Reviews
The hotel is undergoing renovation and has a number of issues, including dirty rooms, broken fixtures, and poor customer service. Many guests have expressed dissatisfaction with their stay and would not return.
- Affordable price
- Good location
- Under renovation with construction materials everywhere
- Dirty and outdated rooms with broken fixtures

I enjoyed my stay they were very polite, and helpful. The room was very clean!!

Overall, not a great experience for a $100 a night room. The pictures and reviews online are deceiving. I was not pleased and will not be returning.

Everything is clean and new, I would like to have a more varied breakfast. Everything is clean and new, I would like to have a more varied breakfast.

Elevator didn’t work, beds were lumpy, pillows were lumpy, no body wash in shower even though there was a space for it, check out an hour earlier than advertised. And breakfast was lacking.
- 5/5
The room was very clean. Staff was always helpful. Parking was good as well. The only two things i didn’t like was a weird smell in the hallway and you have to wait until morning if you need new bedding or towels.

Got a tub with no safety handles. Clerk said for me to ask around for a chair I could use in the bath tub for my wife.. Will never stay here again.

Overall good experience, although we did encounter some rude people walking through the hallway around 3:00am and they were very loud and not concerned about others being asleep. The parking lot could use TLC ,the lighting is not great and the outside of the property could use some attention. The staff was very friendly and helpful and always available is needed. The breakfast was adequate but could use a little more verity.
- 1/5
Hotel was dirty. Smelled like
- 4/5
Housekeeping was very nice, professional and thorough. Unfortunately, due to food allergies I was unable to participate in any breakfast choices. Every time we left our room and returned our keys didn’t work and we had to go to the front desk to get new ones. At least half the days we were there there was no outside lighting at night.

Stayed for 4 days and 4 nights. Cleaning staff never came to clean our room. Our key card would stop working every evening we returned back to the room. Had to keep replacing the key. Also when checking out the front desk person was asleep. We had to call out to them several times to wake them up so we can check out. Probably will not be staying here again.
- 1/5
They don't have a washer and dryer. But rooms are clean and peaceful.
- 1/5
Clean and quiet but they are connected with Travelodge. Gross.
- 3/5
Parking isn’t convenient for only having one entrance and exit. The staff were very kind and we would probably stay again just for that. The man at the front desk ensured our card worked when he saw I kept it next to my phone because that can deactivate them. Housekeeping asked us each day if we needed anything, and we did a few times. We travel with small children and everybody was very kind to them here. Breakfast was okay. There was never fruit. We stayed for 4 days and were told the shipment was missed, but they never put fruit out. They had potatoes twice. Once they ran out at 9. Breakfast is over at 9:30 and they said they weren’t restocking so we didn’t get any. Sausage patties were the greasiest I have ever seen. I had to use paper towels to sop it up before I could eat it. I would definitely stay here again if it were a single night stay, but would have preferred more fruit and consistent breakfast quality for a longer stay.

Room smelled bad. And it did not appear to be all the way clean. I requested it be clean with sufficient time prior to booking.

They moved us to a new room and the TV, microwave and refrigerator didn't work due to lack of electricity.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Was a good hotel. Beds was a little uncomfortable. Breakfast was not the best but decent.
- 4/5
This is odd because I've never been asked for cash. When you've been traveling for 18 hours and get to a hotel and asked for something you don't have on you it's a frustrating experience. Elevator was a little sketchy. There's no marking outside really to see when you're arriving so be careful.
- 3/5
Need clean the room better, found dead roaches in the room.
- 3/5
The only issue is that you have to have a $50 cash deposit for some reason they don't take credit card security deposits
- 4/5
Very good
- 3/5
The stay was ok nothing spectacular
- 2/5
$100 cash deposit on a $45 room.(most places will take a card hold) If I had 145 to spend I would not be staying there. Go somewhere else. Sketchy area
- 5/5
Definitely I will tell my friends to stay here.
- 5/5
The lady that works in the kitchen is so sweet and friendly. She keeps everything so nice and clean. I really enjoyed staying here
- 5/5
Love it here
- 5/5
This hotel was amazing! Comfortable beds and very clean. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!
- 3/5
The staff was nice and the room was clean. During our stay the elevator broke, our ceiling began to leak, the ac shuts off completely in the middle of the night making it hot and we kept getting locked out of our room. It was okay based on these circumstances
- 1/5
The only positive thing that we can say for this place is that the woman at the front desk was nice. And it ends there. We were first assigned a room with black mold all over the bathroom ceiling and a tile in the room had fallen off the wall. We brought it up to the front desk and they assigned us another room. No surprise, more mold! They assigned us to a third room with no mold but also no shampoo?!? On our second day here, whichever staff came into our room did not close the door fully. We literally opened it without our key card. We were gone for the whole day so anyone could’ve came in at any point and stolen from our room. Not to mention, I wish we knew ahead of time that we had to do a deposit of $100 cash (no card allowed). Do not book here unless you’re on a very tight budget. It’s not worth the health complications that you may get.

