Reviews
The hotel is praised for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location in Chinatown, close to subway stations and various attractions. However, the small room size and noise from nearby trains are frequent complaints.

Great location and friendly staff. Sewage smell in room from bathroom. It was overwhelming and they could not really do anything about it. Also, room was freezing cold and we had no control over the temperature. That was manageable, but the smell was tough. Tha fully, we were able to keep it mostly contained to the bathroom by shutting the door. And, we could air out the room by opening the window.
- 3/5
Hotel is fine but bath was stained and no fridge in room. But overall it was acceptable. What was not acceptable was the awful smell in the surrounding area. I know it was a hot week but Chinatown in Singapore manages fine. Awful smell of old garbage and rotting seafood in every street around. Would not stay there again.

The staff were sweet. We requested to make our room and they gave us new sheets for the bed, tidied the bathroom, and gave us new towels and toilet paper. Overall, it was a great stay for the price and location in comparison to other hotels. There’s really no amenities but it’s not needed if you are exploring the city. It is located in Chinatown; it may not be the most glamorous but it is NYC and we still felt safe (obviously just be aware). All the best food places we wanted to try were usually a 10 min walk (at most 20). Multiple bus stops and 2 different subway stations within a 5-10 min walk. We usually walked to Target/Trader Joe’s within 12 min walk to get water and snacks.

Clean great location close to Brooklyn bridge and the fan was a god send
- 5/5
Great location , very comfortable room
- 4.5/5
Really friendly and professional staff and very quiet facility. The room is about as small as you would expect for NYC, but good for the price. The bathroom is really nice with a rain shower with lots of hot water and a timed heat lamp for when you dry off. The location is convenient enough but not the most beautiful -- felt safe enough during the day but lots of graffiti and there was definitely at least one person very high on drugs roaming the street, and some trash on the street. So you need to be OK with a little bit of "texture."
- 4.5/5
Convenient location Noise from subway right next to the window,it would be perfect if the windows has better insulation
- 5/5
A real hidden gem - this place is reasonably priced, very clean, and in easy walking distance of the subway and pretty much everything in lower Manhattan. The rooms are admittedly small, but unless you’re willing to pay $500+ a night, you aren’t going to do better. The staff were great, and always on hand if we needed help, and the rooms had amenities I haven’t seen in much more expensive hotels. Oh and the sound-proofing on the rooms was very good! I’d happily stay here again, without a doubt!
- 4.5/5
Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant recommendations provided. Clean area for storing, preparing and eating food provided. Great location for walking the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, and for catching the ferries. More flat surfaces in the room for holding items would be helpful.

Great place to stay

A really good find in...
- 3.5/5
Polite and efficient staff and clean rooms.. Small room without wardrobe and noisy due to close distance with metro train !!! Room temperature managed with cover of 24/7 cold aircondition flow. Without that cover should be impossicle to stay. Unfortunately, this solution offered to us during our 3rd night !!! Paid 380$ per night. Overpriced for sure. Not worthy more than 200$ per night..
- 5/5
Simple, clean room. Staff gave a lot of suggestions if you’re looking to try some great food. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel is basic but perfect for what I needed. My only wish was for a personal safe to be available, as I like to put some of my things in a safe while traveling, but everything else was just what I needed, and the staff was very helpful.
- 2.5/5
Close to the metro. You can hear the rooms above and next to you. The rooms are very small and there is no fridge. You also cannot control the temperature of the room.

