The hotel is generally perceived as clean and comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff. However, many guests have issues with the quality of breakfast and the noise level from the nearby interstate. Some guests also mention outdated furnishings and lack of soundproofing in the rooms.

Didn't really use anything

Your b-fast choices: Cheerios, waffle, toast, OJ,yoghurt, & a banana. Minimal. Rather run-down with chips missing in paint & stains on fabric. Good location, friendly staff. A safe, cheap choice.
- 4/5
It was a great location easy on and off the freeway There was a dead bug right when I walked in the room. But hey I would rather see a dead one then a live one. Everything was very clean so I am sure it was a one off
- 1.5/5
The late night staff was polite and chill. The Indian guy in the morning was annoying, the hotel itself felt cheap, overpriced and trap-house esque
- 4/5
Very good

Good spot. People were really nice.

Breakfast was disappointed no hot food No cooked food

Right now, nothing I have a bunch of bedbug bites
- 3/5
Older motel trying to look new. Bedding was updated and clean. Love no carpeting in room and hallways. But hole in bathroom door, splintered at top, nothing else updated. Hotel had a perfume smell like they were trying to hide something. Would not stay even for one night. Very basic breakfast, but coffee and juice was fine. Run down parking lot, beside a gas station.

Was great
- 5/5
Clean rooms soft bed
- 5/5
You know, what we needed was a good bed and a place to get some rest, and we got that here. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and we got right back on the road.

The staff was great and very helpful along with really clean rooms and a wonderful breakfast 😀

Very good

With no other rooms in town available (graduation weekend), we had to stay at the Econolodge for $300+ per night. It was outrageous and the hotel wasn't even full. Price gouging should be illegal especially when someone is traveling with a senior citizen. This place would have been "ok" at $75-100/night, but at this rate it was unacceptable.
- 3.5/5
Good
- 1/5
Place looks completely different from the pictures, almost as if they were taken 50 years ago when it was brand new. The room felt gross. Felt like we were being watched in our own room. The arm chairs were stained like crazy. The mirrors had water spots all over it. The curtains were very stained. Marks all over the wall. The shower liner was black. The “continental” breakfast was small and lame. Do not listen to the good reviews. They lie. Found a bunch of black hair all over the bathroom and floor, my wife and I are blonde
- 4/5
Very nice place for just a one night stay. Very motivated staff and clean rooms. Not much. The noise level of traffic is something to consider but it’s next to the road…

This was not the worst hotel in the world, I want to be clear about that but as someone who sets their search criteria to hotels rated 8 and up and this was definitely not an 8 and up hotel. The cleanliness was really bad, there was hair in the bed and it just felt ehh.. also they are rated high on their breakfast and literally had cereal and waffles.
- 3/5
The room was spacious, clean, and simple. It is a budget-friendly place.
- 2/5
Poor breakfast choices, room had drapery partly pulled down, lamp ready to fall over and not functioning, dirty chairs. Thus property needs a complete renovation
- 4/5
Convenient location and plenty of parking. The unit itself was pretty clean (found a couple of hairs in the sink). Water pressure in the shower was great. They should install larger TV's.
- 5/5
It was a great location, 10 mins from the central area. The stay kept the hotel very clean and it smelled really nice. The rooms were decent and good, but great for the price. The hotel is a bit older but still great! Wasn’t expecting must and it was a perfectly fine for what I paid! I thought it could potentially be sketchy or iffy, but not at all
- 4/5
Room was spacious, clean Breakfast area very small no table in room

It was a nice clean place with friendly staff. The pet rate was great. The breakfast was mediocre. Just waffle machine and cereal. Orange Juice was almost out. Had fresh bananas

Location. Plugs in the room in disarray.

