Reviews
The Hotel Colorado is a historic hotel with a rich ambiance, offering a unique stay experience. Guests appreciate its proximity to downtown Glenwood Springs and the hot springs, as well as its friendly staff. However, some guests have issues with noise, cleanliness, and certain amenities.
- Historic charm and ambiance
- Close proximity to downtown and hot springs
- Noise issues (traffic, parties, radiators, etc.)
- Cleanliness and maintenance concerns
- 3/5
No refrigerator bathroom door was noisy and the $15 to park your car on the hotel. That’s not. That’s not a good idea. That’s a ridiculous thing. and they had to come to fix the TV.
- 4/5
Nice standard king room, in very nice condition, clean and well appointed. Old hotel upgraded for all required amenities, very enjoyable. Outdoor lunch and dinner dining during the summer, nice variety of medium to higher priced options, all our choices were well prepared and served. Recommend the locally sourced lamb chops and wild game sliders. Bar service was excellent. Breakfast available in the dining room, or simpler quick options in the coffee/gift shop. Full room service menu. We enjoyed the walking distance around the corner to the Hot Springs Pool and the nicely maintained hotel courtyard with comfortable outdoor seating options. Recommend you try this venerable old hotel.

Convenient location and comfortable bed!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and vey clean rooms. Bar was great and sitting on the lawn with a summer cocktail was a highlight!
- 4/5
The room was overall ok but not great. Room and especially the bathroom was outdated. Lack of adequate ac (cooking) for the room was hard. The window ac units helped some but room was still warmer than we would have preferred.
- 5/5
A beautiful historical property! Great location.
- 5/5
The food and lobby are excellent! This hotel is a great value. It is luxury without the luxury price tag.
- 5/5
so much to do and so close to airport
- 5/5
I love staying at Hotel Colorado. It’s unique history and design make for an interesting stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and I appreciated that my dog was welcome.
- 5/5
We loved our stay at the Hotel Colorado. It was so nice to sit outside with the gorgeous mountain views in front of such a beautiful historic hotel. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is very conveniently located and easy to walk to shopping and restaurants.

No mini fridge

Wonderful
- 5/5
I loved staying here. I was on a long road trip, and this hotel was an amazing reprieve. If I could have stayed longer, I would have. The room was as pictured, it was clean, and the view of the courtyard was great. Being able to quickly walk to shops, restaurants, and the hot springs was a huge bonus. Big points to for the history of this hotel. I hope to return one day!
- 5/5
Everything was perfect from arrival to checkout. The entire family enjoyed the uniqueness of the hotel, as well as learning of its history. Great location for the pools as well as shopping and dining.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel. Great vibe. Great patio. Great location by the hot springs and restaurants. Great family suite. We’ll be back.
- 5/5
The property was fantastic. We were all pleasantly surprised by the rooms and balconies. I had seen several mixed reviews before booking, but honestly we really enjoyed the spacious layout and overall atmosphere. The bathrooms are a little small, but the hotel more than makes up for it with its rich history, charm, and outstanding central location. The staff was so friendly. I would definitely recommend.
- 4/5
We ordered room service on one occasion and enjoyed every scrumptious bite. My husband had a breakfast burrito, and I had the Denver omelette! 10/10! The drinks at the bar in the courtyard were delightful, and the live music was a nice touch. All the bartenders were attentive, upbeat, and friendly. All around, this is a fantastic place
- 5/5
The hotel was so unique and everyone was so friendly. Really enjoyed the on-site restaurant and bar and the live music in the courtyard made our trip so enjoyable. I hope we can return someday.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and great to us the entire trip. Could not recommend the hotel more, will be staying there again next time we are in town
- 5/5
Great place to stay! Gorgeous staircase. Kind staff. Very welcoming. Has a resort feel with live music!
- 5/5
Amazing! Clean. Bed is comfy!
- 1/5
The hotel was overbooked. The manager said they would refund part of the room cost since I didn’t get the room I paid for and never did. There was a private event scheduled on Friday night that took over the entire lobby and courtyard with drunk people and my 17 year old and I were unable to enjoy the historic atmosphere. I tried speaking to the front desk the next morning and they had no interest in our poor visit. It’s was an incredibly expensive stay for little benefit other than sleeping.
- 5/5
Everything was very clean and well maintained. Food at the restaurant was delicious.
- 5/5
The hotel is beautiful with the antique furniture and the gardens. Close to downtown and all the amenities that offers.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for enjoying the hot springs.

- 5/5
Loved the old feel of this hotel!! Quiet, clean, historic! So close to everything glenwood springs has to offer. Pool across street is not included but is a must to go to. Plan on a full day of pool activities in each of the pools. Hot springs mineral waters with cold plunges. This hotel has a beautiful courtyard with seating, bar, fireplaces and intermittently has music performances. Wonderful place and beautiful town!
- 5/5
We have stayed here a few times over the years and always enjoyed it. Very convenient to the hot springs pool. We've always been here in the winter and this time it was summer. The grounds were very pretty. We also ate there for dinner and again for breakfast. Both meals were good. There have been nice upgrades to the rooms and it seems to be getting nicer each time we come.
- 5/5
This place is amazing! The history, the details in the rooms and the warm feeling is so inviting. We were lucky and able to get a balcony room, it was perfect! I would reccomend hotel Colorado to anyone coming through Glenwood springs' the beds are nice too! Which I feel like is so important.
- 5/5
Liked the historical and proximity to pools etc
- 4/5
I rwalize it is an old antiquated property but something needs to be done about upgrading the window air conditioning units.
- 5/5
Only downside was the announcements you could hear from the hot springs below my specific room.
- 5/5
We had a great time there!
- 5/5
Couple of quick complaints, first. Hotels should provide parking for the people staying there. Period. If you insist on charging, then be upfront about it and simply include it in the nightly rate. None of this, "Do you want to park in the hotel parking lots?" And then tell me how much more that will be. My snide answer is, "No... I only wish to sleep here. We'll park 5 miles down the road somewhere..." Please! Also, not a complaint, but just so people know, this hotel isn't not the easiest to navigate for people with mobility issues. Having gotten that out of the way, the hotel is beautiful, rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. It is rare that I consider the hotel I am staying at a destination in and of itself. First of all, the food here is spectacular. You taste every dollar you pay for the meal. There is indoor dining and outdoor dining in the courtyard, with plenty of shade and live music. The service was very friendly. The lobby is huge with very plush chairs and couches and tables. There is a fountain outside, it is pet friendly, and there are plenty of chairs with a nice view of the mountains.
- 3/5
The towel they provided is ripped. No microwave or fridge in the room.
- 5/5
Great outdoor space with an amazing bar and cocktails. Kipp made us some great drinks is for the Avs game. He is very attentive to his guests. Awesome courtyard🍷
- 5/5
First time staying. Beautiful old school hotel with lots of history. Only stayed one night but I'd stay there again.
- 4/5
Always a a good place to stay. Great historic property, good location and very nicely maintained hotel.
- 5/5
I am glad I chose this hotel because it was much quieter and away from the highway compared to most other options. Plus the historical feel and all the trees added to the ambiance. The staff were super helpful and accommodating by helping me print a resume and with check in. The room was very spacious and nicely decorated.
- 5/5
It was my birthday and not only gave me breakfast but a very nice room w/balcony. Location was awesome next to hot springs and the dining service was excellent night and morning highly recommend!
- 5/5
We loved our stay at Hotel Colorado, the rooms were clean and staff was friendly. The gardens our front are beautiful! Walking distance to most of our activities. Would stay again for sure!
- 5/5
This is a Grand Old Dame, and, as such, expect the quirks of a century plus old hotel. The location is fabulous and we walked to the main street where there are lots of dining options and where a person could dip in the hot springs. We ate at the hotel and dinner was nice, especially the scenery. The main courtyard was pleasant and service was great. Our only complaint was the window unit in our room, which loudly and constantly cycled on and off. We were expecting that kind of deal when we booked this lovely old hotel, so were not super disappointed. Overall a fun stay!
- 3/5
Room was so so. Every industrial feel. Guessing from hospital days. Just not what I expected from photos on website also had to pay to park.
- 5/5
Great experience
- 2/5
Hotel was not what it looked like on website. Rooms are tiny. You have to go to another building for breakfast which means walking across the parking lot Spider was crawling on door and a big beside door inside of room We left after 1 night stay.
- 4/5
The room was clean and the gardens are so beautiful the staff was very friendly
- 5/5
This historic hotel was such a treat to stay in for a week. Our room was beautiful, the lobby and courtyard were wonderful to hang out in, we had lots of great meals and the staff became friends. Looking forward to our next stay already!!
- 5/5
A beautiful property!
- 5/5
Great room, clean and neat. Comfortable bed. Great bar and coffee shop. Wonderful staff.
