Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hawaiian Gardens by IHG

We spent one night at this establishment and found it to be remarkably peaceful given its location near a busy thoroughfare. The facility was clean, and the staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism and hospitality. Our room was clean and well-appointed, featuring a comfortable bed and pillows. The continental breakfast was surprisingly satisfying. The availability of a coffee and tea machine around the clock was a welcome convenience. The outdoor pool, although compact, met our children's needs.

The room is clean, and the staff is very patient. The breakfast is delicious! Our family loves it!

Rooms and Facilities were clean. Early check in was asked for and was asked to be called when ready and never got a call. Tv and remote has some strange problems. It worked part of the time. Housekeeping was friendly and nice. Over all we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Room was very clean. The only issues we had was the air conditioning was finicky. It was either super cold and super warm. When the AC was not on it took a moment for it to cool down, woke up sweating one night. Otherwise the complementary breakfast was a great benefit, perfect for feeding my little ones without going anywhere. We would stay here again.

Stayed for a basketball tournament, close proximity to facility and the beach. It is a clean property, friendly staff, and the breakfast was good, not gourmet by any means, but it hits the spot.

I can not recommend this property. They charge you to park. The shower has no water pressure, the towels are thin and scratchy. The walls are thin and you can hear everything outside. Not a good area so it’s recommended not to leave anything in your car.

Breakfast was good, well stocked and easy to find something for everyone. We booked a suite for 4 kids and 2 adults. It was supposed to be two queen beds and one pullout, which I paid extra for. We were first told we had no reservation, however we had a booking confirmation. We were then told booking.com never sent the information over to the hotel, booking.com said they did. The girl however said they had plenty of rooms and could accommodate us for the night and would figure it out Monday. They gave us a key card and to our surprise, only two beds. I went back down and the hotel informed me they had no suites, just rooms. They offered a crib for a 7 year old, by now it's midnight and we were screwed.

Netflix wouldn’t work in our room. Lol, that is important to my partner. Otherwise it was a good stay. Breakfast was good, and free.

We love this place and it’s our recent go to stay to visit the grandbabies close by. Always clean, nicely designed and comfortable beds. The complimentary breakfast is very good.

Grant upgrade requests for a fee if needed. If hotel cannot due to availability, offer extra blankets or a cot if available. Be accommodating, sometimes things change in people’s plans and even if they booked through a third party, they still expect some type of accommodation for a fee. I’m a former IHG employee.

Our room was good. We could hear the person in the room next to us talking (he was loud) and later in the night we could hear him snoring. Maybe if hotel isn’t full they should space guests out more?

Hoky cow, this palce was nice! It my not be a 5-star resort, but as far as hotels come, this feels classy. Breakfast was well done, with great selection. Room was huge, with a classy bathroom. Kind of cheap on the toilet paper. A bit of a walk to a good convenience store, and you'll have to drive to restaurants. It is Long Beach, so don't expect upper-class surroundings. GO FOWN THE STREET TO PAUL'S! THAT PLACE IS GREAT! I've been to many hotels this year on business, and this palce is up there with the best of them.

The room was very clean although I did not require housekeeping services the staff was friendly and did ask if I needed anything. During my visit I could hear snoring and returning guests all evening it made my stay unpleasant.

Breakfast starts later than any other hotel Hotel is pretty clean and looks nice It’s still a Holiday Inn not a plush luxury hotel.

Rooms were spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. Pillows not my favorite. Loved having the kitchenette. Shower reached scolding hot. (My favorite.) Parking garage was easily accessible. My only complaint - to access the parking garage, you have to use your key card. If you are on the side entering from Holiday Inn, there is enough clearance for a vehicle of 6'8". If you happen to drive straight through and exit the opposite gate going into the parking lot for the next hotel, you will not clear 6'8", even though it says 6'8". When the gate went up it didn't reach high enough and scraped the top of my suburban. When I brought it up to the lady at the front desk, she didn't seem concerned about it, but said she would let maintenance know. Luckily you can't see the scratch on the top of my car, but I would consider this a huge concern for other vehicles. Also, there was someone smoking marijuana in the room below us. After management found the room, they kicked out that person, but it made our room and the room next to us smell absolutely horrible. Breakfast was great. Consistent with the other properties we've stayed at. Laundry room only has 1 washer and 1 dryer, which made it a huge inconvenience when having to wash 16 men's basketball jerseys and shorts. Took forever. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again.

This was a small nice property. The pool is small and in the back so not a lot of sun but good enough for the kids to splash around some. Breakfast was decent, options were the same everyday. Overall good deal for nice property

The stay was excellent. It was clean the bed was comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. That breakfast is to be desired undone sausage and powdered eggs was instant bubble guts.

Amazing stay! Very new facility, very clean. I feel very safe by a solo traveler. Very friendly staff. Safe and walkable neighborhood. Not only wish the shower water could get a little hotter, but no other complaints. I will certainly be back.

