Another basic necessity that was inadequate was the AC. It did not work properly throughout our entire stay. We had the AC set at 70 or below (from 65-70) but the AC rarely ever cooled to these temperatures. Both nights, I woke up in the middle of the night due to stagnant air and the thermostat reading at 75-76! After two hot days walking around the city in June, guests should be able to come back to a cool room. I called the front desk the second night around 2am to ask for a fan, since the AC was reading 76 when it was actually set to 65. Absolutely ridiculous. The fan they brought up had a very loud motor. Two bad nights of sleep. Last note - the bathroom is literally two steps from the entry door to the room. A bit gross to share the front entry point where dirty shoes come in, and clean feet step out of the shower. The bathroom faucet was also very low making it too close to the actual sink so only had a few inches to wash hands.

Very nice. Only complain is price for value was an absolute scam for what I am getting. If it was like half the price or at least like 25 percent off then it is a really decent hotel with everything you need. For example, breakfast in my reservation said it was included with no additional info but when I arrived they said it’s only a 25 dollar coupon when it costs 34 dollars per night (and it doesn’t accumulate over the days). 900 usd a night, I could have went to a luxury hotel for that price.

Someone should update Hotels.com!

Carpet common areas worn Black bathroom looks dirty Chain shower curtain was ridiculous.

Excelente ubicación, excelente relación precio/calidad. Excelente para usar el metro y transporte público.

Friendly staff, room was nice and bed was great. Weak shower water pressure is my only complaint. Would stay here again.

Great front desk. Decent location (excluding the ambulances and fire engines). Housekeeping was lacking. Not many amenities for the price.

Everything from cleanliness to helpful staff. Hands down excellent service. Hope to come back. Excellent location for subway connections and beautiful farmer’s Market short walk away.

We made a reservation for 5 nights and had to move the next morning. Due to smoke/marijuana smell coming into our room and was unable to sleep. Called the front desk several times to tell them. They sent someone to spray the hall and said they were not aware of any problem. The odor was awful and had to leave the next morning to another Hotel. It was inconvenient and unprofessional the way the staff and manager handled this problem.

Right smack of everything; subway station, shops, restaurants.

Loved this place! I wanted to be close to my daughter at NYU and this place was perfect. The room was quiet and the hotel had great amenities. Staff were excellent! I wish I had stayed here sooner.
- 3.5/5
Location was convenient for our needs. They did not have a refrigerator in the room nor any ice dispenser throughout the floors. Staff needed to be reached out to in order to get ice. Bed had thin layer as top cover and not comfy. Had to ask twice for a blanket.

clean, conveniently located to public transit, fairly quiet on the 4th floor

Friendly staff, nice sized room especially for NYC. Lots of nearby restaurants + Target. Will stay here again.

All was good
- 2/5
Ridiculously expensive. They include 18% “Gratuity” in the bill then ask for MORE TIPs (up to 7%) on the card reader which unknowingly you give because you don’t have the printed receipt to see gratuity is already included. When you request the “extra” TIP refunded they tell you it already went through. Shame on them

Hot water took over 5 minutes to reach room. Hotel should install hot water circulator. Sometimes even with hot water in shower water temperature would revert to ice cold.

Location is great. Close to subway. Dark in the room.
- 3/5
I did not find anything special about this hotel. I was expecting a coffee maker/hot water maker for coffee and tea, but there was only a Nespresso maker for espresso. The bathroom was not clean when we checked in as I found a used bar of soap in soap dish and waste can in bathroom full. I thought the location was okay and cabs were easy to find if you didn’t want to take an uber. I feel I paid way over $ for an average hotel.
- 5/5
Staff very friendly. Close to the subway and a lot of restaurants and bars.
- 5/5
The doorman, Alejandro, made us feel like family. Everyone was nice and professional but he was terrific!
- 4/5
Clean room. Shower pressure is weak. Good location with plenty of restaurants, bars, breakfast, and entertainment options.

The location was convenient and the restaurant's food and drinks were very good. The fire alarm went off early in the morning which was not fun but the staff was accommodating. I would stay here again.

