Reviews
The hotel is praised for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. Its location is highly appreciated, being close to many attractions and amenities. However, some guests have complained about the hardness of the beds and the need for updates in certain areas of the hotel.
- Clean and comfortable rooms
- Friendly and welcoming staff
- Hard and uncomfortable beds
- Need for updates in certain areas

We had a really relaxing time at the hotel. The front desk staff was really helpful and nice. The only issue was the thin walls, which caused a difficult time sleeping with loud people nearby. It's an old building, so I don't blame anyone on staff for the issue. I'd just recommend taking a top floor if you are a light sleeper.
- 5/5
Always a blast to stay at such a historic location. Going to be sad to see it go.
- 1/5
Hotel is dated, dirty and expensive. Room had hair in the shower and a dirty toilet. Stay somewhere else.
- 3/5
After a morning of surfing, we stopped by around 2pm to see if we could leave our car, and the hotel kindly allowed us to check in early, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, when we entered our room, it appeared it hadn't been properly cleaned. The bed was messy, there was trash on the nightstand and in the bathroom trash can, and there was urine in the toilet. We assumed we had accidentally been assigned a dirty room. My boyfriend went to the front desk, where he waited 5-10 minutes before getting assistance. After calling out "Hello" and eventually calling the hotel from the lobby, he was helped. The employee kind of apologized by saying, "Oops our girls made a boo boo", and moved us to another room, which he described as an upgrade. The second room was much cleaner and only upgrade was a patio, but it had a strong cigarette smell, likely because of the courtyard. We weren't looking to complain again, but we told the front desk so we wouldn't be blamed for the smell. Their response felt dismissive and a bit odd rather than apologetic blaming the smell on their laundry detergent. Despite these issues, we still enjoyed our stay and love Dana Point. For the price, we would likely stay here again, but future guests should expect an experience closer to a Motel 6 than a traditional hotel.

Loved the black crowned night herons in the early morning at the pool.

Closing in November.
- 3/5
The building is ild and not well kept.
- 5/5
We love this place even if it’s run down.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
Overall its a great location and a good value but the pictures make it look better than it is. Walked to the marina for whale tour. Beaches close by. Didn't use the pool. One working washing machine. Lots if deferred maintenance stuff.
- 4/5
It was great to be so close to the water
- 4/5
This hotel will be demolished in August this year, make way for new hotel.
- 4/5
We got there at 8:15 am and the eggs and sausages were all gone and they refused to refill them. The tv had a few glitches, had to call the front desk to ask to fix the tv connection and the phone line to the room did not work. Other then that my stay was good. Thank you

It is old and it smells
- 5/5
Love this place, large rooms, quite, first floor has littke garden patios, great location and even better staff.
- 2/5
We reserved a room overlooking the marina. The lady told us at check in that we couldn’t have it and to take it up with Hotels.com because we didn’t book through them. My husband was finally able to talk her into giving us a room with a view. Breakfast was minimal but fine. Parking was good.
- 4/5
The location is great. Large, spacious rooms and a balcony. Pool and Spa. This hotel is in great need of updating. Paint chipping everywhere. Rugs lifting. Rusty, disintegrating pool gate. Worn out, tiny pool towels. No breakfast. Vety loud, worn out air-conditioning.

Property is being torn down...

Very good

Great staff and location
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Ideal location at a great price .
- 2/5
The property is old and not maintained . The view is beautiful but the deck railing is loose and a safety hazard . Rust in bathroom and just old and doesn’t look clean
- 2/5
Room 117 had a weird smell, almost urine like. Needs a definite remodel
- 3/5
It was fine. Just old. Elevator sounded sketchy but we survived.
- 2/5
Nice view of the marina. Walking distance from the beach. Outdoor pool and hot tub on property Dirty. We had to ask for fresh sheets. Not sure if they were stained or just dirty. Carpet is old with visible stains. Floors not maintained.

This place was great and right next to great restaurants and surf. We never wanted to leave. The hot tub was great!
- 5/5
We loved this place and never wanted to leave.
- 4/5
It was a great location. Easy to get to the places near by. The breakfast didn't live up to the posted information. The rooms was comfortable but the neighbors were loud. The hotel needs to be updated. A.shelf in the bathroom would be helpful.

Its a great location. The hotel is set to be demolished November 1st.

Great
- 5/5
Great location friendlly staff/housekeeping.. breakfast included a plus. I would stay here again and again.
- 4/5
The breakfast was just ok. The waffle machine broke and there was a line of people waiting for it to get fixed. The place needs at least 2 waffle makers. Also there were quite a few spiders in the room.
- 5/5
The only issue was parking but it worked out. All in all this is a spectacular hotel right on the water
- 1/5
People up stairs with kids were running back and forth for 2 hours. A guy played his electrical guitar next door. And we smelled weed twice… one the night of and the next morning before noon.
- 4/5
Easy check in, nice staff, clean room good location
- 5/5
Great spot.

Property next door was doing construction. Started working before 7:00 am. Tough morning

Every year, we stay in this place for convenience. We want to be close to Dana West Yacht Club, and every year is a disappointment. Such a great location, but poor maintenance. This place is outdated and dirty!!! We got one of the suites, and for top dollar, we got a clogged sink that smelled like sewage water. The hallways are dirty and full of spider webs. I would love for this place to have some renovations, or at least hire a cleaning crew.
- 2/5
We loved the location and the staff was accommodating. The pool was small but clean and the kids enjoyed that. The room was a disappointment since the building is pretty old. The beds were comfortable, but that was the highlight. The bathroom looked old and looked as if they had put caulking over areas of mold or something. Also, it had a pedestal sink and just a small shelf above the toilet, so three girls trying to do hair and makeup was a challenge. Absolutely no counter space in the bathroom. Also, they have a fridge but no microwave. Breakfast was ok but the only hot item was the waffles. Hotel desperately needs updating.

The mini fridge in the room was old and making a buzzing sound, had to unplug it to sleep. Carpet was old and needs a good cleaning, lots of lint. 2 huge spiders in the bathroom. Our room was also on the 1st floor facing the parking lot, so a car had its light on directed at our room, even with the curtains closed, it world be bright with the light coming through the sides. The breakfast is all carbs: waffle, bagel, toast, muffins with packet oatmeal’s, yogurt cups and apples, orange, banana.
- 5/5
It was great!
- 5/5
I love the bed and pool
- 2/5
For the price, I expected better. It’s safe to say I won’t be staying there again.
- 5/5
Amazing property right next to the water.
- 5/5
Staff was very attentive and helpful. Located in a great spot with breakfast Included. Property needs some upgrades but that did not take away from the overall positive experience.
- 5/5
Very professional staff; great service; clean facility; breakfast room was immaculate; I wish we were served hard boiled eggs for breakfast. thank you for a very enjoyable stay.
- 3/5
The location is the only thing to like about this motel. It is scheduled to be demolished November 2026, per the front desk.
- 4.5/5
Staff location value and old Dana Point charm
- 3/5
The location was great, very convenient and close to everything we wanted. The pool was nicely heated and clean. The beds were comfortable and the staff was nice. They provided us with a list of nearby restaurants which was really helpful. It could definitely use an upgrade/remodel. The bathroom looked pretty weathered and the water pressure was low which made it hard to shower. The breakfast was a little disappointing, I wish they would have had more protein options like eggs or bacon/sausage, which I thought they had based on the pictures posted. The coffee was also not great, so we ended up having to go elsewhere for breakfast and coffee. The fridge in the room was a good size but I wish the room had a microwave, or that there was a microwave in the kitchen or lobby we could use. The beds were comfortable but had an old musty smell. There were lots of stains on the carpet and curtains. The temperature in the room was fine most of the time but we couldn't really control the AC unit if we wanted to modify anything. The AC unit was so old you couldn't read any of the buttons on it. I know it's a budget hotel but for the amount we paid I wish it would have been a better experience.

