Hair still in the shower, check in couldn’t find our reservation until I showed them our reservation from the email. Looks like we were checked in on the sleep in side which the rooms were cheaper and not in the main stay side. Other than that basic hotel not worth 139 a night
- 3/5
Well, that was a few things wrong. My room was extra smaller, and I thought it would’ve been. Then I didn’t have any towels or loofah to take a shower with. They also didn’t have any body wash or shampoo or conditioner, and a bottles that were in the shower. So basically they had a a bottle of shampoo and conditioner on the shower wall and they were both empty. My room didn’t get cleaned when I was there for more than one day. Then I never got my deposit back. I’m still waiting to hear back from someone about that because there was no damages in my room or smoking. Other than that, the hotel was cleaned nice people for the staff.

Like raw sewage. I would never return to this place. And I don't suggest you go here unless of course you enjoy.Spending money and being treated like garbage
- 1/5
The way you are treated as a paying customer in this place is the absolute worst. They have one staff member by the name of deborah, who is amazing, but everyone else is pure trash. The owner is the absolute worst run from this place
- 4/5
Clean but would have preferred some Turkey bacon

The room was very clean, the bed was so comfortable. I wish I stood an extra day. The breakfast in the morning was terrific. Everything was hot and ready to go including the coffee. I would definitely stay again.
- 1/5
Very disappointed with my stay here. We’re not given the room we booked when we arrived. Were downgraded without explanation. When we went in the room, the counters were not wiped (had crumbs and coffee splatter on them). The entire hotel smelled like stale cigarettes. It was disgusting.

My stay at the MainStay Hotel was truly enjoyable! The staff was welcoming, professional, and went out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable. The room was clean, cozy, and well-maintained, with all the little touches that made it feel like home. I also appreciated how peaceful and quiet the atmosphere was—perfect for relaxing after a long day. The location was convenient, and the breakfast was a nice bonus. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would absolutely stay here again!
- 3/5
The breakfast was decent. Sausage, waffles (you can make) some days bacon, oatmeal and other continental breakfast items.

We did not have the housekeeping staff clean our room and provide us with clean linens for our entire stay. We needed to ask for towels and the emptying of our waste baskets.
- 2/5
Unfortunately, I did not feel safe during my visit. There were a lot of issues definitely loitering near the entrances and appears to be inadequate security. It’s very strange considering the area is very nice ( Oak Brook) .The hotel is pretty much vacant, and It is under construction, the loitering was not construction workers. Shortly, after checking in, I encountered an individual in the stairwell who had an open suitcase filled with items that still had store tags on them. The person made several trips from his car to the entrance & did NOT have a room key - waited for me before entering, he mentioned that he knew I just checked in & asked about the floor I stayed on. As A solo traveler, I packed up & LEFT the property. I did not go to the front desk, I chose safety first and left the hotel and stayed elsewhere. This encounter was not good. I notified the property when I returned home, I requested a refund- I was told sorry not our policy & because I didn’t report it to the front desk. Again safety first. Don’t stay here.

Our room was not super clean. You could see dirt and grime in the corners of the room and the bathroom was worse. The duvet covers on the beds definitely need tended to and washed, but pillows and sheets appeared clean.
- 5/5
Check in process was very simple and accurate! They had a wheelchair that my mom could use because our room was the furthest from the only working elevator. Our room was on the 2nd floor. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was nice and updated! However, there was no ice bucket. Minor inconvenience.

My husband and kids were in town attending a funeral. The good reviews were NOT accurate. The ONLY good thing about this hotel was the sweet and helpful lady at the front counter who tried to help my husband and kids find a halfway decent room. Unfortunately, she was not successful. The room was dark and dingy. It was WAY too small to cram two queen beds in. The bathroom did not look like it was cleaned. The shower was stained. There were pubic hairs in the shower door track. The AC didn’t regulate at a comfortable temperature. It kept turning off. The tv would lose connection. The beds did not seem to have clean sheets. There were many strands of hair in one of the beds!! My husband and kids were so tired from traveling all day and did not want to sleep there. My daughter cried because she wanted to leave. They put towels on the pillows because they didn’t trust the cleanliness of the sheets, especially after seeing the hairs. They were all up before 6 am, and couldn’t wait to get out of there. I felt helpless because it was a non refundable room. It was NOT worth $180.
- 2/5
Yes one of the rooms we book smelled really bad like feet
- 2/5
Pros: Location (near many restaurants and shops) Parking Cons: Poor customer service Once housekeeping staff leaves, you can’t get sheets or any other items besides towels
- 4/5
The room was clean and comfortable. It looked liked it was newly renovated. Staff was great, breakfast was "real" not that cheap stuff at other hotels. The only reason it got a 4 was because the internet was horrible and i needed it for work so I had to tether to my cell phone and the lighting was aweful in the room. One small lamp on tje counter and one small arm like lamp on the night stand. It was pretty depressing. It wouldnt have been so bad for one night, but definitely not more.

