Reviews
The hotel has a beautiful view of the water and is close to Washington. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. However, the parking garage is small and cramped, and there have been issues with cleanliness in some rooms.

After we made the reservations, we called to make sure they have a shuttle to the airport. They said yes - then we called back to see if it was complimentary and they said yes. When we got there there was no shuttle. They said there are 3 Courtyard by Marriott and only 1 has a shuttle but we called the one connected to the address we went to.

Clean and well maintained, just not much value for the price. Breakfast is not included and was quite expensive if purchased on site. Parking is $15 per day and unavoidable since there are few restaurants or other businesses within walking distance. No housekeeping service during our 4 day stay (we didn’t request any).

cozy and great hote. staff was really kind. Thank you

Decent hotel if you are planning to stay for a night.

Overall, we had a great stay. The views were beautiful, the price was very reasonable, and the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming throughout our visit. The property was clean and comfortable, making it a great value for the cost. The only reason I’m not giving it a perfect rating is that it wasn’t quite as upscale or “bougie” as I was hoping for. That said, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly place with great scenery and excellent service, I would definitely recommend it.

Breakfast was awesome as well as staff!!

The water was nice out back i should had got a room facing the water

Rooms are slightly outdated with popcorn ceiling and the shower ceiling had black mildew. The view was great. The indoor pool was on the smaller side but still fun for kids. One day the hottub was cold because they accidentally turned it down too much. Food was good, server and bartender were great.
- 3.5/5
Customer service was amazing. Great food. Swimming pool and hot tub were nice. The outside area with the fire pit and seating, the view of the river, the fountain along with the gazebo were very nice. Hotel is decorated very nice. I was put on a room on the first floor and it was too noisy lots of traffic walking back and forth from the elevators to the front desk and to the restaurant. The room was nice. I love the little love seat that folds out to a twin bed. The king size bed is not very comfortable. Starbucks on site is very nice. Uncomfortable beds. If you can avoid sleeping on the first floor definitely avoid it.

The staff was friendly. The rooms and property were very clean. I highly recommend staying here.

Very good
- 4/5
This property is a fading beauty, once really nice but now looking quite rundown. Also, parking is a nightmare.
- 2/5
The wallpaper had stains, the towel rack for the hand towels was hanging on my a nail, the carpets were worn and black with dirt The only only saving grace that the sheets were visibly clean and that we were able to leave the following morning. Additionally the walls were paper thin! The banging overhead, the planes flying by, and the guy across from us who had a 2 hour meeting at 7 am, we heard ALL of it! The project manager seemed to have a productive meeting at least. Needless to say we won't be back.
- 5/5
Comfort and on site restaurant and lounge
- 1/5
The restaurant was closed the entire time we were there 2 weekends in a row. The coffee shop was also closed while we were there and because they don't do a continental breakfast there was no way eat anything on the premise. The pool was also closed so that was really disappointing for our kids. We called ahead to make sure the restaurant was going to be open and we were told it was. This is one of the main reasons we stay at this property, so not having it open was a bummer. The front desk staff was wonderful and very apologetic but that doesn't make up for the lack of amenities.

Beautiful location, and my room was clean, but the heater/AC unit was loud and woke me up periodically. Also, the staff at the front desk were hard to locate at times. I waited quite awhile for attention at the desk.

Very beautiful property. Great staff. Felt safe. Was near the river.
- 3/5
We were looking forward to the swimming pool because it is open until 11pm but when we go there, it was under maintenance and the staff was unaware, our kids were heartbroken.
- 3.5/5
The grounds were beautiful and the courtyard was very relaxing The room was very tight!
- 3.5/5
The room was very tight!
- 2.5/5
The first room we were given the A/C was unplugged and not working. When I called down to the front desk Rain working the desk suggested I plug it in. After crawling under the uint and plugging it in, it came on and made an awful noise. Restaurant CLOSED!
- 4.5/5
Getting to the location was a little tough. The streets are small because of the many apartments around the hotel. Apartments must not offer parking as street parking was packed. Thankfully you had a parking structure.

