Clean room - we missed the luggage rack - the food was perfect for breakfast - great staff and great proximity to the Coach House!

Great accommodations and the cleanliness. A very peaceful place to stay. Thank you!! The height of the toilet bowl is too low for adults. That should have been regarded highly when the planning of construction, renovation, or installation took place. The height is for a 5th grader. Sorry to say.

Arrived at 3:10 hoping to check in early. Was not able to check into a room until 4:30. Hotel accommodated us with free parking which we appreciated, especially since we did not realize the parking was an additional fee.

Clean room! Staff was helpful. Did have trouble with the toilet though, had to wait like 5 min in between flushing and the pipes were loud. But overall nice & clean room!

Dog friendly, regular size fridge plus a stove and dishwasher Wish I had more time to stay

It was located conveniently by the freeway When booking with a third-party it was misleading and when I booked a room, it said it was a room with the Jacuzzi tub in it and when I arrived they claimed they didn’t have any of those. I paid way too much money for a room they didn’t even have and they didn’t even give me a discount because of their misleading add for a room very disappointing

Good hotel with a spacious room. The shower is large and very comfortable. The bed is cozy, and the linens were clean. Breakfast was good. However, the pool was very dirty and extremely cold. The jacuzzi was hot but also dirty. At night, you can hear a train passing by and blowing its horn, which can be disturbing.
- 2/5
Room is not updated, no air circulation in the bathroom. It’s so noisy because of poor sound insulation.
- 5/5
Everything was great, the staff are super attentive. The room was perfect. Centrally located to many things. Would stay again.

They have plenty of parking space but they don’t offer self parking and the parking lot they forced you to pay for it is not even monitored from any kind of security and it’s in the open If you pay 150 dollars per room( updated and smell like mold) it’s insane force people to pay 22 dollars for street parking!! Never again!!
- 4/5
Room was great and clean I would recommend Only issue was the train noise
- 5/5

Breakfast was great and reception staff were very cordial.
- 4/5
Good, clean property, but there is nothing in walking distance.
- 5/5
Great stay! Would stay again and highly recommend. But please drop the charge for parking. $20+ a night is not what’s up especially when there is no security or covered parking.
- 4/5
Excellent staff, friendly. Clean room, Comfortable beds.
- 5/5
THANK YOU....
- 5/5
My wife and daughter and I stayed here one night for a soccer tournament. Me and wife had the king bed, 15 year old on the sofa bed and all slept great. Kitchen with a full size fridge and plates and utensils was amazing to have, as we ordered in food. The suites are very clean comfy and well appointed here, they sell beer in the lobby and have bottle openers in the rooms. What more can you ask for?
- 1/5
Despite having a reservation, and prechecking in about 1, (room wasn't ready, didn't receive a key, left my luggage) when I returned about 11:45 pm, there was not a room available. If you haven't returned my money, I expect it immediately. I will intentionally not use your services again.
- 4/5
My room was very noisy, very loud air conditioner and frequently running train.

- 5/5
Great hotel. Close to shops
- 1/5
There have been other times I had reservations and didn't use the room, nor ask for a refund. This ONE time I asked and they wouldn't give one. Very disappointed.
- 5/5
Liked that the kids could entertain themselves with the mini golf, basketball court and pool! Breakfasts was a plus
- 2/5
Did not have a safe to store valuables. Noisy area with trains blowing their horn at all hours of the day and night. Limited breakfast hours weekdays ending at 9:00AM. Need to update its appearance.
- 5/5
Nice place to stay, close to everything in south oc.
- 5/5
Cleanliness
- 5/5

