due to some dated details, but comfortable and I would stay again.

My room looked clean, but when I opened the refrigerator it had old bacon inside with growing mold.
- 4/5
We paid more for a room with a view. They gave us the top floor, so we were excited. The view wasnt very epic. Wedged in-between other buildings there wasnt much to see really. Plus our room had zero water pressure. So low, it wouldnt hold the shower on. So if you decide to stay, dont paid up.
- 5/5
Great location, clean and updated room and the food was yummy
- 5/5
Super comfy beds. Very clean and helpful staff
- 5/5
Great for families, centrally located, modern rooms
- 5/5
Everything was great, the hot tub could have been cleaner
- 5/5
Restaurant and bar in the building serving breakfast and dinner only. Across the street from northwester medical do ambulance noise can be an issue. Great location-one block off Michigan Mile.
- 4/5
Overall great location for exploring the area. We found the service and amenities to be a little lacking for a 4 star hotel.
- 5/5
We stayed in the suite. Beautiful room well appointed with amenities including a sound machine. Rollaway bed could be a bit comfier but overall, a great stay.
- 4/5
Sirens from local hospital/Ems was somewhat disruptive to sleep. Noise from heavy door closure also disrupting. Overall nice amenities and decent location.
- 1/5
Terrible staff
- 5/5
Love the property location, close proximity to everything! The staff is friendly and the room and hotel is clean. The only thing con I can think of is that it’s right next to the hospital so be aware of sirens if you’re sensitive.
- 5/5
Clean room, very new, excellent stay
- 5/5
Have a meal at the bridges restaurant. Hot tub and pool nice and clean The gym was good also
- 4/5
Great location but be prepared to walk a lot. It’s kind of far from the CTA train stop.
- 5/5
Location, modern, convenient, amenities
- 5/5
Awesome
- 3/5
The main issue is an extra $25 a day that they add to your bill as a kind of "extra amenities charge". I was not expecting this.
- 5/5
All was excellent

I understand check in is a good time to go over everything about the stay, but it would be much more helpful as a guest to shorten the speech at check in and rather

Stayed here one night due to location to hospital. Room was nice enough. My bed was lumpy and my Mom didnt care for hers either. There was an issue with the hair dryer they supplied. Restaurant was not very good and expensive for what is was. Got the cauliflower tacos they were very bland. Our waiter seemed like hed never done this job before. Front desk was unimpressive for check in and check out. I would stay here again ONLY bc of the hospital but would book in advance as anything more than $150 not worth it and will not eat at the restaurant again.
- 5/5
Not hot enough
- 5/5
Very clean hotel. Friendly staff
- 5/5
If staying for access to Lurie Children hospital it’s a great location to walk to hotel to hospital without going outside once as you cross to skywalks. Nice hotel and perfect location.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect for me
- 5/5
Loved the hottub and beautiful room design!
- 5/5
Clean room, great food. The pool was a lot smaller than expected. But the hot tub felt great.
- 3/5
Room was really hot. Wall controls dont work .
- 5/5
Quality lodgings. Friendly staff. Location is great. Nothing to complain about
- 1/5
It’s nice hotel but I do not agree with the prices at all it’s to much tax and fees not just only that I paid all this money to not even get free breakfast in the morning than we have use the 15 dollars in credit off the money with out on hold how are yall making people use there own money the hotel not even have many thing you can do we already have to pay for dinner the dinner not the problem it’s the no free breakfast I will never come back and I will let my people know not to book I was not happy with my stay at all
- 4/5
Room was not ready when we arrived but upgrade was provided. I had to request it and my girlfriend was sick, I explained the issue. Initially I was told I would "get a text" - lol..... I mean I paid for the room and its demanded I leave the time they want. So demanding that I wait was strange. I just think that if the room is supposed to be ready at 3 & we get there 3:40..... An upgrade/discount should be assumed or given. I had to push for it. However, I explained my situation and a solution was provided. There was an ok small restaurant and bar. I imagined/hoped for more. We had no issues, people were polite - felt safe. GREAT LOCATION!
- 5/5
Spotless room and delicious breakfast
- 5/5
Clean room, luxious comfort, enjoued our stay.
- 5/5
Clean room polite and helpful staff
- 5/5
Comfortable beds and quiet room.
- 5/5
The staff was super helpful and kind, not a single complaint there. The room was spotless and was a joy to come back to after a long day at my continuing education class. I would recommend this room/hotel to anyone especially for where it is located if you need to be within walking distance of the hospital/downtown.
- 5/5
Easy check-in/check-out. Room was maintained and staff was friendly.
- 5/5
From bringing us extra pillows right away, to sending a engineer to connect our TV to broadcast from my phone, the staff was super helpful. We stayed an extra night cuz we were having a blast (late bday/early Vday) & we got to stay in our room after buying it through Hotels... Great location, quiet, we had a blast.
- 5/5
Always a solid choice, convienent and clean
- 2/5
There was extra fees and deposits that we were not aware of on top of the other fees we had to pay when we got there. Was not given the handicap accessible rooms i payed for. Gps took us to wrong hyatt because of underdogs.