The view from our room was amazing. We had Cheesecake and ice cream in the lounge and they were amazing, even got to chat with the Chef for a little bit. Staff was really nice. Great location. Beds were comfortable. Pillows nice and fluffy. Also the front staff person. I think her name was Carmen. She was very welcoming. Room a little outdated. Had carpet I usually like tile or hard flooring

Awesome staff clean and ready, very accommodating staff.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable property, and convenient for our purposes. The immediate neighborhood is newer and needs more parking, but the hotel has a good underground lot that is inexpensive and never full. We've stayed here a few times and no doubt will be back.
- 5/5
The hotel was extremely clean. Staff was very helpful. Definitely recommend this hotel
- 2/5
Crumbs in the bed. Reserved this room for two nights primarily for the pool for the kids. The free breakfast was deceptive.
- 5/5
My 10 year old mentioned it several times as well! And kids tell the truth! We all noticed. Thank you!
- 3/5
The room was clean, but the bed uncomfortable. There wasn't any hand sanitizer and the second floor ice machine was broken. The river view was nice, and the climate control was easy to understand. There wasn't a headboard (which is fine by me) but good luck parking in the wildest parking garage I've ever seen with the amount of tiny spots due to columns.
- 3/5
The hotel itself is in a nice location; however the front desk is rude. I believe his name is Juan at the front desk. He’s not pleasant at all does not make you feel welcome. Customer service training will probably help him. The ladies at the food area and the cook were very nice.

