Loved the little extras. I brought my own instant coffee, but loved the coffee maker!! The room was clean, didn't need the AC, nor the portable closet. Didn't expect free tele, nor microwave and fridge. Appreciate the charging port, side tables, hair dryer lotions, tub, makeup remover!!!!! Really enjoyed the down to earth manager, Ralph. I've already shared business cards and told others to go stay there. Love the fifteen minutes walk to the surf!!!! Loved the surf, too! The people are nice...from the airport, taxi drivers and beach!!!!!! Loved, loved it all. God bless that island community. No souvenir shops, like trader Joe's at the airport. In and out was a drive away. But...maybe next port.

The person working the front desk was AMAZING!! Only a 5 min walk to the beach and lots of restaurants around. The room was very clean. The only negitive we found was the snack machine was basically empty and there is no stores right next to it

You’re booking for location. Rooms are clean, but entire building is outdated. No hot water, for showers. Shower head directly above head. Wouldn’t turn hot after sitting with it for 5 to 7 minutes straight. Multiple times. Front desk even checked and told me I had to wait. Eventually agreed with me and I simply checked my son and I out. He offered to shower in another room. They have one source for heating water. It didn’t work either.

Excellent customer service from the time of check in till check out. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Parking is either covered over not and easy to access. Looks newly renovated. Rooms are clean and air conditioning works but we never needed it. We used the fan and was able to open our window. Very quiet stay. Even with the window open we could not hear the traffic. The beach is a 10 minute walk which was very beautiful. Many restaurants walking distance. I highly recommend Taco Surf and Woodys Diner. Also cute little coffee shop called Neat Coffee that I highly recommend! All locally opened places! I will stay again and look forward to it.

- 4/5
This place was clean and nice. There were no amenities really but the rooms were comfortable and clean. It is a great place to sleep and travel to wherever you want to go. Beach is about a 15-minute walk. You have to drive to seal beach pier and shopping. For the price we paid to stay, the place was excellent. One perk is free parking!
- 4/5
Just had a quick stay and it was very comfortable and clean. We’d stay there again.

Good location and clean. The area feels safe and centrally located near the beach too
- 3/5
The blankets and overall furnishings felt outdated, and the property itself is in need of significant maintenance. Room had a funky smell. Additionally, the reception staff could benefit from more customer service training, and the amenities offered are very basic. One disappointing aspect was that the website photos did not accurately reflect the actual rooms. The images online appear to be heavily edited or not representative of the current condition of the property. Although the stay was not ideal overall, the surrounding area did seem safe, which was appreciated.
- 2.5/5
The rooms are updated in a beach theme. The parking is free. No elevator. Very old property. You could hear every conversation and shower our neighbors had.

I was pleasantly surprised by this property. All the amenities you need at a very reasonable price. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Parking is free but small space Free ice and small refrigerator Clean room and good maid service Room is okay Good AC Check in and check out super fast Cons: The coffee machine and free coffee looks super bad The soda / chips machine were not working at that time, so make sure u buy stuff in a 7 eleven prior to arrive

We loved the property’s location . There were many diners we ate at (Woody’s was FOR SURE our go to spot) . It’s maybe a block or so to sunset beach but nothing to crazy ! It was awesome just the get away we needed. Was an amazing weekend with my family . Rooms were clean! The inn itself is kind of a maze lol but very nice rooms and nice atmosphere. It was very quiet and the man at check in ( I apologize I did not get his name) WAS AMAZING. Always friendly !! Even moved his car when we were having trouble parking because our car is on the bigger side ! Would 1000 percent stay here again. Planning another trip in September! Only down side is the parking under the inn is verrry tight especially if you have a bigger car ! But there is parking directly in front of the inn I would recommend parking there just to save you the stress lol !

The room was super clean and attractively decorated. All of the appliances (TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc) were in proper working order, as well as the ice machine outside the office. The location is excellent, right across Pacific Coast Highway from the beach. There was plenty of access to restaurants and retail within walking distance. The price was so reasonable for the prime location. Mahendra, at the front desk, was friendly, helpful and capable. The only thing I would complain about is that the stairway was pretty grungy.
- 4/5
Nice stay
- 4/5
Covered parking, short walk to beach, Harbor House Cafe, Mother’s Market. It’s a no frills motel but clean and conveniently located.
- 5/5
This place is centrally located. Love the location. The exterior of the building needs some updating. But the interior was updated. Note to future travelers. No elevator.
- 1.5/5
Ohmygosh. Not welcoming at all! There is no office/reception. The entrance to the rooms is a closed concrete stair well that smells like pet urine. Its disgusting. The room appears clean, thank goodness, but the deodorizer/air freshener is so overwhelming I dont know if I'll be able to sleep here all night. Would NOT give it an 8! Its a 5 at best. Hard pass next time im in the area!!!