Extremely convenient to the Metro. Coffee shops, wine store across the street. High floor had floor to ceiling windows. Quiet. Front desk staff excellent, shout out to Alejandro our helpful doorman!
- 4/5
The overall experience was good. The location is excellent — close to the subway, surrounded by restaurants, and very walkable. There is a fire station nearby, so you may be awakened by sirens a few times during the night. The room was in good condition. However, the bathroom sink is very shallow and not very practical. I wish there were more counter space around the sink to place toiletries and personal items.
- 5/5
The hotel is very well located - a block from Union Square ( which has a lovely four day a week public outdoor fresh food market ) and is in the midst of a miriad of shops and restaurants and close to all the subway lines at Union Square. The rooms are ample sized and very well outfitted with facilities and clothes storage and the staff - from the front desk to the restaurant .. to the assisting staff are all wonderful.
- 4/5
Very later room cleaning. Partly refurbished hotel rooms and bar very good
- 4/5
Great location and nice lobby! The room the first two light was very dark and small. They finally upgraded me the third night on the 8th floor which was much better as I am also a world of Hyatt member. Not a free bottle of water in the room! Some rooms have very little light. And shower was not practical

Clean, nice room, great staff
- 5/5
The room was clean, spacious for two people, and very comfortable. Staff was very nice, amenities good, and the lounge area nice to relax in after a day out/pre-dinner. The location is also perfect, right next to Union Square - walkable to many good areas, but also right next to a subway station to get uptown easily. Highly recommend staying here. Will definitely book again!
- 4/5
Good location and clean. Only issue was mattress - needed a flip (significant “valleys”). Would stay again.
- 2/5
Small room. Noise, doors slamming all night. Didn't like the courtyard view. Location was convenient.

Exceptional
- 4.5/5
The room was small, but as expected - it's NYC. The bed was very comfortable. We were upgraded to a city view room. Even on the 9th floor we could hear the traffic outside. It did not prevent us from sleeping, though. The hotel is in a good location. Close to the subway and lots of restaurants. The "free" breakfast was a bit confusing and we had to ask about it twice. They gave us a $25/pp credit towards our breakfast. The food was good and with tip we only paid an extra $1. (When we received our bill, they did not credit $50, only $10, so I needed to call to get that fixed.) The water bottles had a note on them that said it's only free for certain Hyatt reward members. The front desk did say that water was included for us. I think we got charged for that - it came up as a mini-bar charge, but we got that credited back to us after I called.

Comfortable room, spacious lobby and bar area, nice people, great location.
- 4/5
The hotel lobby was great and the staff was courteous. My room was freezing cold and the bathroom was dated and not fully cleaned. There was soap scum and debris in the shower. It is a shame because the location was perfect for my trip.
- 2/5
Valet should be easily accessible from outside of hotel. I had to park my car in a loading zone and go inside to finally get someone to help with my car. No valet or doorman to assist with luggage or parking of car, etc. No proper doorman or valet

Modern layout Food service no good. Property is getting old.
- 4/5
Excellent location near Union Square stations, hotel was clean, and great bar. My only knock is the hallways and rooms are starting to look a little tired. Still 4.5 out of 5 and the location makes up for all else.
- 0.5/5
Nothing I liked. The photos they have is from HOW THE HOTEL WILL BE LATER, not like it is now. i did booked my stay with Hyatt Square New york but when i came there it was not like on the photos, the lobby was on the other side, everything closed outside and a very silly door on the side and A LOT of construction work. Totally disaster. I told the woman in the lobby I could not stay there because I do feel scamed. I asked for refund and the woman in the lobby was nice and told me that she understood my situation and I could just leave and get refund free of charge. I went to other hotel in the neighbourhood and enjoyed. BUT I never got my refund from the hotel and they dont answered my emails or anything when i tried to contact them. Just please get aware and go to some other hotel f.ex. motto by hilton is very nice on simular price.
- 3/5
No valet parking. Had to take care of my own car.
- 3/5
Greeted with big smiles, room was nice. The whole hotel lobby is under construction and I did not know that when booking ... it would have been nice to know that ... I do like to enjoy hotel lobbys in the morning with coffee while others with me are sleeping .
- 2/5
the location was convenient, and the bed was comfortable. the hotel is under renovation. it looked bad because of the renovation construction. the night staff was exceptionally rude and unhelpful. the phones weren’t working, so they couldn’t call to tell me my room was ready and i couldn’t get in touch with them when i needed anything. the rooms didn’t have basic things, like a fridge, mini bar, slippers, etc. for a four star hotel, it felt more like a 2 star. there wasn’t even a doorman. insane. way overpriced, and i should have stayed down the street literally anywhere else.

Perfect location, nice restaurant, nice bar, clean rooms, very convenient. Everyone is friendly.

Clean room, clean hotel, nice bar & gym. Happy staff. Big shout out to Acer in bar. Food lets the hotel down - sent pasta & steak & chips back as very cold. Replacement chips hot but steak & pasta still cold. Steak also over cooked.