- 2/5
I got so disappointed when I got inside the room it didn’t smell clean, the bathroom wasn’t that clean specially the tub, and the sink faucet. The beds aren’t too comfortable either, pillows for sure need to be replaced they are very flat and dated. I felt like I paid for the stay at a motel with the price of a hotel. Prices are very competitive around and not cheap to stay. Location was the only good thing so 1/10
- 5/5
This is a great place very quiet back in the marina. I have always stayed here for many many years disappointing though that they are going to tear it down. Don’t wanna see that happen. They’re going to build something really expensive that average people cannot afford unfortunately only for the rich.
- 3/5
The staff was also not very friendly or welcoming. The “breakfast” is almost nonexistent — there is basically nothing there, so it probably should not even be listed as breakfast. The location is nice, but the property itself feels worn down, neglected, and very far from comfortable.

- 5/5
Loved our stay here! Front desk person, Christine, was so helpful and accommodating. Location is great and the price was right!
- 4/5
The property is at the Dana Point Harbor. One side has a view of the parking lot, the other side a view of the boaters’ parking lot and boats in the harbor. It’s a nice hotel for a short stay, nothing fancy but nice location and within walking distance of Proud Mary’s for a great breakfast and Wind and Sea for a nice Happy Hour or dinner.
- 5/5
Maybe more options at breakfast. But my stay was amazing!
- 5/5
It was nice
- 3/5
It's pretty much middle of the road - a clean but (I'm guessing) late 70s vintage building with a bit of deferred maintenance. But, I'm cool with that because the price is very affordable. What I love about it (and this cancels out any minor negatives) is the KILLER LOCATION - right next to the marina and within two minutes of Doheny - except right now there's a lot of construction going on literally right across the street (Casitas) at the harbor (as of May 2026), which can be noisy at times, especially the 7AM jack-hammering. Fortunately, it's only temporary, but there's a lot of current and planned construction here as well as over at Doheny, apparently for a desalination plant).
- 4/5
Old school type motel that could benefit from a makeover but then probably treble to cost to stay. Great location, great price and the staff are simply what makes this place a bit special.
- 5/5
Staff is excellent. I appreciate their first class service.
- 3/5
Staff is helpful with where to dine. The hotel is convenient to visit places.
- 3/5
Hot tub was closed the first night, probably for maintenance, because it was open the second day. Pool looked inviting but we didn’t get a chance to use it either day. Biggest turn off was the ant invasion in our bathroom the 1st night and the huge dying cockroach we found inside our room near the bathroom door when we returned to the room the 2nd night. Both were taken care of by the guest. FYU, we stayed in the ADA room 221, which is on the north side of the property facing the main road, which is fairly noisy due to traffic. Meanwhile the staff were friendly and efficient and the other guests we encountered all seemed friendly as well. Bottom line, Dana Point Marina Inn is old and tired, but it is still a great location, with a laid back beach vibe. The good news is that the entire harbor area is in the middle of a major renovation project that will be completed in 2028. So, many of the old shops and restaurants are closed. However, once this massive renovation project is complete the “new” hotel(s) shops and restaurants will be worth the wait and an extended visit to this charming and historic coastal community.
- 2/5
I didn’t like was there was no coffee supply in my room and when I called the front desk to ask for it, I was told they have no one to get it to my room and they wanted me to come all the way to collect it. Honestly that is pretty basic stuff and they sounded like they were not considerate of guests’ needs. Also, when I arrived the guy at the front desk was absolutely unwelcoming. So overall, take this hotel If you are only looking for a convenient location but don’t expect hospitality. You are pretty much your own here.
- 5/5
the staff here are top notch! always friendly and efficient, very helpful. $15 per day parking fee. lots of parking in a safe area. a great place for a quick getaway. close to Laguna Beach, San Clemente outlets. Thumbs up!!!
- 5/5
Renovation.
- 5/5
Great visit good location
- 4/5
The hotel was very clean and relaxing. Staff was wonderful and the Inn being pet friendly was a nice perk. I’ll be sad to see it gone soon but the renderings of the new hotel that will take its place looks amazing!
- 5/5
Our room was clean the bed was comfy, the staff were attentive, and the location was outstanding.
- 4/5
Staff was nice. I didn't try the breakfast
- 4/5
Older facility but sometime soon it will be torn down with a new facility in its place. Safe and quiet.
- 4/5
Very helpful nice staff.
- 4/5
I didn’t realize the harbor was under construction so it was a little noisy. The hotel looks old and needs to be updated but the location is good.
- 4/5
It was a nice stay. Very quiet and the staff was very nice and helpful.
- 5/5
Amazing harbor views close to shops and restaurants. Very convenient
- 3/5
Poor condition in the room.
- 5/5
The grounds are Beautiful right on the Marina. I always stay at the Marina Inn, very peaceful and relaxing. Staff is excellent
- 5/5
Breakfast great. I let a cute homeless girl come in for coffee and miss Deanna.
- 1/5
Nice place for a hotel but this was a bad experience. The property was old and not maintained very well. We found roaches in our room.
- 5/5
It was perfect for price and location. Nice area to walk around and beautiful views. Would definitely go back.
- 5/5
Staff is excellent!!!!
- 5/5
Beautiful location.
- 2/5
No thanks. Told they will be renovating soon. Best thing I heard the entire trip.
- 2/5
Large rooms, but found bugs on the floor. Dated and run down hotel that needs an update.
- 4/5
Room was clean with a harbor view
- 5/5
Great location
- 2/5
This property is very outdated. Our room had ants crawling in the shower and moldy/dirty corners in the bathroom. Overall, the room did not feel clean. Additionally, the bed was quite firm. The complimentary breakfast was pretty underwhelming. It had waffles, some bread/biscuits and cereal. They only had coffee and juice, they did not supply any water. The surrounding area is nice however I don't feel the hotel itself justified the price.
