Hotel could not find reservation. When they did they provided the wrong room. Tried to convince us to take another room. Eventually told us they didnt have the room we reserved. The "hotel" is actually a long stay motel. Its dirty and dingy. Front desk person was not knowledgeable and smelled like weed. Avoid this place! We left and did not stay

Ran out of Hot water for 2 1/2 days, I left a day before, not a place I would recommend!!
- 2/5
Not what we expected but we made the best of it.
- 2/5
Very shady
- 2/5
No one at the front desk most of the time. Had to go looking for a bath towels, cause they were none in the room, advertise continental breakfast except they were locked up tight during the morning hours no one in the office no one in the breakfast area.

It was a last minute choice for a stay overnight rather than drive 2 hours back home after a concert. Typical of a older hotel/ motel exterior in this town, lobby looked decent but attendant was obviously high as its a 420 friendly establishment could be expected. If i had known it was also a weekly/monthly type place id have passed on staying. Room had been redone with laminate floor/ or vinyl plank didnt look that closely. Trash was still in the can from previous guest. They had to run up tonseenif the room was ready or not and apparently not. Bed was made, no headboard, no outlets near bed for phones, had an older bedspread, top shert and fitted sheet thats it. 3 pillows with two barely making up one normal sized pillow. No extra pillows or blankets in the room. Bed was hard and had a vinyl protector over mattress. Sheets looked like they went to walmart to get them as did shower curtain, mat and towels. Towels were tiny. Sink was clogged. TV remote only worked once you turned the tv on at the tv and had to turn it off at the tv. Was definitely a room built for long termers. Was quiet however and conveniently located to Manitou down town. A place I would have not thought twice about as a 20 something but at 50 definitely were better options for the price. They do have a pool and looked like new hottub for any summer stays.

Convenient for distance to event we were in town for, and only hotel with available king bed at time of booking. Had what we needed but that’s about it. Bed wasn’t comfortable, and was missing a top sheet, pillows were extremely flat. Did have a tv, and mini fridge. Again. Worked for what we used it for, and was extremely affordable. You get what you pay for. We did not use the breakfast, so no comment on that.

You do not want to stay here. “No Smoking” signs everywhere, but staff was smoking right in front of one. Entire building smelled of stale smoke. Smoke detector was missing with loose wires hanging from the mount. Trash can had previous occupants trash. I emptied it and asked for a fresh trash bag. Two people said they would bring one, but it never arrived in two days. Bathroom door was falling from the hinges due to wood drywall screws being used to hold the hinges in the metal frame. Fire exit signage I the room was covered with stickers, but the exit from the building was just to the right of our door. The card reader outside that exit door for re-entry was missing with loose wires hanging. Bedding and towels were a mix of rather old, worn out items. The bed was not made up when we arrived in the room, and when someone came to make it, it was the handy man for the property and it was so sloppy we re-made it so the sheets would stay on. There were only three electrical outlets, and one had the TV plugged in, one had the lamp by the bed plugged in, and one had the air conditioned plugged in. Couldn’t charge my phone or computer and sit to use it. The “breakfast was pre-bagged stuff to put in a toaster that was there. On a good note, the coffee was good and the AC unit worked okay but was pretty noisy. “Dump” is overstating this lodge.

So... this is really a glorified motel. The Expedia ad said that it would have room service, a spa, etc. Not a chance unless you consider Uber Eats room service. Our room had stained comforters and furniture that was well worn and broke down. We had one bed that was basically a box spring on the floor and was a full 9 inches lower than the other queen bed. My wife and I came out for our 21st anniversary. I am going to owe her a new aniversary trip. The staff were very helpful and polite- however the "hotel" is not run by professionals. If you have heard the term "lip stick on a pig"- that is what comes to mind. Had the price been in line with this, I could have worked with it- but in retrospect- should have stayed at a Holiday Inn or Home2 or any other chain. I like to support the independents- but this time was a bust. HOWEVER- I do credit the staff- they are trying to make the best out of what they have to work with- they are just not Hospitality Specialist. I travel too much to pay a premium for a well below average facility. My hope is that the owners will find a way to correctly represent what they have on Expedia and other travel sites- Buyer beware. Not like the picutres or as described.

