Super 8 by Wyndham Durango

This is an older but well maintained property. The rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good (thanks Chef Matt). The only negative is that the air conditioner in the room was very loud. Other than that, we had a good stay,

Had a very good stay here. Staff very friendly at check in and all the other times we spoke to them. Comfortable beds and shower really good. Slept well. Cant comment on breakfast as I'm a coeliac and always bring my own for cross contamination purposes. Staff very helpful when we needed extra bedding or towels. It's a good spot for downtown Durango and steam train. Gluten-free Grassburger across the road very handy. A very good stay overall.

This is an older hotel but had been updated nicely. Our room was clean and spacious, bed was comfortable. Hotel location is convenient to most things, including the historic area. Breakfast was good, the chef was friendly, and was around and attentive to keeping the food replenished. He interacted with the guests, making suggestions for things to do in the area. All of the staff we saw were friendly.

The front desk agents were so nice and helpful. I didn’t grab the gentleman who checked us in but there was an issue with the room given to us and he immediately changed us room and came upstairs to give us the new keys and take the old one back. Also Natalie was so kind and I give all staff members including the breakfast person two thumbs up ?? Everything was perfect.

Let me start by saying that my first impression when I walked into the lobby was WOW. The room was huge. There was a game of billiards going on when I walked in. I don't think I have ever seen that in a hotel before. The room was clean. The mirror in the bathroom made me feel like a movie star. We went out to eat for dinner so we didn't use the fridge or microwave but it was nice that the option was there. The bed was comfortable. I woke up a lot but I don't think it was the bed. There was a lot of door slamming in the hallway until around 10 but then I don't recall anything but silence. Breakfast was good. There were 3 choices if eggs, sausage pizza, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, biscuits and gravy. I left breakfast stuffed. My only complaint is a lack of charging ports. We were on vacation so I had camera batteries to charge, phones to charge and photos to transfer onto my laptop. I had to use the ports in my laptop to charge my batteries. I made it work but more USB ports would be nice.

The only problem I had was that the bed was very lumpy and worn out. GM said they were in the process to renovate the hotel. So I’m sure that will change.

The place was nothing that I imagined. The photo overcompensated the whole place. I walk in and there’s no area except just a small tiny front desk, totally unprofessional. But before I had walked into the wrong door but viewed the hallway anyway and then had a strong distinct odor that was not pleasant. The parking area was not very well yet and it did not seem safe to stay there so I chose somewhere else more accommodating in cleaner and much more safer. So in other words, I did not care to stay there.

The hotel breakfast was fantastic - lots of variety and hot food choices! Staff was very friendly and helpful especially when my grandson got sick in the middle of the night. The room itself was nothing fancy - very basic, but clean. It met our needs for a place to sleep. Overall, it was a good budget friendly hotel with a great breakfast.

Location is outside downtown but very easy to get to. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms and entire place is clean and newly painted and well maintained . The value is good. We only had the breakfast one day and they ran out of pancakes so get there early. It’s a nice little selection (eggs, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, pasties, pancakes). If you are not a heavy sleeper I suggest the third floor because you can hear the movement from the upstairs when you stay on the first or second floor. Sometimes we could hear our neighbors snoring. None of these things bother us but I thought I’d share for people that are more picky

We missed breakfast as it ends kind of early for us. There was no HOT water in the shower in the evening - it was just warmish. Bed was comfy. Property is dated, but the room was clean.

After a long (and slightly soul-testing 😅) trip with my sister — who could turn a scenic drive into a survival challenge 🙃 — this Durango hotel was a shining beacon of peace. 🏨✨ Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, it was the cozy sanctuary my frazzled nerves desperately needed. The staff were absolute gems, the vibe was serene, and honestly… I might just move in. A perfect, blissful ending to a painfully memorable adventure. 💅🌲🚗

Bathroom sink basin was extremely slow to drain...needed a good cleanout; but otherwise room was clean.

Did not like the amount of dogs in the lobby and in the hallways! Dogs shouldn’t be allowed in the rooms.

Convenient location and price was very affordable compared to other hotels in the area. Their breakfast was amazing. Loved that they offered ice tea and non packet oatmeal.

We’ve stayed here two years in a row for the ska brewing anniversary concert and it’s surprisingly nice for a budget chain hotel. Rooms were clean and updated. Service was great. Even the free breakfast was surprisingly good.

We happen to hit this hotel on the big motorcycle weekend event. There was a lot of noise as motorcycles were coming in and out. They were very accommodating. The breakfast was very good. The room was clean. The staff was very nice. There was laundry room facilities downstairs that cost two dollars for a wash and two dollars for a dry There was a fridge in a microwave in the room.

