They gave me a room with no windows or skylight even though I booked the one with a skylight. A comped breakfast did not fix the fact that I was in a room under the entire heating and cooling system and it was noisy all night

Clean room, great timeless furnishings, quaint. Staff were helpful. Parking wasn't bad even on a busy weekend. Great bar with live music.

We loved this historical hotel! The parking was tricky and we were never offered an upgrade but would def stay here again! It’s close to all the downtown shops which was very convenient.

What was disappointing was, the shower kept going warm, hot, and cold while showering.

The property was nicely located and super cute. I was aware ahead of time that there were events at this hotel that could be loud until late at night. We were up and having a good time so it was not an issue for us, but if you are an early to bed person, this is probably not the hotel for you. Loud wedding party, music until 11 and the noises from cleaning up and people leaving.

Just a quick overnight to meet friends for dinner. Property and room were super clean and staff was exceptional. Location was perfect for what we needed

Free parking nearby. Close to all of downtown. Rooms were nice. Shower water pressure was phenomenal. Only downside was having to ask for a mini-fridge.

We were there for a short overnight visit. Bed was very comfy and the shower had great pressure and hot water. Only down side was no shampoo or shower gel. We found out later that it was an error and it is provided.

The third floor smelled like rotten eggs in the hallways. I'm not sure if there was a sewage backup or what, but the staff seemed oblivious when I mentioned it at check out. Perks: the room was extremely clean, the staff was nice and helpful, and the bed was comfortable.

Great AC, easy free parking, clean room and bathroom.

The hotel is in a central location with lots to do as far as restaurants and nightlife etc. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. We held a wedding for my son at the site and everything went smoothly and we hardly had to lift a finger. 5 Star stay and we will be back!

Nice place in downtown mckinney. My only issue. Well 2 issues was first night the room i had smelled of an almost pesticide and the air conditioner was t working correctly. They moved me to another room the following night but i was awoke several times throughout the night by barking dogs in a room nearby. So its nice and quaint but you can hear others pretty clearly.

The Hotel was very clean and nice ! Location was great walking distance to all the downtown shops and Eating.

First off dinner was great every thing tasted delicious from the appetizers to the main course. After dinner we went up to our room with a great window view, wine was on ice and wine glasses were ready, also had strawberries with whipped cream too .Bed slept comfortable we will definitely be back

Amazing place

We were in a room across the street from the hotel in an office building so it didn’t feel like we were at a hotel. It was weird. That’s not the room we booked but it was all they had when we checked in. Staff was only mildly helpful. It was a cool hotel but definitely old and needs updating. I would say it’s a 3 star hotel at best. Has potential though to be a really cool hotel!

Property looked much higher class than pics online. Hot water was plentiful and bathroom very clean. Quiet. Library bar was ambient and cozy.

There was no free breakfast - you could order breakfast for room service at an extra fee. The beds were very comfortable and location was excellent. Enjoyed our stay

Room was great! Had a hard time with the hot water in the shower, but probably due to the fact that the building is so old. LOVED the overall appearance on the inside of the hotel.

If you enjoy historic properties (and I do), you will appreciate this hotel. I love the high ceiling, brick wall, and antique furnishings. This hotel is downtown McKinney, an area that is THRiVING! Loads of night life, ripped out of a Hallmark Channel movie!

The room was clean, comfortable and the staff was attentive but not intrusive. My complaint is with Expedia. I ordered a room “with a window and view” and the view was the alley.

The Grand is a step back in time, good old southern hospitality and a step out into a quaint Texas downtown.

We enjoyed the stay. Conveniently located, within walking distance of downtown. The room was clean, pretty but it was noisy. Party in another room resulting in lots of noise, and door slamming.

One of the best hotels in which we’ve ever stayed!!! Right in the heart of McKinney. Walkable to everything. Cutest town with amazing bars and stores. Room was so cute and comfortable. We had room service for breakfast and it was cheaper than what you could get breakfast for anywhere else!! We fell in love with this town but the hotel was the best part. So amazing. LOVED THIS PLACE!!

Fantastic locally owned hotel in a historic building in beautiful McKinney. They own Ricks Chophouse nextdoor which is phenomenal. Wonderful experience.

