I liked how friendly and nice the staff was. I didn’t like that one of the eyes on my stove in the kitchen area wasn’t working. I didn’t like that the tub was dirty I had to re clean it I didn’t like that it wasn’t as peaceful or quiet as I’d liked it to be

Ali was terrific, gave us great recommendations on places to eat and recreation. That is was located in front of the dump. An outdoors clean up crew is needed around the bbq area regularly.

Location was easy to get to and only a 10 minute drive to the cruise ship terminal. Staff was very accommodating.
- 2/5
Outdated rooms and hotel. Surrounding area was not clean and lots of debris around the exterior
- 3/5
It was good, we had to have forks brought up. No glasses to drink out of, we called for 2 glasses( No glasses) so we drunk out the paper cups they had
- 3/5
It’s old. And there’s a smell, maybe they need to deep clean the carpets
- 5/5
Pretty nice place to stay to get on a cruise the next day
- 4/5
First room was not so great thought it had a wired smell.asked a different room was given 3 to choose from I think that was great.
- 2/5
Very misleading was told I was going to have a studio with living area and double bed when I came to the property they said they only had single beds with the living area that when I booked a studio that meant just a kitchenette, hot tub did not work. Along with the car key every time we left I had to reprogram it. There were water, stains or mold on the ceiling and curtains
- 4/5
Could’ve done better cleaning for sure but overall for the price I’d probably stay there again!
- 4/5

The manager was great.

We checked in after a fishing trip and of course we’re dirty and tired. We use our towels to take a shower so my husband went and asked for more because we also went to the pool and took more showers. The lady was rude bothered We were even asking for towels because she was on her phone and Hinted at the fact of us wanting to steal towels because we were asking for more. So I rated one star for the fact that we only requested one thing our stay which was the towels and it was a problem.
- 3/5
Guy at desk. Very nice. Rooms are usually better maintained but for a 1 night stay, could have been cheaper.
- 5/5
Clean amd front desk was very nice.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable, and quiet! Staff was helpful and friendly. Room had a regular refrigerator, two burner cooktop stove, comfortable bed, recliner, dishwasher, and utensils ( pots, pans, etc.)

- 3/5
Hair all over the bathroom and smelled musty
- 3/5
Check in was smooth and were greeted with a smile whole second floor smells like 2 cycle engine oil and our room door did not latch tightly to the door frame and the beds are advertised as queen beds more like twin xl’s. Check out was a breeze also

Picture of pool dod not match facilities

Manager was excellent with food suggestions and things to do around the area, prior to our cruise. Very nice room.
- 5/5
I loved the location within minutes from food and shopping stores.
- 5/5
Loved staying here it was nice and quiet and the room was nice
- 5/5
Great bed, good tv, very good AC.
- 1/5
The icemaker in the refrigerator did not work, and the phone in the room did not even have a plug, so it was useless and made me feel unsafe. I believe I should get some type of refund. The room was way over priced.
- 2/5
The only thing I can say we liked about this property was the comfy beds, other than that this hotel sucked. To start they had some new guy working the front who didn't know what the heck he was doing. We prepaid for our room, and he kept telling my husband that he needed to pay. After about 30 minutes I am assuming it was his manager yelling at him over the phone that she had already had the keys ready for the guest who had already prepaid. Later in the evening my husband and I decided to take our daughter to the pool and an employee was literally outside in the front of the hotel smoking weed with some guy. This should've been our que to leave but we stayed. Now its bedtime and we are all sleeping until we were woken up at 4 am to people running up and down the hall laughing so loud. This went on for about 2 hours no lie. Finally, we fell back asleep to be woken up AGAIN by someone playing loud music. This really set my husband off and he went downstairs to complain but of course no one was in sight. Then he saw who it was playing the loud music and believe it or not it was a worker cleaning. My husband came back to room and said LET'S GO! I am honestly disappointed because the hotel was very clean, and the beds were some of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. But we will NOT be back especially for the price we paid to endure all that we did for one night.
- 1/5
The hotel was close to where we needed to be for the next day
- 5/5
The hotel staff was very friendly. We had the one room suite and it was very comfortable and roomy. The pool and hot tub were very clean. The hotel was slightly dated but we would definitely stay again. Walls were thick so you didn’t hear all your neighbors and we slept amazing. Overall I enjoyed our stay there
- 3/5
Good location.
- 2/5
One desk clerk was very kind and friendly. Another, possibly middle eastern, could not speak English. Many of the doors do not close properly and the strike plates in the door jambs were missing. The floor in the stairwell in the end of the building was noticeably tilted; I suspect there is a foundation issue and some settling and cracking. This might contribute to the doors not closing properly. The bathroom light fixture in our room was about to fall apart; I did a little adjustment to make sure the glass wouldn't fall down. Also when opened the bathroom door collided with the countertop, as if the door was too big for the room. Several plumbing fixtures were connected backwards (cold water on left, hot on right). Also plumbing fixtures were loose, evident that a genuine plumber was not employed to do the work.
- 4/5
Came down for Business and stayed an extra night. Very comfortable rm… very spacious would of been better with a King bed.. but nice
- 5/5
Quite a Site trash and old tires.
- 4/5
Great service and the staff was fabulous! Little hiccup with our toilet but they took care of it immediately. Price was reasonable especially with our stay being durning peak season.
- 3/5
The property itself was average however it was difficult to sleep due to the noisy refrigerator (rattling and buzzing noise) in the room. It was so loud. I reported it to the front desk the following morning at checkout.
- 5/5
The room was clean and smelled good. In room fridge is huge with ice maker. Nice to be able to cook food in your room instead of spending money to eat out all the time. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location, easy to drive straight down 61st street to the beach, and shopping or downtown to Strand. Only downfalls shower curtan is not waterproof and allowed water to go EVERYWHERE lol. The other downfall was that bed was no where near a queen size, but a full size mattress (I have a queen at home). But overall I would definitely stay here again!
- 1/5
when we were evaluating the reviews for the hotel it appears they were not true. I am getting feedback from the guys it was horrible they only sleep there for a few hours. Very dirty and team didn’t even want to take showers. They arrived at 5:00 a.m. and most guys have already left the hotel
- 5/5
Clean, quiet
- 1/5
The hotel was way over priced, the hotel smelled like mold and mildew, the door was loose, the amenities in the room were old and outdated. The front desk clerk that was checking guests in had a poor attitude.
- 5/5
The view of the pool and location of hotel was very convenient.
- 2/5
Room was ok. Bed was too small not queen as advertised. Property was not kept up with. Will only go back as last option.
- 4/5
Good place to stay😘