- 5/5
This is such a lovely historic hotel! Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable room and beds, and great food! Love how close it is to the hot springs!
- 5/5
Lovely old hotel, clean and spacious
- 5/5
Everybody working at the hotel was very friendly, very willing to help or answer questions and extremely dog friendly!
- 4/5
This was our second time there and there has been work done on the rooms, all considered it was nice to be back.
- 5/5
Within walking distance to hot springs and restaurants!
- 4/5
When we travel we always look for the old hotels of the past, the Hotel Colorado met our expectation and matched other old venues like the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island, Michigan. I have 2 complaints and to some they may not mean a thing. First the indoor dinning area was closed for the evening and dinner was served outside, It was very chilly that evening and there was no other choice other than leave the property and have dinner in town. Secondly we had to pay to park on the Hotels Property. We found this at all the other hotels we stayed at in both Colorado and Utah during our trip. I felt like i was being ripped off having to pay to park when I was already paying to stay.
- 5/5
First of all, our room was not ready and the Amy gave us an upgrade. Which was the best thing in my life, and my husband. Because of him I’d that we came here. He grew up here and always wanted to stay in The Rosevelt Suite. And we got it. Plus I always wanted to stay in a room a president stayed. Not only one president but 2. Loved this and will always remember this adventure. A millions thanks you Amy.
- 3/5
Overall the property served the purpose but was not our cup of tea.
- 5/5
The rich history of this place makes it 5 stars for me, it is worth the stay
- 5/5
Historic, convenient, staff, dining, courtyard, entertainment, bar, Nothing
- 5/5
I love the style. Keeping the classic original style with some modern elegance
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Beautiful, clean and quiet property. Restaurant had wonderful food and drinks. Only qualms are a leaky toilet. We woke up in the morning and a small pool of water was around the base of it.
- 4/5
The hotel had a lot of history, there were lots of cool things to see and news stories to read. I liked that it was dog friendly as we were traveling with our own dog. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The only issue we had was that we came in late from traveling and were only staying the night, we wanted to use the hot springs but was told we had to pay for a full day even though we could only enjoy it for about an hour. For all four of us the price wasn’t worth it. I would recommend that change by upper management.

- 5/5
Very nice property, stay here when we can. Just beautiful and historical. Very nice amenities and staff.
- 5/5
Super helpful staff, beautiful hotel with a lot of character, clean room and access to a large variety of activities nearby.
- 5/5
Our stay was wonderful
- 5/5
Staff were super friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel was beautiful and maintained well. Old hotel with a few quirks, but was awesome nonetheless. 5 star rating from this guy.
- 5/5
Great place with great food on site and a relaxing and inviting atmosphere.
- 4.5/5
We have stayed here a number of times over the years. The recent upgrades to the rooms was most noticable and appreciated. Everything in the room seemed so new. We always like spending time in the courtyard and lobby areas. Enjoyed a quick breakfast from the coffee shop. Such a nice quick walk over the river and RR to be right in downtown. Nice new sitting chair in the room . . . but why only one? Plenty of room for two sitting chairs. We are tea and not coffee drinkers; glad we brought our own hot water heater to make tea.
- 4/5
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Only one person working the desk during check in so the line was extremely long and took some time. Other then the lengthy check in wait it was a pleasant stay
- 5/5
This Hotel is a classic. From the lobby and Main Hall to all the suttle touches throughout the inside. The staff was great. The food was amazing. The drink was typically and nothing to brag about. The Hotel grounds are very nice and have welcoming areas to sit and relax. Our suite was large, simple, and perfect for our stay. I would recommend the Colorado Hotel to anyone stopping in Glennwood Springs. Just remember to enjoy the hotsprings, river, Adventure Park, and the rest of the town.
- 4/5
Cean rooms, bartenders were very nice and enjoyable.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
We only stayed one night but the room was great and the staff was very helpful. Will stay again
- 5/5
Nice old Legacy hotel with history and good location.
- 4/5
Great older hotel with a grand history. location was optimal. Staff was very helpful and responsive. Great restaurant and bar with grounds to relax on. A short walk to the hot springs. Only negative was some musty odors that you can expect in a place that old. I would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Such a quiet room and location. It was very relaxing. I just wish my room would have had a refrigerator. A historic building with great outdoor spaces.
- 5/5
Wonderful historic hotel with excellent location to hot springs pools and walkable to downtown. Loved the bar and restaurant, the fountain and outdoor fire pits made for a beautiful evening and dinner. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
I fell in love with this historic old hotel. It has all the charm mixed with modern updates. I spent a lot of time in the garden area where they have outdoor dining and lounge chairs. Afternoon and evening entertainment made for a great relaxing time. It’s right next to the hot spring pools and a great connecting bridge to shops, restaurants and nightlife
- 5/5
Loved the room! Bar was great.
- 5/5
It was a perfect place for a romantic evening.
- 3/5
I’ve stayed here 5 times. I was charged parking for the first time. The old air conditioner would loudly kick on and turn off within a minute. That kept happening. This place is normally superior.
- 5/5
Great location, historically interesting, and friendly staff.
- 4/5
I do recommend to go but plan on an extra day for the hot spring experience if you are going to pay $55 per person to use the pool.
- 5/5
Excelente servicio, instalaciones históricas muy bonitas, comida deliciosa y una ubicación privilegiada
- 2/5
good
- 5/5
The history, the restaurant, and the grounds were all amazing. Paying for parking
- 4/5
Lovely historic hotel.
- 5/5
Great room that was nice and clean. With beautiful views. Staff was wonderful. We loved dining outside. Delicious food too. Can't wait to come back!
- 4/5
You can't beat the location of this historic hotel that has been beautifully renovated. The staff is great and rooms are clean and comfortable. Both times I've stayed here in recent years have been noisy. The first time my room was above a wedding reception/dance party that went on until 1am; the hotel comped some of my stay. This time I was on the 3rd floor and had to deal with an extremely loud party above me (with children who ran around for extended periods!). Next time I will book the top floor. There was also a lot of street noise from a/c units they had temporarily installed in the windows. It's a nice hotel but if you're noise-sensitive, take note.
- 5/5
Very helpful and courteous staff
- 5/5
Great Property. I will stay there again!
- 4/5
Unfortunately, our interactions with the front desk staff — specifically the evening staff — were noticeably less welcoming. Upon arrival, the check-in experience felt cold and impersonal. Rather than being greeted warmly, it felt as though we were inconveniencing the staff simply by checking in. Additionally, during our stay, I politely asked the front desk whether there might be a fork I could borrow. After what appeared to be visible annoyance, I was directed to ask the restaurant instead, without any attempt to assist further. While the property itself is stunning and our upgraded suite made for an unforgettable stay, the level of hospitality displayed by the evening front desk staff did not reflect the caliber of the hotel itself. A warmer, more guest-focused approach from the front desk team would greatly improve the overall guest experience.
- 3/5
Window did not shut and tape around the ac unit in the window
- 3/5
Our toilet was leaking on the floor from the base and looked like it had been for awhile. Yummy. The pillows were about the smallest I have seen lol. Think square decorative type. Bed is firm if that's your thing. AC is dated and loud but thankful we had it. Room service was good. Breakfast was ok. Coffee shop was meh. We had to ask for more towels and toilet paper. Room was clean-ish if you didnt look too close. The staff was incredibly nice and the hotel itself is pretty cool. Definitely check out the fire stairs if you stay. Its a perfect location for walking to the shops and hotsprings. We didnt pay for parking because we parked on the street. I do think its silly to charge your guests parking after they pay to stay in the hotel and mostly likely eat and drink there too. I probably wouldn't make this my first pick if I came back but if it was all I could get, it would be ok.
- 2/5
The property is a haven for those who appreciate an antique aesthetic, though the rooms prioritize historical motif over contemporary convenience. The absence of a refrigerator and microwave made the stay a bit less functional, and the lack of climate control in my room made for an uncomfortably warm experience, despite the provided window box fan. I was also disappointed by the undisclosed parking fees, which were not mentioned in the initial reservation details.
- 5/5
Great historical hotel in a great location. Clean rooms and friendly staff.
- 5/5
The location is very handy and there’s a sidewalk out the front door to walk directly to downtown, which was a very nice walk right over the river with amazing views. According to the room you pick you might want to be a little careful. Our bathroom was absolutely tiny like a small broom closet. I would recommend getting a little bigger room if possible.
- 5/5
They were not very friendly, nor welcoming. Everybody else was friendly and respectful. We enjoyed our stay. Would I stay there again? Possibly.
- 3.5/5
The pet fee was high and unexpected.
- 5/5
We liked everything! Food was exceptionally good!
