Reviews
Guests generally enjoy their stay at this hotel, appreciating its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. However, some guests have issues with noise, either from the street or from other guests, and some find the breakfast offerings to be limited.
- Cleanliness
- Comfortable beds
- Noise issues
- Limited breakfast

This was our second stay here. We find the rooms comfortable and staff very friendly. The breakfast is great and the courtyard very pleasant. The only item to note is that the hotel is on Santa Monica Blvd. and depending on the location of your room you will have some street noise, but that didn't really bother us. We will definitely stay here again.

We loved staying at Olivia Hotel so much! We loved everything about the hotel: the convenient, perfect location, lovely, friendly staff, cleanliness, breakfast, gym, fireplace, coffee machine, bathrobes, filtered water, flowers and scent - everything was perfect! We are from Australia - here there’s always a kettle in hotel rooms though, it might be different in the US. The hotel is almost brand new, it’s just one year old. We also loved the cafe and the view across the street - the wonderful California Temple. We liked the Sprouts farmers’ market nearby and the fact that the hotel is so close to our place of interest in LA. Thank you so much for your hospitality once again! Kind regards, Olena

Place was nice, but rooms are quite small.
- 5/5
Amazing breakfast and afternoon drinks included
- 5/5
We stayed for a week. Great location for walking, bus, Uber. Lots of attractions nearby. We especially liked the morning breakfast. It’s more Urban and high traffic than we were used to, but we enjoyed the vibe. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
EVEYONE (Omar the manager, Kathy and the rest of the staff) were all wonderfully nice and would go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome and pampered. Great amenities and property for the value (considering it’s LA) Definitely recommend!
- 5/5
It was a quick overnight stay, but the Olivia was a cute place to stay. We enjoyed the boutique feel of the property.
- 5/5
This was my second time staying at The Olivia and staff, rooms, and location was all ideal for me. The area is very quiet at night which is nice in a city. Will be coming back every time I need to stay in this area!
- 5/5
New updated property, very clean with excellent staff service.
- 5/5
Perfect for what we needed.
- 5/5
The Olivia Hotel is a boutique European-style hotel. It appears to have been a roadside motel back in the day of Route 66 but it has been completely and tastefully remodeled to provide an excellent experience and a good value in the expensive Los Angeles hotel market. The free breakfast was outstanding. There is a choice of about a half dozen dishes and all were cooked to order and were delicious, on a par with what you would get in a nice breakfast restaurant. The hotel's location is great. The area is very safe and it is a short drive to UCLA, Beverly Hills, or Santa Monica. I would definitely stay at the Olivia Hotel again.
- 5/5
The room was perfect and the staff were great. The stay was amazing, loved the robes.
- 5/5
Awesome staff, location, and the hotel was very clean. Had a great time and would book again. Had an excellent experience!
- 1/5
Very old hotel needs to be renovated and update beds are small price very expensive for what you get.
- 5/5
Very nice quaint hotel. Super impressed. I was not expecting it to be as nice as it was. Only downside is the parking is horrible. And there is lots of homeless around but in the LA area that’s normal anymore. Let’s hope that Pratt gets in as Mayor and changes this place around.
- 4/5
Very nicely remodeled, with a beautiful courtyard for relaxing. Not having an elevator was the main drawback, staying on the 2nd floor. Breakfast was very limited to a few menu selections, but was good. Overall, a very nice place to stay.
- 5/5
Very cute place! Breakfast cafe is a great benefit. Rooms are adequate and on point. Great snack options in room. I like the quaintness and outdoor shared patio.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel for the price! The free breakfast was phenomenal and restaurant style, different from typical buffet at hotels. All staff members were very friendly and helpful. Free drinks from 3-5 each day was also a great perk we didn’t originally know about! The room was very new, modern, and clean with ample space for two. Couldn’t recommend more.
- 5/5
Clean room with modern fixtures.
- 5/5
The free breakfast and coffee were excellent and the staff was very attentive. I had no issues with my room and loved all of the outlets provided. I would stay here again.
- 4/5
Room was clean and ac worked well. Did not manage to stay for breakfast as I had an early start.
- 5/5
Love the breakfast!

Warning! Fraudulent practice! Make sure to check your receipt carefully as they will add random charges on your bill. I stayed in the hotel for two nights, for the record the room was clean and the whole check-in process was smooth. It did not hold until checking out, the hotel promised that the receipt will be mailed within 1 hour after the check-out, which did not happen. I have to call in and request for it. The manager sent the receipt but I found there were repetitive charges including nuts and snacks on my invoice. For the record I did not even touch any of those, but they charged me multiple times just to show how greedy they are. I called the hotel and asked for refund but the manager was very defensive and tried to explain that the charges are valid due to the fact I consumed them. I asked them for proof and asked to talk to the staff cleaning the room then they suddenly changed the tone of response and reluctantly issue the refund and generate a new receipt. I don't know how many victims actually suffered from their fraudulent practice as I knew that if I didn't travel on the business trip, I probably wouldn't even check the line items on the receipt. Dishonesty on the management is very concerning and I'll recommend avoiding this hotel before they put their criminal practice on you or any future travelers.