Very clean, comfortable, spacious, family neighborhood (house next door!), friendly staff go above board to help, many smart, thoughtful ideas built into rooms, accessible room is really good, good filling hot and cold breakfast choices. Pool is small, ?no hot tub?, parking isn't free but is well lit - otherwise a perfect place to stay near Seal Beach. Great value for the price.

Modern and spacious Rolf upon check-in we needed to pay $80 deposit for room. However on check out we were told we would have to wait “several” days for the deposit to be returned. 3 months later still waiting

This hotel has very soft beds, nice showers, and a free breakfast. We were able to go to bed at night and be comfortable and wake up in the morning ready to go without any back aches or worries about cleanliness. The shower was very nice and I recommend this spot. When we come back to long beach this spot will stay in our minds.

This is a basic style Holiday Inn Express.

I'm not sure why this hotel got such good ratings. It was just mediocre. It was clean but rather basic and boring otherwise. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner and the water pressure was low and temperature was cold. The little "market" could have been stocked better with some fresher options. It was just frozen pizzas and ice cream.

We had a comfortable stay with this hotel. Our room was clean and newly furnished. We enjoyed the pool and even ordered Doordash to the hotel lobby twice without any problems. Not too far away from stores and dining which was a plus (5 minute Lyft ride for groceries)...only small hiccup with our stay was that it was a reservation for 5 and there was two queens (which we expected) + a pull out loveseat that was not equipped with bedding or pillows which we had to request. We were given a few extra sheets and but never received the pillows that the front desk staff said they would bring up to our room. Needless to say, we just shared what we had. Also, pullout bed was quite uncomfortable. Other than that we enjoyed our time there, the pool, the breakfast and even caught the tail end of a fireworks show we think we're happening in Disneyland. Overall we would recommend this hotel to others.

My family and I were greeted the moment we entered the motel. Staff was very friendly and courteous. We were also impressed by the cleanliness, decor, and spaciousness of our room.

Everything was pretty good. Breakfast was good. They didnt have any water, soda, or juice available for sale in their food area. Only energy drinks or starbucks iced coffee so i had to walk to a local restaurant and buy bottled water. We asked the front for recommendations on where to get food and 1 worker was really nice and helpful and the other just sat on the couch and was on her phone. She finally got up when someone came in to check in.

We stayed one night at this hotel before a cruise, and I really liked it. The hotel was clean and in very good condition.

Nice clean rooms w fresh linens. High ceilings a definite plus. There’s also plenty of street parking so really no need to pay that extra $15 daily parking lot fee.

Our first day we got locked out of our room for almost an hour. The lock on our door went out we lost reservations we had for our daughter’s birthday because they couldn’t get it open with our belongings in our room. We were waiting in a hall way with our breakfast sitting on the floor. They offered us no accommodations as this was happening and after wards the hotel manager was no were to be found to speak to! They had to call another lady to come in to open our door in pjs and no kind words to say! I was offered the managers business card but was never able to get ahold of him! Very unprofessional of him and his front desk to give my family and I the runaround for the inconvenience!

Excellent 5 day stay while visiting Universal Studios. It is ab a 25 min drive from LAX airport. Not too far from malls and shopping. Super clean rooms and staff was friendly and nice. Free Breakfast buffet was also really good with a variety to choose from.

This location was unfortunately the only one that we have ever booked that did not have the sofa bed sleeper come standard with the room booking. I booked a reservation on here but noticed upon driving to the hotel the room only showed “standard” not “standard with sofa bed”.I called and the front desk clerk confirmed that that was an upgrade and needed to be made through here. Of course it was already beyond the date of being able to make any room changes. We had already been stranded for 3.5 hours with a broken rental car so needless to say we were all exhausted and the kids were very tired. Our children are 7 and 12 years so we definitely utilize that sofa sleeper when we travel. Upon check-in both of the employees were very unconcerned of what had happened and kept blaming this site, saying that they don’t recommend third-party bookings and that it’s usually more ideal to book through them directly. I asked if I could pay the upgrade difference for the room, as they had many and were not sold out, but she said that they would not allow it. After waiting to hear back from the manager, we were told once again they could not accommodate that and that one of my children would have to sleep on the floor. I needed to cancel here and book direct with them. I asked for extra blankets and she brought one saying that’s all they had. We had to get an air mattress.

No waffle maker instead a broken pancake machine. Coffee not good, oatmeal was hard… yeah, hard. Fruit and cereal are basically your options cause the sausage was dry and the eggs, well those were edible. If you want a clean room- yes. If you are paying extra for breakfast, don’t bother. We went and got our own coffee elsewhere.

A lady from the Hotel called me to try and receive my credit card information for me to pay even after I told her that I couldn’t make it due to weather and that I had called and canceled the day before with someone. She kept me on the phone for 15 minutes to try to see if I could remember who I talked to rather than just Except that I wasn’t gonna be there except my reasoning why and also since I’m an IHG member except my status. I felt very attacked and I will never book that hotel again.