The hotel itself was clean and staff was very nice. April was very kind. The only downside to this hotel is the hotel behind it which clearly has drug activity. There were drug addicts walking around yelling periodically so after some time sitting at the pool it would get very uncomfortable especially at night. The sign needs to be changed from Hampton Inn and replaced with the new name. I won’t stay here again due to the hotel activity behind it. Also there should be a clear note that there will be a $100 cash deposit and receipts for the deposit should be automatic without the customer asking.
- 1/5
On July 3rd I called the hotel to notify them of late flight arrival and they said they’d be cancelling the reservation because they close their books at 11pm. In the process of trying to explain my concern over not having a place to stay when we land in the middle of the night, she kept interrupting me. I was trying to find alternate solutions and wanted to ask if I could add my cousin who lives in town to the reservation and have her check in, but she wouldn’t let me complete my sentence. I asked her to let me speak and she just told me to look at their website and hung up on me. After contacting Expedia customer service for assistance, the rep contacted the hotel and spoke to the same person and was told the same thing about closing books at 11pm. The Expedia rep said she tried to ask for a refund and the hotel lady denied her request. There was nothing else anyone could do for us. Absolutely insane. I have stayed at countless hotels and I have never experienced such incredibly poor service and disrespect.

Friendly staff. Continental breakfast. Thanks!

It was ok. The elevator didn’t work
- 1/5
The swimming pool was phenomenal & check in was smooth. The parking lot behind the building had strangers out all night. Although there was police onsite, I knew it was because possible car damage/thief, and criminal activity. It was as if this hotel was misplaced. Upon entering my room, the dead bolt lock did not work nor wound the connecting room door push closed all the way. Worst nightmare came true. I reported & police responded immediately to my room. He quickly realized he couldn't lock the door either. He filmed the process. However, the solution for a female without an adequate door lock was to wait until morning to have the door fixed. I sat up all night in fear. I asked the next morning & maintenence came to repair. The carpet was soaked from the refrigerator & the room smelled molded. The thermostat was reading low battery & it would not allow for adjustments. Needless to say no sleep Friday night. During the day it was quiet. Not sure if there are cameras on the pool area, yet there needs to be for safety reasons. At check out, I asked for a printed receipt & informed the front desk I was going to put my bags in the car & return. My receipt was laid out on the counter & I'm grateful I grabbed it. The receptionist nervously came to ask if I actually picked it up. I informed him that I did. He knew he should not have done that. I booked through Expedia & knew they would not allow me to relocate.
- 1/5
I saw illegal activity in the parking lot. There were people hovering around all the stairways and different people going in and out of the same room. My uber warned me about the place. We went around the property once and I knew I needed to book somewhere else. The picture of the pool is also false advertising and didn’t even have water filled all the way up in it. Some of the doors to the rooms do not lock properly. I booked this place because of the photos and that it says it’s a “best western” it is not. It’s a Travelodge with a super sketchy atmosphere. Please beware!
- 5/5
The property is being remodeled and changed to a new name from the old name so some things were out of place but my day was very nice and the room was very clean. Breakfast was good also.
- 1/5
This place is busted. Was under renovations when I was there. Front door didn’t shut, no sign on the building, elevator didn’t work. When I walked into my room at midnight for the first time, there was two randos sleeping in the room that I PAID FOR AND HAD KEYS!!! I was pissed off and the front desk had ZERO employees on site, 3 security guards who could only give me a spare single room for us 4 people. I told them you better not let nobody else in here or I’ll John wick them mfs in my room. DO NOT COME HERE.
- 3/5
Nice little hotel, rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is not the best. The parking lot had suspicious activities, when I told the front desk they were not concerned. Made it through the night fine and the breakfast was not bad at all.
- 1/5
I was told once I made it, I had a hundred cash deposit. It should be advertised bigger or in a certain area to customers to know ahead of time. I still can’t get no solid response on what happening, or how I can get a refund.
- 2/5
The staff were friendly however upon my evening arrival the room I was given wasn’t cleaned and the tv was on. I was given another room which I appreciated but the floors were dirty, I killed a big roach and there was someone else’s hair on the towels.
- 3/5
The room was not properly cleaned there was hair grease or something all over the headboard and window, a dirty towel left hanging on the back of bathroom door and trash behind the door . Fridge did not cool properly. The elevator did not work nor did the washing machine. Halls were very dirty as well as parking lot. Pool furniture was in bad shape and had no umbrellas or shade . Every where went inside and outside smelled of marijuana . Prostitutes and others all around .
- 1/5
Elevators didn't work. Washer out of order. Lobby, hallways and breakfast area smelled like weed 24/7. Cans of febreeze available on lobby counter and lounge but didn't help. No shampoo in room or lobby or housekeeping room.
- 4/5
The hotel was very clean, the staff was extremely gracious & the breakfast was exceptionally good. I would defiantly stay here agsin & again.