It’s quiet, clean, and pretty. I loved how it’s right across the street from the beach, basically. A soda machine is out of order, but everything else was fine. I’m grateful for their price and location. And yes; the ac worked.

Very clean and nice room.
- 4/5
Basic hotel. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean and nicely decorated.
- 5/5
Great place to stay for a few days
- 2/5
Very old needs lots of updates
- 4/5
Good size room, clean , bed was good. No elevator so you need to climb the stairs. Parking only enough for the amount of rooms . Pretty close to restaurants and shops next to the pier and beach
- 5/5
We did not need to use the A/C as it was very cool and breezy. We did keep the vent on at night and it kept the room fresh.
- 5/5
Great location!
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful and tended to our needs. Great place to stay that’s really close to the beach. Highly recommeded!
- 5/5
This hotel was a great value for the money. Location is walkable to the beach to restaurants and even a bar.
- 4/5
Clean good size room with fridge, coffee maker and microwave
- 5/5
Property was very clean! Staff was accommodating. Parking included which is a huge plus. Prime location, quick and easy walk to the beach and many restaurants. Main Street on Seal Beach is 2 miles away, I will definitely be returning soon!
- 5/5
Clean room. Owner was a bit rude.
- 4/5
Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Great location and close to the beach. Staff was very nice
- 5/5
The staff were nice and the room was large and clean. It’s close to restaurants and the beaches. I would stay here again when I’m in the area.
- 4/5
Room was a decent size and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was big, but the showerhead is mounted in the ceiling which results in water getting all over the floor which I’d have to use all the towels to dry up. The floors weren’t mopped so we had to wear flip flops or our feet would immediately be dirty, but that sort of makes sense in a beach town. The staff was super nice and friendly
- 3/5
The AC in our room smelled moldy had a bad odor and could not use it. The shower head was in the center of the ceiling and came out of a non patched hole and no water pressure at all it literally dripped out of the shower head.
- 3/5
Close to the ocean. safe area, soft beds. worked great for our needs
- 4/5
The room was very clean, bed was comfy, and check in was easy. The one big negative is they do not have elevators and all rooms are 2nd or 3rd floor.
- 4/5
The place is smaller than expected. No elevator, stairs only. Should have considered the fact it was on Pacific Coast Highway so it was pretty loud, especially with the motorcycles. There was no easy walkable access to the beach despite the face it was across from the ocean on the map because of the highway. The staff wasn’t very friendly maybe he wasn’t in a good mood, or just culturally different, he sounded quite rude. It was okay but Wouldn’t stay here again if we had a choice
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful when I booked in last minute overall I felt immediately at ease when I arrived. I’ll be recommending this spot to my friends. Thank you for your warmth, hospitality and kindness!
- 5/5
AC was great! Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Check in and out was easy.
- 3/5
Everything was fine except for the fact that the building is 3 stories high and does not have an elevator. I don’t have an issue with walking up a few flights of stairs. However, the stairwell was extremely narrow with small steps that made it very difficult to navigate; particularly around corners. I’m a slim guy; 6’, 0” at 155 pounds and even I struggled. With luggage in tow it was a daunting task. When checking out after a 2 night stay I was carrying just a duffle bag and missed the last step falling directly into the last corner before the exit door. I wasn’t injured but I wanted to put other’s on notice in the event they could possibly have any trouble.

