Reviews
The hotel reviews indicate a mix of positive and negative experiences. Guests generally appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms, the friendly and accommodating staff, and the convenient location. However, common complaints include issues with the air conditioning, noise from neighboring rooms, and a lackluster breakfast.
- Clean rooms
- Friendly and accommodating staff
- Air conditioning issues
- Noise from neighboring rooms
- 3/5
For the price my family paid, it was very underwhelming. The room was hot; the door didn't lock properly; it was clean but not well-maintained; and it lacked nutritious food. I would expect this from a cheap hotel, but not one that is more than $130 a night.
- 3/5
Parking good, breakfast nothing special.
- 5/5
Great staff, hotel clean and centrally located to shops and places to explore.
- 2/5
The rooms are so tiny! The curtains were falling off, dirty floors in the bathrooms, not at all as pictured, the AC barely cooled the room, and you could hear every noise the neighbors made. The staff was very polite and helpful, but we're limited in how they could improve our situation.
- 4/5
Older property.
- 5/5
It was a great place to stay and central located to all fun and sight seeing.
- 4/5
Room was clean, how ever the temperature of the room was controlled by the property which made it a little uncomfortable. Beds were a little on the used up side but other than that it was good for a one night stay with kids.
- 5/5
The facility was okay, but was an older one that needed some upgrades. However, it was reasonably priced, and the young lady who worked the desk was both friendly and helpful. Durango is a great place, and that helps with the rating of the hotel.
- 3/5
The beds were decent and appreciated the ice machine. It is a simple, no frills stay. It did need some updating in the room regarding doors and couch.
- 1/5
$60 pet fee. I talked to the front desk and they said it was because of urine and fecal matter which is impossible because my dog left with me every day and is fully house trained.. my dog travels with me all the time and has for the past eight years. I have never been charged anything like this so consequently, I will never recommend anybody stay at stay at Econolodge Lodge of Durango and I will never stay there again myself.
- 3/5
Property is old and not well maintained. Staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating.
- 1/5
Tried to shake me down for 200 cash wen I got there then the dude tried saying the reservation I paid through Expedia wasn't showing up didn't have 200 cash I'm like cancel it then bc it said pay only 147 for everything then u get there it's 200 more n cash suspect to say the least rob Ed me evidently still ain't got back no refund folks be playing with other folks money like this a game out here crazy just lunatic moves bc they be hiding behind cops it's they hustle rob u then call cops on u 2 make u bounce ridiculous is wut it is hole town does this game but something at dunn deals and complain they call cops cnt be a customer not satisfied it's spend ur loot n go away here twilight zone
- 2/5
The staff was not very helpful
- 3/5
It was ok. Breakfast had very limited options.
- 3/5
Very clean room, bed comfortable, staff great! Doing the best they can with a very old hotel. Road noise was rough.
- 5/5
Has everything you need and breakfast has waffles
- 4/5
Close to downtown. We stayed 3 nights so they gave us a nice size room. Everything was fine, not fancy, but comfortable. Never ate the breakfast.
- 4/5
Didn't eat the breakfast, it was a modest "continental breakfast "
- 5/5
Comfy bed, clean room. Good ac. Breakfast average.
- 3/5
The room was clean, but the AC did not work that well
- 3/5
The rooms we booked looked nothing like the clean, bright ones shown in pictures. The lighting that worked was dull. There are no sheer curtains for ambient light, so it’s either darkness or wide open views for outsiders to see in. The bathroom ceiling in one room had fallen and was only being supported by the lights above the mirror. The grout was dirty in the bathroom areas. There was a line of mold around the ceiling in the shower/toilet room. With a large cycling event in town, choices were limited. We definitely won’t stay at this location again.
- 5/5
Not fixing to write no book it's a good clean place good breffiss
- 3/5
Room was clean, staff was accommodating.
- 2/5
Breakfast wasn’t much of anything. Couldn’t control thermostat. Check in person wasn’t the nicest. No hot tub could be found as advertised. It was the most expensive hotel on the 10 day trip with the least convenience and least amenities
- 5/5
The desk girl was very helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast could have some boiled eggs. But was still a variety. To much sweet for me. I did enjoy.