Stay was excellent!

Front desk check-in was great. But the TV never worked (no signal) for the 2 days i stayed. Calls to front desk were met with "oh well" attitudes. Toilet seat was loose, and occasionally the door didnt latch right away.
- 5/5
Everyting was great

The room itself is nice but there was mold in my bathroom. There is no vent which is the cause to the issue probably. We had to move all of our stuff after we unpacked.
- 5/5
Overall very comfortable
- 5/5
Nice all the way around it was out of my way but worth it. I went to otjhee hotels but i left out once i saw the room or smelled it. So i look up this hotel i would go out my way againn

This property is currently being updated. If you don't mind a little dust in the common areas, this is a great place. We spent 3 nights here and would definitely stay again.

Need to improve their cleanliness.
- 2/5
Very poor experience, I understand the low price but come on, our sheets were all broken, bathroom with stains all over and in 6 days we stay not once they change our towels we had to go down to get them cause even when I told the manager he didn't do crap and to top it all their front desk guys that are management have the worst attitude. The pool is non serviceable and don't have a main entrance plus the free breakfast you have to get it at their sister hotel.

It was good in general, but I could find a lot of hair on the shower, sink and even on the toilet, it is very disgusting to remove the hair from someone else with your hands…. It is a must that the bathroom is cleaned impeccable…

I am grateful for the front desk staff who made check-in easy; Diane was helpful, friendly, and thoughtful. The breakfast area was clean, and the staff were nice. Overall, - 4 adults- our stay was comfortable. We were in town for an event and spent minimal time in our two queen-bed suite. There's plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. They do not have a pool since it's under construction. The room lighting is very dim, with only one nightstand lamp and a small desk reading lamp so not a great space to do laptop work. The suite layout is very cramped, with not much space to move around. The kitchenette area is about two feet from the bed. Also, they do not have an outdoor sitting area, and the layout between the two hotels- Sleep Inn and Mainstay is awkward, so we use the exterior exits to go to the breakfast area which is located on the Sleep Inn side of the facility. The breakfast was the same on the two days we were there, and it was so-so.

Great value and location, easy access to Yorktown and Oakbrook shopping centers, and the Morton Arboretum. Convenient kitchenette. Very clean, great staff, good breakfast. My request would be for another lamp in the room as there are none over the kitchen sink and one by the bed.

Room and hotel are very clean though construction continues. The free breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Room is clean, comfortable, all the amenities of home BUT as soon we entered room there was very strong smoky smell. Called front desk to complain of smoke. Asked to change rooms. He said room was a non-smoking, and no other rooms are available. Traced the smell coming from bathroom ventilation. The next day we could smell smoke in hallway. Again the front desk said they’ll ask a housekeeping supervisor to check room and report back to me. Nothing happened. She again repeated all rooms are non-smoking. They gave no other explanation. Both times the front desk crew were polite and sincere but be honest! Someone should’ve informed us earlier so we could make other arrangements. That’s the unacceptable part.

We were supposed to stay at the Main Stay Suites and when we arrived, we had been moved without being asked to the Sleep Inn, and were not offered any type of refund as these rooms are cheaper rooms! A bit disappointing… the Sleep Inn was nice, just didn’t have the table, kitchenette, etc. we were expecting!
- 5/5
I loved the variety of restaurants and stores around the area. The internet was a little spotty for me, but I connected my VPN and it worked fast. The bathroom was a little dirty, but it wasn’t too bad. Lovely stay!

The room was very dirty. Blood and bodily fluids on the bed sheets. Brown stains on bedding and apolstered chair. Short, wirey, curley hairs in bed. Restroom not clean.

The room was very comfortable I had access to anything I wanted to needed. Noise level was excellent!!! Very quiet and the blackout curtains really were super to have. Easy access to what I needed to do with a little retail therapy thrown in.