The location was great in the heart of Chinatown. The stuff was super friendly. The room service cleaned our room upon request. The rooms are super small, which I get is a NY standard, but it was even impossible to open the suitcase on the floor. The room was not very clean - the walls and carpet were dirty.
- 4.5/5
Excellent value. Clean comfortable room. Hot water (for tea or coffee), ice and microwave available in basement. Walking distance to many excellent Chinese restaurants. What really distinguishes this hotel is the friendliness and helpfulnes of the staff
- 0.5/5
Room dirty tiny. They said if I upgraded it would not be near train but still noisy

Recommend as all public transport is close or just walk. Need a kettle though in the room. But otherwise excellent

For the price I paid, it was a real value. I care about if there is ice, a microwave and a refrigerator - they had those (in a common area). It was clean and all staff were very pleasant and helpful. The temperature was fine in the room (the outside temps were from 40 to 90 degrees in our four-night stay.) The only issue - which didn’t bother me - is that a subway train runs above ground across the street. It’s not too loud and greatly reduces in numbers of trains during the night. I am sure that is the reason that the price is relatively low. I consider it a find and would happily stay here again.
- 5/5
attentive staff, clean room
- 5/5
Small room but clean and excellent customer service
- 5/5
Clean and safe place to stay in Chinatown. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
A great location for Queens. Brooklyn. And Manhattan. Simple and secure
- 5/5
A great small room down in the corner of manhattan, quick and easy access around subways/chinatown general area. There are tons of things in walkable distance, including soho, east village, financial distract, and even Brooklyn bridge if you’re up for it. It’s in what feels like a quieter park of the city, despite it being in an unexpected area. It was over all a nice stay in New York, and felt like a break away from doing anything busy in the city. The room for me was small, but cozy and quiet, there is just enough for your bag, sleeping, a good size bathroom with what you need.
- 5/5
Great location, quiet room despite being on 5th floor facing the Manhattan Bridge with subways and car traffic. Provided extensive list of nearby restaurants and cafes. Nice toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, handwashing gel, body lotion, full size toothbrushes and mini toothpaste). The basic Queen room was pretty small with limited space to store clothes, but adequate for 1 person for short stay. Comfy bed, good lighting, A/C and ceiling fan. Common room with shared frig, microwave, hot water, disposible plates and utensils was nice feature. They'll hold your luggage for 24hrs after check-out if needed. Will definitely stay here again (in larger room if I come with husband).

- 5/5
My stay at Mimosa Hotel was a welcomed surprise. While it is in a very nosy area with the subway running nearby the window reinforcements in my room - 3 pieces of glass on each window- eliminated all outside noise and I slept very well. The room was very clean and well appointed, not super small, bed very comfortable. Bathroom clean and well equipped. No iron or drawers. The staff was very helpful and overall a very positive stay. Note the block is messy with lots of cheap Chinese take-outs - for the price the Mimosa Hotel is a very good choice.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
Very clean room, convenient location. The noise from the train is noticeable but does not disturb you - we had no issues sleeping.
- 5/5
Parking was easy (we used a nearby garage). Staff was SUPER nice and accommodating. We were able to drop our bags early and check in early cause the room was ready and then they even held our bags after checkout so we could hop around our last day. Every staff member was so helpful and made you feel welcomed. Will def be returning next time I’m in nyc. Convenient location between Chinatown, canal, and trains.
- 5/5
Great location. Clean, simple rooms that had what we needed.
- 5/5
Very clean room, cosy and comfortable. Staff is very helpful and kind. They offer food recommendations and amenities like toothpaste and toothbrushes in addition to the standard soap and shampoo and conditioner. The have a vending machine and ice machine. Parking garage nearby. They have a few places in walking distance to eat.
- 2/5
After a Hotel evacuation because of a fire below the hotel ( not the hotels fault), there was no assistance from the hotel at all to help relocate residents for the night at another hotel after the hotel was unlivable. They outright stated we were on our own to find other accommodations. Don’t think they will be opening back up soon. Other than that the hotel was nice.
- 5/5
Great staff, comfortable room, and amazing rain shower!
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfy, with everything you needed with a well stock bathroom
- 5/5
Clean, conveniently located, nice staff!
- 5/5
Great staff and team. Very helpful, always made sure to lend a helping hand

