It’s was the most affordable option, clean, but the bed was not great and you get what you paid for. I liked that it didn’t have carpet, and I liked that the AC blew cold….reminded me of a motel 6 but a little more modernish
- 5/5
You will need to bring a washcloth. They will supply you with a towel. My room was newly updated and very clean. Beautiful bathroom. I was surprised that this place was so nice for the price they charged. The women's room is right next to a brook/creek.

There was no hot water

Stayed 3 days. Pool was closed was told they aren't opening it. Property is old and needs updates. Grounds are sprawling with weeds in every Crack. Keycard quit working 2 nights in a row. Had to call on-call phone and wait for someone to come issue me new cards each time. Didn't have any hot water.

Exceptional
- 4/5
Nice place to stay. Check in staff should let customers know what is available and when.
- 3/5
Quick overnight stay. Rooms were cute but outdated. Was a little disappointed that the pool was closed, & there were no yard game amenities like it mentioned online.
- 3.5/5
Great location, walkable to historic downtown on the paved path right by the river, too. Unfortunately in the Durango area this is the most reasonable price we were able to find, so, I understand the adage "you get what you pay for". The room was not very clean, dusty floors, sheets had stains, bathroom had missing mouldings, window screen has holes... thankfully no mosquitos!
- 1/5
Our room was filthy.
- 3/5
Friendly staff and got the job done for a one night stay. Thought it was closed upon first seeing it. Front parking lot was in shambles with no cars visible. Curtains didn't fully cover the windows. Condition is generally run down. Without comparison of cost at other properties, not sure I'd stay again.
- 3.5/5
Location was ideal for me. I had to leave early so there was no breakfast Disappointed that the pool wasn't open. It was the main reason I booked
- 5/5
Everything was fine for the price
- 4/5
There was no breakfast. Need to fix the ice machine.
- 2.5/5
Passable
- 2/5
The pool was broken. The staff was not friendly and did not keep the coffee replenished. I got one cup in 3 days. The parking lot is very rough for motorcycles. The price was very affordable.
- 1/5
when i arrived the office was closed & I was unable to check in, there was a phone number to contact after hours but no one answered the phone. I had to find another hotel to stay that night, when i got ready to check out the office didn't open till 10:00 am and i was unable to get my 50,00 cash deposit. it cost me151.39 for the other hotel plus the 50.00 cash deposit

I love the price and location. Tv was not working, and the floor needed sweeping.
- 3/5
A little run down and there's no pool as advertised.

Others reviews were pretty accurate. AC was noisy but worked well. Room was in good condition and place was quiet. Good value for the cost.

This hotel had black mold painted over in the bathrooms. It was not clean in any area and the common areas (like the kitchen) look like they have not been cleaned in months with gunk and food everywhere. Pay a little more and stay somewhere else in Durango.
- 3/5
Very clean the room was no worth the money
- 1.5/5
Room - Clean. Bed - Uncomfortable, Breakfast - Nonexistent Night time emergency number NOT WORKING. Office NOT OPEN during posted hours.

The hotel was nice. Had a microwave and fridge. The bed was ok but you could feel all the springs and sitting on the edge kind of hurt your legs, although I did sleep pretty god on it. Location was good and close proximity to everything.

- 4/5
It was perfect for a one or two night stay in Durango. It’s a good location with easy check in & convenient parking. The fridge and kitchen were a great addition. Great value for the money! Room could have been cleaner, there was hair on the floor and food crumbs beside the bed! But overall a decent stay.
- 3.5/5
The Sheets Were stained but not just staying they looked a bit thicker like maybe they weren't washed also so did the towels and there was hair from the previous guests in the bathroom on the counters and in the shower
- 0.5/5
Unfortunately the staff forgot to put the keycard into the keybox for me. So I couldn't access my room and had to spend the night in my car. I couldn't reach anybody at 10 pm.