- 5/5
Rooms clean, breakfast nice, hallway outside room needs cleaning
- 4/5
Daily happy hour was awesome
- 5/5
Very clean staff are helpful and the food was cracking.
- 3/5
The staff was super nice. Theh moved my room after first placing me faint Santa Monica blvd as it was super loud. When I got to my new room I did find two hairs on the bedding. I was too tired to complain and move again. Also both rooms had a very funky bleach smell. Now my clothes that k wore to bed smell like that which is concerning. Not sure what the smell is but it is significant. The room was nice, updated. Great for a quick stay but the smell and hairs are not ok.
- 3/5
This motel is conveniently located in a trendy area of Beverly Hills. They had a sturdy security gate to serve as a barrier between rooms and the street. The air conditioner & large screen TV worked great. They serve a pretty decent complimentary breakfast in the morning that offers 3 or 4 different options. They also offer a complementary beer or wine in the evening to get you rolling during happy hour. The towels are decent quality for this class of motel. The only real negative, and it was a big one, was the bathroom. They need serious makeovers, especially the shower. It has a rainforest spout overhead that pours directly down on you, and a one-of-a-kind wand that's absolutely ridiculous. It's a 9" x 1.5" x .5" chrome-plated rectangle stick that gently dribbles water onto your body when activated at high pressure. The shower provides hotel shampoo, conditioner and bodywash, but no counter or spot to place bar soap or shaving accessories. You either had to hold it in your hand or place it on the floor. They also charge $33 a night to park on their property. Why did I stay here? Because the price was well within my budget and upscale convenient location. Would I stay here again? If they changed the shower wands to be more functional it would be a no-brainer. Otherwise I will keep it as an option.
- 5/5
Great location close to UCLA campus.
- 3/5
They’re clearly trying at this charming boutique hotel, but the traffic noise from Santa Monica Blvd. and Highland Avenue is overwhelming and loud at night even with earplugs in. If they can figure out a way to reduce the road noise, this is a must stay.
- 4/5
Breakfast was made to order. Staff was friendly. Property is new and nice. Would stay here again
- 5/5
Great breakfast options.
- 5/5
Clean room, very friendly staff. Extensive breakfast included. And they used my Expedia credit for parking charge. Nice.
- 4/5
Staffs were super nice
- 5/5
Absolutely loved this hotel. I know it was renovated from what most likely was a motel before, but it does not matter. The rooms were super clean and you had everything you would need. The front desk receptionist (two separate people I have dealt with) were both great and friendly. The breakfast was amazing-nothing you would find at other hotels, especially the more "budget friendly" ones. Two breakfast items and a drink are included. You can add more items or upgrade a drink a pay a price, but it was not outrageous. The courtyard was very nice and a pleasure to sit at. Parking can be a little difficult, but definitely not something I would give less stars for. I honestly cannot say anything bad about this place and I am quite a bit picky coming from working in the hotel industry (Marriott) in the past. If we were to go back to LA, I definitely would stay here again.
- 4/5
Very safe and convenient Only issue was traffic noise from Santa Monica blvd - bring your ear plugs and white noise Overall, great place
- 5/5
Loved this hotel! Everyone who works here is super helpful. No complaints at all. The breakfast was outstanding. Will definitely come back!
- 5/5
Clean room, though the wet carpet from the very recent cleaning made the room incredibly humid. Lovely courtyard. Great included breakfast options —very fresh!
- 5/5
Thank you
- 2/5
Pictures make it look cute and nice. I hate to say this but I would not come back. Walked in to the room smelling like cover up of smoke or not sure how to explain the smell. Also I did not care to look up about parking thinking it was a nice hotel but your car will be parked in back alley which he mentioned they have security but not sure how secure that would be if you have your nice car parked back there.
- 5/5
The room was clean, staff was friendly and complimentary breakfast was great.
- 5/5
Staff was great. Breakfast was really good and included. Parking was good. The only problem was no elevator, and the stairs to the second floor were hard for me. If you have bad knees, ask for a room on the first floor. The neighborhood is commercial, but I felt safe as an 80 yo woman alone. I'm usually a fancy hotel person, so I was very happy to find the Olivia.
- 5/5
Reviews were spot on. Clean, good location, and nice rooms. I did hear road noise but prepared for that in advance by bringing ear plugs. Slept great. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
Have stayed here twice - both times were a pleasure. The staff is very helpful and inviting. Also very flexible, helping me check out early when my plans changed last-minute. Complimentary breakfast is simple but satisfying and the coffee is very good. Courtyard is great to work from during the day and pleasant at night with the fire pit. I plan to return in the future.
- 5/5
Clean room.. friendly staff..good breakfast.. quiet
- 5/5
Nice breakfast choices. Good outdoor patio for eating or relaxing. Some traffic noise.