Well, after being on the phone with Expedia twice, trying to understand a few things in question, like there are ridiculously low rates for places in which I also had credit that I was wanting to use. After getting off the phone, I went back in to look at the current rates for places again and seeing one charging zero dollars, and I was booking it for two nights so I jumped on it and it showed that I only had to pay $1.39 and I was checking in that night. So I was in a rush to gather my stuff to get down there, and as I was on my way, I was looking up the address for the hotel and found that it was only showing for one night, I was very upset about that. so at the hotel, I was explaining that to the gentleman who checked me in who happened to be a supervisor and I had asked him if I could have a late check out and he asked how late of a check out I wanted, I commented as late as you couldn’t give it to me because I needed the break away, so he gave me a very generous late checkout that was very appreciated. The room was perfect. I loved it had a very nice view. It was very comfortable even for being a small room. It didn’t feel small. It had a king bed, a couch and a balcony. It was perfect. I really enjoyed the stay. They even gave me a free breakfast, which was very nice of them. I recommend this hotel to everyone.
- 5/5
We had a lovely stay and truly appreciated the staff, who were incredibly polite and friendly throughout our visit. However, we did notice a couple of maintenance issues: the bathtub was clogged upon our arrival, and the bathroom door made a bit of a strange noise. With those small fixes, the room would be perfect!
- 5/5
The staff was awesome, every person I came across was friendly and helpful. The facility itself is very thought out and easy to get around
- 4/5
Had no housekeeping service
- 5/5
very nice staff, location was close to the airport. not the most up to date but did the job
- 4/5
We be had a good experience, staff seemed a bit frustrated due to the system upgrade, but had a good experience overall
- 3/5
The gentleman working last night was very nice. And the grounds were nice-right in the river so great view. Fountain and gazebo were lovely. Just “okay” because lots of noise as we were right next to elevator and pool and there were two youth sports groups that were extremely rowdy. Staff did what they could regarding this but kids were being kids. Room was not clean to standard and bed was not very comfortable.
- 5/5
Staff great. Pool not open that was the bummer. Best thing we looked forward to indoor closed for season. Weird.
- 5/5
Quiet and convenient
- 5/5
Clean room,friendly staff
- 4/5
Very nice staff and room, thanks
- 5/5
Clean room - great staff
- 4/5
No complimentary breakfast offered
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
The hot tub when we were in it we turned the jets on and some debri came out
- 4/5
The room was nice, however the bathroom floor was dirty with hair and spots on the tile. It obviously had not been swept and mopped. I had a problem with the key not working, but the front desk staff took care of it quickly. I have always had very good service and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. But this time the room was disappointing. The dirty bathroom floor made me wonder what else was not cleaned. I expect better from Marriott.
- 3/5
Front desk Staff was absolutely phenomenal. However the bathroom very dirty, the outside of my room was noisy from mechanical things and not sure what was going on with the roof but so much banging. Paid parking was berry tight and they accidentally charged me twice for the parking when I stayed one night. Thankfully I was only there one night.
- 5/5
Good pool and overall nice hotel would stay again
- 4/5
Everything is nice
- 5/5
This is a hidden gem! Such attentive service. Best hotel breakfast we have ever had (get the breakfast burrito!) and really pretty river view. Has a nice walking path along the river and the fire pit is going all day.
- 1/5
Not a fan
- 3/5
Only downside the area is very noisy at night, and the sugar ants on the bathroom floor and the kitchenette configuration was awkward not worked
- 4/5
Gym was pretty basic but enough to get a decent wkout in the door to the gym doesn’t work and you have to access through the pool but all good….over all a good experience
- 5/5
My compliments to the chef. He toasted my breakfast burrito perfectly amazing and without me asking for it!!! The room, pool, hot tube, outdoor seating area are amazing on the riverfront. I would definitely go again.
- 2/5
We checked in, walked up to our non smoking room and it stank of cigarettes, was very outdated and dirty (stains on the couch, carpet, etc). We went down and requested a new room from the staff and they obliged moving us to a new room which did not smell of cigarettes which was good. Then upon checking out I checked my credit card statement and found they had charged me over $500 in various invoices even though I paid in full prior to arriving to the hotel. I called them the day after leaving and requested a refund. They said they’d look into it and call me back or send an email. They never called or emailed so I had to call ever single day for a week to try and get to the bottom of the charges. Very frustrating experience to deal with a company supposed to be focused on customer service and hospitality.
- 2/5
Clean rooms. The room keys rarely worked and I had to get new room keys everyday.
- 5/5
Nice. In front of the river peacefull
- 5/5
My only complaint was upon check-in. I had remind the person that I had a car. They told me park in the garage with no directions as to were it was. FYI it was below the hotel and they didn’t tell me about the amenities they just gave me a paper to read. For most people these things wouldn’t matter but sometimes it’s the little things. Still really liked the Property and if ever there will definitely stay again!!
- 5/5
Love it
- 3/5
We had an accessibility room and by the time we settled we realized the shower had no curtain. I didn’t know if this was standard but water went everywhere. I was too tired to care, unfortunately when we were watching a movie the screen would randomly black out. I put fruit in the fridge and when I went to retrieve it, it was frozen. Also our neighbors above us were having a marching parade because I could hear every footstep. I will say it was a very clean and the staff were very friendly.
- 5/5
This place is better than the courtyard by the airport. Much better night's rest.
- 3/5
We were expecting better from a Courtyard Marriott that we've been to in other locations.
- 5/5
Loved it! Very clean, staff is nice.
- 4/5
Pool area could use a deep cleaning
- 4/5
it was a convenient location for why we were there :)
- 3/5
What I disliked the most was how rude all but one employee was. The housekeeper was lovely. All of the receptionists were rude, some not even bothering with eye contact. Rude tones. Rude comments. Defensiveness. I can't think of a time I was treated with so little (as in ZERO) courtesy and positive customer service. The room was fine. Clean enough, though there were hairs on the walls of the shower. I'm guessing part of that is because the shower heads are old and affixed in place. Hard to spray down the walls - or the body - with style of shower head. The second most egregious issue was that I specifically paid for breakfast to be included and the "receptionist" at the time said we didn't. It was a lie and cost me money. The blessing was that we went somewhere else for breakfast and never looked back at the dingy dump that is this hotel. So disappointing for a Marriott property. I will definitely rethink my attitude towards Marriott. No automatic positive regard anymore. Dump. Do not stay here unless you absolutely cannot afford something better.
- 4/5
Beautiful view, friendly staff. Good food on site but just 1 restaurant within walking distance otherwise. Property’s highlight is the patio and fireplace, rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Weird detail but the sink in the room had a facet that barely stuck out so it was impossible to wash your hands without water getting on the back counter. Not a big deal, just an odd (and memorable) choice.
- 5/5
It would be nice to have complimentary tea and coffee in the reception area as in other Marriott Courtyard hotels that we have stayed in. The only tea pods available were green tea, but black tea would have been nice.
- 5/5
Good night stay
- 2/5
Staff was slow. There was no front desk staff at all from time to time. Restaurant staff are excellent.
- 3/5
Unfortunately as a Hilton girly I'm used to breakfast but they just had a small cafe kind of thing also my shower doors weren't closing properly but overall it was decent quiet located well and friendly staff
- 3/5
The shower was not properly cleaned- there was hair on the floor
- 5/5
My husband, daughter and I were traveling back home and stayed one night because we know courtyard by Marriott from past trips. We are so happy we stayed at this hotel. My husband is disabled and they allowed us to check in early, we got a room on the top floor with a balcony and a beautiful view. We will be staying here again for sure. We loved the gated garage as well. Parking $15 but worth it.
- 5/5
The whole establishment was clean and well staffed. The view of the River was beautiful. A great place to stretch out after a long day on the road.
- 4/5
Parking under the hotel is extremely tight and horrible. Those parking spots are for tiniest cars.
- 5/5
Very nice place definitely recommend and can’t wait to visit again in the future!
- 5/5
No
- 5/5
Restobar is well priced with tastes options
- 5/5
Staff are friendly
- 3/5
Front desk was awesome and left us check in early . Our balcony connected to two other rooms with no barrier . The bathtub was either stained brown or was dirty. Room 211. The room was remodeled . The bed was hard like a rock . The couch was nice . Dinner at the bistro was good ! Our waitress was fabulous. We went back for breakfast. I’m not sure what happened. I ordered a coffee. They forgot me . A baseball team was there . Only two staff . They seemed confused if they were just making coffee or the bistro was opened . No menus were provided. They seemed overwhelmed and confused.
- 5/5
The property overall was very nice. I, would tell my friends about this property.