- 5/5
Room was nice and clean. Will definitely stay here again in the future
- 5/5
The receptionist was nice checking us in quickly. Room was very clean and spacious with nice amenities. Breakfast was decent. Highly recommended.
- 5/5
Clean room. Friendly staff. Bathroom was dated but I think they are in the process of remodeling. I would stay there again. Great off leash dog park about 4 miles away
- 3/5
Had an issue with check-in. I reserved a king room and they tried to put me in a double queen room. When I went to speak to the attendant he was a little rude about the situation so things did not start off well The room was clean and kept clean , beds were uncomfortable and worn. Breakfast wasn't much at all, being a type 1 diabetic there wasnt any protein options so I was unable to enjoy the breakfast. I wouldn't stay again.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and place was solid to stay at.
- 4/5
Comfy stay
- 2/5
The heater wouldn’t work that great. They gave us a portable one so if you have kiddos and it’s cold, be aware also there was poor lighting. Everything just felt old about the place.
- 4/5
Friendly staff and clean rooms, definitely would stay again, even if breakfast was a little lacking :)
- 4/5
No wifi
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Easy check in. Room was clean.
- 5/5
I would recommend this hotel, it was excellent value for money.
- 3/5
Pictures were definitely deceiving. Old stained furniture. Pretty outdated, breakfast only had oatmeal, cereal and waffles. There was no hot tub. Beds were okay although something bit my face. Price wise for location i guess was okay.
- 5/5
Room was spacious and very clean. I loved that they had a box fan in the room. The property was quiet and well maintained. The location is great and close to downtown area. I booked through expedia which states they had a hot tub. There was no hot tub. Staff was friendly and coffee was good. Budget friendly without the sacrifice comfort and safety.
- 1/5
The only good part of this experience was Sherry, the front desk lady, she is very kind.
- 5/5
Excellent value for the money. Very kind staff and fantastic coffee !
- 5/5
Clean room
- 3/5
Staff was friendly. Great location. But the building and facilities is run down and not well kept. I do no recommend this stay for families with small children.
- 1/5
Didnt complsin because we got back to hotel room late and figured staff was gone for evening.
- 3/5
-The location is on Main St. but it's North Main St so not the part of cute downtown Main St. Our fault, just unknowledgeable about the location/area. -The hotels.com 8.2 rating and photos were a bit deceiving. While it seemed clean it was just a bit old and rundown. We ran into a couple of issues: -wifi was out because their basement flooded where the routers were. -the ice machine was broken. -the hot tub was broken. -there is no AC so it was very stuffy and hot in the room. -the bathroom sink was not draining. Again, super nice staff and an ok place to stay if you need easy, cheap and only need to sleep there.
- 5/5
There was an issue with the internet--some flooding took out a router the last day so there was no internet connection in the room, but staffer made a note to refund some of my payment.
- 5/5
This was the perfect spot to stop for the night! The staff were amazing, and despite the property being a bit dated overall, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The towels and washcloths were softer and nicer than those at the Broadmoor. The breakfast was great, especially the coffee, which is from a local place. There is some road noise and you can hear the folks above you, but overall, I could not recommend this property more to those passing through.
- 5/5
Affordable, clean, friendly staff.
- 3/5
N/A
- 4/5
Breakfast is quick and nothing special. But the price is right
- 5/5
We stayed for 4 nights and it was a good experience. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room and bathroom were clean. Free breakfast was a plus. Hotel is near main downtown area and takes only a few minutes to get there. Overall, it was a great stay.
- 4/5
Room was great, only thing I seen that could use attention was the non slip sticky pad in bathtub was peeling and curling over. Other than that great room… nice comfy bed!
- 4/5
Included breakfast was, well, hmm, sugar cereals, sugar muffins, and probably more sugar (waffles?). If you enjoy a healthy breakfast, best to bring your own.
- 3/5
If you just need a place to sleep, it will do. Goid location.
- 5/5
Welcoming to pets! The room was spacious and clean
- 5/5
Loved our stay - will return!
- 5/5
Me and my husband went for j7st a night away from home .... pillows could be better but everything was great clean
- 3/5
