The room we stayed in was clean. The only probably was that shower water smelled and took a while before the hot water came. The bathroom sink water when turned on it first was brown dirty water before clear water came through

Overall my experience was good for a one night stay.

Don’t. Just don’t. This property is so run down and disgusting. The walls in the bathroom were mildew stained. Everything was rusted and barely working. It smells. We were afraid to even use the bed. We ended up leaving and finding a new hotel for the night. The proximity to the beach is great. But the area is sketchy to say the least. I didn’t feel safe letting my kids sleep here. It needs a huge overhaul. Don’t even waste your money. We will never stay here again. Nor would I ever recommend this place to anyone.

If you're looking for a very simple place to crash on your way out or back, this place is fine. The location is great, close to the beach and right on the PCH. That said, it's not been refurbished since 3's Company was airing new episodes. I will say that the room was clean, as far as it could be, but check the AC filters (my first thing to check after the headboards for dust). The staff is friendly and helpful, which was great.

The location was awesome! The beach was right across the street so it was easy for us to walk to and from the beach as often as we wanted to. We had a balcony facing the ocean and we spent a little time there having coffee or wine and a little something to eat. We'd love to stay there again.

We were able to check in early, which was definitely a plus due to parking. However, the room was very odd and the shower didn’t work right and there was no blankets on the bed. I definitely am rethinking if next time we should stay there or just sleep in our car.

The bottom of my feet were black from the carpet, the gentleman who checked me in that night was fantastic however when I was letting the gentleman in the morning know about the situation with the room he got very defensive and proceeded to tell me that I should wear socks in the room and I should have checked the floor before I took my socks off…needless to say I won’t be back again and it left a very bad taste in my mouth

Total false advertising. There is no pool and no breakfast at all except tea and coffee. Street side rooms are very noisy so get a room with balcony facing ocean. Rooms are very old and not updated but the manager Nazrul Khan did make our more enjoyable as he upgraded us to an ocean view room the next day which was so much better.

But you pay for what you get. But the location was extremely amazing. They advertised for a continental breakfast, but they didn’t have any thing for breakfast. All they had was coffee so it was a good coffee.

Don’t judge a book by its cover! The outside of the hotel looks rundown, and also the lobby… but the room itself was very clean and very comfortable and very spacious! I would definitely stay here again!

The staff at night was less than helpful. Morning staff was very friendly. I was disappointed in the room cleanliness and found a used tea-bag in the coffee station in the room, the toilet tank was not square to the toilet and the toilet was slow to flush. The sheers had a hole. If you’re looking for a bed near the beach in a cheap room, go ahead.

Clean rooms, spacious bathroom with walk in shower. Bed area was very comfortable. This room has a tv with basic channels and a nice size TV. Fridge in room is a good size if you bring stuff to refrigerate. Ac in room was very nice. The only thing the vending machines were offline (Pepsi vendor issue with card reader had nothing to do with the overall hotel) so we weren’t able to use those late at night when we didn’t feel like going anywhere. Location of the hotel is nice, food options across the street and jacks on the corner for convenience. Parking is available and is monitored by make/model of vehicle so there is always parking for the hotel guests staying. No issues with noise and everyone kept to themselves which was nice. Hotel staff was very accommodating and helped us extend our stay with ease. Very professional and knowledgeable. Overall I was extremely pleased with our stay and would recommend to anyone who is looking for affordable rooms without compromising on expectations or experience. Would definitely stay here again.

Housekeeper was awesome. Disappointed that management did not address the issue right away from day one at time of checkin that air conditioner wasn't working. They wouldn't give a discount for the inconvenience. Rooms are not very insulated and can hear noise from second floor and neighbors.

Parking is pretty much non existent. You cannot stay here if you have any taller then average vehicle. 6ft is their parking height

About the best thing I can say is the manager was awesome. The first room was dank and dark. Mold in the shower and shower door. No lights near the bed because the plug didn't reach. And no ocean view. The manager kindly moved us to an ocean view room. This room was much nicer, brighter, and cleaner. We only stayed one night, and could have stayed longer. It wasn't a terrible place, just wasn't what I was expecting. But the balcony was a nice surprise!

Great location but had a clogged toilet 4 out of 5 nights. Made my room nearly uninhabitable. Finally installed a new toilet on the last day. We had non-refundable reservations or we would have left.

Our room had a balcony with an ocean/beach view. It was. Dry clean, beds were comfortable. There’s a mini fridge but no microwave in the room. There are microwaves available in what looked like it used to be a breakfast area. There was toasters and a nice room with tables and fresh brewed coffee station on the first floor. It’s really too bad they don’t include breakfast. Overall the place is a bit dated, but you can’t beat it for beach access. I would definitely stay here again.