- 4/5
It was quiet.
- 4/5
Clean room, walking distance to the beach and good food options nearby
- 5/5
Great spot. Would stay again
- 4/5
Spacious room, easy parking, good location
- 5/5
Cute basic hotel, close to everything. If you enjoy Italian food eat @ Romano cucina m, you won’t regret it!
- 5/5
Had a great time here. Everything was
- 1/5
The sheets and floor were filthy. I felt some grit in the sheets down by my feet when I got in bed, I reached down to brush it out and sliced my finger on a piece of broken glass that was in the sheets! When we told the man up front the next morning he said he was only the assistant manager and couldn’t do anything but I’d have to call the owner in a few weeks once the owner returns from India. It seemed like the bed had just been remade instead of clean sheets put on. We turned the heater up and slept in our clothes on top of the bedding, longest night ever.
- 3/5
All room on second floor no elevator
- 4/5
Great room
- 5/5
YES
- 3/5
You get what you pay for. The price was not expensive, and the room was okay. It could have been a lot cleaner. We didn’t have conditioner in the shower, the floorboards were dirty, and the shower head was plugged with hard water. The bed was so-so.
- 5/5
I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, and the check-in process was smooth. I will stay again.
- 5/5
Clean and staff was very friendly. Would stay again.
- 4/5
For an older hotel, I was pleasantly surprised how clean, updated, and spacious our room was. The water stayed hot for two showers with plenty of water pressure. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. I would stay anytime I'm in the sunset beach area.
- 4/5
Newly remodeled. Great room decor. View of the Bolsa Chica wetlands area from the hallway balcony for birders with binoculars. The street noise can be loud but all motels in this strip have this problem. Short walking distance to good restaurants. Three floors and no elevator so if you can't climb, let them know. We would stay again.
- 2/5
Room was neglected
- 5/5
Quaint hotel in a great location. Walking distance to restaurants and beach.
- 1/5
We were told our room was ready and it wasn't. There was no power for half the night, then tried to book another stay and they wanted almost triple the price i paid, but online sites were still cheaper but then you'd have to check out at 11am wait for check in again at 4pm and pay another deposit. The shower was awful. It just wasn't ideal.
- 5/5
great price and location.
- 5/5
It was a very nice hotel. The room was beautiful and the manager was very kind to my husband and I
- 5/5
Room was extremely clean and comfortable. Great views and accommodating staff.
- 4/5
Had to turn off AC due to smell.. Parking good, staff excellent
- 5/5
I really appreciated their flexibility in swapping dates for my stay.
- 4/5
We ended up not staying at this property, because they do not have any downstairs rooms and they don't have an elevator. The gentleman at the desk was kind enough to locate alternative lodging for us. The place is nowhere near the Seal Beach Pier - it's not even in Seal Beach. I think that descriptor should be removed from your advertising.
- 5/5
Great location, we have stayed there 3 times now. Just know that there no elevator and all rooms are upstairs.
- 3/5
It was ok and the bed i needed, but the walls are extremely thing and the people next to me were yelling most of the night and then again early in the morning. The room is clean, but the smell of cleaner was overwhelming when i got in. The TV didn't work either
- 5/5
The room was very clean, very comfortable, nicely updated and had a great shower with great pressure. The staff was very nice and waved every time we saw them! Housekeeping was perfect. The location was great, with both Huntington Beach and Long Beach just minutes down the road opposite directions. There were also some very good local restaurants right next to the hotel. We loved Woody's and Taco Surf!
- 2/5
Room barely OK
- 5/5
Clean room. Updated bathroom. Nice people. Good location just a few minutes walk to beach and restaurants.
- 5/5
Clean room. Updated bathroom. Nice people. Good location just a few minutes walk to beach and restaurants.
- 1/5
Staff was rude! The walls were so thin i could hear everything! I mean everything ! They leave the hotel doors open all night no matter the temp! Accuse you of stuff you didn’t even do! Then you say your gonna leave a bad review they start acting nice! I would not recommend staying here at all! They are scammers and just want your money !
- 4/5
Spaciousness. View was ok. Beds comfy.
- 3/5
It was alright for one night stay between flights from different LA area airports. One of the cheapest accommodations in the area and it was ok.
- 4/5
Older hotel with updated room. Simple style room. Much more like a motelHad room on level 2 near the rear. Not much traffic noise.
- 5/5
The room was clean, check in was easy. Location was great
- 5/5
Clean room, nice staff. Good location for us.
- 3/5
I was quite surprised by reading all the reviews on this hotel that were super great. I found it to not be as great as the reviewers mentioned. First, the ocean is across the street across the Pacific coast highway, which is a highway. Not easy to cross, and it is down the street away, not across the street from the hotel. The pier is 6 miles from the hotel. I had taken an Uber to the hotel with my granddaughter and found that it was not something we would be able to walk to as we had read in the reviews. There isn’t a lobby there’s a man that’s behind a glass window And was not very friendly. The room was clean very dated. There were two chairs to sit at that were part of the kitchen set the only place you could sit to watch television would be on the bed. There was plenty of room to put a couple chairs or a sofa of some kind in that room. Our room is number 220 right on the PCH. You could hear the traffic all night long. I will not stay at this hotel again and I hope this was helpful for anyone that is planning to stay there.
