Cambria Hotel Plano Frisco

Unfortunately, there were several operational issues that impacted the overall experience. My reservation was entered incorrectly, and multiple colleagues traveling with me experienced similar problems. Guests who had booked one-night stays were showing as two-night reservations, while my two-night reservation was reflected as only one night. As a result, my room was not cleaned because the system showed that I had already checked out. The hotel also charges a $50 incidental deposit upfront and refunds any unused balance up to 10 days later. While incidental holds are common, the extended refund timeline felt excessive. There were also billing discrepancies during my stay. I purchased two breakfasts totaling approximately $42, but I was charged both the $50 incidental hold and an additional $21 breakfast charge. This resulted in a total of $71 being charged to my card, and I am still waiting for the hotel to properly reconcile the charges and process any applicable refund. The most frustrating part of my stay occurred at checkout. When I requested an itemized receipt showing room charges, incidentals, and any applicable refunds, I was repeatedly directed to Expedia. I explained several times that I was not looking for my booking confirmation but rather an itemized hotel folio detailing all charges and

She was very short and unapologetic when our room wasn’t ready upon our arrival which was later than the check in time we had requested which was only an hour early

Near Comerica center, where we were attending an event. The overbooked the room type I selected and offered free breakfast as a trade but the breakfast was chaotic and I didn’t even use the vouchers because there was no food set out and coffee was not even brewed for serving.

The hotel and rooms were clean and nice. The staff is friendly and attentive. I did not give 5 stars because the bathroom needs to have brighter lighting. There is one 12" LED light above the sink that is very dim. I couldn't imagine someone trying to put on makeup because it was so dark. And the water pressure in the shower was too low. It needs to be adjusted.

I may stay there again once I get back to that area

Room was clean. No bugs! The only thing there were no trash bags in the trash cans in both the room, and bathroom.

The location was good. We had called to confirm our late arrival. At 11:30 pm, there was no one at the check-in desk. There was already another family waiting there before us. Two more couples arrived after us. We all waited for more than 30 minutes for an employee to arrive. Many people knocked on close doors, while other people scouted all of the hallways for assistance. I had let the phone ring so long that it actually shut off the call. It got so concerning, someone called 911 to ask for non-emergency assistance. I was fearful that we might be standing in a crime scene with no one in sight. With zero security, sleeping there was also a concern. When we finally got a woman to come to the desk, she was silent. No eye contact. No apology. The room was such a disappointment that I considered just leaving, but that meant throwing $200 away. It is a total zero. Do not throw your vacation stay in their hands. Go to any other hotel in Plano. This one is a loser.

The hotel room was comfortable and very spacious. It was equipped with a mini fridge and a microwave. The shower had hot water, and there was also a bathtub available. The hotel is located in a calm area and is within walking distance of many restaurants and coffee shops, and about a 15-minute walk from the Shops at Plano. The staff was very friendly. I would especially like to thank Krystal, who kindly helped me arrange an Uber on my second day when the app was not working on my phone. Water bottles are not free and only small bottles are available for purchase; 1.5L and 2L options are not available.

Everything was wonderful but the pool was unfortunately dirty when we arrived on Friday afternoon, I believe they were cleaning it on Saturday but we were only there one night. The breakfast was fenomenal! Great kitchen staff and waiter!

Be very very careful with Cambria and any associated hotels - I booked here and arrived at the hotel at 6pm on a Friday night, only to be told that they don’t actually have space for me - they overbooked with a number of junior sports teams. No call earlier to let me know, zero communication about ANY of this ahead of time. It’s like my booking simply didn’t matter. The larger groups pay more in total so it’s easier to just bump the single traveler out of the hotel, I suppose. Anyway - they offered to relocate me free of charge, and of course I had no choice but to accept. They made the booking at the alternative property (Aloft Plano), who ALSO ended up charging me since Cambria did not provide their own credit card at check in, despite assurances from both properties that I won’t be charged. So, I paid Hotels.com for the Cambria booking, and also Aloft Plano for the booking Cambria made to supposedly make up for their overbooking. Repeated calls later, and no response from either of the properties. When considering the overbooking and lack of any communication or any proactive support around that, I should probably not be surprised.

Breakfast was good with a variety of options, including eggs, bacon, fruit and oatmeal. The bedrooms were very clean with a quiet AC and comfortable sheets. Plenty of space for 2 adults and one child in a room with a King and fold out bed. The hot tub was too cold to get into and didn't look clean.

I specifically chose this hotel because it served a solid breakfast compared to other hotels in the area however, breakfast appeared to be a buffet with buffet trays out but we were told there is no buffet but we needed to order off the menu. We sat in the area and no one came to help us for 10 minutes despite the fact that the hotel clerk said a gentlemen should be in the area to help us. The menu said fruit was served with all menu items but our omelets came with salsa instead. The coffee was like drinking water and was weak.

If you're sensitive to perfume smells, don't stay here! When you enter the hotel, it smells very strong of fragrance. They have 'sprayers' all over the hotel (I counted at least three from my short walk around the bottom floor), and even in the workout room, that deliver this toxic product into the air. The rooms don't have that smell, thankfully, but every time I had to go outside the room, the fragrance smell was so strong that my eyes and nose were burning. Also, the trees were so overgrown in the front parking lot, that I was unable to park my truck under them. I would say half of the parking spaces were like this. Even the alcove, where you pull up to check in was so overgrown, a car could not drive up without scraping the top. At breakfast, they were out of syrup, and it was only 8:00. Water pressure in the shower is non-existent. It was explained to me that the intentionally throttle the water to conserve, but the shower heads are cheap and only half the holes actually spray water, and about half of it drips down the back of the nozzle. I get water conservation, but invest in decent equipment. I have long hair, so it was almost impossible to rinse my hair OR my body with such weak water pressure. The coffee maker is garbage. Why they don't switch to Keurig, beats me. The PROS - the staff were so kind, and accommodating! The room was nice and clean. The air conditioner was noisy, but it worked well, and didn't shut off in the middle of the night.