- 1/5
I would not recommend this place to anybody
- 5/5
We only stayed one night and didn’t use any of the property amenities except for sleeping and taking advantage of the great location. The opportunity to walk around the marina enjoying the beautiful area with lovely waterway was extremely relaxing and delightful. Staff was quite pleasant, friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the bed and pillows very comfortable and we were more than happy with our stay. We’re so satisfied that we plan on returning again before the original Dana Point Inn is torn down for remodel.
- 3/5
Rooms not very clean, they don't make the room unless you pay more than 2 nights. The hotel is very good located but needs an upgrade it too old.
- 5/5
Wonderful location!
- 4/5
Great location. Friendly staff. Had a wonderful stay
- 3/5
Friendly staff, but property very outdated. My third stay and it seems more run down each time. Continental breakfast very basic. Parking available but at a small nightly fee. No maid service even for multi night stay.
- 3/5
The rooms are old and sounds are not contained very well. Low water pressure. Everything could use a good dusting and wipe down. The beds are hard as rocks
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
The property is showing its age
- 5/5
We stayed for the location and price and were very pleased with both. The hotel is older so naturally didn't feel crisp but we were comfortable and slept great! The people working there were really friendly and accommodating.
- 4/5
Great location. Walking distance to beach, restaurants, live music and shopping.
- 5/5
good location for our purpose.Nice comfortable stay.Goid breakfast options.Value for money.
- 4/5
It was just as expected, we had a great time. Staff was excellent!
- 2/5
Very out dated. Dirty
- 4/5
Breakfast menu average
- 3/5
Great location, everything else is lacking. Old facility in need of major attention, old worn carpet throughout, peeling paint in bathroom, mold in shower. Breakfast was unremarkable, no hot protein. With all the new construction in the area, the age of this facility will become even more obvious. You can do much better nearby..
- 4/5
This is an old property, my Father used to stay here in the late 1970's. Now, apparently they will be tearing it down to build a whole new resort where the small shops were. Definitely needs an upgrade. The pool and jacuzzi was nice.
- 2/5
Otherwise, you’d be better off at a Motel 6. I paid $250 for one night and they have the audacity to charge another $15 to park your car. The furniture is worn and dated. The carpet still has cigarette burns in it probably from the 1990’s. It really needs a face lift. The breakfast? A joke. Some waffles and cold cereal. Never again.
- 2/5
No had issues with getting the room with a key did not work and there's no Ocean View at all or pull it was facing a tree with construction
- 4/5
continental breakfast was OK
- 5/5
Great place, but will be torn down soon to make room for a new hotel.
- 5/5
Unable to use hot tub
- 5/5
The hot tub was great and the staff was kind and thoughtful.
- 3/5
Convince, good contentel breakfast was good. Condition of room was ok. Needs to be remodeled
- 2/5
Our first room had a cute little back yard. But it was really dirty, bathtub was stained or unclean, a dead cockroach was on the floor, and tape on the curtains. There was a horrible smell by the beds. Staff was kind, they moved us to another room. However this room had black mold growing in the corner of the ceiling above the bed. Staff again was kind and immediately moved us to another room and comped our parking. This room was in better condition and felt like it had been updated at some point, not impressive, but better condition than the other two rooms.
- 3/5
Just the sheets were dirty and the room smelled bad everything else was okay
- 2/5
From day one our tub was already clogged. The room is not clean, breakfast is not that bad but juice dispenser is not working also no water available you have to buy bottled water for $5. No microwave in the room, you have to go to the front desk to warm up your food( only one microwave for all the guests.
- 2/5
Great location - lots of potential specially with the construction of the new marina but the hotel is very old and needs major updating.
- 1/5
The place was dirty, furniture was falling apart, and the staff was rude. We checked out the same night (we had booked a 2 night stay) because we couldn’t sleep in those dirty sheets. Please book something else if you care about your health and hygiene.
- 5/5
Staff is excellent and provided great service
- 5/5
Hotel has basic amenities, a little on older side but it is clean, and very conveniently placed to marina. Breakfast is basic, waffles, yogurt, bagels, coffee. Go there with an open mind this is not Hilton or Marriott. All in all, I would stay there again.
- 5/5
Super friendy Beautiful view Good price
- 5/5
Little run down, but you can’t beat the location.
- 4/5
It was decent for the price with a hot tub and nice pool. There was fresh paint in my room and the interior halls were newly painted. Some things run down. Breakfast was free and decent. Easy to get to my room with elevators to the top floor. Thin walls and could hear neighbors but it did quiet down at 9:00 p.m.
- 4/5
You are not renting a Hilton hotel luxury room but you are not also paying a Hilton price. We stayed 4 nights that didn't break the bank. I noticed many multi-generations of family staying there with their pets. I imagine it was built circa 1980's and that families stayed there when it was new. The kids are now grandparents treating their grandkids to the same great experience. I would stay there again and hope they do not modernize anything including the antique wall art.
- 2/5
Internet is fast. But overall hotel condition was not that good. Breakfast was terrible. Fruits was not fresh. Bagel hard like rocks. Room was dirty
- 5/5
We chacked in later thank 8:30 pm and was told there is someone always at the reception desk. Fast WiFi, and clean room. Love that it is dog friendly and that it’s walking distance from the beach.
- 4/5
It is a beautiful area and is located in the best view, but it is old and has not been remodeled for a long time! however it is clean and staff is so friendly. but regarding the facilities everything is limited and really old.
- 4/5
Good value
- 5/5
Breakfast was great.
- 5/5