- 5/5
Breakfast was tasty. Rooms were small but clean and bed was comfortable. Highly recommend
- 5/5
Lovely hotel! Loved the
- 5/5
The room was clean and well appointed. Staff greeted us, had our reservation available, told us about the hotel and directed us to the room and parking areas. Breakfast was really good. Lots of choices, nicely served. Great location near Century City and Beverly Hills.
- 1/5
In truth I never saw the room. I never checked in. I have a disabilitt that prevents me feom climbing stairs. There is no elevator and when I realized it i told the woman at the front desk I could not check in. We both looked and did not see that there was no elevator clearly explained. She sais my stay woukd be refunded. They charged me one night without me checking in or handing over my card even. Unacceptable!
- 5/5
The rainfall shower was relaxing, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing!
- 5/5
Breakfast was wonderful! The outside sitting area was perfect for us. The room was comfortable and clean. No lotion in the room but we asked and they delivered happily. Not much in the area to walk to but we very much enjoyed our time at the Olivia hotel.
- 5/5
A tasty breakfast with several options is offered, great coffee. Available parking was a plus. Would highly recommend.
- 4/5
All was well except for noise in room next to street. Very noisy all night.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Helpful and friendly staff. Great place to stay.
- 5/5
Guests can also enjoy added perks like on-site parking, a complimentary breakfast to start the day, and a free happy hour where drinks are included beer is even available until 8 PM, which is a nice touch. Overall, it’s a well-rounded hotel that combines comfort, convenience, and great service, making it a solid choice whether you’re visiting for business or leisure.
- 4/5
Best breakfast. Clean and nice in room. Close to highway and has a bit of a motel feel but overall was great.
- 5/5
Great stay. Rooms are immaculate, the free breakfast is absolutely delicious, and the staff was great. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Rooms are immaculate with modern design. Delicious breakfast, friendly staff, and on-site parking was easily accessible. The place is super cute; would definitely go back.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel! Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, breakfast was delicious and the outside area is beautiful and relaxing.
- 5/5
Room was clean. It was a bit tight in the coffee prep area. Breakfast was ok. Since the location is on a busy street, expect noise from traffic. Overall, ok.
- 4/5
One thing that was a real shocker was the parking. Plenty of parking, however, the hotel is charging $30+tax per night for parking. After paying a pretty penny for the hotel, being charged $33 for parking is sort of unacceptable. Would be nice to have free parking or at least a reasonably priced one.
- 5/5
Great redo of an old fashioned motel….with all the modern updates you could ask for. Very comfortable in a terrific location.
- 3/5
I would not stay here again as its basically a motel off a very busy street. Someone was hanging outside their room smoking as we checked in 2 doors down. Otherwise, it really is a nice setup.
- 5/5
Very nice clean room in the heart of Westwood, Front desk lady was awesome.
- 5/5
Cafe area and breakfast is great! Rooms are basic and well equipped. Staff are all very kind. Price is fair and location is walkable to shopping and restaurants. Gym is tiny, but there was never anyone else there so it was fine.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend!
- 5/5
Wonderfully updated old motel with new fixtures, great bed and bedding, robes, lighting, etc. in a great location.
- 4/5
Good hotel. Nice that breakfast was included. Bed was comfortable
- 5/5
Centrally located to shops restaurants etc. very nice hotel and breakfast was delicious. Good options. I suggest at least one other menu item change day to day so that the menu is not the same although it was good.
- 5/5
Clean, quiet room in great location. Nice amenities and yummy breakfast. Staff are pleasant and accommodating.
- 5/5
Honestly we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Room was fantastic. Courtyard was such a nice rest spot, cafe and breakfast was great. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Hotel is in a nice area and pretty quiet despite the proximity to road traffic.
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 5/5
Close proximity to many locations. Very friendly and clean environment.
- 5/5
Better quality, friendlier staff, and better price than big chains in the area.
- 5/5
I also appreciated the little touches: there was water available in the room as well as a refill station, plus snacks available for guests. Breakfast was excellent and a great way to start the day. During my stay I needed something printed, and the staff was quick to help with that, which I really appreciated. Although the hotel is close to the highway, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t hear much noise at all. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with great service. I would definitely stay here again. Also, they have a social hour with a complimentary drink!
- 5/5
Very nice 😊
- 3/5
Nice and clean, v comfortable bed. But it’s a nice motel not a hotel and so you can hear Santa Monica blvd from within the room
- 5/5
Great location. Excellent service.
- 5/5
Covenient, nice, clean and staff were friendly
- 5/5
Very nice location and property. Definitely recommend.
- 1/5
It is near everything but it is a $75 dollar a motel that put on some nake up and charges a $ 249+ a night the room are tiny what you see on hotels.com is not what you get
- 5/5
Great locations and very clean hotel. Staff professional and very friendly.
- 4/5
Good for one night.
- 5/5
The only negative was huge traffic noise. Bring ear plugs or a fan.
- 5/5
Great breakfast!
- 5/5
Clean well appointed rooms and very comfortable place. Always a very nice relaxing stay.
- 5/5
Very neat, clean and elegant place to stay, very confortable, and very accommodating staff
- 5/5
We loved our stay and will be back. Your staff is lovely. The only suggestion I would have is to have a few premium wines for sale by the glass for a higher price.