- 2/5
Nice property and amazing and friendly staff. The issue with this property is it is right next to train tracks. There is a crossing below the property and trains pass all day and night and they have to blast the horns due to the crossing. Two nights and very little sleep. If you need to stay here, I highly recommend you request a room on the street side and far away from the train tracks.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Wonderful suite room.
- 3/5
The room was clean and wonderful layout of room. Poor lobby service no one was there to greet and help; I had to wait for 10mins before someone came out…people were also waiting. There was no one to help me checkout. So I had the leave…Fortunately I had the room prepaid
- 5/5
Nice room. Smelled a little funky at first but once we got the air on it went away. Great staff. Freeway noise is a little noisy. Amazing breakfast
- 5/5
Great location, near all the places we wanted to see in the area. Bonus: Costco is just a walking distance away
- 5/5
It is a great hotel for a family trip. Basic breakfast ( cereals, yogurt, bread and eggs) is included. I was expecting a waffle maker, however, the French toast was good. Enjoyed playing basketball and putting ( golf).
- 5/5
We had a wedding on the area and the accommodations were comfortable and so convenient for everything around us!! Recommend with 4 stars!
- 5/5
Staff, especially Louise was very nice and accommodating
- 4/5
Train noise beginning in early morning was disruptive to sleep.
- 1/5
Open parking but they charged for parking.
- 5/5

