    Property was very nice, clean, beautiful. Nice restaurants and gas stations around easy to access. Staff was helpful. Pool was very nice in the weather. Room was perfect and clean. It had a lot of amenities and layout was very nice for the price. Would stay again if visiting Houston.

    We stayed for two nights and found it to be a great bargain for the price. Room 213 was spacious, bright, airy, and very modern. The entire property is in excellent condition, parking is free, and the location is fantastic—situated in a nice area close to great restaurants. The blackout shades worked perfectly, and the couch was excellent for lounging. However, there were a few details worth noting. The K-cup coffee maker in the kitchen didn't work, and we weren't able to get a replacement. The room has no phone, and you have to pick up a hairdryer from the front desk. Additionally, the iron and ironing board are stored under the bed, which might be difficult to reach for seniors. The bathroom and shower were large, though the washcloths had some stains, and no hand or body lotion was provided. As for comfort, the mattress and all four pillows were a bit too firm, and we could hear footsteps from the room above. The room felt a bit humid, though it was raining during our stay so that likely contributed to it. For $7 each, the breakfast was a great value, offering a solid spread (eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, waffles, bagels, and juice) with plenty of seating overlooking the pool. Overall, it was a fine stay for a couple of nights.

    Our room had low water pressure and limited hot water. Not very friendly staff. Had to ask for clean towels after three days. WiFi was down a lot. Breakfast was good, but not complimentary. Would not recommend staying here.

    However the bed was not comfortable and it made squeaky sounds as it had a wooden frame wich was falling apart; making it hard to sleep; On top of that I forgot my phone charger and when I went there next day to see if I could get it back the person at the lobby was very rude and told me that if I wanted any solution to my problem that I should go to the police for that; Definitely not the answer I was hoping for, Since I got there on check in it seemed as if they weren't as helpful do to the third party reservation I did through Expedia

    This isnt a great part of town. Our room was fine. Staff were fine. Other guests were rough. We stayed 6 nights. There was a fight in lobby, neighbors fought, walls are paper thin, for two hrs from 1am-3am neighbor man was pounding on door amd screaming and his GF wouldnt let him in. I feel like this hotel is short term housing for kids in CPS system or for Section 8/government assistance recipients. I did not feel safe here. It’s a former Homewood Suites, and the rooms were fine. Except one person in our group left immediately after check in due to mold in their room on 3rd floor. Our room was clean. They only offer maid service every 3-4 days, but fresh towels are available at front desk. Hotel itself is fine, but there were many sketchy guests throughout our 6 days stay, and just not in the best part of town. We had to stay due to prepaying and the business we had at hand next door. The breakfast was better than expected. Starts a bit later than other hotels. This is basically at 1960 & 290. Not any better options in this immediate vicinity. Hotel itself is fine and functional. Bed was comfy. Pull out bed fine for kids but not adults. Smelled like weed a lot by pool, in lobby, elevator. Largely a guest issue. Wouldn't recommend this hotel for women traveling alone or women alone with kids. Kitchen was functional including full fridge, stove and microwave- and there is a Target down the road.

    The night staff seemed a little incompetent, day staff was great and got the things we needed. We had issues with our tvs not working on night one in both rooms. There was no hot water in one room no matter the time of day so we had to go to our room across the hall to shower daily. There were ants in one of our rooms when we arrived. I really like this place but im disappointed.

    Check-in was challenging as the there was a difficult guest for front single staff however the single staff was low on energy to begin with. Rooms are very good looking and clean , bed is not comfortable and creeks as the mattress is sitting on a frame not a solid bed frame, no phones in the room to connect to front desk, use your cell phones, WiFi speed is acceptable , TV’s in the room don’t have any channel line up and no blow dryers in the room, modern rooms with primitive mind set. Breakfast quality 7/10

    The floors are all hardwood so we heard people walking hard above us until late the night before. The King bed was squeaky like it was old. I was not able to turn on the TV but didn't feel like going back down to the front desk (there were no phones in the room). When I got up the next morning to take a shower the water was very rusty and black stuff was coming out like dirt. I tried to at least take a wash up in the sink but the water just trinkled out, not a decent flow of water at all. Upon checking out the front desk was very apologetic but did not offer to compensate or make it better in any kind of way so I will not choose this hotel again.