- 5/5
Staff amazingly friendly & helpful / security on site made me feel safe / extremely clean rooms & site clean with beautiful landscape / & dining experience wonderful.
- 4/5
The rooms were very clean with nice amenities. The location is excellent if your plans are around the Beverly Hills/ Santa Monica area. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Great location, about a 10-15 minute ride to so many different attractions!
- 5/5
Perfect for what it is: a rehabbed motel in a busy part of West LA. Friendly staff, clean rooms and great coffee in the morning. A little on the pricey side, but it’s West LA so it goes with the territory. Would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Breakfast is very good. Good parking
- 5/5
Great staff and great rooms! The included breakfast was a nice touch.
- 5/5
Reception desk was very helpful with our delays in arrival. Lovely rooms and great breakfast options.
- 4/5
The hotel itself was very nice, clean and modern. It was in a great location and the staff were super friendly. Great breakfast as well. The only downside was that both mornings we experienced cold water during showers, however the hotel was receptive to our feedback.
- 5/5
Great location, very nicely retrofitted property.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Great amenities. Breakfast was great. No gym, but enjoyed my stay. Bed was very comfortable.
- 5/5
Great location, clean/stylish room, easy parking, above-average breakfast options. I would stay here again.

- 5/5
The Olivia hotel was very nice. The staff was very warm, professional and helpful. The room was spotless and spacious. The location is good and the breakfast was excellent.
- 5/5
Staff are super nice, room was clean and had everything you need. And the Hotel is in a great location.
- 4/5
Super nice staffk
- 5/5
Clean room. Great service. The welcome drink and free breakfast were appreciated.
- 5/5
Wonderful place and atmosphere.
- 5/5
I love this hotel very accessible in everything
- 5/5
Staff very friendly…amenities such as fire pit, social hour with complimentary wine, upscale complimentary breakfast…Easy access to freeways
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 4/5
A few tips: The hotel is on a busy road; there may be road noise. It's maybe two blocks away from a homeless encampment. It might be temporary, but just advising that it may be there. This is a motel style with doors to the outside. The building is surrounded by metal fencing with a keypad lock on the door. However when you leave the hotel, the door doesn't automatically close behind you (might need to fix that). I saw two security guards on property -- good, but also tells you that they are needed. The building is unfortunately old despite very newly renovated rooms so my room had a musty smell. The lower rooms don't get much daylight. There is limited parking but don't be discouraged when you see the main lot; there are dedicated parking spots on three sides of the hotel. The bathrooms could use additional hooks on the walls for towels.
- 5/5
Lovely staff, fantastic breakfast, highly recommend
- 5/5
Our room was a bit small, but it was comfortable and clean. The people who served us during our stay—the concierge, the cleaning folks, & above all the cafe staff—were outstanding, very professional in their work and a delight to deal with.
- 3/5
It was ok. Room was fine/clean. Nice having breakfast incl. The breakfast staff were very nice. Check in employee was pretty brusque and not very friendly. Check out seemed fine but then I had to call the next day for the receipt bc it was never sent to me. Lots of other places in the area are in the same price range and might offer a better overall experience.
- 5/5
Everything was clean, staff were friendly, but highlights were reading by the fire circle in the beautiful patio, and fabulous breakfasts.
- 5/5
Everyone here was so nice and helpful common and polite beyond words. The mattress I slept on was so comfortable. The included breakfast the next day and coffee were so good. I am staying here in another two weeks and can’t wait to come back. this is a lovely little gem of a hotel!
- 5/5
Great place... extremely friendly staff clean quiet.. And well located.
- 5/5
Great. Place. Great value
- 5/5
Room was spotless
- 5/5
Fast friendly
- 3/5
The room was nice, but there was a lot of street noise all night long due to the property being right next to Santa Monica BLVD. Did not sleep much that night.
- 5/5
Really nice room. Quik Uber to get to many places. Safe location. Good breakfast. Nice staff.
- 5/5
This is a pretty nice hotel! Its newly opened so everything is clean and brand new. The lady that checked us in was really nice. Its simple to get to. The court yard is nice, the rooms are nice. I would definitely stay here again😊
- 5/5
The food was really good. Everything great except the King Room was too small for 2 people. No room for 2 suitcases or other travel items. The dog didn’t really take up any room because he’s tiny. The bed was comfortable as well and we loved the modern touches and ambiance.
- 5/5
It was a charming place to stay. The staff was amazing and we loved the breakfast. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Great little spot. We will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Very nice fresh made healthy breakfast. Extremely polite and friendly staff. Easy parking and clean modern rooms. Truly a bright spot in today’s world of not all ways pleasant. Exceeding expectations thank you
- 4/5
Everything was great- clean room, nice location, great breakfast and friendly staff. Only issue is the room heater/cooler had an odor. Would stay again.
- 5/5
The best hotel boutique i have been to.
- 5/5
Breakfast was quick and tasty. Staff friendly and followed through. Parking a little odd. Room was clean.