- 5/5
Best place in the area
- 5/5
Nice place
- 4/5
Very clean
- 4/5
Me and my friends travel on a budget and like this place bc of walkablilty to some bars and restaurants a coffee shop and a beach. Our room had nice queen beds with very nice quilts and a big window you can actually open and get the ocean breeze. The bathroom is nice but they have overheard showerheads which is inconvenient. Also the floor was really dirty and gave us Kmart feet. Cleanliness was otherwise good.
- 3/5
Temp was fine, shopping and dining was not walking distance
- 5/5
Despite the parking being limited, it’s super cute and pretty quiet inside the room for being right next to Pacific 1. I slept like a baby. I’d definitely return.
- 3/5
The location is good and it seemed clean, but the hotel is falling apart and the beds were uncomfortable.
- 2/5
The inn is right on the highway, so you really can’t walk anywhere-seems like it would be dangerous to try to walk to the beach/water. Parking was great-lots of available spots, didn’t have to worry about finding a place to park. THERE IS NO ELEVETOR. I didn’t mind much, but if you have trouble walking, or climbing stairs, don’t stay here. No working vending machines on site, they are all broken. It felt a little sketchy, but it was fine for the short stay I had here. Overall not terrible. Probably wouldn’t stay here again, but I’ve definitely stayed at worse hotels over the years. 2* is about right.
- 5/5
Convenience is a key factor for me !!
- 4/5
The Jacuzzi tub was not big enough for two people. That’s why we booked the room.
- 5/5
Great location walk to beach good restaurants free parking.
- 5/5
Nice big room, very comfortable bed, very beachy decor…the shower is amazing, very happy with our stay
- 5/5
Room was very clean. You can tell that owners take care of the property. I will 100% stay here again
- 3/5
Very nice staff and responsive. The facility needs a complete makeover: paint, maintenance, vending machines don’t work.
- 5/5
Love this property this the second time my husband i stayed here, easy fast check in, nice clean rooms, very cozy and scenic views from our room on the 3rd floor.
- 3/5
You can see in the photo it's just sticking out. It was located just as the entryway Hall transitioned into the bedroom area. You can kind of see in the photo. The bed was a little on the firm side but it was still soft enough for me to sleep as a side sleeper. The place was a little noisy at certain times. The shower nozzle coming out of the ceiling was a little weird. I had never seen that in a place before. It's not a deal-breaker but someone might like to know. It was nice close to the beach. There is no elevator and rooms are only on the second and third floor. So be prepared to climb stairs if you get the third floor. A lot of stairs
- 5/5
Convenient
- 5/5
Nice room good location
- 4/5
Inconvenient access to beach. Had to drive to beach because the residential area was blocking the access. Nothing can really be done about it. We just thought being so close to the beach it would be in walking distance.
- 4/5
It was clean. Fine for overnight. Simple. Blow dryer, fridge and very small freezer and small microwave. But there is no elevator!!! You have to climb up all the stairs with your luggage. No one to help you. Not for disabled.
- 4/5
Was a great stay definitely not handicap accessible lots of stairs
- 3/5
No elevator
- 3/5
No outdoor space or balcony on the property. Rooms are spacious with convenient appliances: microwave, coffee, hairdryer and refrigerator. Excellently cleaned interior. Property states no elevator. Not handicapped accessible.
- 5/5
Cute location, very clean and easy to check in... awesome liitle sushi spot just across the parking lot
- 5/5
Not disabled-friendly: no elevators and all rooms are on second and third floors with steep stairwells. Basic and not fancy - no pool, breakfast or other amenities. Right on PCH, so rooms on that side exposed to traffic noise. But a good value for the location and price. I am likely to return.
- 5/5
This place was cute. Great location and not too expensive
- 4/5
Pleasant place to stay and convenient walk to the beach. Room was clean and recently updated.
- 5/5
The customer service with excellent Mahendra greeted us when we got there and he was kind and welcoming. We will definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Great location!
- 4/5
Simple motel. Clean with nice staff
- 4/5
We loved staying here! It was small and quaint and close to ocean and restaurants.
- 5/5
Great stay! Clean and comfortable room. Walking distance to restaurants and the beach.
- 5/5
I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Good spot to stay.
- 4/5
This hotel is 2 stories and they do not have an elevator.
- 5/5
It was great stay
- 3/5
The room was just fine. Nothing spectacular. There isn’t a real ocean view anywhere but the breeze is nice. Beds we comfortable. The hotel is not close to any food so you will have to drive. Bring your own coffee. No elevator so you will climb steps. Everyone who works there is extremely kind and helpful.
- 5/5
This place is perfect for a weekend getaway. I wish there was more parking available when the motel is at full capacity, but still I would definitely come back. I appreciate the front desk's responsiveness and flexibility in allowing me to check-in late.