- 5/5
Everything was fantastic
- 4/5
The room was gorgeous and clean, and the staff was very accommodating and understanding.
- 5/5
Yes, staff was great, hotel was great, the oat meal on the breakfast buffet was the best I have ever had. I crave it. Thank you for making our visit to Chicago wonderful!
- 5/5
The hotel and staff went above and beyond our expectations, provided a complementary wheel chair, extended our check out time, and help by bringing our luggage to the room. Due to weather we stayed to make my husband's early morning heart doctor appointment without having to drive 3 hours in bad weather. We will certainly stay here whenever we have the opportunity again.
- 5/5
Everything was great the staff are super nice and genuine.
- 5/5
Great room - I liked the mid-century modern finishes. I also really enjoyed the fitness center and pool/hot tub.

We had a great stay. The room was wonderful and the Manager, Debbie G. did an outstanding job addressing our needs.

We were satisfied with our room and restaurant. However, the pool and jacuzzi were not clean.

Location was great. Pool, fitness room and room were clean.
- 3/5
Bed was very uncomfortable. Old mattress.
- 5/5
Our first stay here and we were impressed! We used the hot tub daily. The exercise room was extensive. We enjoyed the in room bathrobes and the onsite restaurant. We will be back!
- 5/5
The room was clean, quiet (except for the sirens outside), and we loved the pool/hot tub.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Had a great stay. The thermostat was not properly working in our room, but after notifying the front desk staff, we were promptly moved to another room. Really enjoyed our stay here and will return soon.
- 5/5
All of the above. Location is great too.
- 5/5
The location is fantastic along with the service and quality of food.
- 5/5
All hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, nicely decorated, everything looked new, sheets and towels were high quality. everything worked well. We ate in the restaurant twice and enjoyed the food very much. We went to the bar once and enjoyed talking to the bartenders and watching all three tvs.
- 5/5
AMAZING location!
- 2/5
The Jacuzzi was so dirty that I was about to throw up. Other places were good!
- 5/5
Clean, great linens and pillows, fun lobby to hang out and watch a game
- 5/5
Pretty good staff was friendly
- 5/5
Thanks to the morning staff at the hotel who were just wonderful!
- 5/5
We truly enjoyed the amenities offered by our two spacious adjoining rooms for our Christmas adventures. The rooms provided a nice sized couch and table for us to work and play cards at while we defrosted from our adventures at the Magnificent Mile just one block away. There was also a Keurig and mini fridge. The hotel’s restaurant suggestion for Nora’s Restaurant just a block away was spot on- a real treat. Also the common area lounge had a nice vibe, bar and breakfast. A Starbucks branch was right inside the entrance. We saw many families with kids and there was also a pool we didn’t know about in advance. Highly recommend for a trip to the Magnificent mile. However if you’re planning to spend a lot of time down in the Loop for theater or museums, plan to pay a lot on Ubers (@ $19-33 per trip depending on time). We’d definitely return.
- 5/5
This hotel is directly inside of the hospital compound so you need to understand that you MIGHT hear a slightly quiet siren, but the hotel windows and soundproofing are great. Again, you might hear a siren, but this was NOT an issue on our Friday night stay. The breakfast buffet for $31 including a drink is slightly higher than expected, because it’s a fairly standard spread of Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Potatoes, fruits.. it’s very nice and fresh, but I think $31 is maybe a little high but I also HIGHLY recommend it. The steak and eggs is DYNAMITE and easily one of the best breakfasts and is a KILLER DISH. The Skirt steak was SO amazing. We will be staying here again and if you want walkability and cleanliness this is the spot.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
Very customer oriented and accommodating. Room was vice nice and well taken care of. Hotel staff top notch.
- 5/5
The hot tub, pool and fitness center were fantastic
- 5/5
Perfect location to surrounding area and activities, friendly staff, clean rooms, amazing gym, and delicious food.
- 3/5
Good location
- 2/5
I booked this stay because it was advertised as all fees and taxes included. That was not the case. There was a surprise destination charge and then the hotel would not accept my card for incidentals. Luckily, i was able to get that part figured out. Be more transparen
- 5/5
Only real issue was the $15 hot chocolate/dessert bar. Really? $15 because the Festival of Lights Parade was going on? For what is charged for the stupid "resort" fees, and what the "hot chocolate bar" was, that should have been comped.
- 5/5
The room was outstanding. We reserved a corner room. Very different but the one whole wall was windows overlooking the city. Very nice . The restaurant staff (Karina and Joel) were super attentive and inviting. They hey made us feel totally at home.
- 5/5
beautiful room boring pool loved the spongy chairs by the pool tho
- 5/5
Best location you can get.
- 5/5