    We arrived late on a Friday night and waited 20 mins at the front desk to get checked in without an apology. The room was clean except for hairs all over the floor. The shower and sink water never got hot and the elevator was extremely wonky. Breakfast was run of the mill, nothing to write home about. I think the item that stood out the most was how unfriendly and sanitized the staff was. Not sure if it was a bad weekend or what, but we probably won't book here again.

    I had a great stay and was pleasantly surprised by the quality, especially for the price. The room was clean, nicely renovated, and had great technology, including a digital “Do Not Disturb” button inside the room. The shower was hot, the fridge was clean, and the gentleman who checked me in after my long drive was amazing. It definitely gives “upscale basic” in the best way—high-end touches while still being budget-friendly. 5 stars!

    This hotel is way better than what I anticipated. Me and my Gf love it, staff was really nice and extremely helpful. Breakfast was on point and sooo good. Everything was clean, nice, and organized. Only thing I will say is the pool and the hot tub was pretty dirty, filled with leaves and bugs. Other than that, we loved our stay, highly recommended. Definitely will be come back some time in the future.

    Very disappointed with my experience at this hotel. The front desk staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. I was not allowed to check in without a clear explanation, and the way I was treated felt disrespectful and discriminatory. Hospitality should mean treating guests with basic courtesy, and unfortunately that was not my experience here. Would not recommend based on this interaction.

    On my way to the hotel, I called the property three times. Each time someone answered the phone only to immediately hang up. When I arrived and mentioned it to the front desk employee, her response was simply, “I’m the only one here and I don’t do that.” There is also an unpleasant odor throughout the hallways and inside the rooms. I had to request fresh sheets and blankets for the main bed because the originals clearly had not been changed. The bed was neatly made, but there was a strong body odor smell coming from the bedding, and when I pulled the sheets back I noticed stains that appeared to be used stains. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos before i replaced the bedding. In addition, neither television — the one in the bedroom nor the one in the living room area — worked during my entire stay. The elevators were also constantly out of order, making it extremely inconvenient. The hallways frequently had trash left around, and the pool/jacuzzi area was chaotic. The pool was filled with unsupervised children ranging from very young kids to teenagers who continuously moved between the pool and jacuzzi with little to no supervision, making it difficult for other guests to relax or enjoy the amenities. Overall, the cleanliness, maintenance issues, and lack of professionalism made this stay very disappointing.

    Probably the fanciest hotel I’ve stayed at in quite some time. And I had a couple discounts available through booking.com, so I got it for a steal! The room was huge, the attached kitchen with the kitchen table and chairs was great. Husband and I had a nice little home cooked dinner. The shampoo/conditioners were lovely, decent sized travel bottles! The TV was able to be pulled out and swivel. Breakfast buffet was amazing, so many options. Hot options, good options for vegetarians! I ate so much that it kept me full till dinner. Front desk was very friendly and accomodating. Honestly, I had no issues. The only thing is that my sleep was fragmented bc I’m used to a much firmer bed (and their beds are much softer), so my body didn’t love that lol. I woke up so achey. But that is just a personal preference which did ultimately affect my sleep. That wouldn’t be a con for everyone. And I know there’s nothing the hotel can do about that, nor would I expect them to. But that wouldn’t stop me from booking again!

    We are a company who had multiple rooms for 14-days, one of the rooms was cleaned of all their belongings due to an internal hotel mixup. However, when asked about it, hotel guest services acted belligerent towards us. They took zero responsibility for their actions but rather double down on attitude. We will not be staying here again!

    The 2 bedroom suite was exactly what we were looking for. I wish more hotels offered the same set up. When we arrived in our room I wasn't impressed with the bed. Didn't look comfortable but that's typical at a hotel. I slept better then ever. The pillows were great the bedding was phenomenal. My picky husband and kids all loved the beds. It so spacious and comfortable I wish our stay was longer.

    The rooms were clean, but when we arrived, there was hair in the room that was clearly not mine. I noticed other people’s hair, and I was disgusted by it. The staff were okay, and the whole building was gorgeous, so I enjoyed that. The breakfast was delicious. Sadly, we didn’t have time to use the pool, but hopefully next time we can. Overall, I would give it an 8 out of 10.