- 4/5
Clean room, historic location. Courteous staff.
- 5/5
Room was great and spacious for Manhattan. Could check-in early. Friendly staff and plenty local recommendations. Would book again when in NYC.
- 5/5
I was pleasantly surprised with our accommodation at The Mimosa. The room was extremely clean, the furniture and art were stylish and the staff was pleasant. The room was fairly small. The windows kept the outside noise of NYC out. I would stay again. Wish there were coffee makers in the room.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Friendly staff, great location, quiet room, TV had a huge number of channels. We arrived early and they kindly held our luggage until check in time. Loved the neighborhood, lots of great food options and multiple subway stations. Definitely will return. A hidden gem!
- 4/5
Clean room with good bathroom
- 5/5
Great!
- 4/5
Excellent staff and location; double glazed windows keep you from hearing the traffic right outside. Clean, comfortable room and even a little desk for work. Toothbrushes and paste in case you forget (as I did!)
- 5/5
Amazing place to stay in Chinatown. This was an excellent experience in my price point, close to many amenities and shops. The area around it, I feel the hotel can do much about it. However, the hotel itself was excellent! The staff were extremely nice. The rooms were adequate, comfortable and clean. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom and floors were cleaned.
- 5/5
Friendly staffs, room was clean and affordable price. We'll come back again.
- 5/5
It was not a big place but very clean and the staff were so nice and welcoming. Enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Hotel located in Chinatown, the room was simple, clean, comfortable and just what was need, a place to sleep!
- 5/5
Room was clean and the staff was extremely nice and accommodating, will be back!!
- 5/5
The bed was super comfortable
- 5/5
Perfect location for us to explore New York. We were made to feel very welcome by everyone we saw in the hotel. The room was very clean, and lovely and warm to come back to after a chilly day exploring.
- 4/5
Small room, but clean. Staff was ok as well.
- 5/5
Didn't have any problems. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Nice
- 4/5
Staff was courteous. Room and bathroom looked recently updated and were clean. Unfortunately, no coffee maker.
- 5/5
Yes and yes
- 5/5
Perfect for solo travelers
- 5/5
Great room! Nice place!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room. The rooms had decent windows that would block most of the train noise, and there was only a low rumble that didn't disturb our sleep.
- 5/5
Nice room, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom
- 5/5
We were very satisfied with our visit & would definitely return. The room was very clean & comfortable, and at a good price. Also had a decently priced parking lot nearby. Only 2 caveats- some guests should be aware that the room was quite small & the limited space around the queen bed will be hard to maneuver easily if your body is on the larger than average size. The only other somewhat negative is that the hotel is located in an area that is quite empty at night & that might make some novice city visitors uncomfortable walking from train stations at night.
- 5/5
clean, comfortable, and affordable
- 4/5
Basic room but good location. Quiet er than expected for being next to a busy area but not a completely quiet room. Staff were lovely.
- 5/5
A pleasant, friendly hotel, convenient to transit. A super deal for Manhattan on a budget. Only complaint is that the checkin staff was a bit small, leading to manageable delays.
- 1/5
Really not good
- 5/5
Perfect for a short stay in NYC
- 4/5
It was a nice stay. Perfect if you need a place to sleep. It was very clean and quiet. I liked the vibe.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable beds
- 5/5
Bday weekend was great
- 5/5
The most nicest staff, very helpful.
- 5/5
Train track across the road, with our room facing the front, not ideal as you can still hear the rumbling train noise despite the two double glaze, but we are good sleepers anyway!
- 4/5
The room was small but clean and comfortable. No frills but not spartan. Noise from trains on nearby Manhattan Bridge could be a problem for light sleepers, but earplugs would dampen the racket. Inexpensive by Manhattan standards, and short walk to MTA station.
- 5/5
Hotel was amazing! Lots of great shopping and food options close by. Hotel rooms were clean and very quiet at night. Would definitely book again if I find myself back in the area.
- 3/5
The main thing I didn’t like is the hotel is central air conditioning so we can’t adjust temp and air in the room is always stuffy. And carpet is thin old and dirty. Bring slippers
- 4/5
Very friendly, clean , and relatively spacious ! Area is very noisy area with train passing.
- 4/5
Some of the amenities were in rough condition , but the location was perfect and the value was great for the price.
- 5/5
