As for everything going on right now, it’s definitely not the Ritz, and if that’s what you’re expecting, this probably isn’t the place for you. They are currently going through renovations, so things are a little chaotic and you can tell they’re in the middle of improving the property. Because of that, some amenities aren’t available right now, like certain rooms not having TVs, but honestly that wasn’t a big deal for us. You’re at the beach, and most of us are walking around with mini computers in our pockets anyway. They also don’t have an ice machine on-site, but there’s one right next door for a cheap price, so it’s still convenient. Overall, it’s not perfect, but it’s comfortable, clean, and I’ve never had an issue with bugs, which is really what matters most to me when I’m just looking for a place to sleep Also everybody that I have met employee wise. They've been super sweet to me. Granted. The only ones that I do see is at night because I only check in at night after a long day at the beach. Okay, getting into the few things I didn’t love — it’s really not much at all. They do use the 2-in-1 shampoo, so when I forgot my own shampoo and conditioner one time, we were kind of stuck using that, and it’s not exactly the best for your hair. Also, there’s no coffee pot in the rooms, which is a little rough for me because I kind of have a thing for coffee in the morning. But honestly, neither of those were deal-breakers for me at all — just small things I noticed while staying there

We arrived at the location and the guy in the front said the system what down and it wouldn’t be up for hours or until 7am. we couldn’t get a refund because no one responded to our message we sent. I had to spend more money for a different hotel.

Being close to the seawall Roaches, construction on the hotel with limited parking and trash cans everywhere, no TV/Cable, AC unit was hanging off the wall…this place was horrible!

Did not end up staying after I walked in to bugs on the bed. Bed bugs and roaches
- 1/5
Staff was friendly and super helpful. Our room smelled horrible , like mold. there was no tv, or fridge as pictured in photos. Beds were super hard. Water pressure was super low. I personally wouldn’t stay here again.
- 5/5
Very clean property, staff is always helpful, beds are soft and clean
- 2/5
It took 4 rooms before I would agree to sleep in it because the roaches were so so bad. The desk clerk was understanding and helped me find a clean room.
- 0.5/5
It was a pretty room It had no tv, no refrigerator, no ice, no iron or ironing board. No closet.

First time here, miss Curtis was very helpful, they had a little remodeling going on in the parking lot but was no issue, the room was so clean and nice, air could have blown colder but was cold enough, we will definitely be back!!!!

They were still under construction so they had no cable or tv… but we weren’t in the room all weekend so that was ok