    I love the small atmosphere; the rooms were perfect and I was pleasantly surprised. Cleanliness is very important to me as well as the amenities it had to offer. I will make this my go to hotel when I return to Houston. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with my two children. It was exactly what we needed; small, comfortable and convenient.     Everything! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ KOMPOSE Boutique Hotel in Houston is absolutely beautiful. The property feels like a renovated apartment complex transformed into a boutique hotel, with great amenities and a stylish, elevated design throughout. I loved the extra space, especially having a washer and dryer, which was such a convenient bonus. The kitchenette and small living room made the stay feel comfortable, practical, and more like a home than a standard hotel room. The hallways, lobby, and rooms are beautifully designed. Honestly, the overall look and feel were better than many Marriott or Hilton properties I’ve stayed at. By far, this is my top choice for where to stay in Houston. Highly recommend.

    The rooms were clean when we got there and smelled nice. They only clean every 3 days, though. The kitchen was cool, but it really needed some frying pans. They only had 3 pots. There were regular dishes, glasses, and silverware, but no big bowls. The elevator kept breaking down during our 6-day stay. Most of the staff didn't speak English, but they used their phones to help translate.

    Kitchenette had 2 lights out, no vent in bathrooms made for very slick damp floors. No alarm clocks (just fine), and no blow dryers (had to borrow at front desk). Chillers were new but fairly noisy (we wore ear plugs). If the keep this clean & maintained, we’d come back.

    Staff is super friendly and helpful. I wish they would have asked for some type of ID before issuing me my room card when I left it in the car. The breakfast option was enough and perfect. I wish they had a “Service request” card to put on the door. In the bathroom the wall has water damaged and possibly mold.

    They bought an old hotel, slapped some paint on it, put some fancy bling on & called it a "boutique" hotel. What an insult to a boutique hotel! I paid for a king apartment room but at check-in he said my room was on the 3rd floor but the elevators were broken. I asked for the same type room on the first floor, he gave me the key cards but never told me he put me in a smaller studio room, which was cheaper but didn't refund me the difference! I get into the room and it's humid. The air is on and blowing ice cold air but after 15 minutes I'm sweating but cold. The bed was uncomfortable, the couch was even more uncomfortable, the "dining" chairs were cheap plastic chairs & the bathroom was gross. Rusty toilet paper holder, NO HOT WATER, the shower curtain sticks to you the whole time you're in their "make shift" shower! Should I talk about the rubber band holding down the utensil basket in the dishwasher or move on to waking up to a bug staring at me? The bug - on my way to getting something to clean the bug up, I was greeted by the weirdest looking spider! I've been up for minutes & I'm battling bugs! I called down to for new towels, apparently cleaning rooms here isn't a thing! I was told to bring my dirty towels to the front desk & whatever I turn in I can get replaced. I thought this was a hotel not a motel! Compost Inn or whatever it is that you call this motel, you got my money once but you better believe you won't get it again! The prices are cheap & now I know why!

    That being said, my experience at Kompose Residences Houston Cy-Fair was disappointing overall. The property is aesthetically pleasing and definitely looks great for social media, but beyond that, the hotel lacked functionality and convenience. The elevators were either completely broken or working intermittently during my stay. Watching elderly guests walk around trying to find a working elevator was honestly heartbreaking. I personally had to carry all of my luggage up flights of stairs. The hotel policies also added to the frustration. I requested fresh towels and was told I had to bring my dirty towels downstairs first. I have never experienced that at any hotel. The ice machines didn’t work, and even pool towels had to be requested from the front desk. While the rooms are decent and the common areas look beautiful, this hotel simply did not provide the level of comfort or service I expected. Had there been flexibility with the strict no-refund policy, I would have checked out early and stayed elsewhere. Overall: beautiful appearance, disappointing experience.

    Everything was above expectations. Even the free breakfast was above expectations. Friendly staff, property was spotless and the physical property was like new. No damage to the walls or stains on the carpet. Shower could have been stronger but definitely sufficient. Toiletries were quality. Free parking. Would definitely recommend the property.

