The beds were comfortable. 1. The smell of the cleaning chemicals in the room was too strong. 2. The breakfast was very limited. 3. There is no parking space in the front and too narrow. 4. Entrance to the Hotel is thru a restaurant with a lot of traffic and difficult to get in and out.

It’s convenient and a great price. The beds are horribly uncomfortable and I think they need to let the bedding dry a bit longer , the last 2 visits, the bedding was a bit damp, when we turned back the beds.

Not bad, inexpensive & quiet we’d come back for sure.

Hotel staff called us about 6 times telling us there were complaints about people jumping in the room. It was only my husband and I, and he fell asleep as soon as we got there. The room next to us had several kids and you can hear them jump. I told staff that when they called; however they still kept calling us. Instead of them going to the room next door they harassed my husband and me.

Unfortunately, this Super 8 motel was totally different from the Super 8 motel on Northpark Drive in Kingwood, TX. The biggest difference is all the rooms at Super 8 in Galveston face the parking lot, not an interior hallway like in Kingwood. I was assigned room #101 in Galveston, which must be the only room with no peep hole. Fortunately, I had no security issues and housekeeping only knocked on my door once. I had an issue keeping the “do not disturb” sign on the outside of my door as the south wind kept blowing it off. I found it laying in the grass and used some clear Gorilla tape to keep it attached to the door handle. I noticed that Galveston was still an old city - not embracing new technology. I would have liked to do laundry but the motel only had one washer and one dryer and it was in a room separate from the lobby but was only open 7am-10pm. I was shocked how few laundromats Galveston had and none near the hotels on 61st Street. I do not plan on vacationing in Galveston again anytime soon. I do look forward to my next stay at Super 8 in Kingwood.

Good location near Seawall. Older property, walls are paper thin. There were people standing outside their doors smoking illegal w**d. Pool area very clean and nice. Standard free breakfast. Less than enthusiastic staff. Overpriced but for one night okay. We would not chose to stay there again.

This was a last-minute hotel stay because I had issues with another hotel in Galveston. The property was so quiet. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable, and it was in the perfect area for our competition that we were in town for.

Needs updating. Bed is hard. Pillows flat linens scratchy and roaches in the room. I think they have plumbing issues. But it was a one night stay before our cruise and it was cheap so there’s that.

The hot water on full blast was just barley above freezing I have taken "cold showers" that was warmer. TV would work about 20 minutes and then go off. The fridge didn't work. The bed was so hard uou could not rest well. The shower had long black hair in it when we checked in

There was zero hot water. None in the sink and definitely not in the shower. When we told the front desk we were told there was nothing she could do because the manager wasn’t there. 1000% will not stay again.

Charged twice for the room, so i will be waiting fays to have over $200 returned to my card. Only hotel that ive ever had do this. Wont be staying in this chain again. Now with the room their ok. Front desk was nice, but 1st room the fridge did not work and i was unable to get a room with a tub, but the second day we were moved to another room with tub and working fridge.

Paid for a king size room. Got a double not bad but not what I paid for. Shower was awful. No hot water and pressure was not good. Shower head was all scaled over with hard water

The room was fine and comfortable. I was disappointed in the "jacked up price" I had to pay to reserve what normally costs much less than $138 just because the weather was questionable for travel and we were scheduled to leave Galveston the next morning on a cruise.

The white older man serving the food was fantastic and very friendly.

I sent note via Expedia to say I didn’t need the reservation, in case someone else needed a room due to the storm, and they’ve been emailing me a bill almost every 30mins since while I was travelling and overnight. I had assumed the payment would have been processed through Expedia…. Quite aggressive

I reserved an accessible room. When I got to my room it was not. I called the front desk and was told that my room was being worked on. No problem. But would have been nice if they told me upfront and apologized instead of silence and a surprise. Room was clean and acceptable though.

The front desk was defiantly unhelpful and seem to take pleasure in screwing me out of some money. The absolute worst customer service imaginable. The room was barely adequate and the breakfast was terrible. Hard to see how they could have done worse. Stay away.

Great location the staff I met so far have been very polite I didn’t go to breakfast but I would say don’t expect a full course meal but the area was very clean i also suggest not getting the room right next to the office because you can hear the people who do get breakfast through the wall but the place is definitely a place i recommend staying if you on a budget or quick last minute getaway and the Waffle House is in walking distance same parking lot actually

staff was rude I was not told ahead of time a hold of the room rate was going to be taken then after I checked in they charged my card again and it took a week before hold was released back into my account when I talked to the staff she was rude and practically scolded me for trying to contact management for help with my issue....id rather pay a little more and stay in a friendly place with no holds placed on my accounts

There were small ants in the room. Specifically on the nightstand between the beds. Also, the only thing available for breakfast were some very small mini muffins. I would not stay there again.

