Oxford Suites Portland - Jantzen Beach

Staff is lovely. The hotel is still undergoing a renovation.

The receptionist was friendly and professional, check in was smooth and easy. Our room was exactly as described, clean, and the bed was comfortable and bedding was good. Breakfast was hot, offering the usual meat, potatoes, eggs, bread and fruit. They also offer a free happy hour with food and a free drink. We have stayed at various Oxford Suites and love them!

This is the fifth Oxford suites property that I have stayed at. They have all been wonderful. Oxford suites is always my first choice.

Need better food thank you

It was a good stay, quiet and comfortable. The only downside was the breakfast- things were cold, biscuits were hard and they were out of things, and when we got down there, there was still 45 minutes left.

Location was convenient, and the room was nicely sized & clean. Nice lounge/bar with complimentary first drink, and wonderful breakfast. This was an excellent choice and value.

Breakfast was simple but good. Plenty of choices. Room was clean and spacious. Air conditioner did have a strange smell that seemed to come from the filters but was bearable. Air comditioning worked very well

No complaints other than I thought breakfast included omelets to order. Apparently they do not do this anymore so I was disappointed.

Property is great- comfortable for a family of 3. We did have to wait ~20 to check in because there was no staff at the front desk. Other than that we had a pleasant stay.

Hotel is older but updated and together. Actually I appreciate that it is not new since it has opening windows allowing fresh air even though they only open a few inches. It is not far from the airport and there is plane noise but did not notice any after I went to bed. Pricing was reasonable relative to the area. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. I would stay there again.

Bar almost in lobby not great, noisy. No vending machines on property not good. Nobody to drive shuttle if needed for airport. Very inconvenient.

They then tried to give me 15% discount, saying that they were full; which I declined. Then after making me wait a while (I had already drove for 8 hours in a car) they magically had the room empty and available for me.

This place is wonderful. Felt like home. Plenty of little extras to make you comfortable. We appreciated the attention to detail even on small things like whip cream for waffles, toaster, makeup wipes and shower cap. Dog friendly with a small fee. Staff was very kind and helpful. We will go back for sure!

The room was excellent through the staff is very helpful. Answered all the questions I had made it very convenient to check in even though we didn’t get there till 1 AM. I recommend this hotel.

Location worked for us and the breakfast and stay was very good. Would have enjoyed more hours of the bar and food service opened, but good overall.

Room was clean. Check in was easy but we got no information about the Continental breakfast or hours of the amenities. The restaurant wasn't what we expected. There is no wait staff, instead you order at the bar and they page you when your order is ready. Complimentary drinks were nice. Great location for attending events at the Expo Center.

When notifying staff of these things I was not compensated at all they just said we will make a note of it. And then said “sorry it’s not up to your standards”. It’s not about MY standards. It’s about common sense basic standards. But the staff were very friendly and I like the place over all.

Breakfast had promise from the looks of the set up and from the nights before - all that was really good. Then, sadly, regular hotel food. Fresh, plenty, but "the usual."

The area around it has really been run down, homeless peeps hiding in the shadows everywhere. A 16% Tax was added to the bill as a Hotel Tax in a state that has No state tax, very disappointing, this hotel is just over the river from WA. State, next time we’ll book on WA. Side due to the excess hotel tax and surrounding area and homeless issues.

The Bad--The Shower was the Worst I've ever come across...very hard and confusing to work, and the floor was REALLY SLIPPERY!!! The television remote gave me fits as the buttons were so close together the Wrong one was pushed most of the time....

Breakfast buffet is delicious! A lot of hot & cold options. Staff is friendly. The 2-queen bed suite was exceptionally clean and spacious. The only complaint I have is that the heater/AC unit was loud - there was a loud vibration coming from the unit. Loud enough to wake you up and keep you awake :-( We were only there for one night, so I didn't bother to try changing rooms. Overall, a great place to stay and value is good. Will stay here again.

The hotel is in a convenient location just off I-5. The room was clean and comfortable. The check in process was absolutely terrible. There was no one at the front desk when I arrived. There were multiple other people waiting to check in too. I asked nearby staff if they could send someone up to the front desk and after waiting quite a long time a girl came to the desk and made excuses for not being up front. They should really just have a self check in kiosk if they don’t want to keep someone at the front desk. No one wants to wait around to get in to their room after a day of traveling.

Breakfast was super great! The fact that they give you coupons for adult and kids drinks for the day is awesome!