- 5/5
Great location! Wonderful staff
- 5/5
Great location. Very kind staff
- 4/5
The staff were great! For the price this is a good stay!
- 5/5
Got the place for my parents while they visited. They enjoyed the hotel very much.
- 4/5
The room had been cleaned very well, the walls, floors were scratched but that's just wear and tear. It was $100 a night, but clean and the AC and Heat worked great, fridge was cold and clean. A place to lay your head. The girl up front was very sweet, our tv didn't work and she switched our rooms immediately because she was the only one on staff.
- 2/5
Had to change room twice to get functional bathroom only on the second night. Only one staff member took the right action and was apologetic.
- 4/5
Room clean but not cleaned when staying in room.
- 2/5
First and foremost, the hostess was great. Very helpful. We slept good and Comfortably. Secondly, we had a very very bad check in. We arrived late and the office was closed. There's an ON CALL # that was posted on the front door for LATE checkins. I repeatedly called the # and left voicemails. No answer. My son an I spent our first paid night in the truck. I wasn't able to be checked in until the next morning.
- 2/5
La habitación estaba en malas condiciones, el baño sobre todo y las toallas y sábanas sucias y manchadas, es barato si, pero no lo justifica, no lo repetiría.
- 4/5
Great location great price. No coffee in the room, no extra pillows or ice machine but we were prepared for that. They do have coffee in the office and a kitchen and gathering area you can use
- 4/5
Like having the full kitchen available for guest use.
- 3/5
The location was good. The price was good. Nice setting deer on grounds in evening. There were not enough towels In the room for the reserved number of guests. Some towels looked off-color. The phone didn't ring the desk. There was no blow dryer or iron. No in-room coffee. Only coffee in office during specific morning hours. It was difficult to catch the desk person, she was friendly.
- 3/5
Great check in but they don't tell you about the $150.00 deposit until you check in. They still haven't released it to us too.
- 5/5
Great bunkroom, very comfortable
- 3/5
Carpet
- 3/5
Is ok
- 5/5
Amazing
- 3/5
Bed not very comfortable
- 5/5
Everything was super clean, staff was super nice. They even accommodated us by putting us on the first floor due to mobilize issues we didn't even have to ask.
- 4/5
Super friendly staff. Kitchen was pretty dirty, but had all the utensils needed. Beds were comfortable and room was spacious. Sheets were a bit stained. Overall, a good stop for a night stay.
- 4/5
I liked staying here because it was convenient to a nearby bus stop and it is quiet. The staff are nice.
- 1/5
The room was filthy, hair on pillows, the bathroom smelled like it had just been used.,there was also a white mystery stain on the night stand next to the bed. We cancelled our stay and stayed at another hotel.
- 1/5
I went to the office to tell them and found out we were put in the wrong room, we were supposed to be on the first floor. The room we were in had a checkout of that morning. I said NO, we were checking out on Sunday. She said she fixed it but when we got back to the room that evening, we were locked out and they have no one in the office. I called the number, she sent maintenance to open our room, we hadn't had dinner yet and decided instead of having to go through that again, we just door dashed (and the selection was not great) Will not stay there again.
- 4/5
Didn’t have a mountain view saw the high school though
- 1/5
Dirty: food crumbs and bugs in both rooms we were given. We ended up finding a new hotel and did not stay
- 3/5
The room was basic, yet clean and the beds were comfortable. Great value for the price. I would stay there again for sure. One part that could be improved would be the smell of marijuana that was persistent in the hallways and even our room.
- 2/5
The pictures on the listing are misleading. We ended up going to Walmart to purchase air freshener, towels and a few other items. The people below us bought a mattress topper and ask us if we were rearranging the whole room and all I was doing was lightly moving a chair across the floor. So, if you are just looking for a bed with four walls and a roof you will be fine.
- 2/5
When we go there the room felt muggy and we noticed quite a bit of stains in the towels and bed. We had the maintenance man lend us a heater because the room one didn’t work. There is no coffee machine in the room. We still stayed for two nights.