- 5/5

- 2/5
The noisiest traffic outside and no double pain widows. Bed right near window. Hard to sleep. Dog urine in the hallway. Helpful and friendly reception though.
- 5/5
Staff very welcoming. Everything clean and great breakfast...large suite with lots of room.
- 5/5
The front desk was very helpful. The rooms were large and very comfortable.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
Wonderful, everything is clean. Breakfast amazing. Free tour in Trolley right at the door is a must do.
- 4/5
I love having the kitchen as an option. At check in, I was shocked when Mason told me that the room (a suite with a separate room with a door) I had reserved 6 MONTHS ahead of time was not available. My spouse snores like a bulldozer and that was not going to be ok with me. After he saw the distress and almost a heart attack waiting to happen, he checked me into the room I had originally reserved. The suite is great but the house keeping team needs to be trained better. Nothing is wiped and fingerprints are everywhere. The refrigerator handle was sticky. I will stay there again but next time, I will bring Clorox Wipes and wipe everything down.
- 4/5
Nice stay
- 5/5
Excellent location, amenities, and room
- 4/5
Overall, good place for business or leisure.
- 4/5
Breaker tripped a couple of times when plugging in fan. Maintenance responded right away.
- 1/5
At the check-in, I have never in my life at a Marriott been treated worse than the way the guy and the one behind the counter treated me and my sister who also checked in. They wouldn’t even negotiate any kind of pay to upgrade. They wouldn’t honor the fact that we were Marriott rewards members or silver star members, and wouldn’t accommodate any requests that we had and then slammed us with, a ton of money in charges.
- 4/5
Nice, clean and comfortable!
- 5/5
Arrived shiortly after noon and requested early check in so we could bathe and change to prepare for a friends birthday party at 3 pm. The young man at the desk was very helpful and considerate to make a room available to us. Clean, comfortable, professionally run hotel. Will return to stay here for sure.
- 4/5
Easy access. Key fab would not work for side entrance on the day of check out.
- 1/5
I paid for my room in advance to stay 2 nights in a Double Queen Suite. When I arrived with my wife and three kids I was informed my room was double booked and no longer availabale and that no rooms were available even though I already paid. The desk staff said they arranged a 2 night stay at a different hotel 20 minutes away. When we arrived at that hotel we were informed that our room was only available for 1 night that we would have to move again. After several phone calls with the very rude Residence Inn Manager, Valarie Roriguez, we were finally moved to another hotel that had a room available for us. When I asked about the refund that I was promised I was told to contact Expedia. The staff even had the audacity to blame Expedia for thier own failure to contact me and tell me that my room was given away before I arrived. This experience was HORRIBLE!
- 2/5
No complaints about our time during our stay as we had what we needed. My only complaint is that staff is not super responsive when things are left. Unfortunately my husband left behind 3 new shirts with tags still on them in the closet and we didn’t realize until a week after when we were flying out. The staff was not helpful and seems like they are not organized when it comes to lost and found items OR staff is dishonest.
- 5/5
We enjoined our stay, it wss quiet and comfortable. My grandchildren enjoyed the pool very much. We only stayed 2 nights for this visit, so no maid services. For the most part the room was clean, but we did find a jacket inside the sofa-bed. The employees were nice and so was the free breakfast!
- 1/5
The hotel in general is dirty.Of the 5 nights we stayed there, no one has vacuumed the corridor / hallways. The sofa bed mattress is so old that you can feel the springs poking you. When you request for fresh beddings they will refuse to do it saying room is not scheduled for that day and they usually do it on the 4th day. tgey will tell you they are short staffed. Doesn’t feel like you check in a marriott hotel standard . Also no o e even reached out to me when i complained about their sifa mattress, they didncare. Dana point hotel is a disgrace to Marriott hotels.
- 5/5
It was a nice stay .Staff was very nice.
- 5/5
Very nice and spacious room with all the amenities. Only problem could be the whistling train during the night.
- 5/5
Shops located right across the street. We stayed here when they just opened the trolley which was nice. Room was clean and quaint, the only negative thing was the blanket stored in the closet was dirty. Other than that, shower pressure was great and area was quiet. Would stay here again 👍
- 4/5
I did not expect to pay extra for parking.
- 3/5
Otherwise it was a nice stay.
- 5/5
Alex was great at check in. Room was great
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, nice beds and breakfast. I rest a lot.
- 5/5
Staff was over the top polite and professional. Everything very clean. Great place
- 5/5
Me and my wife stayed here for Valentine's day just for a 2 day getaway. Rooms are clean, very spacious, had a kitchen and a fridge and stove. I would say my only complaint is that it's next to the train tracks so we would here the train passing by. Overall my stay was excellent and would consider coming back.
- 5/5
Pleasant
- 5/5
All was seamlessly great except for the breakfast! It was cold,(eggs, potatoes, sausage), and flavorless. Change up the coffee as well. It was undrinkable…
- 5/5
Great location and friendly staff. We never heard the train and we stayed 3 nights. We will defiantly stay again.
- 5/5
I stay on the freeway side of the building and it was a bit loud
- 5/5
Breakfast was consistently good.
- 5/5
This property is the best kept secret in Southern Orange County. The rooms are very clean, sheets are crisp, beds are comfortable. The staff was personable and helpful. And you cannot beat the price.
- 5/5
Loved the rooms fully stocked. The only thing that was tough was the Air conditioner was very loud. Staff was very efficient and quick
- 5/5
Room was fantastic and they had a great breakfast selection. You have to pay to park, but other than that it was great!
