Best Western Plus O'Hare International South Hotel

The room was fairly dirty, not the worst.I've ever seen but not good. The place in general was pretty run down. The pool was broke down. We were not told about that prior.

We chose this location because it is close to O'Hare airport and has a shuttle service. I emailed the hotel when I booked, and other emails, inquiring about the shuttle and if we could leave our car at the hotel while on our trip. Never got a response. When we checked in, found out the shuttle only starts at 0500am, not a 24 hour shuttle as offered by other hotels, and it was already full. We needed an earlier shuttle due to our flight time. If they had responded to the emails I had sent, we would have known about shuttle times and would have booked elsewhere.

Very convenient to airport, quiet and clean. Website said shuttle was free--$20 each way. And stopped running at 11pm.

On the last day of our stay we did not receive housekeeping service so our room was not cleaned, which resulted in no fresh linen. When asked for fresh linen there was none only the floor mat and was told we could not receive any fresh linen until 9am the next day. This was frustrating because we had an early morning flight. We were given floor mats to use to bathe, which is so inappropriate. Other than that we had a fairly okay experience.

Overall experience was pleasant

There is nothing plus about this Best Western Plus. Sure you save few dollars but it’s not worth it. The room, the bed, the towels, and the breakfast are all subpar. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Beware of this property. The airport shuttle transportation is not 24 hour as stated. The staff is rude and not accommodating. They start the transportation at 7am so if you have an early flight this is not the hotel for you. Also the hotel rooms are severely old and outdated. Scratched furniture and dimly lit rooms. There are other hotels on this street such as the Hampton Inn that are way better and have 24 hour transportation. Be warned if you stay here.

Great breakfast and helpful staff, especially when we arrived late on one of the nights and the parking lot was full. The rooms are okay and clean.

Room was clean. The staff very friendly & helpful. Airport transfer went well except the transfer vehicle was a minivan. It was a tight fit for our group of 5 plus luggage.

Breakfast was supposed to run until 9am. Because I had arrived late the previous day, I arrived at 10 minutes before 9. There were still quite a few people eating. The eggs were empty and the other items were either mostly gone or gone entirely. I helped myself to what was there, thinking they would refill the eggs. They never did, even though they were supposed to still be serving. They also shut off the juice machine at 9, even though many people were still eating. I will not be staying there again.

There were blood looking stains on bed skirts and the mattress cover had staining. There was a soap bar that was opened. Somebody already used it, and I accidentally washed my hands with it. The door did not lock all the way, and someone next to us were being intimate and you could hear it through the wall. The rating was listed as 7 and Good by this sure and it definitely was not! The shuttle service was a minivan and if you didn’t get signed up on the list early enough, you were on your own to make your way to the airport. We ended up sleeping in our clothing on top of the sheet because we didn’t have enough time to find another hotel room This site only gave me back $50 credit would not give me the full refund

Had an enjoyable stay. My room was clean, quiet, comfortable, and spacious. It seemed to be recently renovated. Excellent full breakfast. Staff was friendly and quick to respond. Art at the front desk was very helpful in arranging the shuttle. The airport shuttle to the hotel took longer than expected. But, there was heavy traffic in and out of the airport at that time. So most shuttles were probably somewhat late.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff were always helpful and kind. There was always fresh food to eat. The WiFi worked well too. Overall, the stay was pretty great, would totally recommend it.

As far as the airport shuttle, Expedia needs to update their information as the shuttle does not run 24/7. If you actually go on site for the hotel, it gives the hours the shuttle runs. We had to get/pay for an Uber (which the hotel helped us get). The shuttle picked us us after returning from vacation and it was very smooth!

Update your Expedia information, they do not have 24/7 shuttle to the airport and that's the main reason why I chose this hotel. We ended up having to pay $30 for a driver to pick us up and shuttle us for a 10 minute ride.

The staff was remarkable. There was a very strong smell of some kind of air freshener in the lobby, good smell, not bad but overbearing. I am very sensitive to smells and it took a lot for me to get through the registration process. Thank goodness the room did not smell like that.

I stay at hotels near O'Hare all the time. This one is a hidden gem. Rooms very clean. Staff friendly. Close to airport. Very clean. Room actually has enough artificial light that you can see!' Only downside is shuttle does not start running until 5:30 am and am not sure what time it ends but not 24 hr service.

Old hotel, room smelled like it used to be smoked in. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was decent. Price was right. If i had a complaint, it would be the shuttle. I booked the room with intentions of utilizing the shuttle, but was later informed that it only ran during the day. Our flight came in at midnight. I was forced to pay $35.00 for a taxi instead. Other than that, decent stay. Would recommend.

