Very central location for UCLA activities

Location perfect, rooms big . Will stay again for sure.

Reviews on internet on different sites are not appropriate. It was a okay hotel for a night of hotel stay or if you are coming alone for business stay. But with family and for longer stay, I would not recommend it.

Room was clean, huge with separate living room and nicely equipped kitchen; bedroom with comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. Parking is super tight and difficult to get out of your car if someone parks next to you. Even though the bed is very comfortable I was not able to sleep at all because it was super noisy and smelly from the restaurants AC that was just across the alley from my window. Maybe the other side of the hotel was better and also I’m very light sleeper so for someone else this might have been a 5 star.

Everything was great about our stay. The only exception would be the shower head. It is a rain shower type. It is very high up and directed to the back of the tub, and by the time it hits you, the individual sprays are about 3 inches apart. Meaning by the time it hits me at 5 feet, the spray pattern was weak and not very effective at rinsing. The location is very convenient, easily walkable to appointments at UCLA, restaurants and shopping. They underwent upgrades 2 years ago and the rooms are much nicer, clean and modern. The housekeeping was wonderful. I highly recommend your stay here.

Stay here frequently when in LA and choose it because it’s such a nice place to stay. The rooms and the staff are top notch. The neighborhood is safe and has a lot of convenient shops and restaurants within walking distance. I love the access to public transportation if I want it(close stop to get to airport) and near museums and the botanical gardens.

I travel frequently using Expedia for decades now - and we are always pleased with the results! This stay was no different - even better as staff was helpful on the phone ahead of time, room was well appointed, good size - even a nice balcony, free breakfast plus unusually nice lamps. Had a rare bad experience recently with a Marriott Moxy in Richmond Va (booked direct- so not Expedia’s fault!) & learned that if you’re staying for 2 nights they will absolutely not clean your rm plus awful artwork inc one entirely of cigarette butts right beside our bed. Only downside of Royal Palace in Westwood? front desk had Fox news on right behind their small front check-in desk. Yuck x 100 esp in L.A.

We have a very large vehicle and had to do a ridiculously tight parking maneuver to get into the provided space. It would be useful if the hotel asked about vehicle size in advance, and assigned the front larger spaces to large vehicles, saving the alley squeeze spaces for smaller vehicles.

Nice, well-kept property a short drive from UCLA — very convenient for campus visits. The room had a comfortable bed and was quiet at night, which made for a restful stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Surrounding neighborhood felt decent and safe with a few nearby dining options. Good value for the location.

Close to UCLA. Free parking! Clean, updated rooms. Complimentary coffee, yogurt, cereal and bagels for breakfast. Room with double/queen beds were larger than most small hotel rooms. Great to have a small kitchenette with a sink, microwave & small fridge. Lots of lighting - lamps and ceiling lights. And, lots of mirrors, which really helps when 4 people are getting ready. 1 block from Trader Joe's, Target and Ralph's grocery store.

Was very close to UCLA which is why we stayed there. Breakfast was decent and rooms were fine.

We reported to reception after 1st morning and he literally didn’t care. Asked us next morning and we said it was terrible again. Literally just shrugged at us. Won’t be returning, I’d suggest asking for a room at the back of the hotel if you plan to stay here.

Have stayed at this property many times over the years Excellent location in the heart of Westwood and walkable to many restaurants and UCLA. Also, free parking. Don't find that at many hotels. The also have done a nice job renovating.

Lots was good, well staffed front desk, room was spacious and quiet and modern. Breakfast had many choice, mostly cold prepared stuff. Free parking. The big downside was the wifi strength was poor. We were on the second floor in the middle of the building but the quality was very spotty.

Great location in Westwood, very walkable to UCLA with large rooms on a quiet street. The breakfast is quite decent. Only complaint I have is that the WIFI was not very good and TV is not smart, so couldn't stream shows.

On the third floor and elevator was broken the whole time. Pancake maker broke after 1st day. Bed was comfy. Balcony was nice and more spacious then regular room with handy frig and microwave with little dinette. Shower subpar.

Housekeeping and the front desk staff were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout my stay. The parking is a bit tight with smaller spaces, but once I got the hang of it, it was manageable. The neighborhood felt clean and safe, and the hotel is located just a five-minute walk to Trader Joe’s and Target. That made it easy to grab groceries and save money by not eating out as much. The fridge and microwave in the room were also a big plus. I’d absolutely stay here again.