- 4/5
Did not like the vinyl couch and needs a larger tv
- 3/5
Very pricey for the lack of amenities …
- 5/5
Great stay. Lovely staff, very kind and accommodating. Nice room, very clean, many amenities. Would absolutely stay here again!
- 5/5
The pproperty was very close to lots of good restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores and more. There was even a Costco just down the street. To most places, it was about a 6 min drive. Not close enough to places to just walk but syill very convenient. I loved that it was a pet friendly place. I did not have a pet with me but I saw plenty of dogs; and i was pleased to say that the property was very clean and very quiet. Definitely would stay again!
- 1/5
This property is right by a commercial railroad track. Because the property has not applied to receive a quiet zone residential status with the city, the freight trains are required by law to honk their horn three times while passing by the property. If you don't want to wake up at 3am to the tune of a freight train horn with tracks right by the property, don't stay here. The whole property shakes when a train goes by. The horn will wake you up.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, Clean large rooms, good location for highway access
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay
- 1/5
Also the room has a bad smell like someone smoked there or there were smelly pets or pee. This is not an 8.6, should be 1 * hotel due to this fact.
- 5/5
Comfortable hotel, great location for our needs but didn't anticipate the hourly train whistle from the Amtrak that ended around 1:00am then started again at 6:00am.
- 5/5
nice place
- 5/5
Great staff
- 5/5
Nice, clean and comfortable hotel within a short distance from the marina, restaurants, shops. Complimentary breakfast had a variety of choices and was excellent.
- 5/5
The rooms were a great set up for the 3 of us. And it was in a great location to get everywhere in Dana Point.
- 5/5
Excellent service
- 3/5
There was a pink film around the drains of the bathroom sink, shower area The faucet had a lot of soap scum. A lot of hair around the corners of bathroom areas. There was a kitchen sink but no dish soap. The pool was really cold The sidewalks badly need a good pressure washing. Lots of stains, gum and leaf's everywhere on sidewalks. The front desk staff gal over explained everything when asked a Yes or No question.
- 4/5
Found out we were charged the same rate as another family who also had five people but they had a two bedroom while we were stuffed into a one bedroom. They didn’t leave enough towels even though they knew five adults were staying in the room. Only did minimal cleaning. We had also stayed at other local hotels as our longer stay and felt this was the worst deal overall. Noise from road work topped the not so great experience. Don’t think we’d stay again.
- 5/5
Convenient location to Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente communities. Marriott Resident Inn staff was welcoming and helpful. Great staff!
- 3/5
Good location, but my room was ground floor and facing the road. Very loud.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Nice kitchen with everything you need to make coffee or have stuff in the fridge. Perfect location for going back and forth to Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano. Nothing is near the hotel within walking distance. So if you want to walk out and have restaurants or shopping this is not the hotel to stay in. We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
what I like for the money the property nice, inside very nice and all amenities. because it near major street . The outside could use fresh face lift from out side to match the greatness inside
- 3/5
When turned on, the air conditioner makes a very loud humming noise that cannot be ignored. The noise stops when the ac is turned off. Fortunately it wasn’t a warm weekend but I can imagine as soon as the temperatures go up, the ac unit motor is going to be extremely disruptive. Being on the first floor there is a view of Costco parking and no peek of the ocean as stated by the front desk. The rooms were clean, stocked with basic kitchen essentials like cups, dishes, and silverware, along with a full size refrigerator. There is complimentary breakfast served.
- 4/5
And for the price I think it was fine. Some of the things that I would say need improvement are, variety for breakfast, more cleanings of the rooms during stays, better in room products.
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful front desk staff, room was clean and very spacious
- 3/5
Live bug in bathroom, dripping water sound in bathroom ceiling, didn’t have a visit from housekeeping in 3 days, crowded furniture arrangement
- 5/5
The bathroom floor area was very sticky. Towels were put down to walk on.
- 3/5
The positives were that the staff was very nice and our bill was adjusted. When you have a handicapped placard they waive the parking fee of 16.00 a day but it does not happen automatically or it did not in our case. They provide a free breakfast of the usual eggs, toast and sausages, etc.. The lobby is nice but the rooms are popcorn ceiling, 1960’s style. I thought that the 200 plus that I paid was steep for what we received.
- 5/5
Immaculate and well run, with surprise amenities like basketball court and heated pool. A real pleasure
- 5/5
The room was very nice and spacious. The street the hotel is on is very busy. It is very hard to exit the property, especially if you want to turn left out of the driveway.
- 5/5
Very nice, clean, comfortable
- 5/5
We enjoyed our night at this hotel. It would be nice to have a pocket door to separate the bathroom and bedroom area to give more privacy and less light shining into the bedroom. It would keep the noise down when someone is using the vanity area, while the other person is still asleep.
- 4/5
We visited family two nights and like staying here. The only downfall is the slow and spotting internet and phone service that was frustrating.
- 5/5
Clean, spacious and wonderful staff in the front.
- 4/5
Not happy about paying $16 per day to park outside of the hotel. Silly! Otherwise, great stay!
- 5/5
The staff was awesome. Always super friendly and the the rooms are great. Walking distance to Doheny Beach and a quick drive to Dana Point, or Laguna Beach