It was nice. Located nicely to Michigan ave.
- 5/5
It was amazing.

The room was fresh view was amazing
- 5/5
The hotel lobby is very chic and relaxing. The restaurant food was delicious. The rooms were very clean and chic. The staff was very accommodating from the front desk staff, to the guest service staff. I will definitely book this hotel again. 100% satisfaction!! Book this hotel now!! You will love it.
- 4/5
Clean room very pleasant workers in housekeeping
- 5/5
Clean room, great central location and the pool and hot tub are outstanding.
- 5/5
Great location, clean room. I will say they might have the worst pillows I have ever used in my life. That is my only complaint though.
- 5/5
Great
- 2/5
Beware of the destination fee they charge your credit card. You get nothing in return.
- 1/5
Staff was not helpful at all
- 1/5
No room service throughout my stay. Rude staffs. Never again.
- 5/5
This hotel was absolutely amazing . It was clean spacious and very upscale for this price point ! Accessible to a lot of shops a restaurants . Will definitely stay again & again!
- 5/5
Staff went above and beyond!!! Very clean shout out to the front desk for helping me track down my doordash order and also a big thank you to one of the valet drivers going to get my charger 10/10 I highly recommend
- 5/5
Well arranged and very clean
- 5/5
Check in was easy. Bell staff was great. Fast valet. Great location. Walkable to
- 5/5
Great Hotel!
- 5/5
The Hyatt has been updated and is simply a gorgeous hotel. From the tasteful design to the art, it is a welcoming and calming experience to step inside such a beautiful place. The rooms were spacious, perfectly appointed, clean, and had the most important thing, a comfortable bed. It was an easy valet park just a block away and the shower was great as well. I was greeted kindly by the receptionist and the whole check in process was seamless. Highly recommended for a great Chicago destination right by the Magnificent Mile.
- 5/5
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 3/5
The only things I didn’t care for was the unexpected $129 charge when checking in. Destination fee? Like I didn’t pay enough for the room, I get charged an extra fee that was not disclosed while booking. I wouldn’t have stayed there if I knew there was a “destination” fee. They gave us a $15 food credit. The breakfast was $30 a plate so pretty much a useless credit. The room was nice, however, I will not be returning to this hotel.
- 5/5
The room was perfect and had everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable. It had a sound machine that made sleeping easier in the hospital area of Chicago. If you’re visiting someone in that area it’s the perfect location. You can walk to the hospitals and Ability Lab as well as Magnificent Mile. There are lots of great restaurants nearby as well as a super close Starbucks. We ordered room service while we were there, and it was really good.
- 5/5
The hotel is clean and updated, walkable to shopping and dining.
- 5/5
Very clean and staff is very polite and helpful
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Overall a very good experience!!!
- 3/5
There was construction obstructing the entrance, a delay in checking into our room, and trouble with getting our bags held while we waited for our room to be ready. When checking out, the service representative was hesitant to allow a late checkout, which I thought was the least they could do to accommodate us for the issues we experienced.
- 5/5
Loved the valet parking and Conceirge service! Bar drinks were expensive. Dining was wonderful.
- 5/5
I loved the view! The pool and hot tub felt amazing.
- 5/5
The whole experience was great.
- 5/5
It was loud but good
- 4/5
Staff was wonderful! They were helpful and professional. There was construction so entrance was hard to find, but overall it was nice. We were able to walk to blue line train to head back to airport.
- 3/5
You advertised laundry facility as part of your property amenities that is why I chose your property. My husband has been at Northwestern Hospital across the street over a week at this time. We are from out of town. I needed a hot shower and laundy facility. You failed to mention laundry area was hospital sponsored and allocated to specific group. So I spent over $300.00 for a shower. I did not sleep at your property as I stay at my husbands bedside. The location was perfect.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
It was great for a short stay with my family. We enjoyed the location and proximity to public transportation.
- 5/5
Would def stay here again!
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay here! It had been years since we’ve been to Chicago, but it was close to everything. I highly recommend if you want a great city vibe and being able to walk everywhere.
- 5/5
Debbie at the front desk offered a very warm and friendly welcome and provided all of the information we needed to jumpstart our stay. We ate one dinner and a breakfast at the hotel during our stay and found the food service staff very kind and efficient. The food was fresh and delicious. Would definitely choose this location for a stay in Chicago again!
- 5/5
The hotel itself was very nice and very comfortable. Staff members provided an excellent customer experience. The food in the restaurants was very good and the wait staff excellent. The only downside is that the location is very close to two hospitals so there were many ambulance sirens during the night.
- 4/5