- 5/5
Close to everything. Great staff. Very nice public areas. Poor WiFi
- 5/5
Great location nice hotel with a lot of character. Really liked the place. Well we will
- 5/5
Great hotel located close to downtown. Loved the ability to walk most places. Didn’t get a haunted room but there’s always next time!
- 4/5
I liked how old it is
- 5/5
Good atmosphere
- 5/5
Loved the hotel and ambiance. The location is great, so easy to walk to Hot Springs pool. Such a cool historic hotel and reading about the history of it. Will be back!
- 4.5/5
Beautiful, spacious, historic . Location is convenient to downtown and the pool
- 5/5
The hotel was perfect. Loved our stay!
- 5/5
Very attractive older hotel in a cool location. Staff was very helpful, they drove us to multiple spots. It is older so there are no in room heat controls but they brought me a space heater when I asked. The only thing I didn't like was that the pillows were terrible.
- 5/5
The staff is another big plus. The hotel has a low-key vibe; the staff doesn't bug or overwhelm you, but they were available, efficient and very pleasant whenever we had any question or needed anything. And I saved the best for last: Hotel Colorado is dog-friendly on steroids! We couldn't believe how many dogs were there, and again, low-key, they're just taken in stride. $50/night pet fee, but that's not the worst I've seen. 'Got a great room rate through Expedia, so no worries. I also found a great dog-sitter named Heather who stayed in our room with puppy while I went out to dinner. If you're looking for a dog-friendly hotel in Glenwood, THIS IS THE PLACE!
- 5/5
Great hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms. Also super dog friendly and a good restaurant on-site.
- 4/5
Fance building.
- 3/5
Hotel was nice if you enjoy the history. Though the doors and walls were paper thin so it felt as though people in the hall were right there in the room with you. Difficult to bare with small children and louder crowds in the halls at night.
- 5/5
Loved the view of the courtyard. We were only there one night, but everything was perfect! Great walking distance to all the things Glenwood Sorings has to offer.
- 4/5
perfect getaway with historical memories ;)
- 5/5
Charming clean and comfortable. Expedia overbooked the single king room so the hotel staff gave us a family room with a king bed and guest room with two queen beds no extra charge. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Already want to go back!
- 5/5
The stay was amazing, our server Jon was so nice and amazing!! our chef Joey made the best Brussel sprouts I've ever tasted!!!
- 5/5
Historic hotel, room had plenty of room. The bed was comfortable and close to hot springs
- 0.5/5
Location was the only thing. Awful customer service. Had no respect for people with disabilities. Gave away one of our rooms. Then lied about it being booking.com’s fault. After they left a voicemail saying you have a reservation for 2 rooms. No manager on site. Room was not clean bugs flying around. No counter space in the bathrooms. Tile in bathroom not clean.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and very cozy.
- 4/5
breakfast was great
- 5/5
Only drawback was that the bathroom was very, very small. We still made it work! Due note that the room did not have air conditioning in early april when we went, but with a window that opened wide to the fresh mountain air we did not need it whatsoever.
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff, interesting history. Nice coffee shop and great location. They said hot water takes 5-7 minutes to “activate”….but it never got hot after 20 minutes. Not warm enough to shower. Decent keurig machine but couldn’t get it to work right. Would recommend for a visit despite the challenges.
- 4/5
Clean comfortable room. The bathroom had no space to hold makeup etc but was fine. No pool or hot tub on property but across the street from hot springs.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 5/5
It was walking and (wheelchair) distance from the train station. The historic feeling of the hotel is charming. The thermal pools are across the way- we walked (wheelchair) over in our sweats and robes. There is only a ramp into the property on one side of the building. I think that should have been included information in our confirmation of an accessible room- as we came up on the wrong side. FYI- ramp is on right side of the building.
- 5/5
Excellent!
- 5/5
Very nice property and close to town.
- 5/5
very nice hotel
- 5/5
Love to stay at historic hotels. Across hot springs. Deli available .
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time. The room was quaint and comfortable, parking was easy, and the grounds were beautiful! We were especially thankful to be able to bring our dog with us. We will be back!
- 5/5
Each time that I have been to Hotel Colorado, I have been met with kind and helpful staff, clean and comfy rooms, and an all around excellent experience. Plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance, but also, the bar and hotel restaurant/room service is always delicious. The history loving side of me always enjoys roaming the hallways in the lobby and reading the plaques under the pictures and artifacts that decorate the Hotel Colorado. And, as always, a quick walk down to the Hot Springs or Vapor Caves is a must!
- 2/5
Out of 4 interactions, one employee we asked for directions was very nice, but for check-in, ordering a tap beer, and check-out all the rest gave us dirty looks as soon as we started to approach them like they hoped we’d turn around and go away. I don’t need to be treated like a princess, I don’t even need a smile - just don’t be rude *when you work in hospitality*. Especially for check out, like we are literally leaving, can the attitude for 2 seconds and we’re gone! It was crazy. Also there was no hand soap in the bathroom and the toilet tissue was the thinnest I’ve ever seen. Location was great, but chose other nearby options - this place reeks of new management cutting corners.
- 5/5
Great views
- 5/5
Electrical needs help call - room was hot
- 5/5
Beautiful place.
- 5/5
This place was absolutely fantastic
- 5/5
Food, drinks and property were great. It is a historic hotel so the bathrooms are older - but still great!
- 5/5
The ambiance The cost of one night
- 3.5/5
Location Beautiful vintage decor Inability to control heat Its either on or off. We were constantly opening windows and running ac We had a top floor suite which was gigantic but sparsely furnished and poorly lighted
- 3/5
Room was incredibly hot even though cold outside and heater was turned off. Very loud too.
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable. Nice staff. Easy to access
- 4/5
Older hotel in need of some modern upgrades. Staff was very warm and welcoming.
- 4/5
I understand that you need to level set expectations when staying at a historical hotel (i.e. shower heads too low for someone 6’-0”). However some modern conveniences like a mini fridge and microwave in the room would be nice.
- 5/5
Great all around
- 5/5
I had car trouble during my stay. The staff accommodated me by letting me extend my stay in the same room for an extra night. That was so helpful.
- 5/5
Great location for the hot springs. This historic hotel is right across the street and within walking distance of restaurants & shops, right over the bridge. The hotel has a great restaurant located in the lobby offering a wide array of food & beverages. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. Would highly recommend.
- 5/5
Cute and cozy hotel, lots of shops and restaraunts in walking distance. Hot Springs was amazing and the views were incredible!
- 5/5
While the hotel does show its age, that’s part of its character and authenticity. If you appreciate historic charm, this place delivers. The location couldn’t be better—everything is incredibly accessible. It’s just a short walk to the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, plus all the cute shops, restaurants, and little local spots nearby. It’s also super easy to get to right off the highway, which made traveling in and out a breeze. The scenery is stunning, surrounded by mountains and natural beauty, and the staff was absolutely amazing—friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout the entire stay. If you’re looking for a place with character, history, and a perfect location, this is it. I would definitely stay here again!
- 4.5/5
The fact of this is a historical building turned into a motel is really cool The fact that so many historical figures and people from previous times that were famous or socialites frequented here was really neat. Location was awesome for walking most of everything I needed was in walking distance. People who were working there were extremely friendly The breakfast. For some reason during the only time we have ever considered ordering room service at any hotel ever our anniversary breakfast just was not good. The biscuits and gravy the biscuits were still hard and frozen kind of dry the gravy tasted like dog food had been mixed in and the creeps tasted burnt which is crazy cuz I don't know if you can burn crepes
- 4.5/5
Loved the fact that the windows opened. We were close to the Hot Springs and could walk. We didn't have to drive another mile as we had dinner on the premises. Would have liked to have been instructed on how best to get our luggage in. Only one side has accessibility without stairs. Good news they had a baggage rack and an elevator.
- 5/5
I loved my stay here--an old-fashioned hotel but with amenities and a great location--couldn't be better. It was unseasonably warm in March (in the 80s),which made it a different experience from what I expected--they have two fireplaces in the lobby with all kinds of comfortable seating, but it didn't turn out to be the right season! The views were great, the history fantastic.
- 3/5
That being said the mattress and linen were decent. The location is great and it was nice having a cafe and restaurant in the building,
- 3/5
This was a very nice hotel. However, it did not have a pool as advertised in the picture on Expedia. It was across the street from the Glenwood Hotel hot springs which cost $44.00, so add another $88.00 dollars for a couple to stay here and use the pool.
- 5/5
The room was clean, the staff was very friendly. We had a great stay here!
- 5/5
Absolutely EVERYTHING!!!!! Not applicable.
- 4/5
Nice historical place. No refrigerator no microwave.