- 5/5
Excellent downtown option. Lovely rooms and lobby. Excellent housekeeping.
- 3/5
The staff were very nice. The only real issue I had was that I could absolutely not turn the shower on. I genuinely thought I was going to rip it off the wall with how hard I was trying. I tried to call guest services to figure it out and no one answered. Also, not a huge deal but there were a couple of slices of pizza just sitting in the fridge. It didn't ruin my trip just a little gross.

Excellent stay - just 2 nights. Great staff & can’t beat the Union Square location. So many great restaurants, Strand bookstore, close to Gramercy & the Village. Room was cute & clean!
- 5/5
Well located, great restaurant and friendly staff.
- 3/5
After a 9-day stay, I can say that the hotel is run in a rather amateur manner. Our stay began with sarcastic jokes from the receptionist we dealt with during check-in, a window that wouldn’t fully close and let cold air in, and unnamed managers who responded to complaints by saying “we’re looking into it” but never actually did. This is a hotel where, despite the sheets being freshly changed, you notice the smell of sweat as soon as you lie down, and where your door is frequently knocked on by staff, each time followed by an awkward “oh sorry, I knocked by mistake.” It is also a hotel with an internet setup that works in the room but not in the lobby. This is also a hotel where, after a false fire alarm in the middle of the night, the phone didn’t work, we had to go outside into the snow, received no information from anyone, and no announcement was even made. On another day, due to a broken elevator, you end up carrying your luggage down the fire stairs. I also witnessed many friends staying at the hotel being charged on their credit cards without any valid reason; once they disputed the charges, the transactions were reversed. Despite its great location, the hotel is understaffed — both in numbers and in competence. Even the coffee machine doesn’t work properly. The gym is filled with expensive equipment, yet there isn’t even a single yoga mat. There is always something missing.

The staff is terrific! The hotel is in a great location, and the rooms are quiet, clean, and comfortable.

Not great shower water pressure on 11th floor. Bathroom sink faucet about 2 inches from sink cant get in a yeti to fill. Soaps in shower mounted pretty high, hard to dispense. Pillows are overfilled and unusable due to height on neck flexion. Bed comfortable, room adequate. Staff very pleasant.

The location and room was great!
- 3/5
Very small rooms, narrow hallways, small closet space...
- 5/5
Rooms are small but well functioning. Except for king rooms with sink and shower in the room, it’s a poor design and steam ends up in the sleeping area making it damp. Fortunately the staff are wonderful and make up for the hotel’s shortcomings.
- 4/5
Lobby was under construction, and entrance was weird at night.
- 5/5
Comfortable, quiet room and attentive front desk staff. We enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
Wonderfully appointed new bar with a delicious new menu of bites and larger dishes. Loved the artichokes.

Great service on multiple occasions. Rooms are quite small with very little storage.
- 5/5
i live in the area. my apt is being renovated so I know the hood.
- 5/5
Very friendly and accommodating staff!
- 3/5
The room was described as a "courtyard view," which was accurate, if by courtyard they mean dirty, dark alley. The room had one King size bed, but there was barely room for anything else in it. There was only about 3 feet of space on each side of the bed. The sheets belt like cardboard and the bottom sheet wasn't fitted, so ended up bunched up under me by the morning. The towels were rough and tiny. It was like drying off with a hand towel after a shower. The bathroom was similarly small. There was a small vanity with a sink that took up the entire top. It did have a couple of drawers and some shelves in it for towels and toiletries, but there really wasn't much space to put anything. The sink is large, but very shallow, so the space between the faucet and the bottom of the sink was so short that one's hands hit the bottom when washing. The lighting was terrible in there, making it hard to see in the mirror to shave or for my wife to put on makeup. They used black grout between the floor tiles, to hide the black mildew around the edge of the floor and shower. The entire room looked worn out and in disrepair, besides the poor functionality. Ot wasn't with the $600/ night even if that's reasonable by NYC standards.
- 2/5
The hotel is under major construction and at times there was one service elevator that was the only one in use. You would think that they would do something to make up for this. I have stayed at this hotel before, but doubt that I will be going back.
- 2/5
Normally I don't write these. Was looking for a cheaper place next to my office for work. The floor in my room was dirty. The shower tile and bathroom floor tile were pretty gross. Stains everywhere.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
My room wasn’t cleaned very well and my medical face mask was knocked onto the floor and left there for when I returned to the room. There was also major construction I wasn’t aware of before booking which resulted in having to use the service elevator which was super crowded and had long waits for. Also the AC unit needed to be updated every few hours so you’d go to bed comfortable and at midnight it would automatically turn back to hot so I’d wake up at like 4am and have to reset it. Overall very disappointing stay.

