I had my elderly mom with me and she had back pain issues the next day from the bed. On my end I found hair on the towels that were folded in my bathroom. On the second trip back through Jacksonville I had already made reservations to the same hotel and found quite a bit of hair (no mine) in the shower tub. I have stayed many times at a different Candlewood locations and never had any similar issues although I normally book that hotel when trip costs are a factor. The location in Jax is definitely a step down in presentation and overall accommodation than the ones I have visited. I would not generalize this to all other locations but will select other places to stay when passing through Jacksonville.

The hotel is old and needs updating. The handicap bathroom floor was always a flood of water since the drain is in the middle of the bathroom. we had to put down towels everywhere for it to be safe. Poor design. Fall and slip hazard for sure. Room smelled musty and unclean. No cleaning sprays were used for sure. Bare minimum cleaning. Pool is tiny barely a pool. No hot tub. No breakfast. Staff was nice.

Well the first room ahead smelled like smoke so they moved me down to the first floor and the second room that they moved me to wasn’t bad, but it had like a cooking, lingering smell, but the housekeeper came in and sprayed it even though it mild, the smell it never fully went away, but other than that, this day is always great

My family and I were leaning towards an Airbnb, but at the last minute we decided to go with the hotel setting, and it was the best thing we could have done. The hotel room was spacious, the beds and the pillows were soft, the staff was friendly, and there were many places within walking distance to grab something to eat. We all came out very happy with Candlewood Suites. I 100% recommend this place.

Very nice. Looked recently remodeled. Very clean. The only thing was a bag of trash in the hallway the first afternoon we got there, and was still there later that evening when we came back to settle in for the night. It could have been done by a guest, but overall no complaints. Very simple, nice small hotel.

This hotel is an extended-stay that is set up and feels like a true extended-stay place. The room was veey spacious to allow space for all your things. The kitchen was full stocked with all of the essentials needed if you had any plans to do any light cooking. Very well planned. Modern and fresh decor. Bathroom had all Dove products (shampoo, conditioner, wash, lotion). Absolutely a lovely place stay in.

I just finished a 5 day stay at the candlewood suites Jacksonville. Great stay, new hotel, all pics are accurate, everything was new and worked correctly. Fyi, since all the rooms have kitchens, they don't serve a breakfast, which was fine by me since I wanted to cook my own food. Will definitely stay there again.

Kitchen had what was needed. Had reservations for 2 beds only had 1 bed and sleeper sofa. Other than that everything was good 👍

Candlewood Suites is a lovely hotel! The suites are quite spacious with abundant leg room. In the lobby, the pantry is well stocked with a good variety of snacks. Behind the front desk, the hotel attendant was friendly and courteous. For these reasons, I highly recommend this hotel.

The stay was great. The kitchen was stocked with all of the latest appliances and dishes. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Nice hotel and was a good location for us. I thought the queen suite had a couch but it didn’t. It did have a table with two chairs and a nice kitchen. The room was nice but didn’t smell fresh but we opened the window and did our Lysol spray and it was fine. Our bathroom needed cleaning and we told the staff and they were there fast and handled it. The bed was fine not too soft or hard. The coffee was fresh in the morning and staff was nice especially the young lady who checked us in. It’s no sidewalks outside of the hotel so you have to walk on the curb/gutter which wasn’t bad because the roads are wide.

First night was loud outside in parking lot and loud in hallway. Staff had loud music coming from room that was maybe being cleaned. They didn't seem bothered by how loud it was outside either. Second night was better. Room was clean and beds were comfortable.

Okay hotel in a pinch. I booked this because of all the comments, and I needed a room with 2 queen beds. Almost every other hotel only had king beds available or were higher in price. The hotel overall was average. I was given a handicap room on the first floor. I asked to have a room on another floor but was told that that was the room I was assigned and they were booked so that's all they could do. While the room was spacious, I had a toddler with me and the shower actually was our biggest problem. Since it was a roll in shower the water came out into the middle of the bathroom and the drain didn't work very well. It was dangerous with our little one because of the standing water in the room. Also, the floors weren't as very clean. The beds were okay not really any complaints about that. My other issue was that we entered one evening through the side door and there was trash piled in the entrance which smelled awful and it was still there the next day. We had a lot of bikers staying there and there was a heavy smell of weed. So while it did for a pinch probably wouldn't stay again.

The check-in process was messed up, I was assured it would be fixed the next day when I left. That was messed up. I spoke with my bank and come to find out they charged me twice for my room and twice for the deposit. I had called them to ask if they could check and see if that’s what happened and they assured me that’s not what happened, but it was indeed what happened. And to be talked to like I didn’t know what I was talking about was insulting to say the least. These people are not friendly or professional. Avoid.

Good service, easy check in and out. Only stayed for one night headed down to Orlando for a cruise. Parking was hectic due to parking lot being paved but otherwise it was great.