- 5/5

- 4/5
It just needs a little bit of TLC
- 4/5

- 5/5
Clean facilities and friendly staff
- 3/5
Tired and old
- 5/5
Great staff clean rooms. Clean pool. Good breakfast options
- 3/5
The floors and carpet were dirty, which made the room feel unclean overall. The elevator made a loud popping noise that seemed unsafe and concerning. Parking was also extremely limited, making it difficult to find a space.
- 1/5
I'm not sure why Hotels.com would this dump in their system.
- 4/5
Breakfast was good, room was so- so. We rented a suite - walls were scratched, carpet was frayed on the edges, lamps were crooked (one didn’t work) cupboards in kitchen scratched. Suite was large, nice view. Pool and hot tub were nice. Enjoyed being on the marina. Staff was nice although I mentioned the garbage in the hallway an he said staff would remove it the next day…
- 5/5
Great location - right on the harbor. I only had a 5 minute drive to the harbor for a family boat trip.
- 5/5
Beautiful location
- 5/5
Love the staff and great location
- 5/5
Love this spot. Great room
- 3/5
The location was the best part of this property. We stayed so we would be close to our early morning dolphin tour, and we were able to walk there easily. The pool and hot tub were well maintained, and the staff was friendly. The hotel itself desperately needs to be renovated. Everything is rusty, crusty, and falling apart. The carpets in the hallways were really rough, and the condition of the bathrooms as well. I don’t think we would make the choice to stay here again.
- 5/5
The pool was fine and clean as well and the rooms met expectations.
- 3/5
Property in a very nice location. Clean amenities, staff are helpful. Needs more breakfasts variety.
- 2/5
The bed was comfortable. Everything in room is brown and outdated, rugs are dark...feels dirty, shower wasn't working properly. Bare necessities. Although, this place was the cheapest, yet expensive for what you got, in the area. I believe this place plans to renovate soon. good luck
- 4/5
Ok
- 4/5
I found a few ants in the bathroom. Maybe spraying will eliminate them.
- 1/5
The room stunk like old urine
- 3/5
Very dated property and dated rooms. Our room was on the first floor with a little grassy area that had dog poop in multiple areas so I couldn't use it to ground or do my morning yoga. Dated room, towels weren't in the best condition, bathroom had several cracks, holes, and other visual confirmations of excessive ware and tare. The positive was it was so close to the baby beach (10-12min walk), that's where we spent the most of our time. Pool area was missing cushions but it was quiet. Continental breakfast had a lot of dated equipment that wasn't working properly. No non dairy options for milk/creamer
- 3/5
Been coming here for years. Due to future likely demolition rooms are very dated and repairs non existant. This time, there were long hairs in bathroom and dead cockroach when I woke up in the morning. I mentioned this to front desk snd showed picture while checking out and desk person said I will let management know. No room comp.
- 5/5
Great location , right at the marina
- 4/5
The staff was very helpful and cheerful.
- 3/5
The location was the best, but the hotel is outdated.
- 2/5
The one positive is the location is priceless.
- 2/5
Location was great if taking the ferry and for nearby dining but the hotel is very old and in terrible condition. We had to change rooms upon arrival because the first one smelled of cigarettes and dog urine. Very short staffed, our room had 2 towels and it took over an hour to get 2 more. The maids refused to give us any and said we had to get more from the front desk or they would get in trouble. The rooms are extremely dated and not well kept.
- 2/5
The place was pretty old and run down. I had hair in my bathroom and wet dog pee on the carpet when you walked in. Breakfast was average with the only hot choice being a waffle maker everyday. I had to change rooms after the first night.
- 2/5
The hotel was old. The rooms weren’t in great condition. The pictures on here don’t represent what the property looks like now. It’s rundown. My daughters didn’t even feel comfortable taking a shower in the bathroom.
- 2/5
Hotel is shabby depressing and hasn’t been updated or maintained in years. Mattresses are shot. Tub doesn’t drain no water pressure luke warm water. Mold in various places in the hotel. Outside property is full of trash cigarette butts and dog poop. It’s a mess. Hotel is on the verge of the wrecking ball due to harbour renovation. They don’t care anymore. Sad. Probably a great place in its day
- 5/5
had a great stay good location
- 3/5
The staff was courteous and nice. But I did see a cockroach crawling on the floor so I flushed it.
- 4/5
The young man at the desk was great. Great personality and very helpful. Give him a raise.

The staff was courteous and the bed comfortable. The continent breakfast was decent. No complaints as this is a no frills hotel. The room does have a microwave, sink and refrigerator for families looking to cook some meals in for saving money from always dining out.
- 5/5
Really nice. Staff was very friendly
- 5/5
I had an excellent stay at Dana Point Marina Inn. The staff was extremely professional, welcoming, and attentive throughout my visit. The management clearly runs the property very well, and both check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. The location is fantastic — close to the marina and surrounded by beautiful views. The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall value for the price is very good. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
- 5/5
Fabulous location, nice to have a free breakfast buffet, hot tub is a great feature, friendly, and helpful front desk staff. Nice to be close and walkable to so many great food options. Hotel was basic but clean.
- 4/5
No frills but nice
- 2/5
The room we booked was ruined from the storm so they upgraded us to a new room but it was extremely outdated. The lady working the breakfast made us feel uncomfortable and very unwelcomed.

- 5/5
very quaint hotel. Staff friendly and accommodating. Rooms were spacious and a beautiful spot right on the harbor. Other than being dated it was a great place to stay!
- 4/5
Staff very friendly. Great location
- 5/5
Safe Friendly staff Amazing area Affordable price
- 5/5
Easy check in. Clean room, nothing fancy, convenient to shops, friendly staff.
- 3/5
Clean. Nice staff. Breakfast options could be better and include eggs or protein.
- 3/5
An aging hotel but it was ok. 3 stars.
- 5/5
Such a wonderful spot. The morning walks by the Marina boats in peace and tranquility are priceless. Everyone around is nice.
- 3/5
great location but Dana Point Harbor is under construction. This property will be torn down so it's pretty basic. Not bad though - good price.
- 5/5
The Marina Inn is a small hotel located in the county run harbor and owned by the county government. The hotel was built in the early seventies as an alternative to the pricier privately owned city hotels, and possibly as a convenience to the boaters who dock in the harbor. Because the hotel is in the harbor it's super convenient for walking and eating. Although the accommodations are spartan, the staff is warm and friendly. We stayed in a first floor suite for two nights and we found it to be quite comfortable. The room we stayed in was clean, quiet and had been recently upgraded- new mattress, new sofa, fresh paint and it looked like a new carpet throughout the main floor. The bathroom is simple and small, but there was plenty of hot water, a decent shower, and clean towels. There was a good size TV in both the living room and in the bedroom with lots of channels. The living room had a large overhead fan and a heating/cooling system for comfort. There was a small kitchenette with a granite counter, microwave, refrigerator and coffee machine. The bedroom with a king size bed also housed a walk-in closet. Parking is conveniently located in front of the hotel. All in all, considering the harbor location and the resonable price, we thought we got great value for our two night stay.
- 3/5
It's clean but rundown. They're totally demolishing & rebuilding soon.
- 5/5
Wonderful experience from top to bottom
- 5/5
Great room and great view! Thank you Christine!
- 5/5
great place to stay
- 5/5
just love staying there and am grateful they are still open - clean, great location, parking, etc.
- 2/5
The refrigerator was broken and our key got deactivated every time we left the room.
- 1/5
old hotel, a dump
- 4/5
Clean room. staff.
- 3/5
Lovely location. Needs some updating and some seriously upgraded breakfast facilities but as the whole area is due for demolition and a laguna style modern renovation (sad to lose all the characterful buildings and restaurants) it really doesn’t matter. It is clean, basic and the staff are friendly.
- 3/5

- 3/5
Nothing fancy, just a place to stay, and it does include a breakfast: make your own waffles, yogurt, bagles, cereal, juice, and of course coffee.
- 3/5
Rooms were pretty tired.
- 2/5
The door frames are crusty and falling apart. The trash chuts are frightening. It’s an old old place. Bunt out room light bulbs! Remote controls don’t work. It’s cost effective to stay but you get what pay for there.
- 2/5
Staff was great. But this place missed maintenance and cleaning for at least 20 or 30 years. If I would know the condition of the room, I would NEVER stay there.
- 5/5
always a GREAT stay at this place. Clean, safe, quiet. Staff is always efficient, friendly and responsive. Amazing location near marina, Wednesday farmers market, eateries, and walking paths.
- 4/5
The rooms are nice. However I had noisy neighbors carrying on until after midnight. So the front desk was kind enough to move me to a quiet room. So grateful!
- 3/5
The room was dated and didn’t seem very clean. But nothing specifically unavceptable
- 2/5
Room smelled weird. The furniture in it was falling apart. Overall, it didn’t feel very clean. The carpet was very dirty. The staff is nice and welcoming, though.
- 5/5
Our first experience at this hotel exceeded our expectations from check in to check out.
- 4/5
Bathroom door needs fixed, sgower needs rexhalked. All other things were great

