Regal Inn - Chicago O'Hare Airport

Stayed Fri-Sun with my 14-year-old for a very popular weekend music festival nearby. Very nice and welcoming night staff and amazing CCTV setup on monitors in the lobby made us feel less anxious and safe. The room was decently clean with a fridge, microwave, and updated bath/shower combo. $275 was a fair price for a room less than 3 weeks before the festival weekend. Unfortunately, the property has some issues. The hallways smell heavily of mildew, and the indoor humidity made the bedding feel constantly damp. The Wi-Fi was highly unstable, the room phone was broken (possibly from bad weather the night before checking in), and the deadbolt was tough to lock. Worst of all, I found a crack pipe stashed inside the main AC vent. Having to explain that to my teenager was incredibly frustrating. Front desk staff apologized and removed it quickly, but offered no partial refund or compensation for the oversight. Make sure you do your own extensive room inspection if you stay here to avoid any issues.

this is a dingy motel along a busy street- not a place for pedestrians, cleanfreaks, or for anyone looking for a decent restaurant. The bed and bathroom were fine, though, and the front desk staff were helpful and friendly. Catch the 330 bus on Mannheim for a $2, 30-minute ride to O'Hare.

Door to my room 104 needs replacing as it has big gaps where you can see daylight on the sides. Had to put up with lot of noise from woman talking on cell phone as she walked back and forth in front of my door. I told the front desk clerk and she had the woman stop doing that until she began making the same disturbance the next morning.

The shower knob was broken and I didn’t notice it til the last minute and when I went to turn it on it did not want to shut off again and then I sled for towels and tissue never received the refrigerator was not irking properly and they did not want to return my deposit because they said I was the cause of the water not turning off and on top of that I left my charger and my headphones and they did not want to return the items the front staff lady and her husband were working in their language hence I was trying to get my deposit me laughing working in their language

I struggle with even writing this because the staff was so friendly. But please be aware that the pictures provided are very outdated. The hotel themselves look to have aged 20 years since the pictures were taken. The bedding was not very comfortable and at times smelled like cigarette smoke. Outside of these issues the area was quiet and always had parking available.

For the price, it was an amazing stay. If you need a cheap place to stay before flying out or even before visiting the city, I would definitely stay here.

I will start by, when I checked in the first think out of the hostess mouth was NO VISITORS, first time I heard that from a hotel/motel. Second the door for the room is dirty, door and wood trim in the bathroom is disgusting, toilet seat is loose, tiles in the bathroom are cracked, carpet is torn and dirty.

Very dated..needs improvement..clean but even the curtains had moth holes in them. Water pressure from the shower wasn't great but it was hot.

I loved the stay, it was more of the attitude from the lady in reception. Checked in was ok, but when she was letting me know the rules I already knew, she got kind of loud and a bit nasty. Other than that, everything was clean and the Ac/Heater works very well. Not everyone is the same so please don’t be nasty when people check in.

To quote my son “ this place definitely gives the murder scene vibe, but it’s clean the door locks work and I feel safe” He had no complaints about any of the stay for the one night at this hotel, and don’t judge book by its cover. Everyone was very helpful for my son who was stranded for just one night.

It’s a great value for money. The place is simple and organized. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, but I also wouldn’t say it’s dirty. The Wi-Fi in my room didn’t work properly at all. There was always only one bar of signal, and even when it connected, it was extremely slow. For example, watching reels or videos was basically impossible. I stayed in another room at a different time and had exactly the same issue. The Wi-Fi only worked properly near the reception area or on the other side of the hotel, but in the rooms located in the middle there was almost no signal. Also, the key cards got demagnetized many times, even though we were not keeping them close to phones or other cards.

This is our 4th or 5th time in Chicago and this is always our go to hotel because the people are super nice and easy to get to everything you need. Priced very well too.

I am not want to complain but this place was not it. Once I got here, my Uber driver told me to be careful as the area is dangerous for a young lady my age. Wi-Fi wasn’t working . Some people were discussing it to the lady at the front desk who was giving them much attitude, saying it was not her problem. I booked this thinking it was a hotel than got my room key for the motel room, that was my fault for not doing more research. It was a little sketchy getting to my room. The deadbolt did not work on the door and there was people screaming outside my window most of the evening the bathroom was pretty gross. The toilet had things in it and the bathtub had hair inside. I wanted to take a bath to wash off the long day I had but the tub drain was not working and the mat in the tub had rust and yellow underneath it. I was only there since my flight was delayed for a day and I needed something to stay in. I booked it thinking it was an 8.9 star out of 10, but honestly, I did not feel very safe or happy. The bed was comfortable and I did tell the front desk in the morning about my issues and she said that I could write a feedback email. I do not recommend.