- 2/5
Room was room small for the price. Its new but probably won't stay like that because the people who stay there. Leave trash outside doors. People next door to us were loud and obnoxious, definitely more than 2 people staying there. Wasn't able to rest. Most likely not returning.
- 5/5
Excellent!!! Clean, bed comfortable, staff very kind! I recommend it!
- 5/5
Quite even right close to the main road. Good breakfast and new facilities
- 5/5
With absolutely amazed with the room and the service from Kathy at the front desk. Would recommend absolutely.
- 5/5
great customer service and awesome rooms
- 5/5
MInimalist room; appreciated the lovely breakfast. It was quiet despite being close to the street. Howevr, the bed could have been more comfortable.
- 5/5
The room was extremely clean, staff was very nice, and the breakfast was delicious! I didnt understand how to use the thermostat. The staff was kind enought to come over and show me. I was just doing a mommy stayacation. It was nice enough to do the job.
- 3/5
Great staff, nice room, but super loud gate.
- 5/5
Great Breakfast, Great Staff & LOVELY room !
- 5/5
The only thing I would mention is this is very much like a motel style that’s been renovated so you get a lot of street noise coming from the door it’s not your typical hotel room.
- 5/5
Included breakfast options far superior (fresher, healthier, tastier) than any other included breakfast. Staff exceptional. Rooms new, beautiful. Great stay. Will be back. Best-kept secret… not for long ;)
- 3/5
The staff was courteous, but they charged $100 for my pet.
- 4/5
Good hotel, clean and in a nice location.
- 5/5
Booked the Olivia Hotel to explore and tour the Beverly Hills area. This quaint boutique hotel did not disappoint. Staff are friendly and courteous, and the room and surrounding areas are clean. We loved the fire pit, and the breakfast was great!
- 4/5
We love that breakfast was included.
- 5/5
The Olivia Hotel is a hidden gem in Los Angeles. The staff is incredible, the service is off the charts, the food is delicious and the rooms are super nice. It's literally an oasis!
- 5/5
The staff was friendly, the property was well kept and the room was very clean.
- 5/5
Second time stay at the Olivia. The check-in was easy, the room was clean, and the location is great.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
The room was nice and clean, and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious and not the standard continental breakfast. We had quiche and lox and bagel. Additional items are also well priced.
- 4/5
The hotel was nice nothing wrong with the hotel. It was just the staff only problem I had is the lady at the front desk was rude other than that I would rate it five stars.
- 1/5
There's no room service. I asked for tooth paste and basic things but they tell you to get it from the front desk since "there's only one staff in the entire hotel" and they have to be at the front desk. This is not good practice, as honeslty holiday inn express at the very least will deliver things to your room and its twice as cheap
- 5/5
The bedding and breakfast truly stood out. What a wonderful stay. We will always stay here when in the area.
- 5/5
Very nice staff . Cozy atmosphere.
- 4/5
Pleasant, friendly and clean. Breakfast meager but tasty. Mini bar prices reasonable. We didnt have a car and there was no alternative VIP benefit offered. Room had all necessary amenities. Only problem was that AC unit made loud odd noises all night.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable
- 5/5
Really enjoyed our 3-night stay. Room was clean, comfortable, had good lighting (many hotels don’t), and the bed was comfortable too. The included breakfasts are fantastic (overnight oats! Lox and bagel!). One night a hotel employee knocked on our door to tell us we’d left our car’s interior light on. Really happy they caught that and went to the trouble of letting us know. We plan to stay there again.
- 5/5
Great breakfast, friendly staff, good location.
- 5/5
Great hotel and fabulous complimentary breakfast choices
- 4/5
Spotless
- 5/5
Would highly recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
Stay was good
- 5/5
Quality set up
- 5/5
Very clean, the courtyard is very inviting and great happy hour.
- 4/5
Check the strength of hot water in room 207.
- 5/5
Breakfast was good, the room was clean and staff was very friendly. The beds are a bit soft and springy for my liking and your door is to an open walk that is gated but this is a motel like set up with no internal space. We didn’t mind at all and it is secure with the gating.
- 5/5
Staff, reception, clean room. Everything was great.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff and amenities. Clean, stylish room.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Cleanliness
- 5/5
Our room was very nice, the only thing we wished we had was a microwave. However, we would definitely book this hotel again.
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable
- 5/5
The room is nice and clean. However it does not have an elevator which is a little more work to carry up the luggage. The ground floor room feels a little too close to the street
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Great staff, nice and new, modern
- 5/5
Food-light breakfast to start day/cost part of fee with additional options at extra cost. I stayed 4 mornings and had various pairings. Was not around for afternoon refreshments 3-5 pm Room- cleaned daily though a little inconsistent on what was cleaned, towels changed daily. Fridge narrow but deep. Closet same. Only one area for suitcase so had to put another on rolling chair. It would be nice to have at least one towel hook in the bathroom instead of in the entryway. Liked the glass water carafe and cups. Also outside drinking dispenser for thermos. Gym is small but workable. It has only free weights, balls, yoga mat, 1-bicycle and 1 treadmill. Floor is all rubber so smells. I opened window but didn't really help. Quiet. Patrons were all pleasant. Had patio with firepits in evening. Came with party of 5 and all said they would return.