Clean hotel just outside the main hustle and bustle of New York but very easy to get into Times Square (about 20 minutes). A brilliant price for New York and I will definitely check for availability here the next time I find myself in New York!!. Lastly a huge thanks to all the staff who were very friendly they always greeted us when we left and reentered the hotel
- 5/5
Lovely little boutique hotel. They paid attention to detail as far as amenities went. Bathrooms has proper hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner ( in large bottles), toothbrush and toothpaste for 2, razor, shaving cream. Common area had a refrigerator, microwave, hot water dispenser. It was perfect at a good price point . Front desk staff were attentive and friendly and gave us printouts for dining in the area, and the ones we picked were all gr8. Overall, highly recommend.
- 5/5
clean and lovely place to stay with all modern amenities
- 5/5
Despite the hectic and lively environment outside the hotel, I was able to have quiet and peaceful sleep in my room.
- 5/5
I had a wonderful stay! Room was small but perfect for my solo trip! Staff were very nice and helpful!
- 5/5
Thank You
- 5/5
The location in Chinatown is just few minutes away from Little Italy, Soho, and the Lower East Side in general. The room was terrific. Everything was set up sensibly. Also, the bed was super comfortable. I can't wait to return someday!
- 5/5
The hotel room was a bit small but it was good for me! Good location and the train is close by! Staff is also amazing
- 3/5
I liked the privacy and ease of navigation. However, the remote control ceiling fan in my room didn't work and there was no manual alternative on the fan itself which l could use to sleep in total comfort during this hot summer night. On the other hand, the staff was superb!! Extremely helpful and welcoming. I would definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Loved!
- 5/5
Close to a couple of subway lines, in the heart of Chinatown close to trendy bustling Canal St and SOHO. Near the Manhattan Bridge but my room was quiet. Clean, room, crisp linens, comfy bed. Friendly and helpful staff. A short but pleasant stay.
- 2/5
Room smaller than expected (very small)
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room, great location. Would stay again
- 5/5
Great spot in Chinatown. Everything was smooth and it was very clean. A very nice option for the price!
- 5/5
Clean and nice hotel. And close to a lot of shops and restaurants
- 4/5
Nice shower, fairly sound-proof room
- 3/5
The hotel itself is very nice for the money. The con is that the hotel is situated at the base of the manhattan bridge in an area that isn’t particularly clean or aesthetic. Totally fine for a work trip where I want to save money but not somewhere I would bring my family on a vacation.
- 5/5
No microwave or fridge in room
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. Room was small, but comfortable. It was surprisingly quiet even with the elevated train across the street. The room had more than typical amenities in this price range. I would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Hotel
- 5/5
we had a great stay at the hotel Mimosa . Our room was very clean! the beds were comfortable. located in Chinatown, which is close to the places we wanted to go.
- 2/5
Be prepared to pay a $200 deposit at time of check-in. The room was so small I could barely turn around. We barely used the bathroom because nothing felt clean. It was noisy and we could hear every conversation in the hallway and outside. The only good thing about this hotel is its proximity to public transportation and food but I wouldn’t stay here again. It’s overpriced, the rooms are incredibly outdated and the hotel is more of a motel than a place I felt comfortable staying.
- 3/5
No outlet at desk in room to plug in laptop or phone
- 4/5
The train was just outside the window.
- 4/5
Great Place
- 5/5
It was a very small room, but it came with our personal bathroom. This was a perfect place to stay in for a few days of our trip! I loved the outside view which was of the subway going back and forth. It was in front of us, and i saw comments about people complaining about the loud noise from the subway, but i personally loved it as it gave a true NYC vibe. We were on the 6th floor too so we saw some small views of the city buildings. It was pretty quiet in the area too and there was a burger place literally across the street and boba next door. Subway station was pretty close like at most 10 min walk. Lots of dining places around china town. No parking spots, but overall our stay was great. We would stay here again!
- 5/5
3rd time staying here great staff and great location. Thank you
- 5/5
The staff were amazing letting us check in a bit earlier and lending us umbrellas. The property was very clean. The surrounding area is nothing to write home about but World Trade Center is only 25 min walk away.
- 5/5
Best stay of my entire life.
- 3/5
It was in super cold winter but the temperature in the room was cold. There is no thermostat to adjust it by myself. So I felt like I slept outside. Have to call the front multiple times to adjust the heat but not as I wanted. There was a construction which cause the noise in the early morning and kept running all day long. The water was shut down during my stay around afternoon for 4 hours. That’s horrible.