Heater didn’t keep room warm. It’s nice to have 2 king beds and a sleeper sofa but the sleeper is in need of being replaced.
- 5/5
This was the cleanest and most well appointed econo Lodge I've ever stayed in. I slept like a baby after going from sea level to mountain level
- 1/5
This hotel stay was the most horrific experience I've ever had while traveling with my dogs. NOT PET FRIENDLY. Manager is not customer friendly. Extremely rude. A terrible rating doesn't rate 1 star. What a waste of money staying here.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and nice staff it was very safe
- 5/5
Clean updated room. Comfortable beds. Good complimentary continental breakfast with waffle maker, cereal, juice, coffee, etc. Convenient central location, good location if skiing at Purgatory. Friendly staff.
- 4/5
Room was clean and staff were very good. Only issue was the beds were very soft.
- 3/5
Staff
- 5/5
Clean/cozzy room. Warm and professional staff.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and cozy. The guy who checked me in was very efficient and pleasant.
- 1/5
They require a high cash deposit if you live within 60 miles! I live 52 miles away. I just needed a room for the night before I caught my morning flight. No where is this stated until you attempt to check in. At least they cancelled at no charge.
- 5/5
It was clean and nice bill treated me well and with respect
- 5/5
Great room in the center of Durango. We came for a ski trip to Purgatory. Very pleasantly surprised with our room. I would gladly return to this EconoLodge.
- 4/5
Room was clean and reset every day and the staff was great
- 4/5
The room was clean and tidy. When returning back to the room, I noticed the heater was not working properly. I called the front desk and told the heater was not working properly. The front desk attendant brought me a space heater that worked fine for the evening.
- 4/5
I wish the hot tub was open but otherwise a good place to stay overnight
- 2/5
The sheets had stains, the keys to the doors wouldn't work. No, we did not put them near our cellphones as the guy at the desk was saying. The breakfast was awful. There was waffles, yogurt, and cereal. The orange juice was watered down.
- 2/5
Muy mal servicio de parte del hombre que nos atendio en frente. Nos tuvieron que cambiar de cuarto porque n servia la calefaccion y aparte que esta muy ruidoso en el lugar que esta. Si estan limpias las camas.
- 3/5
The room floor had a slope to it, beds werent comfy, and breakfast had very few choices ( waffle, yogurt, cereal and hot cereal)
- 5/5
Room was as expected. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 0.5/5
Room 111 was very noisy. A loud generator-type noise emanated from a corner in the bathroom and could not be shut off. I drove away at 12:30 AM to sleep in my car off the highway instead as I couldn’t sleep in the room. The parking lot was quieter.
- 3/5
The room was in good condition and we got towels and the stuff we needed
- 4/5
Clean rooms, very good staff. Overall good experience
- 5/5
Everything was great, our room wouldn't lock but they were able to move us to a different room. The staff was amazing and very friendly. The rooms were clean.
- 5/5
Absolutely amazing!! They had amazing breakfast set out for us in the morning and the employees were so sweet and helpful!!
- 2/5
Staff were good. However, neighbor's we're fighting & drinking alcohol in their room most of the night. Kept us up most of the night. They were hitting the wall throwing/
- 5/5
Staff very informative and gave us loads of vacation options. Had a goodtime
- 4/5
We truly love this hotel. It is affordable, in a good location, and the bigger rooms are perfect for our bigger family. Our only complaints this trip were breakfast options have decreased a lot and the floors of the room were very dirty.
- 2/5
We tried to check in early and they said we couldnt because rooms were booked but we saw doors open and them getting cleaned. The water temperature is back it takes way too long to get cold and then when you turn it down it gets too cold. They did provide food whicj is appreciate but its just cereal, oatmeal and waffles. You can tell somethings were outdated and the floors werenr very clean.
- 3/5
Room was clean, shower was clean, breakfast reasonable for price . Nothing fancy but very inexpensive. Problem was mattress quality was very poor.
- 3/5
Room was clean and the price was low. Brutally uncomfortable mattress and pillows.
- 5/5
Cleanliness, staff, and easy access.
- 2/5
Super noisy, very old facilities and poor customer service.
- 4/5
The breakfast was bad they only had waffles and yougurt
- 4/5
Perfect location
- 3/5
No hot water in bathroom sink, dark room, needs a little renovating freshing up
- 5/5
Good service. Room was clean and quiet.
- 5/5
CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE
- 5/5
Room is clean!
- 4/5
Room was clean, amenities were good, and staff was good. The heater was not great; it was sending heat to the ceiling was pretty noisy at night.
- 3/5
Solid option. Friendly staff. Not too far from downtown Durango. Room was quite hot at night.
- 4/5
Very nice room & convenient to everything!
- 4/5
Also the tub plug did not work, so I could not take a bath. Otherwise, 1 night stay was fine
- 2/5
cleanliness is questionable. Cockroaches were found in the bathroom.
- 5/5
Clean room. Staff
- 5/5
Clean
- 4/5
It is at a walkable distance from downtown Durango. The room does not match the pictures, they are in an average condition. Staff is helpful and friendly. Stay here if you are passing by
- 4/5
My gps made it hard to find
- 3/5
Good place to lay your head down
- 4/5
Good deal for the price. Very clean.
- 4/5
Not bad, not rad! Everything was find for our stay. the Beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the breakfast didn't have much choice, but it was free! What else can I expect for a last minute budget booking? Spend the night, not a fortune!
- 3/5
Our biggest concern was the lack of insulation between rooms - we could hear the TV next door. Plus a neighboring room had loud voices and a crying baby until 2 am. Parking lot small and crowded.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
Parking was easy and secure. Staff were very helpful. Furniture well used but bathroom and bedroom clean and tiday
- 3/5
Room was clean except for mold on the bathtub area. The hotel is located in a run down area. Dog “park” was poor (just dirt and weeds) and the lighting was not working. The building condition was poor.
- 2/5
No heat in the room
- 4/5
Large room and comfortable beds. Very limited breakfast.
- 4/5
Check-in was accurate and fast, property was well tended, the room/bathroom was clean as possible and well lighted. Traffic noise quieted after 10 PM. One downside was how long it took for hot water to arrive at sink and shower. Would stay again on next visit to Durango.
- 5/5
The staff was terrific and the room very comfortable. A great stay for an affordable price.
- 4/5
The rooms are dark, dated, and without airflow. Because we were staying in October, the only option was to use heating, but not A/C. Thankfully, there was a fan in the closet to keep us cool at night. The bed was comfy and the shower water pressure was strong. Nice location.
- 2/5
Room was ok! Room needed to be remodeled and the temperature of the room could not be controlled so sleeping was miserable Front desk was great
- 5/5
Nice clean rooms, quiet, friendly staff, easy parking, no elevators
- 4/5
Older hotel with outdated AC/heating system. Found box fan in closet that we used to keep air flowing in room. Clean room, comfortable bed.
- 4/5
Clean and comfortable!
- 3/5
The cost was fairly good. The room had been updated but the bathroom still needed work. The bed was pretty creaky. Being right off a busy road, the traffic was pretty loud first thing in the morning. Breakfast was minimal. Its a very adequate hotel for the price.
- 5/5
Staff were nice..breakfast was okay..would come.again!!
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable place to stay
- 4/5
Great for the price. Parking easy amd convient. Breakfast ok. They were trying out breakfast sandwiches great addition
- 3/5
The air conditioning didn’t work and it was uncomfortably warm. No elevators had to access the room from outside and walk up the stairs.
- 5/5
It is a two star rating so it delivered what was expected. The building is old and the hot water takes quite a while to get through the pipes to the room. the place is beat up but delivers. Would we stay there again? Yeah.
- 4/5
Good location
- 5/5
The Econo Lodge was very clean, right in town and the staff were very friendly. I felt appreciated as a customer and that means everything!
- 4/5
Just a run of the mill, on the highway motor inn. It suited our needs. Room was small, lots of traffic.
- 2/5
You couldn’t adjust the heat and there were no extra blankets!
- 2/5
Safe and good location. However room is severely outdated, furniture is damaged and ragged, bed is lumpy and bedding is cheap. The TV is the size of a computer monitor and the heater didn’t work.
- 4/5
Good location. Clean room. Adequate breakfast. Good TV stations. Property is a bit dated. Parking is tight.
- 4/5
Breakfast was ok. They had problems running out of coffee. Comfortable beds
- 2/5
Cut rate budget hotel. Uncomfortable bed. Pillow was a sofa square. Breakfast was a joke. Very noisy. Room smelled. Air conditioning was beyond noisy - almost clunky. Staff was friendly and the room was clean. Wouldn’t stay there for free
- 2/5
The hot water handle squeaked. Would not stay here again.
- 5/5