I left my room, when I returned, my fire alarm was on in my room. The rep came to attempt to try to fix it by standing on the table I had plans eating on. It was on for about almost 10 minutes. He didn’t offer anything for the inconvenience. I’ve stayed at this hotel previously and this is the first this happened. I couldn’t sleep because it felt like I kept hearing from after hearing it for so long.

The room had a strange , musty smell. There was a lot of traffic noise in my room..(third floor street side). The sink had various hairs left in it. The shower was nice.. plenty of hot water. The bath towels were thin and almost non absorbnet. The staff were very frendly and accommodating. There were no dining facilitates in the area. The staff was the best attribute of this hotel.

Not a lot of parking space so people park along the bldg and tend to block people parked in the parking spaces making it difficult to get out. Carpets need to be cleaned but rooms are nice compared to the exterior.

I was able to book for this hotel a month in advance for a trip I was planning. I called the day of to see if we could check in a little early and we were informed the hotel has been closed for renovations for the past year and promised that our reservation has been canceled and my card would not be charged for the stay. Around 1am I get a charge to my card from the hotel. I was forced to get another hotel and how I have two charges on my card for the hotel that I’m currently in and the hotel that “promised” my reservation was canceled.

The “Please Do Not Disturb” sign was ignored and cleaning service came into our room. The shower door didn’t close all the way so we needed to put a towel down to soak up the water that spilled onto the floor. No shower floor towel was included on the 2nd day. No one at the desk the morning of checkout. No yogurt available on the 2nd morning.

This place was on the cheaper end of options for hotels in the area, however I was greatly misled by the 7.4/10 overall rating. The room we stayed in had a rancid smell to it that never went away, the shower curtain had mold growing on it, no exhaust fan, and overall unappealing bathtub that needs updating/replacement. The greatest disappointment was finding out that there wasn’t a free shuttle service provided with the hotel, and that they weren’t running one at all but instead sent out a lyft driver to pick you up. Overall I’d give it a 4/10 since it could be worse, but there’s a lot that could be better.

Not bad for an overnight, hotel is a little worn but breakfast was good, room & shower were clean and spacious. Area is not bad just a little old and worn. Close to airport and about 5 to 10 minute drive to catch subway to Chicago.

This is an older hotel in need of modernization. That said I felt safe, staff was friendly, and hallways were quiet at night alrhough I could hear some road vehicle noise outside which I am actually used to as I live in an urban area. Lots of food options within walking distance. The free breakfast was the standard Best Western set up of eggs, protein, potatoes, cereal, and waffles. Overall it met my needs.

when we first checked into our room it was dirty with all kinds of stains and took them a whole day to clean it not to mention the person at the front desk eric was very rude and made me bargain with him in order to not pay the $40 early check in fee when he told us it was initally $20.

After reading some of the reviews online I wondered if I had made the right decision by booking the hotel. But thank God my stay was nothing like that. It was a good stay overall and was a great location for my family.

Upon arrival at the hotel, the girls went up to their room. They saw hair in the bed and pubic hair in the bathroom. They went back downstairs and told Ishmael this. He took no responsibility, said the hotel was fully said the room was not dirty, but that the housekeepers hadn’t cleaned it properly. He offered a refund for the room, however it was 2:30AM, and the girls didn’t feel comfortable going out to look for another hotel. The girls were given two sheets to put on the bed. We tried for several days to contact the manager Raj. He avoided all calls and was conveniently out or in meetings. A front desk employee told us that Raj had refused us any kind of refund. For your own sanity, do not stay here! We have no idea how this hotel is a Best Western Plus. Dirty room and some of the worst customer service we have experienced to date. Choose another nearby hotel that actually provides a 24 hour shuttle and has employees that show kindness and empathy towards their guests. READ THE REVIEW PLEASE. Best Western needs to intervene and get workers that care and are good brand ambassadors

The room had a strong, unpleasant odor due to a damp carpet near the AC unit, which made the stay uncomfortable. I chose this hotel mainly for the convenience of the shuttle service. Despite requesting the shuttle in advance and arriving 20 minutes early, it was abruptly canceled at the last minute, forcing me to book an Uber unexpectedly. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience.

They lack workers. The worker from the reception also serves breakfast. At 7:30 there was a lack of food and coffee. We waited 20 minutes for the buffet to finish. And he never stopped talking on the phone. Another one of those properties where the most important thing is that they take your money and then nothing else matters.

We booked this hotel because of the advertised free 24 hours airport shuttle, and even though that was false advertisement, the hotel wouldn't allow us to cancel the reservation and refund our money. Other than that, it's alright for a night stay, we got 2 adjoining clean rooms.