I’ve stayed here many times, room was clean. The outside look isn’t much but the rooms seem to be a little bit upgraded possibly. Can’t beat the location for the price. I will stay here many times in the future.

They do not allow check out past 12 noon and even that is hard to get. Even if you pay them for a late check out they will not accept it. The hotel was not full it was a Monday, I’m not sure why they have this inconvenient rule about late checkout. They said if past 12 noon they would charge for another night. The room also didn’t have a microwave. Sodas are $4.50 each in the vending machine. We go street-side so that was not very quiet either. Nice place if you get the ocean view side and are fine checking out at 11 am.

Room 119 was on the Pacific Coast Hwy side located and vey loud at times at night. The curtains were not be able to close fully so we had always lights from outside shining inside the room. Wish we had known that beforehand. The pillows were all very big, we couldn't lay down our head. But we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the great shower. The beds were also good including the linnen. The heater worked great aswell. We couldn't find an extra blanket as we prefer not to use the heater when we sleep. We were also happy with the location as there was a small Plaza with coffee shop and gas station right across, and the beach on the other side, very nice. Overall all 3 of us were happy with our 3 nights stay.

Front desk staff not friendly. Room carpet was old and dirty. 2 of the electrical outlets were lose and would not hold a plug. Front door of lobby was never locked. No safety measures available. Carport was accessible to the public and not gated or secured.

Check-in was slow, the room smelt like pot, the room was outdated with old furnishings and carpet, the carpet was stained, the bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen. We had an ocean view room but we also had a beautiful view of the construction site which was 30 feet away from our room. The bed was decent and that was the only saving grace to the room. The pubic hair in the shower was the icing on the cake. This was suppose to be a Wyndham property but it definitely wasn’t up to Wyndham standards.

The room was clean and the size was great. Tje location is perfect. The only complaint i have is that the beds were the very uncomfortable and we didn't get much sleep because of it.

Easy process and friendly staff.

Staff was not that friendly checking in. Elevator only holds 2 people so that was a little scary. So we spent a lot of our time there bringing luggage up and down stairs. Room was clean. View of ocean was nice. Beware there is a major city works job going on right in front of the ocean view. Still would recommend staying there if you’re looking for an affordable place to stay by the beach.

Room was clean but the bathroom probably had some leaking and a bit of a musty smell. The last night they had 3 power outages. No big deal except that every time the power came back on the TV turned on and lit up the room. Did not get much sleep that night.

Walking distance to the beach and clean, inexpensive place to stay. Large rooms. Comfy beds. Not fancy but great value. Lots of homeless people around the area but we stay away from them and they don't bother us. Morning walks on the beach are amazing. Can't wait to come back again.

The room smelled like mold. I came home and my clothes reeked of mold. They are stains all over the bed. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone. There are other hotels near sunset beach.

Generally pretty run down with a few glaring design and maintenance issues. The newest and nicest thing would have been the shower except that the floor grout was left unfinished (rough) and the door seal was left untrimmed so it couldn't shut. The only light in the vanity area is an overhead recessed light BEHIND where you stand. There is no fixture near the mirror, only a cover plate where it is supposed to be, thus you and your face are always in shadow/darkness. HVAC cools well but is quite noisy. Parking garage is actually good but I was surprised how dirty my rental got in only 4 days. All of the photos show a oceanfront balcony and no ocean-facing option was provided so I thought all units were oceanfront. Only ½ or less face the ocean and of course mine faced US1 and the adjacent strip mall instead.

What is not to like about this property. I had the 2 queen suite. The room was very nice. Close to beach and food. Parking on site was free. Will be staying here going forward.

Love this hotel especially the rooms with balconies

There was a balcony off of our room. You could see the beautiful ocean, but the only thing is is that they say they have a continental breakfast and their continental breakfast consists of just a cup of coffee to them there’s no food for breakfast.

We liked that is close to the beach but our room was overlooking the main avenue opposite to it and heard all the traffic noise. The facilities are clean but at bit outdated.

Front desk employee was awesome. He let me switch my room so my girlfriend and I could get a beach view. This hotel will be the only beach hotel I stay whenever I want to stay by the beach. Perfect!

It was very close to the sand and surf. They need to have coffee available at the hotel instead of just hot water for tea.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Understandably, beach sand is hard to leave on the beach, and not easy to remove from room. Just a condition of environment. Bed sheets could have been changed more often. Other than that, no complaints. Appreciate the location. Will be back to visit again.

This is an older hotel so if you’re wanting any frills, this isn’t the place however, you have the beach right across the driveway that’s what I pay for and my frill lol. The water pressure is very weak for the showers. That’s the only negative. I have to say this is our go to hotel when we wanna stay close to home. And be by the beach.