- 5/5
I stayed 1 night and only had one other person there. Kitchen area did need a little clean up, but there were many using it.
- 3/5
The entire time at the hotel we smelled weed. Room was clean. Bathroom toilet definitely needs adjusting. The staff was somewhat friendly.
- 5/5
Nice stay
- 5/5
We came out for a quick trip and needed and affordable place to stay. The Junction was reco
- 5/5
Comfortable beds, reliable Wifi, no carpet. This location is an easy walk to the river trail, where you can see deer and the Durango-Silverton steam train. Great place to stay with dogs!
- 4/5
This is a great location and value. The beds were uncomfortable but I still slept well.
- 3/5
Knowing what I had paid, I had reasonable expectations and they were met. Coffee is absolutely horrible. Bring a blanket as you essentially have two sheets to cover with—the bed cover is basically a sheet. There is a refrigerator in the lobby building and that’s the only source for ice. Be prepared to get ice elsewhere. It is what I expected.
- 4/5
the room was decent, just the bare minimum for sure, but it matched the good price for the time/day I stayed
- 1/5
So I show up about 30 minutes early, Dave completely ignores me as I’m standing there. Then he finally goes “what do you need?” I tell him I’m trying to figure out where our room is so I can park by our room as my wife and two dogs walk around the city (reasonable right?) He says “check in isn’t until 3” I tell him I’m just trying to park and he says “I’m doing something really important” (I’d say this falls under doing your job) and so I had to leave for 20 minutes. When I came
- 4/5
I appreciated the affordability of this location but feel there could be some improvement when it comes to cleanliness.
- 3/5
Staff was accommodating. Place needs to have some updates.
- 2/5
Property is run down and there were some odd looking people around. It’s ok for a quick night’s stay. I wouldn’t recommend it for women traveling alone.
- 1/5
We were beat and tired hence we just slept and checked out immediately after waking up. We had no other option at the short notice and took chance but at what cost. Alas a terrible place to stay at unless you are broke as f and have no interest living your life.
- 3/5
The river is a dry creek, may be water in spring
- 5/5
Nice stay
- 5/5
I loved the area and the staff was excellent.
- 3/5
No one to check you in after 9:30 makes for a hard time to find your room in the dark!
- 3/5
Bare bones basic Colorado mountains special. Bring your own personal care products (bargain basement bar soap & what appears to be blue dial in little wrappers labeled “conditioning shampoo” are provided though). Advertises housekeeping every three days, but did not show up. Expect to take your own trash out. I’m super tired of hotels milking the pandemic to bolster profits at the expense of proper hospitality.
- 1/5
The pictures don't match reality. Run down
- 2/5
This was a very cheap room so I didn’t expect perfection, but… The bathroom door was insanely scratched up…it looked like someone got stuck in there and had to claw their way out. There were blood spots on the bedspread of one bed so we didn’t use that one. There was hair on the bathroom floor. And the room had bleach fumes so bad that my eyes burned. You can also hear the toilets running in adjacent rooms.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff
- 2/5
The staff was friendly. I don't know what their deal is on toilet paper but there was none in my room or in the bathroom off the kitchen which is used by everyone. It also would have been a nice to have some disinfectant to keep the kitchen clean. All in all for what I paid it was a good value
- 4/5
Pet friendly.
- 3/5
It’s a hard pass for us.
- 3/5
Our visit was as expected. Room cleanliness was okay. Restroom vent was dirty and had not been cleaned lately! The bulbs were the least expensive that money can buy so the room was dark and gloomy. The A/C unit was very loud! You could not hear the tv without raising the volume when the unit was running. Oh and the ice machine was Out of service and did find until later that night after the office was closed.
- 3/5
STRICT 3:00 check in! Man at front desk was extremely rude. Laundry facility more than half out of order along with ice machine out of order. Plug ins by sink did not work.