The hotel may be a little dated and small but the rooms are clean and comfortable. We have been using Regal Inn for our one night stay before flights out of O'Hare now for several years. It is very convenient for our early morning departures and is priced within our budget, will certainly be returning for future stays.

I loved the convenience from OHare airport and price point was great!! It was a bit dingy and we had two dirty pillow cases but it was so late we didn’t make any requests, we just didn’t use them. That being said, I would stay there again for the convenient location and price.

It was a great stay for the price. The outside looked like your typical motel. There was some water damage on the wall and the bathroom has a lot of cracks and the sealant was coming off the tub. But overall the sheets were clean, the bed was firm, and the room had an update AC. For a short stay I would definitely recommend!

Check in took a while because of company bookings that were not set up ahead of time. Took about an hour to get checked in. After that the stay was fine. AC worked, room was clean and comfortable.

Cheap does not bring quality

Overall, my stay was okay. When I first got into my room I checked the bed and found some spots using my UV light. I immediately brought it to the attention of the front desk and they were very quick to move me to another room which was very clean though there was a faint smell of smoke that I think was coming from down the hallway. The air conditioner in my room worked great but would not turn off no matter what button I pressed. I ended up having to unplug it from the wall so that my room would not freeze during the night. Ultimately the room served its purpose and I was able to sleep through the night.

We arrived early as our plane flew in at 8:30. We got a taxi from O'Hare that cost us $70(too much). When we got to hotel, we were told we could only stay in lobby for 15 minutes which had no TV and hardly a chair to set in. We decided to leave our luggage; the receptionist took it to the laundry room as we were hoping it would be safe. We were told that we could not get into room until 1 p.m. We went across the street for breakfast and just hung around as we did not want to rent a car. The room was nice and clean, but the rugs were so dirty that immediately my bare feet were black. The luggage was returned to us ; all safe.

It served its purpose. Clean and quiet. Not luxury by any means. Most of the people were drivers or workers, so felt safe and knew it’d be quiet.

we knew we weren’t staying at the ritz but this experience was still a bit worse than i would have even expected. it had shockingly good reviews so i trusted it- and was wrong :( #1 it’s super far away from downtown chicago. the hotel is not in a great area at all also, i didn’t feel totally unsafe but i didn’t want to walk around late at night. its about a 50 minute drive or hour + long bus and train ride into downtown. when we got there the AC was off in our room so it was super hot and we couldn’t figure out how to turn it back on because the buttons on the fan wasn’t working. we figured it out via thermostat but still the room never really cooled off the way i would have wished. i kept trying to reset the system and eventually was successful but it was towards the end of our stay anyway. we only stayed for two nights and got back quite late the second night and neither of our room keys worked. the office was closed but someone from the staff just happened to be walking around to let us in, said it had been “demagnetized” and offered no other apology or explanation, or new room keys. thankfully we were checking out the next day and didn’t need them but had we been staying longer we certainly would’ve needed new keys. the room was okay, a bit gross in the carpet and shower but the bed was clean and comfortable (i inspected sheets and mattress thoroughly). the deadbolt in our door didn’t work properly and i had to force it to turn, and it was prone to getting stuck.

There also seems to be a drug business going on in the parking lot as me and my partner noticed people meeting up at the parking lot driving in and out doing exchanges. Our uber drivers also told us we were in a “ghetto” area. If you’re looking for a place to sleep with affordable pricing I think you can find something much better!

It was reasonably priced

When we opened the door to our room, we were literally hit with a blast of cleanliness. The room smelled so clean, was so clean. It was very refreshing. The AC worked very well and the bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. The frigde and microwave worked well, tho I wished there had been one of those individual coffee makers in the room. Would definitely stay here again.

We had an early flight out of Ohare and wanted something close and inexpensive. This perfectly fit the bill!

There was a microwave and a small refrigerator in the room. The mattress was just firm enough for very comfortable sleeping. Everyone I came into contact with during my stay was very friendly.

Great location, fairly close to the airport. The rooms were basic, but clean and the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again.

Home away from I always enjoy my stay at Regal Inn

Located within 15 minutes to O’Hare airport and to Donald Stephens Convention Center, Regal Inn provided a clean, well priced room with microwave oven and mini fridge. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Loved the ease of getting into downtown Chicago and various foodie destinations.