Great staff, room is clean and spacious, love the extra sink in the room and not just the one in the restroom. Table with chairs are great accommodations for eating and socializing.

Not fancy but clean rooms (suites and mini suites are great), good service and free parking (tight so not recommended for anything larger than a midsize suv). Can walk everywhere from here including ucla campus and lots of restaurants. Overall good value for Westwood and I recommend it.

The room was so nice and spacious, but the bed was not most plush and a bit thin. The bathroom was a bit small but definitely doable. The parking was different as they were 8 spots not in the alley way but you need to leave your keys at the front desk since parking is stacked but this is normal for this area. If the bed was better it would easily be a 10/10

Really friendly front desk. Free parking (a little tight), free fast wifi and free breakfast. Room was clean and offered a small fridge and microwave, a balcony with table and chairs. Area surrounding is safe and a close drive to Rodeo Dr/Beverly Hills.

It’s a bit confusing because it feels like the experience depends on luck at check-in. Some of the older rooms definitely need updates.

Pros: very near UCLA's campus. The hotel offers free shuttles to the UCLA medical center as well. Complimentary breakfast was better than expected. Cons: attached is a picture from my room. Was this at high noon in the middle of summer with that much light coming through the curtain??? Nope, that was in the middle of the night. I tried to find a light switch to turn of the patio lights and there is not one. I called the front desk and they said that they said that the lights have to stay on to light the alleyway. These were very bright lights. Next, the parking spots were very small. If you end up renting a car, be aware that the parking spot are a bit precarious. Overall a good experience but if you like to sleep in total darkness like I do, maybe consider a different hotel.

Mini fridge was a good temp. No freezer section. Coffee maker is the kind to brew a single cup from a filter bag. Didn’t use the TV, microwave, room safe or patio. Only grabbed an orange and granola bar from breakfast. Checked in right at 3pm on purpose to get a self-park space. Tight but okay for mid size sedan. No way an SUV, minivan or super duty truck would fit! Friday night in LA you’d expect late activity but only heard guests in hall 11 pm. Some dude screaming his head off out on the street before 8 am though. Glad to be on upper floor! Hammer Museum an easy block walk. UCLA campus under a mile.

On the positive side, the location is great if you have kids attending UCLA and are there for a visit. Most of the hotels in the area are very upscale and very expensive so I was looking for a option that was around 200 and the Royal delivered. Check-in was easy parking was tight but part of the cost of the room which was nice on the downside …. The bed was terribly worn out. I had to sleep sideways on the bed. I felt like meat in a taco. I woke up very itchy, which leads me to believe that there must be bedbugs. The free breakfast definitely was free and upon entry to the room that was very small and claustrophobic. I opted for Starbucks down the street. The good news is there’s lots of decent food options within a block or two outside of the bad bed and the homeless scrimmage at 7 AM outside the hotel everything was great.

Nice and convenient hotel which has the free on-site parking just around the building. It has complimentary breakfast as well!

I believe this is a newly renovated hotel. Our suite is spacious and comfortable, with very quiet and comfortable furnishings. The room service was quick and the staff was friendly. I will definitely be back next time.

they fit a lot into a small area here. the location is good (near freeway and a bunch of interesting restaurants) and the room was surprisingly spacious. parking is tight around the side or double stacked in front, but it's free and the front desk can valet the cars in front so the system works. everything was clean and comfortable, all in all a great stay

This is a solid 3 star hotel. Rooms are very clean with windows that open, parking is free (although, can be tricky, breakfast is self serve basics, however, there are plenty of walkable restaurants, staff is friendly and helpful, UCLA is 5 minutes away.

Great stay in the heart of Westwood close to everything we needed including UCLA. Parking is tight if you have an SUV but it worked out fine for us. Will definitely visit again.

I showed up at the Royal Palace with my back completely thrown out while on a solo roadtrip and was very moved by the staff's kindness. They helped me get into my room early so I could lie down, and when it unexpectedly got much worse they helped me extend my stay and even brought me a fork when my food delivery was missing one! I will absolutely be back and especially recommend the Royal Palace to anyone dealing with medical stuff or disabilities. They were so understanding and nice which made a scary situation much less stressful. Thank you all!!

