Ocean Surf Inn & Suites

We had a simple one night stay. The hotel itself is quaint. The room wasn’t what I expected from the pictures I saw online but it did the job. It could use a good update, but they did offer some breakfast for the morning and they had things you can borrow to go to the beach. It’s close to all kinds of restaurants and a brewery so that was nice. Overall it was a good stay.

What a lovely hidden gem! Steps to a quiet beach and tons of great food. My favorite spot for birding is also a two minute drive away! I will definitely be back.

It was just alright, the location is amazing, however the building is old and showing it wear and tear, manager was nice enough, breakfast situation was just weird, not being able to grab what you wanted had to ask for certain items with just fruit and packages cereal, they have used toy and beach accessories area which is cool in practice but was just off putting the beach chair was gross looking, the beach was a 2 min walk and well worth the visit, the bed and pillows were fine but very outdated, and the fridge had rust stains all over the front of it, paid for the location not for the “stay”

The front desk employee was consistently unhelpful, arrogant, and reluctant to assist guests. He was also rude and passive-aggressive toward the children in our group, which was especially disappointing given the nature of our stay. The elevator was unreliable and even broke down for over 30 minutes while a family was trapped inside. In addition, the room key cards frequently stopped working, causing unnecessary inconvenience. The continental breakfast was poorly managed. Guests had to stand in line at a counter to receive food, and there was not enough breakfast available for our group despite the hotel knowing in advance about our booking. When concerns were raised, management was reluctant to provide additional food. What was most troubling was the manager's behavior toward the children. He yelled at kids for accidentally dropping a few sugar packets while preparing a drink. He also picked up a sugar packet from the floor and handed it to an adult in our group as if it should still be used, which was both unprofessional and unhygienic. The only consistently positive aspect of our stay was the housekeeping staff, who did an excellent job keeping the rooms clean and were pleasant to interact with. Overall, the poor customer service, lack of hospitality, elevator issues, and inadequate breakfast experience made this a stay we would not recommend.

Amazing location. 5 minute walk to the beach, local eateries and shopping. Rooftop Deck was nice. There is construction being done and it's a family place, so keep that in mind. For us, my daughter and I had a great experience

The room was dirty… what a disappointment! The General Manager got upset because I called for a late morning checkout at 10:30 pm… which is very odd considering the nature of Hotels is all people coming late or, early but he is one of the most inauthentic, disingenuous people you’ll come across. He is also a little creepy and may even be the owner given how he responds to all of the bad reviews on here - very childishly (scroll & see them for yourself). So beware of that negative energy. Great location but not a destination-worthy experience.

Sweet spot.

Perfect location. Easy to access, close to the beach, quiet, breakfast included. We arrived after midnight and the check in process was so smooth. Very hospitable workers. We would absolutely stay here again!

Our room smelled strongly of bleach and mildew. There was mold in the shower grout. Our door security latch got stuck and we were locked IN our room for about 30min. We even called the after hours staff but we eventually got it open. All in all the staff were friendly but its basically a Motel 6, 15min away from Huntington Beach.

Very noisy in mornings

This was a nice property really close to the beach. Plenty of parking. The rooms were cute and clean - Bathroom was nice with good water pressure. There was a mini fridge in the room and an ice machine in the middle of the complex. PLUS there is a rooftop area to hang out. WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!!

Such a quaint little hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home: they even have a little breakfast room where they make fresh pancakes each morning. As a single woman traveler I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable.

Easy check-in and friendly staff. Great location across from a beautiful beach. Lots of beach things (chairs, toys, etc) for guests to borrow. The room was large, comfortable and clean, though aged, so just reframe expectations. By looking at pics and prices you should have an idea of the level of lodging this is, so we were more than satisfied with that in mind. They had a person serving breakfast that looked good- we just didnt have time to enjoy- along with coffee/tea and water station. Free parking was a bonus!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was clean and the staff was great. It’s a little older but they keep it well maintained. Definitely a mom and pop place to stay and we will definitely come back. Love that the ocean was a 2 minute walk from the place.