- 5/5
Great staff, great hotel, perfect for ur nyc trip, location is in chinatown, good access to buses and subway
- 5/5
The hotel is strategically located in Chinatown, offering easy access to a lively and vibrant area. While the rooms may be on the smaller side, they provide a cozy and comfortable atmosphere that effectively met my needs. The location is conveniently close to the bridge, yet maintains a surprisingly quiet ambiance for a restful stay. There are plenty of excellent dining options nearby, which significantly enhance the overall experience. I also stumbled upon a delightful gem museum nestled in an old synagogue just around the corner, adding an unexpected highlight to my trip. The staff were friendly and attentive, contributing positively to my overall experience. Considering all these factors, I would certainly recommend this hotel as a solid choice for future visits, particularly due to its excellent communication options. I also enjoyed a scenic walk to the Empire State Building on a breezy winter day, which added a memorable touch to my stay.
- 5/5
Loved the location, the staff was excellent, room had mostly everything we needed, decent price.
- 5/5
Delightful as always! Wonderful staff, terrific location, clean and very comfortable room. Best value in the LES. Love being walkable to everything in Chinatown.
- 5/5
dirty neighbourhood but the hotel is exceptional. A clean oasis in the middle of a dirty neighborhood.
- 5/5
Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Room was good size for nyc. Big bathroom with lots of fine touches …
- 5/5
We stayed one night while back in town, I am very familiar with New York and will have to say the check in was very easy, the daytime staff was extremely attentive, nice and helpful with accommodating an early check in and having our luggage’s placed inside the room for us once we got back from lunch. The room itself is small in size but overall packs a huge difference with all of the other perks like it being clean, quiet and convenient for a quick trip. I will reccomend and stay again for sure!
- 5/5
Really friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room, pillows were great, super dark with the curtains. Lots of great bathroom products too.
- 5/5
Convenient location.
- 5/5
Convenient Chinatown location near the subway and walkable, clean hotel with very friendly staff. They printed out food recommendations within a 10 min walk.
- 5/5
I like the proximity to Chinatown, Little Italy, One World Trade Center but lacking in breakfast establishments around the neighborhood.
- 5/5
I only stayed there for one night but I wish i had booked it for more days. The rooms are cozy. You have a bed, a screen, a small writing desk, and a bathroom. It was calming, after a long day of travel, to sit at the desk and do some journaling before I laid down. The staff was very polite and helpful (provided local recommendations). The most surprising thing was how lively the area is in the morning. I arrived at 11 pm so there nothing but darkness. I had no idea i was in the middle of a so many little shops. I will definitely stay here again and for the full trip.
- 4/5
If I ever need to be in the area of Chinatown or the lower east side this would be my go to spot Extremely good value and good location Plenty of parking garages close by The staff at the hotel is extremely helpful, which was a huge loss for us
- 5/5
Great hotel in Chinatown. Staff was very friendly. Room is spacious and comfortable. Surrounding area is great. A fridge and other amenities in the basement. Great New York find.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean, staff were friendly and efficient, location was excellent, and rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable. We were able to leave our bags while we explored on our departure day. I would stay here again!
- 5/5
Can't say enough about this little gem in Chinatown. The staff is so accommodating and the rooms are super clean and comfortable. And the price is extremely reasonable compared to just about any hotel of this quality in Manhattan.
- 5/5
Small hotel in the heart of Chinatown. Front desk staff was accommodating and friendly. They provided us with an extensive list of restaurant recommendations. Rooms were clean.
- 5/5
Area
- 4/5
Good value for money. The bridge across the street is noisy but the sound insulation from the outside is very good - you will only hear a quiet low rumble from the train which was no problem for us. Convenient location in Manhattan. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 4/5
Cozy but limited amenities
- 5/5
Denzel at the front desk is very accommodating and made great recommendations. Room was actually huge and seemed to recently been updated. Will stay again for sure...
- 4/5
Room was ok but the bathroom was not clean, large stains in the worn out tub and on the bathroom door. Bed was not super comfy. It was just ok for a night, having moved here for a single night from a much nicer hotel further uptown, it was easy to see why it was one of the cheaper stays in Manhattan. Fairly easy subway access close by. I’ll try somewhere else next time I visit.
- 1/5