- 5/5
My only complaint was that, on New Year's Day, the breakfast room closed at 9:00 as if it was a regular weekday. That was very inconvenient.
- 5/5
Would be better if there were eggs
- 5/5
Clean, affordable, conveniently located. I love Dana Point Marina. You do need to request housekeeping
- 4/5
Basic comfort. Good value. Good pool and jacuzzi. Rooms are big. Minimal Food and Beverage.
- 5/5
This property is aged but, with that said the room and common areas very clean. The staff very friendly. The breakfast had some fresh fruit options like apples and bananas. There were some dry cereal selections and yogurt cups. Also fresh waffle batter so you could make your own waffles. Also fresh bread and a gel selections. Fresh coffee and juice too. Plenty of food.
- 4/5
We have stayed here previously and appreciate the location along the harbor and the ocean view. Rooms are clean, but some furniture is showing its age and needs to be replaced. For example, the vinyl arms on the desk chair were very cracked and one kept falling off the chair, and the wood underneath the fridge was falling apart. However, the room was a good value for a midweek stay, and the nearby restaurants are within walking distance. We will return again.
- 3/5
It is very apparent that this hotel is closing. There is much needed upgrades throughout the hotel and it doesn't appear that they will be upgrading prior to their close date. We used to really enjoy this place. The last 3 times we have been here there has been some sort of water leak adjacent to the breakfast room. Although we have enjoyed our 8 stays, we will not be back. Maybe when they rebuild it will be more suitable.
- 5/5
Great location. Friendly service.
- 4/5
Clean room, just aged. Even though it is now “non-smoking”, reminiscence of smoking in the past is still in the curtains & carpet. Slept with the balcony open. The location can’t be beat. Would stay again but in a room that was never a smoking room.
- 4/5
Good old place in the harbor. Complete redevelopment going on in Dana Point harbor. Will really miss this place . Not sure if it's getting a complete makeover or rebuilding, Lots going on down there including a multi story parking lot. Might want to check for updates before visiting
- 4/5
was not expecting the $15 for parking
- 3/5
The room was nice and location was amazing. The couple next door were constantly fighting, slamming doors, and we could not sleep. Hotel didn't seem very secure.
- 3/5
Staff very courteous. This hotel will be demolished in 2026 for redevelopment in Dana Point. Hotel is getting worn out. Breakfast is a poor offering.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly. Rooms are outdated and chairs leather is in poor shape but everything was clean. Comfortable stay.
- 4/5
The staff was lovely, the room was decent, the bed was very comfortable, I slept so so good. Breakfast was included which was nice, we were hoping for some protein in the mix but it was mainly cereal, oatmeal, bagels and muffins. As a couple who don't eat many carbs, there wasn't much to choose from but we made it work. The place overall feels a little dated but the Inn as a whole was good for the price and we loved it was in walking distance to the harbor and alot of other great spots. If you're looking for a reasonably priced spot near the harbor this is a good choice.
- 5/5
Hot tub and pool were clean and enjoyable. Always have a great time there. I wish the scrambled eggs and sausage were still offered for breakfast
- 5/5
Lovely location
- 2/5
No kitchen services to speak of. Persistent smell in the bathroom.
- 4/5
Love this place. Should update a little
- 5/5
Very nice and spacious. Had a real kitchenette. Stayed there with my dogs while attending a dog scentwork trial. Lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance.
- 5/5
Room was clean and staff was professional and friendly.
- 3/5
The curtain appeared broken due to not fully closing. There was heavy equipment trimming and tearing down trees down from my room. At 7:30 am the next day the same equipment was now outside our room. We left for the day. Returned to rest for the evening activities only to have the equipment working outside our room. The manager was willing to refund us a night The only thing good about this hotel was the location. We will not return to this hotel the next time we visit Dana Point
- 2/5
It was a decent place with a bed close to marina with convenient location. Breakfast was good and staff was great. Do not expect nice and new though- Room was old and had a bad smell. Black mold or something in bathtub and very run down. Super cute building and great location but building and rooms need major updates.
- 5/5
Overall a nice place to stay. However, there were few plumbing problems . Bathrooms sink stopper was not installed properly so stopper wouldn’t go up and down; bathtub stopper was very hard to engage and bathtub was not draining well when stopper was removed.
- 1/5
This hotel is near and dear to my heart. I grew up in the area and am super disappointed with how run down it has become. The faucet handle came off (completely) when I turned on the cold water. Dark mold in the shower and on floor. 2 towels had unidentified stuff on them. Hair dryer didn't dry at all made lots of noise but wasn’t hot and I ended up standing in front of air conditioner. Walls were dirty - they also looked moldy and I heard my neighbor pop open a coke. Awful. I think it’s being torn down soon but then they shouldn’t book stays if the rooms are that bad.
- 5/5
The location, staff, room were all awesome. This is our 3rd time staying here and will definitely stay her again.
- 4/5
It’s good
- 4/5
Friendly staff, nice room
- 3/5
new curtain rods , they are all rusted, actually the entire bathroom needs attending to, looks to be mold around tub seams. Lobby attendants were polite and friendly.
- 5/5
Friendly staff easy check in and self check out. Pool was nice close to the harbour.
- 4/5
Accomadatingvery nice staff and location
- 3/5
The kitchen had very limited utensils, no dish towel, just one cup and a couple of plates. There was no air conditioning in the bedroom. overall, the room presented as being very old and a little musty smelling.
- 3/5
Bed and towels were clean. Room was old and tired. No phone in room, keycard in doors didn't work well and remote was broken. All minor but showing its age. This is my fourth time staying there and I probably won't go back due to the wear and tear.
- 4/5
It was very quiet and easy for restaurants.
- 3/5
Staff not too friendly next day, pillows seemed quite used and flat and brekkie as sparse but maybe that is how it usually is.
- 2/5