Stunning properly overlooking the river on a bustling neighborhood Spacious inside and out. Beautiful pool and spa overlooking the river. Great hospitality, including children and dogs. Secure parking. We love Marriot Courtyards, and this is one of the best.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 3/5
The staff is less than enthusiastic and welcoming. It felt like I was bothering them when I checked in and checked out.
- 5/5
Excellent condition
- 1/5
The property was fine and so was the staff. There was a lacrosse tournament the weekend of our stay. The kids and parents were incredibly loud in the lobby and dining area. We were stuck on the first floor which put us front and center to the madness. Children running up and down the hall, playing video games in the lobby on hotel computers. Not a fun time for me. Wish I had been advised about the event so I could make special accommodations or stay at another hotel. Not sure why we were given a room in such a busy location. Bad management all around.
- 4/5
The stay was great. The area and view was nice. It would’ve been nice for front desk to offer water bottles upon arrival rather than us having to ask for it. Other than that no negative feedback
- 5/5
I was thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness of the property and the exceptional customer service.
- 5/5
Good hotel
- 5/5
I felt very comfortable as a single female in this hotel.
- 5/5
Everyone was very friendly and gracious, staff and fellow travelers alike. The fire alarm went off the first night, but that is an anomaly for which the facility has no control. Very pleasant.
- 5/5
Beautiful view, food service could use some help long line in morning
- 5/5
Amazing hotel with amazing views of the Colombian River. Our favorite place to stay in Portland, OR. Clean and the staff is fabulous!
- 5/5
Everything is fantastic
- 4/5
Over all nice room, just in a sketchy neighborhood.
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful and the hotel was very clean
- 3/5
Guest laundry room had 1 washer and 1 dryer. The dryer snagged and twisted 7 items of our clothing and they have very large holes in them. I took the items to show to front desk and was not offered any type of compensation.
- 5/5
Like view of river and trails around to walk my dog.
- 4/5
Clean. Comfortable beds
- 4/5
Great view
- 5/5
I really enjoyed our stay. It was close to food, safe place to park, good food nearby and most of all made it easy for us to play sports next door. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a wonderful experience.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, clean room
- 2/5
Needs work on the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Mold and hair in the shower and the whirllpool was very moldy
- 1/5
Not really good
- 5/5
Loved it
- 3/5
It was the closest room to the elevator and the bar, all night people talking, early in the morning you heard the people at the elevator. They have a 'Bistro'. Which is a privately run but branded Starbucks. Their printed paper menu at the counter gives 4 options under a bullet point. * Muffin, banana yogurt * Breakfast sandwich * Oatmeal * 4th one I can't remember 2 employees. 1 of them was helpful and trying her best, the 2nd one was arguing with the 1st and full of drama. After they got thru their spat, we were able to order the first bullet point thinking you got all the items listed. They took a while to bring it to our table and it was only the muffin. I went back to the counter and she said we had to choose (muffin or banana or yogurt). When I asked to have her add a banana she did so without charging me extra. We also ordered 2 drinks...16 oz mochas. 5 minutes after our muffin had arrived I saw other customers getting their coffee but where was ours? I inquired and drama girl asked what our order was. Then she made it and instead of bringing it to our table tried to slide it across the bar. Spilling it. Then remade it again. Coffee after we were finished eating. Plus the it slowed down our morning. 45 minutes instead of 20. Bah! Not the end of the world but not awesome.
- 5/5
Loved the walk along the river with dog.
- 3/5
We were in town for a volleyball tournament and the hotel also hosted a wedding, so it was very busy. They only had one person available for checking in and handling any customer service. The person had to leave a few times, because the key cards were not working properly. We had to return a few times, because our cards were not working to let us in our room. The person at the desk has overwhelmed one of the times and threw his walkie-talkie when I asked for help. The best were fine and the room temp was adjustable. The second night there was a group in another room up around 3am who we could hear so much it woke us up. The kids loved the pool room, which was very warm. I’d probably stay somewhere else next time. They need to staff up more if it’s busy.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. There was a problem with room keys through out our stay and when checking into our room there was still dirty parts of the floor and the glasses in our room didn’t look clean like there was residue in them
- 5/5
It was very nice
- 5/5
Clean efficient and helpful front desk.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel. Nice being by the river. Weird location otherwise.
- 5/5
The outdoor courtyard is beautiful at night
- 5/5
Hhfdd
- 3/5
There is no breakfast buffet.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly. Lots of parking. Amenities are decent.
- 2/5
I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Portland North for one night, hoping to relax and enjoy some time in the pool and hot tub with my partner. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. When we got to the pool, there was a terrible smell, and it was clear that either someone had thrown up or worse, pooped in the pool. It was disgusting, and we couldn’t even get in. We ended up having to leave immediately and take a shower to wash off the unpleasantness. I understand that accidents happen, but this was a significant letdown, especially for a Marriott property. Very disappointing and not what we expected from a place like this.
- 3/5
This hotel we have been using for over 5 years for the annual car swap meet event. This year the pool was super cold and the hot tub was dirty looking. Like the water was greenish. The room over all was great the sheets and the beds were clean and well maintained. The service at the bar lacked in attention during the most busiest time they had the poor employee running around like a chicken with his head cut off. I felt really bad. The food was great we had chicken wings and pepperoni flatbread. Since we had our kids and their main priority was the pool and food we will be looking elsewhere to stay. So sad because we loved it here!
- 5/5
We went to use the pool and other guests were telling us not to go in the water…there was puke in the pool and the hot tub really smelled. This was disappointing…this was a big reason why we booked this hotel.
- 4/5
Everything was very clean in my room except the carpet smelled like feet
- 2/5
It advertised dinner and a bar both which were closed down. We paid for parking but then it was full. Bathroom vent was broken when tried to fix drugs fell out .we were told we would get a refund but nothing.