I requested a king size bed they gave us 2 full size mattress
- 1/5
This was one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed in with filthy sheets and a roach crawled over my daughter’s leg while laying down. The comforter was from the 80’s style and had tears from it being so old. Looked nuthin like the picture. Let’s just say we didn’t stay. Very bad experience. Close it down.
- 1/5
Worst experience i have ever had in this hotel
- 2/5
Paid full price. There was no tv and no lights except the bathroom and over sink. The room was clean.
- 4/5
The staff were professional and friendly. The interior and exterior walls were freshly painted and all was clean. We were advised prior to check in that the cable service was temporarily out due to renovation, but the internet was working, and I was able to stream seamlessly on my devices. I would stay there again if I was in the area.
- 5/5
The room was great! Staff was amazing!
- 4/5
Nice, decent basic room. The only setback is that it has no elevator. The people at the front desk are very kind. The room was clean.
- 3/5
The staff was very good. The room was clean and comfortable. Building is old and doors don't fit right but room looks like it was redone recently. I did not have much luck with the TV remote but I was tired and got a good night's sleep.
- 5/5
The hotel is under renovations but we still had a great stay before our cruise. Staff was friendly, and it's walkable to the seawall.
- 5/5
Good staf
- 3/5
I found out when I arrived that they were undergoing renovations and only 30 of 96 rooms were able to house guests. Also, due to the renovation, they didn't have cable...so no television. I had to drive down to McDonald's in the morning for coffee. I wish I had spent more money and stayed somewhere else. I still believe I overpaid for the room.
- 2/5
The room was remodeled recently, but our non-smoking room smelled of cigarettes so bad we had spray Lysol every hour. Should have just taken our losses and went somewhere else. Also, there was supposed to be a coffee maker and a safe. Nope!
- 3/5
Front desk was great. Rooms had no batteries in the tv remote & the overhead lights did not work.fir the price it was a place to sleep.
- 4/5
Staff was great at checkin. Room was clean
- 4/5
Under construction
- 3/5
For the price, this was fine. Room was clean. Heat worked. TV out of order. Staff was fine. Convenient location by restaurants and beach. We chose this for the free cruise parking, which worked out great.
- 1/5
We always stayed when it was the beachcomber. Was told they no longer give complimentary parking for cruisers. Nasty!! People hanging outside! Felt very unsafe.
- 4/5
Parking was good and the heater made loud noises (53 degrees)
- 5/5
We got to park in front of our room and the grounds were will lit. Our room was nice and clean and cool. Slept very well.
- 1/5
They have no tv no internet please do not go there worst experience of my life
- 4/5
Good stay
- 4/5
I don't like that one clerk had to go away from the window to set up the room keys and took my credit card with her. She could have written all of my information down for a illegal use later.
- 1/5
It smelled like mold was we walked in.
- 4/5
Room was clean and comfortable
- 5/5
Remodeled room was way above expectations!
- 3/5
Was not told about tvs being unavailable. Light bulbs missing from lamps. Outlets didn’t work on side of the bed
- 1/5
Rooms were dirty, holes in the wall, exposed electrical outlets, mold, every bit of 50-80 flies in the room hair from previous stays all in the corners from not being cleaned this was also their “newly remodeled room”
- 5/5
Overall it’s a great place to stay!! The construction sucked!
- 4/5
We had room 112 which had the new updated bathrooms and vanity area. Tv worked great and beds were comfortable. Mrs. Curtis was very personable and professional. It is a no frill hotel, but priced very well for what you get, and they offer free cruise parking! I would recommend to cruise passengers.
- 4/5
Yes
- 2/5
Office staff was great and friendly. The room was not complete with the remodel. Light sockets missing which ment not all lights work. No remote for TV. Glad i did. It have small children since there was not light socket covers. No blow dryer either.
- 2/5
Hotel was under construction. It was noisy and tile boxes every where.
- 3/5
Under renovation some of the electrical did not work. The TV was out also. The staff was wonderful, they made a big difference in making out stay bearable. We will go back once the renovations are complete.
- 4/5
We like the location and price point of the rooms so we will likely stay again, but hopefully the remodel will be complete& the small issues resolved!
- 2/5
Property was under renovation, construction debris in parking lot, pool was unusable due to dirty water, tv’s in rooms did not work. Overall feeling was like being in a room that had not been updated in 30 years. Housekeeping did not touch room during our stay. Upside is that staff were friendly but issues we faced were beyond their control. A/C worked well and room was quiet.
- 2/5
The motel needs serious remodeling. General manager and maintenance needs to and MUST be present at all times at property.
- 2/5
Did not expect to be under renovation. No downstairs rooms. Missing light bulbs in room. TV does not work. Will not stay here again!!
- 2/5
the room smelled, no light bulbs in lamps, had to have door keycard reset evertime we used it,clean but still smelled badly
- 1/5
Constantly loud people outside my door People sitting on the hood of my car Power outages Wifi was up and down by the minute and useless When wifi did work, speed was super slow No pressure in shower Never came to make bed Used same towels for a week even after requesting clean towels Never cleaned room and got trash, so it built up in room Room didn't stay cool because you can see gaps all around the door so cool air escaped Drunk people knocking on door at all hours Parking lot littered with construction material and unsafe and beer cans No apps configured on tv so couldn't watch mutch Fridge wouldn't get cold Where was security? never saw any Toilet would run 24 hrs a day and never stopped, which made it hard to sleep Couldnt' get anyone to come repair Construction crews started some mornings at 630am
- 1/5
The room smelled like mold the walls and tv where wet i booked a accessible room and we did not receive that. We ended up staying somewhere else and want a refund
- 5/5
This was our 4th stop on a couples getaway and have had horrible hotels before this one. This one was a fresh of breath-air. They are doing alot of renovations, but that didn't bother us we were up early. The staff were all super friendly and the updates are very nice. The only downfall was that they did not have cable, and we couldn't get the tv to hook up to our phones to stream from it. We would definitely go back.
- 5/5
Place is clean the lady who checked us in was awesome very helpful and friendly was still under reconstruction not a lot of amenities but a nice place
- 4/5
Cheap and clean stay for Memorial Day weekend
- 1/5
I didn't stay here because the rooms did not even have a tv. They were not able to comp the room for that so she refunded my stay. I still have not rcvd my refund!!!
- 5/5
The room was nice. Wish they had breakfast or had a coffee maker in the room. Did not know how to work tv. Since the hotel is under renovations, I didn’t give better review
- 5/5

Very accessible. However under construction, no tv, toilet continuously ran.