When the party goers invited more guest than who were staying many over night guest were left with parking. They gave an option to park along curbs which blocked parked cars or park along marked fire curbs. The extra party goers took up all available spots including the circle drive and loading and unloading zones. Many guest parked at an empty lot next to the hotel that belonged to a business (it was Sat abd the company was closed weekends) but we were warned the company tows. Security assured all the guest waiting for parking that the party goers were told to leave and spots would available. We waited until 1am continually checking for spots and to ensure our vehicle had not been towed. We finally gave up, packed all stuff up and left at 1:30am to drive 8 hrs home. Absolutely ridiculous and poor planning.

Really loved the location and price point. The nice stocked bathroom was a plus and I appreciated the setup of the rooms with mini fridges and plenty of space! The couch bed was like sleeping on the floor - actually the floor may have been better or just leaving it as a couch. Awful. Also, it took an hour to get eggs, sausage, pancake and fruit - something that should have taken 15-20 minutes max. Terrible food service.

The location was near places to eat which was convenient. The price for the room seemed a bit high via booking.com compared to if I had booked directly via Choice Hotels.

Location was great for me but I felt gross in this hotel. The carpet was sticky and the smell in the room smelled like urine. The next day I found a stink bug on my bed, not sure how a bug got in. To top that off they started using the room next door as their public bathroom because their restrooms were out of order! So all day I’m hearing the door slam as people go in and out. Of course they couldn’t accommodate me to another room. They said they were booked. Wasn’t until I called Expedia that they said they’d move the bathroom elsewhere but if they didn’t have another room for me to move to…how did they have another room for a bathroom? Overall stay was not great, not coming back. I don’t recommend.

Great place to stay it was clean. The staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable. The pool was nice. However, the hot tub looked really dingy. I really wanted to use it but after getting closer, it was too gross. Their service at the bar was great.

Very disappointing experience. I confirmed my reservation with the hotel a day before, and they even approved my request for a lower floor. However, just two hours before check-in, the hotel canceled my booking without notice. It was during an important holiday for us, and the staff made no effort to help. Expedia still showed my reservation as active, which made the situation even more frustrating. Poor service and very unpleasant experience.

First, the pillows were little squares on your bed. Second the room was made up each day. Third shower had nothing to stop water from flowing through out the room and the tv was horrendous. You would watch and then a message poos up about renting movies and the remote doesn't work when that pops up.

Room was dusty. Advertised room service, but didn’t have. Restaurant was a joke. Bartender was rude. TV’s & remotes outdated. Could not hook up my Roku. Fire alarm went off at 9am waking us up. Absolutely a horrible experience!

We finally found our favorite hotel near our daughter when we visit Plano/Frisco. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only minor negatives were the sink had very little water flow and the shower didn’t drain well. Otherwise, it was a great stay!

They need to invest in new TVs and remotes. Had to keep calling for maintenance to come up and take care of the television.

Had some good amenities for families! The pool area was very nice. It smelled wonderful in the lobby and throughout the building. But our TVs were both broken and our toilet handle is broken. Some of the pictures in the bathrooms were not installed properly. My children found a dead cockroach underneath one of the beds. Other than that, it was a comfortable place to stay.

The staff I encountered were extremely helpful. Customer service was outstanding; a.m. breakfast helpers beyond thoughtful. Bar & Front Desk, & Housekeeping too. Great property if nding to trvl for nearby business, or medical appointments. Close proximity to ez shopping for forgotten items, and fun restaurants close by-walking distance. It was fine. Restaurant was terrible- I’m certain they microwaved everything including quesadillas and bacon. Space felt clean but I think a dehumidifier was broke as all my clothes felt damp in the room the entire trip. And bathroom floor seemed to have a greasy film while in shoes. The tap water was gross and smelled- I wish I would’ve brought more bottled water- I think this was the worst part for me. Staff was very friendly. Bed and pillows very comfortable.

I’ve stayed at this property several times in the past, but was disappointed by this stay. The mattress was too firm - uncomfortable. The pillows were small and soft - difficult getting comfortable. The air conditioning unit was loud - starting, stopping, banging and thumping. Gave up on sleeping, and got back on the road before 6a.m. Don’t believe I’ll stay there in the future.

Poor room quality, poor upkeep. AC is loud and smells when switching to different modes. Thin walls allow the sound to travel and you hear your neighbours.

First time staying at a Cambria hotel. I must say everything was really good: the front desk lady was nice the bartender Gio was very friendly. The comforter, bed & pillows were so cozy! Free breakfast was alright too. My only complaint is Please STOP using so much fragrances thru the hotel! It’s a killer on the sinuses. From the lobby to the elvevator & room too. Spelled like carpet fresh. Oh- and better lightning pls in the bathroom. 4 stars

The rating on Hotels.com was 9.4 “Wonderful” at the time I booked. This property is closer to an 8. The room was dated. The curtains were dirty and only functioned halfway. The price was very cheap, which should have been a red flag, but I typically go by ratings.

Great place to stay. GIO AT THE BAR was great. Stafff was good. Bed little uncomfortable but would stay again.

I was here for work in the Legacy West area for a couple nights and needed to keep within a budget. This is the best hotel value for money. It will feel a bit basic compared to upmarket chains but it was in a great location and the staff were excellent