Stayed here for years love the location! View of the beach and a one minute walk to the waves. Hotel is older, but has everything you need and is right across the street from a convenience store and a few walkable places to eat. We love this place and always come back for a quiet, relaxing trip.

Our room itself was fine, and loved our back balcony overlooking the ocean. However, the property itself was rundown and not secure. The front door, which opened onto a busy sidewalk was broken and left open and unlocked 24 seven. Avoid this property!

Great location just by the beach with a great cafe and food options nearby. The hotel itself could do with renovation but the rooms were clean and big. The location more than made up for the old decor.

The individual responsible for our check-in exhibited a lack of proficiency, resulting in a double charge and an error in the service provided to the customer prior to us. Furthermore, the staff exhibited a lack of courtesy, denying us access to the restroom located in the lobby. Consequently, our children were compelled to use the restroom in an inconvenient manner.

The reviews are all over the place for this property because it depends on your personal preferences whether you will be comfortable here. You may be turned off by bars on parking garage, cracked mirrors in lobby, very old carpet and paint in common areas. BUT…the location is amazing. Better than the downtown HB hotels in my opinion. Don’t have to cross PCH to get to beach. Our room was spacious, clean, felt recently remodeled with new paint, nice tile in bathroom etc. Room had a large fridge. Even the non ocean view was nice as you look out over palm trees and the wetlands. Housekeeping came every day which is rare these days as most hotels can’t be bothered. No breakfast but there is a microwave and fresh coffee downstairs. Nice coffee shop with breakfast across the street or jack in the box next door. I would definitely stay here again. Some houseless folks hang out in the area so keep that in mind if you think that will bother you.

We have been coming here for 13 years, this visit was terrible. Our carpet was dirty when we arrived. Floor had not been vacuumed, pile of stuff behind refrigerator. Room was very outdated. We have never stayed in 108 and i hope we never do again!!!!

Everything was great up until check out time. I went to check out first and left my family in the room while they finish up. It was around 10:50am when I checked out. My family and I were grabbing our stuff to come out and the phone to the room rings. It was the manager saying that they told him that I was still in the room and I told him that I was getting my family and stuff to leave and he had an attitude. And he was like ok please do it. THAT WAS RUDE

This property has a wonderful location because you can get right on a path and walk along the beach for as far as you’d like. We truly enjoyed that. The hotel/ room is certainly not fancy. But if you are looking for a reasonable place to stay, in a great location, this is it!

I’ve stayed here before and really enjoyed the updated rooms, but the room I had this time hasn’t been refreshed in quite a while. The bathroom, in particular, showed signs of age—there's only so much caulking that can be done before a full renovation is needed. This property is in a fantastic location, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back. I’ve noticed they’ve been painting the exterior, and it’s looking great. I just hope they finish updating the rooms as well, so frequent guests know what kind of experience to expect each time.

Good, 40’ from beach, house keepers are on it. Plenty of tp ice. Car is not necessary if you’re into ocean, restaurants and convenience stores

For the value and location this hotel was fine. Sheets and towels were clean. Comfy bed. Super dated, the hairdryer attached to the wall was from the 50s, floor was gross, felt stick to bare feet, the shower door was stuck. If you are going to stay here because its a good deal, het a room with a balcony, the view of the ocean was great and the sunset was amazing.

I was naked in bed with my partner, when my front door opened. I had the safety chain on but on the other side of the door. There was 3 guys and 1 girl. The hotel had rented my room and I had checked in 25 minutes ago. The front desk called later and said sorry but I could not get a good nights rest. A but worried the door was going tk open up again. The door lock did not work. I had to put somthing to block the door, that cause the bathroom to stay open the whole night. The room smelled like fish, I had to opem the window. The property looks like is managed by people who do not care. The room was clean but the shower was dirty. The location is great, the staff is nice exept a younger man in the front desk. He was almost screaming at me because I booked threw expedia. I will not be coming back to the place, the peice is not worth the whole experience.

Beautiful beach view.

There were bugs all over bathroom and long black curly hair in the sheets. The room was on high blast heat to 90degress. Took over an hour to cool room off enough to sleep. No breakfast and coffee was meh. They front desk people did not smile or warmly greet.

Place is very close to the beach, its old needs some TLC BUT it was clean and reception staff was friendly.

Well this is a place to lay your head down is about it. Food near by is amazing. Bring pillows and blankets we asked for extra pillows they are not offered, no heat or AC that we saw. Pretty run down and old. Needs lots of work. Our shower curtain was put up with a bottle cap which you can get a rod from the dollar tree so that was interesting. No where to hang your towels. Easy check in, very close to the beach which those were a plus. Homeless are around there but none came into the property during our stay. Lobby bathroom not avaliable. Overall, the beds are uncomfortable, it smells and open for anyone to come in. Somewhat clean but wallpaper coming off in our room. They need something to bring down the moisture into the whole motel. Travelodge and Wyndham not sure these names should be attached to this property. We did get the handicapped room, size was great, but the bathroom floor gets soaked. Thanks for the stay but wont be back.