People
- 1/5
They ran out of soap and toiletries had to go back the next day I was there from Tuesday to Friday. We were the only people there on the side de with construction woke us up daily and stayed til 11p some nights keeping us up. Manager wasn't on property to give discount or refund and have the audacity to hold $50 deposit should be charging $25 daily..
- 3/5
Room was ok but there was no TV
- 1/5
This property canceled my reservation and had to fight for refund — thank you Expidia
- 1/5
This property was under construction and it didn't have no working TVs. The construction people were loud so, I didn't get to rest past 7:00 am.
- 1/5
This property needs to be condemned. The floors are unstable, trash everywhere due to "renovations". One of the supports to the building looks like it's going to fall. The hotels power was cut by the city due to the breaker box being a hazzard. There was no TV connected. This property needs to not rent another room until it's construction is finished and the building up to code. We had to leave and find another hotel and Motel 6 has not yet given us the refund they promised. The pictures posted on their site are a lie. Do not stay here.
- 1/5
Rented room and got to hotel after hours but they weren’t even open or on property to help us. It was in renovation mode and no lights on or a sign to even indicate MOTEL 6 other than a banner which you can’t see in the dark.
- 3/5
The walls where dirty and the smoke detector was missing.
- 3/5
It was a good stay other than when the power went out. The door to the bathroom also wouldn’t shut. Finally, the sink worked but the spout spray was odd.
- 1/5
Rooms smell horrible couldn’t sleep with smell like mold.
- 3/5
Dirty ,had roaches
- 4/5
Not a bad place for the price.
- 1/5
I was not aware that they are currently under construction. It looked empty Debris all over the place. Old and outdated rooms. Only go here if your limited on funds.
- 5/5
Parking was great to have viewable access of my vehicle & great staff / cleaning crew
- 4/5
Remolding the property, which we're excited about. Only negative, was no TV on last 2 stays and wasn't notified before arrival. We will be back again.
- 3/5
Front Desk person was awesome. The hotel being under renovation that was not disclosed before making reservations was bad. NO working TVs in any room, mold between the microwave and fridge. Construction material along the side of the hotel, almost in front of the check in window. The hotel sign was not lit up, so it was hard to find at night.
- 4/5
It’s very unfair to rate this hotel right now. They are in the middle of a remodel and still renting rooms. I was able to check in at 2pm which was a plus. Lady at the counter was fantastic. Not many guests. Waffle House next door is a plus. Short walk to the beach. Needs more water pressure or a better shower head.
- 2/5
microwave and tv didn’t work
- 5/5
This hotel is under renovation. The outside area is a complete mess with construction items, cigarette butts trash and dead roaches. The room was dirty with badly stained carpet, fake nails on the floor, hair in the bathtub and dead roaches in the corners. The bathtub did not drain, the hot/cold knob was on backwards and there was black mold on the shower curtain. The TV also did not work. We had stayed here when it was Beachcombers and it was nowhere this bad. The ladies at the front deck were efficient and friendly and the location was good. Not sure if renovations have been completed and any of the rooms but I would certainly ask before considering a stay.
- 3/5
The lady that checked us in was very friendly. Ivthink her name was Miss Grace. She wasn't there when we arrived so we had to wait a bit for her. She waived our security deposit since we had to wait. She explained that the hotel received damage from Hurricane Daryl. Rooms were being remodeled & had no cable. This would have been good to know when booking or after booking. She offered a full refund & we could go elsewhere. It was already 8:00pm & we had been driving 9 hours. We just wanted to crash before our cruise. She let us into our room. That was helpful because outside lights weren't working in that section & we couldn't see the room numbers. Our room was mostly clean. There was some mold in the fridge & the carpets were sticky. The shower was good. Nice water pressure & hot water. It was within waking distance of the boardwalk. It was right next door to a Waffle House.
- 2/5
Very unclean and tv and phone didn't work. Doing construction on the whole property and we were not informed of that.A lot of trash and nails in parking areas Absolutely the worst experience ever at any motel.
- 2/5
Property under construction, wasn’t made aware prior. They had 2 rooms available and only one had a TV. The employee was very friendly and accommodating and cancelled the reservation for us.
- 4/5
Poor signage, difficult for uber drver to find. Renovations.
- 2/5
Lady at desk was very nice.
- 1/5
DON'T STAY HERE! This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Full of cockroaches, broken plumbing. Years of engrained filth. Broken furniture, absolutely disgusting. It has been like this for a long time. It is also a building site. IT SHOULD NOT BE ON EXPEDIA, take it off. What are you doing, I was totally conned by this site and hotel.
- 1/5
Dirty floor that turned the bottoms of our feet black.
- 2/5
The t.v in our room didn't work. Room was still dirty.
- 5/5