    This was a cute hotel stay. It’s about 30-35 mins from downtown so prepared to be on the freeway a lot but I didn’t mind the drive. The rooms aren’t cleaned automatically apparently so make sure you double ask because I did ask but it still did get cleaned. Breakfasst is simple but always a plus.

    Breakfast was amazing! The lobby restroom was amazing. It has sanitary items in the women’s restroom but I definitely could’ve used a changing table for my baby. Our room was clean, tidy and HUGE in my opinion. I had forgotten our small pot at home that I needed to warm up my breast milk and thankfully they had plates, bowls, utensils, pots and pans in the room. My kids enjoyed the stay as well. We didn’t get to get in the pool because it rained all weekend but we will when we book again next time. Wish we had Kompose Hotels in Oklahoma. 100% recommend! Please don’t change!

    The hotel was beautiful but the room had small ants behind bed. I asked to be moved to a different room she moved me to the 2nd floor after requested for 3rd floor. I moved to the 2nd floor and it sounded like a stampede was above my head and ut was for hours. I would definitely go back but 3rd floor only. Breakfast was great amongst other hotels.

    Breakfast was decent, but start time (7:30am) is later than most hotels and an inconvenience. The elevators weren't working and our room was on the 3rd floor. Hallways smelled like fish. The water in the bathtub initially came out red (rusty) in color. Definitely not a place I would stay at again.

    Very nice hotel located close to the highway and retailers. All you need is here breakfast is included there could be more options for someone that is vegan/plant-based.     My stay at the Kompost was unfortunately a bit mixed. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to find a roach in the room, and there were some unusual droppings in one of the drawers, which raised concerns about cleanliness. That said, there were definitely some positives—the breakfast was great, the bedding was comfortable, and I slept very well. The staff was also friendly and attentive, making sure my needs were taken care of throughout my stay.

    The bed made noise with every single simple movement, you can tell the mattress was old, also the knob on the shower fell while I was adjusting the water temperature, they need to add a full body mirror in the rooms, and even the ac was at 64 the room temperature was 72 don’t think the ac was working properly.     The hotel is "new" so looks really nice. The rooms all come with a king bed and 1 or 2 pull out beds. The pull out beds are horrible. The main bed was definitely one of the most uncomfortable ones I've slept in and we travel a lot. We were there 4 nights and room service never came once. I had to call and ask for everything to be replaced which sometimes came right away and sometimes took hours. The hot tub was out the entire stay. The remotes didn't work. The breakfast was only good the day we left because they actually had everything because no one was there. The air conditioning worked great but was EXTREMELY loud. It was a great price compared to others around with the room we needed, free breakfast which was for a limited time I think, and it had a full size fridge and dishwasher if needed so that was nice.

    I arrived early for check-in, 3 PM. The room that I received was long walk from the lobby, which is where breakfast is served. The room had no seats in front of the television, so it had be viewed at an angle. The television settings were scrambled, so I needed maintenance assistance to use it. And the worst thing of all is, you get hit with $150 hold on your credit card for incidentals, although there are no incidentals in the room to purchase. When I ask about it, I was told it covers theft. However, the breakfast was excellent.

    The room looked nice. But the dishwasher didn't work and it was obvious. The AC unit in the frong room fell apart at 3 a.m. sounding like a car hit the building. And the TV kept shutting down while we were watching it. The water pressure was a 3 out of 10. I'm betting that the issues i mentioned will be resolved.

    I love the look, style & amenities so I planned on making this my regular hotel for stay when visiting Houston, however this is my second visit which similar to the first, house keeping never came. My first visit was for 5 days in which I requested them halfway into my stay that time but since I was staying 3 days this time and had checked in late, I didn’t bother this second stay. The difference this time, I ran into 2 additional issues unlike the first. First, the tv remote was missing which I didn’t realize until I was settling in for the night. I called and was told that someone would have to come the next morning because it was too late. Around 11:30 am the next day I called and the person working front desk did not see it noted but would come take care of it which he did. The second issue was the day after checkout, I see a $20 charge. No call, email, nothing. I call them and the person working front desk who was also the same person that came with the new remote said that they couldn’t email me because I booked through expedia although I have given them my email previously and my number is on file. He claims it’s a $20 charge for a stain in a towel. I question the validity of it because how can I be sure it’s from me & even if it was, failing to clean the room for several days would allow for any stain to set in. He claimed that there’s pictures & asked for my email to send proof that ONE stained towel equals $20, however it has been 3 days now & nothing. 🤔