- 2/5
Was not the greatest
- 5/5
Great place!
- 5/5
All the employees were so nice and caring! Rooms were extremely clean. Great experience!
- 5/5
Very nice and clean hotel very recommended i would live in there
- 4/5
Affordable, clean. Staff were very helpful. Card key for room didn't always work. Had go go back to check in to have the keys re done. Inside / hallway doors slam loud. Room layout was okay, but not great. Air/fan blowing all night on the bed. Cold!
- 3/5
At times I was disappointed by service received by a particular staff. Had to send the comforter back due to blood being on it, as well as the TV stopped working during our stay. I enjoyed the hot tub and I felt the drinks and food were priced way too high for the quality. Overall it was an okay stay for the price
- 4/5
The only reason I didn’t put 5 was I had the room for 2 days, my daughter and her friend stayed the first night to help me pack and I stayed the 2nd. Housekeeper came in and replenished towels, refilled coffee pods but didn’t make the beds. I found that odd
- 4/5
For the price it was a great stay. Some staff could’ve been nicer than others but overall it was good!
- 3/5
- We paid the $8 to add on breakfast but it was difficult to confirm the purchase. The $8 fee isn’t included on the receipt. The front desk didn’t confirm at check in so we could obtain our breakfast vouchers. -Guests are required to pay for parking but this is not advertised. -Parking is horrendous. Parking spaces are VERY small. - Night staff did not have a good handle on guests when inconvenienced. One overnight front desk staff person was very rude, allowed people to jump ahead of others in the long line and was not willing to help. -When the key cards stoped working, none of the other staff offered to help. We seen staff sitting around on their phones. - the hotel overall was very clean, rooms were nice and the Bistro day staff were amazing!
- 4/5
Easy check in but they didn’t say anything about a fee to park in the garage and then charged my card for it. Other than that it was a good experience
- 4/5
Loved the view from my hotel room and loved how friendly the check in and check out staff was. It was quick and easy will definitely be coming again.
- 5/5
This is my 3rd stay at this hotel. I like the parking security with no extra charge, the view, and the comfortable rooms. I would recommend paying the little extra for breakfast because it was worth it! It’s cook to order. I’m sure I’ll be back for a 4th time soon
- 3/5
“The hotel staff were friendly and provided great service, and the room was clean and comfortable. However, I noticed a significant number of homeless individuals in the surrounding area, which made it feel less safe
- 5/5
Hotel was very clean. Nice staff. Parking was very secure.
- 5/5
It was great! Excellent and welcoming front desk agent and restaurant staff.
