Newport Beach Marriott Bayview

The check-in and waitstaff were very kind and accomodating. The room was exactly as described. There was not a breakfast buffet as described on Expedia and there was not a pool bar as described on the website which was disappointing. Lastly, the photos do a great job of hiding how close to the freeway the pool is. I wish I would have looked at an overhead map before booking.

Night one, one of the managers JUST WALKED IN AND STARTED TALKING TO MY KIDS, I heard and got up and went to see what was going on and a woman in a blue button up told me “I’m doing inspections but it’s okay, EXCUSE ME, you just LET YOURSELF IN? For the first 2 nights there was an early Morin noise it sounded like someone was banging metal on the rails of another room.

This information was never reflected in the initial pricing package for the room and it caught me by surprise. Hopefully you will understand. Thanks

Only highlight was the pool and gym. Overall, the stay did not meet expectations in terms of room condition and comfort. The room felt below standard and not in line with what one would expect, and this was disappointing given the brand. Parking came with additional fees that felt high, and WiFi access required Marriott Bonvoy enrollment, which added unnecessary friction to what should be a straightforward service experience.

The property is fine, however parking is $45 per night and a $25 fee per hour for late check out is pretty ridiculous. The rooms are not updated, the bathrooms in the lobby were not clean, and the fitness center had a machine down. For those extra fees, I expected better.

The restaurant food was very good and the lobby and adjoining patio had a wonderful ambiance. A couple of free bottles of water to make coffee with would have been appreciated.

It was a great location for what we were there to do.

They changed our room to the 6th floor. When we got to the new room and turned the TV off we noticed a constant hum. Called the front desk and they sent an engineer who first said it was a guest taking a shower. We insisted that the noise had been going on for over an hour after which he said the main exhaust fan for the building was right above our room and he couldn't do anything about the noise. He also said he had problems with his ears so couldn't hear very well. So much for giving us a nice quiet room. They switched us to another room on the first floor facing the parking lot. In the morning we noticed strong gasoline fumes since the room was feet away from the parking lot. Also strong smell of frying bacon and eggs. No safe in any room. Staff were super friendly but the hotel is not worth even two stars. Overnight parking is $45/night. We were able to find street parking for the second night. Constant noise from planes flying over. Gardener using blower at 8AM on first morning and 7:30AM on second morning. We had been in constant email contact with the director and she said there was no exhaust fan below (I guess she meant above but said below in the her email) our room. Would not recommend this hotel if looking for a quiet room.

The 1 bedroom suite was spacious and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay and will return again.

Terrible check in as they didn’t give us what we booked originally. Tried to make up for it which was nice and gave us what we wanted, but only because I complained. Unfortunately the room was worse than what we had and still dirty!! Parking was $45 a freaking night too!! We stayed in 3 Marriott Hotels over the last week and a half and this was the worst one of the 3. I I feel like this was supposed to be a higher end Marriott, and we were very disappointed and we won’t be back again.

This place is more like a motel.No valet, had to drag my bags from the parking lot.....$45 dollars parking, bathrooms and rooms are very dated, and paint,and bathroom floor falling apart. Mini bar closed for an hr. when its time to check in.....Wifi cost $15...Check in is 4PM, and check out 10AM. Housekeeping knocking on door at 9:45. I will never stay here again. Very nice staff, you can tell they dont feel great about the condition of this hotel. Sad experience....Location is great, and views breathtaking. I hope someone comes and buy this place, and get it back on track!

Expect what you see on expedia to be very different from what you get when you arrive to this hotel.

The parking is expensive and inconvenient. Parking and luggage is all self-service and difficult if you have luggage. Rooms and dingy and it took a long time to get bedding for couch bed.

Water was out of service for my stay (4 days).

The water was off during the majority of my stay and there was no accommodations for this situation. I was not happy about that

Requested to the front desk prior to going inside the room for a crib for my little ones and wasn’t delivered. Oh and also, I wasn’t aware or notified the day before that the water was gonna be out temporarily. Like get it together!

We were surprised that parking and internet are not included, which seem to be standard amenities (at least for a hotel located in a suburban area) these days. Room is clean and comfortable. Nice pool.

We had a lovely room, with a living room, tub and separate shower stall, comfortable mattress, very clean, friendly staff. Everyone at the hotel from front desk to restaurant, to room service was extremely nice and accommodating. The location just off Jamboree is convenient, and the views of the back bay are beautiful and serene. Highly recommend.

For three days straight, I had to endure the disgusting smell coming from the toilet. Every time I used it, I reported the odor, but nothing was ever fixed. On top of that, the internet speed was terrible. The hotel simply said that no other guests seemed to want faster internet, and there was no visible effort to make any improvements. Furthermore, during breakfast, the staff were extremely unfriendly and unpleasant. I truly believe the main problem with this hotel lies in its staff.

The room was clean and comfortable. Close to airport. There is airplane and highway noise but overall it was a good value. Food was very good with generous portions.

When I checked in they did not have the room type I had reserved, but after an hour, the front desk really did a great job getting me in the room type I had reserved.

Great room with decent size living space as well as a separate bedroom. Bathroom was split into shower/toilet - bathtub - vanity which left the vanity area a bit small. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

We decided to break up a long drive and spend one night. This was a great choice. The room was spacious, separate sitting area and two ways to enter the bathroom made everything easy and relaxing. We will definitely choose Marriott again.

The $43/day parking fee and $15/day WiFi fee were unexpected and excessive. This was really hotels.com fault because under amenities it said “ parking available”. It wasn’t until you clicked on amenities for further detail did the charges show. I did not click thru when I was booking because I was only planning a 1 night stay and didn’t really care about amenities. The hotel itself was clean and fine. Not worth the hotel fees plus all the extra fees for amenities. I would not have booked there had I known there was $58 additional for basic stuff.

Staff members were polite, efficient and friendly. Parking is very expensive ($42/night) and bottled drinking water is significantly overpriced. Water bottles in the room will set you back $9 each, while vending machine water is $4 per bottle (cash only vending machines).

The property was beautiful in an upscale area, and so convenient to the nearby Orange County Airport. We loved the layout of our room, with separate living and sleeping rooms and a vwry private bathroom setup.