The property has made a lot of upgrades and it’s comfortable. Just needs to add more towels and better shampoos. Otherwise it has improved since I stayed there back in May.
- 1/5
Under construction, no TV’s in any rooms, front desk attendant is very rude and will try to scam you out of your refund if you want to cancel due to them not advertising the conditions the property is under. Would not recommend or go back.
- 1/5
2nd room - smelled like someone had just smoked in there. Lighter was going on the floor. Trash was on the floor. Bed looked like someone had slept on it. Left asking for refund.
- 1/5
The rooms where dirty, and we felt it was not safe to stay at this hotel. We had to book other accommodations.
- 1/5
Property is doing renovations and was not disclosed through this app. It is only posted on their direct web site. Currently they have no cable tv; room smells! Front desk wouldn’t answer any calls from myself or Expedia/Orbitz. No adjustment or refund. Disappointed and never again!!!
- 5/5
need shampoos
- 2/5
It took them 3 weeks to refund my $50 deposit. No one answers the phone or their email for that matter. I had to contact Motel 6 corporate to get in toucn with management. Room smelled.like mildew or mold, light in the bathroom had to be replaced when i got there and the remote foe the tv wasnt even the right remote. Hopefully after they remodel they will get there $hhh together. Would NOT stay again...
- 5/5
Clean
- 1/5
Stayed here because it was cheap. Cockroaches in the room, carpet was wet/sticky, neighboring business (Waffle house) had an employee looking through vehicle windows throughout the night. Work up at 2am to a woman screaming and running through the parking lot. Called several hotels in the area to just get a room from 2am to 7am for the rest of my stay but nobody had anything available. The staff person was very nice though. The rest of the place should be shut down.
- 4/5
Good
- 1/5
This property should be closed down until fully remodeled, limited rooms which are not cleaned or updated. My room 217 had roaches dead and alive, mold, and a cracked broken floor in the bathroom and old rusted out fridge. Motel 6 should be ashamed for buying this property.
- 1/5
there were roaches all over the place didn’t even end up staying there
- 1/5
Room smelled like mold, no television at all , some electrical outlets did not work , a room fire alarm tweeted all night , an electrical fault since last hurricane damage , told desk and they said just close the bathroom door. Rude night clerk.
- 1/5
When we checked-in the clerk was short and rude. When we got to one room it smelled so bad that we couldn't stay inside. The other room smelled bad as well. It had a constant beeping coming from the bathroom and the TV did not work. We went back to the clerk and she said the beeping and the TV would not be fixed for a few days and that she did not have any other rooms available. We booked two rooms at another hotel and checked out of this one. We are not that picky but there was no way that you could actually sleep at this hotel.
- 1/5
The place looks like it should be condemned. They took down their sign so we couldn’t even find the place to begin with, then we tried calling and calling because it looked like they were shut down/out of business but nobody answers the phone. Expedia tried calling them as well with no answer then ended up putting us in a much nicer hotel down the road. We would have been extremely uncomfortable staying here!!!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean rooms, easy parking, very affordable and so near the beach. I would book again next time I’m in Galveston. They are currently renovating so some amenities are not working like the tv. But who wants to stay indoors and watch tv when you can easily walk to the beach
- 1/5
The front desk staff was mildly friendly. The rooms were kind of gross. And there was lots of remodeling construction everywhere outside. Definitely not cozy.
- 3/5
Its been 7 business days and still have not received my $50 deposit. I cannot call because their phones are not working
- 1/5
First they couldn’t find our reservation, then the property was dirty and under construction. The whole motel looked old and did not look like the pictures. The room smelled and the carpet was moist. Definitely would not stay again
- 1/5
Let’s just leave it at that
- 1/5
By far the filthiest property I have ever stayed in my entire life! Room smelled of mold/mildew which isn't surprising considering there was a dampness in the air & the bedding. Had to put clothing over the pillow case just to feel able to lay my head down. We felt dirty just being in the room so we took a look at the bottoms of our feet & they were black! Absolutely no point in contacting the front desk, as I had tried for weeks prior to let them know we would be a late check in due to our flight time & never one time did anyone answer the phone on our numerous attempts. There was caution tape all around the building. Remodeling so they say but were they? I write this review to encourage you to sleep in your car before staying at this property, it's that bad!
- 2/5
Under construction, no first floor rooms, had to change rooms because the first room smelled like cat pee, TV didn’t work because there was no Roku remote, the front desk clerk didn’t register the new room under our name so someone tried to get in at 11:30 PM because the front desk gave them a key to our room. DO NOT BOOK THIS MOTEL!!!!!