Good location, very quiet

Because we have a small dog we are put in a dog room (which I get and pay extra) but this room we were put in was dirty! Not sure if it was human or dog hair everywhere. Even shower walls. Breakfast was a few items. Only thing hot if you make waffles. Nothing too healthy. Overall this place needs a GOOD cleaning. Desk clerk was nice. We stayed here because of the positive reviews on how clean it was. Maybe the non-dog rooms are better?! Dunno.
- 4/5
The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. I felt safe and grateful for the appliances so I could cook my meals. It was a little dated, and things were a bit worn but all functional.
- 4/5
Did not have breakfast. Room was clean, friendly staff. I could see my car from the room, always a bonus.
- 2/5
That part of town didn’t feel safe. Maybe homeless met on benches in the parking lot? Staff was friendly. Room was adequate.
- 5/5
This hotel had the most comfortable bed, bedding and pillows I have ever experienced in an hotel.
- 3/5
Breakfast was very basic , cereal, waffles , and muffins . Nothing special
- 4/5
Lit confortable. On entend facilement la chambre voisine. Décor extérieur très sobre.
- 4/5
Easy access parking. Good lighting in the front of the property.
- 4/5
Good place for a much needed rest
- 4/5
Easy in and out from the freeway. Great staff!
- 2/5
The room was clean and comfortable the first night, except for metal noise from the bedframe every time we turned over. The next morning the toilet backed up, and we were told they were having other plumbing issues, too. By late afternoon, they offered us the room across the hall, and we could use both rooms so we didn't have to move everything. It was a pain. When we left this morning, nothing had been done about the overflowed toilet (24 total hours - glad I didn't have to clean that room!) The breakfast had no hot coffee both mornings, like it was left over from the night before and had no cream and sugar for the room coffee maker. The breakfast selection was extremely limited. I wouldn't recommend this property. I also won't be using expedia again due to difficult refund policy that we had paid extra for because our travel plans were too fluid. We ended up giving up the multi-step confusing process of canceling, going through 3 different parties to get it done. I should have just been able to call the hotel. I do hope a copy of this goes to the management of Econolodge. Thanks, Richard Jones
- 5/5
Rooms were very clean, staff was kind and friendly. They have complementary to go coffee/tea and the parking is free which a lot of hotels in the area do not offer. I’ve stayed at few hotels on Horizon and I would definitely stay here again.
- 2/5
Room was dirty and had an odor. Bed was very uncomfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Very clean and quiet
- 5/5
Easy check in, quiet, clean room.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Clean, functional room, right next to the highway. Friendly staff and reasonable pet fee.
- 4/5
Good people
- 5/5
Good place
- 5/5
It was good very nice
- 5/5
Price was right and fit expectations for what I paid breakfast simple and pet fee was cheap
- 4/5
Staff was very good.
- 4/5
Staff was excellent!
- 4/5
Hotel was easy to find and worked quite well for a good night sleep after driving 13 hours.
- 4/5
Quite a light continental breakfast, staff friendly and clean rooms! Needs lan update -:)
- 3/5
Roach hotel killed four roaches one just out of the shower and stepped on it barefoot. Front desk could care less. Didn’t expect any frills for the price but I did expect roach free.
- 3/5
The room was not clean. The top drawer had something spilled in it. The frig had left over food. The pillows were flat . The air made a loud rattling noise all night. I have stayed before even at the end of Covid, never this bad.
- 5/5
Front desk was very nice and easy check in
- 3/5
Room, was decent, clean. Bed comfortable. Electrical outlet by sink did not work. Had to plug my flat iron into electrical on bedside table, along with the iron. Ironing board was difficult to keep up to iron. Bathroom is dated, but clean. It was very frustrating to try and get ready when the outlet didn't work next to the sink. The GFI was broke.
- 3/5
Everything was acceptable except the internet was terrible.
- 2/5
…
- 2/5
The staff was OK didn’t really have any contact with them. Made service was nonexistent. The bathroom floor was less than clean somebody else’s hair all over the floor. The air conditioner was extremely noisy with the fan rattling most of the time the air conditioner basically just put moisture into the air. The breakfast was not a breakfast unless you wanna call toast and a yogurt cup breakfast they need to specify that it’s a continental breakfast at best. One of the reviews said that the mattress was comfortable. That could not be more wrong. If there was such a thing as a dollar store mattress, I think this would qualify.
- 3/5
Just OK. Staff were very helpful. Rooms have very dim lighting and furniture was old and stained. Bathroom had good lighting and was clean with grab bars present. Breakfast was very limited and on the poor side. Parking was fine. Just an old property that needs updating. Probably ok for the price but I would definitely upgrade to a different property next time.
- 5/5
The hotel and price is convenient. The location is confusing and unsafe for motorists not familiar with the area. There's 2 roundabouts; 1 on each side of the interstate. You have to stay in the left lane; then switch back right to get to the entrance to the hotel. All while trying to avoid vehicles entering the highway. The transportation department should redesign this section, before there's a serious wreck.