The staff were nice. The breakfast was good, but the same everyday. The vending machines stayed empty for our 3 day stay. We had a leak in our room the last night of our stay. The management blamed on the rain we had the day before but it started when the room above us started their shower. They said that they did not have another room for us and did not offer any discount, just left towels. The price was good but not sure we would go back.

We were there for a week and let me tell you, we were treated like royalty. Matt and Marco kept a yummy hot breakfast fully prepared every morning. You have to try the automatic pancake maker. We were like kids watching it make perfect delicious pancakes each time. LOL! Liana, Corina, Lorena and a young sweet guy (forgot to get his name)kept us stocked up on things we needed or forgot. We loved how the employees took pride in keeping the outside and inside clean. They seemed to really enjoy their job which can be hard in the hotel industry. My honey and I use the phrase,”It’s a place to lay our head.” when we come across a place that may not look like much but Super 8 in Durango was more than that. They made us feel like we were at home. Everyone we came across were so friendly and we hope everyone who stays here gets the same treatment. My honey and I believe you get more with honey than vinegar, so you get what you give and Super 8 in Durango made it easy.

It’s fine — tired after a backpacking trip and step into office and… it’s big-time crowded. Long line to check-in, but when get to room it’s fine. Decently put together, though it’s warm. When you walk in and previous occupant has turned AC down as low as it goes, well, guess it wasn’t just me…Otherwise everything worked fine. It’s a bit on the out skirts of town, but ok.

This place is run down. I requested a late check out. Instead of saying no, the person at the desk was very vague about it. Said it shouldn't be a problem. But while I was out in the morning the housekeeping staff started cleaning my room before checkout time. Staff not at all helpful.

We were just passing by and needed a place to spend the night. It was a good hotel with delicious breakfast and friendly staff. We enjoyed dinner outside on their front patio set up with tables and chairs .

Very good service and surprisingly nice hot breakfast. Carpet and furniture are old and worn, but the bed is nice. Public Level 2 EV Charging nextdoor (not associated with hotel) is reliable and offers a good overnight rate.

This was a clean hotel. The breakfast was above average. For the price per night it was a good value. Location is about 5 minutes from the center of town where most of the good restaurants are located. We would stay here again for sure.

Absolutely worst hotel stay in the last 20 years. Air conditioner would not cool room despite visits from 2 different staff members to fix it. 1rst night room finally got tolerable around 2AM. 2nd night after midnight before room was fit to sleep in. Bed was uncomfortable with terrible "pilled" lumps in the sheet, bathroom was cramped. Entire facility was "tired" with wear & tear, corner crud, etc. Their idea of a room darkening shade was tattered as if cats were using it for climbing. We wanted to do laundry but the staff was using the laundry area for folding towels & what appeared to be child care. Elevator lurches and bangs was unnerving. The luggage carts were wobbly with one being held together with duct tape. Breakfast was the only bright spot; it was tasty, served early and the gentleman taking care of it was SUPERB.

One of the best 8's I've stayed in.

I did an early checkout on the phone, but it was not taken care of at the desk. I waited longer to get my room than if I would have just checked in at the desk. I did have a key issue with the room and the management addressed it quickly.

The Super 8 in Durango, CO is an older facility that has been upgraded. It was clean and well maintained. The bed was excellent. Breakfast was good and the staff was well trained and helpful. When we searched for lodging in Durango on-line, it was also the most reasonably priced option we found.

I don’t know if this is normal, but it was a landing spot for construction workers. Every morning and every evening it was extremely noisy. Vehicles were parked, heltor skelter so it was hard to get your car in and out of the parking lot.

It was conveniently located near downtown! The A/C unit was a little loud. But for the money, you couldn’t beat it!!

Enjoyed our 3 night stay

I asked for 2 pillows because we were 4 in the bedroom and each one of us use 2 pillows, the staff stated that the hotel was full and she didn’t have any. I had to insisted and then she accepted to gave me the pillows by telling me she needs to add them to my room so in the morning they will know we had extra pillows. The amenities weren’t in the room, only one soup and one shampoo for 4 people.

We love the location of this Super 8 it’s not overpriced. They’re always very motorcycle friendly offered cleaning rags to wipe down our bikes with. Clean the rooms every day without asking. We always stay here and never disappointed.

Nice place with a good breakfast. For EV owners there are 4 Level 2 chargers across the street at the utility company. Low rates during off peak hours. Only a few minute drive to the train ride and Main Steet shops and restaurants!

Efficient checkin

The toilet seat was broken but they came right up and fixed it. The next morning our granddaughter told us she wouldn’t get under the sheets because there was blood on them. We checked and it was so visible the maid couldn’t have missed it .