Staff was very nice, the rooms are clean and close to down town. We will visit again
- 1/5
They overbooked the hotel and didn't have a bed for my kids. The air conditioning was broken in August.
- 2/5
The entire property smelt like stale cigarettes. I had to ask for clean bedding as ours appeared to have a large blood stain on it. Twice I almost left to go to another place. Had we not only been staying one night and passing through, we would have left.
- 2/5
Check in was horrible we were charged 10 dollars more than what we reserved the room itself was ok bed was comfortable water pressure was so so couldn't understand what the guy checking us in was saying cuz he was talking so low
- 4/5
Staff was nice. Good updates on pool area and lobby area. Rooms could use a bit of a remodel and the dilapidated structure from our window view was not appealing to say the least. Not their fault probably but the City should set in and advise.
- 1/5
This is waste place and created issues to check in
- 1/5
Staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, the property doesn’t look anything like the pictures and is outdated in several areas. Beds were uneven and missing box springs.
- 4/5
It was clean, the staff was friendly. It is not the newest property, but it was clean and we liked having a fridge and microwave in our room. The staff went above and beyond to satisfy our needs.
- 5/5
Any issues I had were resolved on my stay. On day 10 of our 14 day road trip and the beds got me my best nights of sleep. The ac worked good. Nice little pool area. It’s an older place just like a lot of the other stuff on this side of town but it’s a mile from so many things. Definitely recommend
- 1/5
One of the front desk employees had smoked pot, the area smelled of it. Front desk said if I needed anything, he was right next door and I could just knock on his door! They put us in a basement level room that was dingy, needed updating, the beds were old and not the same size. The decor was shabby. Found a spider in the tub. The place felt uncomfortable, and the front desk guy creeped me out. Kids and i went to the car, and left…we got a room at a “chain” hotel.
- 4/5
It was a great stay there only complaint I had was the pool outside was very cold but hey it also summer just didn’t warm up enough to warm the pool and wasn’t that hot hot out to wanna dip in cold water which they can’t control very nice place to stay for the weekend
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, easy check in and out. Quite, overall great experience!!! Will definitely stay here again!!!
- 4/5
The suite was perfect for 6 people in one room as it was a 3 bed suite. Kids loved the pool. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only issue was our key card was not working frequently and new card had to be replaced several times.
- 1/5
Booked this room simply because they had a 3 bed option for my family. Room was not ready when we checked in at almost 6pm. Room was not locked upon arrival, was propped open. Gave 2 keycards, but only 1 ever worked, even after they rekeyed it. No staff available aftwr 8 pm, so of ypu need something or get locles out you have to call. Will not stay again. Also charged me more that what i booked it for.
- 1/5
Expedia rating and photos misrepresent the property. When we arrived we were told that Expedia overbooked the property. When we finally got into a room it had a noisy window air conditioner that struggled to keep up with the heat. No battery in the fire alarm. TV remote did not work and even controls on side of tv would not adjust volume. Towels and linens were old and worn. Staff tried to help but really not much they could do as everything was just too old and worn out.
- 4/5
Went out of their way to help our needs comforts
- 1/5
Not very clean, AC didn’t work in 100 degree weather , comforters had stains, never anyone at the service desk, not very well maintained, tv didn’t work. Overall a terrible place to stay, I think they only get patronage because it’s a tourist destination. The pictures they have are deceptive
- 3/5
Nice staff.
- 1/5
Room was clean but the smell of mildew bad. Also breakfast wasnt very friendly for multiple people as you shared everything out of ome big container.
- 5/5
Great place to stay ! Very nice staff!
- 4/5
The manager and staff was very friendly and welcoming. They were helpful when we needed something. The location was close to everything and was convenient. Me and all my children had a good time and stay there. We hope to go back one day. Thank you for welcoming us and making our trip a good one!
- 1/5
Property not clean, their was no toilet paper. Towels stink. Beds were uncomfortable staff looked like they were drunk all the time. Breakfast was nasty. Worst Hotel I have ever stayed.