    Reggie at the front desk was a great help getting us checked in, I didn’t understand the paperless check in but he fixed us right up. The room was great, clean and lots of room, just like it looked in the pictures. Breakfast was good and there was plenty of it and nice variety. The pool and hot tub was not heated, to me that was the only downside. Overall great stay I would definitely stay again.

    The shower did not work properly. It took way too much to take a shower. I think it was stripped and was offline with the temperature indicator. For our first shower a technician had to come turn it on, he left the shower extremely dirty from standing in it and did not offer housecleaning. He said he would have someone come the next morning to fix it but no one came. Therefore, I had to call again. Which meant that he stood in the shower again and got the floor dirty with no housecleaning, again. The only thing front desk offered was another room but, when you have 4 suitcases to repack that’s an even more of an inconvenience. I just feel there should be some sort of compensation, partial refund, or a free night in a well equipped room. To not be able to shower when you want is the biggest inconvenience I can think of.

    Some positive notes to start regarding our stay. The room was perfect. Clean, comfy, spacious, and fun. The lobby and art throughout the hotel built a mood of positivity and fun. THE BAD: We chose this place entirely because it was advertised as having a hot tub/whirlpool. It was 40 degrees in Houston the morning of the day we arrived. We knew it was going to be cold and looked forward to an evening in the hot tub in the cold weather. The hot tub was not working (not restricted or closed off, just a super cold pool of water with plenty of leaves floating if you wanted to get in). We would have chosen somewhere with a working hot tub had we known, but we took the list of “amenities” as fact. If this is your deciding factor, I suggest calling to ask if it’s working. When we rushed back to put on our swimsuits and went down only to realize it was not working… it was frusturating. It was the one thing we looked forward to all evening after a cold day in what we expected to be (and is usually) a warm city. THE MINOR: None of these play a part in the 3/5 review. These are intended as notes for management or whoever it concerns. - No lotion. The hair and body wash amenities were great (and good quality IMO), but there isn’t lotion supplied and no lotion for sale in the lobby with the other amenities available for sale - Trash bins at breakfast and outside the elevators were overflowing. It’s a beautiful place boutique hotel but trash cleanup needs work

    Nice staff, great buffet breakfast, clean, big rooms. However, walls are thin and floor. You can hear stomping all night if you are on lower floor. Walls not soundproof so can grt noisy sometimes.

    The room was clean and the staff was very nice. There was no hot water in the shower; the water control knob in the shower turns continuously. The shower is small, about a little over two feet wide; so, the shower curtain is rubbing on you while you bathe. There were no sheets or blanket for the pull-out couch. The breakfast was disgusting. The milk was rotten and curdled. the eggs were watery and runny. The oatmeal was watery, with undercooked crunchy oats. I called the front desk several times in the evening on 1/23/2026 and no one answered the phone. Finally, after several hours someone answered the phone. I wanted to let someone know that I was driving to the hotel on a four-hour drive and I would be arriving after the check-in time.

    I stayed New Years Eve to protect my dog from having to listen to fireworks - very quiet and the room was so insulated that we did not hear any fireworks at all - love the whole room setup and decor - bed was amazing and we both slept well- location was perfect and nearby restaurants and shopping was conveniently close- breakfast was lovely too! Will definitely come back for another stay! Especially when fireworks are near!

    The hot tub was broken the whole time, the buffet didn’t have eggs one day. Overall the staff was excellent and the room was beautiful so it made up for the other things. The hotel is new and smells nice too! Good amenities

    The kitchen had everything I needed to cook. The staff was awesome and very helpful. The front desk gentleman I believe his name was Reggie, he helped transfer my room his help was above and beyond my expectations. The lady and gentleman help me carry my bags.     I haven't ever given a Hotel a 5 star. From check in/guest services to the very adorable lady that keep the breakfast bar well stocked. Our room was wonderful we didn't use the cleaning services but spoke to the lady that was responsible to clean our room she was also great.