Couple of things: Seemed that everyday our room key needed to be reprogrammed (saying that my phone was somehow responsible for that was both confusing and a lie). We arrived on an early flight and the front desk was adamant about a 3pm check in although the motel didn’t seem to be fully booked

Tv was broke, the entire building smelled like smoke that had soaked into the carpet and walls. Very run down facility compared to what I’m use to. I left 20 minutes after arrival and went to another hotel.

Good hospitality

If price is your priority, this may be your place. I picked it because it was about $70 less than anything nearby and it had good ratings on all the hotel sites. It was adequate enough, so I’d probably stay here again. The room was clean, the mattress was comfortable. The bathroom also was clean, however the sink drained very slowly, so I brushed my teeth over the bathtub. The sink also lacked a stopper. The shower head produced a somewhat weak stream, and it made a high-pitched, squealing noise while it was in use. What the photos don’t show you is that this is an old-fashioned motel with doors that open to the outside. Access to the second floor is by a metal stairway that could use some paint. In the parking lot, two dumpsters were filled to overflowing with mattresses. Did they just replace all of them? I’m not sure how this motel gets ratings of 8-plus, but it exceeds what people might expect for the price.

I didn't like anything about this place , Room.The lady at the front desk was Rude . the first room we got , had BLOOD STAINS on the SHEETS. Bathroom faucet was all WABBLY , ROOM SMELLED LIKE CIGARETTE SMOKE. Room 2 , Room was Smelly , Bathroom Faucet was Wabbly. , Door Lock looked like someone Busted it open. Maintenance guy came around 10:00 , pm , to fix it , Deadbolt lock didn't work , TV ,Didn't work. Remot Didn't even have a back , The Maintenance guy , said them rooms were recently Renovated , That was definitely a Lie , Hall way Carpets had Big STAINS , , there was a guy sitting on the steps listening to music from a speaker , had to walk around him. The front desk lady , said they had Cameras , all over , there was a guy and 2 girls , getting into a room through the screen on the ground floor , if i would have known , i definitely wouldn't of made reservations here , who ever made the other comments , LIED , Its Should Be Rated -100 , out of 10 , I Booked through Expedia , they definitely need to send people to these Hotels Motels , to see what they really look like , DONT STAY AT THIS NAST , DIRTY , BROKE DOWN PLACE

The stay was good and the location was very good

The only thing that saved this place is that it was mostly clean. Everything in the room was broken or falling apart. No batteries in the tv remote, and no battery cover. Pillows were like rocks, the furniture looked like it had been salvaged from a junk yard, and the curtains were rotting off the rods. I didn't have time to get photos.

This place was disgusting. There was hair all over the shower wall and dirt all over the bathroom. It’s like the room was never cleaned.

Comfortable stay

I'll admit, driving into the area I was initially concerned. But it turns out that my concerns were not warranted. The staff was nice and friendly (even when I had to come back and get my key card reissued in the middle of the night). The room was in good shape and clean. They were undergoing renovations at this time (currently replacing all the windows throughout the entire property). So they are making improvements one project at a time, I guess, but they are trying and I give them credit for that.

We came to front desk again and at this time he told me they ran out of all double bed rooms and gave me king bed room. The TV was not operative and the furniture was broken in the room. The room sees like a junk storage room. A horrible experience.

It was conveniently located No frills But clean & safe & $56 made it the perfect quick stay. The beds were fine, pillows cheap. But again we were there for only about 12 hours to catch a morning flight so it was great.

The motel is very run down and in a poor state of repair.the carpets need a really good clean, they were filthy. The curtains were threadbare and full of holes. The furniture was falling apart and the hair dryer did not work. I asked for a non smoking room and was given one that had been smoked in, it smelt awful. I was so tired after a 22 hour journey that I just needed to sleep and just made do. I did not sleep very well as I was conscious of the tobacco smell. I would not stay here again, neither could I recommend it.

1st day was great 2nd day an hour after I rebook the room, water was shut off.

I’ve stayed at this property over a dozen times and always had a great experience. With that being said, instead of checking out I rebook the room. To my surprise at about noon the water was shut off. Long story short, they told me it’ll be back on in half hour. When I checked out the next day still no water. They didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience. I understand dealing with an emergency (although it seemed more like planned remodeling) but they didn’t notify me, apologize, or thank me. Again I do want to say, it’s Usually a 4-5 star experience with them and this is the only bad experience I’ve had with them.

Overall it was just a place to stay. One of the beds in our room was ROCK solid, and the bath area was not as clean as I would have liked. For the cheap price, it was fine, but if youre looking for true comfort, I'd find somewhere else!