Room keys had to be set twice before they worked, room phone didn't work, breakfast not ready at 6am. Was instructed to meet at 625 for the shuttle we signed up for to airport. Was siren there at 620 and they left without us. Front seat told us to "wait until 640 or call a taxi on your own" Very poor experience.

The room was spacious and clean. made use of the refrigerator and the micro. The bath room was very clean. Towels a bit dingy but useable. My stay was very good. When I come back to Chicago, I will return to this location.

There were hair on the pillow from previous guests and stains on sheets.Asked to change to a different room. The second room was okay. Spacious room but old furniture. The bathroom was renovated, water pressure was okay in the shower however the ceiling had stains. Only 2 towels were left for 4 people. Poor breakfast options.I wouldn’t go back.

booked room for 4 adults, was given towels for 2. could only get one more from the desk. towels are like sandpaper, tp is the thinnest possible. treated very rudely at breakfast by staff. was promised a 2 pm checkout but was harassed and threatened over dispute that we never were promised that. turns out heavy possible accent was the culprit: "TWO lve" instead of "twelve" pool non accessible. rooms facing the street must be very loud. luckily we were in even rooms not facing the street.

The desk chair in my room could not be raised and the person on duty claimed no replacement was available. As a result, it was difficult to use my computer. The pillows were very big and firm. I had to use towels in place of pillows in order to sleep.

The hotel is a bit tired looking and our reception was perfunctory at best (though it was admittedly very late). The bed was saggy on one side. The breakfast eggs and potatoes were a bit cold and dried out. We also had to pay $30 for a taxi to get there because shuttle service ended before we got there. But it did the job for one night which is enough.

There is a shuttle to the metro station that costs $20. There is a metro station Rosemont which is right next to the airport but they dont take you there, they take to you the Forest Park station that is much farther away and charge you. Many transport rigs go through that street so if you get a street side room, be ready to hear it. The room was clean with limited amenities. Good wifi and cable TV.

It was relatively inexpensive for a last-minute booking. Everything seemed very "dated"; either that or it just seemed like it was because everything seemed worn and "dingy". It was very loud in the room. We were on the "backside" away from the main road but we could still hear cars all night. Our room was unfortunately located across from the stairwell access and that door was slamming open and closed seemingly nonstop. Anyone's tv that was on within three or four rooms from ours was within hearing distance. It was headache-inducing listening to that many different programs at once! We had to call down (room phone didn’t work, so had to use personal phone to call the hotel number) because at least one room on our floor was smoking and it was permeating through everywhere. The person we talked to said they would look into it, but nothing changed. Luckily we were exhausted after a long week spent in the area and we fell asleep rather quickly. The next morning was a short ride to the airport. The shuttle got us there without issue. We were told we needed to be in the lobby 5 minutes before our scheduled shuttle departure. We were, but then sat there for an additional 15 minutes before the driver showed up. If I could do it again, I would spend my money on a different hotel; it was not worth saving a few bucks.

The motel apparently is along a busy truck route and my room faced the road. It was very noisy all night long. The phone and outlets in my room did not work.

Got in at 11pm so I was too tired to deal with it but one of the beds had hair and a couple stains on the sheets and pillows, so I slept on the other one that also had a stain but thankfully no hairs

The remote to the tv was broken only worked 50%. Breakfast was supposed to start at 6:00am was closer to 6:15 when they fully opened.

The only good thing about this experience was the only helpful employee Art. He was so helpful and friendly and always seemed to be busy minding breakfast or cleaning. All the other staff were rude and lazy. They spent the time on their phones and seemed really inconvenienced when they had to attend to patrons. All night long i heard doors slamming and could not get a decent sleep. There were not enough towels in our room and only one roll of toilet paper so we had to ask for more. Our bathroom was so dark. The light in the shower was not working. The hotel is really run down and does not leave a good first impression. If all the other nearby hotels werent sold out because of a concert, i would have left and stayed elsewhere. We were also disappointed with the breakfast. We arrived right at 6 two days in a row and were told by the 'lazy staff' that they had just run out of sausages that morning. Interesting since we were the first ones there both days, and we saw them run out the previous day mid service. It is on an extremely busy road and hard to get out of the parking lot at all, let alone turn left. Save your money and pick a different hotel where there are decent staff and you will get a good sleep.

Room was clean. Bathroom and shower were both clean. Not much water coming off the sink. Furniture looked a little bit old and scratched. Carpets had dirty spots and looked old. I had stayed in very great looking Best Western hotels. This one was not, but it was ok for a quick nap. It was also cheaper than other hotels nearby.