The Travel Lodge was very close to where I was to meet with friends. The area felt safe and well lit at night. The exterior of the hotel was a bit run down but the room was clean. For the cost of the stay I could not ask for a better room

The rooms are good but the hotel is not very secure. Main doors open to the outside. Underground parking has no doors. Everything including the elevator is accessible by anyone at any time. Somebody could access bypassing the desk by the elevator or stairs and the front desk would never know.

The ocean view

We chose this property for its location on the beach. Lots of homeless people in the area including the hotel parking garage. They are working to update the rooms so it has improved but still needs more work.

I guess it was what I'd expect from a Travelodge. The location was wonderful but the place itself looked old and tired. It was a cold night and the heater seemed to barely pump out enough heat to keep the room warm.

The website stated it had a continental breakfast but it did not. I consider that false advertising. There was other guests that were upset, especially the ones that had children. Two of the front desk employees were very nice..

The location was amazing just walk out and your pretty much at the beach the rooms are outdated but for the price you should not expect it to be amazing but the hotel was super clean and pretty peaceful they were super fast to act when my toilet kept running and when I requested a playpen for my toddler in my room

I love staying here! It’s not the fanciest hotel, but the staff is always so nice and you can’t beat the location! I enjoy laying in bed and listening to the ocean.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The sliding shower door made a terrible noise and had to be lifted to move. The doors leading to the outside were often propped open and did not self close when you went in and out which is a security issue.

We have noticed much more wear and tear on the hotel in the past few years. The beds are old spring mattresses that squeak louder and louder with each coming year. The air conditioning unit is old and musky, which leads me to believe the filter is probably old. The shower head in the bathroom is definitely old and has not been cleaned in quite some time, the calcium build up and staining on it showed as much. The bathroom door was warped and scraped along the floor as it opened and closed. And the sealant around the toilet was peeling back and very discoulered arohnd the base of the toilet. Despite all of this, we will probably come and stay again. We hope they will do some general maintenance on the rooms in the meantime.

The room we got was spacious and had an updated bathroom which was nice!! The beds were cheap and so uncomfortable!! The windows open to the room which was nice for the ocean breeze …. Room came with small refrigerator but no microwave.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. It is not fancy but it is clean. The front desk is friendly enough. The rooms are ample and for a little extra you get a great view of the ocean. It is a 2 minute walk and you are on the sand at the beach. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are nice. There is a fridge and a coffee maker in the rooms. For being right on the beach the price is amazing. Everytime we want to stay on the beach, this is where we will go. Across the street away from the beach side is an amazing coffee place, a great Mexican restaurant, a wonderful bar and pizza place and a mini Mart for those snacks and drinks late at night. Ubering everywhere is a breeze. We love this place.

This place looks a little rough from the outside and somewhat on the interior. But room was clean and bed was comfortable although quite noisy. Great location for the beach and considering the price point it was decent and would be willing to stay there again.

We had such a perfect view of the ocean. It was a very comfortable vacation and extremely affordable considering the location. We will definitely be back.

Very outdated, but very friendly caring staff

The motel is a bit run down and not well laid out. Room was clean but very basic. No breakfast, just coffee. Location is convenient. Make sure to get a beach side room. The street side can be very noisy.

Our room was clean and spacious. It was a safe, comfortable, quiet place for us to recharge during our adventures. Check was easy, even though we came in past check-in time. Staff were curteous and informative. It was perfect for our needs.

This property has a great location with its proximity to the beach. If you pay the upgrade fee, you can have an ocean view, which is very nice. The staff were good. The room had what we needed and was clean. The property itself is old and run down. While the location is great, there are homeless people sleeping and living just across from the property and you get the joy of looking at them while trying to enjoy the ocean view from your room. There is also a very busy bus line just outside the hotel and again a visual obstruction to the ocean. With all that said, if there were no homeless, buses or run down property, then the price of the room would be 3-4X more. We booked it for the economical advantage given its closeness to the beach.

The property is right on the ocean so obviously that part is awesome and the fact it’s a third cheaper than most places on the ocean makes it affordable. The parking is also free. It’s not near anything exceptional to walk to but does have basic needs within walking distance. While the location right by the ocean is great, the downside is looking out the upgraded room view you purchased to look at the ocean only to have homeless people a constant string of bus lines coming through. I’d probably stay here again but know if you are staying here the property is pretty run down. Our room was clean.