- 5/5
Pretty

Lovely stay at a beautiful historic property
- 5/5
Beautiful, comfortable and lovely
- 4/5
Hotel Colorado is a beautiful old, historic hotel. The history is so interesting and it is conveniently located across the stree from Glenwood Hot Springs Pool. The rooms were fairly clean, though a look behind doors and side tables reveals dust that doesn't always get attended to. I was using a knee scooter and was able to access one entry for my stay. It would have been nice to be able to exit into the courtyard as this was the most impressive entry/exit. For the $ a complimentary breakfast would have been nice. We did have two Keurig pods in the room but no fridge. With all the nice dining around a fridge would have been nice to store leftovers. Overall, this family of 4 had a nice stay in this historic hotel.
- 5/5
Girls trip to the hot springs was made even better by staying at this beautiful, historic hotel. I love the way history is preserved without it looking old or worn. A true step back in time with modern day amenities.
- 5/5
It was like staying in a historical hotel. Everything was just perfect.
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Comfortable bedding, nice furnishings, large room made this stay memorable
- 2.5/5
The location was great. Front desk staff were very friendly. Restaurant staff seemed annoyed every time someone walked in. It was 90+ degrees all week and the hotel does not have A/C. Cobwebs in all the corners tell me it isn’t cleaned very well. Towels were falling apart they were so old and ragged.
- 5/5
Location
- 4/5
The bar had nice selection of drinks.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff
- 5/5
I love the lobby and all the historic artifacts. I’ve been coming to this hotel every time I visit Glenwood for the past 45 years. It is charming and well maintained
- 5/5
Historic character and the old decor was interesting. Stories were also fascinating.
- 5/5
The rooms are spacious. Love the free robes to use. Close to the Glenwood Springs pool, and downtown restaurants and shops. Staff friendly. Food excellant at restauarant.
- 5/5
Beautiful! Across from hot springs. Charming during Christmas
- 5/5
We did not drive but were initially charged a daily parking fee. They did fix this for us, but make sure to check your invoice.
- 4/5
Courtyard noise late at night that permeates your quiet.
- 4/5
Very old historic Hotel beautifully maintained! It does not have the amenities as more modern hotels, no in room microwave or refrigerator we weren’t sure how to control the temperature in our room. The staff was very nice and the beds were super comfortable! It’s was fairly affordable for the location and very charming
- 5/5
No refrigerator nor microwave.
- 3/5
No hot water......and no discount for hot springs pool
- 3/5
The bar was wonderful.
- 4/5
This is not a super modern luxury hotel but it is one of the most historically significant hotels in the US and the rooms have been tastefully upgraded and a fabulous location.
- 5/5
Great hotel and restaurant in hotel, nice town and very convenient for hot springs
- 5/5
I have stayed multiple times at Hotel Colorado. The staff is friendly and the hotel was very dog friendly. Me, my husband and my pup had a great time. Looking forward to next time!
- 5/5
Super nice, great condition and so pretty
- 5/5
Location and historical Room was kinda hot
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Colorado. The room was clean and comfortable for our family of four. The hot water didn’t take long at all for the sink and the shower. The hotel was very busy during our stay but we didn’t hear a lot of noise. It is an older hotel, but that is part of the charm. The grounds are beautiful and the staff was very friendly! I would definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
The Building is beautiful the customer service was good and the property is beautiful! Across the street from the Hot Springs and the bridge that takes you over to down town. Right next door is a sports shop and John was so knowledgeable and very helpful. Parking is $15 a night but that was great it was right across the street and we never had to circle or look twice for a parking space. Really enjoyed the stay.
- 5/5
A beautiful historical hotel in walking distance from downtown! Rooms are updated and clean and I’m big on a clean room 😀 Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was free if you park in the front or on the sides of the hotel. Don’t waste your $ on the $15 a day for the private parking. Glenwood Springs is a beautiful mountain town with plenty to do from dining, hiking, skiing, shopping ect. Will definitely be back!
- 5/5
This historic hotel was amazing! It was truly like going back in time. No one was locked up in their rooms. Everyone was out enjoying the amenities. People playing puzzles or reading in the lobby People eating in the amazing restaurant (themed dinner for st pattys day). People with a drink and snack by the outdoor fire pits. It truly was precious. Walking distance to all the fun spots in downtown Glenwood. Reasonably priced. I will stay here again and again!
- 5/5
It was an amazing building and the view was excellent! Great staff and very easy to access the Hot Springs.
- 4/5
Beauty, but not a lot of sleep. Our room was at the front of the hotel, which gave us a great view. The problem was that it was very loud. The highway traffic sounds and the train were extremely loud. The hotel did not seem crowded, so I don't know why they put us in such a loud room. That said, everything else was great.
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
The hotel was very cute! The staff were very friendly and great location! We did the hot springs, and a hike and had a fantastic time!
- 5/5
Very clean room. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
- 1/5
I was tired and needed to rest but i had to wait and stress myself. In the morning. No hot water. Didn't take a shower. The morning in the lobby said you have to wait up to 7 min for the hot water to kick in. What a joke. Terrible experience. Will not stau there again nor to recommend it .
- 4/5
Goodst
- 5/5
Well maintained historic hotel. On site restaurant, bar and coffeehouse. Huge lobby with 2 fireplaces.
- 5/5
Our room was spotless. All the staff was courtious. An easy walk to the springs. We had a lovely stay.
- 5/5
History of the place is a beautiful American landmark
- 5/5
Friendly staff, very clean rooms, and a must-stay for history buffs
- 5/5
Staff was awesome, took was so amazing.
- 5/5
We loved our stay at this beautiful historic hotel! Despite its age (1893), the hotel has been well maintained and updated. We loved our room - the Molly Brown Suite! Located at the very top of the hotel - it was a small apt with roof access. Loved all the photos in the suite documenting the history of the "unsinkable" Molly Brown. We only stayed one night but really enjoyed our room and breakfast the next morning in the hotel's restaurant. Great service & food. They also accommodated my husband's gluten free needs (celiac) very well.
- 4/5
clean room; great location; historic property
- 5/5
Room was amazing, the building is gorgeous. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, I can’t wait to come back and stay!! Will definitely be a favorite of mine to come back to.
- 4/5
Yes, for its age.
- 5/5
The room was amazing. The design and commitment to keeping the hotel historic makes it truly stand out from other hotels.
- 4/5
Property was well maintained and across the street from hot springs . Staff was helpful and pleasant. Room were small, understandable as property is more than 100 years old . Price was great, free parking as well .
- 5/5
It's a really wonderful, historic property with smart, helpful staff, the perfect location, and a nice restaurant.
- 5/5
Clean room, super comfy bed, gorgeous property
- 2/5
El hotel no viene con entrada a las aguas termales y cuando llame a preguntar dijeron que si
- 5/5
Stars are for the staff and food! Staff very nice and helpful. The food very good. Enjoyed the history of the building/property. The rooms were small and difficult to control the temperature. All the doors to the rooms have large gaps so you can hear absolutely everything in adjoining rooms and hallway. Very unpleasant and not at all restful. Amenities were adequete.
- 5/5
This historic hotel is everything you would want it to be. It’s lovely as are the staff and all amenities. The room was perfect, comfortable bed and plenty of room. Had drinks in bar, dinner in dining room and room service breakfast and it was all fabulous
- 5/5
The room was very clean. It was THE BEST service I have ever had. Very accommodating. Everyone was very friendly.
- 5/5
Loved the historic charm. Will definitely be there once again.
- 5/5
we loved the history of the place. the room was very nice, bathrobes at no charge, handy Hope to stay again in the future.
- 5/5
Lovely historical hotel with charming lobby, very comfortable beds and clean rooms. Enjoyed the restaurant and bar service and food.
- 5/5
The man at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. It is a very cool hotel with a lot of history. We enjoyed the room service too!
- 2/5
What a let down this stay was. The amount of noise that night and the following morning was just as bad minus the alarms. I don’t know how anyone sleeps in that hotel. They must be getting rooms away from anyone else somehow. We are aware there was a wedding on Valentine’s Day night, but our room was not near that area thankfully. It would have been appreciated to have the hotel acknowledge, and apologize for the fire alarm going off valentines morning and possibly offer something to make it right especially given the romantic holiday.
- 3/5
The room was great and the staff were very friendly. I booked a king room 2+ months in advance-when we arrived we were told that Expedia overbooks and were then placed in a double queen. This is certainly not the hotel or staff’s fault, but they did fail to notify us of the change until we were checking in. That was an unfortunate surprise. Again, not the staff’s fault, but a heads up would have been nice since it was a holiday weekend.
- 5/5
Older hotel, very nice, clean, great amenities, wlking distance to the hot springs and downtown area. Easy parking. Easy access to highways. 45-60 minutes from Aspen, Vail & Snow Mass. Great place to stay when visting this area. Spent four(4) lesiure days there. Plenty to do!!