- 1/5
Ended up not staying because after paid they told me no cable. On top of all that they are renovating so construction going on all over the building. We had this reaervation for several months. If they were gonna be doing renovations and not having cae they should have let ppl know before they arrived for check in.
- 3/5
All good
- 1/5
They are doing major construction. Parking lot full of equipment and holes. Carpet in the room coming up around edges, missing in pkaces. Toilet did not flush properly.
- 4/5
It was a decent place but they are going through renovations
- 1/5
We received a call the day before we were to arrive in Galveston stating that there was no hot water. After trying to secure another motel without success, we decided to make the best of it. As we drove looking for the motel we found there was no sign so we passed it many times. (Excuse was the hurricane. A temporary sign or banner could have hung.) The person at the desk was rude and condescending. She should be taught customer service. Our room was not as clean as it should have been, there were dead roaches in the bathroom, only one electrical outlet, and the tv did not work. After calling the desk many times without success, we found the phone phone system was not working either. Even though they are still doing repairs from the hurricane, customer service and making the facilities the best they could under the circumstances was not a priority. We will not stay at a Motel 6 again.
- 1/5
Terrible stay..first room the TV was broke ..second room air conditioner was leaking and floor was soaked and smelt like mold ..then after our stay we had to call corporate office to get our $100 deposit back because it was never returned on my card
- 2/5
The floor was dirty. There was a door that connected the room next door, normally i wouldnt caee, but the door jam was broken and the door did not lock. This would allow the person in the next room to be allowed in the room. Very sketchy.
- 1/5
The first room the key didnt work. The second room the tv needed maintenance to come and fix. The top sheet had a stain. The safe was filthy. I opened a cabinet and the door fell off. The property is billed as a beach property which it is not. I should have made a different choice. Feel I should get some sort of refund. Never will be back again.
- 1/5
This was the worst experience and dirty every thing was outdated and old and dirty
- 4/5
Staff were great. Clean comfortable room. Parking was an issue but understandable due to construction.
- 5/5
Unfortunately the motel was damaged from the hurricane. The main sign was off and had some electrical issues. There wasn’t any hot water. They were very nice to offer a full refund and we booked somewhere else. Hopefully they can get the motel fixed up again.
- 1/5
We came down for a quick weekend trip and decided to give this motel a shot since the price was right. The room was disgusting, smelled horrible, the bed was like a concrete slab and the water never got warm to even shower. We ended up leaving way early because we couldn’t take it anymore. I’m not sure why I expected anything better than what we got. It’s safe to say we won’t be back here.
- 2/5
Didn't like anything. No hot water, half of outlets didnt work, dirty carpet. Dont understand $50 security deposit. No breakfast, bad parking, dirty pool, should be removed until renovation is complete
- 5/5
Great place
- 1/5
There was no hot water. Rooms smelled worse than I have ever smelled. Staff was friendly dealing with all the complaints. Not worth $175 to lay my head.
- 3/5
The hotel was undergoing renovations. Our first room had a TV that wouldn't work. They gave us another room which had a TV that worked a little better. The coffee pot had no basket for the coffee to go into and there were no coffee supplies. We were given supplies but never got the basket so it was if no use. There wasn't even coffee at reception. In all the moving between rooms we somehow lost a pillow which we discovered when we got home. The phone number at the front desk only worked intermittently. When I finally reached the desk after calling for 1.5 days, the person answering said that yes, they had our pillow. Family members were still in the area and went to get it but no one, including the manager, could find it. I tried calling again for another day and never got through.
- 2/5
The check in staff was very friendly and the rooms are not bad, but unfortunately we woke up the next morning to a dead roach that had been in the sheets.
- 3/5
In their defense, they were still cleaning after hurricane Beryl. This place is still in terrible need of a face-lift thought.
- 1/5
Very unkempt and rooms smelled like mold

Although affected by Hurricane Beryl, the property is close to the beach and the pool was awesome! Staff super friendly and helpful!
- 3/5
Property is under renovations at time. Even though the room was clean and staff was great. It would have been great if expedia would have mentioned it before I made reservations.
- 5/5
it was very nice
- 5/5
It's was chiill
- 3/5
Not bad
- 1/5
I had a confirmation of my stay the cancelled it. They gave me till1 pm to call them back and confirmed my stay i was calling since 12:24 pm they never answered the just cancelled my stay and gave to some one else. Very unprofessional
- 4/5
Front desk staff was great. Sheets were clean, Rooms were decent

Staff were the best.