I
- 2/5
Loud noise through the wall below my room made it difficult to sleep. No housekeeping service unless you stay 10 days or more leaving you to go to the front desk and ask for sheets, towels and all else.
- 3/5
During our entire week long stay, I requested housekeeping a few times and nothing was done. I had to go get new towels from the front desk mid week.
- 5/5
The Candlewood Suites is a nice hotel with all the comforts of home. The added perk of having a refrigerator and microwave in the room, along with a fitness center and convenience store on property was definitely appreciated. The staff was customer-driven from start to finish—thank you for a nice stay!
- 5/5
The room was quiet, clean, and spacious! The staff were very quick to check us in. Will definitely come back!
- 1/5
They have mold in a lot of there rooms. We got extremely sick because of it. Staff told us “not their problem”
- 3/5
Don’t fall for the super edited pictures! In all fairness, the hotel isn’t bad. It’s just that the pictures make it out to be waaay nicer, than it actually is. The rooms were fairly clean, but the bathroom, was not thoroughly cleaned. There was pubic hair, on the wall and ceiling. The beds were pretty comfortable, but smaller than average. It’s a average hotel, that wasn’t worth the price we paid for a holiday up charge.
- 2/5
The hotel room smells so badly of cat urine. I literally had to sleep with mask on. The person in the front desk was amazing on a side note.
- 2/5
Extremely disappointing. For the price and online pictures, I sure did expect a lot more cleanliness.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay, and we had a small dog with us. We were impressed with the pet friendly amenities. The Front desk personnel were friendly and assisted us with the TV's that had been left from the last guest with cords in the wrong place. He had us up and running in no time. we booked 3 rooms, and all very clean and well appointed. Great location, easy to find.
- 4/5
Friendly staff!!
- 5/5
Right next to target, pet smart, dollar tree, as well as a few other businesses. Beach was about 10 min away.
- 4/5
Room was very spacious, comfortable beds and amazing kitchenette!
- 3/5
it was a single night, the hotel needed work, I'd say it was good only for a quick and cheap stay
- 4/5
Fridge and hot plate burner was nice.
- 1/5
hotel.com said it going to be $119 a night and the total after-tax 288. when I check in it was $169 a night. the clerk said it was going to be a $75 pet deposit. When I check out, I was then told it was a pet fee. my bill was $438. the place grass was knee-high. and the place had the smell. I could stay in a hotel much nicer and on the beach for this price.
- 1/5
Dirty place… Beware of the $75 charge for your pets. The front desk clerk would not allow me to stay and would not refund my money when I said I would make other arrangements for my pets.
- 3/5
The good part is that the staff is very kind and attentive. The hotel is not “bad” but it’s not good either. I wouldn’t book here again.
- 1/5
First of all I cancelled this reservation online a week prior to my stay. I got billed anyway. So we decided to go stay here instead of imposing on friends. This place is a dump. Especially for the price/ SO OVERPRICED. I paid 263 to stay here for one night. The door was broken, the a/c in the bedroom wouldn’t turn on, the phone didn’t work so I couldn’t call the front desk to have them fix it and it smelled like smoke or chemicals. We didn’t end up sleeping there it was so bad. Also behind the building is a junk yard or something similar. We ended up imposing on our friends because we just couldn’t sleep here. I honestly feel I should get a refund since we didn’t even stay.
- 5/5
Nice room size and came with kitchen
- 5/5
Clean rooms and manager was courteous. Will definitely stay here again. Target, Home Depot and many stores in walking distance.
- 3/5
The hotel is fine but the area isn’t great. My view consisted of a junk/recycling yard.
- 5/5
I was very relaxed. Very clean. We had everything we needed.
- 2/5
We liked that they accommodated pets. However, the first room smelled like vomit and dog feces. The second room had black mold on the bathroom floorboards and bathroom ceiling. They did not coffee , breakfast, or complimentary water.
- 5/5
It was nice, quite and relaxing
- 5/5