Location: You must have a car to get anywhere from this hotel, except for Costco, which is about a 15-minute walk away. This is helpful if you're staying in a room with a kitchenette and want to eat healthy. Otherwise, there is absolutely no way to walk, run, or exercise outside—the hotel is surrounded by big roads with few or no crosswalks. The whole area is not designed for pedestrians, which wasn’t obvious when I chose the location based on Google Maps. Breakfast: Standard offerings: scrambled eggs, coffee, sausage, cereals, yogurt, fresh apples and oranges, etc. Exercise Room: The gym has a good set of dumbbells, but only one stationary bike. The air conditioning/ventilation is very poor, and there’s a strong smell of cleaning chemicals. Room Cleanliness: I wish the floors were cleaner. I found heaps of pubic hairs in the corners of the room—truly disgusting. Windows: I wish I could open the window. It is designed to open, but it’s bolted shut. Kitchenette: The fridge is large, but the kitchenette lacks basics like a salad bowl, a kettle for boiling water, and even table spoons. This makes it quite limited. Suggestion: If providing these items by default isn’t possible, please make them available upon request. I asked for a salad bowl at reception, was told it would be brought the next morning, but it never arrived. Management: The managers seem to care—I saw someone (looked like the manager or owner) talking to guests at breakfast and handing out QR codes for reviews. However, my request for a salad bowl was ignored. Smoke-Free Policy: Although the hotel claims to be smoke-free, the corridors often smelled strongly of smoke throughout my 6-night stay. No action was taken. Housekeeping: My room was never cleaned or attended to during my entire 6-night stay. I ran out of rubbish bags and kitchen towels, which was unpleasant.

Overall nice, and very nice breakfast but our hallway had trash on floor both days we were there.
- 4/5
Very close to Costco. Had an option for early checkin with a reasonable fee. Helpful front office person.

The check in and breakfast area was quite a distance from the assigned room but we were told we could park close to the room so that really wasn’t an issue either.

The hotel was absolutely amazing. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay in the beautiful suite and fantastic breakfast
- 1/5
The hotel was very nice and very clean but they allowed a huge party in the parking lot until 11 PM. Bright lights on, veryloud and management did nothing.
- 4/5
Bad part - there was pieces of broken glass in room which could had injured anyone. Light was not working but upon request it was addressed immedietly.

A wonderful room four a four night trip to Chicago. Thank you for a clean, safe, spacious stay.
- 4/5
Very large property, plenty of parking. Room was clean with nice kitchen area. Breakfast was good and for the same price I would stay here again.
- 2/5
Management staff was horrible. The English they spoke was horrible and I’m getting really tired of all these foreign people in hotels. It’s horrible and they are the ones that ice needs to get not the Mexicans that actually want to feed us. They need to get these Indian people that keep taking our money.
- 4/5
Nice clean room. Comfortable bed. Will stay again if in the area. Breakfast was not great- the usual fair.
- 5/5
We chose it because it made our trip easier-- it's away from Chicago freeway traffic yet convenient for getting into and out of the area. We previously lived in a nearby town, so we knew the location would work for us. Both times, the rooms were very nice and clean. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good.
- 5/5
Over all I love the property and the staff
- 4/5
Front desk staff was top notch. Room just in need of some TLC which I did discuss with the front desk. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Loved the friendly staff and was able to find many eateries at a short distance. One thing I would say is that there should be some more parking spots available
- 4/5
It was OK nothing special