The property was beautiful as usual. Everyone was super friendly. Leslie was so sweet when we checked out. We weee there for my best friends birthday and her name was written on the surf board hanging up in the entry way it was super cool. It’s always super special when we stay there. we used a blanket and chairs they had supplied for customers use. Always have what we need when visiting even sun block! Only complaint was the bathroom in the garage was a little dirty but other than that everything was perfect. This is our favorite place to stay! Thank you! Will be back in June!

While the room looked clean, the moldy smell was overpowering. The air conditioning had a terrible smell. My whole family was shocked by the mold smell in the room.

We very much enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return. Super comfortable and great location.

This hotel was wonderful. It was a classic hotel style with great beachy/family vibes. We loved the courtyard sitting area and the rooftop deck. The view of the ocean was really nice. The walk to the beach was super close and easy. The beach gear to borrow was so helpful. My tweens loved it.

The only issue I noticed was with the sink drain. It seemed a little backed up at times and occasionally spit out some black debris, so the drain may need to be cleaned out. Other than that, everything was great and I really enjoyed my stay.

We enjoyed our one night stay at the inn. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the continental breakfast was good. It was nice that the inn is so close to the beach. We would stay here again.

All the staff members, especially Shawn and the breakfast lady, were friendly and helpful. If I have to be in SoCal on my own, I’d definitely stay there again!

Great place to stay felt quiet and safe

The property was a bit out dated, the room was dark and there was an adjoining room which was blocked off by a desk and took me by surprise. Appreciated the hospitality of Sean and the free parking was a big plus to why we booked this stay. Overall, good place for a quick stay if you don’t mind an outdated room. Property itself is definitely closer to a motel.

Other than that, everything was amazing. The location is super close to the beach, which was a huge plus. The owner was also a really cool guy who made us feel welcome and always spoke to us whenever we crossed paths.

Management was kind enough to check us in even with a late arrival! Fresh coffee in the morning and really close to the beach!

Clean and spacious rooms with comfortable beds. We booked a park view room which had a nice little balcony to sit on and watch people walk their dogs down the grassy park area - we could even see the ocean! Very nice that parking is included and also they have towels and miscellaneous chairs and stuff you can take to the beach. It is a very short walk to get to Sunset Beach - which was amazing and not crowded. Will definitely stay here again!

This was the perfect beach stay! Just a walk across the street and we had our toes in the sand! There were beach towels and chairs to use at the office and restaurants in walking distance for dinner after watching the sunset. The room was clean and beds were comfortable.

The highlight of this hotel is 3 things. 1- Shaun the Manager and his wife are super nice. 2- the proximity to the beach and parking. 3- the ability to use beach chairs, towels and beach toys. That is what makes this hotel. Otherwise, lower your expecations. The rooms are clean but dated and utilitarian. The room towels are clean but probably need to be replaced. The jet jacuzzi tub in the room splatters water all on the floor and bedside.

Ocean Surf Inn is a hidden gem in the middle of Sunset Beach. Steps away from the beach and right in the middle of Seal Beach, Huntington Beach and Newport Beach. Truly is a prime location. Not only that but that staff is incredibly sweet and kind. Forgot your beach towel, no worries they have a bunch of clean towels waiting for you to take and free breakfast with a kind lady who makes pancakes. It’s my husband and I’s favorite place to come back home too.

The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating. The inn was in a great spot, right off highway 1 and very close to the beach. The first room we were given smelled so bad of mold/mildew my husband instantly said “Nope” and requested a different room. Thankfully they were able to do so, but the second room wasn’t much better. The smell was better but there were what appeared to be mold spores in the curtains and the tiny wall A/C vent. The bathroom had no vent fan for steam and you can tell the walls were suffering some type of humidity damage. I wouldn’t have been surprised to learn that the walls have mold growing inside. Not having carpet was a good thing but the mattresses and linens were still affected by the smell and humidity.

Location is great if you want a laid back beach atmosphere. They have chairs, etc. you can use which is nice. Breakfast is meh but not a big deal for us. Book your room on the beachside to avoid road noise! Our shower curtain was really dirty and would not stay closed which was annoying. If you’re ok with a no frills place this is a good place to start!