I'll never stay at a Hampton property again!!!
- 1/5
There was no egg of any form for breakfast. Sad
- 2/5
When I first got there they tried to charge my card again even though I had already paid online. The hotel was under construction in the lobby area, eating area, and the 3rd floor. Our air conditioner kept turning itself completely off throughout the night, like the unit completely shut off/down. The elevator stopped working while we were trying to use it so we took the stairs. So someone at the front desk said he had to go reset the elevator completely to see if it would work. Overall a horrible experience.
- 3/5
This location was under construction on the third floor and some on the first floor. The room smelled like stalled and wet we also had lots of nets.
- 2/5
Bathtubs dangerously slippery, low quality and quantity food, coffee cold. Doing hall AC not working, phone recieved not working, tv offline,
- 2/5
I reserved 2 king bedrooms, and received a King, and 2 double beds. There are no fans in the bathrooms, so steam from the shower and stench from taking a dump fills your room. They didnt serve eggs at all on one of the days (but the breakfast is free, just not much of it) The parking is VERY limited (again, they were under renovation). The front desk feature on the room phone doesnt work, and there is no way to get new towels, washcloths, etc. after dark.
- 1/5
Window leaked was leaking and ceiling in the bathroom as leaking also. Changed rooms came back the next morning and the shower didn’t work.
- 1/5
I did not even stay at the hotel. I arrived on the 19th, went to the room and what I saw was disgusting. Torn bedsheets, tattered furniture, urine-smelly room. It was a total disaster. I left immediately and asked that my money be refunded. I am yet to receive the fund.
- 1/5
Booked a room online & once I arrive to check in, they inform me they actually have no rooms available & would be "refunding " me my funds back. After a few days, nothing was refunded so I followed up & they said since i "stayed" at the hotel they wouldn't refund me anything. LOL they denied me a room & won't return my momey back plus staff was so rude about the situation. Do not recommend
- 1/5
Arrived to the hotel after driving 5 hours only to be told that our reservation was cancelled due to being overbooked. Receptionist advised that a refund was being processed which was not. Horrible experience
- 1/5
I didn't even get the room is was not available
- 1/5
Got there to only find out our reservation was canceled with no notice.
- 1/5
The whole area seemed super shady, I tried to get a refund because I didn’t feel safe and that was refused. I never even checked Into my room because of how unsafe I felt.
- 1/5
Staff was horrible and hotel is old.
- 1/5
Couldn’t stay there it was so bad
- 2/5
Rooms don't have hangers. Room enterance ight not working
- 2/5
Dark rooms not enough lights. TV had no signal most of the time. Water fountain in lobby broken. No wipes in work out room.
- 3/5
This is an older hotel that is tired looking. New commodes are stacked near the elevator, along with a tarp that closed off a section/room. The room was clean and all features worked. The price reflects the property condition and is a good value.
- 1/5