- 3/5
A decent place to stay near Manitou. The property itself is OK. Our room had a fridge and microwave which we appreciated. We paid for the deluxe room with a mountain view and I think it was worth the slight premium. We didn't try the pool. It's a pretty long walk to downtown Manitou, but there is a shuttle if you don't mind waiting. Overall, I think you can find slightly nicer places a little bit closer to Manitou for about the same price, but this is a good option if it's much less expensive than the other offerings.
- 2/5
We showed up and there wasn’t room for us. The manager kept talking about all their struggles and how tired they were. She attempted to find a solution but we were needing larger room with more beds because we are a big family. We didn’t want to cram a big bed into an already crowded room and the hotel didn’t feel safe enough to split the kids into different rooms. Weird vibes from start to finish. She kept talking to us about our options and pressuring us to make a decision. I started to get super overwhelmed by the pressure and so I called our booking app and they got us a new place to stay that didn’t have off vibes.
- 1/5
Horrible stay for locked out of the room after waking up early and went for a walk. Came back couldn’t get back in and it was 7am couldn’t get back try to call someone for an hour and a half. Worst bed I’ve slept on in years A/c didn’t work. Want even offered anything even after being locked out.
- 5/5
The proximity of this hotel to area attractions is very convenient. Our room was very spacious and breakfast is provided, which is a plus. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Outside dining options are within walking distance. There is a nice, peaceful park across the street. Some of the rooms have a direct view of Pike's Peak. Nice clean and cold pool after a long day of activity.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed.
- 5/5
I LOVE YOU SHERRIE. YOU ARE THE BEST. I WILL BE BACK
- 5/5
The staff was very accommodating and super friendly
- 5/5
Ms Sharee (sp) was so accommodating! We had a trailer with a motorcycle on it and she went above and beyond to help us park and keep it safe. We felt like VIPs. Will absolutely be returning later in the summer!
- 3/5
The continual breakfast wasn't very good.
- 1/5
Thin blankets, no help.
- 5/5
New management - great view from room
- 2/5
It was noisy, the online said that rooms were sound proof. No screen on the window, the table had a wably leg, the Kleenex container on the wall was empty. The pullows were flat, there was only one hand towel, the little bottles of toiletries had been opened and half used, no continental breakfast as advertised in the website, the bed had a plastic mattress protector, i felt like i was sleeping on a trash bag, there were no slicky stickies in the shower to prevent slips or falls.
- 2/5
The bathtub was clogged and it looked dirty. I dont recommended this place at all.
- 3/5
I was looking for a last-minute stay in or around Manitou Springs and this was one of the cheaper options (and only options available). Overall, it was about what I expected. Bare bones basic hotel that looked like it was under renovation..? The room was clean, the booking was easy, and the gentleman at the front desk was friendly. The location was a little further out from the main strip than I thought, but walkable if need be. Not sure I would stay here again. I’d rather spend a bit more for a nicer place with more amenities.
- 2/5
We booked a king room with a mountain view but upon arrival the hotel overbooked so the "upgraded" to a suite. It was on lower floor with a view of start and alley. They hadn't turned on the heat so I had to weary coat for three hours waiting for room to warm up. It has cement walls and ceramic tile floors so it took a long time. The room looks like it was furnished at Salvation Army. The front desk staff was wonderful. It was definitely not what is advertised on Hotels.com.
- 1/5
This place is not clean at all! Never will i ever waste my money here again. The room i was put in was not a mountain view. I was subjected to horrible "living" conditions . They said they are renovating however maybe they should close for the season and fix things properly. This should not even be on the Expedia site as a good hotel. I knew it was a older hotel but when i post the pictures, they should really consider giving me a refund! They should have never assigned this room and just said there were no king rooms available. Then this post would not even be considered, depending on how the rest of the rooms look..
- 2/5
Property was in rough shape including rooms! Price was only $5 less than better quality hotels but doesn't even compare. If they repared things like the privacy locks and shower faucets it wouldnt be so bad but it seemed very neglected.
- 2/5
No privacy. The door have big gap between the frame and you can see through it right there You can see through the curtains.