- 5/5
The hotel was great! Had a very nice stay. The rooms are clean and just like the pictures. Great and safe area too
- 5/5
Above my expectations, for sure. Thoughtfully appointed room, quiet, luxurious. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff, great location. Clean comfortable! Modern updates.
- 5/5
Comfortable and affordable Clean an easy Not luxury - small room And no pool Very mind and attentive staff
- 5/5
The room was clean and really new. The complimentary breakfast was amazing and delicious, especially the coffee. The social gatherings that they have was awesome. Everything was so good here and will definitely come back again.
- 5/5
Food is very clean and healthy. Parking is a little pricey but its a safe area.

The room was very clean and comfortable! The staff was so nice and accommodating especially the housekeeping! Parking was easy but pricey but all is in LA. The breakfast could improve bc there were not alot of options. The beds were so comfortable and the shower and products were perfect!

Pleasant stay. Very nice and helpful staff

Staff was wonderful, breakfast was amazing.
- 5/5
Smooth check in, well appointed rooms, easy parking.

The Olivia is a small, friendly hotel with clean and well-decorated rooms and a nice outdoor area to eat or just hang out. The breakfast offerings are tasty, nutritious, and well presented. The only drawback is the constant traffic noise due to its location on Santa Monica Blvd. Having said that, I will definitely stay again.

Great breakfast, happy hour, fire pit with comfortable seating. Although on a busy street it was quiet and private. Close to the Getty, just off the highway.
- 5/5
Everything was great. We stayed for one night and totally recommend it
- 5/5
The rooms were well maintained and very clean. The breakfast was small protions but very good. The staff was helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
Super clean, new and I love the bright lighting in the room. We stayed for 3 nights and had a great night. Having water filling station was nice too. The breakfast options were great. We ate at the outside seatings every morning. Delicious croissant. Would definitely come back again.
- 4/5
Very cute space, nicely decorated. Bathroom shower could use an update. Everyone friendly. Great breakfast!
- 5/5
The room was well thought out, very comfortable. We enjoyed the water pitcher and glasses. Breakfast was charming and delicious - our favorites were the yogurt and granola and croissants. Would definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
Bad points - if you come off the freeway it's a bit unsavoury, go with it - it gets better near the hotel and then beyond. No lift but staff will take cases up if required. Minor points, don't let that put you off. Overall - 100% would stay here again, does what it says on the tin. It's a great concept! Well done Olivia!!
- 5/5
Cutest hotel I’ve stayed at in a while. The room was so cozy, the inner courtyard was absolutely beautiful, the Olivia Cafe was the perfect breakfast stop before a busy day. We especially loved the nightly fire pit with the chilly California night. I couldn’t recommend more.
- 5/5
The hotel is in a prime location. The room was clean but if you are a light sleeper room 231 is not for you. Too close to the road. Breakfast is good with simple choices and included in the room rate. Also it has a lovely terrace. I will go back but in a room away from Santa Monica.
- 5/5
Beautiful and modern.
- 4/5
Front desk and restaurant staff are all welcoming and helpful. Loved the fresh fruit parfait and coffee at breakfast. Mattress was soft and my family was fine with it. All in all, a great stay.
- 5/5
Excellent service from all staff, nicely renovated and well-appointed rooms, lovely breakfast served tableside with actual stoneware and flatware (not disposable). The dining patio is charming, but some shrubbery along the street side would go a long way toward reducing the traffic noise.
- 5/5
Pleasant stay with helpful staff. Very quiet even with busy traffic on Wilshire (night time). Highly recommend the Tuscan Sun down the street, incredible Bakery items, world class.
- 5/5
Staff! Clean, well-planned room. Breakfast is very good and it's pet-friendly.
- 2/5
Extremely noisy, very loud Street noise I don't know if they had single pane windows or what but I can barely sleep also it was $30 for parking which is ridiculous when you're paying already over $200 for the room
- 5/5
So cute highly recommend!
- 5/5
Very lovely hotel that’s super quiet and conveniently located!
- 5/5
Great value for location. Easy to park and checkin. They do require a $100 incidental hold on your credit card. Unused balance refunded within 24 hours. $30 self park is also a good value. Free breakfast is a nice perk.
- 4/5
There is nothing to eat beside breakfast, although there is a nice bar. The staff was not so friendly
- 5/5
Great business model that feels like an international style B&B with a uniquely retro LA vibe.
- 5/5
Modernized hotel that still gives an appealing retro vibe with its design. Staff are top notch. Incredible value for price. Located in a leafy residential neighborhood - a short walk to UCLA.
- 5/5
Wonderful, streamlined option for those who want a clean, cheerful, and central option without pool, etc. amenities that aren't really necessary for those coming for access to LA.
- 5/5
Understated gem in Santa Monica/Westwood Area.