Though well-worn, Everything worked well, but there was no individual room climate control. No problem. The man at the desk loaned us a space heater. The room was surprisingly quiet considering it is about fifty feet from a main highway, US550. A very pleasant location feature is its proximity to a fine library, gardens, riverwalk and fish hatchery and downtown. Yes...we would stay there again
- 2/5
Room was nice & bed comfy. Check in staff refused to help give us a first floor room for my handicapped wife. No elevator. Breakfast was minimal. Difficult driveways to access 4 lane highway. Will not return or recommend.
- 5/5
Easy checkin. Clean, traffic noise okay after 9pm.
- 4/5
A decent spot for a short term stay. Nice that it had a room that accommodated so many.
- 4/5
Beds were comfortable
- 4/5
Clean room, nice staff, and good breakfast.
- 4/5
This was a comfortable and clean room. We had some noise from the room next door and from the traffic in the street outside. But overall it was a good place to stay for the price.
- 3/5
Bed uncomfortable and a/c didn’t work that good , was clean , great location.
- 5/5
Clean
- 4/5
Old
- 2/5
Front desk clerk was not very friendly
- 5/5
Restaurant next door was excellent, clean room and great location for our needs.
- 5/5
Durango is one of my favorite places to visit and the econo lodge is the best place in town. Comfortable spacious rooms with nice beds linens towels and pillows...the motel is very motorcycle friendly with a wash station and motorcycle only parking...easy walk downtown about 15'minutes
- 3/5
The air conditioning works poorly.
- 5/5
For an older hotel the rooms are spacious.
- 1/5
We came with some friends, our room was okish, but our friends room her a/c didn't work, switched rooms and second room didnt work. Attendant said take room or just check out not his problem very rude had to keep room bc none was available in town
- 4/5
Comfortable
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Stayed there because it stated it was 3 minute drive from Durango Silverton RR. Durango is a cute town with lots of choices for food and shopping. Room was nice and roomy.
- 4/5
Convenient property.
- 3/5
The whole facility seems old and rundown. There was a lot of noise from both rooms next-door. As soon as they turned on their plumbing, we had the benefit of lots of noise. It was rather chilly, but because it was only September there was no way to turn on any heat. Breakfast was very basic.
- 3/5
Our overnight stay was adequate. Convenient to highway.
- 4/5
Rooms are a little small as is the parking lot.
- 4/5
Comfortable bed and quiet, which are really important, but property is very old and run down, in need of updating. The provided breakfast was very unimpressive.
- 2/5
Cracked on the ceiling ...cracked wall in the bathroom. Bathroom fixtures about ready to fall out of the wall.. it's called lipstick on a pig and it'll cost you $160 a night..
- 4/5
Close to downtown
- 3/5
My wife & I give this place a poor rating for the price, we expected a cleaner & better maintained lodge.
- 4/5
It was OK. Nothing special.
- 1/5
The hotel is fine. The management is horrible; rude and hateful
- 2/5
Definitely a much older hotel doing its best to hang on... Central heat/ac which means you don't have much flexibility on room temperature. They also don't maintain the HVAC units, so they're barely blowing out any air at all. Floors look like they've seen quite a bit of water damage, very uneven. Noisy road. Hotel staff were nice though.
- 4/5
Never had a two king bed suite before so that was great. Property needs some maintenance but was clean
- 5/5
Close to main st and train station with its great museum
- 3/5
Lot of restaurants nearby.
- 4/5
The room was adequate.
- 4/5
It seems like they really put the effort in to be a clean and comfortable hotel. The staff was friendly and it was a great place to spend a few nights
- 4/5
Standard motel, good location on the Main Street and walkable into the main town bit. Very friendly staff
- 5/5
This hotel was great to stay at for us while we were in town for the Four Corners rally. Although it is not super fancy and the property could use some love our stay was perfect and the room was clean. I love that this hotel was located less than a mile from the fair grounds and close to places to eat. Our stay was safe and free of any disturbances from other guests, it was also quiet. I would definitley stay her again
- 5/5
Nice staff
- 4/5
Great stay. No issues.
- 5/5
Nice clean hotel close to all the fun things in Durango.
- 3/5
Property was dated and not clean
- 1/5
Bedding was dirty. Office didn't help. Ended up leaving.
- 2/5