- 3/5
Hotel was under construction and air conditioning didn’t work the second night
- 4/5
Hotel was undergoing some renovations but all in all was great for the price.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
I was on the 9th floor and it was the quietest NYC room I’ve ever slept in.
- 3/5
Great location and rooms were clean and comfortable. They are doing renovations to lobby area so no real lobby area currently. Also, only one elevator was working during my stay making getting in and out of the hotel laborious.
- 4/5
Unfortunately they were having renovations during our stay and there was nothing on the posting warning about this
- 3/5
Very humid in the room. Bed Linens including pillows had a distinct odor. Very unpleasant for sleeping.
- 5/5
Perfect location, we had an inner room, which was super quiet, didn’t have any of the typical Manhattan street noise. They are renovating the lobby, but did an excellent job providing temporary lobby and front desk space.
- 1/5
This place is a dump
- 5/5
The construction is coming along with speed and the rooms are great.
- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
Would definitely stay again! Staff was very friendly and the room was comfortable. Close to everything…. Restaurants, trains.
- 5/5
Great location. Decent space in room especially for NYC. Clean. Nice staff.
- 5/5
I was very impressed with the friendliness and general good spirit of the staff. They clearly have a great dynamic. Michelle at the front desk made sure that I got a quiet room, which is important because I am bad at sleeping. One small negative is that there is no ice machine or fridge, so I had to ask for ice daily to cool down some snacks I kept in my room. I ended up getting food poisoning because I ate something that had gone off, but I think that’s more a “me problem” than anything to do with the hotel staff.
- 5/5
Newly renovated. Very clean and staff were very helpful and friendly
- 4/5
Hotel renovation made the hotel less appealing, but the staff was great. Room also quite small. And daily resort fee far too high!
- 5/5
Otherwise, housekeeping did a great job and most of the staff are really friendly.
- 5/5
Very clean and modern hotel. The check-in staff was so friendly and personable!
- 5/5
Got to check in early. Nice staff. Clean room.
- 5/5
Property was clean and had a good gym!
- 5/5
Really nice spot - but its under renovation so fairly noisy and elevators weren't always operating properly.
- 4/5
Was disappointed that the hotel was under construction, which was not mentioned when we made the reservation. Design of shower door allows for water to soak the entire bathroom. Coffee not available in the lobby - was completely empty with many of the sides (sugars, cup sleeves, etc) also missing.
- 4/5
Very helpful Sunday staff checkin, when I needed it ! Valet Parkers went out of their way for us in a difficult trafficky situation while my passenger was medically compromised. I am grateful. Construction is inconvenient for easy access through the hotel to dining and bar. Barkeep was friendly. Food was fine. Bedding and room comfortable, but the thermostat said to open a window because of very poor indoor air quality. Yikes.
- 3/5
Hidden resort fees. Hotel is under serious construction. Great location
- 5/5
Lovely hotel in lively downtown neighborhood. Comfortable and quiet rooms. Stylish and clean.
- 4/5
Wasn't told about the construction until I got there
- 3/5
Rooms are small and old. Shower pressure is bad, the street is noisy and the building was under renovation.
- 2/5
Under construction. My room was old, dirty and messy when I checked in
- 4/5
Our stay was great. When we arrived the front the desk was very kind, friendly, and very helpful. However the person working check in when we left was rude and not helpful at all.
- 5/5
This is a very nice hotel. At present, it is undergoing a major renovation on the ground floor, and getting to the elevators is inconvenient at best. The front entrance is less than inspiring. These are the reasons I lowered my rating on Property condition and facilities.
- 2/5
its under construction it is like everything in NYC what you pay and what you get for it is in no relation. A ripp off.
- 4/5
Also checked in late and tried calling to let them know I wouldn’t be arriving until midnight but couldn’t get anyone on the phone. Just rang and rang and rang.
- 5/5
Perfect room very quiet. Very comfortable bed
- 3/5
I didn’t know the hotel lobby and other facilities were under construction. The room was ok, but the elevators were very dirty and the temporary lobby is not one you’d want to hang out in. Paid more than $700 for one room with two beds — not worth the money at all. I will not be back.
- 5/5
LOVE the service here and all the staff are so kind and genuinely seem to care about the guests *brothers at the front desk Lonnie and Donnie!*. Hotel was under renovation so a few things were not as polished as when I've stayed here before but nonetheless it's my fave hotel near Union Square.
- 5/5
They are in the middle of a renovation, so I'm sure it will all be great in the future!
- 4/5
Great
- 4/5
Although the hotel was undergoing some refurbishments to the ground floor area - there was no noise or other disruption at the room level. Staff were great - and this was a relaxed and pleasant hotel. Location was very good for us.
- 5/5
Wonderful especially the employees at the hotel
- 5/5
Even though the lobby was under construction, it did not matter. Staff were friendly and apologetic. The room was quiet (faced courtyard). We will be back.
- 5/5
It was quiet, relatively central location to walkable areas, close to the subway, great restaurants in the area, and staff was great. Wish i was told more about how to access the wifi or a reminder of my check out time and other accomodations when I checked in. It is undergoing construction but i could not hear anything
- 2/5
under construction, loud, given ADA room when most rooms open, stuff in bathroom falling apart, toilet leaking but aside from that it was great ;)
- 4/5
Very convenient for everything. Property was under construction. Unfortunately, there was road work going on outside and heard the jack hammer all night, not the fault of the hotel. The thermostat in the room didn't work well. The temp kept rising even though we had it set to 68. The heat went up to 78.
- 2/5
The cleaning is terrible, I threw out a straw on my first day and it landed on the side of the trashcan and that’s where it stayed for 5 days until I noticed and threw it out. When I explained all the issues I was having I asked for a late check out for the inconvenience, and very hesitantly they gave me 2h of late check in which didn’t really help much since my flight was at 9pm and needed to stay at the hotel at least until 5pm
- 5/5
Great place
- 3/5
Room was good but some quips- noisy room (next to elevators, construction noise). Bathroom door wouldn't stay closed. No fridge. No maid service. Great fitness center though.
- 5/5
The staff, top tier! Super hopeful and very friendly. The hotel is currently experiencing renovations, information regarding repairs is available for customers and they’ve utilized the space wisely.
- 5/5
Very convenient location close to everything we wanted to do