- 5/5
Our second stay and we love it here. The hotel is well-run, clean, with staff that understands the importance of warm hospitality. I don't want to sing its praises too much in fear of unveiling what I think may still be a well-kept secret!
- 5/5
Was Clean, black out curtains, great size room! I would totally stay here again!
- 5/5
It was a great property and great stay. Not a lot within a safe walking distance, but easy if you get transportation.
- 1/5
TV falling off wall and not working. Housekeeping never cleaned room even after multiple requests. Musty and moldy odors throughout. Some staff were pleasant, others couldn’t care less.
- 5/5
The rooms at this property are impeccably clean and well-appointed. The linens are luxurious and soft, while the towels are incredibly fluffy. It’s a true comfort for guests. The breakfast is absolutely not what you get at the national chains! The Olivia breakfast consist of delicious quiche, overnight oats, yogurt parfait, ham and cheese croissants, delicious coffees amazing orange juice and fruit. We’ve had the pleasure of staying at this property five times already, as this is clearly our go to when in Westwood!
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stat at the Olivia Hotel. The breakfast was delicious and the room was clean and comfortable. It is a motel, but feels like a hotel because of there’s always someone at the office (receptionist during the day, security guard at night). It is a bit loud at night since the hotel is near a busy street, but I didn’t mind it for a night.
- 5/5
But this hotel is next to the road, so there was some noise at night
- 5/5
The property was very clean and felt new. The service was great. The room was small, but very comfortable. The mattress and sheets were very soft which was a nice surprise.
- 4/5
Great value. Nicely renovated. Great shower. Very nice staff. A little noisy because it is off Santa Monica Boulevard but close to a lot due to location.
- 2/5
Hotel is clean and staff is helpful. Rooms are on the small side, there is no elevator to access 2nd floor, stairs are steep. Overnight parking charge of $30/night is ridiculous, as there is ample parking on the site.
- 5/5
Great! So clean. In safe area. Staff was very friendly.
- 4/5
The property was newly renovated, nice and clean. The rooms were large. The only problem, there was no elevator! Nice hot breakfast included. The location was not walkable, but parking was easy.
- 3/5
This was a fine place to stay and I liked it. Other reviewers have commented on Olivia's breakfasts. They were of better quality than you might expect at a motel of this sort, but I found the portions surprisingly small. For instance, the bagel order, which isn't included in the free breakfast so you have to pay extra, turns out to be a half bagel.
- 5/5
All in all, we liked this a lot and highly recommend!

The Olivia is a litte gem of a hotel in West LA. Staff is very friendly and professional. The room was clean and comfortable, and the included breakfast was above and beyond your standard motel breakfast. Location is good for West LA, though though Santa Monica Blvd. there is a bit sketchy. Strongly recommend the Olivia for either business or liesure.

Beautiful courtyard area with an amazing breakfast included. Hotel is mew so everything is in perfect condition. Cozy rooms with thoughtful and efficient design.
- 5/5
Great boutique hotel. Friendly staff. Renovated. Clean.
- 5/5
Could be noisy if you are in front rooms. Had a problem self checking in, but Staff was on it immediately. Also, expresso machine didn't work, but plain coffee was great. Will stay there again. Highly recommend if you need a place to stay on the Westside of LA that is a higher level than chain hotel/motel (Holiday Inn etc.).
- 5/5
parking is limited, but not too bad
- 5/5
Charming renovated Motel in a location that was just right for the work I needed to do in LA. Enjoyed the simple, yet fresh, complimentary breakfast and the nice courtyard.
- 4/5
Well located on the west side. Close to UCLA and the Westfield Mall with easy access to the highways. Good breakfast daily and relatively quite despite being on a busy street. The room was comfortable but small.

- 4/5
The room is nice and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast is GREAT BUT misleading because the property details said it has a bar but it does not at all. In fact no food after 10 am - not even coffee, on weekend. It said “social hour” is coming….i booked it because the area does not immediately have a lot of food options thinking they have amenities. They do have a pretty reasonable mini-bar in room. Overall a little misleading.
- 2/5
The room is quite basic, and some of the design choices aren’t very user-friendly—for example, the layout and furnishings don’t feel very thoughtful. The soundproofing is extremely poor, and the floors are thin—you can clearly hear noises from rooms next door. The breakfast was also a bit disappointing. Even though there weren’t many guests, the server seemed flustered and disorganized, and got my order wrong twice. The plating looked very appetizing but food itself was nothing special. Overall, staying here once is enough for me. I would rate this more like a two-star hotel.
- 5/5
Cozy, clean and comfy boutique hotel. Good location only a short drive away from many activities. Good for families. Beds were very comfy and the bedroom had enough space. Breakfast included was great with many options some paid but worth it. 3$ upgrade for a specialty coffee like cappuccino that was delicious, also the avocado toast.
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, newly renovated, top notch bathroom fixtures, large screen TV, confortable bed, great breakfast.
- 4/5
-checking in and at the cafe. Only recommendation would be sound proof windows for rooms right on Santa Monica blvd. Would stay again.