No good
- 2/5
ROOM SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE AND TOOK TOO LONG.
- 3/5
convienent to Little Italy and China town, trains,
- 5/5
The rooms are beautiful. The front desk staff treat you like family. I really enjoyed my experience at this hotel. And there’s great places to sit and grab to grab a cup of coffee.
- 5/5
Small room but at good price in great location for Chinatown and getting to piers and bridges. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Exceptional Hotel ! In Chinatown—few minutes to Subway. Very clean, front desk staff are WONDERFUL! Small rooms—but very clean and quiet. Tucked away from hustle and bustle—will definitely stay again!
- 1/5
Staff were very rude.
- 5/5
非常好的一次旅行,离我的目的地步行几分钟到达,周边有很多饭店🏨很好👍
- 5/5
We really enjoyed how intimate and cozy the space was. The staff was incredibly nice and let us check in a couple hours early. They also offered us several great dining recommendations that were within 10 minutes of the hotel. The comfortable noon check out was also great.
- 5/5
I had a great experience staying at Hotel Mimosa. Check-in was seamless and the staff was friendly and polite. The room was clean and had a TV, full bath and bath products, and double-paned windows for excellent soundproofing. I could still hear the tremors of the train when it passed but wasn't disturbed by street noise or excess train noise. The area is walkable and convenient and the hotel staff provided plenty of restaurant recommendations -- I was so grateful!
- 5/5
This is a great little hotel. The staff are wonderful, rooms are small but have everything you need, clean, and well organized I will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Soundproofed from the outside but not so much in regards to your neighbors.
- 5/5
I loved the printed lists of local recommendations!
- 4/5
They should put the slippers in the room
- 4/5
Decent place to stay and cheap for the area. Pillows were terribly soft. Very noisy area and parking was bad.
- 5/5
Had a great one night stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful to help navigate through the area. Before my check in and after check in… they accommodated me with my belongings so I could continue maximizing my time in the city. Much appreciated and highly recommend to all.
- 4/5
A nice gem of a place. No frills but nice touches. Checkin was efficient and the lobby area was welcoming. The room is small but well thought out. I had essentially everything I needed. They even provided a curated list of off-the-beaten-path food options. The price was budget friendly. Thanks for a great stay.
- 5/5
Fantastic, clean, safe. My room was next to the train but the sound-proof glass and blackout curtains were both great. They provided 4 lists of great places to eat. Turn-down service was perfect. Hotel was silent at night. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.
- 5/5
Terrific location near subways. Scrupulously clean and quiet. Little conveniences in room were remembered
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 5/5
Rooms were clean, recently, renovated, and spacious. It was winter, so we could have the window open, but I can imagine a lack of AC being brutal during the summer. We also had no housekeeping during our entire stay…While we’re not usually picky about it, it would’ve been nice to have been told this when we first checked in. There was only one small garbage in the bathroom, so things piled up and needed to be cleared out by us daily. That’s being super nitpicky, but all in all a great stay, and would recommend to anyone looking for a clean, no frills stay in a great area of Chinatown.
- 5/5
There was no fridge in the room which I wished there was but other then that it was clean and comfy!
- 5/5
very clean and well run hotel.
- 5/5
A great place to stay in a fascinating neighborhood.
- 5/5
great
- 5/5
This is a wonderful gem. Neat as a pin, friendly service, nice products without eco-guilt. Not glamorous, but lovely mid century vibe in my room. Surprisingly quiet. I loved it and will be back.
- 4/5
No frills and teeny tiny room. But perfectly comfortable if you have to stay in this part of Chinatown. Tons of street noise outside. But quite in the room.
- 5/5
The staff was very kind to stay open until I arrived after their closing time. I had left behind a personal item and they reached out to me and let me know.
- 5/5
Not my first time staying here and probably not my last. This hotel is affordable, quiet, convenient, comfortable, and the staff is extra friendly. Highly recommended!
- 5/5
The room was small and the carpet was slightly dirty but they had everything we needed for a good price in a good location, I'll definitely be staying there again
- 5/5
Terrific little Hotel! Very friendly and clean. Room was small but that's NYC.
- 5/5
Mimosa was a great hotel. It’s small and quiet, tucked away in a nice bustling lower east side neighborhood. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - even providing an invaluable list of nearby restaurants and must-sees. We hit a few of the recommended restaurants and were not disappointed. Would absolutely stay at Mimosa again the next time we come through NYC.