- 5/5
This is a decent, older hotel. The beds were clean and comfy. The staff we so kind and helpful. There is not an elevator but we able to accommodate my elderly mother with a room on the ground floor. I would recommend.
- 5/5
The property and location is fine. However, the double roundabout at the Interstate intersection is very dangerous, and confusing. You need to stay in the left lane to get to the hotel entrance; then swing to the right lane to avoid the Interstate entrance. All while trying to avoid vehicles entering the highway. The city and/or county transportation department needs to redo the intersection.
- 1/5
What a dump. Can't figure out how it got such high ratings. Bed squeaked. Air conditioner ran constantly. All channels on TV went out twice. WiFi was not working half time. Advertised as having breakfast, better breakfast at McDonald's. Don't waste your money 0r time
- 4/5
i was charged a pet fee for my dog
- 4/5
Right off the Interstate, but not noisy. Most of the time, I just spend a night at a hotel, and I enjoy the ease of finding the hotel and getting on the road first thing in the morning.
- 5/5
All well taken care of. Nice landscaping.
- 4/5
Nice quick easy off and on the highway. Checked in just to sleep so we didn't spend much time other than to have a quick breakfast.
- 5/5
Property is updates. Staff were friendly. Room was larger than most hotel rooms and included a refrigerator and microwave. Lots of food choices nearby. Area was safe. Got a great night of sleep!
- 3/5
Next to the freeway, the on-ramp so when the cars go by, they’re giving gas to get on the freeway and makes a really really loud couldn’t sleep with nothing
- 4/5
Very clean. Close to I70 without being loud. Breakfast was very basic, though... all sugary things.
- 4/5
Easy access from interstate
- 3/5
Okay for the price. Reasonably clean. Hard to figure out the entrance when so much construction (not the motels fault) going on around it. I had to be to work by 5am so never got to partake in the breakfast. The one day I saw it, it seemed very good if you ate a lot of carbs.
- 3/5
Needs to be thoroughly cleaned. The upholstered furniture was not clean.. The bathroom needed updating, and the property was so so.
- 4/5
It was a nice clean place. My husband had surgery at St. Mary's hospital. And was released early. Credit for two nights was guven with no issues. Thank you
- 3/5
The bath towels had holes in them. The dining are was very small, and for the outrageous price, the breakfast was the worst of any hotel we have stayed in. We will not stay at grand junction econo lodge again, nor would i recommend it to anyone.
- 3/5
Two choices for breakfast ac barley worked
- 5/5
Hotel room is good and clean.
- 3/5
Had a pillow with a blood spot on it and room was dusty
- 1/5
I don’t know how this place has decent reviews. We’re on a cross country trip and this was by far, the worst place we stayed. There were bugs in the check in area that the guy at the front desk used a broom to push out the door. Also, the guy at the front desk was uninterested and down right rude. We would never stay here again. We couldn’t wait to leave in the morning!
- 3/5
Man who checked us in was very friendly but the staff in the morning was not. Few breakfast items offered. Overall it was a decent value for the $
- 4/5
Staff member on duty in lobby helped my elderly mom secure first floor accommodations. He was kind. Beds were excellent. I received a great night of sleep. My only caveat is that the continental breakfast offered only a waffle maker outside of the most basic fare. Sausage and bacon and eggs would have made the stay even better.
- 5/5
Very convenient. Right off interstate, but in our room we didn't hear interstate noise. Room was basic, but clean. Very convenient to good restaurants and fueling for vehicles. Staff was "incognito", but really didn't need their services that much. Overall a very good value for the money.
- 3/5
Hotels .com you’re not all that accurate I don’t think there’s anybody doing any kind of checking or reservation confirmation other words you guys don’t know what rooms are available and until somebody calls seven times I’ve stayed at Ellis Island through Hotels .com every single time you guys say they’re handicap rooms are not available When you know I’m paraplegic myself but yet you never check. You always say they don’t have handicapped available every single time you say they don’t have handicapped rooms but every time I check in they have it available. It’s just your website says it’s all we’re all sold out every handicap on your site is sold out. How do you explain that Hotels .com
- 3/5
It was fine. No complaints
- 5/5
In all the service was really good to be honest.
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay there, but I thought they could provide a better breakfast.
- 3/5
Front person was not friendly air conditioner filter had to be clean dust on head board of bed so that means pucture are too
- 3/5
The room had a bad smell. It was a pet friendly but I have stayed in pet friendly rooms & they did not smell like this. Take Farnese spray with you. I am a pet friendly room the next night somewhere else & there is not a bad smell
- 4/5
Clean and quiet. Good value for the price
- 3/5
Room smells like smoke.
- 5/5
We loved the stay, location helped with both gas and food!
- 4/5
Good location and pet friendly. Staff is great!
- 3/5
I traveled with a cat. The housekeeper was very pushy and insisted that they enter the room every day so I had to wake my child up and leave to allow them to work. I would stay elsewhere if you value late sleep and privacy.
- 5/5
