The hotel is generally well-liked for its convenient location near Chinatown and various subway stations. Guests appreciate the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, as well as the friendly and helpful staff. However, some guests have complained about the small room size, noise issues, and lack of amenities like a fridge and microwave in the room.

I only stayed 1 night, staff was friendly … decent location in Chinatown…

Clean room , amazing location in manhattan Room is small , maybe a small wardrobe, even an ‘open’ one, would help organisation
- 5/5
This was a great place to stay. Rooms are small, but has to be expected, considering it’s New York City. But this was a great little boutique hotel in Chinatown and the location was excellent. The only thing I had an issue with was we had trouble getting hot water for showers. Other than that this place was amazing.

This hotel is located in Chinatown, near Manhattan Bridge. It is well connected to public transport (subway Grand Street and East Broadway, but also buses). The hotel is clean (with everyday room cleaning) and it has a comfortable bed. The staff is super nice and always ready to help for everything. The walls do not really isolate from sounds of the other rooms but from the fifth floor we didn't hear the street noises. We recommend this hotel for anybody who would like to visit New York. The only thing we didn't appreciate much is the moquette on the bedroom floor.

Quiet, clean, great location.

The room was clean and comfortable but where the listings said “interior room”, what it failed to mention was that it was in the basement-the only room there-next to the laundry and in a corridor stacked with boxes and containers. Lots of noise in the corridor from hotel staff in the morning. Also, where it was listed as Lower East Side, it is-in effect-in Chinatown. The only saving grace was the reasonable price.
- 3/5
Room didnt have air conditioning. we had to open our dor to
- 4/5
Bathroom was moldy
- 4/5
It was great value for money. A great location - really easy to walk through Chinatown and to lots of nice bars, cafes and restaurants. It was also very close to the subway station. The room was clean, the aircon worked really well and the bed was comfortable. The room was cleaned everyday and everything was replenished. It was a little bit small. It was a bit noisy one of the nights when there were loud people in the hallway.
- 4/5
Its clean and the staff are nice. Its also very close to where I need to be. The AC wasnt on until I asked, and the bed is a bit too high for me.

Very nice stay, friendly and accommodating staff. More quiet than other higher priced locations, comfy bed, great shower- will be back!

Room was clean but tiny. No amenities at all, but the bed was comfortable enough.

Brian took good care of us. He was kind, helpful, and professional throughout our stay.

The staff is amazing. The building and rooms very clean. Each day they provide water and snacks in the room and they clean the rooms daily. Our room was hot and the air didn’t work but the hotel staff fixed it within the day.

Awesome spot!! Clean rooms and knowledgeable staff. Perfect spot to enjoy LES.

Room 128 was also not acceptable. While I understand basement rooms may be part of the property layout, this room is located directly next to the office, and noise from staff activity is loud and clear. This significantly affected the overall stay experience.
- 5/5
Very clean rooms, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Great location for visiting lower Manhattan. What more could we ask for😇
- 5/5
The room was clean, nice bathroom with good towels, lobby was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. They were even able to supply a kettle and mini fridge. I'd definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
Room was clean. Fine for one night.
- 5/5
A clean and comfortable place to sleep with attentive staff.
- 5/5
We loved this hotel. It was clean, the beds were comfy, we had a great view of the city. Everything was really wonderful. It is in such a great location. Easy access to lots of good food and fun. Not too far from subway. We will being staying there again for sure!
- 4/5
Room was very small was the only issue.

Wonderful staff. The room was very small but we managed it well.
- 5/5
Room was very clean the staff are really nice and helpful I loved it thank you ❤️ best experience ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful at check in.
- 4/5
Decent place to stay- would have been nicer if the men in neighboring rooms weren’t so noisy from midnight to 2:30 AM.
- 5/5
The Richland is a great small hotel. We love the area. The staff was great. Would stay again
- 3/5
Just didn’t like that it was in the basement.
- 3/5
Whatever you do, avoid staying on the first floor. The rooms are right in the lobby, so not only can you see into the room from the street when the door is open, but you will also hear every single noise and guest throughout the night. The staff was able to accommodate us in a new room for our second night, which made a huge difference. It also revealed that the first-floor rooms are much more outdated than the rest. Both rooms had mildew in the shower tiles, but I've seen that in a lot of the older NYC hotels. Other than that, the location is pretty good and pricing is much better than other similar options in the area.