- 5/5
Courteous staff. Wonderful restaurant. Clean rooms. Comfortable mattresses. The historical exhibits are really interesting. We would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Yes, great service and clean
- 4/5
They charge for parking, but place multiple cones and we can’t find parking.
- 5/5
Room was great. Staff was excellent. Restaurant was very good and the staff (Jon) was a joy to talk with.
- 5/5
Clean room, pet friendly, friendly staff, convenient location. Coffee shop and bar on site. Would be nice if they would have offered a continental breakfast included in cost of stay. Beautiful building.
- 5/5
Hotel is an incredible piece of history, room was very nice
- 5/5
Clean lobby, halls, stair way, and rooms. Very relaxing inviting environment. The history all over the hotel. If you stay visit each floor and read the history around the lobby
- 2/5
Staff interactions consistently felt unwelcoming, as if basic requests were a burden. The complimentary shuttle, which was a major reason I booked, was poorly handled — I was told to call in the morning, only to find out then that it wasn’t running, causing me to be late due to staff miscommunication. I was also overcharged, with menu prices not matching itemized bills. Towels and robes were extremely rough, and the shower water pressure was nearly nonexistent. Positives: comfortable bed, decent (but overpriced) food, and historic charm. Still, the experience does not justify the cost. I would not recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
I have always wanted to stay at this historic hotel, and it was a great stay!
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 5/5
The room was perfect! This is an amazing, historic hotel and I am glad my family was able to experience it!
- 5/5
Had a great stay at Hotel Colorado! Close to everything, restaurants, hot springs & shopping! Special room upgrade! In hotel dinning and exceptional staff!
- 1/5
Old, run-down hotel with zero privacy. You can hear every word, step, and noise from neighboring rooms. The bathroom is so cramped you can barely move. Completely uncomfortable stay
- 5/5
No amenities, but the room was spacious, the staff was kind, the historic vibe was lovely, bed was comfy. Bonus points for the jazz playing in the lobby.
- 5/5
Courteous staff
- 4/5
I really enjoyed this hostoric hotel. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and professional. Modern upgrades are tastefully done.
- 5/5
Clean room, lots of historic stories, very welcome
- 5/5
Only bad thing I can say about this hotel is that the remote control needed to be replaced. I will be coming back again in Spring.
- 5/5
Fantastic place to stay and excellent staff!!!
- 3/5
Also if you are staying here with hopes to get access to the hot springs, you do NOT get access with it.
- 5/5
Overall grear experience. I would return if back in the area.
- 5/5
Bathrobes you could take to the hot springs.
- 5/5
This was our first time at this hotel and loved it. I love the charm that it brought will still having all the necessary modern conveniences. I would definitely stay again if in the area.
- 5/5
We love the Hotel Colorado and have excellent stays with each visit. Super clean rooms that have been recently updated (last 3 years). Very friendly staff that remembers their guests! Food in dining room (we only have breakfasts there) is excellent. Location to the Hot Springs pool and Iron Mountain is perfect. It is our only choice for a hotel when we visit Glenwood Springs!
- 5/5
Staff went above and beyond! Lenya in particular was incredibly helpful and made us feel like a valued customer when we asked to extend our stay.
- 5/5
Nice historic hotel with charm & in an excellent location! Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the ease of being able to wear the hotel robes to walk over to the Glenwood Hot Springs and that the hotel offered us extra towels to take so that we didn't have to pay for them as the pool.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Great location, very nice staff. Highly recommend
- 5/5
All the people working there are so kind and the hotel is cleam
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Love everything about this hotel! Great ambiance. Good food. Nice rooms. Good service.
- 5/5
Clean room, kind staff, well decorated for the holidays, fireplaces in the lobby, went down to borrow a deck of cards from front desk and played by the fire, has the feel similar to a national park lodge. Very kind to our pooch, too
- 5/5
It was nice.
- 5/5
Walking distance to hot spring pool.
- 5/5
Pet friendly and the staff is very courteous and accommodating for anything you need
- 4/5
Great old historic hotel very close to amazing hot springs.
- 5/5
Very beautiful old hotel! Well maintained! We loved our stay
- 5/5
Employees were delightful & helpful!
- 5/5
Comfortable and beautiful historic hotel! The location can’t be beat, you can walk pretty much everywhere.
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was very kind and helpful, beautiful location, overall very good experience.
- 5/5
Great staff. Terrific restaurant. Holiday decor in this iconic, historic hotel is fun for young and old.
- 5/5
Love staying here. It is an old historical hotel that has charm and is also comfortable. Restaurant is yummy, close walk to all of the downtown shops
- 5/5
Room had a comfortable bed, high ceilings, and we were spaced out from other guests, so it felt private and quiet. Lots of cool history and so much holiday spirit.
- 5/5
Beautiful, historic hotel with courteous staff and a prime location. All Glenwood Springs has to offer is an easy walk away. We absolutely loved our stay and would happily return!
- 3/5
Great old time feel. Nicely decorated. Too many noisy kids and nothing done about it. Lobby very busy. Staff not that helpful.
- 5/5
This place was absolutely gorgeous
- 5/5
Clean. But restaurant staff take forever to take care of you
- 5/5
I have Celiac Disease. With my party, we dined in every single night, and we had breakfast every day. Never got sick once. Never. Plus, the staff was knowledgeable, courteous, and well-educated. The premises are simply beautiful and very well appointed. Thank you so very much!
- 3/5
The room was pretty gross when we arrived. Towels/robes were crusty and stained. And their were to beer cans left in the room. Neither my partner nor I drink. It’s a great location but I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the room when we arrived. The staff did nothing to remedy it.
- 5/5
Spotless, Beautiful Room. Friendly Staff. Great location, close to hot springs. Historic, Unique, and spectacularly manicured, decorated.
- 5/5
The room was great with the balcony
- 5/5
Clean room and atmosphere in the lobby
- 5/5
Great historical hotel to stay in Glenwood Springs! Restaurant bar staff was great! Walking distance to everything and has transportation to farther places including the train station!
- 5/5
Everything was awesome..Great hotel. I really like the history behind it.
- 5/5
Bed was very comfortable. The lobby was a nice place for families to visit, hangout and play games. Very upscale feel with friendly charm.
- 5/5
Furst and formost I think her name was Layna? Lana? Or Lyla? She was so helpful with our check in and any questions I had. She was very personable. Our room was well clean and stocked. The cleaning staff was gracious enough to give us extra towels for the family. We did eat at the restaurant which was clean. Our server was attentive and checked on us at a meaningful time. He even upsold us dessert which was delicious
- 5/5
The room was clean and amazing, the staff was helpful, professional and friendly, we loved it
- 5/5
5 stars across the board
- 5/5
Great Hotel, good location, very pretty around Christmas
- 2/5
The only good part was the Christmas decorations and the staff was very nice.
- 5/5
With great staff and conveniently located, this is a great place to stay in Glenwood Springs
- 2/5
The room needed updated. The bathtub dripped, the bathroom walls were dirty, the bath robes were beyond scratchy, the bed was extremely lumpy as well as the pillows. The walls are thin as paper. For $348 a night this was a travesty.
- 3/5
Excessive charges. Paid parking is new. I never had to pay before. Brunch was 30% more than advertised. Watch out!
- 5/5
Amazing staff great scenery and lovely hot springs.
- 5/5
Love the great service and the swimming pool and the cleanliness
- 3/5
Bed bugs.
- 3/5
Room dirty, bed lumpy, dining experience bad with staff bringing out wrong food, noisy in halls with dogs barking and kids yelling while unsupervised. Third stay here. This time Noticed place was not staffed. Bar staff and transportation was excellent!
- 5/5
Yes Everything was spectacular; from the moment we entered, the atmosphere was excellent.
- 5/5
The clean and well maintained Hotel was a pleasure to stay at! The staff was friendly and professional. This is our fifth stay here and we will always come back. Hotel Colorado is an icon and a gem for us Coloradoans!
- 5/5
Great holiday decorations and staff who gave up their own holidays to do a wonderful job hosting their guests.
- 5/5
Large rooms, comfy bed
- 5/5
Clean rooms, friendly staff, abundant parking spots
- 4/5
Nice historic building
- 5/5
It’s an iconic GWS hotel with wonderful holiday decorations and charm! It’s an annual tradition:)
- 4/5
Dogs barking in halways at night were disturbing
- 5/5
Our room was very clean with lots of space.
- 5/5
Beautiful property, especially during Christmas with really nice decor. If you like history you will love it, historic hotel built in 1893. Rooms were spacious and clean, we tried the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, food was good, service was very good and prices were reasonable. Very close to downtown area and the hot pools. The hotel is especially nice during holidays with beautiful Christmas decorations, kids love it.