We stayed 1 night here and it was positive experience. Checkin was quand hassle free. Room was clean and no odors. A free complimentary drink at the inside bar for every guest. One mix cocktail at your choice plus free tortilla and salsa. Non-alcoholic beverages for kids. Breakfast was mix of hot meals like egg, Sausage, potatoes and oatmeal and cold ones like cheese, butter, muffins and etc as well as waffle maker. I saw a few homeless people around the area that could be a bit uncomfortable but parking lot was key access gates for in and out and well lit so looks safe. Location of the hotel was very convenient and some food and shopping in just a few min drive or walk. Hot food could be purchased from bar inside the hotel too.

The staff was great front desk service was ideal. Although the pool had a little bit too much chlorine in it,we couldn't even be in there and the children didn't want to swim because it was so strong they could hardly breathe.. Other than that the stay was nice and the breakfast was very good.

One of the kitchen staff seems like she had a problem with my wife and I. I told my wife I felt like it was because of the American flag shirt I was wearing. My wife is Hispanic so I don’t want to sound like I’m racist but she was definitely rude. Mostly to my wife.

They gave us a free drink from the bar which was unexpected but very appreciative and great. Breakfast was excellent we had homemade omelets, this was a great continental breakfast way more then what we had expected.

Breakfast was great, good choices. Evening manager's special was a bit disappointing as it was only garlic bread and would have been improved with salad or soup items. Service overall was fantastic!

I stayed here for busines one other time and it was amazing and flawless. This trip was for business as well and apparently my room was in the unremodeled section of the hotel which felt like a bait and switch. Also the wifi was nothing but trash the entire 4 day stay. I couldn't do work from the hotel at all. But those ladies in the kitchen can pump out a killer breakfast.

Thought the fence around property was a nice touch. Liked the secure parking. Then realized the area surrounding property was not the safest hence the extra fencing and secure parking. Overall, nice stay.

Check in took longer as the staff person was on the phone dealing with a reservation. A line of 4 checkins was behind me and I was second in line. I don't blame the clerk she was doing her best. They should have someone to step up when this occurs

Room reserved was not available due to overbooking. Hotel was overrun by multitudes of kid soccer clubs. Pool was unusable because of this. Bed was comfortable enough. Shower area a bit dingy in exterior corners. Could not get room cool enough, but stay was during a heatwave. Housekeeping only cleans on Mondays and Thursdays, although can be requested. Don't like the vanity/sink area outside of the bathroom. Could use a night light in the toilet/shower area. We were in town for a memorial service and didn't spend too much time in the hotel.

Property was close to family in Vancouver. Lobby, breakfast area and bistro area were clean and inviting. Room was clean and comfortable. staff were friendly. Will stay here again!

It’s super clean. Even though you can hear the runway but the noise is minimal and only in the morning. The air conditioner is not loud like most hotel room. It’s good value for such a nice hotel. It also comes with breakfast with made to order omelets if one wishes.

When I walked in my initially assigned room, all of the couch cushions were sitting atop the coffee tables. Very odd, so told the front desk and she switched to a different room, just 2 doors down. When I entered that room, it was hot and stuffy and when I turned the light on the beds were not made and obviously hadn't been cleaned from previous guest. I went back to front desk where you can only imagine how apologetic the employee was, even offered a couple free soft drink bottles from. Finally got assigned a room that was accurate and the night was fine. I wanted to use the pool, but the water was slightly cloudy. The breakfast buffet was great! The bed was comfy. The employees were friendly. Accidents happen and we're human subject to human error, so I have grace, but that's why I'm giving a 4 out of 5.

Best hotel buffet breakfast we’ve ever had. Dinner menu was great and strongly recommend the turkey club as it was the bomb!! Bartender Daniel was the best and most talented person on the property. Free drink per person per day starting at 4-7:30pm. Very comfortable bed and rooms are spacious.

This hotel was very nice. The complimentary breakfast was great! The pillows in the rooms weren’t the best, and the water in the pool was a bit murky. Other than that we had a very nice stay.

Stayed here while in town for the weekend. Our room was clean but your daughter was on the 3rd floor and had issues with ants. The breakfast was good. We didn’t use the pool. The neighborhood was a little sketchy. I wish they would return to daily housekeeping.

This is a very nice hotel. Modern features in the room, an incredibly comfortable bed and a reasonably sized room. My only complaint is the shower. It had very low water pressure, but at least the rain shower part of it was nice. 9/10. We'll definitely be staying here again.