- 5/5
Great place and location. Staff is awesome!
- 5/5
Clean hotel room that has all the necessary amenities. Location is wonderful too. Will stay here again if the price continues to be right!
- 3/5
Our stay wasn’t too expensive, but we could everything outside of our rooms and we had no way to control the air conditioning it was clean and easy to get into the hotel and out
- 5/5
Although the room was small, it met our needs well. It was comfortable and ideal for resting and showering.
- 5/5
Clean room, attentive staff, good location
- 3/5
small rooms, barely any space. The hotel itself is really small and has common bathrooms all the way down with the hotel staff
- 4/5
They kept us stocked up on stuff in the room, seemed clean, faint smell of smoke but nothing intolerable. Nice hotel.
- 4/5
Small hotel but great area for foodies— you are close to Little Italy, Chinatown and Lower East side.
- 5/5
The best
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 5/5
very good
- 1/5
They didn’t even let us in. We had a reservation and they said we were not allowed in after paying everything
- 1/5
They charged me $35 even though it says all taxes and fees are included this $35 charge was separate to the hotel when I got there plus they charge you a deposit deposit didn’t even come back to my account. As far as the day goes, I got there on December 31 at 7 PM. We were playing a little bit of music in my room nothing too crazy loud we were pregaming to go to an event. The people next-door complained. It wasn’t like we’re being uncivilized. It’s New Year’s Eve in New York City. I paid $500 to this website and then I have to pay another 135 when I got there the water wasn’t hot. The room is small. They just know how to take pictures. Honestly, I would never ever book this place again if you’re spending more than $200 for this location, you’re being robbed they still didn’t get back my deposit and if your receipt says all fees are included, it’s a lie
- 3/5
I can hear next door clearly.
- 1/5
2. I paid in advance for the room with all fees included and they are telling me that there are additional fees that are because I booked through Expedia. So not happy with either of those (false advertising) and will be escalating to a manager.
- 5/5

I really value cleanliness
- 5/5
It was a nice stay
- 2/5
One of our travelers got bed bug bites. The door on the hotel room didn't full close. The management was very kind and the location is great, but do not stay here if cleanliness and security are important to you.
- 5/5
Yes, hotel and room very clean. And staff was very helpful and courteous.
- 5/5
Everything clean and nice. Staff is very friendly and kind!!! Great area in Chinatown

The only negative was that there was no chair in the room and so I had to eat my Chinese takeout in the bed.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Great location.
- 4/5
Friendly staff Free in room snacks
- 3/5
There was another issue with very strong cigarette smoke smell that appeared during the night and woke us up. Apparently all bathrooms ventilations are linked and you can smell what is happening in other bathrooms.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Accommodating. Great location.
- 5/5
it was in a walkable neighborhood and very affordable

The hotel is in the heart of Chinatown with easy access to subway and restaurants.
- 4/5
It's a nice, clean hotel, staff is friendly. We did have the room in the basement it can be quiet at night. The staff in the morning gathers around the ice machine there which can wake you up. The night we stayed the Internet went out so we didn't have the best time with no TV and barely cellular service in the basement. Front desk was only able to refund the service fee butwe appreciate at least that.
- 5/5
Staff is very nice, clean rooms. I had a pleasant stay. I would recommend
- 5/5
Great stay, front desk staff were great. The room was comfortable with 2 great beds & AC was cool!
- 4/5
Good value - clean room but small. Staff was very helpful.
- 5/5
I confess I was worried about the location, but it was easier than I expected. It's close to the metro station, which made things easier. We loved the service, the hospitality, and especially the cleanliness and condition of the towels, which were changed daily. I was a little disappointed that we couldn't extend our check-out by an hour; we arrived five hours late. Our flight didn't land on time due to a storm caused by the earthquake in Russia. But other than that, it was an excellent experience.
- 3/5
Maybe don’t market a single bedroom in the basement as interior. Would be better worded as basement room. Weird to be there with cleaning crew. Interior in other meanings means between rooms without windows not a basement.
- 4/5
Located in Chinatown but not typically crowded nor noisy. Close to subway F.
- 4/5
The area was super nice, but the quality of hotel is average nothing too fancy.
- 5/5