- 2/5
The only thing that worked was the toilet and air conditioner! Fridge did not work, tv did not work, sink would not drain, tub faucet ran at the same time as the shower head, all the floors were so dirty we wouldn’t walk on barefooted and the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door obviously couldn’t be read because the cleaning (LOL) people knocked three times before moving loudly to the next room! Advertised picture must have been taken somewhere else, looks NOTHING like it!
- 5/5
As expected. Would return for a similar trip.
- 2/5
Just remember it's a hostile
- 3/5
The place had bed bugs
- 4/5
Good low-cost place to stay, the accommodations were fairly basic. The employees were pleasant and helpful.
- 3/5
This property is good for the younger crowd but if you are over 30 or prefer a quiet room I would recommend spending a few extra dollars and staying somewhere nicer. You can hear every movement from the other rooms. The guests in the room above mine sounded like they were playing football the first part of the evening. The property definitely needed sprucing up.
- 3/5
The noise of slamming doors was very loud. It did quite down at later. But if you wanted to sleep before 9 it wasn't really possible.
- 3/5
My main issue is their "dynamic" pricing. With very few rooms available in Durango when I was there, they raised their pricing to $100 per bed for the hostel when I called fairly late in the day looking for somewhere to stay. Would I stay there again? Only if nothing else were available.
- 1/5
The photos showed a clean, simple hostel, but the reality was shocking. When I arrived, the place was surrounded by drunken motorcyclists. Inside, the room was filthy — bugs crawling around, stains covering the bedding, poor lighting, and clearly not cleaned in a long time. The “linens” wouldn’t be acceptable even in a jail. The only clean part was the shower and toilet. I asked the front desk (CJ) for a refund, and while he admitted I deserved one, he couldn’t provide it. This property is a complete misrepresentation and a rip-off at $155. Avoid at all costs.
- 4/5
Front desk personnel was excellent, room was ok could use some cosmetic touches, beds not so comfortable, location was convenient, parking easy, pool was clean, on the down side walls and ceiling not so well insulated could hear neighbors above and on sides, thankfully it was only for a short time
- 2/5
Old outdated dingy most stained lumpy mattress I’ve ever seen in my life dirty swimming pool looks better online
- 2/5
Not a nice place, there is too much noise coming from other rooms, if someone takes a shower in one room close to yours you can feel it as if you are inside the shower, so noisy, you can hear conversations, steps, etc.
- 5/5
I love the close access to the Animas river trail which I enjoy walking on into town and to restaurants. And after a powerful afternoon thunderstorm I watched as Junction Creek briefly became a fast flowing creek on its way to the nearby Animas river.
- 5/5
Good hotel
- 4/5
Loved the full kitchen. Rooms were basic and could use a paint touch up but were otherwise clean and functional. Definitely will return.
- 5/5
Area was nice and close to dinning and activities.
- 4/5
Was ok
- 4/5
Very nice, but the river that runs beside it is not a river. The room smelled like cat pee in the back part. Had a king size bed with only three flat pillows. Besides that it was great
- 2/5
/Hostel who was most apologetic. Hopefully they will do a deep clean
- 4/5
I think the rooms, at least mi e need repainting. Staff was excellent.
- 2/5
Bed was so-so, not great, very old mattress. Pillows were awful, made me glad I travel with some from home. Gnats in the room the first night all over the two main lights, not so bad the second night. Coffee in the office only is for the birds.. didn’t like that I can’t make coffee in the room. The pool was cool but clean and usable.
- 4/5
Hotel was good for a stop over on the way through. Clean and tidy, but you can hear people moving around and chatting.... some decided moving furniture at 5am was important...
- 5/5
Pretty good for cheap hotel
- 3/5
Not a bad little spot but water pressure and shower is long overdue for a repair. Expensive for what you get but comparable for the area. Overall not bad and would happily come back
- 3/5
We found it to not be so clean it was a place to lay our head down and that was it
- 5/5
Everyone that works jere are very professional and efficiently!