Not the best breakfast options, but at least there’s options! The days I was there, there was 24/7 coffee, tea, iced water & hot chocolate bar which we loved! It feels like a very homey hotel. Legit from my room door to the water it was at most a 5 minute walk! & FREE PARKING!? gotta love it

Location is amazing. The check in staff/morning guy is less than welcoming. He’s a bit unsettling. The room smelled like a humid garden - all the time. The people vaping outside our room made it smell like weed, not sure if that was an improvement.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. The hotel was well maintained and quiet at night. It was a short walk to the beach and chairs and beach equipment was provided so that was nice.

Truly enjoyed our stay! Price was good and the room was clean and the bathroom well stocked with what we needed. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The games and beach chairs in the lobby were a wonderful addition, we were able to borrow the chairs to watch the sunset over the ocean and take some board games up to our room in the evening. Breakfast was adequate, nothing fancy but enough to get us started. The rooftop deck had beautiful views. Parking was a little tricky, but it worked out. Lots of restaurants in walking distance and the beach was right next door, so we didn’t need to drive much. The only trip we took was to Main Street in Seal Beach and that was a very close drive and worth checking out! Overall, it was great for a relaxing weekend away, glad we chose this property!

Our experience here was amazing! Everyone was extremely friendly and overall everything was great. Clean and super close to the beach which we loved! They even have a bathroom out in their parking lot, which is accessible with the room key. Super convenient. We will definitely be returning!

Nice location but 5.5 miles from Huntington Pier in Seal Beach. Loud talking in the alley behind until early morning hours. Not hotels fault just people walking around. Bring earplugs. Steps to the beach makes it a good choice. Staff is very nice.

The breakfast situation was a little awkward. Having to place an order and then carry it back up to your room- a grab and go continental would be way easier on staff and guest.

Great location to beach, typical beachy motel

Stayed in room 306 perfect visibility to the ocean. Enjoyed listening to the ocean waves at night and watching sunrise on the patio with dolphins jumping close to shore. This is the absolute perfect bed and breakfast. The hospitality of homemade “pancakes” pastry juice and coffee every morning is comforting. I will be back to sunset beach soon. Peaceful at night. Quiet in the mornings to regain your zen and peace of mind. Thank you again OCEAN SURF INN I truly love your place and the Misses for her yummy breakfast. 💕💕

We loved this little gem of an Inn! The staff and the room were lovely. We did have a relaxing view of the beach and ocean from our balcony! We were just steps to the beach. They had a nice breakfast too. We would highly recommend and also return there in the future.

Clean room, well-lit parking garage, friendly staff all made our stay pleasant. While breakfast was not fancy, it was lovely to take it up to the rooftop terrace and enjoy the beautiful morning.

Power went out for hrs and everything was pitched black. No flashlights were given. We were on the 3rd floor and had to go down stairs with lights from our phones. No communication. No compensation was given.

Not there an hour and the entire building's power shuts off. Told at least 2 hours wait. Wife was in the shower when it happened, could've been bad. No adjustment on overpriced rate. Terrace stairs are rotting, use caution. Place is falling apart/rusting.

Very nice and clean place

Room was clean, and comfortable, beds and pillows are good, shower is great, refrigerator is larger than most, and the manager was very accommodating. Only bad was that the vending machine didn't work, so no late night snacks.

It was unexpected. For a budget hotel in such a special area, I was pleased with the condition of the room and the overall amenities. Not fancy but clean, up to date and better than expected.

The room was so clean, the GM was very nice and accommodating! The beach is as close as can be. They loaned us beach chairs and towels to take on the beach too! We really enjoyed ourselves.

The Ocean Surf Inn & Suites was perfect for my short trip to the area. Easy parking, my room was spacious and comfortable. It was clean and had everything I needed. I will be back for a longer stay with my family.