It was a bit worn and the breakfast was nothing special but it was a better value than other hotels i have stayed at.
- 3/5
Clean and quiet.
- 5/5
The beds were so comfortable
- 4/5
Great
- 4/5
My only complaint was getting a room on the second floor with no elevator. At our age going up stairs with a heavy suitcase was a chore
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
Room was clean but continental breakfast was horrible!
- 4/5
Not much to look at outside but the room was nice and clean. Stayed two nights and felt it served us well. Breakfast is limited, but overall a good experience
- 4/5
Parking lot is confusing
- 2/5
No thanks
- 4/5
Clean and quiet.
- 1/5
Not good! In ill repair, old, creep, and I regretted the choice.
- 3/5
Clean rooms and nice staff. However, very loud in rooms, smell of smoke and hard beds.
- 5/5
Nice low cost hotel. Inside entrances to rooms. Outside doors lock at 10pm requiring room access card to enter building. Basic breakfast. My Phone WiFi security app said WiFi is not secure.
- 2/5
We will not be back.
- 5/5
Convenient. Staff very helpful.
- 3/5
The bed was uncomfortably hard to the point where I could not lie on my side. I tossed and turned all night, not helped by the fact that I could hear all the noises made by the people around us who had a small child making a racket until
- 3/5
It was horrible someone tampered with my vehicle in the parking lot over night and I was stranded out of town a day liner then I was supposed to be
- 2/5
The tile floors help noise travel down the hallway! I was across fro the ice machine which was a whole other noise problem. But the doors opening and slamming shut until 2 am was too much!
- 3/5
Easy access from interstate
- 5/5
Area was convenient for my needs
- 4/5
Fairly new building and rooms. Good location, close to highway and dining options.
- 5/5
I travel for a living as a commercial truck driver stayed in a lot of places and this was one of the good ones I've added to my personal list
- 3/5
It was very noisy.
- 4/5
Good location
- 4/5
Room was spacious. You could hear the springs in the bed but slept ok. Very limited choices for breakfast. Slices of white bread and jelly (no butter or peanut butter) and the make it yourself Belgian waffle. And maybe a banana?
- 3/5
It was okay. Old hotel with old towels and bed, but clean. Noisy and pet friendly but no place for them to go.
- 5/5
The only problems were there was no soap, and only 1 wash rag and 1 hand towel. The front desk gave us some soap, and an extra wash rag. But they gave us another bath towel, instead of a hand towel. We started staying here when passing thru town to and from home. It's right off the highway (although the double roundabouts make it confusing and unsafe for motorists), as well as reasonable rates.
- 5/5
The only problem with the room is the bathroom door jams after we close it. We have to push the door hard to get it to open.
- 5/5
Economical place for quick overnight.
- 5/5
Check in was super easy, the room was very clean and comfortable; we would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Very comfortable and clean. Friendly and professional staff.
- 1/5
Found broken paraphernalia glass under the phone by the bedside. Floor was dirty. Wall were beat up, end table was beat up. Very big dump!!!
- 5/5
Great room super clean
- 5/5
Was very friendly too ck in. I had reserved the wrong day and he quickly fixed it.
- 4/5
Breakfast options were scarce. And had to request tea both at check in and breakfast.
- 4/5
It is comfortable and safe.
- 3/5
So I have seen better.
- 4/5
Loud right by the interstate
- 5/5
Nice clean room. Very helpful check in clerk. Breakfast was on Tim which was helpful for getting on the road early.
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable.
- 2/5
Cleanliness was not on point, my bedsheets had a very fishy smell and there were body hair everywhere.
- 4/5
Quiet, clean, convenient. Very good price
- 4/5
Clean, quiet, Property is basic but well maintained. Better Than I expected for the price. Would definitely stay here again
- 5/5
An overnight stay on our way back home. Off the highway, reasonable, and easy access to and from the interstate.
- 5/5
Had unexpected car trouble and had to stop for the night. Hotel was dog friendly staff were very helpful and professional
- 5/5
I stayed here before; and it's right off the highway. However, the clerk at the desk looks like the same person that I had problems with at First Interstate Inn. I notified the owner and the health department about that motel. Not sure if he got fired, and is now working at this location.
- 5/5
Very clean great value
- 4/5
Great for a quick stop
- 5/5
Simple, basic, no frills
- 5/5
The people working there were friendly and helpful.
- 2/5
Found a raisin on the floor and also an earring.
- 5/5
Easily can take bus downtown
- 5/5
I read the reviews before booking and agree that the hotel lived up to the expectations I had. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again if we are ever in the area.
- 3/5
This hotel had a better than average rating in Hotels.com. I found the hotel to be above average for an economy or budget hotel. I found it hard to find using Google Maps. It is behind a gas station and next to the freeway. The freeway was noisy.
- 4/5
Clean, comfortable. Solid solid flooring was nice. Room and furniture were dated.
- 5/5
All good
- 1/5
Looked terrible
- 5/5
I like the room. I think the hardwood floors are great it really makes it look good.
- 4/5
Good value and clean and safe property.
- 4/5
Nice and clean. Looked as if it was recently redone. Mattresses were not good. !!
- 4/5
Convenient to the interstate. Friendly check-in desk reception and maids. Clean room and bathroom. But the room did smell musty.