The sheets on my bed was dirty. They have blessed things on them. That means the bed was not changed. I reported it to the front desk and they only gave me a $30 refund. Yes, did not receive where I stay at this property again maybe not.

The actual location was confusing for most Uber drivers but its literally behind The Waffle House. Overall, a location for us to lay our heads at night from an outrageous day of touring Galveston. A bit off the main area at the Seawall but not a bad area either 👍

Every thing was okay

Very nice stay for the price. People can be way too picky when they find one thing out of place! If you don't have a 5 star mentality, this one is nice, clean, and comfortable. Plus the waffle house and beach are both in walking distance which was great for my group.

Complained of noise people running around all night upstairs but was told next day that they checked and they found only people asleep. Really???? I was kept up past midnight and got very little sleep. They refused to give me a refund and offered only $20 for inconvenience. Good location near beach but deal with rudeness. I would not recommend staying here.

My room was not cleaned well. I found food items left behind. There was hair and dirt on shower walls had not been cleaned. The bed was very hard, and the sheets were stained and looked terrible.

Discussed with staff, then assistant manager, who had an attitude and said “so, did you end up in a room?” as if to suggest that the experience getting to a moldy room was a non-issue. Very argumentative, attempted to justify company/staff issues as if that was my concern. If this place tries to charge more than $79-100 for its 1.5star accommodations, you will be paying too much.

Location was convenient. Staff was friendly and helpful. Just basic hotel rooms. The pool was popular with many guests. Great for a one night stay. Short walk to the beach. Breakfast was chocolate chip muffins only. There is a Waffle House in front of the property and a McDonald’s a short walk towards the beach.

Clean rooms quite area the young lady at the desk was very pleasant to do business with she was really sweet and very informative.

Stayed here for one night while I waited to cruise the following day. I was very happy that there were many restaurants within walking distance because I didn’t have a car. I didn’t want to Uber or Door Dash food. Waffle House was just a few steps away!!

I had written off Super 8’s a few years ago after a horrible experience in Baton Rouge La. This property was so much better. The room was very clean and well maintained. If all Super 8’s were like this one they’d be at the top of my list for budget friendly hotels.

This hotel is a little outdated. The bed was not comfortable at all. I could feel the springs in my back, and I did inform the girl at the front desk however, she did not offer any type of compensation for it. She just asked what room I was in and shook her head.

Woke up ready for their breakfast to find mini muffins, juice and coffee. Nothing else at all!!! Had to walk to Waffle House and getting our grandson something to eat. Not expecting that at all. Returned and booked a Uber to get out of here for the day. Got back to still dirty room. Grabbed food from grocery store next door to warm in microwave. Which we had to clean noticing Rust throughout. Ugh! Thank gosh we get to leave soon. Definitely disappointing stay. Super comfy bed and clean room. Waffle House across the parking lot. 3 minute walk to the beach. 10 minute walk to Kroger, Walmart, or Randall’s. Great location.

It was nice. Everything was clean and it was so convenient downstairs.

Hotel was clean. But there were a few bugs running around. Bath tub was worn out. The finish was coming off and there was a large rusty hole in the side of it. Switched rooms halfway through stay and the second room was much better. Staff were very helpful and kind. Breakfast is orange juice and sad muffins, but it’s close to waffle house.

We were pleasantly surprised by how clean and nice this hotel was considering how inexpensive it was! We just stayed the night before our cruise left, but were able to walk to a nice dinner and enjoy our morning before heading to the port. And the staff was very fun and helpful. We will always stay here the night before our cruises.

little front room area with a couch and table the adjacent area had the bed, a dresser, TV, coffee maker, fridge and microwave. So everything you could need. THE ONLY BAD THING was as soon as you opened the door to the room that musky, moldy smell hit you straight in the face. IT WAS HORRIBLE. There is an absolute mold issue. Not sure it if is in the walls or in the A/C unit but the whole room stunk to include the bedding. My husband woke up with a total swollen face especially around the eyes we are guessing from an allergic reaction to the mold due to having to breathe through a C-Pap machine and it intensifying the stench. We can't complain about the cleanliness except the mold. The offered breakfast as it was called consisted of some mini muffins, coffee and juice. Which was not even worth the stepping into the lobby area. Might as well just stop serving period. We walked over to the WaffleHouse. which brings us to the very convenient area this hotel is located to stores, restaurants and even a Krogers as well as the convention center are in walking distance. I would stay there again IF the MOLD would not be an issue.

When I checked into the hotel, everything was nice but when I went to my room, there was the fire alarm beeping I told them and I waited till 5 o’clock for them to come fix it and reset it. He reset it and he said if that didn’t take care of, it would be internal that have to switch me rooms. It was fine until 2 o’clock in the morning and then it went off every 30 seconds All night long I went and told the front desk person and that she said there was nothing they could do. I didn’t sleep from 2 o’clock until I checked out this morning very disappointed that they wouldn’t compensate or take care of anything, especially since it was a problem from the very beginning