Property is not being well maintained. Fireplaces all turned off permanently. Breakfast minimal. No heat in some rooms in suites. Not enough luggage carts to check in and out. Great location and friendly staff but property has gone downhill.
- 3/5
Fabulous location and a great price. We had an amazing view of the Dana Point harbor. The staff is fruendly, professional and helpful. However the property is run down and in desperate need of a renovation.
- 2/5
Bathroom needs repair
- 2/5
The breakfast service was one of the saddest I've seen. Next morning someone decided to work on the stinky room right after breakfast with the door open? We were gagging while leaving the hotel. The property is right on the harbor but that's the only thing to recommend it.
- 5/5
Yhe room was clean. The staff member who checked us in was very helpful. The breakfast was nice.
- 5/5
The staff were really nice. I love that its close to the restaurants, just a few minutes walk. Also, love the walks by the water. Thank you! We had a Nice birthday vacation! 💕
- 4/5
Furniture was very old and the bathroom fan really needed to be dusted. However, the rest of the room was clean. Price was very reasonable for the location.
- 1/5
The room was not clean, poop on toilet seat, shower dirty, under the bed was filled with pieces of dog food and other unidentifiable items. Disappointed given the cost and location of this place. Will not stay again.
- 5/5
Room was nice, a little outdated but was comfortable to be in
- 3/5
Construction happening in the parking lot adjacent. Balcony slider wouldn’t close. Entire floor marked as “non-smoking” yet it smells like an old Las Vegas hotel. The location is beautiful, but the property really needs a makeover.
- 2/5
A bit older, run down and dirty than expected.
- 5/5
Another fantastic stay! Staff is always so courteous, helpful and efficient. Amazing location to enjoy so many fun activities. Quiet, clean, dated, highly recommend!
- 4/5
The hotel was average. Needs some upkeep. Location is good. Took our dog.
- 5/5
Really nice place and friendly
- 5/5
Very nice and helpful staff! Made me feel welcomed and right at home. Thank you. Looking forward to staying here again in the future.
- 1/5
The room was severely neglected and dirty. I was moved into a new room which was a bit more updated, but it was still dirty, the outlets were outdated and did not charge my phone, and it was noisy. I would not recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
- 3/5
This place looks great in the photos, but reality is different. It wasn't bad -- probably a fair price for what you get. But, lots could be improved: $15 for overnight parking in an empty lot in November off-season did not make me feel like a welcomed customer. VERY basic/well used room furniture in a large room. Difficult to open/close curtains. Worn thin shower towels with holes in them. Clogged bath tub drain with hair in it. Dated noisy heater/AC unit in wall. Pluses: Nice harbor view and large clean refrigerator.
- 4/5
Staff was great as always. Rooms clean
- 4/5
It is less than good
- 4/5
Nice staff and room and view good
- 2/5
Now they even charge for parking
- 5/5
I’ve stayed here a few times. The latest was another great stay. I got an early check in and upgraded to Harbor view. The room was clean and comfortable. The property has a great hot jacuzzi with strong jets. The pool is clean and 8 feet deep at one end.. continental breakfast also.
- 3/5
Need to update the room aesthetics, carpet and bathroom, need stronger internet access
- 4/5
No. This was a non renovated room.
- 3/5
Yes, did no use hotub
- 5/5
Everything was great, but the noise through the walls. The walls are not noise proof as I could hear the adjoining room person cough all night long. Perhaps it’s just this room as I didn’t have this problem when I stayed here before.
- 2/5
Nobody at the front desk when I arrived. Had to sit around and wait for someone to check in.
- 4/5
Good location. Elevator acted like it wasnt going to work.
- 5/5
The front desk staff was AMAZING. They were accommodating to our requests and went out of their to find a solution.
- 5/5
This was a comfortable stay right on the Harbour
- 5/5
This is a very old hotel. Was clean for its age.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. A little dated, but what a great location at the harbor ! And across the road is our favorite breakfast place: RJs cafe!
- 3/5
When we arrived to the room it was very hot, the staff were not friendly. During my 2 day stay there were only 2 staff that were nice. For the amount I paid for my room (Honeymoon), I think breakfast could’ve been better. Ohhh and in the room I stayed in the sofa was dirty and torn. Thank you
- 1/5
Small dirty and pool was lame
- 1/5
Cockroach infestation at this very old hotel.
- 4/5
Nice and convenient walking to harbor. Hoetel is clean. Charges separately to park so not free.
- 3/5
Its supposed to be demolished in the near future, but it's the only motel/hotel at the marina for the moment. The carpet in the room I was in this time, looks newer. The bed is lumpy, but like I said, its convenient if you have business at the Marina.
- 3/5
My first room was musty and they changed me to a better room. My second room had not been cleaned and they sent someone to clean it the next morning. My key didn't always work but if I kept trying eventually it would. This is a very basic older hotel. No housekeeping and you put your trash cans out in the hall to be emptied or ask for more towels at the desk. A microwave and lobby coffee and hot water would have been helpful. Breakfast was the same daily but good. Right on the harbor with a pool. Excellent snack system. Excellent very helpful staff.
- 5/5
Great.
- 3/5
Staff were friendly, pool nice, bed linens clean. Rooms/bathrooms are very old in need of maintenance. Terrible smell in the room that gave me the feeling of not wanting to walk in bare feet. I didnt feel confident that the A/C filter would be clean seeing the state of the room, so just got up a couple of times during the night to open balcony door and let fresh air in. Great location, but im afraid i wouldnt stay there again.
- 5/5
Excellent location. Bargain price for the area. Nice suite. We will stay again.
- 5/5
another GREAT vacay to this property! Staff and housekeeping is exceptionally efficient, helpful and friendly. The property is slightly dated fyi but *very clean, lots of good parking. nice rooms, comfy beds and fridge. Steps away from the marina and baby beach. A great place to relax!
- 1/5
Room was absolutely disgusting. The ceiling was caving in there was mold growing on the ceiling tons of water damage. The back door didn’t lock it smelled like mildew extremely disappointed, especially for Dana point and the amount I paid.
- 5/5
Great Location , good hot tub , nice breakfast , friendly staff 👍
- 4/5
great customer service.....!!!