Great location. Wonderful staff. Clean rooms. Highly recommend.

The room was very nice. The people at the front were very nice, the hotel has very small lobby and a small little bar and ok restaurant. So it’s a fine day in the village if you need to be in this area, not bad at all.

Very nice stay, close to NYU

Light switches television and heating controls all either malfunctioned or didn’t work. Place smelled like weed. Bathroom wasn’t very clean.

They put me on the 2nd floor said good room . My view was the air conditioning units and the train tan under my room all night . Horrible experience. January during the week . They had plenty of rooms . Just lazily gave it to single female .

The staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. Location was conveniently located to great restaurants, entertainment and Union Square farmer's market.

For $600 per night I was given a room next to elevator shaft which made loud noise every time anyone used the elevator. This went on all night long, and was especially busy from3:45-5am. Request to change room was denied. No decent hotel would have placed anyone in this room.

Super close to all the things we needed. Friendly staff from doorman to front desk to services. Loved all the little extras!

Incredibly helpful, friendly & accommodating staff. The property itself exceeded my expectations - very cool restaurant and bar with a great vibe. Nice room which was more spacious than a typical NYC hotel room.

Shower glass should be cleaned for every new reservation. Rm 611 curtains where water stained across the bottom.

The check-in personel had a poor attitude and had little flexibility in checking in.

Everyone was very kind of the room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised as this is my first time in a Hyatt. It won’t be my last.

Very nice hotel stay.

The woman who checked me in (Tasha?) couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. She was an incredibly welcoming presence in a city that can be pretty tough.

Very tired property. It needs a serious upgrade.

This was a college drop off and everything was fantastic but the in-room snacks were too organic. Regular snacks would have been appreciated and consumed!!

was charged for our French Bulldog a one night stay, despite the "pet friendly" notation in description! This charge is hidden on the Hotel.com app, it took the desk clerk a few hours to find it as he flagged me down in lobby before dinner!!!

Very nice establishment. Staff was all very kind and quick with any requests

I have stayed at this hotel a few times but for some reason the stay this time was so horrible. I had a mix up with check in which the staff was so nice and accommodated me in another room. Unfortunately that room had no fridge like the entire fridge was gone and there was no chair to put your stuff on. Be careful also leaving things behind you may never see it again.. I don’t know if I want to come back to be honest

Conveniently located with many walkable eateries and shopping.