Absolutely terrible stay! We booked a family suite, for a family obviously, and they book us in between, and above and below, a bunch of team rooms. After numerous complaints about noise, and them doing nothing about it, I threatened to call the police. They finally came up and dealt with the situation at that point. Then they told us they would refund us, but since it's thru a third party we need to contact Hotels.com. When Hotels.com contacted them, they refused to honour the refund. So not only are they incompetent staff, they are also liars. We will never stay there again, and highly recommend anyone else staying there. It's not even a great property, and finding the entrance is ridiculously complicated.

We enjoyed the fact that we were close to shopping and a few dining options and close to the expo center. The breakfast was amazing and the pool was warm and the sauna clean. What I did not enjoy was the karen mom who complained to the front desk about a group of teenage lifeguards who were doing nothing in the pool while her kid was running and jumping and then sent a secuirty guard to confront just my kids and no one else's.

We really enjoyed our stay. After a hot day at an outdoor event nearby, we were so relieved to discover how nice and comfortable this hotel was. My 10 month old loved walking around our room and it was spacious enough for the three of us to all relax in. I think my daughter enjoyed her first hotel stay even more than my husband and I. The bed & pillows were very comfortable and there was great water pressure for showers. I liked how the lobby, bar, and dining area were set up in the front of the hotel. We were too tired from the day to check out the pool, hot tub, and sauna. The staff were working so hard and still so nice during our stay. I would definitely come back.

This was a fantastic hotel and I will 100% be back next time I am in the area! The staff was so friendly. And the property was so clean and modern. I really loved the decor in the room right down to the neat wallpaper in the bathroom. They offered a free drink to guests in the evening as well as a yummy breakfast. We ordered food for dinner and it was tasty too. When they heard it was my birthday, they went out of their way to make it even more special. All of this for a very reasonable price! I really applaud what you are doing, bravo!

We chose the Oxford Suites because we wanted a pool this year for the hot days after the Portland Grand Prix. We got so much more tham we were expecting. The staff was kind, the hotel was clean the breakfast was great as was the bar for after race beers. Will definitely be back next year

The room itself was clean. No bad odors or weird smells. The breakfast buffet was also great. I’d say the only downside to this hotel is the location and the pool. The pool was straight up gross. The water was green and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.

Stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, no daily housekeeping but it’s affordable for what u get and you can ask for a towel refresh. Breakfast and managers snack with complimentary daily drink from bar was an amazing touch. I really enjoyed the safe gated parking lot for our car. Pool was small and always full but still enjoyable stay would stay again. Great service from front desk and all other staff. AC in room worked great.

We had a fantastic stay here. The rooms were incredibly spacious, clean, and comfortable. The amenities were excellent — a delicious breakfast in the morning, plus free drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the evening, which was a wonderful bonus. The pool was nice, and the entire hotel felt well-maintained and welcoming. Overall, a really great experience with nothing negative to note.

This place is real nice. Love the decorations, the rooms are cozy and nice. Beds are very comfortable. The breakfast amazing and to top it off, they give you a free drink voucher upon check in. Right off freeway exit. We would definitely recommend.

Perfect stay especially if you have kids with you, the breakfast buffet is phenomenal and so much options and very tasty, couples will also love it it’s just overall a good hotel. I would stay here again, whenever I visit Portland again.

A dated facility

Nice place to stay and fairly close to the airport. One of the best free breakfasts I've had.

The only downside to this property is location…traffic on the 5 is horrendous in Portland, and you have to get on the 5 to get to the hotel. We left in the morning (after commuter hrs, still took 20 min to go 4 miles), and didn’t come back until after 8pm. Couldn’t pop over to hotel to drop/pick up things, or rest before heading out again. If you need access during the day, i recommend you don’t stay on Hayden Island.

Room not available at 4pm to check in. Keys did not work and have to get reprogram. Room was not cleaned daily. Towels have to be requested everyday to be replaced. Tables for breakfast are not cleaned right away. Facility not up to date.

Overall I was happy, but there were 2 issues. The internet kept cutting out and I had to hook up to my cell phone to get a decent connection. Also, the gate situation was not explained properly to me. While trying to leave I was not able to exit the gate I entered. You have to go all the way around the hotel to a DIFFERENT gate to get out. There was no signage to explain. This was frustrating and cost me a lot of precious time.

We have stayed at this property many times, but it had been a while since our last visit and we were pleasantly surprised with the new renovations. Everything was very clean, super clean rooms and bathrooms. Happy hour is an added bonus, and the bar area is very nice and comfy with a great bartender. In addition, you do get a full hot breakfast with plenty of options and lots of seating. The staff where all very polite.

Great staff. Very nice room with comfortable bed. Their bistro had good food at reasonable prices. It it a pet friendly place. Complimentary breakfast was outstanding.