I knew this was an economy type room, and so I wasn’t expecting much. The reviews were good for cleanliness and that was fine. The breakfast was ridiculous. No protein. There might have been an apple, but no other fruit. No hot food, but would really charge me off was from the beginning. The desk staff was so rude and made me feel very unwelcome. Not worth the savings. Definitely will pay more to stay somewhere nicer.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Check in was quick & easy. Lots of parking and great WiFi. Room was very clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Easy to get around town
- 5/5
Overall it was a trip that accommodated all my activities without spending extra funds due to accessibility to activity
- 1/5
Staff charged me pet fee but I wasn’t bringing in a pet!
- 4/5
The room was clean, staff was great :)
- 4/5
Everything is good
- 5/5
Really nice front desk staff. Comfy bed, was quiet, and waffle machine at breakfast was great
- 5/5
Room was great, we had a desk, sofa and lots of extra floor space for the 3 of us to move around each other. Hot tub was running beautifully and we used it both nights. It had a privacy fence but was in the middle of the parking lot. Staff let us stay an extra 15 min when we arrived late from dinner. We were only a five minute drive from the downtown historic shopping district, where we had some great meals.
- 4/5
Room was very clean and mostly updated. Staff was very friendly. Bed was comfortable. Had a box fan available since room temp cannot be changed due to boiler system, however I thought room temp was very comfortable (we were there in mid august). Room did need a little work: it was hard to get the key card to scan properly to get the door to open. The outlet next to the sink did not work. Room with shower/toilet could stand more updates. Chair was a bit worn. With all of that said, overall I was very happy with the room for the price….it is an economy hotel so people should not forget that when writing their reviews.
- 1/5
.
- 1/5
$200 cash damages policy. Credit Cards not accepted. Front desk extremely uncaring to help.
- 1/5
You require a $200 cash deposit if you live within 60 miles of the property? I have employees that work overnight and can’t drive home after working. Your property refused the paid reservation, nor would they accept credit card for the “damage” policy. I will never put another person up in an Econo Lodge again.
- 4/5
Beds were comfortable and room was clean. No problem checking in. It was great walking distance from downtown.
- 4/5
The front desk staff was fantastic. Both check in and the morning staff were so friendly. The lady at the desk even made me a waffle for breakfast...so sweet!
- 4/5
We had a great stay. The room was clean and very well maintained. Only 4 stars though because the front desk guy came off a bit rude.
- 2/5
I would never stay here again. Staff checking in was rude, bathroom was dirty, fire dictator had tape over it and staff did nothing, Would not recommend. First place I have ever given a negative review.
- 5/5
Good value for a quick overnight stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean.
- 4/5
Beds were good. Room was spacious.
- 5/5
Close to our next destination.
- 5/5
Good service with a very clean room.
- 4/5
Good stay for little money. The furniture in the room was large and awkward for how the small room was set up but we weren't there to hang out in a hotel room. The downtown area is a short 5 min drive down the road and if full of shopping and food! 20-30 min drive to some outdoor activities.
- 3/5
Very thin walls and noisy people in room next to us decided to have their tv blaring until 2 am.
- 4/5
Decent and clean.
- 3/5
This property was good for an overnight stay en route to other places. If I was going to Durango as a destination I am not sure I would love this property. There was a hair (not ours) on the wall above the toilet. This was very gross. The door that adjoins to the other room had a larger than usual slit at the bottom and I could see the light coming from the other room while I was trying to sleep. That was not appreciated!
- 4/5
Room was a bit run down, but otherwise fine.
- 5/5
The service was great!
- 4/5
It's a nice room with all the amenities. Great staff!
- 4/5
Nothing
- 3/5
The man at the front desk was very nice and helpful. I was pulling a trailer with a motorcycle on it and this hotel has absolutely no extra area for parking. The employee told me where I could park my trailer during my stay and even gave me an orange cone to put in front of it so nobody would park there. Like I said he was very helpful. The reason for a three star is because this hotel is very outdated. The room was clean enough other than a few hairs in the bathtub. If I could give a rating on the bed it would be a negative five. The bed was so worn out that it was in the shape of a vitamin ok for a one or two night stay but wouldn’t recommend any longer.