The front desk person was not available. The room smelled bad. The shower had duct tape and staples in it!!! I did not stay one night. Actually, I checked out after 4 hrs. I’ve stayed at Hampton Inns in several states. First time at a Hampton in Texas. I will never stay in another Hampton Inn!!!
- 1/5
It was the worst Hampton Inn I had ever seen. I've stayed at better looking Motel 6 before. Door didn't shut completely felt very unsafe. My daughter wouldn't stay and she bought us a room at the Marriott courtyard so we only spent 20 minutes at Hampton.
- 1/5
No hot water. Once they finally fixed it, my daughter took a bath and when draining the bathtub, the water started coming out from under the bathtub.
- 1/5
No electric in 75% of the plugs and USB outlets. The AC controls were not working. There was only lighting from one lamp. The water was cold in the shower and the handle literally came off the bathroom door when we tried to open it from the inside. There are no grab bars in the shower. THIS PLACE WAS HORRIBLE! It appears that it is under renovation as there were about 2 dozens new toilets by the only “working elevator”. I saw that loosely because of the gears being loud, thankfully we did not get stuck. Y’all need to finish complete renovations before allowing guests to stay in your facility!
- 5/5
Very comfortable and affordable and variety of foods to eat for breakfast
- 1/5
This hotel needs an upgrade.
- 1/5
I should have done my homework. This place is under renovation. Supposedly my floor is done already, but not really. Lights in the hallway are flickering, tv didn’t work, WiFi was spotty, no hot water and the shower fixtures weren’t even installed completely. Also, hotels.com charged me $30 more than what google is showing. Last time I trust the rating on hotels.com without more research.
- 5/5
The night front desk lady....not so friendly...overall everything was nice!!
- 1/5
It said it was pet-friendly, but would not allow a cat.
- 3/5
Is under construction. Materials everywhere. But served my purpose. Safe, clean room.
- 2/5
Asked for wakeup and never got one. Tried to checkin at 2:30 and was very rudely told by black women, who was eating, at desk that we had wait until 3
- 1/5
The location and staff were good but the hotel was very run down. Everything looked old and dirty, water stains on the ceiling, my bathroom sink was completely clogged, the shower handle fell off when I turned it on and it took a while to get that back on and then I thought there was no the hot water but it was actually was in the middle and the left and right sides were cold water, the shower curtain bar was slanted downwards so the shoulder curtain wouldn’t stay open, and the AC controls didn’t work so the setting it was on couldn’t be changed.
- 2/5
Noisy from highway traffic. The window covering was broken and pretty crummy so unbable to open. The TV did not work. Attendant at front desk was kind and offered to move rooms but just didnt use. Understand there was some construction for updating. Just not a good feel for Hampton Inn.
- 2/5
staff not friendly
- 1/5
This hotel was nothing like the pictures it needs to indicate that it is under construction from the hallway being full of boxed toilets to the rooms condition just being horrible not worth the money we paid