- 5/5
The water pressure for the shower was not great but it did have a nice temperature for all 4 of our family to have a nice warm shower. I would recommend for a short beach trip.
- 3/5
It was okay, location is good
- 3/5
Room is very Clean Bed was confortable Close to restaurants and grocery store Staff are friendly and helpful Cons: Room was noisy both from traffic on the PCH and upstairs guests stomping around in their room above. Not pedestrian friendly due to a lack of sidewalks in immediate vicinity of the hotel.
- 2/5
My trip was over the course of 3 days. The hotel is dated, and wasn't what I would consider to be clean. The lady at the front desk was nice. There aren't safety locks on the door, which I found concerning. There was just a basic lock on the door, which could have been unlocked with a key. The room had a moldy smell, which I did inform the front desk of.
- 5/5
Excellent staff and clean hotel in a great area
- 5/5
Nice quiet place to stay. My 2nd time staying there.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay & will definitely return! Room was clean and spacious!
- 4/5
Not very good service, the building was durty
- 5/5
Loved it! Had a short stay for work and it had everything I possibly needed.
- 5/5
The room was good and close to the beach access
- 4/5
It’s fine!
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our one night stay, before we head to anaheim for disney, this was nice an relaxing. Be sure to check out the pier and downtown seal beach, it is such a Gem... cute little coastal hotel. If you stay on coastlines than you know. Quaint, quiet, has everything you need like shampoo conditioner lotion. Located by many restaurants.. we tried Hennesy in downtown seal beach and OMG, tues is buy one burger get one and its delicious, its only a few mins from downtown seal beach! Its cost effective and the better of the cost effective places in the area thats very close to the beach...cute little beachy cotton quilt. Service was easy and great! She was very kind and made it stress free, but we are easy going people. So think that makes things go smoother. Nit picking is going to take the joy out of your life and people will not want to work with you... I see some of the comments and we did not have any issues with anything... Please be kind. Be grateful, we definitely will return when we are in the area. Fot deposit back in like half hour, she said she would release in 10 mins when we checked out, and she kept her word. So thank you, we needed the R and R! Be kind follow the rules and you wont have any issues. We stayed on a tues and we seen others check in but did not really hear anyone... AC and heater also worked great! Thanks again, Namaste
- 3/5
The price was fair. However, there were no elevators only stairs. I have limited mobility due to a muscular skeletal condition. Walking the flights of stairs caused me a tremendous amount of pain. Caused me to have a really bad flare up and now limited use of my left hip/leg. We booked there to be near the beach, the beach wasn't near. The rooms were old with colorful pictures and newer bright bedding to match the wall decor. The bathrooms were not great. While we tried to sleep, there was alot of noise. You could hear people talking, heavy walking back and forth in the rooms and or hall ways. The building felt like it was swaying. I wasn't happy with our stay. I will not be visiting this particular place again.
- 4/5
would be nice if there was an elevator.
- 4/5
Great within walking area by the beach. We had an early checkin but noticed certain issues with cleanliness that was left from prior stays. Other than that, everyone was great and friendly!
- 3/5
The reception area was very dirty and the front desk person needed a bath, a shampoo, and a change of clothes.
- 3/5
The only downside of this room was the fact that under the door was not sealed properly so I could hear a lot of outside noise from the PCH as well as other guests during the day. Most of the noise died down at night & I never had any trouble sleeping. Overall, it was a good stay & if I was in the area again for work I would consider staying again.
- 4/5
It was not convenient for a person with luggage. We had to drag the luggage up the small staircase outside of the hotel.
- 5/5
Great service
- 5/5
The rooms were nice and updated, nice beds and an easy walk to the beach. Will stay again for sure.
- 3/5
Bathroom door did not close. Ran out of toilet paper. Otherwise fine.
- 4/5
Good coffee shop in ealking distance. Great location if exploring long beach or huntington beach.
- 5/5
Surf City Inn was quiet and convenient. Very clean. Was more affordable than all of the other nearby hotels. I would recommend this hotel to others.
- 5/5
the property was kind of closed off for walking
- 5/5
The hotel room was clean, quiet, spacious, and soothingly decorated. Bathroom featured an overhead rain-style showerhead, and update feel. Beds were unusually comfortable. The hotel is not fancy, but I’d recommend for short or extended stay- good value.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and accomodating upon check-in. Room was large, updated and clean. Location was close to beach. Not much of a view, but great for the price and location. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
My family and I stayed there for a family event. Even though it doesn’t have all the amenities like other hotels. This hotel is a cute and quiet and is perfect for a getaway! Rooms are clean and cute. We have stayed here 3 times in the last 6 months and will stay again when we go back.