- 3/5
The Junction is very much a basic "ski" basecamp and hostel. Nothing fancy but it fit our needs for the one night we were there.
- 5/5
Customer service was great
- 3/5
You get what you pay for. A no frills place. Bed was clean and comfortable. Drain in shower worked, as did the diverter spout for the shower/tub and bathroom sink.
- 2/5
I arrived early (1 hour) in hopes to get into the room early if possible prior to taking family to the airport. The room was not ready which was absolutely fine and understandable so we were able to wait by the pool. As the hour went by and got closer to check in we went back to the front desk and were finally given a key and access after waiting a few minutes for staff to come back. It seemed like the staff may have been rushing as the room wasn't fully cleaned. There was dirt on the floor and the small fridge was full of the previous tenants food.
- 3/5
Pictures online are misleading. Community kitchen is a total disaster. Appliances in the room are outdated but functional. Experience is overall what you would expect from an "updated" motel.
- 3/5
Average hotel in a fair location
- 5/5
The room was clean. It was a great deal for the price. And there is a stream right behind the property. Nice location near everything.
- 4/5
This property was great for a quick overnight stay with our dogs. They gave us a downstairs room & there is green space to walk our dogs & a small creek behind. However, the people hanging out around the motel seemed unsafe.
- 1/5
They canceled my reservation at 8 pm. Had to find a place last minute.
- 5/5
Great place to stay in Durango.
- 2/5
It's a cheap place but the bathroom was dirty. In fact it wasn't cleaned. The property needs some serious work. The worst was i had to payca cash deposit because you couldnt use the card you paid for the room with.
- 4/5
The hotel room for our family of 4 was just the right size and clean. It had television with good channels and mirrors outside of bathroom so i could do makeup when someone else was in the bathroom. It was a great shower! Great location with the river trail behind the hotel and a nearby stop for the free trolley. We used the trolley a lot since there were not any rental cars available in town. My only complaint was the mattress was not very good. Otherwise, it was quiet at night and great coffee each morning in the lobby. We would definitely come back to stay here.
- 5/5
Helpful staff plus flexibility with check-out time, plus nice riverside walk not far away.
- 4/5
It was very spartan.
- 5/5
Everything was good!
- 4/5
We had an amazing stay with the Junction Hotel, the kids loved the pool, it was very close to downtown and near the Recreation center which the kids also loved. The staff was great as well as the property being very well kept.
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean it smelled great friendly staff property being kept up
- 5/5
Was a really nice place to stay, really scenic. Has a nice little stream in the back where people were fishing and some deer came and visited us while we were there.
- 4/5
Short drive to downtown
- 5/5
Nice quiet place, even being a hostel. Very convenient to Durango amenities
- 4/5
Sadi/Front Desk Staff & Pena/Jose’ from housekeeping = very accommodating, patient, kind! I like that kitchen facility/community room is available at all hours, reasonably separated from main, sleeping quarters & - - hence - - noise from use of same isn’t disruptive. Although I didn’t swim, several guest mentioned enjoying the pool. ‘The Junction’ is an affordable stay in a lovely location w/friendly staff!
- 4/5
Sadi/front desk staff & Pena/Jose’ from housekeeping = very accommodating, patient, helpful & kind! Although I didn’t swim, several folks stated they enjoyed the pool. I like the fact that the kitchen/community room is available for use at all hours, separate from the main, sleeping areas - - hence noise re use of the same isn’t disruptive.
- 4/5
Unique property from the early 1900’s
- 4/5
The Junction provided a safe, clean place for our needs. Nice surprise to see how close it was to a beautiful walking path near the river. We enjoyed getting into downtown Durango along this path.
- 3/5
The room and bed were about what you would expect for a Hostel that shares a room with other people. It was a hot day and AC didn’t work so had to leave window open and that was next to a busy highway. Of not for the heat, would have been fine.