- 5/5
What a great stay! It worked out perfect for us while at the art expo
- 5/5
Stuff was great, room cleaning every day and in room you have coffee, snacks and also in check room too
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
For what I needed this hotel was in the perfect location for me. But area it’s in is not exactly my vibe. I didn’t realize I had booked an “interior” room so asked for a window, they obliged but it was in fact a room on the first floor that was right at the lobby. Typical New York hotel, unless you spend a fortune you kind of get what you pay for. But staff were very nice
- 5/5
Clean, friendly, and comfortable. Nice touches like free snacks in the rooms and coffee in the lobby. Great location for exploring lower NYC and easy access to subway. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
All the staff was great! The room was small but we weren't here to stay in it. The beds & pillows were comfy. A cabinet was added in the hallway that was stufffed with water bottles, snacks, extra toilet paper, etc.... We would stay again!!!
- 5/5

- 5/5

- 5/5
Staff was wonderful.
- 5/5
I love the area
- 5/5
Cozy hidden gem, friendly staff, lots of food options nearby, all in all would recommend.
- 3/5
First of all there was no parking, and it was inconvenient ,! Then there’s no Mini refrigerator or microwave , there ice machine was not working , if it wasn’t for one of the employees that helped us get a few things , I wouldn’t have stayed there , we stayed 5 days and I had to make the best of it, but over all it was ok , but will not stay again
- 5/5
Service was friendly, rooms were small and clean, excellent value! I’ve already recommended it to friends.
- 5/5
Hotel very clean

They put us in a basement room with no window. It was kind of weird. The room was also a bit too warm
- 4/5
Small rooms but extremely helpful staff.
- 5/5
The room was amazing. The bed, dont get me started. I slept so good. I rarely sleep well when i travel but this bed made me fall asleep. The people were so nice.
- 5/5
Staff were extremely helpful and room was very clean
- 5/5
Very clean
- 5/5
Very clean and very friendly staff. Not a 5 star hotel but you definitely get your $ worth
- 3/5
Otherwise everyone was very pleasant, the rooms were a fine size, the one who was in charge of cleaning the rooms apologized to us for the wait when I saw her.
- 4/5
Good
- 1/5
They put me in a room right next to the elevator it was loud and the walls were thin.
- 4/5
Booked a city view room, and was able to see the manhattan bridge from the bathroom and bedroom window. It was a nice touch. Bathroom and room itself were extremely clean with the exception of one thing. Half way through my night, I pulled my comforter further down on the opposite of where I was laying, and discovered dried blood. There were multiple splotches of it near the top and further down going towards the middle of it. I was completely disgusted after this and then started thinking what else wasn't clean. I'm not sure how a hotel could miss something like that. It appears as if the linen doesn't get washed and the houskeeper flipped the comforter in hopes of it never being found. It's a shame because until then, I was pleasantly surprised and happy with booking this place last minute.
- 4/5
It’s clean
- 5/5
Super friendly staff & management. Clean, quiet. Comfortable amenities. Near the East Broadway subway station, convenient.
- 4/5
Room was well appointed considering size. Furniture was old and none of it really matched- but it was super clean and the linens were nice and comfy. Staff was very nice. Snacks and water were a really nice touch-- they really do well with making the hotel the best it can be considering the age. Great considering the location and value
- 5/5
Great value and best for the money
- 5/5
The staff creme was very kind with us.
- 2/5
Marketing for this hotel is intentionally deceptive. I needed a room for the night in the city and I saw this hotel. The room pics had a window with the curtain drawn. My room ended up being in the basement with a fake window behind the curtain. There was no air conditioning so the room was exceptionally hot. Being in the basement it was so loud with all the staff working. They said nothing about any of this. Don’t stay here. They’re liars.
- 4/5
Great spot and good value
- 5/5
My go-to in nyc. 7 times. Chinatown translates to great, cheap food every day.
- 4/5
Localation is not bad .