Overall is good but 1 concern we encountered is there is a clicking sound in our room or near our room, that distracts my husband while sleeping.
- 5/5
Andrea at the Front Desk was amazing!
- 5/5
Beautiful inside. Very noise with ambulances all night since adjacent to a major Chicago hospital.
- 5/5
Great location for many activities, restaurants and access to public transportation. Easy check-in and check-out.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Location
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 3/5
If you want to stay on magnificent mile then this is a decent choice. A few things I think people should know -They do charge a $25 a day resort fee, you get $15 credit for the bar/restaurant but it is very expensive. The pool and hot tub are very small. There is no free Continental breakfast. The rooms are very dark, we had a small window that faced another hotel so we almost never saw sunlight in our room. Lastly the hotel is right beside the hospital so you do hear sirens.
- 5/5
Construction just made it a little complicated but we managed.
- 5/5
It was great. The whirl pool was nice and relaxing I just did not like how some parents let their children get in the whirlpool and play when it's supposed to be relaxing for adults. Very close to things downtown. Far from the O'Hare airport.
- 4/5
Very nice but spendy for two nights. Would have liked to pay cash for when we ate at the restaurant or when having drinks at the bar instead of having it have to be charged to our room but other then that it is a very nice clean hotel.
- 3/5
I loved the inside of our room! I thought it was very modern and nice. However, we got a city view and it was literally a brick wall view. We were very tired when we got to the hotel and just wanted to rest when there was sand in my bed?? Wasn’t properly cleaned :(. Had some problems with the hotel phone working as well and there was an alarm set on the alarm clock that woke us up. :/
- 5/5
Excellent staff ans services. My only complaint is there was no microwave in the room and the fridge was extremely small
- 5/5
The bed was perfect
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, and all the employees were super nice!
- 4/5
Park your car next block at the hospital parking lot. You’ll save half the price
- 5/5
They are renewing and we had to use the back door and something only one lavatory was working, everything other that was great
- 5/5
Lived the area and tge large suite.
- 5/5
The wait staff in the restaurant areas were awesome. So friendly and helpful!
- 3/5
Then upon entering the hotel you have to walk around a corner. The concierge and Uber drop off is on one side and you have to walk to the other aide. And in the rain was Not sufficient.
- 4/5
Comfortable but really noisy. Would be a problem for a light sleeper. Scaffolding outside was disappointing. Location was great though.
- 3/5
While I was there, lobby window was shot out Hotels under construction and they do not care if you were uncomfortable
- 5/5
Newly remodeled
- 2/5
The room air conditioner was not working very hot in room and they gave me two keys but only one was activated and when I went to the desk had a hard time getting the key activated
- 5/5
Best place we have stayed in Chicago in a long time.
- 3/5
The fees for stay are excessive. Our three night stay cost approximately in additional 30% fees.
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 5/5
Our stay was great. The room was very spacious. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Pleasant stay. The hotel was peaceful and clean.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel - lots of amenities and in a good neighborhood and very close to shopping
- 5/5
Super comfy
- 5/5
They were remodeling the lobby. It wasn't a significant problem; remember to read the signs directing you carefully. Parking was an issue; parking a few blocks away was a hassle.
- 4/5
We were primarily interested in the location near the hospital where we were visiting a patient. The service was excellent and the room comfortable. BUT, it was pretty pricey.
- 5/5
Everything was great except the toilet made noise in room 1136 and there was some construction in the building.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect and the customer service was awesome
- 5/5
The staff at level 2 restaurant were phenomenal!
- 5/5
The room was comfortable and exactly how it looked on the picture.
- 5/5
So nice.
- 3/5
The rooms were nice. Any staff we encountered was very nice. There should be a disclaimer that the hospital is right next door and sirens can be heard 24/7. The proximity to shopping and things to do was nice but I will investigate different hotels if we go back.
- 4/5
It was great
- 5/5
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Hotel currents being renovated but it really didnt effect our stay.
- 5/5
Convenient to Magnificent Mile. Excellent service from Debbie Greenwood.
- 4/5
Was not aware of the construction going on so was confused on where to go and how to check in. The reason we picked this place too was for my kids to be able to swim. The pictures of the pool are exaggerated because it was so tiny and barely any room to swim. The hotel room itself was nice, and beds were comfy.
- 1/5
Firstly the tv in my room didn’t work, on top of that the staff is rude and condescending. I didn’t even get my deposit back within 7 days as promised. Don’t ever stay here…I sure won’t ever stay at another Hyatt ever again because of my experience at this location.
- 5/5
I enjoyed the modern design of the rooms