This is a decent Inn and our room was clean & cute! They do have beach towels and chairs, etc. available for guests to use which is a big plus if you need them. Great view from room/balcony as well as the roof top area and the clean beach is absolutely beautiful so we would stay again (in a different room). Location is great with beach access right across the street and various food options within walking distance (our favorite was definitely Calico Fish House). Reasons I did not give 5 stars are 1) the curtains would not close along the side next to the bed allowing the sun to beam in my face very early in the AM; and 2) the noise in the hall waking us up multiple times from housekeeping and/or management going in and out of a storage room right next to our room (or elsewhere?) and apparently the door does not open or close quietly. Easy fixes to make it perfect/5 stars. :-)

Great pancakes!

The rooms are clean but they are very musty smelling possibly due to lack of heat in the rooms or water problems in the building !! The only elevator wasn’t working which we were informed at check-in!

Nice location near the beach. However, this is an older hotel and it shows. The elevator was down the whole time we were there. Also, our room door would not lock and the bathroom fan was also broken. They did fix the room door issue.

We stayed here for five overnights during a trip to Southern California. Overall, it was a good experience. The front desk guy is lovely and was helpful and nice. The room was tidied up daily. The shower was good. Breakfast is light but helped us get started each day- just some yogurt and cereal.

Great to have free parking close to the beach. The front desk clerk was asleep when we arrived at 6:30 pm and the elevator did work so had climb a metal stair case with our luggage and toddler.

Dirty and smelly

40 minute check in since they couldnt find reservation. Room booked was not available and we got put in double bed handicapped room with no view. Filthy room with food and grime all over outside of refrigerator and headboards. Absolutely disgusting.

Great stay! The beds are great. They have a balcony that you can see the oven and the sun setting . Right next the beach and great food choices nearby. Taco Surf was amazing.

Everything was awesome except the bed... Great place to stay, wonderful staff and very clean! Just please replace the beds that are old and caved in... You would easily get 5 stars if the bed was not bad.

The hotel is way too expensive to be that rundown.

The room was nicely updated with a few blemishes of course. Good location and great offseason rate. The problem we had is the room was 201. The lobby is two stories with a staircase to second level. Every single thing that happened in lobby traveled up and into our room so we heard conversations constantly. Also the maintenance closet is next to the room and somebody was in and out at 4:00 a.m. and was consistently having the door slammed.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. Parking is a little tight. The beach is across the street and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

It was ok for the money. Basically what I expected from a $120 a night room. Balcony railing was practically falling off so that was scary. Did have a great view of the ocean, however.I don't think I'd sray here again but it worked for my needs at the time.

We have been staying at Ocean Surf & Suites for years now and we look forward to it each year from the moment we check out. The proximity to the beach, good food and all within 15 minutes of both Long Beach and Huntington Beach, just make it the perfect little hideaway.

Great location and the best staff!

The balcony view was nice. You can see and hear the ocean. You can keep door open all night to hear ocean. It is easy to get to the beach. The staff is very nice. The breakfast is simple but very nice. The rooms are clean. I would pay to stay in room again as it is in a quite area and near good local restaurants and close to stores to.

Around 10 minute drive to Huntington Beach Pier. Decent size room.

There were 2 down sides though. None of which correlated to our ratings but I feel guests should know. 1. The beach that is right behind the inn is very dirty. There was trash all over the beach and even in the water. We decided to get in the car and take a short 14 minute trip to Huntington pier which was great. 2. The walls are very thin. We could hear folks in the lobby anytime they were down there and we could hear the people in the room next to us. We didn’t mind for this trip, but if you’re wanting more privacy then I would not choose this location.

This property was nice. The front desk guy was friendly and welcoming. Our room was not bad. Upon arriving our toilet was plugged. The front desk guy fixed that right away and was apologized. Unfortunately I would say the room was quite dirty. A large amount of dust on the bed frame and around the room. The floors were very dirty so socks or slippers are a must. The number one thing that was annoying was there was a syringe (needle) left in the safe. It was capped, but nonetheless, not something you want to find in your safe or room. The breakfast was good. The pancakes was a nice touch. Coffee was really good. Overall I would say this was a pretty nice place. A few things could be improved and some more attention to the cleanliness.