Inconvenient room, noisy staff at 7 am
- 3/5
Was close to where I needed to stay
- 5/5
Lovely stay! Great staff. Able to keep luggage before check in and after check out.
- 5/5
Very nice small hotel. Great service. Snacks, water and coffee complimentary in room
- 4/5
All in all an ok stay, only negative is they do not give any extra. Your room gets as many towels and waters as ppl daily, they will not give any extras what so ever. Other than that ok
- 5/5
Good place
- 5/5
Good place family really like
- 5/5
Comfy rooms and nice stuff
- 5/5
Very clean hotel , right in china town
- 5/5
I like the area because it was so close to delicious sushi 😊
- 5/5
Great affordable spot, in the heart of Chinatown. Walking distance from the Brooklyn Bridge, East River walkway, and easy transit access. Quiet room. Very helpful staff. They went out of their way to let me know when I left behind some valuables when I checked out, and shipped them to me pronto.
- 3/5
Courteous staff. Convenient location near Chinatown. Areas for Improvement: Every room is next to elevators, leading to notable noise disturbances. Late-night conversations in the hallway are clearly heard in the rooms, affecting sleep quality. The design of the entry door latch mechanism causes them to slam loudly, contributing to noise issues. Presence of trash piles on the 2nd-floor balcony. Recommendation for Improvement: Install high-quality door seals in all rooms. This would not only reduce the noise from the hallway but also mitigate the sound of neighbors doors slamming. It's a cost-effective solution that can significantly enhance guest comfort and improve the overall experience.
- 3/5
super small rooms. Near Chinatown. The front desk staff could be a bit more welcoming.
- 4/5
No frills but right on the edge of Chinatown with access to a few subway stations within 5-10 minute walks.
- 4/5
Felt like Fukuoka!
- 4/5
Property is dated but clean. Staff was attentive and helpful.
- 5/5
Great hotel & amazing customer service. We’ll come back again & again & again
- 4/5
Not to bad for the location on price.
- 1/5
This hotel is VERY small the angle of the pictures might make you think otherwise The location is Terrible, in the middle of chinatown, not even the good part, the bad side of chinatown, because when we were in a uber we realized we were in "The bad" part of china town Room service TERRIBLE, they dont make the bed, just pull the sheet back There was a nice gentleman at the front desk THAT"S IT EVertyhing else about this place make me itch No parking either the one public parking around was fully booked the 3 days we were there No food options, train closest train station not that close. Anyways I will not visit again
- 5/5
Nice location. Quite when inside the room
- 4/5
Rooms are compact but location is best .good connectivity.
- 5/5
I would definitely stay again, my only suggestion is a microwave in the lobby would be nice.
- 3/5
It’s a good property if would be strictly on budget, there were other good properties around if you would like to spend a bit more, very small room for a family with adults and kids.
- 5/5
Place little small no parking lot , but clean and good service .. thanks guy
- 4/5
Location.
- 5/5
Clean room - quiet building - friendly staff
- 4/5
Very nice clean property.
- 5/5
The location was great, and the price was reasonable. It was a nice place to stay.
- 5/5
Very clean rooms. Nicely decorated.
- 5/5
friendly staff, near great restaurants within walking distance
- 3/5
It was one of the cheapest hotel i could find in the area, but it was chinatown and the area is just dirty. The rooms were tiny and they didn't even provide toothbrush and toothpaste. There was some brown stuff on the bedding which i hope isn't what i think it was. Rooms are not sound proof. They recently renovated so the bathroom looked clean and nice. The location is near major subs and buses so very convenient. There are no refrigerator or microwave in the room...you have to go to the lobby.
- 4/5
Room in general was clean, hallway had an odd smell, maybe someone had a rough night
- 5/5
While several blocks from the subway the hotel is centrally located in Chinatown and very close to a number of restaurants. The building and room were very clean, well maintained, would stay here again!