- 5/5
We loved our stay at the Hotel Colorado. It was beautifully decorated for the Holidays and there is so much history in the building itself. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My only complaint is because it is such an old building it can be loud and there isn’t much soundproofing. We enjoyed eating breakfast at the restaurant and dining at the bar as well. Top notch stay and facilities are close to the hot springs.
- 2/5
Staff and servers were grate. Somewhat disappointed with front desk check in
- 5/5
The hotel has great staff, beautiful decor and excellent food. We love the place.
- 5/5
Perfect.
- 5/5
Great place for Christmas season. It was beautiful.
- 5/5
a historic hotel not new but service was great and was a fun place to stay
- 4/5
Gentleman waiting tables Saturday night in the restaurant was top tier service! We usually enjoy staying at Hotel Colorado! During Christmas time it’s just beautiful with the decorations! A couple things that stood out were the phones in the rooms do not ring to the front desk if you have a question. It rang to someone’s room and we even pushed the front desk button! We tried calling on our personal cell phones and it’s a dead signal. Little inconvenience to have to go downstairs when we were having an issue in our room with the electrical. The breaker blew and we didn’t have electricity for several hours and had to ask twice about getting it fixed. The ceiling light was also out in the sitting room and we did mention it to the first guy we spoke with but it never got repaired. And the last inconvenience was the alarm was automatically set to 6am Sunday morning which was an annoyance as we did not set it.
- 5/5
The room was clean, the staff was courteous and prompt
- 4/5
Wonderful central location. Main hotel staff was prompt and professional, front desk and cleaning staff on point. Lobby was amazing, real fireplaces. Having more control of the room temperature and having laundry facilities on site would be appreciated in the future.
- 5/5
Staff were wonderful! Amy was very helpful with our early check-in and getting us a great room with a view of the courtyard. Our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed walking around seeing all of the Christmas decor and getting to read about the history of the hotel.
- 5/5
The vibes were right! Also prime location. Everything we wanted to do during our stay was in walkable distance <3 Staff was lovely as well!!
- 5/5
Amenities
- 5/5
Great stay. Cannot wait to come back again soon.

Beautiful hotel...will be staying there again.
- 5/5
What an amazing place to stay!!!! So much history. The staff were great and the holiday decorations are a must see!!!
- 5/5
Will be coming back, so close to the hot springs and loved every minute of my stay.
- 5/5
This is a great spot.
- 5/5
Very cute hotel.

Thank you for your hospitality
- 5/5
Great hotel! Large, clean room, gorgeous lobby, within walking distance to the yampah spa.
- 5/5
Love the spacious room and the view. Love the location.
- 4/5
Great getaway with amazing Christmas decorations
- 5/5
Great location, within walking distance of restaurants, hot springs, shopping... Older but the age comes with some amazing history.
- 5/5
Always a wonderful stay! Friendly and helpful staff and a wonderful historical place.
- 5/5
Yes, staff were great! they had real cream for in-room coffee which I appreciated.
- 5/5
Hotel is always clean. Lots of restaurants nearby. Be aware its an older hotel, so dont expect too many accommodations.
- 5/5
The Hotel was Great. Everything we expected from being here before. The ONLY knock I’d give is, after being here for 4 days and spending what we did, I asked for a slightly longer checkout on departure day as our train didn’t leave for another 2 hours. The standard answer is 1 hour extra, after that we charge for a late check out. It was NOT that busy and I know for a fact the room we had was not looked at during that time. I just wish that Manage would empower the staff to think and apply reasonable sense to customer service requests. Just not the way it’s done anymore?? I totally understand if the hotel was soooo booked and needed the space ASAP it would be the case.
- 5/5
Fantastic facility, staff and room.
- 4/5
The hotel is a really fun, historic place to stay.
- 3/5
The christmas lights outside never where on. The bed and pillow were of poor quality.
- 5/5
Excellent room bq
- 5/5
Always a treat to stay here, especially during the holiday season when they decorate the main floor with over 60 Christmas trees. Just gorgeous! I also love the proximity to the hot springs pool, we always walk over in our robes, and it makes it easy to come and go from the pool.
- 5/5
This was an amazing stay, the rooms and staff and location was just a life time experience thank you so much
- 4/5
Property welcomed pets for $50 / nt. No breakfast included. It was a wonderful building from 1893 -- just remember that there is no air-conditioning. Grounds were lovely and evening fires provided a nice opportunity to meet other guests.
- 5/5
Fabulous
- 5/5
Fun place to stay with lots of Christmas decorations and fun old timey feel. Clean rooms
- 5/5
Awesome experience, staff was amazing especially the two guys on the front desk
- 5/5
Amazingp
- 5/5
Staff was incredible, room was clean. Wonderful place to stay.
- 5/5
The room was everything would expect. The staff was very nice and willing to help. History of the Hotel was so fun.
- 5/5
Very cool place
- 5/5
Fantastic staff, all around one of the best stats in Colorado!
- 4/5
Clean room and a historic hotel. Not the fanciest but we like it!
- 5/5
Beautiful property. Classic feel
- 4/5
We love historic places and this place has it. Staff were friendly and helpul. Breakfast was good, room was clean. Its downtown so we walked everywhere. The only downside? The bed was only okay. Pillows were thick and uncomfortable: not a great sleep. Didn't see ghosts...
- 5/5
Very comfortable
- 5/5
Everything was perfect!
- 5/5
The staff is always amazing.
- 5/5
Very helpful, friendly staff. Secure bike storage
- 5/5
I am a native Coloradan and have wanted to stay for years! It was a great experience and the staff is great! Quaint and was fun to see the hotel come alive as you decorated for Christmas!
- 5/5
Check in was quick and had a very nice young man answered all our questions.
- 5/5
Love this place
- 4/5
A
- 5/5
Staff is the best. 3rd floor great view!
- 3/5
Room was clean but hot without any way of cooling it off. Also never got requested microwave
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful, accommodations were fantastic, and nearby amenities were amazing.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel. This was my third time to stay here
- 5/5
Overall, I would definitely stay here again. If you're expecting a thoroughly modern hotel with all the accoutrements, I would probably look elsewhere. However, if you want charm and history, this is the place to stay. I never felt I compromised comfort or convenience for charm though. It is a perfectly lovely and comfortable place to stay.
- 5/5
Great experience in a living time capsule!
- 5/5
My only one thing I would suggest is that the music they play 24-7 in the lobby be turned down or off during the night time hours. We were on the second floor right above the lobby and I could hear beats of the music on the speakers in my room all night long. Maybe consider turning it off between 11 pm and 6 am? Thanks for another amazing getaway in Glenwood Springs
- 5/5
Great staff super clean loved everything about it
- 5/5
The hotel was absolutely beautiful, roaring fire, quiet, well appointed furnishings. The room was very large. Beds were amazing. Didn’t have any ghost experiences while roaming the hotel at 1 am. It was a wonderful experience.
- 5/5
The room was perfect. Love sitting in the lobby by the fire!
- 5/5
Room was awesome, staff was helpful, robes were furnished so the walk to/from hot springs kept us warm. So much history associated with this hotel which is also dog friendly.
- 5/5
We absolutely LOVED every second of our stay at this historic hotel. Our very close friends were married on site which made this trip particularly special. Extra special mention to the housekeeping staff; they did a fantastic job! The restaurant fare was decently priced and comparable to nearby options but so, so convenient. Having visited Glenwood Springs as a child, this nostalgic site did not disappoint.
- 4/5
Everyone I interacted with on the staff was really helpful and pleasant. Special shout out to Manny in the restaurant. Great service. Charming old building that's been fixed up. Still decorated in appropriate fashion for the time. Might look a little funky to some, but this is history. The restaurant is much better these days. Many hotels have you as a captured customer when it comes to food, but no need here. The food is good and carefully prepared. The cappuccinos are hot and come to your table quickly. Give it a try.
- 5/5
Our stay at Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs was wonderful! The historic charm, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff made it a great experience from start to finish. Everything was clean and well-kept, and we had no complaints. We’d definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Great old style hotel. Loved the staircase and wide hallways. Service excellent.
- 5/5
The hotel was great
- 5/5
Everything was absolutely beautiful
- 1/5
Another guest recorded the incident on video, clearly showing the manager’s behavior. We eventually left for the night without sleep. The historic setting can’t make up for management’s total disregard for basic guest comfort and safety. If you need rest or professionalism, look elsewhere until the hotel enforces quiet-hour and guest-safety policies.
- 1/5
Staff support lacking. There is a wedding reception below our room and it vibrated the floors. Nothing was done about it!!
- 5/5
The coffee shop was out of Almond Milk, and some pasteries. The fruit cup was old.

Was very clean and the staff were very attentive, it's a historic building with lots of charm, this is not a modern cookie cutter hotel. We loved the history. Great stay, we'll be back.