Very clean, rooms were renovated, coffeemaker, microwave, down the road in walking distance there is bar and otherside is a tacobar and close to the beach

Surf City Inn is a small motel located off Pacific Coast Highway. The area is safe and short drive to the beach, restaurants and the bar or. The room was super clean. The check-in was easy and they offered early check in and free parking. I was looking for economy as I was going for a short stay in the room but I would recommend this motel as you certainly get your money’s worth.

Foolishly I thought I could take my largest suitcase for my Superbowl trip to Long Beach. We stayed at the beach where Surf City Inn is located, but I think that's a little out of Long Beach. That was fine by me since back in the OG, I attended CSULB. Sunset Beach is calmer and my room was perfect except no stairs. I will come back, but I'll be curious to know how they work around that.

Clean, comfortable and nice staff

Last time we stayed here we would get one or two ants on our sink every night, I don't know if they came from the drains or from underneath the HUGE cracks under the door

We stayed at the Surf City Inn while in town for a gymnastics meet. Great employees and we enjoyed our stay. Beds were comfortable and rooms were plenty spacious for my son and I. The location was very convenient right off of PCH and close to everything. Great local restaurants close by too.

Will definitely stay here again

Easy check in. Good communication. Clean room

Second time staying and enjoyed it. The bed was comfortable and the room was up to date.
- 5/5
Everything was nice. Good room and set up. Parking was a breeze. Very clean place. Will stay again

The check in process was simple. The room was clean enough. Very noisy heater that you would not be able to sleep with it on.

Older property; clean; pleasant owner

Didn’t care for the shower. Shower head was overhead. Needs at least one more grab bar. Only one exit—in case of fire and door not accessible, it’s about a 20 foot drop to the concrete below. The staff personnel were very nice.

I had a great stay here. Clean room, nice staff, what's not to like.
- 1/5
No fitted sheet on bed, unpainted stucco on bathroom wall, poor lighting

Nice staff

Easy reservation process and room was ready and available before the check-in time.

2nd time we've stayed here. We love the area. It's quiet and so well kept. Very clean. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Very clean and had a room with a view of the back bay, very quiet and close to beach restaurants and shopping
- 2/5
Shower hot water was very slow to start and the shower was a bit leaky and loud

We had a wonderful stay at Surf City Inn. We booked a room to celebrate our one year anniversary & my birthday. The morning of our check-in, I received a text saying our room was ready so we can arrive at any time. It was a beautiful room and the complex was very quiet. The location is very convenient; one side of the Inn is a marina & across the street is the beach. Plus, within a couple of miles there are grocery stores, Tesla charging stations, a movie theatre and lots of restaurants & stores. The staff was very kind & cheerful, and the room was very clean. We will definitely stay here again. * Side note: 30 minutes away is one of those Christmas Decoration neighborhoods. We had a blast there.

Extremely noisy place!! Hollering and shouting outside my door and above me was some sort of construction going on. I tried to get some rest but it was impossible so I checked out after being there for only two hours (and yes they still charge me fully) And why a $150 security deposit on a little motel off PCH!!??? It’s not Vegas! I do not recommend.;(

Clean and nice!