Very nice place to stay at. It is only a minute walk to sunset beach. Also includes a very nice roof top patio to have coffee or tea in the morning.

Such a cute hotel. We arrived late and Shaun at the front desk was so accommodating for our arrival. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Very easy access to the beach and the hotel has items we could borrow to take to the beach (towels, chairs, etc). We loved our stay!

This was the most AWFUL TRIP EVER! This place is a huge NO for anyone looking. Car broken into the first night in Their Carport! Ask for a possible camera footage and that was a No. The supposed Continental Breakfast, had no hot coffee and was a room blocked off with a table and a Tip Jar with someone behind it sayin what can i get you? Seriously, i cant just walk in and see what you have (wrapped pastries, fruits and cereals) and decide? Nevermind, im good. Walked across to Starbucks. That was a plus. Only plus is the easy walk to the beach but Thats It!

Ok, good location to the beach

I hadn’t looked into how our e-bikes would fit in the room beforehand, but thankfully, there were no issues at all. The room was comfortable, and the balcony was a favorite spot—we loved sitting outside to relax and enjoy the view. The staff was so sweet, kind, and welcoming. Since it’s a smaller hotel, you run into the same friendly faces, and it really makes you feel like family. Everyone we met was wonderful. Overall, this is just a great hotel in a great spot. I can’t recommend it enough, and we will definitely be back!

Shaun and his wife really make you feel at home. Fresh coffee right at 7am everyday and they make pancakes for you as well as other breakfast items. We loved our ocean view room and also the rooftop where you can watch the sunset and they have chairs in the outdoor furniture. Just a few hundred yards from the beach. We also love that they have some block towels to walk to the beach with boogie boards. This is our second time staying here and we will stay there every time we come out to.

LOVED how attentive & accommodating staff was! Check in was a breeze and the room was clean and spacious. A walk to the beach, and surrounded by many diners, bars, etc. Fantastic stay overall, wish we would have stayed sooner!!

Very friendly staff! Shaun greeted us, gave us food suggestions and helped us even get into our room early! The place has a cozy atmosphere and a friendly lending library with beach supplies. We loved the rooftop lounge area to have a few drinks at the end of the night. (There is an awesome brewery like 8 min walk away!! ) The area is walkable with quite a few restaurants within 10 min. walking. Our room had a memory foam type mattress and hard flooring. Best part of all was the beach access!!! 2 minute walk!! It was amazing!! The area is so cute and quaint and we even walked to the beach at night to see the moon over the water. Our room had a balcony with a screen door facing towards the water and you could hear the ocean from the room!! It was also pretty clean for the type of hotel it is. Cons: Parking is free, but does fill up fast! I think if we hadn't checked in early we might have missed out on being able to park. Also may be difficult to exit for cars which are low to the ground. The shower had no curtain. Odd. However, we did not talk to them about this, so maybe this is something they could have helped us with. While pretty clean, the walls were dusty. You could see that they had repainted only half the wall and left the old paint on the other half. Did noy impact our stay, just domething we noticed. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!!

We absolutely love this property! My family and I have stayed here 7 years in a row, and it’s always been wonderful. The rooms are spotless, the staff is so friendly, and you really can’t beat the location—just steps from the beach. It almost feels like a hidden gem that I don’t want to share because it’s that good! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

We really enjoyed that this property was beach accessible. They have beach chairs and other beach related items in the lobby for guests to use. There are many dining options close by. The breakfast was perfect for the two of us.

Just wanted a few day to relax next to the beach. This motel has a great location. The owner/manager was so nice and helpful. He notified us when our room was ready, which was a few hours before check-in. Steps to the sand.

First time staying at a hotel this close to the beach, what a cool experience.

Room had the necessities and bed was comfortable. Only complaint was the very loud activity from the cleaning folks in the area outside our room right around 7am.