- 4/5
I was confused about the hostel part, but it is basically an older motel that has been renovated, with a small hostel in another building. It was well kept, with a small area for picnicking beside a stream in the back
- 4/5
Was good
- 5/5
Really a very comfortable hotel, super easy to come in and out mas the place was peaceful and clean
- 5/5
The room was nice and clean. Im giving them a 4 for comfort just because that bed was to hard for my liking. But the location is great. It was nice and quiet. We sat out by the pool and enjoyed the afternoon and watched a few deer run across the street. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend
- 3/5
Yes, it’s a hostel, but it could use some major TLC
- 5/5
Needs elevator or more rooms for handicap.
- 1/5
Do not recommend this hotel. They never came and cleaned the room or changed out the towels during our 3 day hotel. We were taking a nap and a maintenance man walked into the room did not knock first.
- 4/5
Ice machine in our building broken sitting our 4 day stay. Air con had difficulty keeping up. Loved the location on the creek and steps from the river, walkable location, popular app for bikers. They also allow pets!
- 4/5
Great for dog friendly stay bc of the surrounding grassy area, stream flowing, and walkable park.
- 5/5
Great customer service. Clean room
- 3/5
Price
- 5/5
good
- 5/5
Friendly, helpful, resourceful, welcoming. One of the team members was in training. It was his very first day. You would have never known. So that was a good hire because he was so personable.
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
No issues. Had an issue with the report. Called front desk and they fixed issues in a few minutes.
- 2/5
Needs major updating on the rooms.
- 5/5
Had a great stay, staff very helpful and friendly.
- 4/5
Cozy and great price for a quick stay.
- 2/5
The paper thin walls and sounds from the next room. No breakfast was included and parking was limited and the parking lot was dark. Location was the only plus about this property. Staff was not friendly but served their purpose to check in and check out. Housekeeping were friendly and said Hello.
- 5/5
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable.
- 1/5
I've paid the same price for better!!!
- 3/5
Would have loved it as a college student but as adult in his 40s I would opt for a more comfortable hotel. The rooms were relatively clean the major complaint was the comfort of the beds and the walls were very poorly insulated so you could hear your neighbors.
- 4/5
It’s basic. Good for a night or two max. Room didn’t have any hand soap in the restroom
- 1/5
We ended up having to leave at 10 pm due to pounding on the wall and yelling. People were loitering around the building and we did not feel safe. The pictures looked nothing like the room and the smell was horrible. We will not be staying here again!
- 4/5
I believe that they had occupants living there, so there was upstairs noise, of stomping and furniture being dragged. But other than that, no complaints!
- 5/5
Very inexpensive, clean, accommodating and wonderful friendly staff. I stay here twice a year minimum. It’s great.
- 4/5
It was great. Upstairs people ran water all night and you could hear it. The tv offered screen casting didn’t work. Overall was great!
- 4/5
It was quant and bed comfortable
- 4/5
Nothing fancy but just what we needed! Clean and quiet and friendly staff.
- 3/5
I enjoyed my stay as the customer service helped resolve hotels.com not paying for my room, which i paid hotels.com for in advance. One issue I would hope could be fixed was the shower. Each time I showered the water would jump from scalding hot to freezing cold, and I could not get it to an acceptable temperature. Looking it up online i realized there is a problem with either the shower valve or the adjustment of the temperature. This resulted in having to take much longer showers which wasted water because I could not stand directly in the stream of water. If this could be resolved I would greatly appreciate it.
- 1/5
On my return to my room after 1:00 AM I was unable to get in building to room. A gentleman finally came and let me in the building with the master key. Let me into my room with master key. He was unable to update my two key cards so I had to lock open my door in order to retrieve my things in car. Once in couldn’t get heater started. Finally just got in my car and drove home, never messed the bedding up!
- 4/5
The staff were really kind and helpful. They made my late check in process a smoother one. It was so convenient to walk around. It had both quiet places and was easily accessible from the main street. The property management should work on fixing a couple of small damages within the room and also need to ensure everything is clean and clear before check ins.