I definitely recommend this hotel
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly room was clean .Me and my family really enjoyed our stay
- 5/5
This is a full functional studio style efficiency, full size refrigerator with ice maker, stove top, small coffee maker, dishes, silverware, etc. GREAT shower and very comfortable bed. Will be staying there again!
- 5/5
The cashier was super nice. Made us feel comfortable. There wasn’t a lot of parking but it wasn’t bad. The staff was awesome. We stayed here for a night away. Went to get in tub to just relax and the sides of the tub was dirty. I put a bath bomb in and the water line in the front was horrible. All the pink bath bomb stuck to it Bc it wasnt clean. But other then that awesome
- 1/5
Do NOT waste your time or money. The rooms are overpriced and the staff is rude. The room was filthy when we arrived and I was told by front desk that she was front desk not housekeeping so she could bring me some clean linens and cleaning supplies to do it myself, but she doesn't clean. When I reported the issues to the general manager he was rude and condescending. He wasn't even concerned w8th making things right. Save money ans stay closer to the beach.
- 3/5
My reason for my rating was a pet issue. I was charged for my small pet for one night. He called it a nonrefundable deposit. If it is nonrefundable, it is not a deposit. It is a fee. It is not on the expedia website. All it says are pets welcome. It is on the home website of the chain, but who looks at that if you book from expedia, etc.
- 5/5
We loved our stay.. the bedroom suites were awesome.. The kitchen had everything we needed. It had free washers and dryers... clean too. We had a great Christmas thank you Candlewood
- 4/5
There's really not much to say. The property is clean, but nothing special. The room has a kitchen, but the room is pretty small and the TV is tiny. The hotel is located very near the sea wall, but even on the top floor my view was the construction next door. It was a nice hotel for the price.
- 1/5
I didn’t like Expedia’s way of blaming the property and causing them to look bad regarding a pet deposit. Expedia should make pet deposits LARGE before people decide to book.
- 5/5
My stay was wonderful! The room was clean , Negative foot traffic on premises and the young lady at the front desk was informative and friendly .... service he location was perfect ... stores and markets close by and further up before entering the beach were great fishing spots
- 4/5
nice hotel close to the beach near Pleasure Point Pier
- 5/5
Absolutely fabulous place to stay easy access off the highway. Manager Ali was absolutely fabulous personable.
- 3/5
We had a leak in the kitchen sink, the dishwasher didn't work, the wash rags were filthy and there were ants in our room. Other than that, the bed was very comfy, but that doesn't make up for the money we spent on this room. Could have definitely put our money to better use.
- 3/5
Service, clea
- 1/5
The picture were very different on the website from what I walked into.
- 4/5
The outside needs to be cleaned up. Weeds growing uo against the building, construction material left all over different places in parking lot. Home Depot lumber trollies in parking lot. Inside was well kept. Staff was friendly.
- 3/5
My stayed in the hotel was good the only issue with them is that my little girl had an accident in the elevator (she peed) and the manager was really quick at cleaning it, I think that was good but when we are ready to check out he told us that we been charged $250 for cleaning the elevator... That's one thing that pissed me off because she is still young and accidents happen and it's ok if they charge for cleaning but I'm not ok with the amount they charge
- 5/5
The stay was relaxing. The room was clean, the a/c was really cold, the water pressure in the shower was amazing and the pool was really nice.
- 5/5
Front desk great. Liked the room size and pool. Very helpful staff.
- 5/5
Rooms were big and a/c worked
- 4/5
The staff was pleasant. The pool was clean. The grounds were not well kept.
- 3/5
Basic hotel. No breakfast or food offered. A little overpriced for what you get. The rooms were standard, but pretty clean.
- 2/5
There were bugs in our suite. To get fresh towels, we had to turn in the dirty ones. The pet walking area has more weeds than grass.