Single night stay to drop off UCLA son. The room was clean and spacious, nicely quiet for a good night's rest. The next day, I planned to do some work before checking out at 12 pm (the required time). The cleaning woman knocked on the door at 10am "oh sorry" but then came back again half an hour later. Lady, check out isn't until noon, why you keep bugging me? Finally put the do not disturb sign on the door, realized should've done that in the beginning, but have never had this happen before.

Told building bath was so bad bf was not good wait 2 hr for water to drain

I like the place

Parking space is very small. Staff might have to move your car depending on where you park. Room temperature was uncomfortable upon walking into it. took about an hour for the room to cool down. There were several internet connectivity issues. Maybe they need to upgrade the bandwidth and speed.

Very clean rooms. The cleaning crew is doing a great job. Big rooms. Good breakfast which you can take to your room as there is a dining table and four chairs. Parking is ok.

Wasn’t until I had checked in and paid that I was informed there was no elevator. Normally not an issue but after my transplant could not stay the extra night as I was not allowed to climb stairs. (We were reimbursed) Mini suite was ok but not as nice as the last one we stayed in. Parking is tight but doable. Nice having a Dennys next door.

Relaxing suite (essentially a 1 bedroom apartment with kitchenette). Nice and quite, with a balcony with a couple of chairs and nice shade from trees.

Bottom line, there’s nothing royal about this hotel. And to pay over $400 a night is ridiculous.

There is a small elevator tight for 2 people with luggages. The elevator is slow and makes noises. The property seems recently renovated and kept clean.

Central location to shopping, restaurants and University of California Los Angeles.

This was a pleasant surprise. We stayed in the mini suite, and the first impression overall was good. Rooms were clean and spacious. Separate bedroom. Small kitchenette with table and chairs. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is that the room wasn’t ready at check-in. Parking is tandem so if you park behind you need to leave your key at the front desk. Well worth it. Will definitely stay here again!

Check in was quick. Parking was easy. Pillows too much lumpy stuffing (all 4 of them), bring your own. Our room was dark. Bathroom was very cramped/small. Room and bathroom were clean. Nice to have a fridge. Bottom sheet on bed was inside out (that was a first). Room was dated with dark carpet and dark brown floor to ceiling curtains across the entire back wall. It was quiet and overall it was eh, for the price paid

Great location. Perfect for my needs. Walkable to food and entertainment and stores. The elevator is the only odd aspect. It would sometimes go down then back up to the floor you started at without opening at the lobby.

Elevator was difficult for my partner to navigate with his scooter. Very small and didn’t work well. Should put handicapped on ground floor.

Location is excellent for touring UCLA. Our double queen was good sized, with a microwave and mini fridge and sink, but no dishes or silverware. The bathroom was tiny.

Loved this hotel. Very nice staff, great area with lots of restaurants and shops (Westwood). Cute area. Will stay here all the time if my daughter goes to UCLA. I was giving the room across from the ice machine and staff room. It was extremely noise in the morning, especially when the staffs started their shifts! However, it is extremely convenience to UCLA!

Great location for UCLA Medical Center. I received an upgraded large room. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and the balcony was nice. The parking situation was tight, but workable.

I came in for business at UCLA. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the facility was clean and comfortable.

We only stayed for one night because I had an appt at UCLA the next day. Nice place and nice room, but the parking is limited and crowded. We would stay here again though. They have breakfast too!

The price for the room is unbeatable. Not the fanciest by any means, but comfortable and clean. Parking is a pain, but it's free, so I can't complain about that. Just be prepared to park in very tight, narrow spaces.

Its appearance and comfort, cleniness, and excellent location make it an excellent value. IT IS A REFURBISHED SMALL THREE STORY HOTEL THE ROOMS ARE NOT HUGE BUT ARE FULLY EQUIPED AND NICELY APPOINTED AND VERY QUIET. THE ONLY DOWSIDE WAS THE PARKING WHICH IS TIGHT BUT IT WORKED AND IT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. THERE ARE PLACES TO EAT IN WALKING DISTANCE. IT IS A GREAT VALUE.