- 3/5
Not many options to eat so we had to Uber Eats. Continental breakfast could use some work. I wish I can give this a better review.
- 4/5
Remodeled, comfortable, good looking facility. My only suggestion for improvement would be to offer more options for breakfast. Overall a good value when in LA.
- 5/5
Very clean, quiet and great customer service, I would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Clean newer property. Enclosed courtyard. Very nice. Could use more hooks in the rooms for hanging used towels and such.
- 3/5
The staff at the Olivia hotel is very accommodating and extremely nice. This would be a great place all except for the fact that it is a renovated Motel. The rooms are very nice but the setting for the rooms is very motel-ish, with direct access into the rooms from common areas like the outdoor sitting area. Some updates for privacy would really help a lot especially for a nearly $300 a night room.
- 3/5
Not having an iron and ironing board is the deal breaker for me. A hand held steamer doesnt cut it. Why not have both and iron and a steamer...
- 5/5
The breakfast is amazing.
- 4/5
Really loved the breakfast options, better than a standard hotel continental breakfast. If you face the street, you can hear the street. Wish the hot water was a bit hotter for the shower. Overall very happy with our stay!
- 5/5
It was a very clean and very new place. And it was great for proximity of where we needed to be with respect to the university.
- 5/5
Every single staff person was very friendly and helpful. Room and common areas were spotless. Very nice outdoor sitting area. Free continental breakfast was much nicer than simply a continental breakfast - delicious quiche and other food, brought to your table by friendly, attentive staff. Overall, a great place to stay.
- 5/5
I love Olivia’s room decor and how clean and new it is. The bathroom was very nice with a large, well lit mirror. The shower was up to date and spotless. As a female, I wish the shower had something for me to put my foot on to make leg shaving easier but that’s the only thing I can think of to make the bathroom nicer. Everything else was perfect. I was happy that the room had a full length mirror. The snack and beverage choices in the room were great and I enjoyed the complimentary water. I appreciated the safe in the nightstand and the nice quality clothes steamer. The complimentary breakfast was terrific with a lovely presentation and the brewed coffee was delicious. I loved the real plates, silverware and coffee mug! If I was in a hurry, I would have thought that the cafe service was slow, but because I had time, it didn’t bother me. The 2 staff members were working hard and were very friendly and professional. The gym is small, but the equipment is good quality. The fumes from the new rubber floor were strong, so that wasn’t great, but I had a good workout. The courtyard has nice seating options and a fire pit that has 5-6 comfy chairs around it. If cleanliness is top on your list and you appreciate nicely decorated rooms, you’ll be very pleased at the Olivia!
- 5/5
Experience with my fiancé and my baby I’m definitely coming back to this place. Thank you to the staff. 💯
- 4/5
Easy in and nice rooms and extras. Nice design.
- 5/5
Nice new rooms and good breakfast. The staff are friendly and the location is very convenient. A great option if you are looking for someplace convenient to UCLA / Westwood that is reasonably priced (for the area, at least). Next to a busy road but the rooms are well sound proofed. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Stayed here over the holiday weekend and was definitely happy with my choice. Such a nice sleek hotel definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Cute, small, cozy and modern. The bed, sheets and pillows were very comfortable and soft! The digital temperature gauge on the wall was not as intuitive as I would have liked it to be and it also brought a lot of light into the room at night. Other than that, super clean, cute and had the cutest little courtyard.
- 5/5
Very quiet room despite being on a busy street, well-lit room, great wi-if, very comfortable bed and a well- thought out room layout (counter space in bathroom, etc). Nice coffee maker, steamer, and fresh filtered water. Breakfast is a highlight - high quality and tasty. The courtyard is very mellow and a great place to eat or spend time. Mostly, though, service was outstanding with all of the staff we interacted with. We will be back.
- 5/5
At the heart of the hotel is an intimate cafe with a simple yet well-executed complimentary breakfast. You can pick and choose the items you want, from overnight oats to quiche and even avocado toast. The coffee program feels fit for even the pickiest of coffee lovers. I spent the entirety of one morning, lounging in the cafe with my laptop and AirPods, taking calls and getting some work done. Didn't need to go searching for a cafe in the area, as this one had all that I needed. As for the rooms, they aren't huge, but they are brand new and well designed. I wouldn't bring a huge family into one of these rooms, but for a solo work trip, it was perfect. I loved the fact that the minibar pricing was actually reasonable for a change -- no need to crawl down to the lobby or the convenience store for an evening snack. As for the rest of the experience, I found the hotel staff to be warm, professional, and helpful. Most importantly, they all seemed to be happy to be there, which isn't always the case at hotels these days. You almost forget about how little things like this can make a big difference in your own mood. Thank you to the wonderful team at Olivia Hotel. I will most certainly be back!
- 5/5
I loved the complimentary continental breakfast. I chose the buttered croissant, quiche, and fruit . It was tasty and filling. I opted for premium coffee (only $3 more) and it was delicous. I highly recommend staying here! Very close to UCLA and Century City.