- 4/5
Hot tub was great! I wish there had been a bin for recycling. Room was clean. It's an older hotel and that shows in some areas. But very comfortable stay and fun being in the harbor and so close to restaurants, etc.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Property is older and the door swipes are a hoot! Quirky. The breakfast set up is amazing! Only there for the night for a memorial at sea. Loved my little courtyard/garden on a ground floor room for reading. Definitely thinking of a trip back. The lagoon down the road and park are lovely.
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay. Amazing hotel, just a little old, other than that it was amazing.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful and the hotel has a great view
- 2/5
Needs an update for sure.
- 3/5
The housekeepers were so rude. All of them. The breakfast wasn’t good. Ants in the bathroom. Broken wood. Clogged tub.
- 5/5
Always love to stay here, I'll be so sad to see the property torn down for the harbor renovations.
- 5/5
My husband and I had a wonderful time staying in the honeymoon suite for my 50th birthday. It was so nice and comfortable
- 1/5
Not a good stay as I was harassed my entire stay by the creepy front desk manager Sammy zaouk whose since been reported to Human Resources. The guy is unstable, clenched his teeth and unprofessional.
- 5/5
Great place to stay if you are going to Catalina for the day. You can leave your car and walk to the ferry.
- 5/5
Everthing was great. A/C could be upgraded
- 2/5
No kitchen. Room too close to front desk noisy. If you have kids watch out because these people will complain , people go there from their boats.. They will complain about children's noises except no one's worried about their own kids just complaining about everyone else's
- 3/5
Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. Just for a night of rest was ok.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Good location. Extended our stay with no difficulty. Staff very helpful.
- 5/5
Great location, the staff is great but the buildings are dated. They are getting ready for a much needed renovation in the area
- 4/5
Comfortable and close to shopping and restaurants
- 4/5
Right at the harbor, staff was all out helpful, room quite dated but decent. Nice walking area and beach walkable
- 2/5
This is an old run down motel. There was trash out front when we checked in and it’s really old looking and not well maintained. The room was really dirty with peeling paint in the tub/shower, corroded sink faucet, lots of dust and dirt on the bathroom counter edges. Areas that were half repainted on walls in the bathroom and around the beds. Lobby, hallways and room carpet all had multiple large noticeable stains. Rusting ice machine in the hallway on our floor. Lots of dust around the wall AC unit in the room. AC unit was so loud that I needed earplugs. Free breakfast was not very good at all. They charge $15/night for parking and the parking is not in any way secure. It’s an open lot that anyone can walk or drive into. Front desk staff let us know on check in that there are no housekeeping services. The one positive was the location, it’s right on the marina which was nice.
- 5/5
It was a great experience although the entire area is now being rebuilt, so there are significant changes going on.
- 3/5
Pet friendly
- 3/5
The hotel was clean, but tattered and very dated and plain. However, rates were very reasonable for area. But the staff at the front desk were surly and, at times, were downright rude. There was one exception, a fellow during the evening. I don't have his name but I believe he was middle eastern. The manager was especially unpleasant.
- 4/5
It’s match with the prize
- 3/5
This hotel is tired, but staff was friendly, and the location was perfect for attending the Ohana Festival (onsite parking and walking distance, can't be beat). The price, for the conditon, etc. was insane, but I am well aware we were paying festival prices. I would stay here again for Ohana.
- 4/5
It is a great location right on the harbor. I recommend booking a stay while they are still here.
- 5/5
Everything was great. Every detail. No complaints!!
- 3/5
Could be cleaner, but everything worked (good hot water pressure). Staff was friendly. Would’ve been nice if we were given the Wi-Fi password instead of having to call and ask for it. Easy walking distance to Doheny State Beach.
- 4/5
The best part about this place was how close it was to Doheny State Park.
- 3/5
It seemed pretty apparent to us that someone is about to tear down the Dana Point Marina Inn and replace it with something much nicer. It would be so simple to fix and update some of the elements of these rooms, yet it looks like nothing in these rooms has been touched in 40 years. First off, the location is excellent and the front desk staff is outstanding! That said, the condition of these rooms is sub-par. Rust colored streaks stream from the bath tub faucet, black substances grow along the baseboards of the bathroom, light bulbs glow uncovered, and furniture pieces from your grandmother's house sports scratches and bruises to let you know just how old they are. The hot tub was a nice temperature, and we enjoyed the pool, but the condition of the actual building was poor. I would recommend skipping the hotel breakfast, and wander off to a local coffee shop instead. If you're just going to stay a night or two, it's fine, but this is no luxury stay.
- 3/5
Never ate their breakfasts.
- 4/5
Fairly nice and clean, staff was kind an helpful. Overall good location
- 5/5
Staff was awesome! Especially Christine. She went the extra mile to make our stay special. Thanks‼️
- 4/5
Is older but the standard king I had was roomy and had a lot of areas to store things. The walls are thin so you can hear neighbors. The included breakfast was good. The hotelmis older and set for demolition sometime next year. The staff was accommodating and will stay again if the orice is right
- 2/5
Room smelt of mildew. Bathroom ventilation is appalling. HVAC is decades oldBreakfast Is included but awful. Dining room area is like a bad canteen. Will not stay at again nor recommend to anyone.
- 4/5
.
- 5/5
Very helpful staff. Many food and shopping choices within walking distance.
- 3/5
Check-in staff was friendly and helpful. Easy checkin. Great location and convenient walking to restaurants.
- 3/5
I enjoy my time in Dana Point it seems as the years pass by the hotel needs some TLC and some minor detail prices are not cheap there what’s wrong with expecting the place to show some pride! The tub needs to be repainted and renovated, the paint on the doors are peeling, one of the linens closets needs knobs the fans they have in the rooms were all dirty full of dust and with lint! Two blinds were on the floor broken, no one came to my room for cleaning and they have a sign for tipping the house keeper! That didn’t make any sense to me. This place used to be really nice. I keep coming back because it’s so convenient on the waterfront but they’re losing their spark. It almost reminds me like if I’m spending the night at Motel that makes me sad. My door keys kept loosing the magnet to open the door this was frustrating and the door kept getting stuck! This time around I was so disappointed!😔
- 5/5
This hotel is a short walk away from the restaurants and shops in the harbor. The Ocean Institute and a wave-less kid friendly beach is a just a short walk away. My kids loved splashing around the pool during the day and soaking in the hot tub at night. The room was overall clean and all the amenities worked. Our bed was comfortable and we got a great night of sleep. The included breakfast was surprisingly good too. The only thing this place needs is new carpet.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 5/5
I love this place. Looks a little outdated but love the feel and it’s so comfortable.
- 5/5
Pet friendly
- 5/5
Nice place!
- 3/5
We had already heard the hotel is planning on being demolished so not surprised that it was pretty run down. We brought our dog and stayed in one of the larger Suites which definitely looks like other pets have stayed which was fine. One night the room across from us was a bunch of young kids having a party so that was very disruptive and I should have notified the front desk. Overall, great location and friendly staff. The pool looked very nice and the room was spacious for our whole family.
- 3/5
Dana Point Marina Inn was a good deal with a great location. My only suggestion would be complimentary parking for guests ($15 per night...ouch!) and a healthier continental breakfast options. However, very quiet and nice cleaning staff. Thank You
- 5/5
I used to want to keep this place a secret it was the best place for your money for those of us who are not rich. It’s not a resort. It’s just a place to sleep clean and safe however they are going to tear it down and probably build a very expensive place that I won’t be able to afford and that’s a shame. I’m not poor, but I’m not filthy rich either. The parking used to be free however the past few years I’ve had to pay $15 a night just to park my car but some filthy Rich guy, bought the marina from what I hear and they are destroying it so many of the great restaurants are already gone so they can tear it down so sad
- 4/5
Great location, great for walking, just the place it’s self is a little shabby.
- 2/5
Pool- not heated, hot tub- not hot enough. Breakfast- only edible thing is waffles. Coffee terrible. They are going to tear down and rebuild so they aren’t doing improvements. The only nice thing was location to catch ferry to Catalina. Also- no conditioner provided. Staff very nice. They deserve to have a nicer place to work at. Bathroom in room only has pedestal sink so little to no room to put out toiletries/ flat iron. Also had to put my trash outside for them to pick up. There was mildew and missing silicone in bathroom and our sink didn’t drain. There was thick layer of dust on dryer on wall and my sheets were clean but discolored.
- 3/5
Nice view of the harbor
- 3/5
Friendly staff. The building, our room and furnishings were dated and worn. View was not what I expected.
- 5/5
The best hotel staff a business traveler could ask for!!!
- 5/5
A bit old and dated but very clean and neat. Excellent staff of friendly, helpful folk. Excellent location. Definitely recommend and will stay here again.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, quiet and affordable. Old Inn, needs some updating in bathrooms, patio chairs, can’t my of patio’s, ice machines. Overall comfortable but NO microwave! That was a real disappointment bcuz we brought home leftovers to warm. Small fix-it, lampshade had taken a beating and was barely hanging on to pole. The free breakfast was very good.
- 2/5
The hotel will be torn down in December and is in a state of willful neglect.
- 4/5
Great location. Short walk from Doheny state beach, marina, n a jetty for shore fishing. Beautiful area with a short drive to some good dining options. Loved the balcony with view of the marina.
- 4/5
It’s an older property so not fancy but a great location
- 4/5
However, be aware that what Expedia lists as a $50 deposit for pets is actually a non-refundable cleaning fee. I booked this hotel assuming I would get part of this cost back when deciding which lodging to stay at. I would chosen a different place due to pet fees had I known.