    Room was clean and staff were very nice. I have no real reason for removing stars other than the vibe was really weird. The hallway has these tunnel lights that hurt my eyes and the walls had a bunch of AI art. The room itself isn't very cozy or comforting, just very grey. The best way I can describe it is if Temu went into the hotel business.

    kicked out and police called because my dog accidentally urinated on the sofa. I immediately took the cover off and took it to the wasteria. I asked the front desk to switch rooms because it needs a good cleaning which they agreed. I then get a knock on my new room from the manager being so aggressive stating I ruined the sofa. The sofa was not ruined. I didn’t put the cover back on it so it can air dry. I said the covers are made to be removed and washed. Mind you I paid $150 deposit and said okay keep it but it’s not ruined. Why allow pets in your hotel, accidents are going to happen. Why are you kicking me out that’s what the deposit is for. I advised him to make sure Im refunded my 3 days I have left. He said he would. 45 minutes later he came back saying I need to leave right now because he booked my room and it needed to cleaned. I said I’m gathering up my belongings so give me the time to get my things. He stood with his feet in the door saying he want the cleaners to clean while I’m packing I said that doesn’t make any sense, he said I have 15 minutes or he is calling the police. I said for what you see that I’m leaving. I said okay do what you need to do. He wouldn’t allow me to close my door. I don’t want my dog to get out. At the end of the day the cops came and started laughing and said you are going to get a refund. Don’t go there if you have pets. They kept my deposit but still trying to charge my card after giving me a paper receipt.

    Great ambiance when you enter and beey updated establishment. Cozy rooms with kitchens/microwaves which was a big plus, only thing was small shower with weird curtain I didn’t like, otherwise everything was great. Attentive housekeeping, and hotel includes breakfast and activities. Food is near and activities with free parking and it felt safe. I would book again!

    Im trying to rest since i have a ruptured eardrum and just got out of EMERGENCY ROOM. I had paid on Hotels.com $45 and was double charged for $46 and they havent removed it yet as i notified Nicole this morning. This is stressing me out and i have a webcam interview this afternoon and dont need any other distractions. Im not feeling well, and just had to file a dispute for the double charged amount and Thursday checking in with Martin and rhe African American man took over 30 minutes. Something they were doing went wrong and thats why i waited so long to check in. I will update this review once they correcr their overbilling error. I am trying to be patient but my ear is ringing and im in pain and paying for relaxation.

    Very nice property. Staff was kind, the place is really visually pleasing and the room/suite it spacious. Its all hard wood (laminate maybe) in the room so unfortunately you can hear the upstairs guest but otherwise it's peaceful.

    My mom and I loved it and will definitely return! The first 2 nights i got a good nights sleep and i booked 2 more nights for myself only in the smaller room on the same floor. Im deducting a star for housekeeping, because its obvious they didnt clean this bathroom since last person left hairs all in the shower floor, and i dont like how water accumulates in these flat showers with no tub, its a slipping hazard. I had to ask for extra floor mats for bathroom since it flooded after 1 shower, then i had to ask hwr for bleach and disinfected the shower and toilet and sink myself. I saw poop stains on wall, kinda gross but ill let it slide since they are so nice. Be aware there is a $150.00 deposit charged each night you extend your reservation, so far thats been 3 times so make sure your credit card has enough funds to not overcharge. Already planning my return trip to take a pic with my $100 robe! This place is a vibe! See you next weekend!

    The front Desk was attended by Nina, who seemed like she was in training, but was very sweet and accommodating. The manager named Adrien was very attentive and accommodating. He managed to resolve the issues that we had quickly and discreetly. It also helped that he is handsome and has a French accent. I was thoroughly impressed by the service that he and all of the staff provided to my son, myself and my friend. I believe the woman who was managing breakfast over the weekend name was Sharon or something like that, she was incredibly kind and made sure that our breakfast was enjoyable, she checked on us regularly to make sure we didn’t need anything. I’m incredibly blown away from this hotel and plan on returning here for all my future trips to Houston. Give this hotel a try you will not be disappointed!