Small room but spotless with pleasant staff. Would definitely stay there again.

All new rooms. Small rooms but large bathroom. Good amenities. It was clean, modern and comfortable. The manager told me they were closed all through the pandemic and renovated the whole hotel. Loved my stay. Very safe and nice.

The main problems were the noise (the rooms are definitely not sound proof) and ventilation. You can hear subways passing close by all night long. Worse, though, is the room-to-room and hallway noise. The bed is literally three feet from the door/hallway, and you can hear everything, especially the very loud doors when they close. I also heard the toilet flushing in the room above. What truly made the stay uncomfortable was the lack of HVAC control. You have no control over how warm or cool the room is. To their credit, when I inquired at the front desk after checking in, they were able to turn the temperature down. Do not believe the reviews that say the room size is normal for a NYC hotel. There was barely room for my carry-on suitcase (I had to put it on the small stool next to the desk), and I don't know what two people with two suitcases would do. I have NEVER been 3' away from the door/hallway in a NYC hotel bed. It did seem clean, except the stained carpet, and the TV with Netflix/Amazon Prime was nice (no regular cable channels though). The bakery across the street had coffee. It's also a short 5-minute walk from the subway. The $200 deposit made me uneasy.

Great location in China town. Even though next to Manhattan bridge, surprisingly quiet inside the room.

Hotel Mimosa was one of the best hotels I've stayed in as a leisure traveler in NYC and an outstanding value. My room was modern, clean and modest in size (like many NY rooms) with a comfortable bed, a desk and chair, and rack-style open closet. The bathroom was roomy with a rain, hand-held shower. The hotel was surprisingly quiet both in terms of rarely hearing other guests and externally you rarely heard street noise even though the Manhattan Bridge (which also has subways running across it) is across the street. The staff was friendly, attentive and professional looking in suits. The neighborhood (between Chinatown and the Lower East Side) has a number of public transportation options with easy access to the F, B, and D trains and is somewhat gritty, but is a popular area to stay in right now and always felt safe. Walkable to a number of sights including the Brooklyn Bridge, Little Italy, the Tenement Museum. A number of thrifty restaurant options in the area, too.

Lovely place to stay with friendly staff ready and willing to help with anything

Close to transportation. I had an unpleasant encounter on the phone at the outset when making the reservation. This continued when I arrived at the hotel. However, on my departure the manager and I had an heart to heart conversation and everything ended amicably.