Great location, historical property both good and bad. I enjoyed the property's charm but found the overall condition a bit tired.
- 5/5
Really great historical property
- 5/5
We had a really great stay- nice rooms to stay in, helpful staff, great breakfast, very convenient, pretty oudoor patio. Really good value too for this nice of a hotel!
- 5/5
Clean room & friendly staff! 10/10
- 5/5
I like the history.
- 4/5
The staff was wonderful. I would stay here again.
- 4/5
Rooms cost way too much !!!!
- 5/5
Grand, historic charm characterize the experience here. The hotel was built in 1893, so the building had its quirks, but these add to the distinctive atmosphere. Our room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. Again the building is quite old, and our suite did not have a thermostat nor an exhaust fan in the bathroom, but it was comfortable nonetheless, as the ceiling fan and open windows did the trick.
- 2/5
The tile is bathroom was broken and up all around the tub and toilet. The sink was cracked, and it is historic, but could be kept nice, and not in ill repair.
- 5/5
Loved this historic grand old hotel that just exudes turn of the century charm and grandeur…not the 20th century, the 19th. It is like a snapshot of the history of the west with short walking distance to the historic Glenwood Springs Hot Springs and the Yumpah Vapor Caves. The main restaurant was also excellent. It was a favorite of Teddy Roosevelt, who visited often when the urge to shoot something with fur struck him. The best word I can think of to describe the Hotel Colorado is, authentic.
- 5/5
Clean rooms good staff.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Loved the character and location of this beautiful hotel
- 5/5
What a gorgeous property and room! We really enjoyed our stay here. Loved everything about this wonderful hotel except there is no air conditioning and Glenwood Springs gets very hot.
- 5/5
Great historic hotel! Wonderful stay.
- 5/5
Beautiful. Welcoming
- 5/5
We had a wonderful visit and will be back. The best hotel in Glenwood Springs hands down.
- 5/5
Like staying in a museum!
- 5/5
Lovely remodel, but they retained the historic charm and memorabilia. The staff was accommodating and helpful. The restaurant is fabulous!
- 5/5
Beautiful old 1800 hotel, beautiful lobby and carpet, outdoor seating with fire pits, koi pond. Walk to downtown shopping and restaurants. And walk to the natural springs!!
- 5/5
Stayed at this hotel for a girls trip. Great location to walk to food and shopping. Easy to walk to the Vapor caves and close enough to walk to both hot spring pools. The beds were comfy and the hotel is old and beautiful.
- 3/5
I was so excited to come to this beautiful hotel. It's been a lovely destination for most of my 68 years. This year we finally got to return and found it has become a "dog friendly" hotel. What a shame. It's definitely less classy and not worth the high price tag to be sharing with Fido.
- 4/5
Great vintage property
- 5/5
Staff was excellent-- we needed a refrigerator and they brought it right away.
- 4/5
Convenient to town and close walk to hot springs pool.
- 5/5
Comfortable and cozy. We loved our afternoon and evening on and off the property.
- 5/5
Unique hotel.
- 4/5
The hotel is a great historic landmark. The bathrooms could use some renovation. The toilets are so low it’s like sitting on the floor. The shower on hot gives you a trickle of water.
- 4/5
Clean, elegant, dated
- 5/5
Loved the restaurants, service, and location. The Courtyard was beautiful. The hotel is old and has been updated very nicely. Very clean which we appreciated. I would have appreciated room darkening window coverings and the window airconditioner kept us up as it kicks in and out a few times every hour. A mini frig would be nice as well as my husband has medication which needs to be kept cold. Other than those things our stay was very nice and definitely would go back.
- 5/5
We are repeat customers at the Hotel Colorado, and this stay was as great as ever. Fabulous location, easy walk to pools and town/restaurants, clean rooms with comfy beds, and a/c. We will be back!
- 4/5
Lovely historic hotel on a beautiful location.
- 5/5
Amazing!
- 2/5
No hot water, cable blinked on off and mostly off. Bug in my room. Staff knocking at my door at 9:15 am wondering when I was leaving/checking out. Not cool. Check in extremely insincere and robotic. Not one of my better stays.
- 4/5
Nice hotel
- 3/5
For the price paid to stay at this hotel, I was shocked that I had to pay $10/night for a refrigerator. We didn't have a basic room - we had a sitting room with separate bedroom. Also, there was a wedding the afternoon/evening we arrived. It was chaotic. We were told the outside bar/restaurant was open, but the wedding guests were still around and the bar was clearly closed. When we asked, the staff stated that they were just informed that it was closed and the person trying to organize things was stressed and wasn't able to provide any information. Also, no hot water the first night there. Disappointing stay, and I've been there before.
- 5/5
Pet friendly
- 2/5
The staff was generally very nice. Housekeeping did a great job, and the front desk was fine, though nothing exceptional. However, there was no valet service, and bell service wasn’t offered—so chasing down a luggage cart was an inconvenience. The hotel does provide a shuttle, but it stops running at 6:30 pm; fortunately, most of downtown Glenwood Springs is within walking distance. The room itself (551) was clean but basic. The furniture felt mismatched and not well thought out, and there was no fridge. The bathroom functioned, but it took nearly 10 minutes for the water to get hot. For nearly $400 per night, the accommodations did not feel like they justified the price. The bigger drawback was the overall condition of the hotel—it needs significant cosmetic updates. While the history of the building is impressive, the lack of upkeep makes it hard to overlook. Regarding the local scene, some of the nearby bars (like the Doc Holliday and the Springs bars) were very run-down, with bathrooms in poor condition. The town itself also seemed to have a surprising amount of drug use. Overall: This was a one-and-done trip for me.
- 5/5
It was great
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Was upgraded on arrival but upper floors don’t have a/c so was a little hot. Rooms very clean.
- 3/5
Location and amenities are great. Rooms are dated with thin walls. Noisy.
- 5/5
They were nice enough to let me check in early when I requested that in person. That helped a lot as I was having altitude sickness. AC was old and loud but everything else was really great. Decent breakfast!
- 4/5
Our stay was okay, the windows need washing in a big way, there were cob webs in our room in various places, chandelier upper nooks and crannies. People were great, breakfast was solid and our waiter was very good. I get the appeal of yesteryear things but without the yesteryear dirt and cobwebs.
- 5/5
This is my third time staying and I always love it. It’s a beautiful property. We really enjoyed the courtyard in the evening. And we love the walk ability.
- 5/5
Visited here 20 years ago and couldn’t wait to get back. Unique historic hotel. Very comfortable bed and friendly staff.
- 4/5
Hotel is very dated.
- 5/5
I was very pleased with the renovations. Rooms were comfortable and included a coffee maker finally. Property is beautifully landscaped. Patio restaurant and bar were wonderful.
- 5/5
Great historic place to stay!
- 5/5
Love this old hotel. The renovations keep expanding and bringing it back to its former poshness.
- 4/5
Good Location, quiet and comfortable
- 4/5
My only concern was the room service operator was difficult to understand...I never understood why businesses have persons who have a tough time communicating in English, in positions of direct contact will clients ie; operators, drive-thru restaurants, anyone face to face...very frustrating.
- 3/5
Properties history was interesting
- 5/5
Staying here felt like going back in time. The hotel is very well kept, clean and well lit. The rooms felt like a time capsule and the history of the hotel was highlighted throughout the establishment. Lots of lore about certain floors and rooms. The basement had a vibe. You couldn't get this experience staying at a big name hotel. Staying here was a definite highlight of the trip and made for great stories when we got home.
- 4/5
Hotel was beautiful difficult to find a place to park and also difficult to get bags in if you are handicapped in anyway. Staff was friendly restaurant staff excellent!
- 4/5
Nice older hotel but rooms are huge and very clean great atmosphere there bar restaurant lounging area close to everything
- 5/5
Classic historic hotel.
- 5/5
The front desk help was very friendly.
- 5/5
Nice that is was close to the mineral springs pool.
- 3/5
Paid for the upgrade to the Ambassasor suite, apparently in the Pent House. More like the servants quarters and noisy small window AC.
- 5/5
We had a great time and the property was beautiful. Everything is conveniently located. The food was excellent and service was great from the outside dining experience to the inside restaurant. Room service coffee wasn’t great, coffee wasn’t hot and asked for a roller cart to take our things out and they couldn’t help us. But everything else was top tier. We would for sure come back!
- 5/5
Beautiful Hotel. Well maintained
- 5/5
The rooms were great
- 5/5
Amazing stay at Hotel Colorado. It is a beautiful, historic hotel in a great location. The Springs are just across the street and the pedestrian walkway over I-70 gives you walking access to the shops and restaurants in town. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Great location and a beautiful historic building
- 5/5
Beautiful historical hotel
- 3/5
It’s the iconic place to stay and expect the old nostalgic feel but the rooms are pretty dated and minimally equipped. You can pay an extra $15 a night for a refrigerator but rooms do have a kuerig coffee machine. LOVED the outside area, bar and restaurant! Best location with downtown just across the bridge.