The staff was nice and friendly. We walked into the room and the smell was awful we had to buy an air freshener to try and help. I understand it’s by the ocean and things will smell musty but we’ve stayed at properties by the water before and never had a place smell so gross. The shower was small and it leaked in the bathroom so the bathroom was constantly wet and had to use the towels to dry the floor off. It is in a great location close to the beach and free parking is a bonus but it’s old and outdated. Well stay further from the beach next time to be more comfortable.

Location was perfect for being so close to the beach. The room was horrible from time we walked in. There was a horrible smell and found small portion of mildew spot in a/c and curtains. The bed had sand in it, I understand I’m at the beach but I would expect clean sheets when first arriving. The towels were stained and extremely rough.

This place is perfect if you’re looking for a convenient spot close to the beach. There are some things that can be upgraded for a better experience. For one, the sheets while I believe to be clean did have stains. The shower head fell off while showering. The shower curtain needs to be replaced due to mold growth on the bottom.

Yes this property is older but they do what they can. It’s worth what you pay for but the convenience to the beach and the beach accessories they offer ensure I will be back.

window in room was left open and no screen on it. brought a couple bugs and dust in. mold in the bathroom shower and missing tiles on the bathroom wall towels are older. parking was almost unattainable at the hotel however parking on the street was easy to get walked to the beach which was awesome and brought toys from the hotel with us. the male owner was very nice. overall this visit was not as comfortable as my first time here

pls. note that the first day of the stay was great due to a female staff named Leslie - not sure how to spell. she was welcoming, provides door to door services, friendly, Next day so called manager Sean arrives. very rac*st against non-white, refuses to provide service door to door, rude when asked. the owner needs to be told that this live-in manager refuses to be bothered with service request that is known to be part of the job he is being paid for. despite being paid to provide service like replacing items or toilet paper, he responds rudely when asked. this inn is in a beautiful place across the beach. but if you all want a pleasant experience, ask when only Leslie will be working. or find another place. btw do not believe the free breakfast they tack in their description. by this manager's bidding, they ration food like guests are in a gradeschool lunchline. only 2 tiny pieces of pancakes n no more. there is no breakfast spot after you get your little tray on line. they charge too much for this lousy service. STAY AWAY if you want a relaxing vacation.

Very nice place close to the beach!

Ocean surf inn has a prime location. Literally half a block from the beach, easy to get to with this access. The parking under the building was a nice bonus to keep vehicle out of the sun. Continental breakfast was a nice perk and loved the rooftop deck. It is a bit noisy, from people above our room as well as noisy near the elevator. Otherwise, we’d stay again for sure.

My view was into a wall just three feet away. Terrible experience. No sunlight or barely any daylight. Worst hotel I stayed in a long tkme

The stay started nicely. There was lady at the front desk who was extremely polite and super helpful. The room was nice and clean. However the stay became bad with the presence of a guy named Shaun. He is the general manager. On the day we were leaving we asked at 6:53 AM if he can unlock the front door as our cab arrived and we have to carry our 7 suitcases but he kept saying the door opens at 7 am. My son asked for half cup milk but he said breakfast starts at 7 am.

Perfect location and loved our 3rd floor ocean view room. We made good use of the loaner beach supplies provided (toys, boogie board, chairs) and found the area safe and easy to navigate and plenty of good food options nearby. Room was clean and comfortable and the rooftop deck is A+

I had a very good experience. Staff was friendly room smelled clean as you walk in. Bed was very comfortable. Was very pleased with my stay.

Great location. Top floor relatively quiet, away from highway. Beach across the street. Staff was nice. Bathroom could be better. Toilet too low for those with disabilities. Shower pressure and coverage insufficient. Floors were dusty. Not enough parking inside the property though there is some parking outside. I was cautioned that parking can be a challenge on the weekends. Not sure if i would stay here again based on what was in the room.

The location is ok, BUT the room suck, there was sand on the top blanket, the breakfast room so small you need to make a 30 minutes line to grab a snack, not wort the price.

The hotel manager Shaun was very kind and helpful. We stayed on the second floor. I would recommend the top floor (3rd). The hotel is old. You can hear people walking, talking and slamming their doors. Also the musty smell of the room, so we left our windows open. Overall we had a good stay. The location of the hotel was the best!