- 5/5
Great and affordable place to stay for the night.
- 4/5
The building is undergoing some renovations. That was really not an issue however, we did not have hot water and the coffee in the room was awful. Coffee at breakfast was better but the breakfast sausage was horrible. Not perfect but nothing ever is. I say the cup is half full because it can get better.
- 1/5
The fan in the room was broken. I asked the front desk for a different room and I was told there were no rooms available and that they were all booked, which I knew was not true but she didn’t budge. I did not sleep well if at all, and sweat the entire night with zero ventilation in the Texas heat and humidity. The next morning the gentleman at the front desk was more helpful and got me into a different room so I could get ready before I left that morning (after confirming there were in fact 20 rooms available). Thankfully, the fan worked in the second room but the blinds were stapled to the wall and the phone and some outlets didn’t work. I asked if I could extend my check out to the evening before my flight out so I could at least return in the afternoon and take a nap, but was told they didn’t have the ability to give me a room. I then asked when the manager was coming in but no one knew. I left having paid full price and exhausted. Terrible experience.
- 3/5
Room needs repairs done, put real curtains in rooms, room smelled and make sure tv works before guest check in. If possibly I would’ve canceled my reservation or ask for refund.
- 1/5
Was scary guy in the hotel pool area at 12am. The hotel under construction, and the entrance door dilapidated.
- 2/5
This hotel is being remodeled and there is lots of construction. The lobby/breakfast area did not have working AC and there was construction materials everywhere. Only one slow moving elevator was available. Room had already been “remodeled” but things we’re missing on the walls, bathroom door would not close, huge hole in bathroom wall was covered by paper and tape, room door had gap large enough to see in the hallway and under the door! Lots of homeless people were around the parking lot and adjacent convenience store. Skip this hotel!!
- 5/5
Excelente Servicio y atención al cliente
- 2/5
The Hampton Inn Houston Northwest was hot, in ill repair and poorly appointed. The staff was friendly, but they could offer little help when some amenities were requested, like bottled water for guests. I wish I had researched the area better, because I felt very unsafe, smelled burning marijuana and cigarette smoke often, heard what sounded like gun shots nearby and the adjacent guests were loud in the wee hours of the morning. It was economical and I stayed gone all day, but it wasn't relaxing at all. Best for the construction folks working in the area it seems but not for me.
- 1/5
The checkin host service was good. Check out not so good. The furniture was old and worn out. Looked like there was water damage on the blinds. The place was outdated. I was in town for 2 days. Chose somewhere else to stay my second night.
- 1/5
Going through a renovation. Avoid until it’s complete.
- 1/5
Do NOT let anyone stay here. Homeless all over property. No AC its hell on earth
- 2/5
We could not change temp on AC so i finally put a pillow over the vent. The TV didn’t work at all. My son wanted to call the desk and the phone didn’t work. I finally figured out the AC which was controlled by a wall thermostat rather than in the unit itself. TV never worked. When we checked out they told us they would discount our stay. I hope they actually did.
- 2/5
Parts of the hotel was under construction and the lobby and breakfast areas were really hot. Car next door was doing donuts around the gas station. The room was at least cool, but had the 1980’s look. My son and I were super tired so luckily we slept ok.
- 2/5
Its location is convenient. The room was clean and cool. There was an ongoing construction. The entrance of the hotel had a smell. The doors were broken. Elevator was hot. The carpets were dingy. I certainly hope the construction extends throughout the hotel and not just the lobby. The picture on the website is misleading
- 1/5
Mostly broken, dirty falling apart
- 5/5
The customer service was great. The rooms where very clean and had everything that was needed. The only issue for me was that the pillows where way to soft and had bo support to them. Other then that it was a great experience and a lot of fun.
- 2/5
Prostitution all over this place. Front lobby has no AC running . Smells awful in front lobby
- 2/5
I’m not happy duck tape around the bathtub
- 3/5
Property was good but parking was unsafe. It's a small space and before i parked my gut said it's not safe and it turned out to be so. Car parked next to us was broken in. Beware of parking, if you had to use this facility ensure nothing is left inside the car. I suppose the car next to us was broken in as there was a bag left inside the car and was visible from outside. I was lucky that our new car wasn't broken into.
- 5/5
The property was still under construction but it was still nice. The only problem I had was that the tv kept turning off while was watching it. The breakfast was good and the check in was easy. The hotel was in a good location and right of the highway.
- 4/5
Property and rooms were clean but surprised me that little details like bathroom wallpaper was pealing and there didn't seem to be any bathroom vent for the humidity during a shower.
- 3/5
It is older facility but fixtures were rusted, ceiling over the bed had large water spots and the paint was peeling around them. The AC was extremely slow to cool it off in the room.
- 2/5
The staff were friendly enough when you could find them. One of the staff asked for a dollar when my son asked for a complimentary toothbrush and tooth paste. He could not tell if they were joking or really expecting a dollar for something clearly labelled as complimentary in the room. He claimed no cash and was given the items.
- 1/5
The property is being renovated and is in poor shape. We should have been told in advance.
- 3/5
We choose Hampton Inns for the quality. This one was rundown with cracks in the walls and doors that don’t close properly. The potatoes at breakfast, though, were the high point.
- 2/5
I got first level room it was so bad with ceiling all wet from water and paint was falling . I asked for other room and this one is better but no fridge no ice machine....
- 3/5
Under renovation and room did not have a blow dryer. Surprised that there was no fitness room as well. However, room was comfortable and clean.