Historic features. Entry looked clean and well kept. Staff was very nice. Our room was not very “clean”. The blinds and baseboards had what looked like soda splashed all over. The carpet felt incredibly dirty, like it needed to be shampooed. The AC did not work, but we were able to transfer rooms. The “new” room’s ceiling fan looked as if it was going to fall off the ceiling, and two lights didn’t work.

From the moment I walked in the door the staff greeted me & was so welcoming. They checked me in, answered my questions & directed me to local restaurants & parking. Traction was coz y & comfortable, very well done. Check out was easy & again new staff but just as wonderful as the check in staff! Highly recommend the Grand Hotel in Old Town McKinney

Hotel is old, hot and smells bad. Had water leak streaks down the wall with mold all over. The first room was hotter than the second and was very humid and water stains all over the walls and down the wall below a/c register. Staff was very friendly and super nice though. Not there fault for the bad conditions of the hotel.

Very happy with my room. The bed was huge! The room did get a bit stuffy at night even with the ceiling fan. Excellent water pressure in the shower. Very much enjoyed my short stay. Visited family so definitely staying at The Grand again.

It is a beautiful historical site. Not sure where the very strong, musty odor was coming from in our room. The clerk gave us a room price and opened the window. We went to a nearby establishment and when we came back, it still smelled. We used one of the plug-in air fresheners from the hallway in our room which helped

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Staff was excellent. My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants. A very special place to stay.

The only improvement I would recommend is having mini fridges in the rooms, other than that the stay was excellent.

An independent hotel - not part of a chain and it's an excellent find. Parking can be an issue but they're helpful with parking location suggestions - as well as restaurant suggestions. I'll stay here when I'm in that part of Texas again.

Deserves a 5 out of 5 but for two things. Parking was a challenge. If you arrive at the wrong time, you are out of luck. BUSY downtown. The only lot that's close and free was packed. The other issue was a bit of noise from two nights of weddings as we stayed on a friday/saturday. If we had been any closer to the ballroom, i'd have been upset. As it was, we were able to leave the bathroom fan on to soften the noise. Overall, we'd go again with a better feel for the property.

The room and hotel were amazing. Pay attention to your folio. We were charged for breakfast being delivered to our room. We did not have breakfast either day and were charged. When I questioned it and stated that we did not have breakfast the clerk made us feel as those we were lying and trying to get out of paying. The folio was fixed but had I not asked it would have been charged.

This older hotel is beautiful! Love the location. One problem we had was that you could hear everything from the neighbors (including snoring). The other problem was the water was either scolding HOT or freezing. These problems are expected with older hotels though. We would stay here again just for the location!!!

The Grand Hotel is an excellent choice if you want to truly experience McKinney's unique City Square vibe. You will love what The Grand Hotel offers - great customer service, clean rooms/facilities, and comfortable beds; as well as the Hotel's location on the Square. McKinney's Square is not only unique, it is the GOAT of City Squares.

Charming Historic hotel! Rooms had an old world charm but there was a bit of a musty smell. Carpets in hallways are bad but they are working to replace. Bed was comfy and location was amazing!

The hallway rugs were filthy and the elevator had an uninviting smell for some reason. Location is great though. Seems like it can be a great hotel with a couple of upgrades.

It’s a wonderful location. The hotel itself has beautiful touches in artwork and vintage tile ceilings in suites. Comfy pillows and comfy sheets. They put a sign up to say the carpeting with many stains on the 4th floor where we stayed was a work in progress. Only other disappointment was not being able to shower properly. My daughter had a decent one but then the shower head popped off right when I turned the shower on so I ended up sponge bathing in the shower. Eek. That was disappointing. But the room was truly lovely and the bed wonderfully comfortable. Oh, and there’s a marvellous night club attached ti the hotel with live bands and lovely drinks, as well as Rick’s Chophouse of course.

The Grand Hotel is unique and sophisticated. The lounge/bar was fabulous. Front desk staff were nice and helpful. Highly recommend.

This place is a hidden gem. It's boutique hotel in an older building. The options for dining and walking the square were just tremendous. Park once and spent three nights. Will definitely return

We loved many things about the Grand Hotel, location, convenience and the history. The hotel was clean but also you can tell it needs a few upgrades or updates. Even with that it was clean and the staff is wonderful and kind!

Really nice room. We took a room without a window since we didn't plan on being in the room except to sleep and it was great. Without the window, the room stayed really dark the next morning allowing us to sleep a bit later than we would have been able to. The bar in the hotel is excellent.