- 5/5
Staff was great
- 3/5
Room was a lot smaller than we expected and bathroom was really really small. We paid 10 dollars more per night so we had a view of the mountains. We did have a nice view.. staff were really nice but had to look for them. No room for luggage etc.
- 5/5
The hotel is undergoing some renovations and repairs, so there are some growing pains, but they make it very cozy. Staff was great, rooms are good sized and comfortable. Showers are hot! We tried 3 different motels on our trip. We will return to this one. The only reason i did not give them 5 stars on everything is simply because it is a work in progress.
- 4/5
We were trying to do an economical getaway, this place was just fine. No frills, but the staff was super friendly and responsive. We spent most of our time outside, and this was a nice, clean place to lay our heads. Best of all we got to have our dog with us and that made it great.
- 2/5
Positive: the room was clean. Negative: several items needed maintenance, the breakfast was pathetic, the overall price was about double what it was worth.
- 2/5
large gaps of air space were between wall and outside. Lucky enough that there were no bugs when we were there to come in but street noice came through the opening quite loud. Safety latch on door had been damaged and would not have kept an intruder out. Stains on hallway rugs and general appearance was poor. Nothing like the advertisement showed. Also the hotel was charging less for walkups than our price was.
- 3/5
The overall stay was okay. Breakfast was cold. Staff was friendly. Building needs some remodeling
- 5/5
and see the progress. We are big supporters of small business. Beds are are a little hard for our taste but rooms were clean. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Close drive to almost everything. Monitou downtown is worth a day trip! Note. There are no elevators so if you can’t do stairs make sure you get an accessible room
- 3/5
Close to many tourist attractions. Very limited parking due to redoing parking lot.
- 5/5
friendly staff we will be back
- 5/5
Host was accommodating. I booked for the wrong day and they switched it over and had a room ready for us. The room was clean.
- 3/5
Air conditioner was just set in no trim around it therfore bugs could get in and didnt let the room get cool enough. Hair ALl over the shower.
- 1/5
Worst place ever, very run down. The pictures are a lie. Mattress had blood and urine stains on it. Everything was so nasty. When asked for a refund, they refused. Asked to talk to the Manager and after a heated discussion he said he would refund as long as I didn’t give a bad review. Haha
- 1/5
management was nice but we had issues with our reservations and cleanliness of the hotel. it was definitely the disappointing part of our trip. I would question how it got a good rating.
- 4/5
The price was right for the stay
- 5/5
The lady at the front desk was very understanding and helpful we got a good room nice pool area well kept
- 5/5
Under new management and they are making wonderful changes. Extremely friendly. Breakfast was great! Pet friendly!!
- 5/5
I arrived late, but T got me checked in and taken care of. I talked to him by phone earlier in the day. So professional and courteous!
- 5/5
The personnel were happy, and helpful. It was like a familiar, family atmosphere.
- 5/5
A very interesting decor choice. Bed was very comfortable. Everyone was nice. We were only there for one night. Nice area, convenient. I would stay again.
- 3/5
The hotel staff were very pleasant but the hotel was very rundown and the bed were extremely uncomfortable. I know the owners just bought the place so it may not be what it could be in the future but right now it could definitely use some work.
- 5/5
There are no elevators, so keep that in mind for packing and for getting to the room. The staff is wonderful, check in was very accommodating and efficient.
- 5/5
I have stayed in many motels over the years, a lot of them nicer the The Cog Motel in Manitou. That being said, the staff, Heather and Tiquan, we absolutely the best I have ever encountered. They went above and beyond any expectations. I highly recommend staying there because of them. We will definitely be going back and I look forward to seeing the ongoing improvements this motel is implementing. Heather and Tiquan, if you happen to read this; Thank you so much!
- 1/5
The people did not care that the rooms were dirty and smells an beds were old an hard .we had to take out our own trash an asked for towels. We asked about restaurants in the area an the front desk said they didn't know of any. The staff was always standing around talking to each .
- 3/5
Old hotel, some remodel done, no elevator, stairs narrow. Beds were well used, took a while to get comfortable. Cleanliness of the room could have been much better.
- 3/5
It was like staying at your grandmas house . It was clean and comfortable but not like a typical chain hotel.