Unfortunately, some of the verticle blinds were broken, missing, and laying on the floor upon arrival, I'm sure they are fixable, but some of the missing ones lowered the aesthetics.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and great views of the bay from balconies.
- 5/5

Great place to stay everything you need near by
- 5/5
Most staff was nice and helpful some were a bit rude. Also AC and n one of my rooms didn’t work
- 3/5
Location is awesome, room was very aged and bed was like two pieces of cardboard with springs in between. Window AC not up to the task. Service was good and the included breakfast was good and appreciated
- 5/5
Nice view of harbor and boats from balcony. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
It was easy safe and amazing to stay for future events

We have stayed at this property in the past. Unfortunately they have gone down hill. The room has threadbare curtains, smashed bugs in 2 walls, hair in shower and fixtures on sink in disrepair. Air conditioner old and too loud to have on at night. Staff not pleasant, more robotic with no interest.
- 3/5
It is only lodging available on the harbor. Surrounding it there are many good restaurants. They also have a good breakfast. The rooms were good and decent
- 3/5
Spoke to general manager about problems with the room and he said he would give me a 25% discount on my stay
- 3/5
Location however is great. Very convenient to be at the marina for the whale excursion and several dining options, all walking distance.

The staff: Christine at the front desk was wonderful. She helped with a room issue (the blackout curtains would not close) and immediately sent a professional young handyman (I can't remember his name) to fix it. Without her consideration, we would have been awakened at 6 AM each morning by the sun. She also issued a small credit towards parking without us even asking for it. She understands customer service. We would stay at the hotel again based on this alone. The Jacuzzi: Heated well The free breakfast: Good number of hot and cold choices Minuses: The wall unit AC: So loud it could wake the dead! The pool: Far too cold for actual swimming. We were at the hotel for two hot days and only saw 2 children in it. Another guest said she was told the pool was heated to 81 degrees, but there was simply no way that was the case. The pool was probably the biggest disappointment of our stay as we always book hotels based on having both a swimmable pool and a jacuzzi once we select a location. *Overall, this was a pleasant stay due to the staff and the excellent location. There were beaches in walking distance, and we were just a few blocks from the Ocean Institute, where we got information on the tide levels for the day and then did the beach trek to Pirate's Cove.

Close to baby beach. Nice area.
- 5/5
Great place to stay near the marina and restaurants. Paved sidewalks to beach access and lawn space. Self-serve Breakfast is minimal but good with eggs, sausage and toast. Yogurt and juice are refreshing cold.

Beautiful location. Great for a weekend visiting friends. Large rooms.

I worked in Hotel Industry for 7 yrs. No money is going back into this hotel. Front door and back door of room would not close properly. Plenty of parking around bld, but most was closed off making parking difficult with a $15/nightly fee.. Bathroom was filthy, bed was filthy with hair and dirty sheets, rug edge was filthy, and under beds was filthy. Not a good experience. Never again

Great Little Harbor Inn.Close To Beach. Great Value.

Outside looked nice and the location is awesome but the rooms are old and the mattress was awful.

Well to start, we arrived 10 minutes to 4. Check in is at 4 or after. Our room was not ready until 4:58. I don’t think we have ever checked into a hotel that late. They are usually ready much before hand. Wasn’t ideal because we have an adult special needs son who has trouble waiting, that’s why we thought for sure coming at 10 of 4 would work out well. The hotel is very outdated and on pretty poor condition. I know they told us it is being torn down at the end of the year but they should warn people. The room air conditioner was so loud and we couldn’t adjust it properly so our son did not sleep until nearly 4 AM. Needless to say, we forwent our second night and left. Since I bought the room on Hotels.com they could not reimburse me for any of it.

The smoke alarm went off in our room at 3:30 am. The hotel phone wasn’t hooked up so we could call the front desk so my husband had to go downstairs to the front desk. The clerk asked him if he took a stick to hit it and of course he wouldn’t do such a thing. She asked him did he pull it off the wall and we didn’t so she came up and pulled it off the wall. They replaced it the next day without any explanation as to why the smoke alarm sounded

The room was very dated looking and the mattresses were fairly uncomfortable. Looks like it hadn’t been renovated in many many years. The breakfast that was included was so bad that we had to go somewhere else to eat.
- 3/5
The location, staff, and complimentary breakfast were excellent. However on the other hand the motel is really outdated and needs a remodel. The paper was peeling off the bathroom walls and the whole hotel has an old hotel odor
- 4/5
I like this place. The view from my room is good, the staff is friendly and the nearby restaurants are great.
- 1/5
Staff is incredible but that’s where the good stuff ends. Filthy rooms. Caked on dust on the cords and drapes. I get that this property will be torn down soon but either stop renting rooms or clean them. This property looks like a crack den.

This was nice hotel the front desk lady that checked us in on 8/20 was so nice and helpful. It was a great place for dogs
- 5/5
The price is excellent for the location. Right on the harbor. Within walking distance to many restaurants, activities and shopping. Hotel and room are a little dated, but clean and comfortable.

Sami gm. Amazing. All staff awesome

We were stock there in this Hotel for 5 days. We booked through Hotel.com like I always do when we go visit our kids. But if something goes wrong they can't do anything because we booked through Hotel.com. This happened to us last time with another Hotel and there was compensation. This is the last time we book with Hotel.com don't do it!
- 2/5
The property is run down. The bed and linen were ok but furniture and room were run down. Definitely charging too much for the rooms.
- 2/5
It will s not worth the money
- 5/5
The beds were comfortable the staff was very nice and knew the area well. Every thing I did was in walking distance. I would definitely stay there again the next time we go out that way. However the continental breakfast could use a change. Maybe add more variety like hot and cold cereal.

Very convenient, lovely staff and great value for money

Overall the hotel was good. Professional and friendly staff. However, some repairs are greatly needed.