- 5/5
One of the highlights for me was the outdoor patio. It had such a beautiful vibe, especially when the weather was nice. Just a heads up, though – it fills up pretty quickly, so if you’re planning to sit outside, make sure to get a reservation! Overall, our stay was really enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend this place.
- 5/5
We visit Glenwood Springs every year and always stay at Hotel Colorado. The hotel has its own special feeling due to its history and age, the staff is great and the rooms are comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of all the restaurants and hot springs. You can’t go wrong booking HC.
- 5/5
Historical aspect
- 5/5
Bathroom tiny, otherwise great
- 3/5
The bathroom door knobs were broken and not working.
- 4/5
Loved the hotel and location. Glenwood springs pools are right across the street and an easy 5 minute walk. We chose Glenwood Springs over Iron Mountain because it felt very open and less like Welshly Arms! The peach cobbler in the hotel restaurant was to die for! We stayed in the double queen and there was no vanity in the bathroom. But other than that, it was a nice hotel in a great location
- 2/5
All last time that I stayed - the entrance to the hot springs was included. Not worth the money anymore!!!
- 5/5
Really comfortable beds and pillows! Lovely courtyard. Helpful staff.
- 5/5
All was wonderful! The convenience to everything was perfect and the hotel itself was so unique and beautiful.
- 4/5
Breakfast was very overpriced. Other than that, it's a lovely old hotel with plenty of charm..have been coming here for years.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
.
- 4/5
Love the location and the ease of walking across the bridge into the town for dining and shopping
- 5/5
The property is dated yet iconic. The location is exceptional.
- 5/5
We appreciate that the hotel now has window unit AC, it was warm during our stay. Also, Ryan Lytrell was very helpful sort out a restaurant bill, and one of the desk clerks, Sola? went out of his way to help us print our boarding passes.
- 5/5
Very happy with our stay although we hoped for some ghostly encounters, we unfortunately did not!! Room was nice and bed was unbelievably comfy. Bathroom was clean but small...hotel is old, so this isn't a complaint simply an observation. AC in window was also likely due to age of hotel, but certainly not a problem. Loved the on-site restaurant...dinner was fabulous and our waiter Jon was quite charming and made great food/wine recommendations. We look forward to staying here again.
- 4/5
Its a well-restored hotel with a great classic feel to it. Lots of artifacts around the hotel from earlier times. Would have given it 5 stars overall but the front desk staff, although professional, were not very friendly and seemed like they were just doing what was required of them and nothing more.
- 5/5
Property is right across from the pool. Got a reasonable last minute rate on a weeknight. Room is very nice. Bathroom is very large!
- 5/5
Very authentic and comfortable
- 4/5
this is a beautiful old hotel! our bathroom was in need of a good cleaning and some maintenance with paint peeling on the ceiling and floorboards and a few cobwebs with bugs!
- 4/5
Historic property with a lot of character. Being historic some aspect are to be kept in mind: if visiting in summer the window A/C units might be bothersome, but overall manageable.
- 5/5
There is so much history in the hotel. It’s fascinating to learn the history of the hotel, to actually stay in this piece of our history. From the extra wide hallways on each floor to the beautiful main staircase that covers 5 floors, the beautifully restored lobby to the peaceful, quiet veranda and garden area that overlooks the big pool of the historic Glenwood Spa, it’s one of my favorite places in the Rocky Mountains. Downtown Glenwood is walk friendly with a great bridge over the Colorado River connecting the Colorado Hotel with the historic train station (still in use) and many excellent restaurants and shops, which are historic in themselves.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful, let us check in early, the courtyard was amazing.
- 5/5
Beautiful historical hotel. Calm and relaxing.
- 5/5
tables and fountain were Favorites. Short stroll to the hot spring pool. Good coffee shop. Comfy lobby. A long time favorite updated but retains historic flavor.
- 5/5
We love the history of this old hotel. It’s being nicely redecorated. It was comfortable and roomy. Service was excellent, but it seems like they are a bit understaffed. We loved sitting in the yard rocking chairs.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic property.
- 4/5
Food was very good!
- 2/5
First, there was no warm welcome. The staff at check-in seemed disinterested and cold, as if they were just going through the motions — no smiles, no hospitality. We were surprised to learn that parking came with an extra charge, which was not made clear beforehand. To make matters worse, the room was clearly not prepared for three guests, even though we had booked for three. The sofa bed was not made, and we had to insist on housekeeping coming to set it up. That alone took time we didn’t want to waste after a long journey. When I went to take a shower, there was no shampoo provided, and we had to call and request it. Even then, it took over 15 minutes — and the shampoo still didn’t arrive. The worst part? When we opened the shower mat, we found someone else's hair in it. That level of uncleanliness is unacceptable, especially at a hotel that is supposed to be upscale. This hotel completely failed on the two most basic standards: cleanliness and hospitality. For any price charged, this was a huge disappointment. I cannot recommend staying here and hope management takes this feedback seriously.
- 2/5
Not a luxury stay
- 5/5
Staff went beyond expectation!
- 5/5
Worth the money and stay at a historic hotel. If your into paranormal (which I am not really) "something" knocked bottles off a bathroom shelf all night long 😀
- 5/5
All the food was so good! Dane was so helpful, polite and quick to pick us up and unload our things in our room!
- 5/5
Great historic hotel. Really interesting and comfortable.
- 5/5
Great place to stay while enjoying the Hot Springs Pool next door! Awesome hotel.
- 5/5
Old room settings and general feel of the motel was very nostalgic . . . Torn up roads around the facility was a bummer and being charged to park your car was and is in poor taste - just a simple money grab.
- 5/5
This is my second time staying here. The staff is always friendly, and the rooms are spotless. The coffee at the cafe is excellent, and the bar is relaxing at night.
- 5/5
Love the history...staff is excellent ...Thank you Louis!
- 5/5
We love staying at the Hotel Colorado. It is conveniently located to restaurants and the hot springs. We love sitting on the patio to enjoy a cocktail and the lobby is very comfortable.
- 3/5
read quite a few reviews that the rooms ran hot and was dreading that but apparently they installed air conditioners in every room as a temporary fix while they work work on a more permanent solution so that was a non-issue. The service was great and it was a very clean establishment. It’s a very old structure and you can hear everything from adjoining rooms and the hallways and it’s not very safe for toddlers and crawlers. My wife and I probably wouldn’t have a problem going back but we would leave the kids with grandparents. overall stay was positive
- 4/5
Loved the courtyard area especially in the evening. Relaxing, and various seating areas. The historical decor and furniture felt authentic.
- 3/5
Not as nice as other historic hotels I’ve been too.
- 5/5
I have stayed here before and simply love this grand historic hotel. I had a great room this time at the end of the hall looking out over the original Hot Springs. It is an easy walk across the street to the Hot Springs or over the bridge right into downtown Glenwood Springs. The staff are always amazing, including the servers and bartenders. The hotel does not have laundry services, fitness center or pool but who cares? The history of the hotel is wonderful and I consider staying there a privilege.
- 4/5
Have stayed here for years, BUT breakfast for 2 was outrageously expensive, and the new pillows are hard as a rock. Kept me up all night. They have tried to make some improvements in the bedrooms, but still room for improvement
- 5/5
Very unique property with nice areas for dining and relaxing. Great location to access the downtown and hot springs
- 5/5
Liked the history of this historic hotel.
- 2/5
Wa Ted to have a “real” meal, so I called ahead to find out how late I could order room service and was told 10. I repeated it and was assured, 10. I called at 9:40, no answer—answering machine. Left message. Called front desk and was told they stop taking orders at 9:30. Couldn’t get a hold of anybody at the restaurant or manager. Was very perturbed. Always took front desk a long time to answer phone. Room had a small window air unit and you can’t use your hair dryer while it’s running or you’ll blow a fuse. I left without buying my teddy bear, just kinda disappointed. I hope they do better for others in the future as it’s a nice historic building. It really annoyed me after I made the effort to find out how late I could order room service (they had an good menu) and left the hot spring pool early to return in time only to end up eating bDomino’s.
- 3/5
Visited Glenwood, Colorado, with friends for a day at the hot springs and an overnight. Have stayed at the Hotel Colorado many times. The charm of the place lies in its history and proximity to the hot springs and the town of Glenwood. The staff is excellent, and we were provided an upgrade upon check-in. The challenge is that the rooms require upgrades, such as new carpet and updated beds. Little changes without changing the charm of the hotel.
- 5/5
It is hysterical hotel and it is clean
- 5/5
Loved it! Fun, clean, close to everything. And historical!