We stayed there on a family vacation with two teenagers for a few days. Office staff was very friendly. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Bathroom felt outdated and had a really low light. But it was clean. Breakfast was basic but adequate. There was fresh coffee and tea all times of the day. Housekeeping came everyday to switch out towels, trash cans and tidy up bed, clean bathroom which was much appreciated. Room was huge and had a sitting area. There was a trolley stop to downtown just a few min walk from hotel. Overall, we had a great time and would certainly return to hotel.

The staff

Staff was great! Our room coming in had a weird smell, but we just left the window open and it kinda cleared up. Bathroom was a little dirty when arrived, but our beds were 10/10! They were comfy and sheets smelled nice!

Great location with basic breakfast

AC motor was very loud, even with earplugs in.

The motel's proximity to the train station was a positive attribute. However, the room rate was deemed excessive. Furthermore, the condition of the motel was substandard.

Well you get what you pay for. Summer in Colorado is the very best ! Ride the train from Durango to Silverton. That was amazing! Our hotel needs a whole new upgrade. Tub was discussing and didn’t drain from morning to night. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was no big deal.

Lots of noise between rooms. Older motel that has been upgraded but still feels old. It was clean but noisy between rooms. Noise machine took care of that.

Clean and quiet. Breakfast options need more. For price it was good.

The room was filthy and in disrepair: The tub stopper was broken, the sink would not drain, the floor was filthy, there was a significant amount of black mold in the shower, the bottom of the bathroom door was chewed off (obviously by a previous occupant's dog) and the door would not lock, there was a gaping hole at the threshold of the door to the room, letting in air and noise and light, the curtains were off the track and we had to close them with a binder clips, and the alarm clock was broken. In general, the room was unclean and in a terrible state of disrepair. Totally unsatisfactory.

We were on a week long motorcycle trip around Colorado and stayed here. Hotel was ok. In my opinion needs to be updated. Was using extension cords and a surge protector to have enough outlets. The manager on duty was very helpful.

Pretty good for the price range, right on the main road with easy access to the trolley.

Not bad just meh. The exterior is overdue for a refresh. Our room was pretty nice aside from a super dated shower/tub. Liked the wood floors in the room. The motel is on a street that is consistently noisy and busy just to turn onto. The location was fine -- saw newer, more updated motels farther south that I would look at next time but if the price was significantly different, I would be okay staying here again.

Near a trolley stop. Room was clean. Liked that the bathroom sink was located in the bedroom and not in the toilet/shower room. More convenient to getting ready while my son was in the shower. Room was dated and run down.

We were able to sleep 3 adults and 2 teenagers Going upstairs with a cane. Breakfast wasn’t impressive. Boys had waffles but otherwise just little muffins and cold cereal

Great value for the price. Very friendly staff. Breakfast could have been better as it was basic.

We had a problem at Check-in, however Matt was perfectly courteous and professional, and all was resolved without a hitch. Location was great for a walk downtown for a few beers too.

It was old and dirty, Very noisy, and I am handicapped and walk with a cane I asked for a ground level room the staff was going to check on it but they never got back to me.

Can’t really think of anything… Run down. A lot of of cheap repairs to try and hide how run down this place really it.. even the stairs are look like they were built my a unlicensed contractor. Light fixtures crudely installed. Black grime around the tubs. Thermostats not working…. Bedding not washed. Just beds remade from tenants before.

Better price for Durango. Thin walls and obnoxious neighbors that drunk fought at 2 am. Place feels old and stuffy.

Great location; nice big room; just what I wanted. Car conveniently parked outside the door. Good breakfast from 06:00; good for my travel routine. Heating in the room not working; staff gave me a portable heater which worked well.