The renovations and total look of this hotel is amazing for the price. Even the bean to coffee machine was a nice touch on our stay. The room is equipped with everything you need and its very comfortable. I will be back for a Jaguars game next year is this same Hotel!

There were roaches in our room hair all over our bath towels. When I called down to the front desk she told me she couldn’t switch rooms due to it being fully booked and to talk to the manager in the morning. I did and the manager said she will have to get with Expedia and call me and let me know. I still have not heard back from her. Very poor customer service and dirty hotel. Disappointing and then to not have any compensation is unacceptable!

My first night there the towels had hair on them. I told the front desk, they gave me new clean towels with no hair. The upstairs people made a lot of noise, I told the front desk but nothing happened. When I first walked in bathroom stunk and didn’t seem too clean but the rest of the room was very clean.

The hotel itself was very clean, we were very disappointed because I booked this hotel way in advance for me and my family to accommodate us, and when we got there the front desk clerk tells us that they did not have the room that I chose which was the two queen beds I also called the day before to verify and to go ahead and ask them to take my payment because I chose the option to pay at the property I booked through hotel.com so they blame the issue on me booking through a third party, and which I do not believe I have used hotel.com for years and has always gotten what I booked now in the defense of when you're booking online it may not look exactly like what you chose when you get there but I always got whatever type of room I've asked for I feel like they didn't want to take accountability and then when I demanded that I needed at least the two beds because it was three of us and we do not sleep together one woman and two boys we want what we paid for and booked ,they told us that they could not accommodate that and either I took what you guys had or if I wanted a refund of course it was going to take 7 to 10 days for money to hit back on my card and I was very very disappointed because I saved the money for this trip and if I did not take the room that they had offered we would have had nowhere to stay and we drove 6 Plus hours to get there I feel like they should have at least offered us two rooms to accommodate because again it was not my fault .

Rooms are very noisy you can easily hear people walking and talking thru the walls. We were a late check in and I’m assuming the neighboring room did not like this and proceeded to party. Shouting, and playing loud music and stomping around

Wonderful Came in town for overnight trip .Staff was great close to may things to eat centrally located to Southside , downtown , beaches and westside I would stay again .

Staff went through my meds and luggage, removed them to the office and when i found it missing claimed i never checked in and was a no call no show for my stay, even though i had a key, was obciously in the room and using it. When confronting them my luggage being go through they just wanted to make a big deal about my room being cleaned and fresh. Fresh room doesnt make my meds and luggage being gone through alright.

The property was beautiful and a safe environment, the hotel was updated I love the floor plan with the selfs , and full kitchen and the room was a nice size we felt at home and comfortable, only issue was the bed railing was too big and our mattress kept falling thur on the floor , my husband and I switched rooms 2 times the 3rd room we decided we were not switching because we were tired . The 1st room AC was leaking and it cause a big puddle close to bed . Water was on the floor . My mattress fell down on my side of the bed. So I moved to the center and was able to sleep comfortably, the bed was so soft and comfortable and the pillows I had the best sleep . 💤

The staff is the absolute highlight of this hotel. Every staff member that I interacted with was amazing. Although the hotel states that it’s recently renovated, it didn’t meet my standards. The room itself was filthy, there was pet hair everywhere, I could see visible dirt and dust on the furniture. I arrived at 1am, so I didn’t want to bother the front desk attendant. I always disinfect hotel rooms that I stay in, so I just completed a deeper clean. Also, you have to slam the doors in order for the locks to engage. Overall, great and friendly staff, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

I want to say a big thank you to Noelle and Kristen front desk manager they are both amazing….. So I had an issue and had to do a late check in ( 5:00 am) they saved my room and didn’t cancelled and I think I bothered them so much that he would have killed me but with great attitude and excellent service I had no issue thank you both for an amazing stay especially with a 1 year old baby….. I RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND REMEMBER TO ASK FOR NOELLE AND KRISTEN (front desk manager)

I ended up staying on the second floor which has kitchen. It’s very clean , renovated excellent room. I really enjoyed it. Everything is great however, if you’re staying on the second floor, the third floor is designated for the pet owners and the whole night the person that was on the third floor above my room was walking loud and making noise which kind of disrupted my sleeping for the night. Other than this, the room is excellent . so that was the negative thing that I experienced in my stay.

Everything was great! We left a phone that belonged to my mother who passed away from cancer. It was very special and we thought we would never see it again. We contacted the hotel and it had been turned in!!! They allowed our aunt to stop by and pick up the phone for us because we had made it back to Ga. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Small issue with my room so they moved me to another room which was excellent. Ideal for my needs. :)

Great stay for what I needed. Friendly service and a restaurant just down the road, walking distance plus quiet. Would stay here again for sure.