- 3/5
I booked the hotel since the rating was excellent. We are very disappointed and will not trust the rating anymore. The structure was still under construction. As soon as we walked in the hallway, it was the smell of curry. The room small and very low ceiling. The toilet seat was not secured. The floor did not seemed mopped. The toilet paper holder was about to fall apart. Bath towels were thin and old. The environment was noisy. I definitely don’t agree with the 8.6 rating.
- 3/5
Was not as clean as I would like and has a funny smell but the beds were comfortable and there was not a lot of noise. Bathroom is also very nice.
- 4/5
Excellent maintenance, quickly fixing a faucet.
- 4/5
The property is next to a Home Depot. Lot doesn't feel super safe. Other than that, the beds were as comfy as Veneitian Las Vegas. Firsr floor seemed a little loud/sketchy. 3rd floor was great. Nice and quiet. Super clean breakfast area. Halls smell a big of cigarettes despite it being non smoking. Check in manager was wonderful.
- 4.5/5
clean quite and recently renovated
- 5/5
Great location, and clean rooms. No complaints for me. Will be back.
- 4/5
I came during a busy weekend, but I was pleased with the staff remaining professional and accommodating as possible, while there was an issue with the stove top, I received the best support from a woman in house keeping, even despite the frustration, she was friendly and helpful, I wish I got her name, and the woman at the front counter.
- 5/5
already quite large parking lot available but general noise The residents of this hotel also do not maintain Mmmm peace and culture besides the fact that there is a parking lot between the windows gives such a noise and that is why it is not too quiet
- 3/5
Room was okay. Issues are that the bathroom had someone else’s hair in it, towels weren’t clean and room floor was so sticky. The doors have over an inch gap, so you hear everything and everyone. Elevator was so loud I could hear anytime it was in use. The pillows on the king bed are half the size of a standard pillow. Would not stay again because there’s many other hotels in this area.

I am a PRO class soccer referee and I often stay at this hotel if I have my own games in this area there is always a good price and also always a pleasant check in. In which a woman named Debra always leads the way, she is really professional and really always very kind, energetic and so precise in her work and as a welcome she always adds a bottle of drinking water. As for the area itself and the hotel itself, now between the parking lots they are building some building and there is then noise and quite a lot of dust and other rubbish but the rest is at a good level quite clean room quite good The furniture is generally clean only that e.g. for two people there are only two towels and e.g. my wife does not use a hair dryer she just turns it off and puts it in a towel so we simply missed one towel. There is also a disadvantage of this hotel that the check out hour ends at eleven o'clock although I left the hotel a little earlier but it is certainly inconvenient for some people who e.g. go to the airport at later hours. next thing is breakfasts are generally also at good hours but it was like that today for example there were no flavored teas which I personally like at some point there was no fruit and they also did not bring fresh ones and only put a few old soft bananas almost inedible what is the choice of food it was even at a good level and you could choose something for yourself but in this hotel it is fashionable to make omelettes and these omelettes are always with che

The breakfast was pretty good. Hot cheese omelettes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and of course the typical BYOW (build your own waffles). Complaints: Hallway on 2nd floor smelled strongly of cigarettes, like a smoker lives there, long term. The wall heater in the room had cold air from outside leaking in, so the thermostat wasn't working properly. Set the temp to 55 degrees, but the heater kept turning on anyway & causing the room to be very warm. It so warm it was difficult to sleep.

Love the staff nice friend and very respectful
- 5/5
Love the staff and this place is just clean
- 4/5
Overall the hotel was pretty clean however the there's a great deal of construction taking place and an awful smoke residue in the hallways
- 5/5
Oh I cannot say ENOUGH about how amazing this place is. The staff are literal ANGELS the housekeeping crew is easily the best in the business, the room itself was comfy and fantastic! The only complaint I had was that the room was a bit dark but honestly, not even that bad!

Checking in was seamless and the room was clean and very put together. The front desk gave me a few bottles of water which was thoughtful if you know what i mean that gesture means alot. The staff is pleasant. Its alot of restaurants and stores around

Nice room and helpful friendly staff. Conveniently located.

I am familiar with all the hotels in area. You cannot beat their price compared to quality and service. Rooms are spacious with biggest bathrooms in the area. It was an excellent check in experience with Debra.
- 5/5
It was clean but the shower layout is kind of weird. It was challenging to shower because of the shower head placement.

The layout of the building is a bit odd and wasn’t aware the MainStay hotel was shared with Sleep Inn, which was a bit confusing when pulling into the lot and trying to check in but didn’t end up being any real issue. Woman at check in was very friendly and accommodating.

It was a very nice and clean place

Reminded me of a Hampton Inn. Same breakfast and I was given two bottes of water. Some construction created a less than safe looking site.
- 3/5
Room was not clean.
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 5/5
The hotel was booked online. Some times it is difficult to determine whether the location is close to where I needed to be during the day. It was only 15 minutes away as it turned out. I did not check in until after 11:00 pm and was very tired from the 500 miles of driving. Check-in was very quick and easy and the desk clerk was very helpful with how I could get to my room with the least amount of effort. The room was clean and the ac was running and on 69 degrees which made the room very uncomfortable from the start.
- 5/5
Nice people and quiet stay. Outdoor pool was an eyesore and not in use. But overall fine stay.