This hotel is not luxury, but location is awesome, with it being walking distance to the beach. They have beach gear to use, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfy. They make pancakes fresh each morning. Breakfast had several options and they make fresh pancakes in the morning. We chose this place because of its close proximity to the beach. I was happy with my stay here.

Everything was exactly as advertised!! Perfect for me and my 19 and 13 year old. Small beach town feel only 30 minutes from Disneyland and only 30 SECONDS from the beach!! Excellent value for the price!! Loved the location, rooftop deck, and friendly staff who made breakfast every morning. We did not have a car (though parking is free if you do) so we were also glad to have several local and delicious restaurants within walking distance, too. Highly recommend if you are looking for an affordable, relaxed way to enjoy the beach.

Leslie greeted us and we got to check in early since our room was ready by 12. We enjoyed our room and was comfortable!! Bathroom just a little small and for the size of the sink. Very dangerous. Granddaughter hit her head twice. The shower downstairs for after the beach didn’t work very well. Besides that we loved the place and the rooftop sundeck was awesome!! And the breakfast was good and Leslie was amazing!!!! We would definitely come back!!

Id love to say this place was a dump, dirty, rude employees... all so i can keep this place to myself! A true hidden gem. Sean, manager was amazingly accommodating! They have beach towels to borrow. Other guests have left boogie boards and toys, all for you to use. Fresh water and the gpod coffee is in the lobby. Parking is great. We have a ram 2500 and it fit, but we parked outside for more room. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Dont pass on this hotel.

Shawn is amazing. His customer service is and friendliness is off the chart. we come once a year for a little family vacation. the kids love it. there's many places to choose to eat. and the beach is across the street.

Was a really cute and cozy hotel. The gentleman at the desk was nice and friendly. Smelled wonderful and clean. The roof top area was fun and nice to sit out in the sun and hang out. Definitely get the ocean view room.Waking up to the sound of the waves and such a beautiful view is so worth it.

Really basic hotel but if you get a balcony it's a view of the water and the beach, very comfortable bed. Sunset Beach is home to some fun restaurants we had a blast at Taco Surf and really good food. The hotel manager is a very nice guy, it's a neat little place right on PCH so make sure you request a balcony away from the highway.

Room 208’s restroom smelled of dirty water/ mold and the ventilation wasn’t working in there. Only 1/3 of the lights worked and signs of rust was apparent on the shower parts. A lot of traffic such as people and utilities like water from showers and toilets was really loud at times. The pictures provided for the room was misleading as it gave the impression that the location was DIRECTLY on the beach, and not a minutes walk. Granted it was still close, but I chose this place BECAUSE of the images. The room seemed okay, but the pictures regarding the room appeared either altered or from a past couple of years. Other than that, the stay was okay, a place to get away and relax. While not absolutely terrible, we will both look for alternative options for the future in this area.

This hotel is perfect for a trip to the beach. The staff was friendly, helped us with a few things because we were celebrating my daughter’s birthday. They even made a Happy Birthday sign for her in the lobby. Highly recommend this hotel.

I had a very nice room with a balcony view of the ocean. Neighbors were disrespectful slamming doors. Banging on walls. Breakfast every morning. Room was great, comfy bed, lots of extra towels. I would stay again.

Beach access, nice, clean place, very friendly staffs.

Experience was not well. Bathroom sink over fulled with black water and took awhile to get someone out to fix it. Shaun, the hotel employee did not give great customer service at all. Did not offer any alternatives or didn’t apologize for the situation. Would not stay there again

Very intimate fell in the hotel

This is a fantastic, very clean hotel. It is just seconds from the beautiful sunset beach and the gorgeous Pacific ocean! The property and the rooms were very clean, comfortable and quiet! Shawn, the manager was so nice and so eager to help in anyway! He really helped make our stay extra special! We enjoyed talking to him daily. All the other staff were also very nice and the daily free breakfast was delicious as was the coffee! We will definitely be back! Thank you Shawn and staff for your kindness! Oh, and the plants and flowers outside the front of the hotel are amazing ❤️