Staff rude, working very slow, I had to wait for my luggages for 30mins to get them from storage. Front desk lady also rude, would not come back here

The staff was friendly, personable & professional. There’s construction going on at the entrance, so everyone had to use a side door. Valet parking was on the pricey side..,and it is still at the original entrance, so you have to walk around the outside of the building to retrieve your car. I had the pool/hot tub were all to myself one morning.

Great, friendly staff the updated rooms & the pool/whirlpool were top notch. Exceptional value and would highly recommend it to families/others looking for a good Chicago “tourist-friendly”, but high quality hotel.

I fell and needed ice. No ice bucket. Boys went to get ice, machine didn’t work on our floor. Every other contact I had was outstanding

The service in the hotel restaurant was impeccable! Professional, courtesy, and customer oriented. They always went above and beyond in their service duties.

Everything was excellent just the cost of parking was huge. It’s better to use UBER than park with the hotel.

Overall we had a great stay. Very clean, rooms were beautiful, gym was big and really nice. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and nice. Lobby was very nice and cozy. Only complaints were parking was VERY expensive ($90/night), and the breakfast/room service were quite expensive too. That being said, our room service food was very tasty and we were given large portions. Literal perfect location 1 block from Michigan Ave. Would stay again!

Beautiful hotel but a pain in the neck to get in and out of. Concierge is not very helpful or welcoming

it was okay..

I was outraged to pay over $60 for a room service cesaer salad with chicken and it SUCKED. Limp, dark, slimy lettuce, way too much dressing with a pathetic piece of chicken on a separate plate floating in what I think was butter?? AWFUL. Shameful.

Beautiful room and loved the amenities

I did not like the daily $15 "resort fee". If you are looking to increase your profit, raise the room rate. Then I'll decide if the hotel meets my needs.

Will start again!

I absolutely loved the city view very good birthday weekend, I love how convenient the hotel is to different stores, restaurants and bus routes. My only complaint was that the hotel was a little cold to me but again that’s my personal opinion overall great experience

The Manager on duty 3/27 was WONDERFUL - we arrived at about 2 am and he was great. The food at the restaurant was excellent, but there were very few options. They do not answer the phone for in room dining. Also, one of the bartenders was incredibly rude to a guest and said 'You are asking for too much for free' as the guest walked away when a guest had asked for some silverware butter and salt (the guest clearly had takeout).

Valet was half a block from the hotel entrance.
- 4/5
Property is currently under construction with access only through a side door. This makes arrival less than impressive to be honest. We looked for the entrance after being dropped off at the valet area and there was nobody to help with luggage. Not the kind of happy arrival I had in mind. Otherwise a decent hotel with friendly staff and very good breakfast. Our room was newly renovated - clean and comfortable. I found the finishings ok if a bit cheesy in style. Overall - a decent place, nothing to write home about.

Great central location. Walkable distance to Mag Mile, Millenium Park, and much more. So many food options as well. The pool and hot tub were great for the kids.

Nice enough but very expensive