Great check-in experience and they let us check-in early for no cost. Easy to park. Room was great with a mini fridge and microwave. Shower was nice.

Great area, quiet and clean. Perfect alternative location to stay for shows in LB area. $25 ride to Queen Mary. Would stay again

Yes. It was a nice clean room. I didnt accept room service but they offered it everyday

I had a big problem, there is no elevator. I had to help walk my 81 year old mom up the stairs to the 3rd floor then walk back down to help my 71 year old dad who recently had a stroke he even lost his footing climbing up and fell into the wall. Then back down a 3rd time to get the luggage. NO WHERE IN THE BOOKING DOES IT SAY NO ELEVATORS!!! The next morning I went to let the front desk know we could stay there with no elevators she informed me that we would be getting charged a day because we didn’t give her 24 hour notice of us leaving and yet we hadn’t even been checked in for 24 hours.

Pros: - Walking distance to Sunset Beach, which was quiet, beautiful and not at all busy. At certain times of day, you can see dolphins swimming 20-30ft from the shore! - Loved the food and drink options nearby (especially Tacos Surf, Himalayan Grill and Luv Collective café!) - Very reasonable price - Right on the Pacific Coast Highway, with nearby OC Transit bus stops that can take you to Huntington Beach or Long Beach - Microwave and mini fridge right in the room - Let us check in early at no extra cost Cons: - The inn is a bit old and showing its age. The rooms were clearly recently renovated, but because it's not a recently built building, noise carries pretty easily. You can hear footsteps above you and voices from other rooms, especially if they're speaking loudly - We found multiple black hairs near our pillows and under the covers when we first showed up—I'm blonde and my partner has short brown hair, so these very much weren't ours - Smoke alarm goes off easily from the steam of a shower That said, we loved being able to stay so close to the coast for a very reasonable price. We weren't looking for luxury anyway!

Cheap place to stay in a nice little town. It works.

Thank you always Sean, for the amazing stay
- 5/5
Everything was clean the staff is friendly you can easily walk to eat or the beach
- 5/5
I was extremely pleased staying here. I got a text that I was able to check in way earlier than the listed check in time which we appreciated greatly! Bed is extremely comfy, the area has lots of restaurants and close to the beach which is what we went for. Will come back here.

Clean and spacious. Worked well for my family (me, wife, toddler) and staff was very friendly and easy for check in & out. The only thing I would recommend would be changing the shower system with rain shower head. I am a tall guy, and it was very hard to rinse off. No complaints otherwise!
- 5/5
Very clean, check in was very friendly and I asked if we could check in early, she said of course. My teenagers thought the room was awesome, walking to the beach was perfect
- 2/5
There is almost nothing around it. No elevator, can't walk to the beach, have to pay for parking by the beach
- 5/5
Everything was perfect!

The rooms are quite comfortable, even though very basic. There is a refrigerator, small microwave and a hair dryer in the room. There are dispensers for conditioner, lotion, shampoo and hand soap. You may need to call only for towels and if the steam from the bathroom sets the smoke detector off, like during our stay. The location is better than I first thought when I arrived. You CANNOT see the ocean from the hotel. There are rows of houses in front of your view. However, if you brave the walk to the light so the south, with no sidewalk, there is a cute little Mexican Restaurant, an entrance to the beach, and a cool water tower house / B&B. The room is not quite, especially after 7 AM. I heard the cleaning staff and others too easily. Especially after a long night on Friday at Haunted Horror Night in Hollywood. One very unpleasant thing is the smallest parking spaces in the open covered parking (under the hotel). It was a nightmare squeezing into the last real space Friday night.

The pillows were very lumpy and the street traffic was loud making it difficult to sleep.
- 4/5
Hotel was reasonably priced in a convenient location. The stairs were a bit steep, especially for taking luggage up. Overall it was a good place to stay short term.
- 4/5
Adequate for our purposes. Right on the Highway, but the noise in the rooms was minimal
- 4/5
It is a nice clean quiet Inn… perfect for what we needed for a one night stay
- 5/5
Very nice rooms. Very clean! Smelled nice as soon as we walked in. Not strong, but nice.
- 4/5
Nice comfortable bed and great location with good parking. Construction going on next door, so that made it noisy. I would stay again.

Newly updated room. Very clean. Only down side they cant control is how loud everyone was in the hall and doors closing. Great local dining just a black or so down the road!
